Just trying something, I wanna see how it works out I'll continue this if people like it.

The majority of the votes determines what this character does.
------------------------------------------------------------
You're shivering you feel cold and wet sometimes, and too hot and dry at others.

In front of you sits a man on a twisted podium he appears too be facing away from you, the room he's sitting in looks oddly familiar to your college lecture hall but the chairs and seats are oddly shaped and the white projector screen seems to have a pair of dancing scissors being played on it.

You see a blob of something in front of him, you can't really make it out though, looking at it gives you a nauseous feeling however.

You have this overwhelming feeling of dread, you want to run badly.

What do you do?

You decide to stay and watch, ignoring your gut feeling to run away.

"Exams." The stranger sighs audibly as the blob lunges for him ripping apart the podium with a pair of extendible appendages, you can't make out what they look like exactly but they seemed to make some pretty sharp gashes in the podium.

The stranger leapt away quickly enough to avoid the blob, landing in one of the lecture hall seats with a resounding thud.

"Ow...That wasn't very nice at all..." He grumbles, he seems not to be taking this... thing, seriously. The creature on the other looks like its going to lunge at its target again.

Keep on watching?

>>
>>32377464

The creature lunges again, a lot faster than it had previously. This obviously caught the man off guard, he leapt up again to get away from it but the blob caught him mid-air and slammed him down into the other chairs.

You feel the ground shake on impact and the man starts swearing and spewing some nonsense about "fucking fashion students." and how "They can't have it as bad as engineering." producing an impossibly long machete from his back jean pocket in the process.

Quickly whipping it around before the blob has a chance to maul him, it explodes on contact sending the creature flying back into the projector screen but rather than ripping the picture it... falls in? The man sprints in behind it, leaving you in the room, alone.

You are now alone in a very damaged lecture hall, you hear snipping from somewhere around the room but you aren't sure from where, maybe the projector?

What do you do?
>Leave the hall through the entrance?
>Follow the man?
>Investigate the hall?

>Investigate the hall
Let's see what's going on in this madhouse!
>>
>>32377844
You hesitantly but surely begin to explore the area that was previously a battle ground between the two strangers. As you explore around area you notice the spot where the man pulled a machete was... warped like the material used to make that machete was stolen from there.

Around the area you also notice overly large pins and thread left behind, possibly by that creature, you can see the two still going at it in the background but they just look like two blobs on the screen as far as you can tell. The scissors are gone from the screen too.

On the podium there's a piece of paper jutting out from the wreckage that wasn't there before, picking it up the words "RUN KID" are written on its back in red.

The snipping is getting pretty loud, it sounds very close to you.

What do you do?
>Run
>Continue investigating?
>Find out what's making that snipping noise.
>>
>>32378119
>Run
I'll take semi-cryptic warnings.
>>
>>32378119

I think running is a good idea. The snipping is clearly not a good thing, since the scissors are missing.
>>
>>32378168
>>32378140

You decide that the stranger and your gut feeling might have a point now, and you start dash towards the open doorway.

Just in time too, a group of what you assume to be scissors slam down behind and fling towards you being puppeteered by what looks like sewing threads.

Dashing out of the open door a scissor is flung directly at you.

You try and duck under the scissors while running but you end up tripping into the wooden floor of the hall ways, before you can impact against the ground however you find yourself plunged through a barrier of water and into the entrance of what looks like a cave.

As you land against the solid floor of the cave, you realise that this is the underground tunnel system that the school made to allow students to get around. When you look back above where you fell through the floor its no longer made of water, the scissors are gone.

"That was scary, huh?" a voice asks behind you, a feminine one.

As you turn around you notice a long haired redheaded woman in what looks like a red and blue armoured skirt and... a helmet?? its very cheesy something that you would see in a cartoon or something superhero based.

"Yeah it’s a trick Jack, well, the guy that you saw earlier taught me to get out of situations like that. Using it takes a lot of will though so he told me to do so sparingly..." She sighs lamenting about... something from the way she shook her head.

"Who are you?" You ask as she gives you helping a hand, easing you onto your feet.

"Names Jane, Criminology student here second year, what about you?"

> [Name, Study, and anything else you guys want to make of this character.]

"I...I don't know what my name is…" you mutter extremely disturbed by this fact. Jane on the other hand looked like she couldn't care less.

"Don't worry that's common with Neutrals, forgetting important things seems to be a trend..." She continues leaning against the tunnel wall.

"But yeah... I am a third year archaeology student, watched a bit too much of Jackie Chan and Indiana jones. Stuck around even though I found out its mostly not kung fu and grave robbing" You smirked she seemed to perk up when you mentioned Jackie chan.

"Like Jackie chan adventures?" she chirps excitedly, she's way too into kids cartoons from the looks of her and this comment now...

"YES, best cartoon of its age!" you reply enthusiastically, freaking Jackie Chan the man who wanted no trouble.

"I know right, I loved the Oni mask arc specially the episode where jade had th-" She continued before a voice cut her off.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING JANE? I TOLD YOU TO PULL THAT FUCKER OUT OF THIS DREAM BEFORE THE SHADE HATCHES?" you hear, it sounds like the voice of the man from before too. But you have no idea where it came from.

Janes attitude had changed in an instant, she grabbed you by the arm tugging you as hard as she could, with an almost inhuman strength even.

"I'm sorry but we have to get out of here NOW, he's right you need to get out of this persons dream before it becomes a full on shades nest." She says running down the tunnel tugging you forcefully.

As you're forced to run along you notice the cave went from the usual professional underground tunnel system that buildings have, to a more spike and jutted appearance.

Whatever was happening you’re gut feeling to run away was getting more and more intense.

“Wait, hang on! Why are we running? What’s going on? Was that Jack?” You struggle to say loosing breath out of how fast that girl can run.
"Yes that was jack, we're running because we are not in your dream. We are in someone elses dream scape." She says turning a sharp corner, you tripping along to keep up.

“When people have it bad, and I mean really bad they feel depressed and angry. Those feelings don't just go away and when they build up and build up eventually the person cracks." Jane continued doubling down another corridor.

"What you've seen so far are just the shades of her problems those creatures, the root cause however is about to hatch. That’s what we call a reaper, leaving someone to wake up as a reaper in a dream is essentially a death sentence." She explains, rounding yet another corner.

"It's our jobs to kill the reaper before it wakes up, see those constant murders in the news? Most of them are caused b-" She stops dead, her face turns white and she backs up from the next corner before she pulled you along.

“Jack…, this is… this is bad I have the newbie and we ran across the dreamer…” She said liberally peaking around the corner now, visibly shaking.

“Kid I know you can hear me, you touched my card that I dreamt up so we’re linked. I need you to let me and Jane deal with this. I want you to find the exit point and get out of here. If we make it I’ll meet you tomorrow at the emergency med classroom ask for Jack Faust.” Jack explains.

“Jack we’re stuck now the layout has changed again, I'm going to have to face it.” Janes voice cracks as she looks at the path you originally took, it’s walled off now. “It knows we are here.”

"Listen, if we let this thing hatch it could start corrupting other peoples dreams and have a domino effect kid. It's the reason you are here in the first place we've been rounding up college kids who fell into this dream, you're food to this hatching reaper right now." Jack continues to explain with an intense tone.

"Fuck that, Fuck that, FUCK THAT..." You whisper as loudly as you can too Jane making her visibly upset.

"You've got to be kidding me" you continue as she beams you down with her puppy dog’s eyes… Dammit “...How?” you ask defeated by that look.

"I wish this was a more controlled environment but here are the rules of a dream duel. You die you could go into a very long lasting coma so don't die here. Second it’s a dream, physics work partially the way you want them too but it's based on your will versus the dreamer. Third the more dreams you dream up the more exhausted you will be and the less will you can muster them so be careful. Focus on what you want and make it." Jane explains quickly, you hear a large shattering noise across the corner and Jane steps out from behind the corner into the corridor.

Jane breaths in deeply and raises a hand towards yours, "Together?" she asks trying to calm herself for what lay ahead.

Now would be a good time to start imagining what you would need to fight this monster.

You summon a quarterstaff and a hat reminiscent of Indiana Jones, you thought about summoning some windshield wipers but just in case you aren't as Jackie Chan as you think you are, a real weapon will have to do.

"Nice choice" Jane says grabbing your hand and slowly walking down with you towards what looks like a warped version of the college courtyard. "I figured if I am going to die, I might as well dress as silly as I want to look." She says referring to the cheesy hero outfit she was wearing.

"Ready?" She says stepping out into the courtyard with you, it was obvious she was forcing some courage here but both of you were feeling that adrenalin rush and no one was going to stop you now.

Part 2/2

In the middle of the courtyard you see a mass of thread, yarn, cloth materials, doll arms, and massive pins all bunched and moving together. A pair of scissors like the ones seen previously are floating by massive threads jutting out of the blob forming a barrier.

Surrounding it are six clothing mannequins with its individual limbs being held in place and manipulated by large threads that come from the lump in the middle as well. Each sporting a dress that looks as different and unique as the next, but all of them have gashes in them like they were purposefully cut.

The courtyard itself is made of blanketed materials and massive pin heads jutting out of ground, you can already see some of this reapers victims webbed tightly to the pin heads and being prepared to be devoured by the hatching nightmare.
-------------------------------
You have 20 turns before the reaper hatches, you don’t know when Jack will arrive combat mechanics are as follows.

Physics work normally unless you alter it, altering the laws of a dream will take 5 out of your current will point of 10. Minor manipulations like speed are 1 and new weapons are 2. Will recharges quickly out of combat but you gain a will point ever 10 turns. Healing takes 3 points as well.

You also have a +2 modifier to martial arts AND environmental advantage roles for your obsession with adventure and combat.

The blob is not taking an action yet so it's your move.

What will you do?

Meanwhile you run towards the three that have caught your attention and you go in for the kill with the first puppet you come up against.

Currently on the field Jane has killed a dummy so have you, one has its arm broken and the blob has 3 dummies fighting you and one fighting her.

The blobs scissors mobilize for combat by pointing towards you, you can see about 10 of them from your side. You need speed to fight these things and the mannequins.

10+2 = 12

You try as hard as you can to knock away the offending pairs of scissors but you do miss some and take a moderate amount of damage to yourself and the pole.

Jane had already jumped to cut the enemies on the other side so the rest of the scissors thankfully missed her.

A scissor did leave a pretty big gash on your shoulder it’s harder to use your full strength because you end up wincing in pain, but otherwise the only other problem is that your pole is damaged ( -2 to combat rolls.)

From what you can tell of the other side, Janes taken out most of the scissors and the last doll is literally on its last legs… well hanging by threads anyways. The scissors on your side are scattered but they are regrouping this is your chance to do something against them.

Your pole is damaged and your shoulder is wounded.
