You're jolted awake as the train screeches to a halt. You never did like trains, since they were cramped and had very limited avenues of escape. However, you couldn't argue that they weren't convenient, and most importantly, cheap. For an assassin like yourself that has to live from paycheck to paycheck, every cent counted.

Yawning, you realize that you've finally reached your destination and get up along with the other passengers who've arrived at their stop. The intercom then chimes.

"Remember not to leave any belongings on the train! We are not responsible for missing or stolen items!"

Instinctively, you check for your weapon to see if it's there.

>Knife. Has multiple uses and is fairly concealable.

Yep, your knife was right where you left it, hidden inside your jacket for easy access. Knives were pretty much a weapon with many uses, and you could never remember a time where you didn't carry one.

After stepping out, the doors of the train slam shut behind you and the train rushes off to its next stop. Your danger instincts kick in when you see a pair of police officers pass by, before you have to remind yourself that you haven't done anything to earn their attention... at least not yet.

Continuing your way through the station, you push your way through the crowds, heading for you next destination, which was the lost and found counter.

"Are you looking for something, Miss?" The clerk manning the counter says with fake politeness. You're pretty sure this guy wasn't just some minimum wage clerk.

"I think I dropped my phone somewhere here." You say, carefully reciting the code words that were provided to you. "I'd kill a guy if I could get it back."

"Ah." The clerk nods and bends down behind the desk before handing you a rather fancy looking cell phone. "Have a good day, Miss!"

No sooner does the phone touch your fingers when it starts ringing. Without missing a beat, you hit the "answer" key and hold the phone up to your ear.

"Ah, Tarin, it's been too long!" You hear a cheerful, yet vaguely disturbing voice chime in your ear.

"Can you please tell me what this is all about, Mr. Yoshikage?" You sigh. Personally, you didn't really want anything to do with the weirdo, but he paid well, in cash, and on time, so you really couldn't refuse him. "I turned down a very lucrative job in Myojo for this."

"Ah, yes, we'll get to that." Yoshikage chuckles. "But first, let me ask you a question? How do you see yourself?"

"...excuse me?" You blink.

"As an assassin, do you consider yourself the best in the world?"

>You're damn right I do.

"Ah, modest as always." Your current employer giggles. "Well, I've done my homework, and it turns out that you're the best at what you do. In a way, you could be considered the Killer Queen!"

"Killer... Queen?" You frown. That was such a silly sounding title. "What does this have to do with anything?"

"Well, I've found four fellow assassins that are vying for your spot and.... I hired them to kill you."

What.

What.

WHAT.

You must have said at least one of those whats out loud, because Mr. Yoshikage continues.

"It's all part of the game, Tarin. Also, you'll be properly compensated for your troubles, assuming you live, of course. A million dollars per head!"

"So, kill them before they kill me?" You sigh, trying to fight a sudden headache.

We could try to take out Yoshikage himself, leaving the assassins no reason to hunt us. Also brace for STANDO.

We could point out that there's such a thing as honor among thieves. Or killers in this case.

"Oh hell no, this isn't what I signed up for." You scowl. "I'm out of here."

"Oh dear, I thought you might say that." Mr. Yoshikage says.

Suddenly, you see all the plasma screen televisions scattered through out the station switch channels to show a face. YOUR face. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see the printer at the front desk activate and it starts spitting out a APB alert with your face on it as well.

"What the fuck did you just do!?" You hiss.

"Well, it would be much harder to leave the city now that the police are looking for you, yes?" Mr. Yoshikage chuckles. "Though I suspect the added challenge will only make you more worthy of being the Killer Queen if you can pull this off!"

"You-"

"Eliminate your targets, and I will rescind the APB on you." Mr. Yoshikage says. "As for finding your targets, some data concerning them is stored on the phone I gave you. It also has a search function that will track their current locations when you activate it, but beware, they'll also be able to see you if you turn it on!"

Wonderful. You briefly consider trying to walk off anyways, but you knew that you'd never be able to get out clean with this kind of heat. You were lucky Yoshikage used an outdated picture of you, but you could already see random strangers giving you odd looks, and a much, much heavier police presence.

"Fine!" You hiss. "But in return you double my pay!"

"Of course!" Yoshikage laughs. "And, well, I do also have a personal favor to ask, as well. I'll throw in bonus if you would bring me their hands after you kill them? Half a million per hand."

"You are one creepy son of a bitch, you know that?" You scowl. "But fine."

Oh god, the shit you did for money.

Grumbling, you quickly clear out of the station and head for a nearby Starbucks where you can hunker down for a moment to get your bearings. Fiddling through the phone Yoshikage provided to you, find four files stored and you quickly skim over them.

THE GUNGIRL: Where some assassins prefer stealth and subtlety, others prefer brute force and immediate action. The Gungirl is a master at everything that goes bang and boom, racking up an impressive killcount, even if 90% of it is collateral damage. As long as the target is dead, mission accomplished.

THE SLASHER: While most assassins do their work for money, there are a few that do it purely for pleasure. The Slasher in particular takes great enjoyment in her work, and is always careful to let everybody know her by the results of her work.

THE HACKER: Time marches on, and as technology advances, methods of assassination do so as well. The Hacker is proficient at taking advantage and subverting electronic systems to do the job in her stead.

THE BLACK WIDOW: Few girls are as deadly as the Black Widow, who uses her looks and charm to lure both men and women to their untimely (and totally accidental) deaths. While not a good direct fighter, she is a master of disguise and persuasion. Weapons that can be more potent than any gun or knife.

You frown as you read the files. Even you've heard of these assassins, and they were all ruthless bitches, despite how they may have looked on the outside.

>>
>>32519514
Okay, yeah, you could do this. Maybe. You had to be smart about it. Take them each out one by one. Quick, clean, professional. That's how it was done.

Then after that you'd find a way to get back at Yoshikage. You were always up for a bit of charity work once in a while.

Now, the issue was figuring out which target to go after first.

You decide to go for the Black Widow first. You knew from experience that people like her were the most dangerous, exactly because they were hard to get to directly. You think hard about where a girl like her would hole up. She couldn't take you on alone. No, she was going to need help. You quickly check your map and look to see any potential areas she could recruit from.

You decide on the Mafia hideout, which here was disguised as a trendy nightclub. Since it was the daytime, there shouldn't be anybody in there except for Mafia goons, so you really didn't have to worry about collateral damage. You've been here before on one occasion or another, so you have a rough idea of the building's layout.

Now all you needed was to make sure it was actually her in there...

Well, normally the Mafia guys were wary of anybody snooping around their club, especially during daylight hours, but you were no stranger to them. After all, you've worked for them before (and killed a few of them too, but it was all part of the job). Pretty good business, actually. Someone hires you to kill a mafia goon, and the bosses hire you out to assassinate him back. At the very least, the Mafia guys treated you with grudging suspicion.

However, here, you notice things were off. As you walk through the front door, the pair of guards keenly watch you as you pass. They try to hide it, but you can definitely see them calling in your approach and reaching for their hips...

"So," You say, turning around, knife already in your hand. "How much is she paying you to do this?"

Both of the Mafia goons look at each other and then you before reaching for their guns. You suspect that the Black Widow promised them something more than money...

Nevertheless, you knew these guys had to go. You throw your knife into the throat of the first goon, pretty much killing him instantly. You close the distance between the second goon and grab his arm before he can aim at you. One quick twist causes him to yelp in pain and he drops the gun before you flip him over on his back and deliver a crushing elbow strike on his throat, similarly killing him instantly.

Messy, but it got the job done. If the idiots were going to use guns, they should have waited for you to walk a bit farther. Their loss, though. You appropriate the goons' weapons for yourself. Two handguns and few magazines. Should be adequate for what you're doing.

It's then that you hear a clapping sound over the club's intercom.

"Ah, so the Killer Queen has decided to show herself. Honestly, I though you'd be a bit more subtle." A smooth and feline voice oozes from the speakers. The Black Widow, no doubt.

"This day has been full of surprises." You say, taking cover around a corner to make sure nobody was sneaking up on you.

"But really, do we have to fight like this? It would be SO much easier if you just... turned yourself in?"

"And what would I get out of that?"

"Well, you'd live, and I would have a very wonderful servant! We both win!" The girl coos.

Yeah. No.

Dumb bitch. If she was on the intercom, there was only one place she could be, the main office. It overlooked the main dance floor, so you had three potential routes of entry.

>Get in through the office section. It'll be tight and cramped, though, but you'll have lots of cover.

Well, you've been through worse. Since they more or less know that you're here now, you don't really have to play nice. With a handgun in one hand and a knife in the other, you kick in the door leading to the stairs and dash up to the office level. There were a few more goons up there, which you easily deal with. A few gunshots here and there knock down the first two goons you see. You ram into the chest of the third goon, pinning him to the wall as you jam your knife right under his sternum. No time to reload your handgun, so you just grab a fresh one from a fallen goon and proceed further.

You kick down the next door, gun drawn and raised, but you're surprised to see nobody inside. Well, that wasn't totally true. You sense movement to your side and you whip around just in time to see the Black Widow aiming a gun at you. Thinking fast, you roll forward and swat the weapon out of her hand like she was a misbehaving toddler. However, before you can bring your own gun in line, you feel a pinprick in your chest and you back off, clutching at the pain and surprised to see a syringe stuck between your ribs.

"W-what the..." You mumble as your vision begins to blur. The gun grows heavy in your hand, like you're trying to hold up a heavy brick and it begins to slip from your fingers.

"Oh, it's a bit of something special I cooked up." The Black Widow says cheerfully, though she's still wisely staying in cover behind a large desk. "Not lethal, but it does so many interesting things with a person's mind and judgment..."

Some kind a drug. Shit. You blink and shake your head, trying to clear the haze out of your eyes, but it's no use.

"I suppose the others would want to finish you off quickly, but I like to enjoy my meals." The Black Widow chuckles. Yeah, she's taking her time because she knows she has the advantage.

Well, you had an idea of how to get to fight off a mind affect drug. It's worked a couple times before, but you really, REALLY didn't like it.

Oh man, you remember the last time you had to do something like this, and you kinda wish you didn't. That fucking hospital was just full of crazies.

Back to the matter at hand, you take out your knife in your right hand and stab it right into the palm of your left. You don't cry out in pain. You're not a little girl anymore. But it still hurt like hell. However, it does the job, and your body injects a surge of adrenaline into your system in response to the pain, clearing your head up for a brief second.

And that's all you needed.

In one smooth motion you're over the desk and you kick the Black Widow in her smug face as she tries to peek at what's going on. She's knocked to the ground and you straddle her belly. You deliver another punch to her face to keep her stunned and you ready your knife. You see a bunch of syringes lying on the ground as well...

Normally, you'd finish people off quickly and cleanly, but there was something a bit personal about this job, so you feel you can indulge yourself a little. Plus, you plain just didn't like people like Black Widow.

"Hm, so you get off by drugging and poisoning others, right?" You grab a random syringe, which looked similar to the one she stuck you with and jam it into the Black Widow's neck. Her eyes widen for a brief second before they glaze over and her entire body loosens up.

"Okay, what the hell is this all about?" You ask, holding the syringe in front of her. "What did you try to drug me with."

"Just a.... something to... loosen people up. Make them.. listen." She slurs, drool leaking from the side of her mouth. "Very... effective when you want to... persuaaaade somebody."

"Uh huh..." You look down and see the Black Widow had a phone similar to yours. You suddenly get an idea. "Use your phone to ping me."

"As you wiiiiish, master~!" The Black Widow giggles as she flips open her phone and hits a key.

On the phone screen, you see three dots signifying the other assassins in various parts of the city, and two dots representing you and Black Widow herself overlapping each other. Your own phone PINGS and you flip it open, where it shows only the Black Widow's location.

"Well, it's been a pleasure." You say, standing up. "But I got more business to attend to."

With that, you grab a handful of syringes filled with god knows what and jam them all into the Black Widow's chest at once. The Black Widow's body seizes up and begins to spasm, and she gurgles and coughs as she tries to scream.

Bitch had it coming. Your wrap up your still bleeding hand with some spare cloth and check your phone again to decide your next target.

You decide to hit the Hacker next. If you learned anything from her type, it was that you didn't want them to have any time to set themselves up. Hacking took time, after all. You loot the Black Widow's phone and try to use it, but it refuses to respond. Damn thing probably only worked with her biometrics or something. You grab her hand and press it against the keys, but nothing happened. Well, guess she had to be alive, too. Oh well, you weren't going to lose much sleep over it.

Remembering Yoshikage's odd request, you take your knife and hack the Black Widow's hands off. You stuff them into a plastic bag and stash them in a backpack you happened to find. It felt really gross and wrong to do this, though. You were an assassin, not a serial killer.

Nevertheless, you head to the Hacker's last known location. A GoBank.

Now, this was where things were going to be tricky. GoBanks prided themselves on the most advanced electronic security of any bank. If the Hacker managed to penetrate their systems, it would be a wet dream for her. You were going to have to play this carefully. You had to keep from getting spotted by the cameras, which would no doubt trigger some kind of lockdown system, which would mean you would be shit out of luck if you got locked outside. There seemed to be a lot of people around, so you could feasibly get in undetected.

At the back of the bank, you could see an armored truck pulling in. If you could hitch a ride onto that, you could also get in unseen...

>Try to sneak in through the front with the crowd as cover.

Well, if it was any consolation, in most cases, bank security systems had a lot of holes in them, if you knew where to look. All you really needed to do was stow yourself away under one of the approaching trucks. None of the guard bothered to even check under, and once the truck pulled up to the loading bay, all you had to do was roll out from under the guards and sneak in through the back loading entrance just like that.

The problem now was just FINDING your target. Being doubly careful to keep out of sight of the interior cameras, you quickly scan the people in the crowd, glancing at your phone every so often to see what she looks like.

Meanwhile, you see a half dozen guards rushing into the main lobby area to see what the commotion was about. You see the Hacker for a brief second, mingled in with the panicked crowd trying to pile out of the front door.

Well, you could always chase her, but then that would take you past the guards, who may or may not try to stop you.

Or you could go back out the way you came and try to head off the Hacker from there.

Huh, must be a handy skill.

"All right, let them come." You shrug, and raise your handgun. "At least you won't be alive to see it."

Simple double tap. One in the chest and one in the head. Considering your position was compromised anyways, you check your phone and see that the Gungirl and Slasher were coming and coming in fast. Looking around, you gauge your surroundings. If you stay here you'd be in a relatively open parking lot with a good number of cars. The police would also be coming to respond to the alarm and they could either be a help or a hindrance.

On the other hand, you could try to steal one of the cars here and move to a more defensible location.

You drop you phone to the ground. Not like you were going to need it anymore, and it would serve as a sufficient lure. You dash off to a nearby store and hide inside as you watch the circus unfold. You could recover the Hacker's hands later.

A fleet of cops arrive and begin spreading out, inspecting the surrounding areas of the bank and wondering how to get inside. They don't notice the Hacker's dead body, or at least don't get a chance to when a fucking semi truck plows into their formation, scattering cop cars and cops all over the parking lot. You see what is presumably the Gungirl leap out of the cab with dual assault rifles, unloading bullets in anything and everything that moved, laughing all the while.

At the same moment, you see a girl that matches the Slasher's description skulking about. She's actively avoiding the main firefight but is still on the lookout for you.

And that's when you notice that the semi the Gungirl barged in on was a goddamn fuel tanker.

We are going to get paid enough to drop off the grid forever anyway

Shit, you could afford to be sloppy today. With the huge paycheck you were promised, you could easily lay low for several years. Decades even, if you planned it all out properly. Plus you really, REALLY didn't feel like getting into a drawn out fight.

To say that the explosion was rather large was a bit of an understatement.

You're literally thrown to back when the tanker explodes in a ball of fire, engulfing both the Gungirl and the Slasher in its red hot embrace. Well, that takes care of them, though sadly enough you probably won't be able to recover their hands. Whatever.

Suddenly, your cell phone, your personal one, rings. You pick it up, and unsurprisingly, it's Yoshikage.

"Congratulations, Tarin! You proved yourself to be the true Killer Queen! At least for a while!" Your employer chuckles. "As agreed, you will have eight million dollars deposited to your account, with another million for recovering the Black Widow's hands!"

"No offense, but we're done here, Yoshikage." You grumble. "And not just for this job. I'm done with you for good. No amount of money is worth this much trouble, and I don't like being toyed with at your whim."

"Ah, such a pity to hear that. Completely understandable, though." Yoshikage says somewhat sympathetically. "Well, we shall see how things go from here, yes? Best of luck to you!"

God this was such a fucking long day. Once you got your hand patched up properly, you were just gonna flop into your bed and sleep.

And maybe by your own tropical island or something. You heard that was all the rage these days.

>And that's it for this oneshot! Next Sunday will most likely be the restart for Pararescue Witches, so stay tuned for that! Don't forget Gundam Build Fighters on Friday and Cyberpunk Idols on Saturday!

Also PJ Witches so soon?

We're still at barin though in 89. We have enough material?

In hindsight, with today's economy 9 million may not be enough to buy your own island.

Then again it;s late so my sense of money is bad
