You are Carmen May and you're about to investigate the office on the top floor of Warehouse 34. The warehouse itself is dark, dank and abandoned. Though you find it strange that there's a distinct lack of human presence here, Warehouses are usually prime locations for shady activity and impromptu residences for the homeless. With that in mind, something doesn't feel right, you double check that your gun is loaded and safely tuck it back into its holster. You also make sure that its properly concealed. If someone happens to be here you want any advantage you can get, even if you've only had the chance to practice with it very early this morning.

Heading into the office, you find that there's a very old wooden desk tipped over in the corner, as well as a couple of papers scattered and some broken dirty needles on the floor.

Searching the room for a while, you found that you didn't really find anything of value. Somehow a small part of you hoped that Armada would keep some sort of detailed record of their kidnappings in the filing cabinet. Slightly discouraged you make your way out of the office, when you hear some activity happening below. You quickly check your phone to see if Gail messaged you, but she didn't. This isn't good.

>Try calling her number
>Sneak out of the office and stay out of sight
>Other(writein)

Man, I saw this late.
>Sneak out of the office and stay out of sight
Calling her might be a bad idea if she's being stealthy.
>>

Carefully.

>Sneak out of the office and stay out of sight
>>
You stealthily creep your way out of the office. Luckily you decided to use your ability to blend in to the shadows before you explored the warehouse. So you didn't really worry about being seen, what you were mostly worried about was being heard however.

Tip toeing across the cat walk you see a couple of men in cloaks, one man in a suit and..a woman in a red dress? They're standing over what looks to be someone kneeling down, blindfolded and tied up. You walk further to get a better angle and your fears were confirmed. Gail got caught somehow.

You hear the woman in red speaking to the man in a suit. "Did I not tell you to make sure nobody comes around this area? I thought we already baited the vampires around this area with something else to do."

"We did, but she looks like some college kid, properly here on a dare or whatever kids do these days." he rubs his forehead with a handkerchief

"You idiot" she reaches down and forces Gail's mouth open and points out the fangs. "Do these look like human canines to you?!" she tosses her back and kicks her head with her high heel, hearing a pretty nasty thud and a groan from Gail. "So child, what brings you here?"

You can't really sit here and watch them interrogate her.

>What do you do?
>>
>>32550383
Well fuck.
Call for backup, then try to get their attention and make them realize someone else is around while remaining stealthed if we can.
>>
>>32550383
Do vampires show up in pictures? Either way, snap a picture of the important-looking man and woman and send it to Beatrice, ask for some help.
>>
>>32550427
>Call for backup, then try to get their attention and make them realize someone else is around while remaining stealthed if we can.
Let's not give away the element of surprise for no reason.
>>
>>32550485
Yes. You do have a picture of yourself from the carnival despite being mostly obscured by a large panda
>>
>>32550489
I'm not seeing how we can use it in a fight, and we can't wait until someone comes around before acting. I figure trying to spook them and hope they choose to retreat in case they get mobbed by reinforcements might be a better idea.
>>
>>32550383
Time to crack some skulls
>>
>>32550506
I was wondering if the large panda was a roundabout hint that we didn't show up in them actually, good to know.
Definitely photograph them then.
>>
>>32550516
>I figure trying to spook them and hope they choose to retreat
It'd be better to just hit and run with our shadow escape.
>>
>>32550383
>Snap picture, try for surprise take-down of suit guy.
>>
>>32550383
Snap a pick, then shoot the guy in the kneecaps. Is Gail conscious?
>>
>>32550580
Can we really manage the 'run' part though? If even one of the four is a stronger vampire (decently likely if they subdued Gail without any obvious damage) it'll probably backfire hard.
>>
>Snap her picture and send to Beatrice.

Making sure the flash and sound is off, you stealthily snap a quick photo of the woman in red and send it to Beatrice to try to get some advice.

You: Gail got caught, what do I do
Beatrice: I'm on my way, don't fight that woman.

You gulp, this isn't good. Beatrice has never told you outright to not fight someone. You see her grab Gail by the hair and toss her against one of the containers. "I'm going to ask you again child. Why are you here?" Gail coughs and answers "Stop being a bitch and maybe I'll tell you" dammit Gail stop talking.

You have to think fast.
>Keep shadowed and take down the guy in the suit
>Shoot the guy in the kneecaps.
>Hit and run on the woman in red, try to get Gail out of there.
>>
>>32550762
>Shoot the guy in the kneecaps, try to blend into the shadows and move away before they can see you.
It's guerrilla time!
>>
>>32550762
>Keep shadowed and take down the guy in the suit with a knife, Shoot the someone else in the kneecaps.
>>
>>32550762
I'll back >>32550806, though anything that tries to remain stealthed sounds good.
>>
>>32550762
>Keep shadowed and take down the guy in the suit
>>
>>32550762
>Hit and run on the woman in red, try to get Gail out of there.
Priority #1.
>>
Keeping yourself shadowed, you make your way to the bottom floor of the warehouse. Trying not to make as little noise as possible. The woman in red continues heaping abuse on Gail which is making you angry. But she being distracted allows you to be able to attack the sweaty man in the suit.

Getting in position, you take out your knife and slash the back of his legs. Rewarded with a cry of pure pain from him. You quickly get out your gun and shoot one of the cloaked guy's legs, hitting him in the shin, but he still crumbles down yelling in pain. The other guy in the cloak looks around frantically.

The woman in red chokes Gail. "So you had a friend huh? Where are they?" you hear Gail in pain, trying to struggle.

>What do you do?

Roll 1d20 best of 3 for any action
>>
Rolled 14, 2, 19 = 35

>>32551283
>Take out the last mook with a bullet.
>>
>>32551382
sorry for the three roll just use the first
>>
Rolled 3

>>32551283

Shoot the woman in red in the arm. Hopefully it'll prevent her from being able to exert enough pressure on Gail's throat to actually choke her.
>>
Rolled 16

>>32551283
>Bodycheck woman
>>
>>32551283
>Shoot at the red woman
Anything to break her choke-hold.
>>
With no time to think, you practically burst out of the shadows running full force and tackle the woman in red from the side, releasing Gail from her grip.

You hear Gail crumble to the floor coughing and sputtering. Glad to hear that she's at least alive, that joy quickly turns into fear as you feel the woman in red kick you in the gut, which tosses you a few feet away from her. Managing to still hold on to both the gun and the knife. You pick yourself up and face her. She's blonde, attractive and her eyes are the reddest shade of red you've ever seen on a pair of eyes. Never mind the fact that she's pissed. "Look what you've done to my dress. You'll both be paying for this dearly."

The man in the suit is still crying on the floor while the man you shot is struggling to regenerate his wound. The frantic one in the cloak starts smirking, he probably thinks his boss will just take of things.

>Action? Roll 1d20, best of three will be taken.
>>
Hopefully we can do something with a 16.
Man, we should get some more combat powers, turns out escape/sneaking powers aren't that great when you're hit with hostage situations every time anyway.

Go with this. Need some smart-ass-ness in here.
>>
Not liking the smug look on his face, you shoot him, quickly going from smug to in pain he yelps. "Son of a bitch!". The woman in red doesn't really seem to care that you took him out, in fact she grins at you.

"So you couldn't resist hurting him? That's great, useless people deserve to get hurt." you grimace at her, you have a feeling that you don't want to be anything like her.

She starts walking, trying to circle around, but you keep your position near Gail who looks badly hurt. You hear her muttering about that you should leave on your own. That idiot.

>>
>>32552270
Not wanting to take your chances with turning your back on her, and also not wanting to out right fight her, you take the middle ground and spend your time dodging her attacks. (HP 17/20)

You had some very near misses from time to time. "Children are so boring these days. Is this all you're going to do? Maybe I need to force you to do something"

She extends her nails, and stabs her arm, with her nails(or claws) newly dripping with flesh blood, she tosses a large red crescent at one of the containers, damaging it badly. She then tosses another one towards Gail, who is still struggling to pick herself up.

>Action? roll 1d20.

Pretty unanimous stuff, let's hope we can stay alive until Beatrice gets here.
>>
>>32552520
Try to get Gail out of the way.
>>
You hastily make your way over to Gail position and pull her out of the way, either Gail is actually pretty light or its the massive amount of fear that's pumping adrenaline into your veins, but you pull her out of harm's way without coming to harm yourself. The container that she was leaning on however, was not so lucky.

"What's happening? Carmen answer me!" you stay silent. Realizing that this woman isn't like Pattinson, she's definitely out of your league. There's probably a reason why Beatrice told you not to fight her.

The woman in red cackles. "I guess you're not that cold after all, trying to protect the useless one huh?"

Gail isn't really in any condition to fight either. You finally pull off the blindfold, and watch as she goes from fear to relief and back to fear again. "I told you to run away without me. You could've gotten away a while ago."

All you can do is smile at her, cut the rope enough for her to get out of it and then face the woman in red. Who is gearing up for another red crescent attack.

>Action? (roll 1d20)
>>
Rolled 6

>>32552886
Get in close, and try to make her face away from Gail.
>>
Rolled 9

>>32552886
If we could save Gail from it despite no warning, we should easily be able to dodge now. Just make sure to keep Gail clear of it.
>>
Rolled 10

>>32552886
PUNCH TO THE FACE.
>>
>>32552918
>>32552923
>>32552949
Well shit.
Uh, avoid avoid avoid!
>>
Ignoring Gail's protests, you run in and try to get close to the red woman for a punch. This played out a lot differently in your head. You would get her to face away from Gail, stop her stupid crescent attack and punch her in the face.

Instead, she cancels her red crescent in mid attack and grabs your out stretched arm and...breaks it. You feel intense pain shoot through your entire body. She doesn't even let you the relief of screaming in pain, as she covers your face with her hand and smashes you to the ground. You black out.

---
HP: (3/20)

Over periods of waking and losing consciousness you see a massive wolf fighting and tearing at the woman in red. This time you feel someone carrying you out while see flashes and blurs of Beatrice from time to time, man she's fast. The person you feel carrying your body out doesn't seem like they're doing well either, as they're limping and almost dropped you twice. You fade for what seems like a few seconds.

You're now in the very familiar backseat of Beatrice's BMW and laying on someone's lap. Through process of elimination you figure out its Jessica's lap. You manage to lift your head slightly and look around Beatrice is in the front seat, driving like hell while it looks like Gail is slumped in the front seat. You feel yourself slipping away again.

>Start talking, try to stay awake this time

>Start talking, try to stay awake this time
Sorry I disobeyed Beatrice, but I couldn't watch someone being tortured in front of me.
>>
>>32553281

Let's ask that.
>>
>>32553281
Where's Emma? Also, do we still have the gun?
>>
>>32553281
Cutely 'Oww...' and curl up on Jessica.
>>
"What...what happened?" you feel Jessica jump a little, she looks down at your face. "You're finally awake. That's good." you hear a sigh of relief from the front. "Well you were beaten up pretty bad." you hear Beatrice say. "No, stupid what happened after that?" you hear Beatrice laugh, its different a different laugh from what you usually hear. "Well we got there and she had you pinned down. Which pissed me off of course. I never thought I'd see her again anyway." Beatrice trails off and then continues. "Anyway, long story short, me and Emma fought her off and she ran off with the two vampires that were injured. The human however is in Kwan's custody" you flinch, kind of feeling sorry for the guy.

"Sorry I disobeyed...I couldn't just watch her torturing Gail right in front of me." Beatrice takes a moment. "Kid, I'm not going to scold you for trying to save a friend. That kind of situation is hard to avoid. Gail is kind of mad at you for it though, I'm not sure why. She wouldn't shut up about it and then passed out."

Geez you must be in really bad shape if she's calling you kid. You snuggle in Jessica's lap. "Where's Emma?" Jessica answers this one. "She's running along side us in wolf form. She's alright by the way."

>So you came along for the ride Jessica?

Since I have to sleep, thanks for running. Hope the thread doesn't fizzle out like yesterday's kinda did.
>>
>>32553761
>>So you came along for the ride Jessica?
>>Your lap is really comfy
>>
"And you came along for the ride? I can't believe Beatrice let you." she giggles that trademark giggle. "She would've had to tie me down and she didn't have time for that." you laugh and snuggle some more in her lap. "We had a pretty exciting weekend huh?" you try lifting your head and produce your best smile no matter how much in pain your face is. She responds by pinching your unbruised cheek. "Has anyone told you you're adorable?"

You both kind of awkwardly flirt back and forth until you fall asleep in her lap again.

---
Its been a week of bed rest and pampering and you feel overall better. Your poor broken arm feels a lot better. While Gail was the one that got beaten up first, you were much worse off. So the "guard Jessica" duty fell on her shoulders. They both visited you pretty much every day.

The strangest part of the whole week was Beatrice herself. Constantly checking on how you're doing, looking guilty from time to time. Updating you on what's going on with the search for Armada's hideout and she even had a few normal customers to serve. Her behavior was in fact so weird, she even let you have liberal use of her TV. Emma just awkwardly smiles and nods whenever you bring up her behavior to her.

Finally you've had enough of the weirdness.

>What's up with the weird attitude?
>You haven't told me to do anything today.
>Other(writein)
>>
>>32554212
>Other : "So who was that women ?"
>>
>>32554212
"I'm tired of this, so either give me something to do or tell me what's wrong."
>>
>>32554212
>Other : "So who was that women ?"
First this, then
>You haven't told me to do anything today.
>>
"Who was that woman?" you decide to go for the direct approach. Beatrice actually looks startled for a second. "What woman? You mean on the TV?" she's even half-assing the sarcasm. "No, I mean the woman in the red dress. Who was she? It seems like you know her. You've been acting weird since she beat me up, and you haven't told me to do anything today. I'm mostly healed up you know."

Beatrice paces back and forth, groans, and runs her hand through her hair. You've never seen her this nervous, let alone expressing the emotion of being nervous. Emma finally puts her foot down though. "Beatrice, stop it and just tell her." she says firmly.

Beatrice sighs. "I don't know where to start to be honest, but I never thought she'd even appear in America. Let alone here." she starts muttering to herself. "Stop mumbling Beatrice." Emma scolds her again, Beatrice looks startled and then continues. "Long story short, she sired me a long time ago. Last I heard she goes by Lana Volkov"
>>
>>32554708
"So, she sired you, so what?" you prod.

Beatrice gives you a stern look "And so, she's one of the most dangerous Vampires on earth, she's completely sadistic, ruthless and what she wants she always gets...well except me but that's a story for another time. Her involvement with Armada means they're a lot stronger than we realize." Beatrice laughs. "Even Kwan is in a panic. He doesn't want someone like that roaming the streets. Nobody does."

You decide not to prod for now.
>Well, we should start training me then huh?
>So we'll just have to beat her and Armada
>That's all you were worried about?
>>
>>32554723
>>Well, we should start training me then huh?
I had pretty much expected that.
>>
>>32554723
>That's all you were worried about?
Did you really expect me to back down from a challenge? Don't worry I won't go fight her on my own if I can help it, I'm not that stupid.
>>
"That's all you were worried about? Really?" You stand up and stretch. "Well we should start training me then huh?" your extended use of your blend in darkness ability improved, but that won't help at all during combat. Beatrice and Emma look surprised.

"What's with the looks? Sitting around isn't going to stop Armada or anything." you laugh. "And besides, I want to learn how to move really fast like that."

Beatrice stands up as well and gives you a wicked smile. "If you insist, but I'm going to work you to the bone, I'm going to make sure you regret wanting to learn my secrets! Understand?!" she yells. "Ma'am yes ma'am!" you yell back. Emma just shakes her head in wonder.

Part 1 end.

Do you guys want to see the training arc? It'll be a separate side story
