Your name is Michael Dunkin, and you now work for the Inquisition. Previously you were a sergeant in the 291st Cadian Shock Troopers, but now you find yourself in the company of Inquisitor Christina Massey of the Ordos Xenos. After saving her life at the cost of your men and your life (the old one, at least), you've been officially proclaimed a dead hero and recruited into her retinue. Now, with your new life and future in her hands, you're tasked with looking after Christina's well being. And whatever else that entails.

After arriving back on the Antebellum you remain at Christina's side for a while longer, getting close and personal with one of the xenos before deciding to call it a day. After that, a day of fun ensued as you found yourself being rewarded a new tattoo, given to you completely with consent by Vincent and his armsmen. After that, drinking and dancing ensued, and the next morning to awake a richer man. Now, with Roxy asking for your help, you're already off once more. No rest for the weary, it seems.

"Remind me again. Why am I carrying everything?" You say, balancing both trays of food as best you can.

"Because you're a gentleman," Roxy answers, smiling at you sweetly.

"Remind me again. Why am I a gentleman?"

She lets out a rather unladylike snort.

"Beats me. Now quit your bitching. We're almost there."

The door is just a short walk down from your own bedroom, and as you step inside you find it virtually identical to your own. The main difference is the obvious lack of use, ranging from the layer of dust covering everything to the number of boxes and other containers scattered about.

"Jeeves is gonna have a heart attack when he sees this place," You chuckle, waiting for Roxy to clean the desk a bit before setting down your breakfast.

"Bah. Little guy'll probably just see it as a challenge," Roxy says, taking her plate and plopping down into the chair. Only mildly annoyed at her lack of concern for yourself, you copy her previous move of simply sitting on the desk.

You take a moment to get something in your system, thanking the Emperor for caffeine before turning to your companion. Roxy's tearing into her meal like a Khorne Berzerker, but when she sees you staring she pauses mid-bite.

"Early to start, early to finish," You tell her, and with badly hidden chagrin she nods.

"Yeah, I guess your right," She sighs, retrieving a dataslate from a pocket and beginning to look it over. After a few minutes of silent reading she nods. "Alright. Looks like we got a nice little list going."

She hands it to you and you put your meal aside, taking it and giving it a quick look over. However, you're quick to notice something.

"Some of these are armsmen," You say.

"For the love of the Emperor, do NOT tell Vincent how many there are," Roxy pleads. "He's got a big enough ego as-is."

"I thought you all came from the Progenium," You point out, feeling curious.

"Most of us are. It just never hurts to keep your options open."

"Fair point."

With that you both begin combing through the lists together, looking through each soldiers background and training. You variety is impressive, to say the least, ranging from sharpshooters from death worlds to simple hivers with a knack for explosives. While several good choices come up, you can't help but get the feeling the Sergeant's looking for your final word on the matter.

Over an hour has come and gone, but you're not in too much of a hurry. With breakfast out of the way you can both concentrate on the task at hand, but you can tell Roxy's still far from outright choosing. It's her call as squad leader, but you decide to be nice. In your own way.

"Do you remember Edmond Staker?" You ask her.

"The Arcadian?" Roxy asks, looking up from the list. "I do."

"Urban combat's always a pain in the ass," You muse. "Someone with a knack for leaping and jumping could be a real help."

"I was thinking something similar. If w-"

"But then there's Fernan Dentzi," You cut her off, trying to hide your smirk as her hope quickly deflates. "That Ranger from Asgard looked promising. Did you see the report on Mordian fella? Jaek, I think his name was. You said it right. A nice little list."

By now her look of hopeful expectancy has turned into a full-blown scowl as she's caught onto your game.

"Really?" She asks.

"Really," You nod.

Once more she heaves a sigh, but gives the datasate another thoughtful look. After a minute or two she looks back up.

"Edmond might be a parkour specialist, but he's also got a past of Obscura addiction. I won't have druggies on my team," She says, slowly growing more certain. You give her an encouraging nod. "There's an Elysian, Wyack, who's a close second, and he's clean."

"Sounds like we have our first new recruit," You tell her.

"Yeah," She nods. "I guess we do."

"Who else?"

"Well..."

It's nearly another hour before you're finally done, but in the end Alpha's received three new members. The Elysian Wyack, a Mordian named Burk, and a Scintillian called Casas.

(Cont.)

>>32551456

"That was a major pain in the ass," Roxy grumbles, standing from her seat and stretching.

"At least you had padding," You tell her, doing the same.

"Yeah, well..." She pockets the dataslate and mumbles something you hear clearly.

"What was that?" You ask anyway.

"I said thanks," She scowls, slugging you in the arm. "You didn't have to do this."

"Considering you came barging into my room this morning, I didn't see any other way of getting you out."

"You're an ass, LT."

"I try my best."

Shaking her head, Roxy ushers you out of the room.

"Why don't you ever use that place?" You ask her as she shuts the door behind her.

"The Sergeant's always bunked with their team and just used this place for storage," She answers with a shrug. "It's a nice place to get away for a bit, though. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go shoot or hit something. Thanks again, LT."

"Any time."

Bidding her farewell, you both part ways. You set off intent for the mess hall, but you meet Jeeves shortly after.

"Ah, Master Dunkin," He greets. "Allow me to take that for you."

"Are you sure?" You ask.

"I wouldn't be much of a servant if I let you do everything."

"Fair point."

Though you're uncertain how well this will go, Jeeves gracefully balances the trays on his head. However, rather than heading off he instead follows you.

"It will be a time yet before we reach our destination," He says. "Do you have a plan on how to spend your time, Master Dunkin?"

"Some training never hurt," You tell him, but decide to indulge him. "Why? Do you have a suggestion?"

"Merely ensuring morale and sanity stays at acceptable levels," Jeeves cheerfully explains. "Of course keeping your skills honed is a smart decision, but I feel you're not one to be constantly found in the training yard."

You shrug.

"I'm sure you picked up a hobby or two in your lifetime. I know I certainly did," Jeeves continues. "You need but make a request, and I shall do my utmost to see it fulfilled."

A hobby? Fighting seems to cover it fairly well, but you have faint memories of quieter times. Reading adventure novels in your younger years while you looked over your lasrifle, using music to fill the silence when the noise was allowed. Memories few and far between, but pleasant ones all the same.

"Jeeves."

"Yes, sir?"

"You're a fan of the arts, yes?"

"Very much so!"

"Then you would know to get hold of a few choice items if I asked."

"It would be my honor, sir. What do you request?"

You pause and think it over. You didn't realize it, but perhaps Jeeves was right. There's a lot of things to do outside of the drill yard.

"A Regicide Board," You decide.

"A splendid choice, sir!" Jeeves happily nods, and you watch the trays atop his head teeter with unease. "Anything else?"

"What would be more difficult to find? A harmonica or a guitar?"

"I do believe Captain Delmar has an impressive stockpile of instruments he never uses. Perhaps I could see about asking him."

You DO remember the Captain saying that you could ask him for anything. Perhaps it's time to test that theory?

>Go see the Captain yourself.

>>32552803

"Where would I find the Captain?" You ask.

"At this time? I do believe he's entertaining some of his armsmen," Jeeves answers.

You're not sure what that means, and you're not too sure you WANT to know, but all the same you ask your servant for directions. Jeeves is more than happy to point you in the right direction, and with that he putters off to deal with his cargo.

You remember vaguely that this is in the direction of Delmar's quarters, but following Jeeves' word you branch off down a long ornate hall covered with paintings of the Captain doing various acts of valor.

For some reason, you doubt the authenticity of the actions they depict.

At the end of the hall stands a pair of armsmen on either side of a door, but as you near they simply snap to attention and allow you through without a word. Opening the door, you're assaulted by the sounds of metal striking metal and the rowdy cheering of soldiers.

Stepping inside, you're not overly surprised to find an extravagant sparing hall. In the center of the room is a sizable ring, where Delmar and a pair of armsmen are going at one another with gusto. Around them, around two dozen fellow armsmen cheer the trio on.

You arrive at the edge of the ring just in time to see one of the armsmen to go down, sparks of electricity flashing across him as he falls. Meanwhile, the remaining armsman appears to be seriously rethinking his recent choices in life. Delmar, ever dressed in gold, seems to be having the time of his life.

You decide to let the Captain continue his fun, noting his fighting style as you wait. To be cloaked in flashy clothes and a ridiculous puffy hat, he moves with impressive speed. His strikes come often and without mercy, keeping the poor armsmen backpedaling until there's nowhere else to go.

All too quickly, it comes to an end.

Slowly but steadily losing steam, the larger man allows Delmar to send his sword skittering across the floor. Before he can try and take a swing with his hands a shining boot hooks around his leg and sends him sprawling to the floor. By the time he's figured out what's happened, there's a sword pointing at his neck.

"Do you yield?" Delmar asks him, sounding like he was straight out of an old actionpict.

"Aye," The big man sighs, accepting the Captain's hand and nearly dragging him to the floor with him.

As the Captain dusts himself off and enjoys the love of the crowd you signal to get his attention, and he's quick to spot you.

"Michael!" He grins, pointing his blade at you. "Come to test your mettle, my friend? A hundred throne gelt for whoever can defeat me."

>"Perhaps another time. I have a favor to ask."

"A hundred?" You ask. "You're on."

"Splendid!" Delmar says, ecstatic to have his challenge accepted.

With only minor reservations you retrieve a sparing sword and look it over, testing out the feel and weight of the thing. You'd much prefer a shotgun for close range fighting, but you doubt the rules would allow it.

Old techniques drilled into you soon come back as you take a stance, pacing around the ring with Delmar.

"Is this a common activity of yours?" You ask him.

"I need practice, and money, in my experience, tends to overcome common sense," Delmar chuckles.

Swordsmanship may not be your calling, but now you're settled into what you know.

Without a word you go onto the offensive, much to the crowds approval. Your sword moves quick and cleanly, falling back into old patterns like a glove.

However, Demlar is able to hold his own without too much trouble. Left and right his blade seems to always be there to match your own. His golden cloak flutters in the air as he spins to the right, avoiding another of your strikes and moving to renew his own attack.

In a near constant blur of gold, the Captain's clothing gives off an irritating glow. You do your best to try and not let it bother you, however you can't help but get the feeling this was a purposely made design. Back and farther back you're pushed, much like the last man had been. Sweat trickles down your brow as a particular heavy blow sends you staggering backwards, off-balance.

With a victorious battle-cry Delmar lunges forward, sword raised high to deliver the death blow in a spectacular fashion-

And you stop him, side-stepping the Captain and dealing him a heavy strike across the stomach.

It's enough to send him reeling backwards, an electrical shock mostly mitigated by whatever he's wearing. The crowd goes wild as he hits the floor, somehow getting even louder than before.

Walking over to Delmar, you're surprised when he grins up at you.

"I was not expecting that," He says. "Well played, my friend."

"You had me worried for a while, there," You admit, helping him to his feet. "Good match."

"Very," Delmar nods, his mood untouched by the defeat. Instead, he beams as he retrieves a pouch from his robes and tosses it to you. You catch it, and it makes a satisfying jingling sound. "As promised, my friend."

"I'll put this to good use," You assure him. "But that isn't why I came."

"Oh, really?" He asks, curiosity piqued. "There was more than to see me stew in the agony of defeat?"

"Jeeves told me you're a fan of music."

"On occasion."

"Would you be willing to part with an instrument?"

"Ah," Delmar says, realization striking. "What do you play?"

"A little of this," You shrug. "A little of that."

"What's this?" The Captain gasps, peering at you with fascination. "Is there something else under this simple soldier I am seeing?"

"Maybe," You chuckle. "So can you help me?"

"But of course, my friend! Come, come, come. I will show you what you desire."

Having already figured out people around here love to talk, you're more than happy to let Delmar do so for the both of you. You take some interest in the two men who seem to constantly follow him, but you decide to actually pay attention to the Captain's words.

"For many years I have loved the sound of music, no matter the type or player," Delmar explains as you walk. "Over the years I have gathered many instruments, though I admit I have had little time to learn any of them. Instead, I let others play while I simply enjoy their creation. A fair trade, I say."

You find the Captain growing on you, but his blatant waste of money still make you pause. An entire storage room full of more instruments than you knew existed is enough, but for it to have a marble fountain in the center just seems a bit too much.

Even so, the fact that he's giving you free reign keeps any possible remarks firmly to yourself.

It takes a bit of time scrounging through the various piles, but before long you've got the two items you thought of. By the time the Captain checks in on you you're sitting on the edge of the fountain, harmonica in your pocket and guitar in your lap. However, you couldn't help but notice the oddly modest piano sitting nearby.

"You like?" Delmar asks.

"I do," You nod, grateful. "Many thanks, Captain."

"No need for your thanks, my friend. I do, however, have a request."

You raise a curious brow.

"Would you care to give me a taste of the tormented soul that plays through your music?" Delmar asks wistfully. "It has been ever so long since I have met a soldier who loves music as much as I do."

An old want is nagging at you, coming back all the way from your time in the Schola. Warily eyeing the closed door you look back to Delmar.

"There are no recording devices in here, are they?" You ask.

"Now there's an idea!" Delmar snaps his fingers, and you sigh in relief.

"Alright," You agree. "Just... don't tell anyone I can do this."

"My lips are sealed, my friend," Delmar promises, laying a hand over his heart.

"Good," You place the guitar aside and signal the Captain to follow. His anticipation only grows when you take a seat behind the piano. "A flamer trooper taught me this once. A bit on the crazy side, but a good guy all the same."

Flexing your fingers, you take a moment to remember where everything is. After a few testing key strokes, you begin in earnest. You never credited yourself as much of a singer, but you decide there's nothing to lose by it.

And that one is yoou... no other will do...'

It's a slow, almost sad yet touching song. You're not sure of the original artist, but it grew on you over time. Soon enough the song comes to an end, and in it's place loud and happy applause.

"Bravo!" Delmar praises you. "Very, very well done, my friend! I must ask you to play again sometime!"

"I don't know about that..."

"There will be many thrones involved."

"We'll see. So I can take these two?"

"Of course, of course! Take them and make your merry music. I know they will be in good hands."

With your newest belongings stashed away or strapped across your back, you thank the Captain one last time before bidding them both goodbye. You pause at your quarters to put both of them away, and a quick glance at the clock shows that it's almost noon.

You decide to head for the mess and see if you spot a face you recognize. It's a short trip as you slowly but surely learning the layout of the ship, and you arrive to see the typical crowd settling in. A quick glance around the room proves to show a number of familiar figures.

Though he's facing away from you, you're fairly certain you see Hassan with a group of fellow armsmen who seem to be listening intently to whatever he's saying.

Gathered around with Mikel and a few other armsmen, Vincent is leaned back in his chair and is holding something that looks suspiciously like an ice pack to his head.

In their typical spot away from everyone, Roxy and the rest of Alpha seem to be excitedly chatting with one another about something or another.

You approach the Commander's table and find an empty seat, letting your tray hit the table with a just-too-loud thud. Vincent winces in turn, looking up to stare in disbelief.

"How the FUCK are you standing?" He grumbles.

"Some good caffeine, an iron liver, and faith in the Emperor," You answer, sitting.

"Damn kids..." He growls in response. "What the hell happened last night, anyway?"

"That's a good question, actually," You shrug.

"Heh. Guess that's a good sign. How about you, Mik? Anything come to mind?"

The Priest stares at him a few seconds before shaking his head and returning to his meal.

"So I take it you're doing well?" You ask.

"Eh, I've been worse," Vincent shrugs. "Only had to kill three people this morning for blinking too loud."

You're not sure if he's kidding.

Seeing as the Commander isn't feeling too chatty, you turn to the Priest who seems more interested in his food than any conversation.

"Excuse me, Father?" You ask, slightly louder than normal. You hear Vincent swear quietly.

He looks up at you.

"I was curious about how you came to be part of Lady Massey's retinue," You explain.

"That's a long and fairly uneventful tale," Mikel answers, smiling. "I'm afraid you wouldn't find it very interesting."

"What about after you joined? I'm sure you have a few interesting stories to tell."

He seems to think this over and you notice some of the other conversations at the table dying down. Apparently he isn't normally one for extended conversation.

"Perhaps," Mikel admits. "Do you know of the Waaagh of Carano?"

"Know it?" You ask, gaping. "I fought it! Which continent were you on? East or west?"

"Both. First east, then west in the final assault. Lady Massey had given me orders to support Sergeant Walkens and Alpha team as she investigated... well, I suppose that's saying a bit too much," Mikel laughs. "I do remember seeing Cadians there. Which regiment?"

"The 291st," You answer.

"Ah, yes, now I remember," He strokes the short, trimmed grey beard he sports. "Well, the Inquisitor did what she wanted but there was still a warboss to deal with. Normally that would be left to the Guard, but there was a problem. Cut off from the others inside the fortress, two rather stupid men decided to do something equally stupid."

"We lived, didn't we?" Vincent snorts beneath his ice pack.

"For the most part," Mikel shakes his head. "Well, sure enough the warboss was having a time fighting the guardsmen assaulting his fortress, and didn't see the two humans approaching from behind until the rest of his honor guard was dead."

"Honor guard?" Vincent snorts. "The tallest one was just over eight feet tall."

Giving the Commander a patient look, Mikel continues.

(Cont.)
>>
>>32557612

"So it was the two of us against a very angry warboss. I had my shotgun, and Vincent his hellgun and dagger. I'm still not sure how we survived it. He came at us yelling and firing wild, and we both came rushing in to meet him. I started rearranging his bowels with my shotgun while Vincent played rodeo, firing into the thing's armored head atop it's shoulders."

"Most fun ride of my life," Vincent tells you.

"By the time I was out of ammunition it was on it's last leg. Quite litterally, considering the other was laying in a puddle nearby. Vincent lost his balance-"

"-I was KNOCKED off-"

"-and it was ready to cut him to shreds with it's power claw. I... may have overreacted," Mikel says, abashed.

"What happened?" You asked, acting as the voice of the rest of the table.

"He punched the damn thing in the eye," Vincent answers. "Popped the damn thing like a grape and tore out his brain. Damn tiny, it was."

Everyone sits back and lets the story sink in, and you find yourself having trouble keeping your grin away. You remember every so vaguely the sight of the ork warboss, a bloody mess, and wondering where the Astartes was that had done the deed.

With that lunch winds down and once more people begin to scatter. Though you're not too sure if Melodi even NEEDS food, you decide to grab her something anyway before heading down to Engineering.

The familiar sounds and smells of a motor pool assault your senses as you disembark the elevator, a welcome felling of familiarity setting in. The Tech Priests you pass eye you with mild interest, especially at the contents your carrying, but since you stay out of their way they don't make too much of a fuss over you.

You find Melodi at her workbench once more, face planted firmly against the top of is as she sleeps. Do Tech Priests normally sleep? You've never seen one do so before, so you're a bit uncertain on the whole thing.

Seeing as you didn't say what food we grabbed.

Toothpicks in sandwich.

Olive eyes.

"Melodi I am the great sandwich-dini I have been on a long and dangerous journey and I must take take refuge. The Great sandwich-dini demands a cave!" and then we poke her face with the great sandwich-dini.

I don't think any of this is in character to Dunkin but it entertained me.
>>
>>32558215

You approach her quietly, careful to avoid making any more noise than you need. You ponder how to wake her, ideas coming and going until you finally decide.

Her mechadendrite droops against the table, twitching ever so slightly. Cautiously, you run a finger down a stretch of tubing to little response. Growing bolder, you take two and gently pry open one of the mechadendrite's, hearing the servos whir softly.

Melodi murmurs something you don't quite catch, moving about a moment before going still once more.

Using your thumb as well, you pry the second of the three fingers open, moving them open and closed. Your other hand begins to gently moves it back and forth ever so slightly. The limb moves freely, gears purring softly as they move to and fro. You hear Melodi mutter something again, louder than before, stirring in her sleep once more.

"Nnn... nu.... noo..." She whines quietly, face growing pinched in something you can't quite tag down.

You continue, increasing your movements ever so slightly. You reach out for the third and final finger of the mechadendrite-

-and it latches down on you in a death grip as Melodi shoots up. The pain is enough to send you down onto a knee, letting out a grunt as you do so.

"N-NO!" She gasps, hair ruffled and hood pulled back. She stays frozen for several seconds then blinks several times, as if in a daze, before seemingly realizing she's currently crushing your hand. Still not totally awake, she blinks once more as she stares, having yet retracted her metal limb.

Her expression darkening, you're not too sure about this. However, it's too late to go back now. Kneeling, you pull back your pants leg and show her your leg. The dent is still there; not too large, but enough to be noticeable. At this reveal, Melodi's face changes from one of anger to complete worry.

Sighing, you reach into your pocket and withdraw a pouch filled with last night's earnings along with Delmar's. You give it a small shake and Melodi scowls, looking between it and you.

"Alcohol was involved," You say.

"And?" She asks.

"Commander Vincent."

"And?"

"...dancing."

"...dancing," She repeats, staring blankly.

"Dancing," You confirm.

Sighing, the Tech Priest's palm slaps against her forehead as she grumbles incoherently.

"Here I was thinking we'd finally picked up a normal one," She complains, "But nooo, everybody on here has to be craaazy..."

"Is it hurt?" You ask her.

"Of course it is!" She snaps.

"I meant enough to hinder movement."

"It's made up of lighter stuff that goes into carapace. A few direct hits from high caliber rifles could prove a problem. Drunken shenanigans, however, do not."

You breath a sigh of relief at that, the main problem having been avoided. You're not sure how Christina would react if she'd had to pay for a new leg. Or maybe she'd just give you back your old one? You shudder at the thought.

"It's gonna bug me, but there's no serious harm done," She says. "Unless you'd allow me to buff it back new, there's nothing really needing to be done."

She goes to respond, but instead sighs and shakes her head. She signals for you to take a seat and you hop up on the workbench. With practiced ease she begins going about loosening the restraints and joints on your leg. A familiar and utterly unwanted feeling of dipping your leg in ice cold water floods through you as it comes free, but you grit your teeth and bear with it.

You lean back on the workbench and watch Melodi work for a time in silence. Her hands move with skilled certainty, never still for longer than needed before moving onto some new piece or instrument. It's only a simple repair, but her concentration is as serious as ever when working on something.

"So... what specialty are you?" You ask her. "With machines, I mean."

"Never really got around to finding a specialty," She answers with a shrug. "I'm a good at a little bit of everything. Does that count?"

"Well enough," You shrug. "A rifleman can do more than a sharpshooter, just not as well with some things."

"Huh," She pauses, giving you a thoughtful look. "Never thought of it that way."

"You get a funny view of things in the Guard," You tell her. "On that note, any stories of your adventures with Lady Massey? I'm sure you've got a few."

"I'm the Team Medic, remember?" She asks. "They don't let me out of the house unless it's 100% secure. All the shooting and stabbing goes to everybody else. I just fix stuff."

"Ah, come on. You've got to have SOMETHING interesting to tell. I'll tell one of mine from back in the day if you share."

"Maybe another time, Mikkey boy. A girl's got to have some secrets of her own, ya know?"

You don't want to get her going again, but you've never seen a Tech Priest tired before. Or sleep. or eat. Something's bugging you.

"How're you doing?" You ask her.

"Fine," She answers, looking for a tool. "You?"

"Oh, don't give me that crap," You say. "You seem pretty ragged, like you could use a friend. I'm not offering backrubs or anything, unless you're into that, but I'm just sayin', you seem like someone a grunt could and should get to know pretty well. I'd hate for me to lose a body part and have you not be familiar with me enough to know how big it should be when you sew the new one on."

This causes Melodi to outright halt in her repairs, putting down her tools and turning to you with a bemused expression.

"Are you a mutant?" She asks.

"Not since I last ch-"

"Are you or have you ever been a servitor?"

"No."

"Took a recent swim in radiation?"

"Not that I'm aware of."

"Then I know exactly where all your bits are. Even the ones YOU don't know about. Not that I'm complaining about the offer, but it's just not a life-or-death thing you need to do to make sure I can patch you up."

With that she returns to her work, and you have a hard time coming up with something to say. With nothing drastic in mind, you stay simple.

"So you DON'T want a friend?" You ask.

"I never said that, Mikkey," Melodi chuckles. "I just don't want you doing it just cause you feel like I'm gonna botch a stitching job because you didn't stop by and say hi one day. That's not how surgery works."

"Yeah... right."

"I never ask anybody to come down here, so you don't have to feel like you HAVE to do it. If I want something, believe me, you'll know."

With that she turns back to you with leg in hand, now good as new and with a fresh shine to it. As quickly as she took it off Melodi goes about returning it back to it's rightful place, and after a few minutes your moving it without trouble. Not that there was any before.

However, as you go to stand a hand is put in your face and Melodi watches you expectantly.

"Ten gelt," She tells you.

"Seriously?" You ask.

"Seriously."

Sighing, you delve into your freshly gotten funds and bring out a handful of coins. Letting them fall into her hand, Melodi inspects each one carefully before nodding.

"Looks clean," She tells you, extending her hand. "Pleasure doing business with you."

"Uh huh," You say, accepting the handshake.

Not long after one of Melodi's companions arrive, asking her something in binary. Thanking you again for your money and the food, she shoos you off to deal with whatever problem there is now.

Alright, quick question before we continue. There's still several days before you exit the warp and get to explore a completely safe and secure Hive World. Do you guys want to play it out a while longer or just go ahead and perform a time-skip? I leave it completely up to you.

she's got my whooole leg, in her hand... she's got my whole wide leg... in her hand. o/`

Time skip. we can ERP another time.

Captcha: Sentations joyearse

Honestly cant think of much else to do other then practice shoting stuff
>>
>>32560929
Time skip time!
>>
damnit why'd the fedoradouche option get put in
>>32560929
I personally prefer playing stuff out and talking with the crew
>>
Alright, looks like we're all agreed for a time-skip.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut it here, but as always I can stay for a minute for any possible suggestions/complaints/whatever.

I'm HOPING next quest will be Thursday, but we'll just have to wait and see.
>>
>>32560929
Let's time skip, with perhaps a training, drilling with alpha squad, and carousing montage.
>>
>>32560929
I'd play through it.
>>
>>32561053
Can we ask the captain for flowers? .. or can we bum a welder and weld up some gearflowers to send to melodi? Since our unsubtle hint was missed, we might as well try out-right courting her. :D

Uh....I don't know what your implying Anon!
>>
>>32561053
only real complaint I have was about including that little rant in the last story post. I feel like it flew in the face of the rest of our interaction with Melodi, which was that we enjoy talking with her and actually want to spend more time with her

other than that, great quest and looking forward to the next one
>>
>>32561149

Yeah really it was pretty painful to read and there was no reason to include it.
>>
>>32561109
...What hint?
>>
>>32561242
i think he means the back rub thing.
>>
>>32561242
>>32561149
>>32561224
It was included because he was kinda being a dick. "I wanna be your "friend" so you can know me top to bottom to do your job better"... She came back firm. Effectively, saying "No thanks, lets keep it professional" It was harsh, because rejection is harsh. Good writing
>>
>>32561280
but that whole speech shouldn't have been included. everyone ignored it and voted better options because we knew it was a dickish thing to say
>>
>>32561316
I agree... but then, QM privilege. Like the QM general thread says, QMs are dumb and players are idiots.
>>
>>32561280
Only in that dialogue suggestion was those intentions ever apparent, point is none of that should have happened if nobody supported the suggestion.
>>
>>32561316
true, i think op included it since no one said no to it.
>>
>>32561280
that's the rant I'm upset about being included. Melodi's comeback fits well but shouldn't have been needed
>>
>>32561348
whelp, looks like I'll have to downvote every stupid idea and eat up the post limit
>>
>>32561348
Caveat venditor
>>
I was going on the thought process that >>32560338 supported it and all the others, but I suppose from now on I'll be more careful on what I add in. No need to worry about down-voting every crappy idea, I'll just concentrate more on highly voted stuff.
>>
>>32561484
its all good. Anons are probably just upset because it killed any gains we would have gotten with mecha-waifu
>>
>>32561484
No I wasn't supporting the others. I was saying their over-eager comments to get into Melodi's pants would cause you to go, surprise Melodi is a lesbian or something like that.
>>
>>32561484

>>32560338 is pretty blatantly laughing at all the ideas. He is basically right about what happened though
>>
>>32561711
>>32561590
>>32561484
Well what's done is done, hopefully all the ERPs now realize, while funny, the character interactions don't need to be forced so quickly. Also seeing how my comment was the one that caused this fiasco I think I'll refrain from commenting next thread, so here's to next time
>>
>>32561964
before you post again, burn your fedora collection, bathe, and talk to real women
>>
>>32561964
I'm not really sure how you fit so much stupidity in that post or so badly missed why people complained
>>
>>32561995
>>32562059

Ok, well I'm sorry it's almost 2am and I'm a bit tired. My complaint in >>32561964 was the general trying to get into Melodi's pants which I made fun of in >>32560338 which I thought would cause something bad to happen. Yes, I understand that other people where complaining that the "I wanna be your 'friend'..." comment, and OP said that because of >>32560338 he included it, so it was my fault it was included. I'm not sure I see the reason for the hostility but I'm tired and maybe I'll read it tomorrow and think "huh that really was a dumb comment to make", again sorry.

>>32563043
What is a "woman",bugs?
Can we eat it?
>>
>>32563043
I made the comment that the QM put in. Honestly, I was half honest, half trolling. There seemed to be such an ERP hardon (excuse the expression?) that going for "I don't know how to deal with women I want" would cause people to ease off. I should of put a disclaimer on it that it wasnt an >other suggestion.
>>
>>32563043
