Characters and Gunpla: http://pastebin.com/3LqzgPEU

You are JACK FOULKE, an amateur Gunpla Fighter with dreams to make your own mark on the Gunpla battle scene!

Well, for better or worse, the weekend was over, and it was back to school for you. Considering you didn't that much sleep this weekend, you were in typical Monday mode. That is, half dead and not really in a mood to pay attention in class. Fortunately for you, 2/3 of the class was in the exact same situation as you.

However, you noticed that there was a lot of mumbling and whispering going around, like some sort of conspiracy was going on and you weren't sure what.

"Hey, what's going on?" You lean over to Mac. "Are we getting a pop quiz today?"

"God, I hope not." Mac frowns. "Though from what I can tell, Karen came through for us. We got bumped up to 12th for beating Team Behemoth."

Well, you figure that would be enough to get people talking. A new, unknown team coming out of nowhere to take down an established one? That would catch a lot of people off guard.

"All right class, settle down." Your homeroom teacher walks in, similarly tired. "There are no major announcements for today, so you have a free period for now."

With that, the class bursts into conversation. Of course, the subject was Behemoth's loss to you.

"I heard they got beat by a GM-"

"The other team was literally shooting each other..."

"Ha, only those losers could somehow fuck up a game with a Val Varo."

"Hey." One of your classmates, whose name you can't quite recall at the moment, leans in. "Were you at the tournament this weekend?"

"Oh yeah, I was there. In fact, it was our team that beat Behemoth." You say with a grin.

"You're shitting me." Your classmate blanches.

"Take a look at this." You whip out your cell phone and bring up the picture of you and your fellow teammates at the award ceremony for winning the 3v3.

Your classmate's eyes widen in surprise.

"Oh yeah, and for the record, there WAS a GM in that battle." You say, taking out your Juggler to hammer the point home.

Your classmate whips around to tell his buddies what you just told him. They all glance your way for a second before turning back and whispering conspiratorially.

"Boy, you sure are popular all of the sudden." Mac leans in and grins.

"I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not." You grumble.

"Well, you'll have more friends, right?" Lucina adds helpfully.

"Or enemies."

"Such a cynic." She sighs.

You then see a student dash out the door. Your homeroom teacher doesn't even give him a second glance, so you assume something like that was normal. You don't really pay any more attention to it and just weather the rest of homeroom period until the bell rings.

And already, you can see the swarm of students ready to bear down on you...

Hey guys, I had a thought. According to the small amount of research I did, the reactive armor on the Zaku Amazing was kitbashed from a plamo tank. So, logically, we could get some T-62 style smoke projectors to lay down concealment when we need to break contact, or conceal one of our balls.

"Crap, RUUUUUUUN!" You scream.

Fortunately, you manage to make it to the relative safety of first period. You just take a deep breathe and slide into your seat. Lucina and Mac did a good job running interference for you. You'd have to thank them for that later. Pity they had a different first period than you, though.

As you start taking stuff out of your backpack, you notice a neatly prepared envelope sitting on your desk. Curious, you pick up and read the letter within.

We need to build a Gundam Slayer.
We need to sit down and figure out the exact weaknesses of the Gunpla Club's builds, then build a team designed specifically to tale them apart.
I've already spotted one. Due to heavy use of Gundams they're heavy on beam weapons. This makes ABC a smart investment.

You suspect you knew what they wanted. After seeing you were good after all, they wanted to try and recruit you. Well, fuck them. They had their chance. You crumple up the letter and toss it into the trash can. You didn't particularly care if anybody saw you or not. You had no regrets and you get through first period with no problem.

During the second period break you cross paths with Karen and manage to stop her and tell her about the note you received.

"I got the exact same thing." Karen nods.

"And what did you do with it?" You ask.

"Tore it up, of course." She says flatly. "I would be disappointed if you didn't either."

"Yeah, I pretty much dumped it, too." You shrug. "But why would they reach out to us? We're only 12th place, which in the whole scope if things isn't really that high."

"Know thine enemy." Karen says. "They're trying to get a measure of who we are and what we're capable of under the guise of possible recruitment."

"You know this for sure?"

"I've seen them do it before." Karen says darkly. "The Gunpla Club, especially Kenneth, are not the type to swallow their pride easily."

"Kenneth? Sounds like you've got a past with them." You say.

"You could say that." Karen sighs. "I've known Kenneth since middle school. We were both in our middle school's Gunpla Club, butt... something in him changed. Or maybe it was always there and I just never noticed."

"What?" You blink.

"After a while, Kenneth's tactics started getting more and more ruthless." Karen sighed. "He'd use very unpopular tactics, casually exploit and sacrifice teammates in team battles, anything he could do to get an edge. Eventually, all our team members quit and went their separate way.s. One member was so disillusioned she quit Gunpla entirely."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah..." Karen looks away sadly. "It happened in one game where he used her Gunpla as a shield. The last words I ever heard from her were 'I wish I never got into Gunpla'."

At this point you notice your hands were clenched into fists and you have to remind yourself to relax them. You also see Karen's usually cool and stoic demeanor was cracking slightly, revealing genuine sorrow and pain at having to recall that memory.

"Hey Karen, I'm sorry if I'm dredging up bad memories..."

"It's nothing." Karen rubs one of her eyes. "Bad memories make us who we are. They shouldn't be forgotten."

"All right." You nod. And let me guess, Kenneth is in this current Gunpla Club."

"In it? He's the President of it." Karen shakes her head.

"Oh..."

"Anyways, break's about to end." Karen shakes her head and puts a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "Don't worry about it. Short of beating him in a battle, ignoring him is pretty much the best you can do right now."

The next couple of periods seem to fly by and all of a sudden it's already lunch break. As a perk for getting up to 12th place, you actually had the privilege of getting dismissed early or lunch like the upperclassmen, which you were totally going to take advantage of. As you stood in the wonderfully short line, you wonder what you were going to do.

You decide to give a call to Mac and Lucina to see where they were at. However, neither of them answer their phones. Then again, that shouldn't be surprising. Students were discouraged from using phones on campus, even during break periods. Either that or they were somewhere crowded and simply couldn't hear.

Shrugging, to walk over to Amy and tap her on the shoulder to grab her attention.

"That... doesn't really explain anything." You frown.

"Well, everybody knows that red is the color of a hero!" Amy laughs.

"That's it?" You blink.

"Shouldn't that be enough?" She grins. "My siblings totally love it!"

Well, you guess you really couldn't fault her for that. She was still a bit of an odd one, though.

You take a quick glance at your cell phone. You sent Mac and Lucina a text message earlier, but they still haven't responded.

"Hey Amy, I'm gonna try and find Mac and Lucina. Wanna come with?"

"Sure!" Amy nods and cheerfully waves goodbye to Jake and Karen as you both leave the team room.

"So... I assume you're a fan of Gundam Wing." You say.

"My favorite series!" Amy nods rapidly. "I guess I'm sort of a sucker for a small team of heroes facing impossible odds!"

"Why Deathscythe, specifically?"

"Well, I dunno. When I was picking out my first Gunpla, it just sort of well... SPOKE to me, I guess. It's hard to explain, but it felt like I was MEANT to get one, if you know what I mean."

You sort of didn't, but you really didn't have a right to call out other people on their Gunpla choices. You got a GM as your first, after all.

"And I guess it sorta helps that you totally had a crush on Duo, didn't you?"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about!" Amy huffs.

Yeah, she totally did. Truth be told, when you first saw Wing you probably would've gone gay for Duo, too.

WAIT. FOCUS.

"Seen any other series?"

"A few." Amy nods. "Um, G, X, SEED, 00, and Unicorn are what I remember off the top of my head right now..."

Well, that was a respectable list. Could stand to watch some more UC series though...

You've also gotta figure out where Mac and Lucina went off to.

The suit itself or custom building an NT-D into it? Because the only thing the NT-D does by itself is allow the suit to seize control of enemy funnel weapons. The switch of the Unicorn and Banshee into removed limiters and moar thrusters and weapons is what makes it stupid on them.

If it's the suit itself....shenanigans is the name of the game.

You know, the Deathscythe Hell's wings do fold around it like the Master's do. There are some definite design similarities. Maybe her upgraded suit will be a Master Scythe or something like that.

>>32624132
Would your design accept converting the Planet Defensers to serve as reflector bits as well as shields? Because as dumb as I know this is going to sound, there's this one SEED fanfic where Kira has that and it's actually pretty awesome. Instead of providing his own beamspam he just grabs and redirects his enemies' fire. It changes him from just standing back and blasting away to having a more battlefield control-focused fighting style. The shields block off avenues of attack while the reflectors give him incentive to provoke foes into attacking him instead of his teammates. I think that could work really well for our style, too.
>>
>>32624287
Please see what I wrote above. What makes the Unicorn and Banshee broken with NT-D is the extra things that are unlocked when it goes NT-D. This would be something we only pull out against another NT-D user. Because without a way to counter it, NT-D royally fucks us and our entire team up the ass without lube.

While I don't jive with his Kshatriya obsession, most top-tier Gunpla fighters have shit that just does insane shit with Plavsky particles. Like Sengoku Astray with the pseudo-chinese Ki punches. So, yes. The only way we'll be able to scratch the top tiers is with broken stuff. The only difference we'd have with the douchebags on the gunpla club would be that we actually play for fun, and not some sort of no-fun tryhard.

"Huh, you think they could be at the gym?" You wonder aloud.

"We might as well check." Amy smiles. "Even if we don't find them there, at least we can catch a battle!"

"I guess." Your shrug as you make your way towards the gym. "Why a scythe, anyways? Isn't that a weapon typically reserved for evil characters?"

"Weapons aren't inherently good or evil. Only the people who use them are." Amy says in a lecturing tone.

"I guess you have a point there." You concede. "By the way, have you used any of the prize money to upgrade your Deathcscythe?"

"Oh, I'm thinking on a few things!" Amy grins.

"Like what?"

>SCARF OF THE HERO: A scarf composed of memory cloth that hardens when saturated with plavsky particles. In game terms, the scarf can harden into a monomolecular blade capable of cutting through even Gundanium.
>MASS DRIVER UPGRADE: Replaces the Rozen gunscythe's chemical propulsion system with a magnetic rail, greatly increasing firepower and accuracy.

perhaps, though not sure how successful it'd be in the first place.

I wonder how it'd compare to the Ex-S Gundam, both being old type remote MS (though I wouldn't be surprised if the Ex-S was stronger as the Z/ZZ era had suits with a concentration of power/performance) while CCA/UC had suits focused on ease of prodcution/etc (I.e. the mook suits in CCA were weaker than the top stuff in ZZ but were generally more affordable/etc)

These all sound pretty awesome, and she should definitely get them all eventually. But for now she needs defense. She's doing okay for weapons, but she could stand to have some more defense.

Actually, a thought occurs to me: How do solid ammunition weapons work in Gunpla Battle? It's not like the model kits have little tiny bullets included. Magazines, yeah, and often times individual missiles, but no bullets. Are they just Plavsky constructs like the terrain is? How does the game know how much ammo you have left, then?

It'd be moronic to limit our options just to prove some point. That and what better to take down heavily hyped OP mechs than a 'forgotten' mech?
>>
>>32624534

>>
>>32624535
We don't need to use incoms at all, since Gunpla Battle doesn't care if you're a Newtype when it comes to remote weapons. Likewise, any technology is really just there as inspiration to help guide our building. We can build machines that have no equivalent in the franchise. Let's build something awesome, and to hell with the canon. I mean, look at what Amy's upgrades are. None of that has any basis in the show. If you want to ditch the Balls, go ahead. I have no particular attachment to them. But don't discount them because in-character they're bad.

I'm just pointing out that you can pretty much fit anything and everything including the kitchen sink in those wings. Here's the suits full armament.

Beam Saber

The Kshatriya is armed with a total of six beam sabers for melee combat. Two are located in the forearms to allow for quick responses to close combat threats and can be used as beam gun when stored, while the remaining four are hidden — together with four sub-arms — in the Kshatriya's binders.

Machine Cannon

Weapons that fire live ammunition, they are mounted in the chest, between the Mega Particle Cannons. These are used mostly to intercept small missiles.

Funnels

The Kshatriya is armed with a grand total of twenty-four funnels for all-range attacks. Each funnel possesses a powerful beam gun that is capable of melting an enemy mobile suit's armor. Six are stored within each of the Kshatriya's four binders, and are remotely controlled primarily through use of the psychoframe-equipped cockpit. These funnels are used primarily to allow the Kshatriya to engage large numbers of enemies at the same time, or to allow it to overwhelm a powerful foe. However, they are shown to be vulnerable to the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam's NT-D System.

Mega Particle Cannon

The Kshatriya is armed with an incredible twelve mega particle cannons. Four are mounted on the chest, giving the Kshatriya great firepower in its forward arc. They can be fired together to create a single and very powerful linked beam, or to fire a scattering beam in a manner similar to a shotgun. Two more of these cannons are mounted on each binder, allowing the Kshatriya to fight off enemies from virtually any direction.

Beam Gatling Gun

To further increase its firepower, the Kyshatriya can equip up to six beam gatling guns.

In addition to this I'm suggesting we add the following: cont.

Planet Defensors

A weapon that is controlled by the pilot and is used to defend the Mercurius or any other mobile suit from a impending attack. They are small disc-shaped objects which are capable of generating an almost-impenetrable energy shield. They are able to repel just about any attack, even from the buster rifle of the XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero. (Upgrade these to also function as reflectors to focus and bounce beams across the battlefield in ways the opponent will never suspect.)

INCOM Claw

These are the main weaponry of the Rozen Zulu, each equipped with a pair of mega beam cannons of adjustable output. Each of these "claws" are wire-guided and controlled by the quasi-psycommu system. (Use four of these in the wings replacing the wing manipulators. Trust me, they'll fit.)

You decide to continue searching through the crowd, with Amy close behind. Every so often, you take a glance at the table. From what it looks like, the red Zaku was facing off against a Gundam Virsago.

Couldn't care less even if you were president of the universe. I'm pretty sure most people here don't like to be railroaded on to someone else's hard-on. I think it's best if we keep our options open until everyone knows what they want.

I just hope it doesn't get as bad as the waifu wars of Valk Mercs. I know Merc Command still remembers those days "fondly".
>>
>>32625104
The reason I suggest the Kshatriya is it is the logical conclusion of the play style that we're using. Seriously. If we include the Balls (and we can not do that as well, though they'd make excellent recon and relay units allowing us to laser comm, ECM, ECCM, jam, and spy) that's a total of 52 sub-units. The reflection upgrade, combined with the sheer versitility of the Planet Defensors allows us to have an unparalleled level of battlefield control. And against shit like the Gunpla club, that is going to be ABSOLUTELY essential.

I agree with you, for the most part. It would serve the role we're building to quite nicely. But I don't really like the Kshaitraya. It's so bulky, and not very maneuverable. I'd rather have a sleeker suit. Something like the Strike Freedom, actually, just changed to fit our play style instead of being beamspammy. Though that could be too close to the Gunpla Club's style. We're the GM guy now, we've established a reputation.
>>

I wouldn't say it'd be very unmaneuverable as those 'wings' serve as extra thrusters, though Mirida's style seems to lean on funnels.

>>32625552
Nah it's fine, like I stated above I'm just laying out an option. But honestly, most of the Funnel/Bit using suits are pretty bulky. And the ones that aren't usually don't carry many of them, and with a strategy like that, it's kinda like tokens in MtG or Purifiers in 40k, it's either all in or not at all.

"Come on guys, let's get the hell out of here." You say, pushing past the Club goons and creating a gap for Mac and Lucina to follow you through. While you had no doubt Mac and Lucina could handle themselves, "handling", especially in Lucina's terms, usually equated to "beating the shit out someone." You did not want to see either of your friends getting suspended.

"This isn't over." You hear the Club goon scowl. You just ignore him and keep going.

"What the hell was that all about?" You ask.

"Eh, they were just trying to shake us down for info." Mac shook his head. "You know, what kind of Gunpla we used, who was on our team, stuff like that."

"We didn't tell them anything, by the way."

"I appreciate that." You nod.

"Man, that's no heroic at all." Amy frowns. "Got half a mind to teach them a lesson or three."

"Maybe another time, Amy." You chuckle.

There's another, louder cheer and that's when you realize the battle is over. Of course, Charlotte's gunpla won, and the Virsago lays in a smoking heap. Too bad you missed it. It seemed like an awesome battle.

What I'm insulted by is being told I'm shoving the idea down other peoples throats. I've done nothing of the sort. But that's thing we've proven to be good with the suit. Both range and melee combat. The extra guys we bring into the fight just stacks the odds a bit more. Adding more weight of fire from us. I really don't want to see that going away just because people think it's a stupid gimmick or something when we've proven thus far that it works.

>>32625798
Oh, I have no objection to our current style. I was just saying that in response to the guy who wanted to change to a no remote weapons build. If we want to do it, we need to do that now, because it won't matter if the GM can adapt if we can't. At the very least we would have to switch off between the two builds every so often so we get equal experience with both.

As much as you would have liked to meet up with Charlotte, you were still a student, and therefore still had obligations to fulfill, like getting to class on time. You reluctantly head to your next period, but you make sure to pass by Charlotte, who's packing up her Zaku. You see a large VISITOR badge pinned to her shirt, explaining why she was here. You give her a smile and a thumbs up and she smiles back and gives you a small wave.

And it's back to class. Honestly, it's the same old boring crap as always, but you power through it. Finally, the final bell rings and the students begin to disperse, eager to get this Monday over with.

You know most of your team would probably be heading to the Hobby Shop, and you'd probably see Charlotte there, too. However, you were pretty damn tired and a little eager to go straight home.

You then get a text from Karen saying she's going to be staying in the team room for a little longer and not to wait for her. Huh, that was a bit odd. She was always punctual and rarely changed plans last minute.

Beam Rifle 2X (400)
Beam Spear (150)

Optional
Heat Knife (50)
Panzefaust 3X (150)

Improve our melee and increase the firepower of our Ball

Good idea?
>>
>>32625966
I still don't see why we need the beam spear when we made a point to stay away from melee when we can. When we do go into melee we tend to smash into the opponents so they can't get away. A spear is just counter productive in my eyes for the way we fight.
>>
>>32625966
>>32626005
Also, wouldn't we have to drop the twin-auto cannons for the beam rifles? Unless we can twin-link the rifles onto the units.
>>
>>32625966
>>32626005
So how do they prevent beam spears being cut at the handle?
>>
>>32626005
Plus, if we end upgrading to a GM III, we get one for free.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3jNep1Ywc8
>>
>>32626005
But the spear gives us more range, if we need to have some distance, it will be ideal wouldn't it?

Also what about the other choices then?
>>
>>32626005
How about a Dedede warhammer?
>>
>>32625966
Certainly has potential. Another possibility would be to pick up either the shield/sword/rifle/arrow thing from the Blitz or the G-N Blade III from the Exia instead of the Beam Spear and Beam Rifles. You know, versatility and all that nonsense.
>>
>>32626035

>>32626043

but if we don't want the spear, I can wait until we kitbash our GM in which has two free melee spots
>>
>>32626068
Problem with the Trikeros (that's the name of the combo weapon the Blitz uses) is that putting all your weapons in your shield means you can't counter attack while blocking. Maybe if we had two of them it could work.
>>
>>32626068
Merc;s list is kind of simple and we just bought a new and stronger shield.

I'm willing to drop the spear but can we at least buy the new beam rifle and the heat knife/panzerfaust, since both don't need a hard point
>>
>>32626076
>My plan was to have the auto cannons remounted back to their original for while the beam rifles become the new arms.

Huh? Okay you're losing me here. Right now we have this:

>DAKKA BALL
>T: 0
>A: 4
>S: 0
>Gear:
>Beam Rifle
>Twin Autocannons
>Panzerfaust x3

We ripped the arms off to put the rifle and twin-cannons on them. And you want to put another rifle on them but where the hell you do want to put the guns? Because we're out of space on these guys.
>>
>>32626102
That's good idea, I'd just worry about range of motion. Though to be fair, most of our first move is to detach the balls and move them out so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
>>
Hey guys, what if we equipped our RB-79s with Mirage Colloid Stealth Systems?
>>
>>32626106
Well the Triskeros is a beam saber, beam rifle, kinetic weapon platform and shield on one hard point, and taking two of them means we don't have to worry about anything. It'd probably be on the expensive side if it was on Mercs list. I don't know, I'm just working with what I have.
>>
>>32626116
Originally the autocannnons were twin mounted on top on the Ball where the beam rifle is now.

My plan was to put the autocannons back into its twin mounted form and use the beam rifles as the arms where the autocannons are currently being used,

Thirdly, would the Plavsky Neutralizer affect our allies as well as our enemies, or is it more selective?

>TRIPLE GN DRIVE: Mounts a GN drive on the GM Juggler as well as the Balls.

Gotta go with the GN drives. They're such a massive upgrade in general terms.

I'm leery of situational things.
>>
>>32627615
An I-field is an anti laser barrier and the GN Drive is a heatless limitless engine that the Gundams in 00 used
>>
>>32627526
>DESTROYER MODE: Greatly increases the performance of the GM Juggler and its Balls, and automatically activates a full body I-Field.

I recall right, the I-field is like anti-beam or anti-particle shield.

Plus we get a general performance boost on top of that.
>>
>>32627592
In Universal Century, I-Field negates beam weapons. Basically, force fields.

GN Drives are what powers the Gundams in Gundam 00. It scatters particles that screw up radar and detection, can be condensed into beam weaponry, or concentrated into the mobile suit to improve its performance within a set time limit (Trans-Am).
>>
>>32627526
>>DESTROYER MODE: Greatly increases the performance of the GM Juggler and its Balls, and automatically activates a full body I-Field.

then more offensive power
>>
>>32627615
I-Fields block beam weapons. ALL beam weapons. You can go up to battleship main cannons and it still gets deflected, if you devote enough power to it. Melee and ranged, too. One notable suit with an I-Field, the Crossbone X3, takes advantage of this to parry beam sabers with its bare hands. They're worthless against solid weapons, though, and while they can't be penetrated they can be overloaded and forced to shut down.

GN Drives are the super engines that the suits in 00 use. They produce tons of power, scramble any sensors in a wide area, double as reactionless thrusters, and at high enough outputs can allow for teleportation. That last one requires specialized equipment that it's not clear if we'd get, though.

Balls and Juggler with I-Field, it will boost up our defenses and increase the survivability of our balls
>>
>>32627698
Only when we have it activated though, I'd rather an always on boost
>>
>>32627681
Hell, we get defense out that option too.

Think about that with the balls. We could activate just one of them and have it go tank a lot of beam weapon shots for us.
>>
/r/ final destination merc, to confirm
>>
>>32627710
That is a good point. They'd effectively become shield funnels, that way. Though GN Drives can also block beams with their particle exhaust, so that could also work out well for us.
>>
...I must admit, I'm slightly disappointed that not many people want to go for the Plavsky Neutralizer.

It'd ensure that no one could pull any super mode bullshit on us and the Moonlight Butterfly would be useless against us I'm presuming.

Ah well, I GUESS an overall boost is fine too I GUESS.

I think people are just worried about it being overly situational. Not all of our opponents will pull super modes on us, even if the Gunpla Club sure likes them. People want something that will be useful no matter the situation.
>>

All right, so we'll do one last round of voting to confirm the choice. We'll do it final destination style just to make sure.

>>
>>32627842
We'd get increased performance from both, actually, if only because we can mount more energy-intensive systems with the GN Drives. A single one of those is enough for a protagonist mobile suit, having three would give us effectively unlimited energy. Especially if we can get the synchronized drive trick that the 00 Gundam does. That gives you the output of one drive to the power of the number of synchronized drives you have. 00 uses two and squares its power. We could cube it. And Trans-Am applies its multiplication by three before the exponentiation. So 00 in Trans-Am gets nine times as much power as normal. We'd get 27 times. Then again, that's only if we got the synchronized reactors, there's no guarantee we could make that work. And 00 did tend to explode when it went into Trans-Am until it got a dedicated support unit for stabilizing the system. So maybe we shouldn't try to push the envelope.
>>
>>32627773
2
>>
>>32627917
Yeah, and considering we're packing them into a GM frame, trying to push our luck might just cause us to explode into a very sparkly fireball.
>>
>>32627917
looking at the 00, the Ball's GN drives could be used similarly (making shields, speed boosts) when docked.
>>
>>32627862
I understand your worry, but that would still make it a fair fight. Whether we do that by rising to their level of performance or lowering them to our level doesn't really matter. As long as we can make it a fight they actually have to work at rather than just roflstomping their opponents, it's going to fit our philosophy. Besides, it's not like there aren't grunt mobile suits with GN Drives. We could upgrade to the GN-X Juggler, wouldn't that be fun?

"You know what would be funny? GN Drives on Balls." You muse.

"Sure!" Holly beams without missing a beat.

"Whoa, seriously? I was sorta half joking there." You blink.

"Who do you think you're talking to, bro? I'll MAKE it happen!"

With that, you finally reach the Hobby Shop, where Holly immediately heads to the front counter to buy the parts she needs.

"Holly seems mighty excited today." Lucina remarks."

"Yeah, well, she's giving my Juggle an overhaul today." You grin. "GN Drives on everything!"

"That's the same thing Exia uses, right?" Lucina asks.

"Yes, Lucina. That's exactly right." You nod.

"Man, I wish I had a cool, super talented little sister." Mac sighs.

"Trust me, Mac, you don't." You laugh.

Meanwhile you see Amy busy working on her Deathscythe, no doubt crafting that weaponized scarf she was talking about. Jake seemed to be assisted her, now that his TUSKER appeared to have been fully repaired.

And that's when Charlotte also arrives.

"Hey, Jack! What's up?" She grins.

"Nothing much. Getting my GM upgraded."

"Ah, cool. What are you giving it?"

Now I may be wrong here, but I think that while the GN Drive is a piece of equipment you can just slap on, the full Trans-Am System might fall under "spooky Plavsky Particle magic" and require further work to unlock.

Again, I see what you're getting at. But I think we'll be okay. Our character isn't opposed to super modes, if he was then he wouldn't have introduced Lucina to the Trans-Am. He's opposed to fights being boring and uncreative. The Gunpla Club aren't bad because they use super powerful suits, they're bad because they don't do anything interesting with them. We can make sure that Jack won't make that mistake.

As for the GN-X Juggler, that was mostly a joke. I don't really care one way or another about the Balls. Though I would like to switch to a different design that can accomplish the same thing, if only because I don't like how they look hanging off our shoulders. My goal is to mod them enough to change their silhouette completely. That's part of why I supported GN Drives. Though Destroyer could also do that, if they shifted the armor parts around to reveal psychoframe.

"You're going to give series purists aneurysms." Charlotte giggled.

"Since when did we care about stuff like that? That only limits our imaginations as gunpla battlers!"

"Exactly right!" Charlotte nods.

"Okay, now your turn." You say.

"Hmm, well, it's a bit difficult to describe." Charlotte frowns. "It's not based on an existing series trump card system. Sort of my own personal thing. I call it Carnifex Mode."

"Carnifex?" You raise an eyebrow.

"It's like a super extreme form of Trans-Am." Charlotte says.

"How extreme are we talking about?" You blink.

"If I keep it up too long my gunpla will literally melt from the stress, but the performance boost is ungodly."

"Jesus." You whistle. "Guess you gotta finish the fight quick."

"That's the point."

"So Holly, how are things going?" You ask.

"Shhh! I'm still working!" Holly snaps.

Presumably it would give us improved reactor output and let us run more powerful weapons, shields and thrusters. So by itself it wouldn't do anything, but it would raise the cap on how much we can upgrade the suit. And since it's a system upgrade, so long as we use conversion kits instead of buying new ones entirely we can keep it with us forever.
>>
>>32628226
Well if anything we can upgrade the frame by turning it into a Nemo or GMII, jedan, Jesta, or Gundam.

Though to be honest I rather as a final conversion.
>>

>>32628221

UC lasers work by e-cap.

Energy is stored in something like cartridges and uses the energy of the suit's reactor to trigger the shot to fire. So to resupply, they need to dock with a ship.

Gn drive allows unlimited power so theres no ammo concerns. The output of the lasers is likely to be stronger too due to gn particles.

There are GN Fields that act much the same as I-Fields, only they can block solid rounds, too. Though that means they can get in the way of maneuvering, since they interact with solid objects. It basically turns your mobile suit's profile into a sphere when it's on. However, we don't necessarily need that. It's mostly been abandoned by the Celestial Being mobile suits by the end of the series. The reason? Advances in GN Composite Armor. Yeah, the GN Fields become a part of the armor layers. Like scales, only each scale is a tiny planar forcefield. They had it from the beginning of the series, it's how Trans-Am is capable of improving armor durability, but by Awakening of the Trailblazer it's advanced to the point that only 00 Quan[T] uses regular GN Fields. We should definitely look into developing it.

As for the rotating, we could dotthe same thing by mounting the GN drives on a nozzle style boos stsyme like some of the Crossbone and F91 units use, or just use a Crossbone gundams boosters and mount 4 of them. And Have a Beam shroud and all kind of other stuff, and still be faster.
So far, theres nothing we've done that couldnt be pulled off just as well or better withoutusing bit style weapons.
