Last time we dealt with zombies, looting, and mutations. Including the formation of a bunch of abominations. Who after a certain...incident mysteriously disappeared. A hero ended up departing only to be replaced by a friend of theirs a Monstrous Monster Master Wrangler of all things. One should be wary though much has changed the forest is no more being replaced by rotting marshes and new dense growths. Zombies are no out in force a new hives are appearing. New types of monsters are also emerging either way a lot has changed whether for the better we shall see.

My first civ went over 20 threads. My third went over 10. Its just my setting is a tough one and I am rather impartial.

My civs by other quest standards would be deemed 'hardcore'. No one has been brave enough to find out what my version of 'hardcore' actually is.

There are a LOT of threads and a good number of civs. A few parts of which were not archived and you'll have to trawl through archives to find em.

Monster Shara offers her training stating that MONSTERS may be of beasts, plants, and more thus one the hardest to master. You'll have MUCH better luck specializing.

Monsters do NOT typically include humanoids though there are a few exceptions to this rule. The exception being non 'humanity'.

In other words we DID find out a bit despite the difficulty but we certainly understood the point she was trying to make about the monstrous and what it takes to actually pull it off. Monsters as a category is a quite broad one and the hardest to master. You'll have better luck doing ghouls or even zombies more then monsters in general. Not to mention here is the kicker one we found out from her.

The only monster determined to be especially vulnerable to linking is the native specimen. As for Master Shara she simply states variety is the spice of life and one is best of either developing their own or combo.

Forces dispatched to scout out the bandits by sticking to the water just so happened to be that their base is right on the waterway. Even better they never noticed us even when we walked up into their base AND got a guided tour.

Turns out they were escorting a number of mutants and ghouls around answering questions.

Meanwhile their forces outside are apparently doing a survey/sweep. They seem to be making decent progress and are expected to finish up soon. After that once they get a certain shipment they plan to check out the waters once that is done and no major discoveries are made they plan to leave.

Just so happens arrangements are being made to...establish something that they are debating over.

Turns out once they leave it will be largely handed over to some newcoming mutants(zombies=food) and outcasted mutants. A vile union is being discussed as well as the possibility of a 'haven' or 'sanctuary'. Turns out a certain guest as showed up as well as a certain psionic master. Who to them is known as Shrouded Cloaker and our psi master who the bandits knew as Maxefuck yeah for awesome name idea. I hardly ever get those.

as for plant cover it worked a little...too well for Eden in fact she somehow during it...but the plants moved according to conceal our forces as well as protecting them. Hell our guys report seeing some plants actually PULL themselves out of the ground to escort them. Sometime during the freakishness though Eden disappeared. The plants even covered us while we were on the waters by the way.

Amazingly enough our forces slipped out of their base just fine also followed the bandits around without being noticed and did so well we even know the exact amount of pocket change they were carrying around.

The bandits were orignally here for finding special loot you can't get nowhere else. They seemed to have failed in that endeavor which is why they plan to depart soon once they hand things over and do some final digging around.

...meanwhile Mama and Shara come up with a massive utterly devastating breakthrough of utterly unprecedented proportions. Something was done a dark secret unleashed or something we honestly don't know what apparently after the two of them had a....conversation they went to work and came up with it. After that though Mama has withdrawn seemingly to recover.

Simply put it turns you into a monster and it will have some wicked effects due to it stacking.

Say you have enhanced strength THEN get the monstrous trait. That enhanced strength turns into greater strength if not above. Basically Monstrous REALLY shines if it has something to stack on but...its a one time power up. Granted it powers EVERYTHING up but once you used it its gone forever. You will NEVER get to enjoy its benefit more then once.

say you are an ordinary the monstrous STILL turns you into a monster. Its nasty stuff but insanely potent.

Basically a monstrous mutant could actually compare to a super mutant but they still suffer from drawbacks.

We did fortunately have much better luck with telepathy our forces can now communicate feelings well but ideas including communication is still causing problems.

Telepathy hit a road block getting across ideas is tricky especially if you want to get around the whole language barrier.

Hunting also went terribly seems like others things had the same idea and monster presence is pretty shitty at the moment.

I suppose it is just that easy. Since we're going to leave Mama out for a bit, now we need to focus in on our psi-abilities. Learning how to conjure infernoes of flame, blizzards of ice, lift tanks with telekinesis solo, dominate multiple creatures minds, etc.

Just gotta go about it smartly. All the powers have common sense pre-reqs. We need to get our telepathy good before we get our mind domination (or mind linking for small-scale hive minds).

Then if we want proper storms of anything we'll need to practice conjuring the lightning/ice/fire, and telekinesis separately first before we combine them into the full scale technique.

And then eventually we'll choose our favorite powers and learn how to do them with multiple people contributing.

Oh, if we want to go about scouting people we're going to have to do it in an odd way. I have an idea:

Just stand a bunch of our people up on a hill overlooking what we want to observe and let them look at it. They'll switch watches every few hours, and whenever they're chased they'll just come back a short time later.

After this goes on for a while and we don't attack (the men will defend themselves but won't attack anyone unprovoked by deadly force) it's not a suspicious thing anymore, and we just have these guys watching.

Then we know when to strike (and they know we know when to strike, but that's unavoidable until we turn off our psy-beacon status.)

Also, anyone think the psy-beacon might be genetics based and need Mama's expertise?

Now your cooking with psy. lol that's the right way to think about our abilities, think about psion's in pop culture, many x-men have psionic abilities or powers of a psionic nature. Storm comes to mind, not a typical psion she uses wind control to fly around and make tornadoes. Or prof x, who can track every mutant on the planet with just a little tech, it is such a broad power, and we haven't specialized in anything yet, we are still a blank slate, with TONS of potential. All we can do is shoot lasers from our eyes, it's a start, but it's a joke. We can do everything a Jedi can do and more. The world is our oyster

You haven't read the thread, have you? We got this from the double nat-1 on trying to mask our psy presence. That's why it's so hard to get rid of (but we have to get rid of it, otherwise no ambushes, scouting, or effective exploring for us ever again.)
