OPENING

Previously: Cerulean arrived upon a mysterious island after a mission to rescue shipwrecked personnel had gone awry due to mysterious humanoid monsters.

Meeting the natives, Cerulean found aid in the form of a humanoid monster by the name of Kurojo, a tusked Kahkori of Kakarkiko island.

With his and his uncle's help, she had been reunited with Marine, her friend from training and childhood.

After killing a fierce foe reviled by Kahkori, Cerulean fell ill, and was given a cure by Kurojo. In the village, she learned of a strange ability and found herself able to utilize "Aura."

Journeying with Kurojo, Cerulean and Marine make it to the joint city of races amongst the island chain. It is there in Raguna city that she fights to the death with a rambunctious Smolderan.
Slipping out of her right mind, she executes her foe with absolute certainty, earning her some recognition with a Smolderan leader and the right to engage in a hunting exam at his request.

Cerulran takes a test with another species known as the Araraki, an infallibly polite and timid representative of her people.
Upon completing the hunt, they are put through a naming ceremony and engage in some festivities, taking a somewhat heavier turn as Akabaron, Vi-Smohkan of the Smolderan, goes over his deal with Cerulean.

Charter the construction of a boat with Kurojo's aid...

You made a mistake last thread. Cerulean HAD blue eyes, but she replaced it with the Crytten's, which are yellow cat eyes.

Huhm.

Oh boy time to talk to a ruling figure and hopefully not make him mad.

Hmm? What about the dream? I was talking about when the Kahkori woman was attending to Cerulean.

Prof, Ceru's also got a sensitive sense of smell (ie; the first perfume incident with Sanna). I can't recall very well if she has the entire nose or just the smell receptors, however.

>>32764215
Additionally, you've got it unmentioned that Ceru can plug her nose (and her ears? I'm not sure on this) and has a second pair of eyelids for when she goes swimming underwater.
>>
>>32764238
>>32764215
Just the smell receptors.

She's got a human face. Not cat lip, no cat nose, just cat eyes and cat ears where her normal ears would be. and the second eyelids.

Kurojo is the first to bow, you and Marine replicate the gesture in earnest, hoping not to offend. You keep telling yourself “This is like meeting the president,” over and over again to remind you of the fact that you should maintain decorum.

He's the ruler of this city and all the races where-within.

Marine's not quite as tense, still quite hung up on being dressed like a boy. Kurojo though? From his aura, you can tell that he's both mortified and elated to be here. You kind of share the sentiment, you'd rather not have the attention of a regent upon you.

Yasake raises a hand, given permission to speak by the man beyond the veil. “My honorable Lord Hao, I've been advised to inform you that Lady Ultramarine, the most handsome lady in red, has an interest in the radiance of your hindquarters.”

Your blood freezes, and you can almost hear the tension in Kurojo's body snapping at the servant's words. Marine swallows, looking more than a bit bashful and offering a nervous smile and wave.
Laughter rings out from the screen, the figure shadowed beyond throwing his head back in uproarous laughter. “And did you advise the lovely lady of its picturesque composition?”

“That I did, my lord.”

“And that as loyal as a servant you are, as you are not of the fairer sex, we must exclude you from those that shower it with affection?”

“I spared them details, yet I did my lord.”

You wince at the dialogue as Jojo's skin crawls as the two of you listen to the conversation. Marine can't help but do all she can to suppress her laughter.
>>
Gosh, we left the Dome a furred little girl with some ice powers and our hand guns.

“We are pleased, and you have done well Yasake. Now please, tell the kitchen to prepare a tea and have a brunch ready in half an hour's time.” Lord Hao snaps his fingers and Yasake vanishes in a split second, almost as though he was never there.
The figure waves a hand in a most ceremonious manner before him,”Now please, take a seat, make yourself comfortable.”

You see three cushions before you and a small table that's barely a foot off of the ground. You count the table as being no less than 20 paces from the shade and the throne.
The pillows to sit upon are red, blue, and yellow, in that order. You sit on the yellow one, next to Kurojo.

After the three of you take your seats, the figure from beyond the shade, sits back down into his throne, leaning into what looks like a half-curled fist to rest his head. A rather lazy posture for a regent.

“So outlanders, what brings you to our great city of unity? And how have you come to travel with a son of beasts?”

Do we really want to say that? If we do not ask -him- for help with it, then he will wonder how we're intending on getting home. We look like a Smolder, so he's likely to assume that we're up to something with the Smolders and may have us more closely watched or something.

>“So outlanders, what brings you to our great city of unity? And how have you come to travel with a son of beasts?”

We were Hunter trainees.
We were out at sea when a storm arrived and we were shipwrecked.
We washed up on the island of Kakarkiko, where we met Kurojo.
Working together with Kurojo, we became Hunters, one of the youngest to live.
We come here to learn more about this city, and the monsters that live near it. Perhaps then, we will know how to go home.
>>
>>32764488
>>32764610
Expanding.

>Shipwreck Mission
Why we're traveling at sea - It was part of our job as 'hunters' of our own people. There are monsters at sea that can harm our people and it's our job to fight these threats.

I'm wondering whether or not to include the fact that we also have ships, but it might just be best for him to think our people are just capable of traveling through the sea naturally? It wouldn't be a lie to say our people are capable of that, since the majority of the rangers, if not all, in Cerulean Gym really can swim and breathe underwater.

>>32764689
True, yeah. And he could help on that matter.

We don't know where these islands are in relation to our home. We just came here looking for clues. And seeing as how the Governor-General and his people seem very knowledgeable, such that they already know our language, they might be a good source for information. So one could say we were lucky to have bumped into them.

Include helping Jojo take down the Nar-kage, and that we journeyed to the city via Tropius and a Hunting vessel, but don't bore him with the minutiae [e.g. leave out the Pikachu hunt].
>Why you came to the city
We want to hunt monsters, and the city is a good place for that.
[Don't mention that we want to hunt monsters >at our home<, just that we want to hunt monsters]
As for why we travel with Jojo, he helped us fight monsters.

“Well...” You take a deep breath, taking initiative as the first to speak. You remember what Akabaron said... Don't tell them the plan, don't trust the tuskless, and don't lie. You still yourself, where to start.

You begin with telling Lord Hao about how you washed up upon the beach of Kakarkiko, explaining how you met Kurojo and saved Marine from strange bramble creatures. You omit your travels, and don't mention the dome, and you feel relieved that the regent is listening intently even as tea is brought in.
He doesn't interrupt, though you feel as though he does indeed have questions to ask.

Marine comes in now and then, taking your lead in some of the details, and come to why you're in Raguna city.

You pause, and you're suddenly uncertain whether you should tell him that you want to go home.

“Something the matter, honored guest?” Yasake watches you carefully, seeming to catch your pause.
You take a sip of tea to alleviate the pause. The brew reminds you have something the celadons would come up with in a cafe, only it's much more rich, earthy, and unique. It's as though you're tasting the forest with every sip.

“The herbs for the tea come from our most esteemed island, Arcea. The power of wave infuses them with the flavor of the land itself, and suffuses its energy to rejuvinate both body and soul.” Lord Hao explains to you as you marvel at the tea. Marine's next to take a sip, melting at the amazing flavor.
Kurojo lets his go cold, in little mood for the tea.
“Now, now, son of beasts. Where are your manners? You are invited to our hospitality.” The lord chuckles from beyond the veil, and Kurojo reluctantly picks up the tea for a sip.

“Now then, Lady White, you were saying something about why you came here?”

“We came here to find a way home...” You say staring down into the amber-green tea, avoiding eye contact as the vapors tickle your nostrils.

Lord Hao takes a sip of his own brew from beyond his screen. “So you wish to return to your city of glass?”

“Yes,” You nod, and Marine looks over at you from across Kurojo. “We want to go home, but we don't know how. We've heard that the waters are plagued by monsters, and that the only boats that travel ride on currents that most monsters dislike.”

“Indeed, this is so.” Lord Hao sets his drink down. “If we understand this correctly, you travel with a son of beasts. With him, you have become hunters to find a way home. A home of which you came from from a distant shore. Are we wrong?”

“No, my lord.” You say, meekly bowing your head as your friends maintain their respective silence.

Yes, we'd like help, but we don't want to ask too much, even if it's offered. Our people need to be self-reliant (Rockets) and we can't take too much of a handout. We may be even shunned by some (Sabrina) if we relied too much on others (these humanoid tribes) help.

We're just potential leverage in a power struggle between Tuskless and Smolder.

I'm for backing the Smolders if it ever comes to war, toppling the Tuskless would yield more good will towards us/the dome than what would we get from "the chosen people of Arceus". The destabilization of that theocratic despotism would probably help foster dependence on the dome as well in the regime change period. imo.
>>
>>32765997
He didn't leave, though.

It doesn't matter, anyway, this is just in regards to lying.
>>
I just noticed something big.

Something really -really- big.

Now that our Freezer Array has evolved, it no longer has the -5 penalty to fire moves.

That's waaaaay bigger than the fact that it gives +2 to Ice now, because Ceru is very well suited to operations in frozen wastelands but all of those creatures there resist Ice to some degree between 1/2 and 1/8.

Aura is usable underwater. It's against flying enemies that's the problem.
>>
>>32765633
Ask him how much it would cost?
>>
>>32766240
>>32766265
It's more logic, if Aura can't deal with a gust of wind, how will it deal with the ever changing currents of water?

The reason Aura cannot be used againt flying types is because it cannot deal with air that has been "disturbed" or "stirred up" it needs a calm medium to work through.
>>
So as an aside, who wants to bet this tea is drugged?
>>
>>32766309
Um, did Prof ever say that, or is that just you, because the reason Flying types are resistant to Aura is because Flying is strong against Flying. Water doesn't have that problem.
>>
“No, I did not come here to ask for help.” You look over to Marine,” We came here to find our own way, it's what we've been taught.”

“And yet, you travel with a son of beasts, receiving his aid?”

Kurojo raises a hand before you speak. He waits to be called upon, yet the figure pays him no mind and you can feel why. He asked- you.

“He offered to help us, and Jojo is our friend.”

“That's right.” Marine agrees, elbowing Jojo much to his chagrin as he sets his hand down.

“We see...” Lord Hao muses, sipping down more of his drink before setting it down upon a table at his side.

“Guards. Yasake. Leave us. We wish to speak in private with our honored guests.” Lord Hao says with a sudden commanding tone, some of the mirth he bore before lost in his word.

“At once, My lord. What shall I do about the kitchen?”

“Knock twice upon the door, and then twice again.”

“Certainly, my lord.” Yasake departs, as do the guards, though the Kahkori look back with confused expressions, eyeing you and marine carefully as they leave their master's side.

Once they leave, Lord Hao continues. “So you'll be finding your own way home to your city of glass. Tell us, what is the name of your dome? We are interested. We have read scripts of Pallet, Saffron, Goldenrod, and Newbark. How do they fair against the test of Arceus and time?”

“Wh-”

“We expect an answer.” The tone is saccharine, yet the feel of his aura is oppressive, radiating amidst the smoky incense, visibly contorting the particles and forcing them into patterns like a wave.

SO he knows his shit, left right and center. We are going to have to speak very carefully about our home to him in order to not give away info. Or hell we COULD just side with the tuskless and get a free ride home if they know all of the dome locations.

Yeah but being honest and saying that the Dome is very unlikely to show much gratitude and that why we're trying to find our own way home could be saving him some trouble.

Because as it stands with the Smolders, there's a good chance they'll be greeted with a kill squad.

Kurojo's eyes go wide, and you can feel his confusion. Slowly, he's beginning to realize that he likely shouldn't be here. He doesn't understand what the tuskless is talking about, and he doesn't seem to understand.

You take a deep breath of the rich smoke, steadying yourself and simply saying nothing as the oppressive aura continues. After a few moments, it quiets, and the regent slouches back into his chair.

“It is a gambit you play, to deny us an answer when faced with a question. I notice that you seem reserved, as though you do not trust us. We noticed when you first arrived here and it is present in all three of you. You come to our city, join the guild of hunters, seek a way home, and yet you have nothing to ask of us? Out of pride?” He rubs at his chin, standing up.
“Honestly...” You see him stepping down from his thrown, walking towards the edge of the screen. “Son of Beasts, you seem to be in the worst form of all. You have no idea who these girls are, do you? Did your blood rob you of reason? Deprive you of your natural curiosity?”

Kurojo mumbles, his head hung low.

“We could not hear you, speak up, or has Arceus deprived you of words as well?”

“I respect them, my lord... I do not mean to offend...” Kurojo blinks back some tears, Marine lending him a hand. “I do not mean to offend my lord, I am simply a hunter of beasts. Please, I am not worthy my lord.” He shakes his head slowly, as if to get away, as though he should get up and leave, yet his body does not listen.
>>
The figure from beyond the screen reaches out to the partition and pulls it back, revealing what looks like...

A human with a feathered body. His hair is composed entirely of long soft feathers, tied up to allow the soft shimmering feathers, that radiate each a slightly different gem-like hue of reds and oranges, to fall back down over the sides and back of his head. Lord Hao is garbed in silks that simply can not match the radiance of his own body, the soft downy feathers emerging from his sleeves gives his ever gesture the appearance that he glows.
“Perhaps this would convince my most honored guests otherwise.” He bats his feathery eyelashes slowly, the golden accents sparkling, his eyes marked by dark makeup at the corners. An eyeliner?

The literally radiant man steps forward, with a methodical, calculated stride, setting himself before the three of you, and sitting at the same table as you three. He does not make eye contact with any one of you.
“If indeed you do come from the domes, as we must surmise by your silence, I might even assume one from the mythical Hoenn. That is, if such stories are to be true, then again, you are living proof? By chance, do you have proof?” His smile returns and Marine's nearly melting in the beautiful man's light.

Read in the archives last couple threads someone was curious as to what system I had used for my AoPH game, the one with the Pineco graft who wanted to die gloriously in his own explosion.

Here it is. Look past the Poser art and sometimes sketchy formatting, and you get a fairly solid system that's easy to run. http://thevictorysystem.com/

What I did was essentially scrap all the powers given in the books, and used the ability construction rules in the Equipment Manual to design all the moves.

“I... um... Proof. I don't know...” You blush under his purview, averting your eyes as to not be drawn in by his charms.

Lord Hao reaches across the table in a movement smooth as wind through the leaves of grass. You feel a touch to your chin and your vision is drawn into his own. You bite at your lip to keep yourself from being seduced by his gorgeous eyes. You need to keep your heart firm.

“We do not like being lied to. Especially by one so lovely.” The same hand upon your chin moves to brush against your face and you shiver.

“I... I... have my index. We record monsters in them...” You unconsciously reach for your forearm where it's usually located. Yet you only feel your own fur... You grab again. Where could it be? It should by right there.
“M-my lord.”

“Shhh...” He breathes out gently, “You are missing something, We can tell. You have proof that you cannot show us, though it is only because it is absent.” He smiles, his lips turning, and a very human profile grinning to you.
“You can trust me.”

“No...” You shake your head, pulling away, your heart a flutter. “No, I can't... I don't want to get involved...” You breath, clutching your chest. He makes you feel so... What is that?

“Why? What makes you so scared?” He lets you slip away, turning his attention upon Marine, who's already steaming from the ears, “Perhaps your lovely friend may tell us?”

“Uh...” Marine's eyes flicker to you. “Uh...” Her blue cheeks flush deeply, she giggles, “I dunno...”

“Truly?” Lord Hao muses.

Suddenly there are two knocks at the door.

“Please my lord..” Kurojo still begs, looking down at the table, gripping the feathers at his legs.
A second set of knocks.
“Please... You are too radiant.”

“We aren't allowed.. to talk about our home.” You try breathing, only to catch yourself being drawn back into his immaculate visage.

“Ah, so I see.” Lord Hao murmurs, laughing a bit under his breath. “Well, nothing to be done then. That part bores us anyway. Like something my older brother would be interested in...” He rises and returns to beyond his screen, denying you his visage and allowing you to organize your thoughts again.

“Come in.” Lord Hao calls, and the door opens. You want to run, but Kurojo puts a hand upon your shoulder, slowly shaking his head as food is delivered.

“We leave when he says we can. Ceru... We are in his nest. The city is his nest. To anger him...”

Exhaling through your nostrils, you settle back down. Kahkori tradition. When in another's house you must respect them, their family, their things, and their hospitality. If you do that, they will respect you as well. But... was what he just did... respectful? As you ponder that you look to Kurojo.
He's a statue. He absolutely dreads being here now.
You wonder if he'll beat you with questions once this is over, or if he'll continue to respect your privacy and pretend this never happened.

“Brunch” carries on with the four of you eating, making idle chat as Lord Hao switches the conversation to some of his court affairs. Literal court affairs.

“And you know, you a daughter of beasts, she really lived up to her name, never have we seen a woman squirm so gleefully beneath us. By Arceus, I'll forever remember her name... Mayteri.”

“Neytiri, my lord.” Yasake's returned, standing to the side and somewhere between you and the lecherous Governer-General.

“Right, right, indeed. Neytiri of Uakamm isle. Indeed. Wonder if they make them all that way from there...”
>>
If anything, we need to say that we are not proper ambassadors.

We can tell them we wish to go home, and then we'll send proper ambassadors to meet with them and everyone else in power and such.

I think we can make a deal like that.
>>
Kurojo keeps his eyes shut, simply waiting for this to all be over. Marine's eyes keep hazing over now and then as she seems to be busy with her own thoughts.

The intermission of brunch ends however and you feel that Lord Hao has more to ask of you.

“Well, we have other appointments to attend to. For now, We must bid you farewell.” Lord Hao nods from behind the screen, casting a hand out to Yasake.

“Yasake, come here.”

“Yes my lord?” The servant strides up to the screen, seeming to lean against it. Parting, he offers a bow to his master, turns toward the three of you. “I shall see you out, Jojo, Ultramarine, with me to the changing room.”

“What about me?” You ask.

“We will send your equipment home, my lord has bid for you to keep the dress.”

With a stiff spine, you bow, “Thank you... my lord.”

You see him flick a hand out, dismissing you. “We shall send for again when you have time. Good luck in your search for a way home.” His tone is sincere, yet you can feel from his aura that he's more curious than anything else.
What is he curious about?

“I... Look forward to it.” The first lie you've told since coming here. With a turn, you follow after the others, returning to your temporary home.
“Man...” Marine falls into a seat at the guild hall's bar. “That guy was really something.”

“Yeah... He was really-”

“Pretty.” Marine waves her hands out,” Geeze, I wish they made boys back home as pretty as that.” She giggles beside herself and you sigh, sinking into your seat, supporting your head with a claw as you shake it.

Kurojo's finally come out of his statuesque funk from the audience, though he seems to be experiencing something else now, and you're feeling exceedingly out of place in your golden-yellow dress.

Everyone else in the bar is looking at you, some Smolders even whistle.
“White demon in gold thread!”
“We should call her the White Empress!”
“Lady White?”
“Hey, doesn't she look different now...?”

You try to ignore them... Though the attention is kind of nice... it's completely different than before.

“So, Ceru, what are we doing next?” Marine smiles, still kind of buzzing. You swear you can just about see hearts popping off of her.

We're fine with boating with the smolders, as they can't do much to get to the dome, but we're not fine with them getting any secrets.

The tusked we are going to try to avoid giving anything to, as they will let it slip.

>>
>>32769819
There wasn't any of that, either.

We joined the Rockets voluntarily and they trained us to their standards.

What you imply by using "brainwashing" and "mental conditioning" is that they forced our eyes open and made us watch propaganda images to the tune of our favorite music until we were conditioned to associate the good feelings we get from our favorite music with the propaganda about Boss/Rockets, thus forcing a hardwired positive connection to the Rockets.

Imagine an aspiring gymnast. She wants to be compete in the Olympics. So, voluntarily, and with the help of a professional trainer, she trains her absolute goddamn hardest until her body is athletic enough to compete with the best.

She looks in a mirror, sees her body, and says, "Yeah. My trainer is awesome."

That's Boss. That's the Rockets.

You fold your hands together, looking to Kurojo piteously. “Kurojo... If there's anything you want to ask us about, we'll tell you. I'm sorry we didn't really talk about it before...”

You squeeze your hands together, bearing the brunt of some more cat-calls from other Smolder.

Kurojo looks to you,” Cerulean, I...”

A Smolder sidles up alongside you, a scent that you don't know, alcohol on his breath as the large beast sniffs your hair, the force of his inhale setting it out of place only for the exhale to mess it up further.
With your eyes wide you look up to the Smolder, “Y'got sum biddness wit' me mate?” You speak cooly and calmly, still a bit upset from the the audience.

The Smolder's about to say something when Kurojo gets up, and smashes him right in the nose, sending the smolder down to the ground with a howl.
His friends roar with laughter at the drunk idiot as he starts to jump up, ready to pounce upon Kurojo only for him to eat another quick Kahkori fist before he can fully get up.
The second attack sends the beast reeling and the Smolder backs off as Jojo raises his fist for another.

Turning around, he sits down, flexing his knuckles.

“You okay?” You ask, putting a hand over his.

“Fine.” He sighs,”Ceru- White... I'm just. This is all really big for me. I'm an apprentice hunter from Kakarkiko that found some strange creature that cried when I first saw her and went on about her woes. I couldn't understand her at first, but helping her's given me the personal attention of a tuskless.” He shakes his head.
“I don't know if I want to know your whole story. I don't know if that'll get me in trouble or if it'll get the Tuskless to pay attention to my home.” He buries his face into the palm of his hand. “I just don't know. I thought we were just having a fun adventure and... growing up together or something. And... I can deal with monsters. I can deal with Smolders, but the Tuskless... I don't know.”
>>
You start to reach for Kurojo, flinching at first when he begins to cry into his hand. You touch his shoulder and sit there like that for a bit. Marine attempts to speak up, to ask what he said, but she lets the two of you have a moment, slipping away from the table.

>>
>>32769979
Problem with you analogy is we arent training for the Olympics. We are a child solider. We are REALLY good at being a child solider, but we are a child soldier nonetheless. We are trained to kill, whether it be monster or person, we are being trained to main, kill, and brutalize other living beings. We are a weapon of war, not an athlete, not looking for gold medals.
Let me ask you something, have you ever killed a man? Have you ever stared into his eyes and stabbed him, pulled the trigger or done the final deed? This has a huge effect on anyone psyche, much MORE so a child's than others. The modern human miliary in our has to condition its soldiers before it sends them out onto the front lines or else they may not perform their tasks. Hell many still dont due to not being to kill another living person.
What is even worse is that we are a part of an elite political unit, not just regular grunts. Conditioning is implied. No matter what you say.

Look here is what im saying. Giovanni in the games and in every iteration ive ever seen of him has been a villain. A self-serving, money-grubbing mobster, who would sell anyone and anything out for a quick buck. He MAY be totally different in AoPH, BUT the source material tell us otherwise.
The unhealthy amount of reverence that Ceru places in him, hell that A LOT of Rockets place in him says to me, that he has something to do with this beyond his natural CHA, even if it is massive. Therefore it is hard for me to believe that he isnt a villain.

>>32770617

Now another thing. Let NOT forget that we have been brainwashed in this games. It HAS happened.

>We go to Saffron Gym to look for Goldie.
>Have to fight Alexis because Sabrina is a total whore.
>Win and demand to see Goldie.
>Sabrina casually waves her hand in our face, turns our brain to silly putty and mindwipes us.
>We wake up think we were sleep walking.

THIS HAPPENED. IT IS A FACT. It is, therefore, not hard to think, "Well if espers can just casually turn our brains to silly putty over something THAT trivial, what ELSE can they do to fuck with us. Because absolute power corrupts absolutely, and you don't get much more absolute than mind wiping memories you don't want that person to have. Silph had also been described as a mega corporation by Dran so they quite possibly have a hand in it.
We have also seen that Sabrina and Giovanni HATE each other, or at best severely dislike each other. It is not hard therefore for me to believe that, in order to fortify his powerbase (the Rockets) against Sabrina and her ilk, he would take pheromones to further fortify his CHA and mental control over his own underlings, if he cant just get esper powers himself. BTW for what we have seen esper grafts are non-existent, almost all of Sabrina's underlings are unmodified. This mean that Giovanni might not have the ability to procure an Esper graft so he probably goes for the next best thing. A Fae grats that allows for pheremonal control vs esper control.
>>
>>32770799
>BTW for what we have seen esper grafts are non-existent
Goldie wasn't a natural esper, so he got an Abra graft.

>>

You just went right from reasonable to retarded.

Also mindwiping =/= brainwashing.

And did you forget about Goldenrod? His whole deal is that despite being Sabrina's daughter, he was unable to develop his own psychic powers, so Sabrina, after abusing him a lot, had her Espers track down an Abra, capture it, and graft it to Goldie.
>>
>>32770866
>His whole deal is that despite being Sabrina's daughter

ouch. He's not that bad anon...
>>
>>32770799
I'm virtually certain that while the boss may have a graft that increases his charisma, the reason Ceru likes him so much is because he's perfect manly father figure.
>>
You stay there a moment, allowing him a bit of time to get some of it out. Some Smolders snort and look away, obviously thinking little of a crying Kahkori. The smolder that ate some fist suitably stays backed off, leaving your lot alone.

“I'm sorry Kurojo.” You finally eek out. “I didn't know...” You get up suddenly, and put your arms around him at his shoulders. You rest your head behind his, nuzzling slightly. “I understand if you don't want to help us anymore. I wouldn't blame you.”

His crying ceases for a moment, and he trembles, bringing his other hand up to your arm. “I promised...” He sniffles, “I couldn't face my father if I broke that promise...” He exhales slow, “It's okay to be afraid. But a man needs to be brave.” He leans his head into your collar, quiet again.

The two of you decide not to move. Staying just like that.
“You're cold.”

“I used to be warm.” You say without thinking.

“What happened?”

You don't answer at first, but. “I changed.”

Marine eventually comes back and the three of you talk. You fill Kurojo in about where your from. You don't tell him everything, but you tell him a lot.

“I think... Lord Hao knows something about other domes. He wanted to know which one we were from.”

“If it's as great as you say, then he must want to conquer it... And there are humans, you said?”

“Yeah... A lot of people that can't fight. It's why we need to protect them.” You fold your arms.

Kurojo takes it all in. You told him about humans, but you didn't tell him about how rangers are made, or even that you once were one.
But the revelation about the M-virus is still enough to shock him.

“This means that... This means that we must've been cursed by Arceus.” Kurojo mutters this, yet you furrow your brow, a bit incredulous.

“What makes you think that?”

“... If we came from them, then it must be a curse, right? We're becoming more rike monsters.”

Marine chews a leg of some monster lazily, pointing a bone at Kurojo and rolling her eyes at you,”Y'know, I think it's the other way around. Why would it be a curse? Being part monster is awesome. Y'know, when civvies don't hate your guts.”

“Mari-”

“Ultra. Marine.” She corrects with a smile, tearing off another piece of a haunch with just her teeth.

You sigh tiredly, shaking your head,” Whatever. You shouldn't talk about civvies that way.

“Who are you- my mom?” Marine stares at you, and you give her an all too motherly look.
“Wuht?” She shrugs, swallowing more meat.

Kurojo, nonetheless seems to consider her words. “A gift, eh?” You can see the corners of his mouth smiling through his red feathers. “That works too.”

You hear sudden surge in the commotion around you, as a green shadow and brown slips just past outside of your vision. “Greetings.” The Araraki comes up from your other side, nearly making you jump at her slight word.

In the next fraction of a second, she's already three paces distant and apologizing,” We sorry. We scare? So sorry.”

“You'te fine.” Kurojo says, tapping the table, “Take a seat.”

How the hell am i being unreasonable? Mental control is a proven fucking thing in this setting. Dran has shown us over and over again that espers have the ability to rewrite people into doing whatever the fuck they want.

The half-Drowzee child snuk into the powerplant in Vermillion and took almost total control of the entire staff in minutes. The Hypno had an entire community of people that practically worshiped him that he had kidnapped from the Dome. These are just one off example. Sabrina is a powerful person with the resources of and entire nation at her back. How fucking hard is it to believe that she WOULDN'T try to take more and more total control of her powerbase via any means necessary?

>>
>>32770993
No that part is reasonable.

There's likely a three-way power struggle between Sylph, Sabrina, and Giovanni, with the Gym Leaders and Elite Four just trying to keep the piece.

The fact that Sylph has a lot of anti-Esper tech despite there not really being much contact with Esper monsters besides Espeons, shows they don't trust Sabrina completely.

But the idea of Giovanni being anything other than a charismatic power-hungry jackass is absurd.

“We good.” She inclines her head, tipping one way as Kurojo taps the table again. With a skitter ing motion, she zips around and takes a seat upon the stool, giving Kurojo a nervous glance.

“Hi Araraki!” Marine waves, and the Araraki gives a confused return.

“Jojo, can you tell her about what's happened recently? I don't know exactly how to say all of that.”

You sit there as Kurojo recounts your evolution after the initiation and the visit to Lord Hao's hall. You also hear him throw in some parts about how the two of you are looking for a way home, to the city of glass.

I'm cool with a hunt, second.
But first, ask about what is meant by "Evil".

Uh, guys, the thread is about to die.
>>
>>32771594
No duh.
>>
>>32771594
I'd bump it but it doesn't work
>>
>>32771594
9th from the bottom, we have time for one more update barring unforeseen circumstances
>>
>>32771638
I'd make 9 threads but they'd all be shit threads not worthy of a spot on the board, so never mind.
>>
“Aye, we'll get on a hunt, bu' firs' wha' y' mean 'bout evil?” You see with a stern look. It's not often that you hear that word in your language or no and it's not talking about 'evil' types.

The Araraki makes to get up, to leave, but she slowly sits back down after a shuddering halfhearted breath. Her eyes trail elsewhere as she thinks of the words to say.
“Glass hide. Persons do bad thing. World change. Gods angry. Serebyi? Gone. Peace gone. No Serebyi. No peace. Much evil. Badness. Glass bad. Reason why Serebyi stay gone.
But...
White good. We like white. Ultramarine. No evil. We think. Evil... uhhh. To holy wood maybe... But no.” She seems to get a little frustrated with herself. “Sorry we speak bad. We learn...”

Not quite sure what to make of the Araraki's words, you stare at her, blinking slowly.
What is it that her people know?
Will Lord Hao prove a nuisance in the future?
What great hunt will Cerulean embark upon?

NEXT TIME on ATTACK ON POKEMON HUNTER!

Also, thanks for playing.

Not that strong of a end, but alright. Thanks for running and see you next time.

Will the next few sessions also be compacted into one side of the week like this?
>>
>>32771677
Cool. Next session when?

There sure was a lot of shitposting, namecalling, aspergling and internet rage in this thread.
>>
>>32771694
Good thread Dran. It was a lot of fun. So how many more threads till the timeskip? Also are you going to update your map or is it going to be left as is?
>>
>>32771694
Would it be possible to learn the Araraki language the same way we did common? It'll make it easier to converse. Maybe an impromptu lesson during the hunt, when we have some downtime.
>>
>>32771718
He stated that he wanted us to reach that point by 20 threads. So approximately 17 more, if we can make enough progress in each one.
>>
>>32771694
Thanks for running and pointless question

Have you ever read Hellblazer?
I just think its a wonderful series with an interesting jerk bastard protagonist and a ,imo, fascinating take on magic. and you got that Overhuman limit thing going on...
>>
>>32771696
>>32771710
I'll find out tomorrow. Running three days in a row is a bit tiring, but a lot easier with just one story.

>>32771725
The common is much more similar to your tongue in terms of structure than Araraki or smolder.
It's for the same reason that you're still having a hard time with Tusked native Khakori which i mostly just bird sounds.

>>32771718
Basically >>32771741
Could be more, could be less. We'll see. As for the map, I may.

>>32771760
Where could I check it out?
>>
>>32771778
Could you elaborate more on what the new mutant horns do in more detail than 'ice better' or is it a surprise?
>>
>>32771778
One more question. Do you think i should stop speculating?
>>
>>32771778
>The common is much more similar to your tongue in terms of structure than Araraki or smolder.
Well, we don't necessarily need to speak it, just understand it better. It's like when I learned foreign languages in high school and college. I can barely speak any now, but I can understand them.
>>
>>32771798
Which one are you?

>>32771801
I think I get what you're saying. She takes common just fine but can barely speak it. If Ceru understands Araraki then she can just go on in her native tongue, yes?
>>
>>32771694
Just how old is Agatha? Like if we were to talk about the Lavender Spire with Hao in the future, would he recognize her from some old folk legend?
>>
>>32771778
>Where could I check it out?
Pirate it. Try kickass torrents.

Did you see some of the posts early on noting down the stuff missing from Cerulean's pastebin? Like the Crytten's smell receptors (?) or her webbed hands and feet? And you mentioned that her horns were transformed to better accommodate some of her ice moves; could you specify that bonus?
>>
>>32771832
Lilac's said before that she's old. really, really old.

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/7seu2929494px/%2Fco%2F

the link doesn't have the graphic novels though. a torrent should be easy to find

they're also re-releasing the whole thing in collections if you like having physical copies (I know I do)

Yeah.

The guy whom, according to the other guys, spergs about brainwashing and is being unreasonable/insane.

At what % completeness can we start living in our boat?
>>
>>32771778
Are Shuppets, Duskulls, Gastlys, Misdreavus, and so on, as sucky as the pokedex indicates?
>>
>>32771968
Yes, but they're not exactly common.
>>
>>32771991

how dangerous is Stunfisk, destroyer of worlds?
>>
>>32772061
I was going to have Ceru step on one in Mantree Coast.
>>
I hope we're up for major activity on our new legs.

We're going to trip.
>>
>>32772242
haven't had any trouble with so far...
>>
>>32772245
well we've not done any difficult leg based checks

Rough terrain or some shit.
>>
>>32772263
Rough terrain is fine. The bliger/crytten evolved for rough terrain.
>>
>>32772074
You mentioned that the Smolder and Birdmen are based on races in Guild Wars 2. Well I played a Charr engineer to level 53, and thought the game sucked ass. Thoughts?
>>
>>32772263
just saying so far so good
>>
>>32772274
Well, yeah. I just hope getting used to it doesn't fuck with us.
It's kind of common after growth spurts.
>>
>>32772306
It's fine. We had no difficulty moving around. It's all instinctual stuff.
>>
>>32772298
I like it, but it's better in small doses and exploring contebnt outside of your own box ov PvE or PvP wherever it be.

It's also much better when you experiment with the different classes, though I think the thing that hurts the game the most is the meta and how some people turn it into a minmaxing chore.

Also much better to play with a friend. And even If I drop it for a year they're still upddating in earnest, and I can still play it without shelling out for subscription.

It's also much better if you're a "Sit back and smell the pixels" kind of guy. There's a great attention to detail and wonderful artwork.

I play on Tarnished coast, unofficial RP server. Before the megaserver move blending in with npcs was actually a great pastime.
>>
>>32772341
Also, my biggest gripe about nonhuman races in anything is the general stereotype that they fall into.

I noticed it bad with Norn and Asura.
