You are Zhu Xing, from the city of Xu Chang. Seeking out your destiny, you joined the infamous Dong Zhuo who took over the Han court and declared himself Prime Minister. Having fought well in numerous battles, you became Lu Bu's friend and quickly rose through the ranks as an officer. With the capital city of Luo Yang abandoned and razed to the ground by Dong Zhuo's force, you are now at Chang An. You've gained some fame by helping the populace and defeating the Qiang forces. Another new month starts, as Dong Zhuo's infamy grows every single day and his relations to his officers sour. Character Profile: http://pastebin.com/UTDjnUuXPart 1: http://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/32664983/Part 2: http://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/32683252/>the difficulty of the game will be "medium." Death won't be lurking in every corner, but too many mistakes, stat check failures, and the like will mean the end of the character>if the character dies, you can then play an heir to the character following him, or a completely new one if you wish. The goal is to get to a unified China regardless whether you "win" or "lose">try not to meta the game as much as possible when following through some of the famous events>this will heavily rely on the novel and history, and little bit on Dynasty Warriors. So no, don't expect to rambo in 1000 soldiers by yourself
Winter passes by. The lords and nobles of Chang An eat well and sleep comfortable by their fires, while the peasants suffer and die. Dong Zhuo makes no effort to lower his high taxes and abuse of the people. Most of the lords across the land stop their fighting for a while and build up their strength. You spend most of your days drilling the troops (+2 Lea) and visiting Lu Bu occasionally. You are given your salary (+60 gold)Spring time comes, and soon enough the other lords will begin their marches again. You hear rumors that Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu's relationship has taken even an even worse dive; apparently a handmaiden has come between them. The handmaiden is said to be Wang Yun's daughter. What do you do now? >Patrol the streets and keep order>Abuse a bit of your power and take from the populace>Help the populace out and get some support from the people who already dislike your force>Let's go buy some equipment>Train a stat (Choose)>Visit someone of importance and improve relations (Choose)
>>32767140>>Visit someone of importance and improve relations (Lu Bu)We should talk about our recent battle with Lu Bu sempai and see if he has any advice on how we might better ourselves in the future.and meet his daughter
>>32767140>>Visit someone of importance and improve relations (Lu Bu)Lu Bu sempai
FUCK YEAH, I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL WEEK.Can we take our Lacquer Kettle to go see Lu Bu?
>>32767140Patrol the streets.
>>32767171> Recent. We've gone through winter and are now entering spring.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
>>32767171It's probably time for us to delve into intrigue. If Lu Bu's relationship with Dong Zhuo is an all time low, now might be a good time to discretely pledge our loyalty to Lu Bu.
>>32767140>>Visit someone of importance and improve relations (Lu Bu)
We should try and buy some more gear before we leave Chang'An, after speaking with Lu Bu of course..
>>32767117Fuck yeah Three Kingdoms Quest!
>>32767310Plus we command the City Guards so we would be a valuable co-conspirator anyway
As awesome as Lu Bu is, we really need to expand our social circle.
>>32767390We made friends with that one guy we fought with against the bandits. I'm hoping we meet Zhuge Liang through Lu Bu sempai
>>32767364We have 140 gold so we can probably buy one of Family Banner or Widow Bow. Gliding Spear would also be useful (+2 War) or Whispering Blade as a compromise between the Bow and the Spear.>>32767390We are bros with Fan Chou now. It would be helpful to meet other generals too, but we should keep an eye on our meal ticket.
>>32767140>Let's go buy some equipment>Patrol the streets and keep orderLets use some off that goodwill we earned working the fields to keep the peace
>>32767431Why not just loot the shop when we overthrow Dong?
>>32767431If we're going to get the Family Banner at all, we need to get it ASAP to reap the benefits.
>Visit someone of importance and improve relations (Lu Bu)With the rumors spiraling out and sending vibes of worry through the state, you decide to pay Lu Bu a visit. You visit his house, but the servant tells you that he is not present at his home. He tells you that instead he is at the local tavern. You thank the servant and visit the place. It's a small place without much patrons and made of wood. Off in the corner by a small fire is Lu Bu, still in his battle garments. There are some empty jars of wine in the table and you can see he is drinking away. It seems most of other guests here are staying away, afraid that they might anger Lu Bu.You walk up to Lu Bu and give a bow. He glances at you, his face hazy and obviously drunk."What do you want, Zhu Xing?" he asks, pouring himself another cup.>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as well>Ask him what's wrong>Tell him you came for another sparring match
>>32767670>>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as well
>>32767670>>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as wellwe can ask him what's wrong after
>>32767670>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as wellMaybe he won't kill you if you act normally
>>32767670>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as well"Under our current leader, it seems the best thing to do is have a drink with friends."
I'd like to ask for the attention of my fellow anons.I suggest that we should start going to visit wang yun in order to prevent the collapse of the faction when the 4 generals are refused amnesty.I know that this is meta-gaming but hear me out, if we want try making this faction into a one that might be able to stand on its own two feet, we need to intervene somewhere which caused a historical collapse. With the correct influencing of wang yun, we create a faction a has Wang Yun as a Prime Minister, Lu Bu as its head warlord and a core of liang troops and supporters who will not rebel as long as they are not trampled upon. This sets the foundation for a strong side and deprives Cao Cao of his captive Emperor to lend legitimacy to his side. Liu Bei will likely remain contented in his county holdings, not being usurped by his guest, Lu Bu; he might even answer the call if the Emperor put out a call for loyal subordinates to join him.We make this one change, we change the landscape on the entire Wei Qi board. From that point on, we can't metagame and we enter full alt history mode.
>>32767932>I know that this is meta-gamingcmon, man.
>>32767932Sure, that sounds like a plan. I'd just like there to be some reason for our character to go talk with Wang Yun aside from metagaming.
>>32767670>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as well
>>32767985He's probably well known enough that we would have heard of him.
>>32767932Only if Lu Bu gives us a reason to visit Wang Yun.I'd hate to metagame in a game like this. But we do have good relationships with Fan Chou so we might be able to help him out as well.
>>32767932I'd rather just join Lu Bu's wild ride and fight our way across China.Seriously though, we don't know a single piece of info about the Zhou's court aside from Lu Bu not being happy. This is a retarded amount of meta-gaming, maybe if we had been introduced to Wang Yun already, but i don't think the GM will (or should) allow that.
>Ask him if you can sit and have a drink as wellYou smile and politely ask him if you can sit and have a drink with him as well. He snorts with a wave of his hand."Go right ahead."As you sit, he places a cup in front of your seat with a hard thud. He pours a drink in the cup, but it is sloppy and splashes of white whine spill. He doesn't seem to care as he pours himself next and takes a deep drink."What a damned sorry state of affairs I've come to. Bah," he mutters.>Ask him what's wrong>Throw praises at him in an attempt to cheer him up>State that things are fine, and continued loyalty to Dong Zhuo will do good
>>32767985Well we've heard of the rumblings of him plotting and that his daughter is in the middle of Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu. Thats enough reason to go and seek him out, to see what he intends. Zhu Xing has relatively high Int, he'd know something is up.
>>32768030>>Ask him what's wrong
>>32768030>>Ask him what's wrongdon't cry, lu bu sempai
>>32767932Why don't we try and legitimize Lu Bu's betrayal then?Bring Dong to someone else?
>>32768048>>32768046>>32768044We know what's wrong.>>32768030"It's Dong Zhuo, isn't it?"
>>32768030>>Ask him what's wrong>>32768051Don't think its a problem with lu bu's betrayal of dong zhou. With how hated he is, no one will care. Its more the actions taken in the aftermath of it.
>>32768077I second this.
>>32768030>>Throw praises at him in an attempt to cheer him up
Big question.What do we buy?Bow: 100House Banner: 100Iron Armour: 70
>>32768328Armor. We keep stacking up minor wounds.
>Ask him what's wrong>"It's Dong Zhuo, isn't it?"You take a drink from your cup calmly. "General Lu Bu is one of the highest ranked men in the state. He is usually boasting with confidence, and full of vigor. When I see him in a tavern, drinking by himself, it troubles me and makes me think there is something wrong."You place your cup down, and look at Lu Bu in the eyes."It's Dong Zhuo, isn't it."A small silence brews, as Lu Bu stares back at you. After a few seconds, he frowns and look away."You've been a damned nosy one, haven't you?" he mutters. "I have served the Prime Minister loyally and made many grand deeds. If not for me, would not the coalition lords have taken the Son of Heaven in to custody and destroyed this force?"Lu Bu, as arrogant as he is, is beginning to say some treacherous words..."Tell me Zhu Xing, have you been in love?" he asks taking another deep drink from his cup.>Tell him briefly about your past relations and make a joke>Tell him that you've been looking in to marriage and expanding your own clan>Get to the heart of the matter and talk about the handmaiden you've heard about
>>32768328If we have to buy something at this early stage, Banner. I'd rather wait until we can buy two items at once. Going to shop takes an event now.
>>32768042>zhu xing has relatively high intYeahI'm not entirely sure about that
>>32768328I wish we knew how long we're going to stay in Chang'An for. I'd like to earn some money / stats by helping the locals then buy some gear before Spring comes, which is going to be huge.Best bet would probably be armor. But i'd like to have a Banner by the time we start engaging with other armies since we are an Officer now.Pol: 43Cha: 45Those stats are pretty crappy.
>>32768388>>Tell him that you've been looking in to marriage and expanding your own clan
>>32768388>Tell him briefly about your past relations and make a jokeReel him in.The second choice is too business-like, he wants someone to commiserate with not a stiff who wants to talk his clan. The third choice is risky.
>>32768388>>Tell him that you've been looking in to marriage and expanding your own clanOoh baby.
>>32768388>>Tell him briefly about your past relations and make a jokeThe anon makes a good point that he's looking for someone to share his troubles with
>>32768388>>Tell him that you've been looking in to marriage and expanding your own clan"Ya I have, But I'm to shy to tell her how i feel."
>>32768388>Tell him briefly about your past relations and make a joke>>32768421>>32768432He's not going to throw his daughter at us right now. We should wait for a better time.
>>32768388"No I have not Lu Bu, at least not the love that seems to have claimed you."
>>32768388>Tell him briefly about your past relations and make a joke
>>32768388I'm convinced, changing >>32768421to >>32768463
>>32768475I really feel that the second option is a poor choice guys. Lets not make this about us
>>32768463>>32768484>>32768475Read the atmosphere, we're in a serious situation, and don't want to belittle Lu Bu's love.
>>32768507The second choice is even worse. I am ambivalent the joke option at the end, but you don't talk about business and formalities with a drunk man looking to talk about his love troubles.
>>32768507A little self depreciating humor about our past loves seems to fit the situation better than a business discussion.
>>32768507I agree. I don't think the 'make a joke' portion of the first option is a good idea. But i like the past relationships part.
>>32768077ThisAlso, my captcha is 666, may not live through this thread so good luck to the rest of you.
>>32768544This.Lets talk about our past relationships and not make the joke.
>>32768557I hate to break this to you, but you seem to be stuck in some sort of a time warp.
>>32768571>>32768557At the very least make the joke self-depreciative.
>>32768593Something of how we got played for a fool due to our past love? That I can support.
>>32768593That sounds acceptable to me. Lu Bu most likely would NOT appreciate a joke at his expense but one at our own would likely be fine
>>32768593Let's go with this
>>32768593I am in favor of this.
>>32768021>>32767932From the 2nd thread.>>A month passes. There are small rumors going around that Wang Yun is scheming, although most people dismiss it. You get a small salary. +30 gold.I think that's more than enough of a reason for us to go visit Wang Yun.
>>32768661Depending on how this meeting with Lu Bu goes, Wang Yun is probably going to be on our 'to do' list.
>>32768661Works for me.
>>32768661If we visit Wang Yun, we'll have to tread very carefully. Being seen with a schemer could put us in danger as well.
>>32768388> Get to the heart of the matter and talk about the handmaiden you've heard aboutBest way to get someones panties, trust me, thats how I got a wife
>>32768724But do we want to get into Lu Bu's panties?
>Tell him briefly about your past relations and make a joke"Love?" you reply, stroking your chin and looking upward at the ceiling. "When I was a growing boy, there were quite a few girls at Chang An. Lovely flowers they were. I took a few of them to my bedside and had some relations here and there. Plucked their petals; some of them their first. You'd be surprised at how many women are willing to marry you when you're a noble. But love... Bah, I'll not let a woman tie me down like that. I got things to kill and armies to command."Lu Bu chuckles slightly, and nods."Love makes us all weak, it seems. You've probably heard about the girl that I've been seeing. Diao Chan. The most beautiful woman I have laid my eyes on, and she's treated me with kindness. When Wang Yun invited me to his household, I could not help but be captivated by her. Wang Yun even offered me her hand in marriage. But that damned Dong Zhuo!"He slams his hand."He takes her away from me, makes her his own. He had a hundred other women in his harem, but he has to take Diao Chan! And after the years of service I have given him, he even had the nerve to throw weapons at me!"You tap Lu Bu on his arms, reminding him to keep it down."What shall I do, Zhu Xing? I am backed in a corner."You feel a sense of danger prickle past your mind. Lu Bu is asking for advice, and you might influence something big...>Say you cannot afford any advice and stay silent>Tell Lu Bu a woman is a woman. He will find another, and he should serve Dong Zhuo faithfully so they can conquer the land>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take charge
>>32768763>>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take charge
>>32768763>A decision like this must not be made under the influence of alcohol, especially one so important.>However.....>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take charge >AFTER CERTAIN PREPARATIONS ARE MADE
>>32768763>>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeBut tell him we'll need to make preparations for this. Just killing the man will not solve all the problems.
>>32768763>>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeKill the fatty, Save the people, Get the girl. Now, Wang Yun is on our to do immediately list.
>>32768763>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeIt's for the best. This guy is an all around prick.
>>32768796This.Makes us seem less treasonous and won't bring Lu Bu into a killing frenzy.
>>32768763>>32768796>A decision like this must not be made under the influence of alcohol, especially one so important.>Whatever action you choose, you'll have our support. I'm a little skittish about telling him to murder Dong Zhuo in the middle of a tavern. We might be overheard
>>32768763>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeMight as well follow history.
>>32768763>>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeSeems we need to organize a meeting with Wang Yun as Commandant of the Guards.
>>32768819We're in his house.
>>32768759I did the business routine with her dadMonth later I got his Daughter>FUCK YARRR
>>32768837>>32767670>With the rumors spiraling out and sending vibes of worry through the state, you decide to pay Lu Bu a visit. You visit his house, but the servant tells you that he is not present at his home. He tells you that instead he is at the local tavern. You thank the servant and visit the place.
>>32768763>>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeAFTER some preperationsNow we're no longer metagaming and we have a rough idea of what to do
>>32768819>>Whatever action you choose, you'll have our support.I like this angle. Loyalty to Lu Bu above all else.
>>32768834>>32768827>>32768814>>32768800>>32768799We're in a tavern guys, lets at least be subtle about it and go with >>32768796
>>32768796I cannot support this enough. We need to lay the groundwork for lu bu to not get kicked out of chang an after he kills fatty.
>>32768763>>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeThe wheel of history must turn
>>32768796Yeah, something along the lines of "even if you do remove the problem in front of you, you need to be ready for what happens after, or you are trading one bad situation for another"
>>32768763>>32768796This with >>32768819>Whatever action you choose, you'll have our support.
>>32768796>>32768819Let's combine the two and add some line about how everyone in the army knows Lu Bu to be a valiant hero and how they trust his leadership. Just to give him some reassurance and confidence booster as well.
>>32768819I support thisLu Bu is our bro above all else, not our pawn to use in vapid schemes and power plays
>>32768388We're gonna need to be blunt and honest with Lu Bu. A man pining for a love that he can't have is definitely something that cannot be joked about.I vote for option 3:>Get to the heart of the matter and talk about the handmaiden you've heard about
Alright lads. What's the game plan from here.Do we just approach Wang Yun and offer our services or what?Remember, we got shit all Charisma and Politics so that could be a bad move.
>>32768942Are you the 666 guy again? I think something is very wrong with your 4chan.
>>32768965No, we should be indirect. Say you are a friend of Lu Bu and say that the topic of his daughter's marriage has come up.We'll see where things go from there.
>>32768914But first, pay the innkeeper, take Lu Bu back to his quarters and quietly plot from there. An inn is no place to plot someone's death.
>>32768965Good decisions override luckWe could approach him and appeal to his honor sense (high WAR and LEA)
>>32768965We visit him.And 'discuss matters of the state.
>>32768965Our position as Commander of the City Guard will probably make us very valuable to whatever hes plotting.
>>32768965Be patient man. I'm not making any decision on what to do next until our current business with Lu Bu is settled
>>32768965>>32769037Yes, let's use this. We could say that there's someone spreading malicious rumors about him and that it's your duty as Commander of City Guard to investigate the matter.
>>32768990Visit Wang Yun during the day, respectfully request a private meeting at his convenience, and at the private meeting, mention that we are Lu Bu's friend and would like to see how we can help.
>>32768819>>32768796Both of these together.
>>32769037Yeah, but what the hell have we been doing as City Commandant? Last thread we were out helping the peasant farmers and killing some Qiang bandits with Fan Chou.I doubt we have enough influence within the city to actually sway whatever opinion the city folks have about our PC.
>>32769096Don't we command the City Guards? We could probably order the city guards to lock down the city to help the conspirators out.
>>32769096From the character sheet, the people of chang an appreciate us. So we have some influence there.
Rolled 15>>32769096Them city folks like us.Us on the side of the rebels eill add popular support to their faction
>>32769096Thing is, we have to use discontent against Dong Zhuo against him.Make this not "Lu Bu killing Dong Zhuo" but "Chang An killing Dong Zhuo"
>>32769145Actually, yeah. There is enough popular discontent that we could totally convert this from Lu Bu killing a dude that stole his bitch, to a rebellion with Lu Bu as one of the main combatants.
>>32769145>>32769166Im backing this
>>32769096This guy has a point, i think we should try and bolster some support from the people of Chang'An if an overthrowing is going to occur.Worst case scenario, we have the people backing us up, if Wang Yun tries to scheme us or Lu Bu out of the picture, we have a revolt ready populace who respect us over some fat cat lackey to Zhou.
>>32769096Can someone please explain this shit to me? I've read Romance of the Three Kingdoms and I don't get why generals get all these titles like "Guardian of the West Gate Infantry" and " Heavenly Cavalry Commander of the Rear Guard". What is the point of all these titles because I don't see what the point is
>>32769179>>32769166>>32769145We cna also ask outsider help you seeIn the name of people or whatnot (and then cripple everyone and raise Lu Bu as new Emps)
>>32769210Much honour to famiry, anon.
>>32769210It's just the way Chinese culture is. People would get names like "General of the Flying Tiger Army" or "General who Exterminates Brigands"
>>32769210From my understanding, they're honorifics derived from basic military positions. So, "Guardian of West Gate Infantry" is like, one of 4 infantry commanders, one for each gate or some such. It's just an over-technical way of explaining who and what they command. But i mean, Commander of the City Guard, is Commander of the City Guard.
>>32769210Fancy titles are cool as shit, son
>>32769260>Commander of the City GuardToo bad our PC name aint started with Samuel
>>32769231>raise Lu Bu as new emps>Lu Bu a Chinese EmperorTopkekSeriously though, if we want something like that then may e we should continue helping the peasants that already like us out in the fields. Get a popular revolt of farmers going
>Tell Lu Bu, that perhaps, a certain man needs to be killed and another man needs to take chargeYou think to yourself for a moment. You have served Dong Zhuo faithfully as well, but recently the man has not rewerded you for defeating the Qiang. He is also a brazen tyrant and making things more difficult by abusing the people. He's raped many women, killed many loyal men of the Han, and even had the audacity to loot the tombs of the great Emperors of the past."Perhaps... It is time for Dong Zhuo to die, and for you to take charge, General," you whisper quietly.Lu Bu looks at you in surprise. He was not expecting such words to come out of you. He was expecting some reassurances from a friend... But words of rebellion?"What are you saying, Zhu Xing?" he hisses quietly, looking around and making sure no one is listening. "Have you gone mad?""General, your valiant efforts and deeds have made Dong Zhuo what he is today. He gets to fatten himself up, only because you are there to protect him and root out trouble. And yet, he takes Diao Chan from you, and even makes attempt at your life. He is beginning to lose the support of the people. No... He has never had support from them in the first place. He has only controlled the court so far with fear. General, should you kill the man, offer your loyalties to the Emperor, and raise your forces... Surely you can win the land."A silence hangs in the air as you mutter these words. Lu Bu leans back, obviously uncomfortable. He looks down at his feet, places a hand on his chin. He seems lost in thought. After minutes pass by, he finally speaks."...Yes. I am a hero, am I not? I should bring the treacherous Dong Zhuo down... Save the Han... And fight for my woman. But who will support me in this matter?" he says with a frown.
>>32769179Thanks for the support, anon. The rest of you lot have to remember that this is 190 AD. Back then, people didn't unify that rapidly. Loyalties for the most part stuck to family, clan, village, province, region, then the central government.People back then would much rather support someone who is a local, home-grown hero than some random schmuck from all the way from the northlands or the east coast. If anything, we need to go about looking for local patriarchs and matriarchs and gather the support of the local people as well as convince watch commanders and sergeants to be loyal to us (or eventually our Clan once we get that blasted Clan banner) instead of the corrupt central government headed by Prime Minister Dong Zhuo.
>>32769297Man, can you imagine Lu Bu as Emprah? Its like Sigmar all over again
>>32769302PUMP THE BREAKS.We need to take this slow, Lu Bu is going a mile a minute, we need Wang Yuns side of the coin.
"General, if you are willing to commit to the cause, I, Zhu Xing of Xu Chang will be willing to follow you to the ends of the earth. I am Commandant of the Guards and I control the men of this city. The men trust me, as does the populace of Chang An. Allow me to make friends and garner support for you. We will soon have an army at your backs, and we will take Dong Zhuo's head.”A smile, bright as a sun appears on Lu Bu's face.“Zhu Xing, you are truly a good friend!” he says, clasping his hands on yours. “Yes, I will be willing to kill Dong Zhuo. We should need a few months to prepare, and then we can slay the beast.”You nod and smile. “Yes, General. The Prime Minister is surely the most benevolent lord and a true servant of the Han. I hope we will march together soon, so that we may continue to expand his domain and put the other treacherous lords to heel,” you say out loud in the tavern. You and Lu Bu spend the rest of the day pretending your continued loyalty and drinking merrily as if no words of treachery were ever spoken in the tavern. (Cha +5)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>A week passes. You spend time obtaining the loyalty of the soldiers under your command, but making sure yet not to speak any words of rebellion. You learn of the other officers at Chang An, and many of them do not support Dong Zhuo. You think that this will be an easy plan. One night, you are sleeping comfortably in your bed. You are however wakened by your servant. He informs you that a man has come to visit you, and no matter what, he insists on seeing you. It is midnight, and you grit your teeth. Who in the world would come here at this time?>Tell the servant to kick the man out. Make the guards kill him if he does not.>Go out and meet this visitor.

>>32769338>>Go out and meet this visitor.[shadowrun intensifies]
>>32769338>Go out and meet this visitor. Also put on decent robes and invite the man inside to private quarters. But first, /facepalm. Why the hell did we plot inside of the inn?! The central government has spies everywhere!
>>32769338>>Go out and meet this visitor.>Conceal a dagger to defend yourself if necessary
>>32769338>>Go out and meet this visitor.Bring the Lacquer Kettle.
>>32769338>>Go out and meet this visitor.
>>32769338>>Go out and meet this visitor."Bring my sword srvant, make haste"
>>32769381This, we are no fool.
>>32769402We'd keep our actual weapon close to hand.
>>32769381Fuck the dagger. Use the kettle we got from those farmers to bash their head in if they're here to kill us.
>>32769411But how can we give the kettle to Lu Bu sempai if it's smeared with the brain matter of our assailants?
Just curious, how does Zhu Xing looked like?
>>32769435>implying he wouldn't like it more that waywhy are we giving him the kettle, anyway?
Rolled 7 + 2>>32769381This sounds good. We wouldn't want to offend a friendly with our lack of trust. Even though it would make perfect sense beings they arrived without announcing themselves.
It's probably Lu Bu after he killed Dong Zhuo.
>>32769381Defiantly this, we will meet him, but be prepared to fight back against potential assassins. I am thinking that this is someone who doesn't like Dong Zhou very much and is coming in the dead on night for secrecy, doubt he would tell anyone but us in person his name.
>>32769381ThisLets aproach amicably with a kettle in our Open Palm and a concealed dagger in our Closed Fist
>>32769476> “Yes, I will be willing to kill Dong Zhuo. We should need a few months to prepare, and then we can slay the beast.”Hopefully not.
>>32769476But Lu Bu himself said it will take months to prepare for the act. He wouldn't kill Dong Zhuo without his main co-conspirator knowing about it
>>32769381>>32769399>>32769408>>32769451I disagree. Laws of hospitality frown on bearing arms while greeting guests, especially in or around one's own home. This also makes a terrible impression on the visitor.Just greet normally and invite inside.
>>32769516But the whole point of concealed dagger is that the other guy won't know about it
>>32769516Laws of hospitality go out of the window at midnight
>>3276944619 years old with a pretty big War stat, so probably ripped / buff as fuck.
>>32769476That would be fucking hilarious> Lu Bu stands outside your door carrying the severed head of Dong Zhou>He appears to have been crying
>>32769548I feel the servant might have been a bit more agitated if that was the case.
>Go out and meet this visitor. You dress yourself, and go out to meet your visitor. You are not really worrited about any assailants. Who in the right mind would try to assassinate you in such a direct approach, especially in your household that has guards around it? You go out to your front gates, your servant following with torch in hand. You see a visage of a man, slightly leaning at the front gates. When you come close, and the light reveals his face, you find that it is Wang Yun."Greetings, Commandant. Might we have a few words?"You inwardly smile. You already know what this might be about."Yes, please, do come in.">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wang Yun is dressed in commoner's clothing. It seems he has taken caution to make sure no one knows he is here at your household. You make sure to take the same caution, and order only dim lights to be lit at the guest room. You order your servant to make sure word of this never gets out, and he simply responds that he saw nothing this night before pouring a cup of tea for you and Wang Yun.What do you say to your visitor?>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's here>Get straight to the point. Tell Wang Yun to help you kill Dong Zhuo>Speak about Diao Chan, his daughter, and how it has created a rift between Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu
>>32769596Was the servant about to tell a blood splattered Lu Bu "no"Would you?
>>32769646>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's here.Only makes sense to play the board to see what he has to say first.
>>32769646>>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's hereDon't reveal too much right off the bat, play it cool
>>32769646>>Speak about Diao Chan, his daughter, and how it has created a rift between Dong Zhuo and Lu BuWe're going to lose the politics game, but we might appeal to his feelings as a father.
>>32769646>Use the Lacquer Kettle"Ah, exactly who I wished to see, although perhaps not exactly at this time.""May I inquire as to why you have contacted me?"
>>32769646>>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's hereCAUTIONS GUYS
>>32769646>Play the game of politics.
>>32769646We can't play the game of politics since our POL stat is literally our lowest. We should either go straight into things or smalltalk him, use our Kettle / Musk buffs to sweet talk him.
>>32769646>>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's here
You guys are idiots. Our politics stat is crap. We need to appeal to his emotions.so, >>32769646>Speak about Diao Chan, his daughter, and how it has created a rift between Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu
Rolled 20>>32769646We mustnt forget to ask of the liang troops and generals. Especially due to our friend.
>>32769646>>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's hereAND the Kettlee
>>32769701What could possibly go wrong?
>>32769701GM didn't ask for a POL roll, so I think it's just a bit of a tete-a-tete with a little back and forth. You really don't start a conversation with a prospective partner in crime by diving right into the heart of the matter anyways.
>>32769646>Speak about Diao Chan, his daughter, and how it has created a rift between Dong Zhuo and Lu BuI support this mostly because we can't into politics. Let us be direct
>Speak about Diao Chan, his daughter, and how it has created a rift between Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu
>>32769646>Get straight to the point. Tell Wang Yun to help you kill Dong ZhuoI see no way in which this could go wrong.
>>32769646Speak about diao chan and use the fricking kettle while we're at it!
>>32769762Hmmm make sense, Im just cautious
>>32769768Jesus fuck, the kettle is a passive stat boost. We don't need to smash him over the head with it to 'use' it.
>>32769754I'm assuming hes doing background / passive rolls with our stats on certain things.
Aren't we already using the kettle? Our servant poured us tea
>>32769791Now that's a little paranoid. xD
>>32769784Its more amusing is it not?
>>32769803USE IT AGAIN!I think it could be an interesting talking point though. Tell him how the people of Chang'An hate Dong Zhou and how an elderly family matriarch gave it to you as thanks for your assistance.Make a point that the commoners know you and will support you.
>>32769646>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's here>>32769754This, we are not in an antagonistic relationship with the dude. We both understand why he's here and he needs our help. We have all the power here, we can afford to play coy and gain concessions.
>>32769715We don't need to appeal to anything. He's here to get our help, not the other way around
>>32769778I'm worried that being cautious in our dealings with this Wang Yun could allow him to outsmart/out-talk us, which is why I support being forward
>Trying to out-politic politics guy. This will end in disaster.
>>32769841The only way we havent use it is to bash his head in, anon
>>32769874That's exactly what I'm worried about
>>32769874You stupid asshole. We're both working towards the same goal here, why do you think he came as a commoner?
>>32769874Come on, anon. I think you are freaking out because the prompt starts with "Play Game of Politics"But this >Wang Yun is dressed in commoner's clothing. It seems he has taken caution to make sure no one knows he is here at your household>You inwardly smile. You already know what this might be about.indicates that we aren't in an antagonistic relationship which would lead him to "outsmart us". We have the fucking city guards, he's not going to screw us over. It's just an opening comment.
>>32769894And we're now going to give him concessions for his support that will probably enrage lu bu and cause the entire thing to come crashing down as soon as fatty is dead.
>>32769874I assume you never played ROTK XI? 20 points diff is still manageable in debate duels (assuming items already boost our stat)
>>32769646>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's hereReally, we are not trying to out-politic the politics guy. We are showing we know how to play the game before we backstab one of the most powerful warlords in this time period.
>>32769930THIS. Social niceties were important back in the day!
>>32769916That's dumb.1. We don't have the power to grant concessions that will enrage Lu Bu. We are still a subordinate of Lu Bu in many in this conspiracy.2. He's too invested in the conspiracy to risk us getting pissed for some concessions.3. He's in a compromising position in our home, he's put his fate in our hands. He has already conceded some power to us.
Fuck i hope this goes for more than one thread.Shit's getting real.
>>32769987For some reason /tg/ gets fucking INTENSE when it comes to the Romance. I remember the last time we had a Three Kingdoms quest, the scheming got fucking ridiculous.
>Play the game of politics. Ask him why he's hereYou gesture politely towards his cup of tea, and Wang Yun nods in thanks. He takes a sip from his cup and remarks that it is a good brew."Thank you for your visit, Minister Wang Yun. Tell me though, it is quite late; to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?""I cam simply to see how the Commandant is doing and if he is faring well.""Oh? This late at night? And in such clothing as well, I may have mistaken you for someone else, Sir.""Pray forgive me. I am an old man, and grow senile every day.""No matter, no matter. I am honored to take a visit from an esteemed minister. I have been doing quite fine these days.""I have heard. You also seem to be doing well, winning the support of the people, and the guards as well. I hear that recently you've been looking in the court yourself.""You seem to know quite well. Have you been keeping tabs on me, Sir?""When a general begins to look in to the civil world, some begin to wonder. It is custom after all for warriors and generals to stay out of politics and keep to their duties.""Of course. I simply was making sure as Commandant of the Guards that everything is accounted for and the peace is kept. The Prime Minister is a good man, but it sometimes falls upon me to clean up... certain messes he makes. Like rumors that he is mistreating General Lu Bu."Both of you exchange various words, probing at each other and equivocating. (Pol +3) Wang Yun is old, but he seems to have a good head and a way with words. After a good lengthy discussion, Wang Yun gets up and bows.
>>32769987It's what happens when murder, death, and intrigue are on the line.
>>32770009We did? when?
>>32769987Me too, I fucking love this quest
>>32770010"Zhu Xing. The Han is in peril, and it is up to us loyal servants to save it. I have heard that you are a good man. You help the people of Chang An personally, and they speak amiably about you. You are friends with the valiant Lu Bu, and command the guards here. Help me restore peace, and kill Dong Zhuo in the name of the Emperor.">Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong Zhuo>Coax Wang Yun in to giving you rewards for your service
>>32770034>>Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong ZhuoThis is quite frankly more than I was hoping for.
>>32770034"Who else is on your side Wang Yun?"Lets play the game and pretend we are a loyalist for a moment, lets see if he's being truthful here.
>>32770034Some money would be nice, but i think we should stay on his good side to keep everything copacetic when Lu Bu goes on the warpath.
>>32770034>Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong ZhuoHowever, mention that you could use some funds up front to make the scheme a success. Funds for bribes, equipment, and such. It should be clear that this isn't an extortion, but an investment.
>joining Dong ZhuoI don't know what this quest is and I haven't been reading the thread, but I shiggy
>>32770034>>Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong Zhuo>>32770063Agreed lets test the waters.
>>32770034"You say that, but this is about your daughter isn't it?"
>>32770034>Get up and also bow.>Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong Zhuo.>Also mention we are as close to brothers with Lu Bu.>Offer to write a blood pledge to the conspiracy as a show of loyalty to the cause.
>>32770068This. Hes a lord plotting one of the biggest political overthrows in history. He has dosh, and we need it, some bribe money / equipment would really be nice.
>>32770068This seems like a good idea.Has the Seven Star Dagger already been given to Dong Zhuo? It's 190, right?Because if not we've gotta try and get our hands on that.
>>32770034>Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong Zhuo> rise from chair"For Han, for the Emperor, for the People"> draw dagger> slit palm"On my blood, I serve the will of heaven, beyond the point of death"
>>32770081> Not pursuing Lu Bu.Faggot.
>>32770063>>32770068Supporting both of these. Stress that you'll be making your own move to persuade certain friends to join the loyalists. You want to know who you should target and who to stay away from.
>>32770063this. Then we can declare our allegiance to the han
>>32770112Don't forget his daughter.
>>32770068>>32770063Combine both of these
>>32770093... Wang Yun was the Minister of the Masses. He does have rather deep pockets and could easily finance a whole rebellion by himself.
>>32770081We joined to activate Lu Bu.
>>32770081We serve Lu Bu.He serves Dong Zhuo, but we're doing our best to ensure that that's a temporary engagement.
>>32770121We're gonna give her the lacquer kettle so hard.
>>32770112>>32770129I've only read the book
>>32770109Wow. That's so hardcore we might actually convince him.
>>32770146why did i laugh?
>>32770081Dong Zhuo's been on our List since he got chicken grease all over our nice uniform
>>32770160Is the Lacquer Kettle some sort of running gag?
>>32770081>save best hero lu bu>get best girl lu lingqi>betray biggest asshole dong zhuoseriously best seat in the house
>>32770173Well the quest goer seems to hellbent on their munchkinsm to use da kettle and convince Wang Yun
>>32770173It was something we received as a gift from working the fields for the peasant farmer in the 2nd thread.>>32770092>>32770109Both of these, but let's stick to being a bit more low-key. There may be a spy within the household...
Hey guys. Perhaps we should mention Fan Chou as a possible ally? Wang Yun might be able to extol some effort toward convincing him to join us since he is our friend as well
>>32770173We got the Lacquer Kettle as an item from grateful peasants when we farmed the shit out of their fields. It's an item that gives bonus to relationships when an officer visits our house. We can also give it away as a gift.
>>32770216We dunno if Fan Chou is loyal to Dong Zhuo or not. He's been a made general long before we joined up and we have no idea how long that's been.If we want to bring Fan Chou on, we'd have to pay a personal visit ourselves to his residence.
>>32770216This would be interesting as well. Fan Chou is pretty big time isn't he? But perhaps we should approach him since we are bros
>>32770216I think he's next on our list of 'meet with' people. He's also, regrettably, the last person on that list. Hopefully Wang Yun has some more contacts.
>>32770202>lu bu best hero>not riding alongside Lord Guan into battle
>>32770243>siding with shustop trying to inflict scat on everyone
>>32770243Sorry, this quest is Lu Bu fanboys only.
>>32770243Guan Yu is too honorabru for meSides, we are Zhang Liao now
>>32770273Who we are totally going to be bros with as well.
>>32770261>>32770259you guys are no funI'm gonna start my own 3 kingdoms questwith go, and courtesans
>>32770238He was one of the 4 generals who fight against Lu Bu after the shit hits the fan. If we can't avoid that fight, it would at least be a good idea to turn 4 generals into 3.Especially since 2/3 want to kill the emperor and Fan Chou was the only one stopping them from doing so.
>>32770243We can have gay sex with those 4 dudes after we save lu bu from Dong zhuo corruption
>>32770297But if you look carefully, we ARE Zhang Liao
>>32770299why would you need coutesans when you have important noble characters to romance with?
>>32770237>>32770238>>32770242Perhaps what I'm saying is, lets hear Wang Yun's opinion on involving Fan Chou, and if it is favorable, lets focus on earning his support
I laughed when the QM asked for minimal meta at the beginning of this quest. It's soon became worse than I thought..
>>32770334After we make this rebellion work differently from history, we're in full alternative mode. Meta won't be an issue.
>>32770334QM can always slap us for meta gaming with unforeseen consequences.
>>32770334I know what you mean, but in all honesty Fan Chou is practically the only other officer who has been explicitly stated to be a friend of ours. It would make sense to look to him for support irregardless of any metaknowledge
>>32770334Considering we're going on this route, meta will become hard to achieve.
>>32770334Honestly what did you expect to happen. At the very least we aren't making huge leaps to connect dots / make things happen the way we want. There's no way you can take out the fact most of us know how this is all going to pan out, but so far all of the choices we have made have been logical extensions of our character, who just so happens to be a Lu Bu fanboy.Seriously though, i'd rather divert into alt history early on than end up in huge fights where we know what's going to happen in terms of ambushes and fight outcomes, now THAT would be meta gaming.
>>32770334Eh, this is kinda minimalYou also needs to remember that this is tg, case in point is whenever Pathfinder balance issue is up
>>32770334Chinese history is srs bsns, man. Lots of people died very quickly because these niggas play for keeps. You don't get real crafty, real quick, you end up like this.
>>32770273>>32770312Or we might be Li Su if we aren't careful. >>32770334It's not too bad honestly. All of our decisions are pretty in-character so far. A mancrush on Lu Bu is understandable considering our character wants to be STRONK and he was the first lord we served under. A hatred for Dong Zhuo is understandable because he's a dick and got chicken grease on us.Fan Chou, we befriended through good decisions and good dice roll.Wang Yun literally came to seek us out, we didn't seek him out.
>>32770385This. Knowing and Manipulating battles is way worse than what we're doing.
>>32770312Wait, have we become Zhang Liao to Lu Bu just as how Zhang Liao was to Guan Yu?My memory of several characters fails me at this point, as I am a little intoxicated and cannot remember certain characters well
>>32770411Speaking of which, we may have to read up on the 36 Stratagems in-character so we don't do anything that runs against the Art of War by Sun Tzu.
>>32770443We should buy gear and start training our stats once the initial plans for this betrayal are in place.
>>32770438I mean, Zhang was a good loyal follower of Lu Bu till Cao Cao got him good
>>32770443Assuming we find a good transcription. They didn't exactly mass-produce them in those days, and the writers may not take down everything accurately. But a well-made transcription of a war classic... not only is it good study for our skill in war and intelligence, it'd be a great bribe for a strategist.
>>32770443We could also hire a tutor as well. Surely, there's some good educated men around the imperial capital.
>>32770463>>32770443Now THIS is metagaming
> tfw played every Dynasty Warriors game.> tfw i still don't know what the fuck is going on.PURSUE LU BU!
>>32770456>training our statsCan we finally get tsun-tsun training from lingqi?
>>32770478You might want to read Ravages of Time or Romance of Three Kingdoms manga from the 80's
>>32770475Is us discussing what our character should do next really meta gaming?I mean, a young, inexperienced but headstrong commander looking to expand his knowledge of battle doesn't seem THAT out of place.Unless the 36 stratagems directly affects the Three Kingdoms battles.
>>32770475It's not metagaming to read a famous military book to educate ourselves. >>32770484We just scored massive points with Lu Bu, we help him pull this job and we might get the tsun-tsun.
>>32770503There's also the 2010 Three Kingdoms live action show, which actually starts right around here (a little before, actually, with Cao Cao's failed attempt on Dong Zhuo's life)That'd be another good way to start.
>>32770506I thinks he would b more interested in studying how to master the fighting itself, aka, Rocky montage
>>32770478>>32770520>>32770503Yeah the 2010 TV show was really good and should be a good introduction to the full story.Ravages is really fucking good but it's much better if you know the original story and its characterization.
>Declare your loyalty to the Han, and intent to kill Dong ZhuoYou rise from your chair, and move toward Wang Yun. Grabbing him gently by his elbows, you lift the old man up back to his seat and proceed to bow yourself."Do not lower yourself to someone like me, Minister. I am but a servant of the Han; a sword to smite evil and treachery. I have long waited this day for an opportunity to kill Dong Zhuo and rid this land of this pestilence. With your help, and the support of the other civil ministers, I can accomplish this task and restore power back to the Emperor."Wang Yun is nearly in tears. "Truly? Will you save the Han, Zhu Xing?"Rising, you walk to the side of the room to take your sword. You take the blade form its sheath, and cut a streak across your hand. Balling your hand to a fist, blood dripping, you pour it to your cup of tea and sip from it."I swear by my blood and my ancestors, I will either kill Dong Zhuo or die trying."The old bursts in to tears. He drops to the floor, and bows deeply to you."Bless you Zhu Xing, bless you."Hours pass. Wang Yun informs you that next week, you will initiate the plan to kill Dong Zhuo. He is visiting his mother, and when returning, armed guards will be waiting at the palace to murder him. You will escort Dong Zhuo to the palace yourself. You nod to Wang Yun, and make say your farewells.
>>32770536The day of the plot comes. You informed Lu Bu about Wang Yun, and he is happy that the man is now part of your fold. As told by Wang Yun, Dong Zhuo went outside the city to visit Meiwu and give his honors to his mother. When he returns, you greet Dong Zhuo politely at the gates. With your most trusted guards, you escort Dong Zhuo to the palace. Dong Zhuo mutters some sayings to you.“Zhu Xing, you have been loyal to me and a good general. I will raise you another rank when we return. Lately, I have not been getting along with my foster son. But today I will make amends with Lu Bu. We will then gather the armies, and march out to destroy Cao Cao. We will reach out dream soon enough, and make a land of paradise for ourselves.”You nod politely, and thank Dong Zhuo for his generosity. Throughout the way, Dong Zhuo seems rather uncomfortable. He sees ill looking omens around him, and even at one moment, the sun is eclipsed and the day turns black for a few seconds. You assure Dong Zhuo there is nothing wrong, and he takes some comfort in your words. You reach the palace. Dong Zhuo gets off his carriage, and proceeds to walk toward the palace. A sudden cry comes out from the sides of the palace, and armed men come charging out. The loyalist guards stationed there are caught by surprise and quickly killed. “What!?” Dong Zhuo screams. “Protect me! Zhu Xing, escort me back to the palace!”But you and the guards that were keeping the carriage in check do not protect Dong Zhuo. You and your men instead close the entrance gates of the palace.“What are you doing!? Zhu Xing!”“Death to the traitor!” A shout comes from the palace. Wang Yun comes, Lu Bu beside him. “Dong Zhuo! In the name of the Emperor, we hereby decree your death!”Lu Bu lunges at Dong Zhuo with his mighty halberd, and pieces Dong Zhuo through the chest before he can run.
>>32770520>Not starting at Yellow Turban Revolt>Not joining glorious Taoist movement under the not-magician Zhang BaoIt was all doomed from the start
>>32770551Cheers run across the palace. The loyalist guards throw down their arms and are taken prisoners. You, Wang Yun, and Lu Bu make your way to the palace and to the Emperor, and bow in his prescence.“Dong Zhuo is dead! May your majesty reign in peace!” Wang Yun cries out.The Emperor, a mere teen, begins to shed tears. He has been victimized by Dong Zhuo for a long time, and is finally free. The other ministers begin to cry as well, bowing their heads lowly. Shouts of “Wan sui, wan sui, wan sui!” ring throughout the palace. How do you respond?>Bow down and give your respects as well>Break down in tears, you are a true Han support as well. Oh man, Mengde is gonna be PISSED.His whole game depends on Dong Zhuo being a stubborn bastard long enough for him to create havoc and 'save' the Emperor.A successful coup this early makes Lu Bu a hero before Cao Cao can insert himself into the narrative. That wanton ambition is gonna be directed right the fuck at us.
>>32770661Not him but he could have. We are in alternative plotline now, this could have been a tipping point in history.
>>32770560>Bow down and give your respects as well
>>32770683Guan Du wont happen then?Awsum
>>32770661How do we know that when this is where his story ends? There is no way we could know whether he was truly repentant or not? Were this real and I were in the same position, this would trouble me greatly.Perhaps I am being too soft hearted, but I simply cannot say how I feel about this
>>32770676We are from Xuchang. You know, the capital city of Cao Wei
>>32770683>directed right the fuck at us.Did you say war? I heard you said war? Wan sui to him hahahah
>>32770705Politics with the Cao Wei is definitely going to be interesting now.
>>32770683How early are we with this rebellion? It can't be that much.
>>32770701You are going to excuse his tyranny because he was nice to you in one conversation and promised to raise you a rank?Tyrants aren't tyrannical all the time. They may be nice on occasions to certain privileged few. That doesn't excuse the fact that they are monsters.
FUCK this is hype as shit. It's only 4pm here. I can't wait another week.
>>32770718At the point where Dong Zhuo actually died? Dong Zhuo had already abandoned one capital and fled to another.Cao Cao and Yuan Shao might be able to steal the credit for having driven him to ground, but Lu Bu comes out of this smelling like... well, not roses exactly on account of the patricide, but he comes out of it with a much better reputation than he did historically. Wang Yun is still alive, and if we convince Fan Chou, we look like Han loyalists just waiting for our chance which puts us in a position of virtue. Cao Cao's going to have a much harder time 'saving' the Emperor if there's nothing to save him from.
>>32770722It is more than that. He said he was also going to make amends with Lu Bu and focus on fighting upstarts like Cao Cao. Perhaps, if things had been a bit different he could have been a great leader and not the worthless man we had killed. This would weigh heavily on me, but I stress that this is simply myself. I am likely too softhearted to commit an act of betrayal like this irl
>>32770739Anon, Dong Zhuo already abandoned Luoyang, we are in Changan right now.We are actually pretty similar to historical events at this stage, we might be few months ahead (if we are in 192), or a year ahead (if we are in 191).But I don't want to get too meta.
>>32770739Especially since the Emprah and his ministers didn't flee from Chang An to a burned down Luo Yang after the whole squabbling shenanigans that happened after Lu Bu killed Dong Zhuo and fled after the other generals ganged up against Lu.If anything, we have set ourselves up as the Han Loyalist faction and can easily advance our own agenda against the other warlords by having the Emprah issue a Imperial Edict against them.
>>32770762It's been less than a year since Luoyang burned, so it'd be the latter I think.
>>32770759Redemption is a good thing, but what if he doesn't make amends? The risk was too high here. If a normal man fails to make amends, he and his family might suffer. If a tyrant fails to make amends, the entire country suffers. It was for the good of nation. And he got fucking chicken grease on our uniform, that fat slob.
>>32770762Differences is Wang Yun is alive, and Zhang Liao is nowhere to be found
>>32770778REMOVE DONG REMOVE DONGALSO REMOVE THE REMOVE-DONGS.
>>32770780He's probably still an officer under Lu Bu's command. Maybe we'll meet him if Lu Bu would invite us to his strategy meetings...
>>32770773You know, other generals can still gang up on us. We don't know how many were on board before we killed the shit out of Dong Zhuo>>32770780But Wang Yun was still alive at this stage in history.

GETTIN THINGS DONE.
>>32770778I know what you mean, but I still feel it is a burden to bear. I would not gloat over this man's death, only focus on using it as a means to making things better. What's done is done now. Also>And he got fucking chicken grease on our uniform, that fat slob. lel
>>32770805Eh he did, did he?
>>32770801Sorry, just checked the timeline and Zhang Liao was a ranked officer under Dong Zhuo. Unless Lu Bu is completely bonkers, he should invite Zhang Liao to serve under him by 192.
>Bow down and give your respects as wellWhile the other ministers and men are truly supporters of the Han and are crying their hearts out, you aren't exactly that big of a loyalist. You have some loyalty to the Han, but you also did this for Lu Bu and to rid the land of a fool. You simply bow and give your respects. Lu Bu does the same; he is a man who did this rebellion for himself more than saving the Han.The Emperor makes the people rise. He makes Lu Bu a Marquis and Marshal, Wang Yun a Senior Minister and private tutor of the Emperor, and you a lord and General Who Exterminates Rebels. Lu Bu is greatly pleased by his rewards and bows low, while Wang Yun speaks of his unworthiness and cries more. You follow Lu Bu and bow as well. After the ranks are given out, those who were loyal to Dong Zhuo are brought and killed. In particular, Li Ru, the main adviser of Dong Zhuo is beheaded and ordered that he will receive no funeral. As the executions are carried out, noise of crying and lamenting comes out. Wang Yun angrily orders the man crying to be brought out.An old man is put in front of the Emperor. Wang Yun demands to know who he is, and why is he is crying when tyrants and villains are being killed. The man informs you all that he is Cai Yong, history writer, poet, and a minister."Though Dong Zhuo was a tyrant, he was still my master and I his servant. I do not hold loyalty for him, and I plan to continue to serve the Son of Heaven to my deathbed. But with tradition and following ancient rites, I must mourn for the late Prime Minister."Wang Yun orders the man executed, but the other men intervene and plead for him to live. We would be doing an injustice to remove him from court, lest of all send him to prison. To cry and mourn Dong Zhuo, a traitor and tyrant as he may be, speaks for Minister Cai's character. If the Minister truly did not care for the Han or the Son of Heaven, and was a true servant of Dong Zhuo, I would think that he would have kept silent at the sides. At this moment we must make certain the real traitors are removed, and the true servants remain in service."Wang Yun strokes his bead, contemplating over the issue."Very well. Pardon me, Minister Cai Yong. I may have been overzealous. Please forgive me, and please continue to serve this state well."Cai Yong bows in thanks, to both Wang Yun and you before returning.(Cha +2)Next, the issue of the Xiliang generals come to play. Rolled 43> "General Guo Si's 8000 met against Sun Jian's own 5000. Guo Si was thoroughly defeated. General Li Jue fell in to an ambush by Cao Cao, but managed to retreat in good order. General Fan Chou and his 8000 met Yuan Shu's 10,000, and they fought an even battle with no results. The coalition leaders are gathering near Si Shui gate, and we are to rendezvous with the other generals there on the morrow."Fan Chou is the GOAT commander of those faggots. To do away with his military skills is foolish.
>>32771104>>32771170We could also add that sentencing all of them to death would only bind them together in opposition to the Son of Heaven. By granting the one worthy general pardon, we can weaken their strength and unity.
>>32771181Also Guo Si and Li Jue were the ones who mocked us when we tried to duel Guan Yu. Fan Chou was a bro and we should save him
>>32771154I think the way the GM does it is he averages the first two, then averages that with the 3rd roll.Meaning we come out closer to 70.
>>32771181I think we have a very good chance of holding chang an against their coalition if we bring Fan Chou to our side. After that, I hope Raian enjoys planning alt histories, cause we'll be wildly diverging from the RoTK storyline.
>>32771255Fan Chou is our bro. And if i remember right, the other 3 want to kill the Emperor and Chou calms them down. Without him they're just heretical power mongering warlords.
>>32771255Or he probably cackling with glee at how butt-fucked we are once the other Warlords realize that motha-fuckin' Lu Bu controls the Imperial Court. Then it'll be another coalition to depose us and it'll be Hu Lao Gate all over again.
>>32771215To be honest we deserved to be mocked. Back them we were a Mook with no name recognition. Who the hell sends a nameless Mook (even an elite mook) out as their "champion" for a duel?
>>32771287Wang Yun controls the Imperial Court. And by the feel of things hes not a Tyrant like Zhou, i doubt there would be as much of a resistance (or atleast a LEGITIMATE resistance) to what we have set up now.Atleast, compared to when Dong Zhou was in control.
>>32771287Would that work? If we beat back the three commander's alliance and hold Chang An, Wang Yun remains the most obvious face. Trying to claim Lu Bu controls the court when he seems more interested in fighting and making more kids with diaochan would be hard sell.
>>32771289... tteeeechnically we were a draft Lieutenant under Lu Bu. But we were still a no-name LT with zero confirmed kills under our belt, so yeah, that whole mocking thing was understandable. We should probably rub some petty salt into the other 3 gits wounds. Then turn to Fan Chou and say:>Out of the esteemed generals kneeling here, only General Fan Chou recognized me for my worth. In respect to the General's life, I humbly plea for his life as he has treated me as kinsman in the past.
>>32771289It was a dumb decision, but fuck them anyway. Zhu Xing doesn't forget his embarrassing episodes. I voted for the duel, but I also forgot that Hua Xiong got his ass kicked by motherfucking Guan Yu.
>>32771316>>32771329Pretty sure Wang Yun is known to be a honorable man, he can persuade the Emperor to issue an imperial edict to bring more lords into our fold.
Rolled 18>>32771289That is true, however they were still assholes to us. At least Fan Chou wasn't a total dick to us about it
>>32771330If worse comes to worse and we fail this roll, i'm sure we can make a plea to the Emperor to save Fan Chou as recompense for our role in deposing Dong Zhou, give up our generalhood maybe and serve Lu Bu.That is, if this roll fails, which i doubt it will.
How close are we to 404?
General Who Exterminates Rebels is a pretty nifty title for Zhu Xing.We should bring our siblings to the capital since we are pretty much a big deal now.

>Plead for just Fan Chou>avg roll of 67Once again, you step out from the sides and bow. "Minister, pardons. But I must speak again. While I agree that Generals Li Jue, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji should be executed, for they are ambitious and greedy men, I must ask that you pardon General Fan Chou. I am afraid he has been assigned to the wrong area and that he is being mislabeled with the three three generals. Last year I fought against the Qiang with General Fan Chou, and I learned that he was a good man and capable leader. I vouch for both his abilities and his character.Wang Yun grunts a bit, and looks slightly annoyed."General... You seem to be speaking out much today against the wishes of the court... However... You were an instrumental part in removing the pestilence of this court. And the people can vouch for your goodwill. Very well, I shall pardon Fan Chou. The other three however will be killed."You bow in thanks, and return to the sides.(Cha +2)The rest of the day follows with more appointments, more traitors being killed, and a declaration throughout the city of Dong Zhuo's death. The populace cheer and herald you and the others as heroes. Dong Zhuo's body is thrown out to the streets, and the angry peasants mob his dead body by stabbing him repeatedly and burning his body. All in all, it was a grand day and to be remembered. Beat the guy senseless, ended up finding out said dude was pretty chill and ended up swearing brotherhood with him. Then dude-man brings out his dead brother's widow and proposes that Zhao Yun gets hitched with the widow. Zhao Yun gets mad and punches the guy for this breach in protocol and etiquette.

>>32771693We should contact Wand Yun about holding a festival and or investing in the lower classes.
I've been reading through the two previous threads and notice a big flaw in our combat tactics. Why the hell have we not been using fire attacks? Fire attacks are fucking auto win in this period, and if that fails we can always rely on the age old pincer attack.
>>32771709Mainly because the first fire tactics was going to be hard. That and INT, which is required for fire tactics is essentially our second lowest stat.
>>32771709Reason 1: Our intelligence is notably lower than our war stats, so we tend to be far more effective when we use our might to rally the troops.Reason 2: Raian himself pointed out in Thread 2 Q&A that fire tactics were a trap option when defending Luoyang. Sun Jian had much higher INT than us and we actually made the right choice by holding the line.
>>32771708I would be cautious on contacting Wang Yun. He didn't seem that happy with us with all of our requests, and with the position he is in now I don't want to temp pissing him off more.
>>32771732No its not. It's our mid stat. Leadership and war are higher, politics and charisma is lower.
>>32771709I actually recall OP saying that a fire attack would have been more likely to fail at one point instead of simply using the high ground to our advantage
>>32771708But first, we are hitting the shops. We are still wearing fucking leather armor jesus christ. I hope we get a fat stack of gold from the Son of Heaven for saving his ass from Dong Zhuo.

>>32771746We were also facing against Sun Jian who had deployed scouts ahead of his vanguard to ensure that he wouldn't be walking into fire attacks and ambushes.
>>32771709Well, fire attacks require favorable winds or they can blow back in your face, and we're not great strategists, which means against top-tier heroes known for their wit we're much better off doing shit Flying General style.Maybe if we're up against the kind of dunce we can expect to outmaneuver...
>>32771709We burnt down the Qiang encampment, and aside from that we've really not been in a fight. Also >>32771744 this. We should avoid Wang Yun for a while, unless we start doing things directly for him, he probably hates us for going against him twice in front of both the Emperor and the Court.

>>32771839>Talk about the state of affairs and the landTime for a Marchen period.
>>32771839>>Ask her about some of her poems
>>32771839>Ask her about some of her poems. We need points with the cultured crowd anyways. No sense in trying to become a muscle bound idiot anyways.
>>32771867>> She wants the kettle. All the bitches want our kettle.
>>3277182361 INT is not that high also
>>32771839>>Talk about the state of affairs and the landShe seems like one whose counsel might be worth listening too
Alright, you see this picture? This is a drawing of Cai Yan, now tell me what you see in that?
>>32771839>Ask her about some of her poemsWe can move on to the heavy stuff later. >>32771880If 50's average, we are pretty smart. Just you know, not Guo Jia smart.
>>32771874>No sense in trying to become a muscle bound idiot anyways. It works well for Lu Bu.
>>32771839>>Ask her about some of her poemsShe could teach us all about becoming a more cultured and charismatic man. I will feel bad when we break her heart and use those skills on another, but lu lingqi will be there to comfort us.
>>32771877We may need a draw-fag for the Lacquer Kettle. Eventually.>>32771893/shrugThat was the art style during that period, though I have no idea when.
>>32771867> She wants the kettle. That slut
>>32771909Everyone wants the kettle, anon. Don't think badly of them for it.
>>32771904> tfw not called General of the Lacquer Kettle.
>>32771899I thought we were trying to be the brains of the brawn duo that we're trying to form with Lu Bu.Though to be fair, once Zhang Liao gets added to our cadre, we can be the balanced stat guy.
>>32771904That anon is talking about the phallus-like instrument
>>32771920In that trio, I think we would more closely fill the role of the team's resident "Zhang Fei"
>>32771903Didn't Liu Bei have multiple wives? I think polygamy was a thing in Han Dynasty
>>32771938I think it might have been ok for him because of his high status. I don't think we could get away with it
>>32771936Only if we can be Ravages of Time Zhang Fei.We'd have to take up painting though
>>32771948Do we take up drinking so much our men try and kill us?
>>32771938He did. He also picked up multiple wives after he was recognized by the Emprah as the Imperial Uncle. And yes, polygamy was kosher. Though it's frowned upon for having more wives than your rank and station permits.Oh right, we're a General now. Welp, time to start the harem, I guess.
>>32771936>Being Zhang Fei>everI refuse.
Do we get Black armor or White/Silver armor to show our allegiance to Lu Bu?
>>32771938We can stock pile them, one for us, one saved for our younger brother, and perhaps another for our unborn son, all of our potential future characters need waifus.
Wouldn't Lu Bu look down on us if we didn't take his daughter as our only wife?
>>32771963As much as i love Harems, i really don't want this to devolve into whyfooism. I mean, courting is cool, but i think it would suck if this thread turned into nothing but trying to fuck bitches.
>>32771938Are you going to be the one to tell Lu Lingqi "Sorry honey, polygamy is a thing here so I'm going to get other wives."It's been away since I played RotTK, but I'm pretty sure she has near Lu Bu stats with a higher Int/Pol/Cha
>>32771920We're almost as much brawn as lu bu. This session has seen us try to brach out a bit and shore up weaknesses, but I think ultimately the Chang An peach garden oath brothers would be a very different beast han liu bei's crew.
>>32771971I don't think we've actually sworn allegiance to Lu Bu yet. From what I gather, all we've done was be a total bro to him, but now that we're equals in rank, we may as well make a formal Oath of Brotherhood.
>>32771971>Obviously we are an non-main faction so our armor would be purple, but truthfully I doubt there is much color ordination in armor during this time period as dye be really expensive.
>>32771969Oh don't be that way, Zhang Fei was quite the badass himself anon.
>>32771990>We're almost as much brawn as lu buWat? Do you seriously think that?
>>32771996What should our oath entail?
>>32772008Our war is 82. Max is 100. Yes, I think we're one of the bigger badasses around.
>>32772008We're pretty strong, and as like a LT we managed to go not get our head caved in during a one on one sparring match. Not 'as much brawn as lu bu' but certainly strong.
>>32771960Ravages Zhang Fei is the brains of the trio, who intentionally portrays himself as a brute to raise his older brother's image. >>32771985I'm sure it won't. The writing and structure of the quest isn't really geared towards waifuism. You'll have people who want to marry certain characters, but it won't ever take over the main focus of the quest:Broing it up with Lu Bu sempai
>>32771839>Ask her about some of her poems>>32772003Zhang Fei was also an angry, impulsive drunk that dicked over his own side by being an angry, impulsive drunk. At least Guan Yu has the benefit of having the most badass beard in China.
We should just roll with this, see if courting is a possibility but hold our guns for now. In the end though, settling with Cai Yan isn't that bad of a choice.
>>32772003And cultured, if the movie Red Cliffs was anything to go by.>>32772008I doubt we're anywhere near Lu Bu's level. Lu Bu in every game has a 100 in WAR. We only got 83 in WAR.For perspective, Zhang Fei has 98, Zhao Yun has 99, and Liu Bei is somewhere in the 70s.>>32772011>Brotherhood and loyalty until the end of the world and when we die, we will all swear to meet each other in the next world.Basically, the stuff that was said in the Peach Orchard.
>>32772021We are pretty strong and we have a lot of potential. However, I would like to remind you that Raian said that we would likely have lost the duel with Cheng Pu.With a good showing, but still Cheng Pu's a good general, but not the biggest badass around.
>>32772021>implying Lu Bu hasn't broken the WAR limit
>>32772062Lu Bu does in quite a RoTK games with items such as the Red Hare or his halbred.
>>32772073And his equivalents, Honda Tadakatsu and Kenshin Uesugi, tend to do the same in Nobunaga's Ambition.
>>32772054Yeah, but it would just be settling.
>>32772085>>32772054Time to max out our stats and do heroic deeds so we can get both
>>32772042Still a badass nonethelessalthough his beard could never compare to Guan Yu's
>>32772085Why would you show that picture over this?
>>32772105> Furshit.> Not Superior Battle Waifu.Out.
>>32772105I hate to break it to you anon, but Lingqi doesn't have a fluffy tail in this quest.
>Ask her about some of her poemsYou ask her about her poems and for her to recite one. She is delighted with the request, and actually informs you that she made one the other day. The poem is about the harshness and tribulations of Winter, but how the coming of Spring brings new life and restoration to the land. I can't in to poems but whatever>White winds bring snow>The land is frosted over, flowers wilt in the garden>The river Liao is frozen over,>treacherous paths are made for those who walk upon>But Spring rises from the east>The hue of green is seen once again>The people stir, they rise for a new seasonShe asks you if you analyze the poem and see what it's about, but unfortunately you are not savvy enough to analyze it. She giggles politely and informs you that it is analogous to the Han being restored.Time passes, and you both enjoy yourself. Cai Yan is a smart woman, beautiful, and it is obvious you both get along well. You remember that you really need to be expanding your own clan as well... Should you try and the family game?>Politely ask Cai Yan to marry you>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return home
So I wonder what Chen Gong is going to do now that we changed history.
>>32772127>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return homeFeck off OP, Lu Bu's daughter is ours.
>>32772127>>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return homeSorry, but we have to make a bid for lingqi before I can ok this.
>>32772127>>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return homeNo kettle for her.
>>32772105Because we're not furfags that deserve to burn in hell?
>>32772127>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return homeNot yetToo much time has been wasted dawdling in internal political affairsIT IS TIME FOR WAR
>>32772127>>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return homeMah Lu Linqi She can be our consort or other brother can try to court her
So what does being a General entail exactly?Do we still lead the City Guard?Do we get dosh for deposing Dong Zhou?Do we have more men under our command?
>>32772146In lingqi's pants
>>32772127>She asks you if you analyze the poem and see what it's about, but unfortunately you are not savvy enough to analyze it. She giggles politely and informs you that it is analogous to the Han being restored. That's adorable
>>32772127Marry her.We bro it up with Lu Bu, marrying his daughter would not be such a good idea as it would be somewhat similar to incest.
>>32772127>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return home.>Send a messenger to her father and ask him if he was aware that his daughter had paid a visit to us.Even if we were to propose to her, we'd have to go through the proper procedure, lest we dishonor ourselves and the woman's family honor.
>>32772146Also ITS TIME FOR A SHOPPING SPREE
>>32772127I say marry herWe can peach garden Lu Bu later
>>32772165Sucks for her, but all we did was put the Han on life support, there is no bringing it back.
>>32772172This, when proposing to marry you go through the father.
>>32772179>>32772170We can always come back to her if we don't want to marry Lingqi
>>32772195This.Seriously, no need for fast action.
>>32772181Eh. If Wang Yun has some time to get the emperor up to speed, and there's a brotherhood of Lu Bu, Zhang Liao and us out there kicking everyone else's shit in, it's possible the Han could have a resurgence.
>>32772195Perhaps we could marry her once we are more cultured and can actually understand her poems.
>>32772202Lu Bu already fought the trio by this point though, it will be hard to bring them together.
You guys are seriously this hard for Lingqi?Willing to bet she will reject all of you.
>>32772214Lu Bu's daughter's the shit man.Strength runs in the blood, Lu Bu has it in arm and she has it in brain. She's useful in more than one way.
>>32772214>yfw Lingqi doesn't love you
>>32772231>Implying Marriages at this level are about love
>>32772148This. Our younger brother's probably smarter and better at politics and that whole diplomacy stuff anyways.
>>32772231Don't anon. My heart can't take it.
>>32772214We can't marry Lu Bu so we'll marry the closest thing to him
We can have more than one wife you waifu fools.
>>32772211I find it a pretty cute couple as it is.Zhu Xing the gruff yet honorable warrior paired up with the cultured and beautiful Cai Yan
>>32772240See: >>32771416Lets set up our family in deep.
>>32772214We will satisfy her with Yuan Yao's head!
>>32771416I wonder if Liu Bei will learn that he's related to the imperial family in this alt universe
>>32772265Not if we kill him lol
>>32772248Yeah, but marriage order dictates the prestige of the wives. If we marry Lu Bu's daughter first, that would make her the 1st wife and therefore the head of the household when we're not around. Adding Cai Yan as 2nd wife would be a politically better choice than the other way around.Besides, Lu Bu would be mad as hell if we made his daughter the 2nd consort instead of the 1st wife that she should be.
>>32772265If the Han re-surges we could probably recruit him back into it and let him participate in the political game.
>>32772214I'd take you up on that bet, seeing as we saved her father's life. I'd say that's worth quite a few brownie points
Page 9 boys. Are we going to wrap up here, or try for another one?
>>32772265He already does thanks to his mum. It's just that he hasn't and won't be able to confirm his lineage until he pays a visit to the Imperial Court.
>>32772287I'm willing to keep going, but its completely up to Raian
>>32772287It's 4am est, we still have plenty of time before this gets bumped off.
>>32772278Agreeing with this. Lu Bu's daughter has to be first wife if we are going with multiple wives. We don't want an angry Lu Bu
>>32772287Just archived the quest so we can proceed safely.
>End the day and walk Cai Yan out so she can return homeYou decide now isn't the time for marriage, nor are you infatuated enough with Cai Yan to marry her. You talk for a few more brief moments before you walk her out of your house. She politely bows to you, and says to visit her any time should you wish.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>A week passes by. You are given your salary, along with a personal gold fund from the Emperor for your deeds (+140 gold). By the week's end, order has been restored and most who are deemed rebels killed. The rest is short-lived however. A soldier from the west comes in a panic, informing everyone that the Xiliang generals have risen in rebellion. They have informed the garrisons and soldiers at the west that Wang Yun planned to kill them all, and have created a vast army to take back Chang An. The news is grim as you, Wang Yun, and Lu Bu gather at the council. Wang Yun is worried, and the other ministers are frightened. Their army is much greater than the forces at the capital, and it was a mistake to not pardon the generals.Fan Chou has yet to return a reply and there is no word from him despite the pardon.Lu Bu stands up."They are but sheeps led by other sheep. I am Marshal now. Give me the elite troops, and let me go crush them."The ministers discuss, and they believe there is no choice but to fight them. Staying here and being surrounded through a siege, especially with Chang An's poor farmlands can mean certain defeat.Wang Yun gives his thoughts."General Lu Bu should take 75% of the force and march to meet the enemy. The rest of the troops must guard the city. We do not know if there are more rebels, and we do not know if Cao Cao or Yuan Shao may make a move on us. General Zhu should stay with us at the capital while the Marshall crushes the rebel army."The plan sounds good, and most of the ministers agree. How do you reply?>Agree, and make defenses at Chang An>Disagree, and ask that you march with Lu Bu
>>32772340>>Disagree, and ask that you march with Lu BuWe have to convince Fan Chou to abandon the other lords. Can we try and buy shit quickly before marching out?
>>32772340>Agree, and make defenses at Chang An
>>32772340>>Agree, and make defenses at Chang AnWe should also make preparations to evacuate the Emperor, Wang Yun and court, and Lu Bu's family just in case. It's always wise to be prudent.
>>32772340I'm kinda torn here. Making sure the capital isn't sacked is a good thing, but splitting our forces when we're already outnumbered is a bad thing.I think i'll go with >Disagree, and ask that you march with Lu BuHe needs the entire army with him to face down the rebels. We might also be able to get Fan Chou to join.
>>32772340>Agree, and make defenses at Chang AnMay I suggest we hire a tactician?
>>32772340>>32772362>>32772358Switching my vote to this. If we persuade Fan Chou, then we can turn the tide of the battle.Impress upon the Imperial officials that this is the key to victory!
>>32772340>>Disagree, and ask that you march with Lu BuPost trusted men around Diao Chan and the Lu family so that we can evacuate if we can't convince Fan Chou
>>32772340>Agree, and make defenses at Chang AnHopefully Fan Chou will not join the coalition against us thanks to our efforts. Although I would love to get Fan Chou on our side, I feel that without us around that Chang An would be completely defenselessWe should defend the capital for now
>>32772340March with Lu Bu.
>>32772340Regardless of what we choose, let's hit the shops before we get to the battle.
>leaving the capital undefendedI seriously hope you guys don't do this.
>>32772340>>Disagree, and ask that you march with Lu Bu
>>32772340"Can we simply not pardon them? Wang Yun, I had hoped my speaking out for Fan Chou would have swayed you for that very fact."
>>32772404The capital will be defended by 25% of troops, it's just that some other General will be leading the defense. I don't know what the right choice is here, but I don't think we are going to straight up leave the capital with no troop.
>>32772404We need to get in contact with Fan Chou. We can't do that at the capital.Lu Bu will lose this fight without reinforcements.
>>32772418>Lu Bu will lose this fight without reinforcements.I'm not sure about this actually, I think we're underestimating Lu Bu a lot here.
>>3277240425% of the forces are there. We are friends with Fan Chou, he controls the bulk of the enemy forces (or at least he did last time we saw him), if we can convince him to leave the rebellion, we can avoid massive bloodshed and maintain our only bro outside of Lu Bu.
>>32772428If Fan Chou has joined the rebels, he's fucked. If he hasn't and just stays neutral, he might be able to win. If we convince Fan Chou to join, he'll definitely win.
>>32772340>Call up all senior officers and tacticians and discuss a defense plan.>Stick a trusted aide to oversee the defense, sortie with Lu Bu.I hate these 2 option choices.
>>32772428OP said this isn't Dynasty Warriors. Lu Bu is good, but its not like he can go musou mode and shred through a thousand men on his own.
>>32772369This. We need a strategist/tactician in the long run.Metagaming a bit, but where the hell is Zhang Liao?! He should be handling all this brainy stuff instead of /tg/!
>>32772449Its funny, because Lu Bu is pretty much as OP in the game as he was in the actual Epic
>>32772454We did the rebellion a year early, so he's still a relative no-name in our forces.
If we can buy, here are my suggestions.> Wind Bow: 100 gold (Chance of wounding enemy officer in duels as a separate check)We're probably going to be dueling and being a bow bound horseman will be sick.> Iron Armor: 70 gold (+1 War, It's better than the Leather Armor...)Better than leather armor.> Family Banner: 100 gold (+2 Pol, People recognize your clan better and your fame grows slight better)This is our biggest chance to build a name for ourselves outside of Lu Bu and the people of Chang'An.
>>32772476We should probably check the shop and see if there's anything new, but I'd say Iron armor or wind bow, Family Banner stuff we can gain over time.
>>32772476I'm not sure if the wind bow or the sword are better, honestly. +1 war isn't much, but it's there all the time.
>>32772492We have 280 gold, we can buy all 3.
>>32772476I suggest the banner horse and if we can afford it the halberdHalberds are heroes choice weapons
>>32772505We should be war-centric right now, considering we are in active combat.
>>32772498The stats on most of the items we were presented with are minimal at best, i'm looking at the effects. I get the feeling if we do go with Lu Bu, we're going to be dueling some of those lords we didn't pardon (or atleast i hope we get to).Wind Bow + Whispering Blade could be awesome in terms of dueling.
>>32772512only weapon choices were bow, sword or spear. Spear gives +2 war but no dueling bonus. Sword gives +1 war and higher chance to wound in duels. Bow gives a separate check for wounds.
>>32772514Family Banner is important to get early, particularly before we enter major battle where we can get a large amount of fame. Balanced approach seems to be advisable here.
>>32772517That's a good point, actually. The banner would be nice, but we're going to have plenty of battles after this. If both dueling weapons stack their bonuses, they would be vastly more useful than the banner.
>>32772340>Agree, and make defenses at Chang AnIf Senpai fucks up we can cover his shit.
>>32772476>>32772498>>32772517>>32772522This is all dependent on if OP lets us shop before riding out.If he does though, i suggest Bow and Blade in case we duel (which if given the option we should, that will also make us a recognized name which overrides the need for the banner.)Then we have 80 gold left, so probably just the armor, since we already have a horse.
>>32772530What's a banner going to do for us now? We're a general, we're debating with the highest tiers of our own faction! The banner will do little aside from make us well known among the enemy, which isn't a good thing, being underestimated is better than overestimated.
>>32772540I'm pretty sure we don't have a horse
>>32772561We bought a horse already, it's a normal horse.
>>32772561I'm pretty sure you're wrong.
>>32772561>>Musk>>Hazel Hare>You lose 100 gold, and obtain your new items. We got the bottom of the barrel horse.
>>32772576Oh wellGuess its time to buy a new one
>>32772598The marginal benefit of a new horse over other war-related equipment is probably not that great
>Disagree, and ask that you march with Lu Bu"I am General Who Exterminates Rebels," you declare. "I cannot do so by staying here. Let me march with Marshall Lu Bu."The ministers are troubled by this response. Wang Yun looks at you with a worried expression."We do not have much capable generals here. We need someone of your caliber to defend the capital city."You shake your head."Yuan Shao and Cao Cao will not move. They cannot attack here or they will put themselves in danger in lieu of the other force. Let me march with the Marshall."Wang Yun sighs and strokes his beard. He doesn't think think it's a good idea."...Very well. We shall find someone else to lead the defenses. Safe travels, generals."You march out with Lu Bu, 10,000 troops in total. A day of travel, and a report comes from a soldier. "Generals Guo Si and Li Jue march here with 20,000 men. They are being advised by an advisor named Jia Xu. They have sent up camp on the hillsides."Your own forces set up camp. As you make sure everything is going well, you hear an argument from inside the tent of Lu Bu."Father, I am a grown woman and a warrior now. I will march and meet the enemy as well.""Damn it Lingqi! This is not a game, this is war!""I understand that! I am prepared to lay down my life for your cause!"You do not want to interrupt, but you need to make plans to defeat the enemy with Lu Bu. You walk in and give a bow. The air is slightly awkward."Zhu Xing!" Lu Bu says. "Tell my foolish daughter her place!" he demands. It seems you've been caught in an awkward position... You look at Lu Bu's daughter. She is young and dressed in black armor. Her hair is cut short and she looks back at you with fierce eyes. It seems she has taken some of her father's features; physically and the attitude. What do you say?>Tell the daughter she should stay back and obey Lu Bu>Tell Lu Bu she should be allowed to fight>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fight
>>32772628>>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fightIf she has Lu Bu's blood, she won't need much protecting
>>32772628>>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fightYesss, this.
>>32772628>>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fight
>>32772628>>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fightThe blood of Lu Bu is stronk
>>32772628"You would deny any child of yours the right to fight Lu Bu?"At least this way we don't seem too presumptuous and we won't make a bad impression on her since she obviously doesn't want to be protected.
>>32772628>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fightadd >>32772644 though
>>32772628>>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fightAlso. Is there any word on Fan Chou? Is he in the surrounding lands? Any way to contact him?
>>32772628>>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fightYES
>>32772628>Tell the daughter she should stay back and obey Lu BuWe have no time for this
>>32772667Son, she's probably a bigger badass than we are right now. Since we still have been unable to buy anything.
>>32772667>We have no time for this>Anons have been begging for Lingqi since quest #1
>>32772665>>32772657>>32772647>>32772643>>32772641>>32772639Idiots, that's the worst choice. She wants to fight on her own.
>>32772674She gets to fight, Lu Bu is at least a little reassured she won't get slaughtered, we get a waifu. I'm not seeing the downside here.
>>32772674She's going to have to learn to compromise.
>>32772674She better be thankful she even gets to fight
>>32772692Training her early.. I like the way you think, anon.
>>32772674> Implying us 'protecting' her won't make her tsundere for our kettle
>>32772673>Being more concerned about pussy than the upcoming battleWhat are you gay?>>32772672Shit, I forgot about buying stuff
>>32772704We still got good stats.
Man i hope us riding out doesn't come to bite us in the ass. Gonna be pissed the fuck off if Fan Chou decides to sneak attack the city while we rode out to try and find / convert him.
>mfw she dies or gets captured
>>32772704>Implying Im concerned>IMplying Im not hype to be fighting with the family>Implying the pussy isn't my secondary objective.
>>32772709He implied that we would have lost the duel with Cheng Pu because we had crappy equipment. We've got a horse since then but nothing else. Our war stats have gone up +5 or so points but that's not a huge difference. We've got to be careful here.
>>32772628>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fight."My lord Marshall, is it right to prevent the heart of a warrior from pursuing what they truly believe in? Let her fight to her heart's content."Then wait for her to leave the tent. Then tell Lu Bu:"My apologies, but I will personal see to it that she is guarded fiercely while she is on the field."
>>32772728He really seems dead set on making us eat an update for weapon upgrades.
>>32772732Shouldn't of wasted time with Cai Yan.
>>32772718You just had to invoke Murphy's Law, didn't you?
>>32772718>implying Fan Chou isn't going to be all riders of the rohirrim and save our asses at the last second.
>>32772744> tfw my last name is Murphy.> tfw i was the one who thought riding out would let us meet/convince Fan Chou.Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
>Say you will protect her on the field of battle, and allow her to fight"Marshall, all birds must leave their nest one day. You cannot control your sons and daughters forever. Allow her to fight, and let me guard her.""What!? You too Zhu Xing!?"I will assure you her safety, or you can take my head."Lu Bu grunts, and stays silent for a few seconds. He thinks over the issue, but before he can finish..."I will fight whether you like it or not Father. I will not sit idly by and fiddled around for political purposes like the other women of this land."She looks at you, and her brows furrow."And I will not be condescended down by anyone. I am a warrior of my own right, and if you both cannot respect my prowess, than I shall earn more kills on the battlefield than both of you by my own right."She walks out the tent without another reply or chance for both of you to speak up. Lu Bu places a hand on his forehead and mutters. "I've spoiled that damn girl too much. I wish she was like her sister, more respectful and obedient."He sighs."But enough of that. Let us get to the battle at hand. We are facing Guo Si and Li Jue. They are but mere pigs and I will destroy them. I do not know what happened with those Zhang Ji and Fan Chou. Probably in the reserves and at the back. No matter, all we need to do is crush these two and we can return to Chang An freely. What do you wish to do, Zhu Xing?">Attack Li Jue>Attack Guo Si>Split your forces in half, attack both at the same time>Defend your location and attempt to draw the other two out>Try a night raid>[Any other plans you want to try out]
>>32772718I think that's exactly what's going to happen. If that's the case, Fan Chou jumps to #1 on the list.>>32772743Everyone wanted to go see who the lady was, and vast majority wanted to spend time with her. We really should have had an opportunity to buy goods before we set out. What kind of General doesn't even buy equipment for himself before he sets out on a massive fight? But whatever, we'll make do with what we have
>>32772760>"And I will not be condescended down by anyone. I am a warrior of my own right, and if you both cannot respect my prowess, than I shall earn more kills on the battlefield than both of you by my own right."Dat Tsundere.
>>32772760>>Defend your location and attempt to draw the other two outWe'll be the anvil to lu bu's hammer.
>>32772760>>[Any other plans you want to try out]Send a discrete messengers to Fan Chou in the back.Remind him of our old friendship, that we stuck our neck out to get him paroled, and that he neededn't waste his life with these villians. Tell him the Emperor will surely reward him if he turns against Guo Si and Li Jue at the pivotal moment in battle. We are going to Sekigahara these motherfuckers.
>>32772723Maybe I jumped the gun on that one, but don't be scaring me like that. Gotta have our priorities and shitWouldn't mind getting dat bonus objective
>>32772760Night raid Guo Si camp
>>32772760>Defend your location and attempt to draw the other two outNight Raid will likely fail since we don't have a strategist and they do. We are outnumbered 2 to 1 so a defensive position is likely our best bet. >>32772785I also wrote this, so I'm combining the two plans if it's feasible to find and reach Fan Chou.
>>32772772This is you.>>32772760Night raid!
>>32772760>Survey the terrain first, then draw up a plan of defense using the terrain to our advantage.Just as a sports team has an offensive and defensive team, we need to play the defense to Lu Bu's offense.Yeah, it keeps us away from the main action but it'll suck if we get raided while we're away from camp and our food supplies get wrecked.
>>32772785The problem here is that we have no idea where he is. Maybe we should go to a defensive stance, and then send out scouts to find the other two forces. When they're located, we personally ride out to talk with Fan Chou.
>>32772760>[Any other plans you want to try out] Can we buy stuff?
>>32772760Defensive position. We hold the line, its our thing.
>>32772760>Try a night raidIt worked well for us the last time we fought against larger numbers
>>32772785>>32772796>>32772801Yeah, this sounds like what we should do. Defense while looking for Fan Chou.
>>32772760>>32772801Supporting this, defensive line and try to find Fan Chou so we can talk to him
>>32772814But they were mooks with no strategists. Night Raid is risky with our intelligence.
Night raid worked last time. But we also held the line in our first encounter and it worked really well. We can try a Pincer assault if we split our unit. Or a Pincer assault with Lu Bu.Either way. Here is what we know about them from our experiences.> General Guo Si's 8000 met against Sun Jian's own 5000. Guo Si was thoroughly defeated. General Li Jue fell in to an ambush by Cao Cao, but managed to retreat in good order. It seems Guo Si is the weaker of the two, getting thoroughly trounced by less men. I think he should be our primary target, if he can be routed by Sun Jian, he can easily be routed by Lu Bu + Us.Either way, contacting, or attempting to contact Fan Chou should be our primary concern, it is after all the main reason we came out here.
>>32772814They were also Qiang fighters with a crappy leader who didn't post good enough sentries to spot us in the first place.
>>32772760>Defend your location and attempt to draw the other two outLet Lu Bu do the fighting. We are the wall that can never break.
>>32772760>>[Any other plans you want to try out]Ask Lu Bu what the fuck he wants to doBecause you know, HE KNOWS WHAT TO DO
>>32772864>Let Lu Bu do the fighting. We are the wall that can never break.I kind of like this. He is the Demon's Spear, we are the Divine Shield. Or something like that.
>>32772871He asked us what we want to do, we are not a mindless puppet. We are a general and capable subordinate on our own merits.
>>32772882>>32772864Lu Bu + Zhu Xing confirmed GOAT combo.
>>32772871Uh... going by Romance XI, he has 25 for INT and 16 in POL.He ain't a tactician nor a strategist. All he's good at is beating the shit outta people in a straight-up manner.
>>32772897"War" is everything to do with war.
>Defend your location and attempt to draw the other two out>Try to contact Fan ChouYou call in a soldier. You write a letter, and inform him to deliver it to Fan Chou. He looks at you with a slight frown."General... We do not know where Fan Chou is. Where shall I go?""I don't know, it's your damned job to find him! Go behind enemy lines or something!"The soldier is flustered, bows, and goes out to deliver your message to Fan Chou. If he can... You then turn to Lu Bu, and declare that you should make defenses and hold the line. Lu Bu slightly frowns, and informs you that he would rather attack, but accepts your plan.A day passes. You make defenses on your side, and throw taunts to the enemy. The enemy however do not budge from their hill spots. It seems they know the advantageous location they hold and will not fight you until you go to their side of the battlefield. The same happens the second day, and Lu Bu begins to grow more agitated at the lack of action. What should you do?>Keep the position, and tell Lu Bu to be patient>Attack. Nothing will come out of just standing in position>Perhaps try that raid again...
>>32772906In this quest, it's clearly not.
>>32772897>All he's good at is beating the shit outta people in a straight-up manner.Admittedly, he does do that very VERY well.
>>32772908Two options.Wait and see if your soldier found Fan Chou.Night raid. They have confirmed better location and more troops, attacking them head on is a total deathwish.
>>32772908"Lu Bu, you are the greatest warrior under the sun, with the power of the Emperor behind you, it is no wonder that they cower in the hills"That being said, we need to keep contact with Chang An, I have a feeling it's under siege.
>>32772908So something needs to change. How about this. Lu Bu takes half our forces and makes it look like he's racing back to the capital. We keep the other half in our defensive positions. When the enemy attacks, we hold until Lu Bu's forces turn around as smash into their flank.
>>32772908>Make a feint; personally lead a quarter of the forces for a flank assault while Lu Bu takes half of the remaining force for a frontal assault.Really wish we had surveyed the terrain beforehand. Then we'd find an advantageous place to fight.
>>32772908What is the terrain like and do we know if there is a town or how they're getting supplies? Because I have a crazy plan that might not work, but might work and if it does it'd be awesome.
>>32772908>Keep the position, and tell Lu Bu to be patient>Perhaps try that raid again...Tell Lu Bu that you are working on bringing Fan Chou to your side.Since he's antsy, he could lead our elites in a night raid aimed at burning down their supplies while the rest of the army maintains its defensive position. If we can burn down their supplies, they'll have to fight or retreat.
>>32772908>Keep the position, and tell Lu Bu to be patientNot sure if Lu Bu will comply but we gotta wait for Fan Chou to be found
>>32772936This + >>32772931
>>32772948I'm not holding out much hope for that. We only sent out one guy. I had hoped to send out like 20.
>>32772931>>32772936>>32772941I was thinking of something similar to this. We send out small Fire Units under the cover of night, when morning comes we have Lu Bu lead a force to charge at the front. When the enemy goes out to meet him, we have the Fire Units attack them from behind/attack their supply depots.
>>32772960The problem is that Fire Units would be detected in the morning.Fire attack needs to happen at a night. We could do dual night raids with Lu Bu leading the main raid and us leading the fire units, but it seems needlessly duplicative.
>>32772948He might not even be here in the first place.I suggest we do a combination of >>32772936 and >>32772931If we can hold the line long enough and coax them into attacking us, Lu Bu will be able to flank them and DECIMATE them. We will probably take some losses though. Also, we need to keep an eye on Chang'An, just in case Fan Chou and the other rebellious leader decided to attack the capital while we fight here.
>>32772940The terrain is rocky and mostly dirty. Slightly flat on your side, more heavy on theirs. They are holding high positions on two separate locations, but are close to another.
>>32772936>>32772931Oh yes backing these
>>32772908RaianDescribe the terrain for us please
>>32772936I'll back this. It's relatively simple, but at the same time even if they know it's a trap the enemy will think their 2:1 advantage will let them fight through it.
>>32772908>>32772936>>32772931We can also spread rumors that Yuan Shao is attacking the capital. This would make the enemy anxious to capture the capital before Yuan Shao does, which might make them more aggressive.
>>32772931Lu Bu's arrogant but he's not an idiot. I fear what might happen if we patronize him like that. Why can't we simply explain our plan to him to gain Fan Chou's help instead of coddling him like a child with empty praise?
>>32772999I thought we were telling him everything we're doing
>>32772999>>32773009I'm sorry, I replied to that post alone without reading the ones immediately after that.
>>32772999Lu Bu likes being praised, that's part of his personality, and we are also being quite upfront about his plans as well.
So, everyone in favor of splitting the force, us defending and Lu Bu + Elites 'retreating' only to flank and save us should they attack?
>>32773032Yeah, seems like a solid plan.
>>32773032We should send a few scouts to check out An Chang while we do so though.
>>32773032I would also add in spreading rumors of the capital being under siege to give a plausible explanation as to why Lu Bu is retreating.
>>32773043I'm not sure how we'd accomplish that when two armies are facing off against each on separate hills.
>>32773032yep also a bonus in regards to Lu bu leaving is that the enemy will be overconfident when the learn Lu bu has left & overconfidence leads to mistakes.
>>32773054Camp followers perhaps? It would be difficult.
>>32772973Here's what the terrain looks like. As stated before, the enemies are in higher positions at the top of hills, and in two separate forces but enough to reinforce each other. Your side is more flat. The enemy is a mix of infantry and cavalry. So far is making Lu Bu pretend to go for the capital and side attack, or hold defensive positions. Unless you think of another plan, pick one of those two. Oh, and 1d100 rolls.
>>32773073wait, I thought the plan was for both of those.

>>32773079Sure, you can hold the line and let Lu Bu split the force, or you both can hold the line.
>>32773079I assume the 'defensive positions' one is EVERYONE holding defensive, whereas Lu bu going back to the capital is you and your force defend, while he flanks.
Rolled 24>>32773073Do the lu bu flank

Rolled 92>>32773108It should take into account Lu Bu's war skill as well...
>>32773112In my mind, its just a matter of how long we can hold out before Lu Bu returns.
>>327731174:1 force disparity, but we're in a defensive position. It's possible.
>>32773124I'd like for our character to make a name as a glorious defender who won't cop out when there's heat all about.
>>32773138It's kinda funny because our character, xin zhao, has a spear instead of a sword and shield.
Now I'm all tense for this update since I suggested the plan. Did I just lead us to ruin?
>>32773167We will see.
WAIT A MINUTEDo we have crossbows?
>>32773166Did anyone use a shield in those days?
Rolled 82>>32773166A spear is a great defensive weapon. We keep our enemies back and fuck them up when they try to charge against us
>>32773178Pretty sure everyone used shields.
>>32773138I'd like for there to be a situation where we and Lu Bu are forced to dress as courtisans in order to infiltrate an enemy stronghold.

>Lu Bu flank attack>avg of 61You inform Lu Bu that you need to draw out the enemy. You tell him he should make a pretend-withdrawal to the capital with half the forces while you hold the line. He frowns once again and informs you he just wants a straight up battle. But you convince him to follow up with the plan saying there will be glory.Lu Bu leaves with half the force. A few hours pass, and the enemy is drawn out. They seem to be in much haste and eager to destroy you. They are moving towards your position. You look at their army. They are overwhelming in size... And you sort of realize that but cutting your army in half, you've made it about 4-1 disadvantage. And these aren't just average green troops.... They are the experience Xiliang troops that have been fighting the Qiang for years...Well, time to defend anyway. You organize your defenses and the line. The enemy charges at you like a wave, infantry at the center, their cavalry at the side. They crash in to your force and a large melee ensues. Your first lines manage to hold a bit, but after some time passes, they begin to falter. The enemy cavalry at the sides make their flanking attacks, and your lines break a bit. You do your best to lead the man and keep formation. While you manage to keep your army away from complete collapse, casualties are beginning to pile up. You yourself fight off the enemy with your blade and spear, killing numerous soldiers. One enemy manages to wound you with a spear thrust at the side (Minor injury). Your forces at the front and flank are beginning to dwindle... And you feel this might be the end.
Lu Bu's army arrives however, and they strike the enemy from the flank. It seems Guo Si and Li Jue were not expecting this. They do their best to hold the line, but their own formations crumble as your own forces push back. Lu Bu dives in and even manages to cut Guo Si's hand off before he flees and his men cover him.The enemy takes some heavy losses as they run back to their positions. While they have take substantial losses, your own forces have taken losses as well... You tally your men and find that you have 6000 men left. The enemy have 12,000 men left. You worry that the enemy reserves will come, but all is quiet so far as night passes. Lu Bu is proud of his achievements, and thinks the army should attack now since the enemy has been defeated and their morale low. Your army is quite battered however and exhausted, and the enemy reserves might come. What do you do?>Agree with Lu Bu, attack>Hold the line here and get your men rested up>Perhaps retreat now... Your forces might not survive another engagement, especially if enemy reserves come
>>32773205>And you feel this might be the end.Oh shit

>>32773209"Why not invite them to duel Lu Bu? You wish to fight the best of the best after all."
>>32773209>>Agree with Lu Bu, attackI think we should go with this. The enemy just lost 8000 troops. That has to hurt.
We're wounded. But they're demoralized and just as battered as us, if not more so.Night raid. I highly doubt enemy reserves would be marching at night.>Agree with Lu Bu, attack
Rolled 97>>32773209>Agree with Lu Bu, attackLet's press our advantage now before their reinforcements can come!
>>32773209>Hold the line here and get your men rested upThe status quo remains unchanged. We remain outnumbered 2 to 1. They hold high grounds. Our troops are exhausted, the enemy morale is low, but they may have reserves.
>>32773220This.Their morale will crumple and die if they refuse the duel, maybe we'll even see them turning to our side.
Rolled 56Don't chokeDon't chokeDon't choke
Rolled 50>>32773209>Agree with Lu Bu, attack! We've been stepping on his toes for too long, and the enemy is probably far more demoralized than us!
>>32773220This + >Hold the line here and get your men rested upMeans we get the enemy morale down AND we rest up
>>32773240>>32773220They're not going to fight Lu fucking Bu in one on one combat when they have the numbers advantage, WAY too much of a risk.If we hadn't been injured, and were able to buy the Bow+Blade for Duel Bonuses, we could of fought them for disrespecting us last time we met. But that's out of the question now.NIGHT RAID!
>>32773231But if their reinforcements come, then there morale will probably rise and we will have to deal with fresh soldiers with out own battered forces. I don't think we'll have much of a chance if that happens
>>32773209>>Agree with Lu Bu, attack
>>32773209Night Raid with the less tired troops, probably Lu Bu's elites.Have the rest rest up and maintain defensive lines.

Why not join him?
>>32773251If the reinforcements come, either way we're fucked. Might as well try our luck. Also, what army marches at night. To me, the soonest the reinforcements will arrive is tomorrow. Tonight we should push the advantage and at least try to inflict some damage, since they've got us outnumbered but are really low on morale, Especially Guo Si's forces since he lost a hand.Plus i doubt they will be expecting it. Fan Chou was the only one who was there when we did a night raid, the other three were busy picking their noses and doing shit all.
Rolled 63>>32773260also>Agree with Lu Bu, attack
>>32773273Well that line of thinking makes me support an all out attack, although a night raid might also be successful as well
>>32773292Challenging them will only further increases the morale damage though, why wouldn't we do it in the day?
>>32773298Why not both?Lu Bu, Elites and those who aren't too battered from todays fighting perform a night raid on one of the two camps, the weakest one preferably. Then when day comes, so long as there are no reinforcements on the horizon, we attack again, with our full forces..
>>32773310Night already passed, it's morning right now. So we'd have to give them an entire day to lick their wounds in order to pull that off.
>>32773313Fuck. Attack now then.
>>32773313Looks like a direct attack carries the day then.I just hope Zhu Xing makes it out of this alive. We'll need to be careful to avoid duels right now.
>>32773212>>32773225>>32773232We got good rolls. Let's hope the reinforcements don't show up.
I keep hoping this ends with a glorious charge by Fan Chou that breaks the back of the opposing armies. But we're probably going to have to save his army, since I think it likely he's fighting the third rebel general.
>>32773333He hasn't asked us to roll yet, they're not going to count.
>>32773335Or Fan Chou attacks us and we are routed.
>>32773333I have to come out right now and say that both of those 97's are mine.I'm real sorry you guys
>>32773337He asked us what we want to do. I hope they count, because two 97s is something we're not going to beat.>>32773344Shouldn't of said anything man. If he was going to count those three he certainly isnt' now.
>>32773353He always asks us to roll before we roll. It wasn't going to count anyway.
>>32773353I can't enjoy a dishonest winYes I know I'm a total faggot
>>32773370Shit man, we held our forces together in a 4:1 battle. We deserve a little love from the dice gods.
>>3277337542, 6, 20
>>32773382rape is not love, anon
>Agree with Lu Bu, attack!Somewhere, the gods are wondering what made you pull such a reckless move after having done well so far. Maybe Lu Bu is finally rubbing off on you in a bad away. Your men are tired and fatigued, and the numbers between your force and theirs have not changed much. And there was always that worry about enemy reserves... But what the hell. You and Lu Bu charge the enemy. They are surprised that you would attack so quickly, but make their defenses. Their hill positions and the rocky terrain makes it difficult for your men to travel...Your forces crash in to theirs. You and Lu Bu personally lead a group of soldiers and mow through a part of their ranks. Powerful as you both may be, it is not enough to change the tide of battle. The enemy, with their high positions and bigger numbers, push your men back. You and Lu Bu are forced back and take numerous casualties, and only the fact that Guo Si and Li Jue are barely competent allows your force to retreat.By the time light comes, your forces have dwindled to 2000 men. You and Lu Bu now feel it's best to retreat back to the capital, but...A soldier comes running to you from where Chang An was. He is battered, and collapses in front of you both."Chang An is under siege, and will fall soon!"
You and Lu Bu are flabbergasted. You both demand an explanation from him.“Generals Fan Chou and Zhang Ji had used a separate mountain path to reach Chang An with 10,000 of their own forces,” the soldier says crying. “Their attack and the forces here were all planned. They were to distract General Lu Bu's force, while the other generals were to lead a division to take Chang An. Apparently this was a stratagem all planned by the enemy strategist, Jia Xu. General Fan Chou was said to have attempted to come to our side, but the generals and ministers on our side refused to trust him and open the gates for his force. General Fan Chou thus attacked with Zhang Ji and Chang An is now under fire. I think that by the time we get to Chang An, it will be over by then.”Lu Bu is outraged. He begins screaming and throwing curses. You begin to panic, but manage to collect yourself.“General, all is lost! With our few remaining forces, we must abandon Chang An and head eastward! We can do nothing but regroup and plan our net course.”Lu Bu's anger turns to despair.“Diao Chan... I must get Diao Chan out first!”>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Your forces head to Chang An. As the soldier stated, it is all but lost and the enemy is already pouring in. You and your soldiers manage to sneak with your low numbers to another gate. You inform Lu Bu that there is no way you can hold the city, and only to get his family. He does so, and once Diao Chan and his other daughter is safe, you make plans to flee westward. However... Will you yourself run like a coward? Perhaps you should stay and defend the Han, no matter what...>Defend the place to the death>Flee with Lu Bu
>>32773415I have a feeling this will be the end of the episode.

Rolled 39>>32773422>>Flee with Lu BuFuck we had a good run
>>32773422>>32773228I was correct, yet I feel no vindication. Let's cut our losses. >Flee with Lu BuCan we also grab the Emperor?
>>32773442To be fair, everything he said before we left with Lu Bu told us to stay at Chang'An. If we stayed, maybe we could of convinced him.Still, Lu Bu would of got destroyed with even less soldiers.
>>32773422>Challenge Fan Chou to battle before we leave
>>32773442It seems like the only way to get Fan Chou was to stay in the city.Fan Chou tried to defect to us, but he couldn't because we weren't in the city.We couldn't locate him in the battlefield because Jia Xu's strategm.
>>32773454>General Fan Chou was said to have attempted to come to our side, but the generals and ministers on our side refused to trust him and open the gates for his force. ShitHey, fleeing with Lu Bu won't end the quest will it?
>>32773474How will it end the quest? We are still alive and so are our "heirs"
>>32773415Note to ourselves:Lu Bu sempai is great and all but he's probably not the greatest strategic thinker in the world.
>>32773474No but it will probably lead to the original path Lu Bu was on. I.e him dead.Losing Chang'An was a major fuck up though. I don't know where we can go now, i doubt we're going to get the emperor.FUCK. This totally doesn't make me feel like i wasted the last 7 hours at all.
>>32773422>all these faggots suggesting we leave the capital to burnWe should at least try to recruit Fan Chou. Remind him that those other two generals are little more than vipers, and will soon fall to fighting each other and assassinating him.
>>32773473>>32773458Do you think we could convince Fan Chou to attack the enemy in the city with Guerrilla Tactics if he's still alive? We may be able to make a win out of this after all.
>>32773479I was curious because of the wording it made it sound like Lu Bu was going to permanently bug off
>>32773415So we lose 4000 men and can't take out their 2000? Yeah..>>32773422Oh, OP, you're being a bit harsh today.
>>32773442It was stoppable. I'll explain at the evaluation. You have to understand that Fan Chou was stationed in Xiliang against the Qiang. That's many, many hundreds to thousands miles away. Trying to get Fan Chou in with the rebellion in your city made no sense, and I'll also explain more at evaluation.
God damn it
>>32773488>FUCK. This totally doesn't make me feel like i wasted the last 7 hours at all.This.I'm kind of miffed that we pretty much got thrown into a "You Lose, HAH" position just because we didn't follow OP's plot rails.Especially since I have this sinking feeling it will end with Lu Bu and everyone else blaming us and then we can get no shit never.
>>32773490There's a certain finality to >Defend the place to the deathFan Chou made his choice when his attempts to defect were rejected. He's unlikely to defect now.>>32773499>So we lose 4000 men and can't take out their 2000? Yeah..We attacked them outnumbered 2 to 1. We had 6000 men to their 12,000. They also had better defensive positions and our troops were tired as well. This is pretty much textbook example of Don't Attack.
>>32773422>Defend the HanWe bid Lu Bu farewell, if we survive, we hope to see him again. If not, then we will make sure he is welcomed in the afterlife when we do finally meet once more.If we stay to defend the Han, we have a chance of living. We also die honorably if we die defending the Han.We lose honor by fleeing.
>>32773506FLEE WE SHALL HAVE OUR REVENGE
>>32773499>Oh, OP, you're being a bit harsh today.Lets face it.If he wasn't harsh there wouldn't be much room for this quest to grow. We'd have the Emperor, we'd have Lu bu, and we'd have every right to rule, we'd have been pretty much impossible to beat.THAT BEING SAID, WHY DO WE HAVE SO FEW SOLDIERS?
>>32773503You might want to skip the "evalutation" this time. It'll just piss people off more to have you go "Haha you fucked up, retards."
>>32773510They weren't exactly fresh either and had just suffered a pretty massive defeat. This feels too much like op railroading for my taste, honestly.
>>32773495>>32773458Guys, lets try this.We can challenge him to battle, and initiate talks while we do so.About him defecting again. And if he defects, we can split the enemy forces and win.
