You are SX3, once and former assassin, now marked for death by the Empire which betrayed you!
>>
Surrounded by the dead, with the blood of the Star Wolves' alpha still fresh on your power-mallet, your journey of vengeance is nearly at its end, for only moments ago has your Benson android, once restored at the hands of your faithful travelers Ionicus of the M-Tron and Yoren of Futuron, and lately reawakened by the smiths of this distant clan-hold, delivered to you the coordinates from whence originated the signal ordering Adly to kill the criminal High Lord of New Jerusalem and lie in wait to slay you as well!

Thirst as you may for revenge against your mysterious and faceless former master, the news may yet be squandered, for these Star Wolves of whose loyalty you have so recently won are but the vanguard of an Imperial force that even now approaches the airless rock from which Ionicus's kin draw forth their precious magnetronium!

If Ionicus dies, none will carry word of his innocence, and the implacable Circuit-Men will continue to believe his was the hand which murdered their Prime Minister, a deed for which you alone may take credit!

Ahead of any conspiracy, however, is the ancient rite of death that must now be observed.

The wives of Clan Lord Graviticus strip aside the blood-soaked tunic and wash the body with loving reverence, murmuring ancient shanties of promise whilst the priestess Fusia watches wordlessly to ensure that all is carried out according to their ancient and unyielding ways.

"Fare thee well, Futuron, for you have given us treasure beyond price, and we thank you," one of the wives, Electria, says, as she softly places a kiss upon his brow.

Behind them, the wives of Clan Lord Photicles shuffle awkwardly, for while the Futuron saved them from the predation of the Star Wolves, all of the women know of Photicles's plot to betray the clan-hold to the Empire and abscond with the comely wives of his opposite, and his absence stands as stark testimony to the shame of affiliation upon which he has inflicted!

Clan Lord Graviticus, though hobbled by the constant pain of the accident you now know was orchestrated by the same, nevertheless ventures to sooth the wives of his fallen opposite. Only when they are suitably mollified does he beg off and approach you!

"We have done as you asked, and reconfigured the MDP to aim its fearsome drill starward. Such a thing may yet be tasked to beach a ship, but it is a ponderous device, and you will find its precipitancy cause to exact your aim," the Clan Lord warns, though his words reveal he expects you to pilot the great machine and use its awesome bit of mythy oranganium to succeed at this reach!

Graviticus draws a painful breath and begins to speak still, when another M-Tron bearing a signal-hailer approaches with haste!

"Clan Lord! Word from the flyers!"
>>
"Two ships draw close! We have silenced the beacons, but we fear they may know upon which rock we stand!"

No premonition guides his words, for though he is unwilling to give voice to his Clan Lord's treachery, the presence of these ships is just as Photices threatened - a platoon of Imperial soldiers intent on slaughtering the entire clan-hold, to ensure the deaths of Ionicus and yourself, and ignite war between the clans of the M-Tron and the merciless Circuit-Men!

No sooner does the voice from the signal-hailer ring out that Ionicus appears, girded for war in the armor of one of the fallen Wolves!

"We have done what we must for brave Yoren of Futuron," he says with trembling words. "And now I will see him off, for he was good and true and deserves his fate."

With those words does he heft aloft the corer, ancient implement of his people, and aim it squarely at Yoren's body!

"We have towed your ship nearest the entrance-bore," Graviticus tells you, and though your Needle is quick and armed, you fear it may not be powerful enough to breach the hull of an Imperial transport.

"What of our MDP?"

Indeed! The Mag-Drill Platform is a devastating tool that may strike a ship from the black sky - but realigning and powering the oranganium tip is cumbersome, and you may only find one true shot!

What now?

Alas, the Star Wolves arrived upon this barren rock in a stolen hoverlimo, barely big enough to contain the lot of them, towed here by the same Imperial ship and launched from afar to begin the destruction! Such a vessel is far too small to bear the titanic MDP!

What will you do, SX3? Take to your Needle and fly, or leap to the driver's seat of the MDP and engage in a surface-to-vacuum battle?

I read the last two or three threads from suptg. Apparently we decoded Adly's orders: was it ever revealed who told him to do it or just their location?

And thus did your magnetronium engines engage, and you did alight from the surface of this mote, bound for the world of Dorian beyond the Imperial picket! Traveling to this remote place may have strained your ship to the brink, overburdened as it was with passengers, but on this return trip you carry less, though were it laid bare against the magnetronium, you fear the weight inside your heart may be too much, for ever is the face of Yoren near your thoughts!

The side walls of the cottage are modular; there's the regular full-length wall, and a decoy wall that's just there to give the illusion of depth when the cottage is viewed from a forward angle. The edges are made to just snap onto the front of the cottage, so I can switch the full-length wall to either side (which I did during today's episode).

I usually Bricklink individual parts rather than trying to get a CMF in the bag. I like buying CMFs blind, but the Simpsons figs just don't grab me at all.

How is the frontal slant attached to the bulk of the roof?

>What kind of angle did you use to hide that big thing anyway?
It was a pain in the butt. I realized after last night that the frame is too narrow, because there's a very small window that doesn't show either side. However, for ease of use, it's pretty great. I figured if TLM doesn't care about visible strings, neither should I.

>How is the frontal slant attached to the bulk of the roof?

It's just a few of these SNOT slopes. Two in the center to hold it to the front wall, and one on the side to anchor it down to keep the roof from bowing up and creating a gap between the bottom of the roof and the top of the wall.

I posted this in /toy/, might as well post it here too.

After this thread dies, if you want to talk about Lego Quest or anything else, I'm usually lurking in /toy/'s Lego General thread.

I think it goes well with you as-practical-as-it-gets effects principle.

It's no worse than the time you could see my hand holding up a spaceship.

A great ending to a great quest! Thanks for running it!
>>
I'm a bit dense, so I'm not sure if I fully understood the ending. It turned out our master was, not only the Imperial Resource Commissioner, but our mother aswell the whole time? Like, was she our biological mother or had she just come to care for us as a mother during our training? Was that dickhead Adly literally our brother?

And what about our father? Just a term she was using for the Emperor who ordered our training, or are we literal royalty?
>>
This is the first time I've been around for a LegoQuest saga from start to finish and it was great. Before now I've only been around to see the occasional Endman adventure or After the Block thread.

What would have happened if we chose to look at the mutant when first asked? Would he have brought up our memories and revealed our past early?
>>
>>32818049
From what I understand she wasn't SX3's mother. The emperor is her father though.

Thank you for that.

Yes, in a confusing 2001-style gif.

You are correct on all counts, and the Emperor is her dad. This whole quest started with a random idea I had for an Imperial assassin; the family drama and M-Tron subplot just sort of showed up during the course of the game. The original plan was that SX3 would just be sent on more and more elaborate and dangerous assassination missions, but I threw all that out the window after the first job.

The idea of the BBEG came about around the time that the M-Tron/Circuit-Man subplot solidified, as a "wouldn't it be cool if the Imperial plotter, the assassin-master, and SX3's origin story were all wrapped up in each other?" thing.

So we're going to take the throne after Apprentice Quest part two?
>>

Hmm.. I wonder what long-term effects this uest may have?

>social prejudice by the Circuit Men towards the M-Tron
>the beginning of rumors about the corruption in the Empire, giving them a worse and worse image over the years
>M-Tron clans all over have begun to gain an even deeper respect towards all Futuron thanks to the brave efforts of Yoren
>continued spread of word of the Empire's misdeeds until every move is construed as corrupt
>the Blacktron start to mark up the price for their black stealth suits that seem to be all the rage in new assassin services and a prison at the edge of the galaxy
>Spaceman rallies the people of Regis Major successfully due to social outlook on the Emperor and his administration

Dunno. The Emperor's never been seen directly in any game, and all we know is that High Lord Spruesworth is the Emperor's nephew, and that Lord Randolph Spruesworth claims to be the Emperor's cousin.

>>32823265
If nothing else, it's shown us that Olga used to have terrible fashion sense.

The Circuit-Men don't really have any prejudice to the M-Tron; it was more of "hey guys, the Empire is saying that one of your guys killed our Prime Minister while inside the Empire, what's up with that?" situation.

I actually had an idea for a whole subplot where SX3 would go to the Circuit-Men homeworld to stand trial for her deeds, but it never materialized, so I used all the Circuit-Men I BL'd for that news graphic >>32812390 (I only had two before Assassin Quest). I even made some variant Circuit-Men and their ultimate leader just in case.

>>32823984
If anything, that would make you Bryston's cousin.

>Is that the new camera you're using? How is it treating you?
I didn't mean to ignore this post last night, but I was really tired from only getting four hours' sleep due to running Lego Quest until 5 AM the night before.

The new camera is great! It has none of the problems of my old camera, and combined with the new light setup >>32795652
I think the pictures look better than ever. I even figured out how to take distant macro shots so crowd scenes aren't "one clear face in a sea of blur".

Plus, the replacement camera came with its own battery, so now whenever I see that red flashing icon I can just swap it out with the one in the charger instead of ending the game early.
>>
>>32824312
Don't worry about it, you need your rest.

It looks like that upgrade did you well, and it's good to know that you don't have to cut early because of the camera anymore.
>>
I love the LegoQuest setting. It's built almost entirely on all these old sci-fi Lego lines but all the little bits of original lore and the characters make it really charming.

The Empire is mostly made up of what you call 'the Races of Man.' Do the Circuit Men count as one of those? I can't tell if they're cyborgs or just intelligent robots.

There's been a little bit of background mentioned about them:

We would have seen a lot more of Circuit-Man culture if that whole THE TRIAL OF SX3 subplot would have materialized. I had a lot of ideas for them.
>>
>>32825077
Well hopefully we'll see some of that if you ever choose to do a sequel SX3 quest, or just another quest in the LegoQuest sci-fi setting.

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to more Apprentice Quest.

>>32825124
We will definitely see more of the Circuit-Men. They are one of my favorite among the races of Man.

Posting this here because /tg/ accepts pdfs, and because it's neat information about the Lego Space line, and some cool concepts that were scrapped or heavily modified before the public ever saw them. My personal favorite canceled faction was Seatron.

Have you tried putting together an M-Tron walker with the metal detector legs? I think they would have made for some cool in-game vehicles and maybe a segue into introducing those concepts.

That's one of my favorite prototypes.

That and the green treaded crawler thing.
