Welcome to Academy City. The time is evening, the weather is electric, and the date is August 21.

You are Kyril Torikov, ‘Level 2’ Telekinetic Child Error and you have just watched your friend take more volts than you’d like. Touma, your friend, had originally come to you to seek more information regarding the Sparky’s complicated ‘family’ issues. He had bore witness to the progress of the Level 6 Shift project, namely the corpse of the 10031st clone of Sparky. Assuredly, it wasn’t pretty. Normal people would just walk away and try to put it behind them, wishing it was a nightmare and going about their daily lives. Not Touma. You had a pretty good idea of what he was going to do with the information you had given him. Still the both of you went after Sparky first. Neither of you wanted her to do anything drastic. It was just as well but you really didn’t expect Touma to just let her blast him like that.

Sparky didn’t kill him but she did knock him out for a bit. At this rate he was going to run late for his date with the Accelerator. He was also going to be a little under 100% fighting form. Still, what’s done is done. He had talked her down. His words had shaken her, if her reaction was anything to go by. You didn’t have the time to babysit Sparky even when you had promised to help her but it didn’t take a genius to figure out she was at a loss on what to do. At a loss now, and at a loss then, seeing as she thought she could shut down Level 6 Shift on her own. It was probably because she was the third ranked Level 5. She was naïve. Now, you had to,
>Escort Sparky back to her dorms now

There was no time to waste though. The more time you spent not moving closer to the location of the current Level 6 Shift experiment, the likelier it was that you’d soon have 10032 dead clones on your hands. Touma wasn’t heavy. Rather, he was lighter than you expected and while his right hand interfered with your Ability, it wasn’t hard to just carry him. Even Sparky lent a hand. Maybe she was feeling guilty about zapping him.

“He’s asked some valid questions Sparky,” you remarked.

She kept silent as the two of you hauled your unconscious mutual friend towards the railway switchyard in School District 17.

“I didn’t really think about it,” she trailed off, “I just.”

“It’s alright, I never really thought about it myself. Not until recently anyway,” you reassured, “But we’ve got a plan.”

You looked to Touma.

“Well, he’s got a plan,” you corrected yourself.

It was then that Touma chose to regain consciousness. The two of you stopped and let him gather himself before continuing on your way.

“Ugh,” he grabbed his head before looking around, “What’d I miss?”

“Well you almost missed your date,” you replied.

The closer you got the better you could hear the sounds of crackling in the air as you approached the stack of containers. You couldn’t see the battle just yet but the flashes of lightning and the weird smell in the air was enough.

“So what exactly was your plan?” you asked your friend.

“I go in, save the little sister and stop the experiment,” he answered confidently.

“You’re crazy,” the Railgun exclaimed, “Kyril, he has no chance of winning, even with that right hand of his.”

The two of you shared a look before turning back to Sparky.

“We won’t know until I try,” Touma shrugged.

As for yourself you were going to,

>Make sure the girls were safe
>See what you can pinch from the Accelerator
>Back Touma up

>>
“Just worry about the fight,” you told him, “I’ll make sure the girls stay safe.”

“Hey! I don’t need your protection,” Sparky protested.

You paid her no mind.

“Alright champ, it’s show time,” you clapped Touma on the back.

Turning the corner and you were greeted with the sight of the battlefield. There was some damage but it wasn’t the location that you were paying attention to. Lying at the feet of what you guessed was a young man albino in a black shirt was Misaka 10032. She had been beaten soundly. It was no surprise. The clone was a Level 3, around your level. How could she have matched a Level 5 like the Accelerator anyway? What kind of experience could the first ranked Level 5 gain from this pointless encounter anyway? Seeing as they were pitting him against 20000 of them there had to be a point to it all, or so you hoped.

“Hey you.”

It wasn’t as eloquent as earlier you thought but Touma got their attention anyway.

“Oi,” the Accelerator seemed pissed, “What do we do in this case huh?”

He was asking the clone about the interruption. Though it was said that the clones were supposedly stoic unlike Last Order, they still emoted. She was shocked. Seeing her silent the Accelerator turned towards you proper. His grin was confident. Rather, it was more a smirk, one that found something amusing. He had right to be. After all, he was ranked at the top of over 2 million students in the city. Still you were pretty sure the unluckiest git in the whole of the city had something to say about that.

“Whatever, looks like I get to deal with them right?” his gaze shifted to Sparky, “Back for another go?”

“I’m your opponent,” Touma stepped forward.

“Come on, I can take you all three at once,” he spread his arms wide.

[1/2]
>>
>>32803389
“I said I was your opponent,” Touma repeated.

His dash speed was rather fast enough that you would have been impressed if you hadn’t seen faster. The Accelerator just stomped his foot on the ground. Tremors shook the ground violently, making it hard for you to remain standing. You weren’t moving so it must have thrown off Touma.

“As if I’d let you, dumbass,” Accelerator spoke, “Come on who’s next?”

Touma got up again but you didn’t spare him much of a glance at that point. Closing in on the Sister with Sparky you,

That was more when he started to spam Plasma.
>>
>>32803670
>>32803840
Well, we kind of have telekinesis, so if he pops plasma we can just throw it somewhere. It's not like it has a reflection field around it.
>>
>>32803914
Going to need more force. That and he can always set the force behind it higher then our Telekinesis. Though the first time yeah it should fuck with it.
>>
>>32803962
We can just fling objects at it then. Again, no reflection field, and if something like a strong wind can disrupt the plasma, a couple of hurled objects is a definite counter to that.
>>
>>32803914
We could also just move the ground underneath him. That would be very distracting.

You had dedicated yourself to making sure the girls stayed safe. Anywhere even remotely close to the Accelerator and by extension, his fight with Touma, wasn’t safe. Quickly but carefully picking 10032 up you made for the road that sat on elevated ground overlooking the switchyard. Your choice was vindicated when an explosion tore through the area and sent an empty cargo container careening through the location 10032 had been previously. The gouging of the gravel surface confirmed that it was way too heavy for your Telekinesis to handle. Good for you.

“Who are you says Misaka as she attempts to determine your identity.”

You don’t get to answer Sparky starts fussing over her clone almost immediately. You also provided some pain killers and disinfecting bandages. It doesn’t stop the clone from eying you emotionlessly.

“Kyril Torikov,” you finally answered.

The clone finally turned to the original.

“Onee-sama, what is going on says Misaka as she asks Onee-sama about the situation.”

Sparky looked towards where even know you could hear two lads going at it. Touma hadn’t had the time to tell her yet.

“He’s fighting for you,” you answered in her stead, “For your sister, and for you.”

“Misaka does not understand. Misaka is a clone that could be created,” she was interrupted.

“At the push of a button for 180,000 yen, yeah, yeah. But you know what? That doesn’t matter. You’re still my clone,” Sparky paused for breath, “My sister.”

As touch as her admittance was the ground rang as steel crashed in to steel. Touma was still fighting, most likely for his life at this point. Like a second sun, a pale white glow coalesced above the switchyard.

“T-that’s plasma?” Sparky was shocked, “He can control the air to that extent?”

Looks like Touma was in for it now.

>What do?

>>32804612
>RUUUUUUNNNNN BITCH RUUUN
>>
>>32804612
What disrupts plasma? besides the sisters turbine trick?

what is accel standing on? can we fuck with his footing?
>>
>>32804612
Shouldn't Sparky be able to mess with his control since plasma can be altered with EM fields? Zap the fuck out of the metal containers in the area to give them a negative charge which can mess with the plasma ball.
>>
>>32804612
Do things in that order, see if anything works
>throw things at plasma
>throw plasma
>shake some ground near Accelerator
>spin something for wind
>ask Sisters for assistance
>if nothing works, grab fucking everyone and transform run
>>
>>32804699
His reflection would just stop footing effects. My first thought would be to send force straight though the plasma over and over so it doesn't have a good amount of space to compact.

>>
>>32804612
Just fucking ask Sparky if she has any bright ideas.
>>
>>32804964
She should be able to manipulate the ions in the air/plasma with EM, maybe not with any degree of precision but enough to disrupt Accelerators calculations for generating the plasma. Thats all the turbines did really anyway.
>>
>>32805263
I somehow doubt that either Sparky or us are gonna suddenly go genius in a middle of a life-or-plasma moment.
>>
>>32805340
She had the sense to have her clones start up the turbines to run interferance.
>>
>>32805340
This is Academy City. I'm sure they teach the four states of matter in school. It isn't that far-fetched to reach the conclusion that EM interference can screw with plasma.
>>
>>32805428
One thing is realizing that strong wind is gonna disrupt the plasma and the other is electromagnetic fields when all she uses is lightning bolts.
>>
>>32805340
We have also read an applied physics textbook, so that could have given us some insight into how to manipulate states of matter.

Your first reaction was to run. If this was giving Sparky pause then you probably had no business being anywhere nearby when the damn thing hit. You were trusting Touma here, you rationalised. Of course you weren’t alone however as Sparky and her clone were also here. You weren’t sure how far you could get carrying the two of them. Then again, you weren’t alone. It was better to ask opinions before seeking shelter and ensuring you were safely tucked away from the destruction that was sure to follow.

“Any bright ideas Sparky?” you asked.

Your tone was nonchalant but it didn’t seem to register with her. Instead she gazed fixedly at the growing ball of plasma, as she called it. You had a passing understanding of it and since it was ionized gas, all Sparky needed to disrupt it was the feed her power in to it and try to destabilise it that way.

“W-w-we have to stop that,” she answered.

“Yeah how?” you tried again.

“We shouldn’t interfere directly,” Sparky was thinking, “If we did it’d invalidate the fight. An electromaster of sufficient level and skill should be able to.”

Both your eyes turned her clone. You swore you saw 10032 gulp.

“Misaka should be able to says Misaka without much confidence.”

“Couldn’t you use the network then?” she tilted her head in confusion, “Borrow some power?”

“That is not how the Misaka network works says Misaka as she tries to correct your misunderstanding.”

As you argued the ball grew bigger and bigger.

“So how exactly are you planning to do this?” you asked, “You’re going to chuck something at it, explode prematurely?”

“That could work, probably,” Sparky shrugged.

Now was not the time to be shrugging.

Inventory more or less I think:

A cell phone
A wallet with keys and ID
Two jars of painkillers. Mostly full.
A M1911 pistol, 7/14 rounds
Three .45 ACP mags, one is empty
Brass knuckles
Teacher's business card
A lighter
First Aid Kit
Stab-proof undershirt
A (tiny) Share in Kongou Aviation
Two discount coupons for plane tickets
Biker jacket
Aviator sunglasses
Handgun shoulder holster
>>
>>32805991
One .45 ACP magazine, one lighter, and one rock.
Toss them one after the other.
>>
>>32805991
A magazine I guess. I feel like this is a bad plan. Sparky thought this was retarded in canon since Accel can just make another ball.

>Plasma was created from the atoms separating into cations and electrons, so she may have been able to return the plasma to the original atoms by putting the electrons back together with the cations.

>But how would that help?

>Even if she did manage to return the plasma to its original state, Accelerator would just gather the wind again to recreate the plasma. To seal Accelerator’s attack, electricity did not cut it. One needed the ability to control wind like he could. But Mikoto could not control wind with her electricity techniques. Mikoto gritted her teeth at the uselessness of her power in that situation.

You know guys, we never actually made a plan for countering accelerator on anything really. I figured that we would just let Toman do his thing and zappy zap do her thing. We didn't even power level or anything, and accel is final boss tier.
>>
What if we try moving the wind? We might have the power, we just haven't tried yet. If we push the wind around just a bit it should be able to destabilize it. Accels plan fell apart just from the turbines moving backwards and ruining his eyeball estimation. If we actively counter his power we should be able to buy time.
>>
>>32806195
If we survive we should make it a goal to avoid these kinds of things in the future.

Nah, the Sisters had to do specific calcs to disrupt it. That's why Accel went after 10032 at the very end. If he killed her, the other Sisters wouldn't be able to adjust their calculations.

There wasn’t enough time to talk things through so you acted. You grabbed the first thing that was even remotely explosive in your pocket and chucked it at the ball of plasma with your Ability. It was a magazine full of .45 ACP.

“What?” Sparky looked surprised, “What did you just throw?”

You weren’t going to admit to her that you possessed live handgun ammunition on your person so you shrugged. While it was well within her reaction time to pull it back to you she just looked on, banking on you tossing something useful, or at least trivial in to the mix. You didn’t know how hot the ball of plasma was but by your guess it should more or less ignite the propellant immediately, sending a rain of sharp, red hot flecks of metal everywhere and disturbing the ball. From the distance you were at, it sounded like fireworks going off.

The ball didn’t dissipate completely but it was enough as you heard a battle cry emerge from the stacks of containers. Touma was up and at it again but the giant glowing ball of death came down fast. You didn’t know who was faster as it touched down out of your line of sight. Then there was silence for several minutes as the normal sounds of the night reasserted itself. Figuring it was over you made your way down to where the fight was fought proper. Heat greeted you. There was no wind in the air to wash away the heat of having a condensed ball of plasma dropped in to the makeshift ring cargo containers.

We killed Touma, GG guys.

>>32807008
You found Touma lying atop the first ranked Level 5. Both of them were breathing but unconscious. His fist had definitely knocked out The Accelerator but his back was bare. It was also sporting burns. As for the Accelerator, his breathing was laboured and his jaw seemed dislocated. Blood had exited from both his nose and mouth, signalling perhaps a lost tooth and a broken nose. Sparky and her twin joined you soon enough. You weren’t sure if her expression was scandalous or horrified.

The burns looked pretty bad and you supposed that was your fault. Still Touma had won and that’s what counted. You supposed you could hoist the winner up and make sure he doesn’t die from said burns. The Accelerator was going to be fine. It wasn’t like the experiment wasn’t monitored or anything. Hoisting your unconscious friend over your shoulder in a fireman’s carry, you set off with both Misakas towards Heaven Canceller’s hospital.

It seemed like the doc never slept, that or he lived in his own hospital. The latter seemed more likely. Touma was carefully handed over whilst some of the night shift nurses looked over both Misakas. You had come out unscathed, surprisingly enough. The original was suffering from fatigue, sleep deprivation and general stress. Meanwhile the clone had her own share of problems unrelated to tonight’s events but it looked like they’d be taken care of just fine.

Touma need some skin grafts but thankfully it wouldn’t look too bad. You had cracked a joke in Sparky’s presence about him having a hot arse. That earned you another punch in the arm. More importantly, it seems that Level 6 Shift had been put on hold until a proper recalculation through the Tree Diagram was made. That earned a cryptic smile from Sparky but if she was happy about it then you guess you could share the sentiment.

It was late at night by the time you got home and you honestly just wanted a shower and to go to bed but you couldn’t sleep until you read at least one hour before bed nowadays. It had become a habit.

The time is now late morning, the weather is pleasant, and the date is now August 22.

While most people would call the past day or two crazy, you simply called it busy. It was almost as if a day didn’t go by without something big happening. Still you were alive and well, save for the burn along your right arm and the lack of noticeable eyebrows. Maybe you should get some ointment for that. Grumbling along with your stomach, you made yourself a nice breakfast before you contemplated what to do today.

Now that Level 6 Shift had been put on hold, it was probably alright to bring Last Order out of her medically induced sleep. You wanted to be there when the little girl woke up, if only to provide a familiar face. Speaking of medicine, Touma was probably out of surgery and resting up until his injuries were healed. It might be worth it to pop by and say hello, maybe apologise for him getting hurt. Other than that, the only other person connected to Level 6 Shift was Nunotaba. You hadn’t talked to her at all since she left the hospital yesterday and you had no idea what she was up to. As for people unconcerned with your recent adventure was your employee, a certain Toshino Kyouko. You heard she was being targeted by various magic cabals. It certainly would not do to have them steal her from right under your thumb where she currently belonged.

Plans for the morning?

It was a pretty awesome scene.

>A blank filled Kamijou’s mind just before a white face filled his vision.

>The roar of four tornados whipping up the air from Accelerator’s back reached Kamijou’s ears after a short delay.

>“God!!”

>That deadly hand of reflection reached for his side in order to reverse his body’s blood flow and electrical signals.

>“Dammit!!”

>He twisted his body while just barely managing to swipe away that demonic hand with his own right hand.

>He went on to launch his fist upwards and right into Accelerator’s jaw.

>A dull sensation passed through his fist and into his wrist.

>“…”

>Red eyeballs stared back at him without the slightest change in expression. A chill ran down Kamijou’s spine, so he leaped backwards without thinking.

>A mass of air slammed into and split apart the ground where he had been.

While you did say you may have had a job for Toshino, it wasn’t like she was bugging you about it and neither was Kaoru. Thus you let sleeping dogs lie. Right now, you headed out to the Heaven Canceller’s hospital. It was on the way that you called up Nunotaba to see if she had gotten the news yet.

“おめでと,” she greeted, “I suppose that my current employment is now redundant.”

“Sorry?”

“気にするな, I was looking for more,” she paused, “wholesome work. Perhaps I might even have a job for you soon.”

“Then I guess I’ll see you then.”

“I doubt it, さよなら,” and she hung up.

Still it was nice to know that she was doing okay. The prospect of future work was nice too you supposed. You visited Last Order first, though maybe you should have as she pretty much tackled you as soon as you opened the door.

“Kyril, Kyril, thank you, thank you, says Misaka says Misaka as she expresses her profound gratitude.”

Her tackle was more a hug seeing as she was only about elementary school aged. She was attempting to reach up to your face and you were almost twice as tall as she was. Acquiescing, you hoisted her up as she reached for your face and kissed you once. It was on the cheek. Then she settled in to your arms and curled up like she was never letting you go. You’re not sure how to feel about that so you went to see how Touma was doing to keep yourself occupied.

Of course you had entered just as he was complaining about something or another to Sparky and would have gotten some electroshock therapy for his trouble if it weren’t for Last Order.

[1/2]
>>
>>32809972
“Onee-sama, onee-sama, says Misaka says Misaka as she greets her esteemed elder.”

God she was hyperactive you thought as Last Order leapt from your arms and in to Sparky’s. She was utterly confused and dumbfounded by it but at least she managed to catch her smaller clone without much trouble. Touma for his part only smiled as if say, ‘totally worth it’, and you agreed.

“So, how are you doing?” you asked.

Sparky was too busy trying to pry her younger self from herself.

“Burns weren’t too bad,” Touma replied, “Feeling a bit tender when I’m on my back but that’s really it. You should have seen the other guy.”

“I’m just glad it’s all over. I have enough problems as it is.”

“I know exactly how that feels,” he glanced over at the Misakas, “So she’s moving in with you now?”

You hadn’t really thought about that.

It was laughable to think that you’d ever let Last Order be separated from you.

“Of course,” you answered, “She’s moving in with me.”

Sparky almost dropped her when she heard your bold proclamation. Thankfully Last Order was prepared to jump out of Sparky’s arms and in to yours again. This time you were ready, picking her up and swinging her around before settling her in one arm. She was surprisingly light and Telekinesis did have its uses.

“W-w-w-wa-wa-what?” Sparky sputtered.

“Wai, wai, now Misaka has a big brother, says Misaka says Misaka as she celebrates.”

Asuka wasn’t always right.

It was rainy. You didn’t like the rain. It affected your magic and that wasn’t good. It wasn’t the only weapon in your arsenal for sure but it was often the last things your pursuers expected. Well no, that was a lie. The last thing they expected was the Stechkin APB you kept in your purse. It was often so easy to take magicians by surprise with it. You always opened up with your magic first. Then when they were too busy trying to counteract your spell you gave them a few extraneous 9mm Makarov holes in the head to think about.

You are the Witch of Karelia, and you were currently in Thailand. More specifically you were in the Trat province close to the Cambodian border. This was your last stop before you could board a transport bound for Hong Kong. You had spent more than a few days already and you were getting sick of the humidity and the monsoon season in general. Thankfully you weren’t alone and that didn’t mean you had to suffer alone. To be fair, your escort didn’t grumble one bit. She was a platinum blond with short hair but her skin was dark, tanned from years in the local clime. Unlike you however, she dressed in a red vest with OD cargo pants, and openly carried her firearm, a yellow Beretta Px4, on her person. It was recognisable and you’d have to be stupid to cross her if you didn’t realise who she was.

The two of you were having breakfast in one of the street stalls. With the crowd and umbrellas opened up in case, you were reasonably safe from magical and mundane assassins. Of course, a shot rang out, but that wasn’t cause for concern, not in this town anyway.

There was a saying about Rome that you adhered to. If the locals didn’t make a fuss, why should you? Your morning breakfast of Chinese doughnuts with sweetened condensed milk and coffee was more than enough to get you going. Ever vigilant, your escort raised her head once to scan about the marketplace before returning to her congee. It was a normal street shooting and it wasn’t like you cared who got shot around here so long as it was neither you nor your escort. Unfortunately, breakfast was going to be cut short anyway. It seemed that you had been followed, and all morning at that. It was a sniper, having camped out all morning amongst the roof tops waiting patiently for his shot. Thus you had to tear yourself away, even when the greasy and fattening begged you not to leave. It may just be the last time you ever ate them.

Still, your escort was a professional and she led you by the arm, looking nonchalantly as the both of you headed towards the docks. Your transport was an old PT Boat crewed by a band of less than legal traders. You had paid good money and they were some of the best in the region, of that you had no doubt. It was your old comrade in arms and mentor, who had recommended their services to you. You had both met in the army, though at the time she was a hardened veteran of Afghanistan and you a fresh face straight out of basic. In time she had taught you all you knew, even if you were simply part of her artillery detachment when Georgia rolled around. Now she was old and plied a trade quite far removed from legality whereas you had gotten married and started a family. You were brought out of your reverie as a group of English tourists approached from the opposite side of the street, barring your way. They weren’t simple tourists.

They were very obviously magicians, if their hoods and robes were anything to go by. There were three of them differentiated by their hair colour. One was red, one was blonde and one was brown. So they were sending witches to fight witches? How fitting as you took a long and sharp hairpin from your purse with your right arm and stabbed in your left near the wrist before gouging your way to your elbow. Your blood flowed as you remembered the memory that triggered their use.

You were reminded of how your unit had perished. It made no sense to ask an artillery group to capture a town but there was nothing you could do about it. Orders were orders and so your commander had flattened most of it before sending the rest of you in on foot. It wasn’t wise. The townsfolk had hidden in cellars, basements and other such shelters. So when your small detachment had stepped foot in the town they rose up like vengeful ghosts, charging and screaming. It was your first contact and you froze up, your body surrendering as your brain overheated and your heart hammered in your chest. That is where you met him, you husband.

From it you fashioned a blade. It wasn’t as sharp nor as solid as you wished it was due to the humidity. At least the blade wouldn’t dry out if you didn’t keep the blood circulating. You circulated it anyway. It was like a powered saw that you used to cut trees with. The three English witches held no surprise in their gaze so taught them who their betters were. They had used elements which were a good match against you but individually they seemed to shy away from your bloody blade. You swung madly, wildy and without a car. There were no innocents here and you wanted to this quickly before they figured out your weakness. It was a laughably easy task against children. No, it was the horror behind them that gave you trouble. It was,

You knew of him. He had many names, ranging from monstrous to descriptive. You think your favourite was “Teacher’s Pet”. That was not his real name however. His real name was Fujimoto Shiro and he carried with him a Middle Eastern sabre. It too had a name you knew well. Anubis, God of Death, and it was his magical implement. Not one had gone against that blade and lived. It fed on blood, the very same you used your magic to create a blade with. No, this was simply a bad match for you. You could not be defeated here so you had to withdraw. If anything it was the wisest choice knowing that he did not work alone. He had a partner, her name was Kudou Junko.
