My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. Though I'd like to think that my upbringing was pretty normal, my parents got a really good job offer last year that would force them to move to the opposite end of the country... and that was the end of my "normal childhood." And after reading that weird book that my best friend Mina had sent to my house, I myself can't even be called "normal" anymore.

Me and Mina were on our way to get something to eat, and we cut through the park because that's the fastest route... and midway there, we were attked by some nutjob with the Branch of "Ornamental Tangram."

Apparently I lost my mind for a bit and messed up his arm pretty good, and then Irene showed up. I thought she was nice, but it turns out that she's working with that freak.

Me and Irene hightailed it out of there, and right now we're having lunch with Charlotte. I think she's staking me or something.

"So Charlotte..." I say as I unwrap my first burger, "...are you able to watch over the entire city at once, or were you paying special attention to that area?"
"Yeah, Cecile said that you were watching us," Mina says, staring at her.
"Ah, well..." Charlotte laughs nervously, "...I was kind of concerned that someone else with a Branch might show up around you, so I asked Loki to watch over you for me."
"So you're stalking her," Mina glares at her. "And who exactly is 'Loki?'"

I'm pretty concerned about that too, but I wish Mina wouldn't antagonize her like that...

"I wouldn't call it stalking," Charlotte sighs, "it's just that I was worried about her safety. I've heard rumblings about other organizations becoming active in this city, and wouldn't you say that today's incident in the park proved me right to be worried?"
"I won't deny that you have a point there," Mina replies, "but it's still suspicious. And kind of creepy."

"I won't deny that it's kind of creepy that she had me followed without telling me first," I say to Mina, "but Charlotte's still done nothing but help me so far."
"I didn't mean to offend you..." Charlotte says, hiding the lower half of her face behind her sandwich.
"Whatever," Mina sighs, "I guess it's no harm no foul -this time-. But I still want to know who this Loki person is."
"Loki's her crow," I say.
"What."

Mina closes her eyes and lets out a looooong sigh.

"You have a crow. And then you named this crow Loki," mina says.
"Umm... if it's any consolation, I'm not the one who named him," Charlotte replies, forcing a smile like she's really embarrassed right now.

As fun as it is to watch Charlotte get all flustered like this, now really isn't the time to be goofing off.

"Cmon, Mina..." I sigh, "we can make her blush some more later," I say, sighing. "This whole thing is starting to get really dangerous, and need more information so I can keep myself and the people I care about safe."
"I suppose so," Charlotte nods. "I would have liked to keep you out of the more unpleasant side of this for as long as I could, but I don't think that's possible anymore."

After finishing off the rest of her sandwich (is it just me, or does she have fangs?) and washing it down with her drink, Charlotte turns back to me.

"Ask away," Charlotte says. "I'll answer whatever questions I can."
"Ornamental Tangram," Mina says. "Do you know anything about that? It's what that asshole said his power's called."
"Yeah," I nod. "I want to know what I'm dealing with in case I get attacked again."
"Ah yes, that Branch," Charlotte sighs. "I'm actually personally familiar with that one."

What, so she's fought that Archibald guy before?

"People with that branch can create triangles," Charlotte says as she traces a triangle shape in the air. "they're solid, float freely in the air and can be as sharp as the holder wants."
"Yeah, I noticed that," I reply.
"The less imaginative types only use it to make easily-disposible murder implements, or say, a storm of what might as well be broken glass around them... but it's also possible to use them like building blocks to create objects."
"What, like those hands that he made?" I ask.
"Exactly," she nods.

"Fortunately, both the number of triangles that can be created at once and the range that they can be used in is limited," Charlotte says.
"That would explain why he wasn't able to impale me after I threw that rock at him," Mina says. "Fucking psycho."
"...you wouldn't happen to have a psycho partner, would you?" I ask.

I'd really like to avoid a repeat of what just happened.

"No," Charlotte shakes her head. "I'm pretty sure I told you this yesterday, but I don't have any backup."
"...isn't that kind of dangerous for you?" Mina asks.
"Well, I have a very large Synapse range and my Branch itself makes it so that I don't need very much outside assistance most of the time," she replies.
"Oh. The crows."

"So you're able to see through birds or something?" I ask. "Or animals in general?"
"I can," Charlotte replies, "but it's limited to specific individuals. I find it to be a lot easier to ask animals to do things for me than it is to control them directly, you see... food's a pretty good motivator most of the time."
"So like you're doing with Cecile, then," Mina says. "Fatten her up with free food and she's putty in your hands."
"Wha- eh!?" Charlotte stammers. "I- I was doing no such thing, I just wanted to thank her for helping me out the other day and then I learned that she had a Branch and-"

So I've been thinking, and burning the books is a really really dumb idea. We know an unknown number of books were sent to cities. It's past the point where this can be contained by burning two books, which means we need to switch over to damage control and make sure good people have them.

Also important because if people do eventually find out where the books originated from, those people have it on record that one of those books was sent to our house. (And one to Theresa's as well.)

If we make a point of staying absolutely stubborn about not revealing our involvement, one group or another is still going to find out eventually, and odds are good we're not going to get as sympathetic of a liaison the second time around.

Just my 2 cents, and feel free to call me a dumbass, but I think we should open up to Charlotte. About the books. The excuse of 'Didn't say anything because I was scared' should solve any and all misgivings. Some stipulations in exchange for handing over the book:
1. Protection. We need safety from any backlash that might come should a rival org. Jump us.
2. Freedom. We reserve the right to walk out from said protection at any time, if either of us feels the word 'Protection' is being used too loosely.
3. Mari gets to read the book. She would have been better off not reading at all, not being known at all. But now, she's busted Archibald's nose, they know her face, and if we run off they might aim for her instead. Now, she needs to just get her own abilities, if only to get the most out of her situation.
5. We say nothing about Therese. Maybe we call her when we're not being watched and encourage her to join up, but we won't be the ones to rat her out.

The situation is too sticky for a newly-bloomed independant. We need a big momma shadow.

Irene could easily provide that too. And, for like the tenth time, the books are not ours to give away. Mina and Theresa decide what to do with them, for better or worse.

You can't put innate powers into Debt or Tax them, But you CAN take out naked insurance claims on them.

"Maybe some other time, I guess," I say, shrugging.
"Maybe," Charlotte nods. "Aside from that, did you have any other questions?"
"That Archibald guy," Mina says, "Cecile lost her shit and completely wrecked him, but, umm... she didn't seem like herself when she did it."
"Oh yeah," I mumble. "And then he said something about me 'already losing myself...'"

And then Charlotte's face goes pale.

"You... you haven't been hearing voices, have you?" Charlotte asks.

"So this IS a big deal?" Mina asks. "I don't want Cecile to end up going crazy or anything..."

"I'd like to explain the specifics of what he was referring to, I really would," she sighs, "but giving you that information will increase the likelihood of it actually happening. In this case, it's best that you stay in the dark."
"That doesn't even make sense," I say. "Why would it be too dangerous for me to know?"

I really don't like the idea of her keeping something like this a secret from me.

"Ugh..." Charlotte takes a deep breath. "Think of it like... let's say that I asked you to watch my things for me while I went to the bathroom. What would you do in that situation?"
"...watch your stuff for you until you came back?" I reply.
"That's the natural reaction, yes," she nods. "But if I was to tell you that there's something in this bag," she points to her now-empty bag of food, "and that you should never EVER look inside, and THEN I asked you to watch my things for me while I went to the bathroom, what would you do?"
"Be tempted to look inside the bag," Mina says.
"Exactly," Charlotte replies. "Chances are that you wouldn't have even gotten the idea to do so if I hadn't specifically asked you NOT to do it."

So knowing about whatever the heck she's talking about will make it more likely to happen, and it's horrible enough for her to go pale when I mentioned it. Great.

"Umm, Charlotte?" I say as I gather up the leftover packaging from all the food I just ate.
"Yes?" Charlotte replies.
"This boss of yours... Gauthier, right? What exactly does he want with all of this?"
"I was wondering the same thing," Mina says.
"I see that you've told your friend all about me," Charlotte laughs nervously.
"Of course she did," she replies. "We're best friends and best friends don't keep secrets from each other."

Ouch, that seemed kind of personal. I get what she's trying to say though, and I do kind of agree... wait a minute.

"Theresa," I say, turning to Mina.

I can understand why nobody wants to tell us anything. All indications point toward us being a walking security breach.

"Anyways, back to your boss," I say, turning to Charlotte.
"Umm, yes," Charlotte sighs. "Mr. Gauthier sent me here to collect the book, as I told you last night. "He also asked me to identify anyone who read the book and learn what Branches they ended up with, as well as determine if their mental state is such that they're safe to leave alone."
"And why exactly is Gauthier even doing this stuff?" Mina asks. "Is he trying to build s superpowered army or something?"

Good question.

"No," Charlotte shakes her head. "He's just interested in cataloguing the different types of Branches that are out there, as well as limiting the chances of them causing public chaos. Like say, an arsonist ending up with a Branch that allowed them to start fires with their mind, or a sexual deviant obtaining the power to control others... or the reverse, someone gaining a Branch that suddenly opens them to the possibility of doing awful things that they wouldn't have thought of otherwise. That's what he's trying to avoid."

>[2/?]
>>
>>32913596

I feel like if we are going to give the books up, we should probably burn them. Only people who wanted them for their ability to create powers would be upset.

"She does have a point there," I join in.
"Er, well..." Charlotte scratches her head, "...he's also interested in doing research as to how exactly the books were created. From what I've heard, they're all handwritten manuscripts, and the Seed-implanting effect only happens when they're read in that book form..."
"Suspicious. Really suspicious," Mina crosses her arms. "I bet he just wants to scout people with powers that would be useful to him. And use the book to give them to people who are already loyal to him."
"I won't pretend that scouting for potential isn't another of the reasons why he sent me, but please don't twist it around like that," Charlotte sighs. "Everyone under his employ is paid -quite- well, and he's not the type to use coercion tactics."

Umm, I don't -think- she's lying... I mean, it's not like she tried to kidnap me the second she found out that I have a Branch or anything.

"Something like that," she nods. "There's a certain group of... let's just call them unpleasant people. They think of themselves as police, and bully anyone they find who has a Branch into falling in with them. They have the complete list of all the Branches out there, as well as the full capabilities of most of them."

I'm sure she THINKS she's doing the right thing, but not only does that description explain perfectly why she would team up with that dickwad, it also sets her up to do just about anything "for the greater good." Of course it's bias. I mean, we don't even know she's part of that organization. For all we know, they're part of the Qliphoth instead. There were already trust issues when we left last time after all. It does give a reason that we can accept for her and psycho boy to be together that doesn't make her look like a complete tool though. ... Just a potential tool.

"Wide-scale fighting draws prying eyes, and nobody wants that.. not to mention that skilled people are hard to come by."
"Well at least two of those factions are here in this city right now," Mina says as she gets up from the table. "And one of them just tried to kill us so pardon me if I'm not the most hopeful about our situation."

"Yeah, alright," I say.
"Thanks for understanding, I won't be too long," Charlotte says as she swipes the door's keycard and hurries inside.

Well here I am, just kind of waiting in the hallway of a strange hotel.

By myself.

Waiting to get the okay...

...to go into the room of a girl I met two days ago.

Yeah, now I'm seeing where Mina would think that it's kind of questionable.

As I lean against the wall beside the door, I pull out my phone. Might as well check on Theresa, hopefully she didn't get into any altercations with Triangle Man like I did.

Dunno how long I'll be out here, so I guess I'll text her instead of calling.

"Cecile?" Charlotte calls out. "It wasn't as bad as I was expecting so you can come on in... huh? Where are you?"
"Right here," I say, waving at her from my position flat against the wall.
"Oh!" she flinches a bit. "I wasn't expecting you to... a- anyways, come on inside."
"Alright."

I follow her inside the room, and...

"Oh my god this place is huge!" I gasp.

Seriously, this place is like one of those huge apartments that you see people have in TV shows!

"Eheh..." Charlotte smiles, "...it is pretty nice, isn't it? Rooms like this almost make up for how frequently I get carted around the country."
"I'd say," I nod.

This place is SO NICE. There's a huge TV, and a really nice couch... I think that's an actual kitchen over there, and is that- DUDE THOSE ARE SOME HUGE BALCONY WINDOWS!!!

"This place looks amazing," I say. "And it's not dirty at all, why were you so worried about me finding a mess?"
"Er..." Charlotte starts fidgeting. "...stay calm, okay?"
"Calm about what?"
"I have one of my friends staying in here since it's not exactly feasible for her to be out in the open, and..."

A bedroom swings open, and I hear heavy footsteps... and then my entire body goes cold.

"Oh my god is that a lioness," I say, staring at the MASSIVE CARNIVORE THAT IS STANDING NOT FIVE FEET AWAY FROM ME.
"She's a puma, actually," Charlotte says as she places a hand on my shoulder. "Cecile, this is my friend Milla."

I bet the dog that encountered us in the park was one of Charlotte's.

So all sides do have their psychoes.
>>
"H... hi, kitty..." I say, reaching out to her so she can sniff my hand.

Please please PLEASE only sniff my hand and not decide to eat it instead.

"There you go..." Charlotte says, smiling as the huge monster cat walks up to my hand, sniffs it a couple of times, and then walks under it so my hand's resting on top of her head. I guess that means that she wants to be petted?

Nervously, I pet the huge kitty...

...and then she starts purring...

Oh my god this is both terrifying and adorable. And Charlotte seems to be really enjoying herself watching me do my best not to pee myself.

"She likes you!" Charlotte laughs.
"I am very happy that she doesn't dislike me," I reply in a monotone. "Do you have any other 'friends' that I should know about?"
"There -is- one other, but I have him flying night patrol right now."
"...I see."

After a while, Milla gets bored of me petting her and walks over to the balcony. With the giant cat finally out of my personal bubble, I stumble over to the couch and collapse on it.

"...so you were worried that your cat friend over there made a mess while you were out?" I ask.
"Yes," Charlotte sighs. "Yesterday, she completely shredded one of my dresses to use as something soft to sleep on. And when I scolded her for it, she said that she wanted something that smelled like me... I was worried that she'd done the same thing today."
"Sounds like she really likes you. That's good, I guess."
"Milla's a total Mama's girl," she says with a beaming smile.

"So, uh..." I glance over at Milla, "...how do you keep her from like, pooping all over the place? Or eating people?"

Because I REALLY don't want to get eaten while I'm up here with her.

"One of the nicer points of my Branch," Charlotte laughs. "I can give them orders and they'll follow them to the letter. Milla doesn't attack anything unless I tell her to."
"Unless it's one of your dresses?"
"...unless it's one of my dresses," she sighs. "But yes, raising exotic animals is a breeze when you can actually communicate with them."
"I can imagine."
"So don't worry, you're completely safe while you're up here. Milla won't do a thing to you."

That's a relief.

While I take some time to cool off from the TERROR OF DEATH that I just experienced and get used to the fact that the giant hellbeast on the other side of the room -isn't- going to kill me (I hope), Charlotte goes about feeding her pet "kitty" a massive steak.

Holy crap, even her animal friends eat well.

...I think I'm going to not watch her eat, though.

"And that's taken care of," Charlotte says. "So... what now? Did you have anything in mind?"
"...how about a tour of the grounds?" I ask. "If I'm not prying, I mean."

She starts with the living room that we're already in, and then shows off the kitchen area. There's a super fancy sink, a massive refrigerator, a microwave... it's honestly better than the one we have back home. Next up is -two- bathrooms, the front entrance that we just came in, a rear entrance for when the VIPs don't want to have to mingle with the riffraff...

Charlotte just kind of rushes through things when showing off the single bedroom that this place has. with its massive king-size canopy bed. And over in the corner is a pile of rags, I'm assuming that's the remains of the dress that Milla destroyed.

I dunno why she's in such a hurry, though.

Last up is the whole point of a balcony suite- the BALCONY. It extends for the entire length of the eastern wall, and the view is amazing.

"Aand that's that!" Charlotte says, stretching her arms out to the night sky. "My not-so-humble home until I'm done with my work here."
"Thanks for the tour," I say.
"Eh, it's nice to do things like this for an actual human once in a while, you know?" she laughs.

I should probably get around to asking her about this Branch business before it gets too late, it's already super dark outside.

"So umm, about the reason I came over here..." I say.
"Ah, that's right!" Charlotte laughs nervously. "It had almost slipped my mind... how about we head back to the living room to talk?"
"Sounds good to me," I reply.

It's getting kind of cold out here, anyways.

And so, the two of us make a beeline for the living room. I plop down onto the couch, while Charlotte takes a seat on an adjacent chair.

"I have a bunch of questions about Branches, actually," I say. "First off, where do they come from? I mean, I know there's the books and Gardeners and randomly waking up with powers like I did, but it still seems kind of weird."
"That's understandable," Charlotte nods. "As for where they come from, nobody really knows. It's been said that they've been around since the dawn of civilization... a lot of stories about gods and ancient heroes fit the description perfectly."
"...wow, that long?"
"As time progressed, people like us were regarded as being possessed by demons, or as witches... as such, it's been necessary to keep things under wraps."

Yeah, I sure as hell don't want to get burned at the stake or anything like that.

"As for the actual base of the Seeds and all that, there are tons of conflicting theories," Charlotte says. "Some people think that Branches are the result of the human mind accessing another dimension... others think that it's a perversion of the fruit that Adam and Eve ate... there are even people who think that aliens did it."
"...well that's about as likely as anything else," I shrug.

"Yours just sprouted so it'll take a while for all your abilities to manifest." Charlotte says. "And from there, you'll potentially be able to strengthen those abilities with use."
"Awesome," I say.
"...well, I guess it does depend on the ability. Some of them are flat bonuses or drawbacks and others are automatic, like being able to breathe underwater. You can't exactly get -better- at that, you either can or you can't."

"How widespread are these powers?" I ask.
"Well..." Charlotte begins, "...there's a very small percentage of people who are just naturally born with Seeds. And an even smaller percentage of -them- actually has them Awaken, most remain dormant forever. And then there are the unnatural types like people who read the Book of the Gardener or were attacked by a Gardener outright..."
"And what category do you fall in?"
"Oh, I just woke up one day and could talk to animals," she shrugs. "I was only eight years old at the time, and it was downright awful... my parents thought that I was possessed by the Devil and tried to have me exorcized more times than I can count, and then they threw me out entirely once it became clear that that wasn't going to work..."

Oh. Oh wow.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to-" I stammer.
"No, it's fine," Charlotte shakes her head. "it does me good to remember where I came from from time to time. If it wasn't for Mr. Gauthier, I'd still be living on the streets and relying on squirrels to steal food for me to live off of."

"Ummmmmm..." I mumble, "are there any Branches that are just bad?"
"Bad?" Charlotte turns her head to the side like she's confused.
"Like there's no good side to having them."
"Oh. There aren't any that are objectively a drawback but there are a few that I'd find to be terrible to have..."
"Like what?"
"There's a Branch that lets its holder know exactly when the natural lifespan of everything around them will end. I can't imagine having to go around like that..."

Yeah, that does sound kind of awful.

"What else..." I mumble. "...oh yeah!" I snap my fingers. "You said that there's a catalogue of Branches, right?"
"Yes," Charlotte nods.
"Would you happen to know what Dragon's Tooth does?"

Irene told me what she can do but after today I'm wary that she wasn't telling me -all- of what she can do.

"Oh, that one?" Charlotte says. "I called about that shortly after you mentioned it to me yesterday... and information on that Branch is 'incomplete.' The information that -you- gave me was actually added to the directory, that's how little we had on it to begin with."

"Crap."

Irene's group doesn't seem very hot on the uptake in general. Ornamental Tangram should be the strongest branch we currently know of, but Archibald is too uncreative to do more than the bare basics. He could create triangles under his feet to walk on air, use them to manipulate objects for all-purpose telekinesis, give himself an exoskeleton, create shields that probably could have blocked Cecile's laser... but nah, flying triangle knives and clumsy hands is all he does.
>>
...screw it.

Charlotte's invited me into her (temporary) home and spilled the details of her tragic past that I'm not going to think about lest I start crying again and she's treated me to TWO meals.

I think I can trust her with this.

"My Branch is called 'Over Shine,'" I say. "You know anything about it?"
"...Over Shine?" Charlotte gasps. "That would explain how you were able to-"
"Uh, is there some kind of horrible drawback to it?"

With that reaction, I'm getting kind of worried.

"No, it's not like that," Charlotte replies, "It's just... you've been blessed with a VERY strong Branch, Cecile. The Elemental type is really uncommon, and yours in particular is capable of doing all kinds of things."
"Whoa, really?" I ask.
"Yes," she nods. "Flash bombs, creating illusions, night vision, lasers... there are several other Branches that can do those individual things, but yours can do pretty much anything that has to do with light."
"So you're saying that I hit the superpower lottery."
"That's one way of looking at it!" she laughs.

"Cecile, are you okay in there?" Charlotte calls out from inside her bedroom.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I reply.

A few minutes later, Charlotte scurries out of the bedroom in a frilly white sleeveless dress... and she's carrying a matching one in her arms.

Charlotte's hugging me really tight and I'm starting to feel kind of lightheaded... the next thing I know, I'm sitting on the couch while Charlotte's next to me painting her nails.

What.

"Umm..." I mumble as I look around.
"Oh, sorry" Charlotte sighs. "I hugged you a bit -too- hard and you kind of fainted."

And then she tilts her head to one side while smiling and sticking her tongue out NO I AM NOT GOING TO FORGIVE THIS TRANSGRESSION CHARLOTTE

"Huh?" I look at Charlotte's nails. They're... black? I don't mean that they're painted black, the nail itself is that color.
"What's wrong?" Charlotte glances over at me.
"Your nails..."
"Oh, these?" she says, showing me the two nails on her left hand that are still unpainted. "I need to keep them painted because of the color..."
"Are the infected or something?"
"Oh no," she shakes her head. "They're this color because of... reasons."

That's not suspicious at all.

"...I see," I sigh.
"One of the drawbacks of picking utility over looks, I guess... but they look just fine when I paint them so its not really a big deal."
"I guess," I say, shrugging. "So, uh... I guess I'll sleep here on the couch once you get done doing that?"

Well, for one thing, she has no idea that psycho boy is out there looking for people with Branches to add to his head hunting collection. That might be kind of important. Not to mention other organizations that might pop up looking for stuff. She also completely lacks even out rudimentary ability to take care of herself, or people that she knows that can help her if she gets in over her head.

In short, she has no clue how dangerous things are for her right now, unless we tell her. Personally, I'd like to see her again before psycho boy does.

>we both share the bed (platonically, of course)
This is a thing that friends do, I'm sure of it
>>
>>32918681
I used to do it all the time, even with girls.

It isn't sexual if you don't make it sexual.
>>
>>32918690
Anon's gonna make it sexual.
>>
>>32918690
>Not wanting it to be sexual,
>>
>>32918705
I don't want it to be sexual when they've known each other for 1, 2, 3 days.
>>
"Eh, we can share it," I say.
"...huh?" Charlotte stares at me.
"The bed, I mean. I wouldn't feel right kicking you out of your own bed, but chances are that I'll never get the chance to sleep in such a huge bed again."

I know it's kind of selfish, but I honestly don't care. Charlotte's making me wear this embarrassing nightgown so I'm gonna sleep in her bed. Then we'll be even.

"There's more than enough room, so why not share it?" I say, shrugging. "That way, we both win."
"I... I see..." Charlotte mumbles as her face starts to turn the same shade of red as her nail polish. "Umm... I've never actually, but... I mean, it sounds like it could be nice..."

C'mon, don't make this weird.

"J- just let me finish painting my nails and I'll be right there!" Charlotte stammers. "You go on ahead of me, okay!?"
"Sure," I say as I stand up and make my way to the bedroom.

I'm gonna sleep on a huge bed, oh yeah! At a hotel that doesn't charge by the hour, even! Take that, Allison!

>[1/?]
>>
>>32918713
B-but we can still post innuendo right?
>>
>>32918714
>At a hotel that doesn't charge by the hour, even! Take that, Allison!
Are those a thing in America? That is where this is set, right?

Where is this set
>>
>>32918714
>Makes it weird
I knew I could rely on you, Charlotte!
>>
>go to bed
>wake up
>arch is stil running
>>
>>32918727
Not that I know of. Sounds like a lovers hostel sort of thing
>>
It would actually be ideal if Theresa could go with Irene's group. Then we could share information and stuff.
>>
>>32918753
But what if they brainwash her to turn against us, and we end up fighting with her? There's no way that ends well.
>>
>>32918753
Up until the point where they try to turn her against us.
>>
>>32918727
They're uncommon, but they do exist in America.
>>
>>32918765
I don't think that would happen. Their goals are, like, the exact same except for what to do with the books.
>>
>>32918783
Charlotte said they're a police force. Charlotte's faction is cataloging the factions and researching the books. Their goals aren't the same at all.

Also, where are we page-wise? We're nearing twice bump limit.
>>
>>32918837
Page 9. Should be good for another hour at least, and I doubt Arch will run that long.
>>
>>32918842
We're on page 9
>>

>>32918855
Wow, I'm sincerely impressed with how long this thread has lasted.
Kudos to arch. Most quest OPs just quit around the bump limit. This is pretty cool.

Walk into the bedroom...

...wow this thing is huge. I didn't really get a chance to appreciate the size when Charlotte was giving her tour because it was in and out in a second, but... yeah. Huge.

After pulling the covers back, I hop in the bed and roll over to one side of the bed so Charlotte can get in after me. And now I wait.

And wait.

And wait.

"Charlotte?" i call out.
"Y- yes, I'll be right there!" Charlotte shouts back, sounding kind of nervous. "I just need to let my nails finish drying and then I have to turn off all the lights, I'll be there in just a few minutes!"
"Alright!"

>[2/?]
>>
>>32918892
...huh. Wonder what's keeping her.
>>
>>32918900
Her massive hardon

Savor the softness while waiting! Mmmmm, delicious bed.
>>
>>32918909
/d/ please go.
>>
>>32918892
If she takes too long, go out and check on her.
It's not like she's hiding some giant secret, right?
>>
>>32918892
>[3/3]

If she doesn't hurry up, I'm just gonna go ahead and fall asleep by myself. Then it'll be up to her to move me if I'm in her wa-

...oh yeah, she's really strong. Maybe I should stay up for her after all.

One by one, all the lights in the suite go off... though I can see out there just fine.

This night vision stuff is really going to take some getting used to.

"S... sorry to make you wait like that!" Charlotte says as she hurries into the bedroom and turns off the light as she goes.
"It's fine," I reply. "You all done with whatever you were doing?"
"Yes," she nods. "And now we can finally sleep!"

I move over a little bit more as Charlotte climbs into the bed and makes herself comfortable.

"Ehehe..." Charlotte giggles as she rolls over to face me. "Your eyes are glowing just like Milla's do in the dark, Cecile."
"So are yours," I reply. "I guess we're night vision buddies, huh."
"I guess so!"

Oh yeah, my glasses. Better take those off.

"Goodnight, Charlotte," I say as I put them on the nightstand.
"Goodnight, Cecile," Charlotte replies.

This bed is so soft...

And warm...

oh what a nice fur blanket...

Dawwww

What are the chances that they end up cuddling together iin their sleep?
>>
>>32918941
Sssssssuspicious.
If it didn't sound lewd I'd vote to inspect her boy while she sleeps. But I guess I'll satisfy myself with looking out for more suspicious stuff.
>>
>>32918979
*body
That was a great spelling mistake though.

Is it over?
Thanks for running!

We cuddle her in our sleep.
>>
That's it for me, guys.
I didn't get to do the stuff that I intended to do because of this little excursion, but it turned out to be fun as hell in the end.
And this is the longest thread that this quest has has thus far, so yay.

I've run a thread every night this week, so I'll be skipping Saturday night. Dunno when I'll be back, but the next thing I run will be Princess Guard.

If you have any questions before I pass out from lack of sleep speak now plz
>>
>>32919031
Did she turn off the lights so we couldn't see her as she entered? Or did we get a clear look at her?

Those preparations were too suspicious.
>>
>>32919031
Thanks for running. T'was a great thread, Arch.
>>
>>32919031
Thanks for the thread!

>>32919031
I have a new favorite (active) quest thread, thanks!

(I still miss Yachett though...)

Also, did we see what Charlotte looked like when she went to bed?
>>
>>32919050
>Did she turn off the lights so we couldn't see her as she entered? Or did we get a clear look at her?
She turned off the lights because that's what normal people do before they go to sleep. Cecile can see in the dark, so she got a clear look at her.
Mostly, Charlotte's just nervous as hell from this entire thing.

>>32919082
>I have a new favorite (active) quest thread, thanks!
Thanks, man.

>Also, did we see what Charlotte looked like when she went to bed?
Yeah, she was wearing the same nightgown as before. The only difference in her appearance is that her nails are freshly painted.

And now I fall asleep.
Thanks for playing!

Ah, alright. I guess I read too much into her dilly-dallying...is what you want me to think! I'm onto you, arch! Don't think you can throw me off that easily!
>>
>>32919120
>The only difference in her appearance is that her nails are freshly painted.
Even so, her answer to why her nails are black was incredibly evasive. She could have just said "It's part of my Branch" and left it at that, but she didn't.
I'm still suspicious, Arch, but I'll leave it to Monday.
>>
>>32918837
>Charlotte said they're a police force. Charlotte's faction is cataloging the factions and researching the books. Their goals aren't the same at all.
They both want to restrict power spread and prevent power violence and whatnot. They're basically aligned in the same direction, assuming there isn't some bizarre code of magic laws on the police side.

I don't think they're going to be kicking in Charlotte's door and demanding justice, is all I'm saying.
>>
>>32911001
>After finishing off the rest of her sandwich (is it just me, or does she have fangs?)
Just caught this. Haha, what? Two fang girls? What is with all these fangs?

>puma have fangs
Charlotte confirmed for taking on aspects of animals she bonds with.
>>
>>32919958
Does that mean she goes into heat?
