Seven men are careening towards you atop what you can best describe as flying hunks of metal. You shoot Lucky a dirty look as bullets ricochet off the metal floor around you, but he simply shrugs. “Hey, don't go looking at me. I don't have a comm.” He motions emphatically towards his ear to emphasize this, though you're unsure what significance his ear carries. At least he's not running away, that would just make this way more of a hassle than it needs to be.

You hear a loud ping and Darzi grunts. A glance in her direction shows her holding a hand over her chest. When she pulls it away there's blood. You feel a flash of concern run through you, mainly because this is the first time you've ever actually seen something penetrate that armor you've given her. You have to shout above the growing roar of the approaching vehicles just to ask her a question. “Are you alright?” She nods, waving you off. “The armor's already closed the wound, I can heal myself later. What are we going to do about these idiots?” You return your attention to the approaching riders, scratching your chin absentmindedly as an errant bullet plants itself in an unsuspecting pedestrian. “I've got an idea, do not worry in the slightest!”

Your reserves are mostly full, your companions are in good health, all of you enemies are approaching from the same direction, and the street you're on is rather narrow. You're truly spoiled for choice in regards to how you want to deal with these thugs. However, you ought to decide quickly. Though right now they're merely taking potshots at you they're rapidly closing the distance, those potshots are getting more and more accurate.

>Wait until they're a little closer, then erect a wall of ice between you and them, spiked on their side.
>Lob a fireball into their midst, their clothes look flammable and the force of the explosion ought to knock them off course.
>Chrys, Skull Kid, Darzi, and You all have some form of firearm, you can handle this without magic.

I tossed that out in one of the post thread discussions, I think. Grandmaster Fire Vatis can generate electricity, my logic being at its root fire magic is just controlling heat, and heat is simply the motion of atoms. Thus a sufficiently skilled Fire Vatis ought to be able to generate electricity by manipulating the motion of atoms to some degree.

You start gathering vys for a spell, collecting the moisture in the air so that you can quickly condense and freeze it into a wall between you and the approaching riders. Unfortunately one of them wrenches back a handle on his vehicle and it shoots ahead of the others, forcing you to channel more vys into the spell to speed the process up, lest he get past the wall. Once you've collected enough water it's a simple task to form the wall. For all intents and purposes, it would seem to appear out of nowhere in front of them, spikes slowly sliding out of the surface.

There is an incredibly loud crash is the first rider hits the wall. The ice cracks, but the wall holds. In rapid succession two more slam into the wall, weakening it further. You try to shore up the cracks but it's not enough. The fourth rider blast a hole in it with that ridiculously long pistol of his and the impact of his vehicle against the wall is enough to send him careening through. The vehicle is of course ruined, it immediately slams into the ground and skids several feet before coming to a stop. The rider, though alive, seems to be unconscious.

One rider, a little bit brighter than the rest you'd reckon, goes soaring straight up into the air to avoid the wall. He very nearly hits the ceiling, but manages to get his vehicle under control in time to avoid that fate. He comes to a stop high above you, staring down at the scene below before turning around and fleeing. The last two riders zip through the hole in the wall created by their now unconscious compatriot. One of them wields a shotgun, and the other that strange black club-like weapon, the tip of which now glows and sparks, hissing ominously.

>Combat Initiated!
>Enemies Remaining: 2x Hoverbikers

The shotgun-wielding thug jerks what you think is the steering mechanism of his vehicle to the side and jerks some kind of lever back, it slides to a gentle halt, its side turned towards you. He braces his weapon on top of his forearm and takes aim at your party, firing three shots in rapid succession. The club-wielding rider has careened off to the side, but is starting to round his way back towards your party. You think he might be going for Chrys, but you're not certain.

Why would Lucky say that the midget tipped them off?

You have three possibilities

1. Lucky and Midget conspired to tip them off, in which case Lucky ain't saying shit.

2. Midget contacted the hoverbikers on her own. Lucky isn't ratting out his girlfriend to be tortured by us.

3. Lucky and Midget didn't do anything.

>use ice magic to create ice arms coming off our armor
>each ones holding a gun
>>
You hurl a spear of ice in the direction of the club-wielding thug. Unfortunately in your haste you cast the spell too soon and it's nowhere near on course. You cast a manipulate spell, packing some power into it, in order to nudge the spear just slightly, just enough to correct its flight. The sight of the long, narrow rod of ice planting itself firmly in the thug's eye is satisfying, as is the spectacle of him jerking back on the steering mechanism of his vehicle and going soaring into the sky. He ends up smashing his head into the ceiling and falling off his bike, landing several streets over you think.

When you glance back to see what the shotgun-wielding rider is doing you're greeted by the sight of a tall metal wall standing right in front of you, the center dented rather severely. Peeking past it you see the only remaining rider taking cover behind his vehicle, thin needles protruding from the metal. Darzi is, of course, fine. There is a bit of metal melded onto her armor, and she seems to be in a bit of pain judging by the way she clutches her side, but nothing too severe you don't think. She's struggling to aim her shotgun with one arm. Fulvia is doing decidedly worse. There is a fist-sized hole in her chest and she seems to be knocked off her feet. She's struggling to stand, but not making much progress, and her limbs seem to be spasming at random. Skull Kid escaped harm by standing behind you and the wall in front of you. By some miracle, Profectus remains unharmed despite being out in the open, firing your pistol at the thug with the shotgun.

(1/2)
>>
>You have the Initiative!
>Enemies Remaining: 1x Hoverbiker

The last thug sticks his shotgun over the top of his vehicle and fires blind in the general direction of Chrys. The shot goes wide, instead putting a hole in a near-by building's wall. You hear the screams of the people from the bazaar behind you as they flee the streets, and you think you see a couple of people standing on the corner with chits in their hands, doing only the Gods know what. The thug seems hesitant to leave cover, which means you've got the advantage for the moment.

Of course, I know that we don't have any knowledge but between SK and Fulvia we might have a chance to to something.

We really need to get a notebook or two with extensive library of all easy availible knowledge from this world.
>>
You leave the last thug to your companions, instead jogging over to Fulvia and crouching down to see what's happened. The hole in her chest seems to go clear through to the other side, and it's large enough that you can fit the entirety of your hand in easily. Peering inside, you note that her body cavity is hollow. At the shoulders and where you think her legs would connect with her hips there are pneumatic pumps, probably the mechanisms which allow her movement. The only thing in her torso is a thick bundle of wires running down the center of her back with branches leading off in various directions. You assume this is what allows her to control the pumps that move her limbs. A large portion of the cords seem to have been severed, probably the reason she's having so much trouble moving.

You hear a meaty thud from behind you, and glance over your shoulder to see Darzi wailing away at the last thug with the butt of her shotgun. You somehow doubt he's long for this world. Turning your attention once more to Fulvia you reach into the hole in her chest and manually reconnect the wires, using just a touch of metal magic to reconnect them. Unfortunately every time you do they spark and snap apart once more. You end up needing to channel far more vys than you'd think would be necessary to ensure the bond is strong. You actually feel a little drained by the time you've finished and sealed the hole, but at least Fulvia is able to move normally again.

You stand up and survey the battlefield. The shotgun-wielding rider's head has been reduced to a fine pulp on the metal floor. The rider with the oversized pistol who initially broke through your ice wall is unconscious and mangled, but alive. There are three bandits dead, one of which is impaled on a spike protruding from the wall you created. One of the riders fled, and another went careening off into the distance before falling off his bike. Rather efficiently handled, if you do say so yourself. Hopefully that one bandit isn't bringing help.

why exactly?

I don't really understand. We were fighting some criminal gang members and acting in our own defence. We can always lie about what happened in the bar and what set it of by saying that we got into a heated argument and Lucky attacked us. I mean, he is a drugged up junkie gang-member, so there is a good chance that the authorities will be already heavily biased against him.

There were 3 terrible decisions.

(1) Fire, which was bad, but it probably wouldn't have pissed off our party that bad since we were just being stupid and not malicious.

(2) Going after hostages was just a terrible decision all around.

>Darzi responds irritably. “So what?! Let them get away! Why do you even care? What did they do to you?” You scowl. “They disrespected me, they tried to rob all of us, and then they ambushed us!”

(3) Choosing to unleash Ricky instead of dodging the blade. After we knew that we would succeed on both outcomes.

fuck that and fuck this town. I have no desire to kill 50 more people just so we can get a bit more loot we'll never use. We already bought everything we thought was interesting in the shops, and we've got the loot from these bikers to make up the rest. I have absolutely no interest in a random murderhobo spree just for the lulz.
>>
>>32961779
Yeah, those weren't our reasons.
>>
>>32961727

None of our party members want to stay here. We are leaving and we can buy our shit at the City.

Just loot the library at the City and leave this boat already.

>>32961795

>and nearly got everyone killed

Chrysa doesn't care about the morality of taking hostages. She cares that we did a fucking awful job at it and nearly got everyone killed in the process.

Chrysa values competence and not getting murdered, how is that so difficult to understand?
>>

>>32961872

Because we've been doing so well at staying out of trouble so far.. It's just a matter of time at this point before the cops start coming after us too, and then our body count gets to skyrocket. Fuck that shit.
>>
>>32961805
I agree. But shit went down people were passionate.
The fire wasn't a horrible choice. It's just a severe failure. Intimidating lucky could have been alright.
If we didn't and just pay lucky would have likely just paralyzed us and rape our bodies.
Fucker had something under his a leaves if he thinks he can take out a party full of people.

So while fire wasn't the best choice it wasn't bad.
He'll we could have chose bargain. And with a severe failure wouldn't have been surprised if he got pissed and raised a gun to our head for trying to low ball him.
>>
>>32961898
Thank you, the way he was talking about it, made it sound like she cared about the morality of the situation.
>>
>>32961882
>They're escaping

See that's where there's a problem with the wording. I thought that referred to the gang, which I wanted to stop from getting reinforcements not Lucky and the midget. I couldn't care less about those two and wouldn't have voted to go after them.
>>
>>32961916
Soma said unless we got a great success people would have freaked out anyway.
>>
>>32961924
Then that would have wasted alot of time for us. And also earned us an enemy.
I'd rather earn an enemy and gain something from it.
>>
>>32961924

The post heavily implied that it was referring to Lucky and midget.

>The gunfire quiets for a moment and you hear a voice shout out over the din. “Haul ass, boys!” This is followed by a strangely mechanical roar, and then a second and a third. You hear Lucky's voice calling out. “Hey, what the fuck are you doing?! Wait for us!” Though his voice is getting quieter. He must be running away.

And then the choice.

The "they" is likely to refer to the last party that was referred in the paragraph, i.e. Lucky and Midget.

Alternatively, "they" is likely to refer to the slower party since you can't really catch up to the faster party without getting to the slower party first if they are both headed the same direct.

And the slower party would be Lucky and Midget.
>>
>>32961956
>People would've still panicked, but not as badly
My guess is that not as badly would have meant no shot gun to the back, maybe guns aimed at us, but not a full on fight.
Also for those who missed it.
If you'd had a natural regular success, the table would've caught on fire but it wouldn't of spread. People would've still panicked, but not as badly. If you'd taken a severe or regular failure, the fire would've begun spreading out of control and eventually the bar would go boom if you didn't get out of there quickly enough, once the flames started to heat the tanks of synth to an untenable point. If you'd had a great success, the table wouldn't of caught on fire and people wouldn't have panicked.

If you'd paralyzed Lucky he would've ratted you out to the gang after the paralysis wore off and you would've been the target of a drive-by shooting. This would've happened regardless of what sort of terms you set to counter Lucky's paralysis.

If you'd haggled, you could've gotten the price down at most to 400 AWU on a Great Success. Regular would've cost you 500. Any sort of failure would've left it at 600. Lucky would've honored the deal and lead you to the tunnel without any shenanigans at a time of your choosing regardless of the dice roll.
>>
>>32961916

Soma made clear that Lucky would have bargained with us in good faith if we would have. Stop claiming that the fire was a severe failure, because it wasn't. We spent the Vys to make it a regular success. The ONLY way the fire would have worked is with an exceptional success, and even then, if we would have insisted he guide us for free, he would have still sent bikers after us. This whole thing was completely stupid from start to end. Stop trying to justify bullshit, let it go, and let's get out of this fucking town.

You approach the only thug still breathing and lift up his ruined bike, pushing it over to the side and off of him. You also send a brief message to your companions. {Loot everything worth looting, I want to ask this guy some questions.} You crouch down and use just a little bit of healing magic to mend his wounds, or his major wounds at least. You're not actually going to heal him enough that you'd deplete your reserves any sort of measurable amount, but just enough that he's conscious and more or less able to walk. He comes to with a coughing fit, blood dribbling down the corner of his lip as it concludes. Probably a punctured lung, if you had to guess.

“Who sent you?” He shakes his head. “Fuck you, freak. Nobody sent us, you were wandering around our turf, you shot up our bar, of course we attacked you.” He does his best to spit the words out, though they're still weak and indistinct. He's slurring his speech. He's probably still got a concussion even though you healed him, after all you were sort of half-assing it. “So Pipsqueak didn't contact you?” The thug looks at you confused. “Who the fuck is Pipsqueak? Look, you going to kill me or let me go.”

You're not sure if you believe him. He could have every reason to lie, after all. Who'd willingly sell out their comrade? Still, he doesn't seem to be lying. He doesn't seem any more nervous than you would expect, he's not twitchy, then again he's also concussed. He might not be fully aware of what's going on. We're leaving town right now. Your argument is a moot point.
>>

My point is it's a waste of time and Vys if you want revenge or whatever it is so much just vote to kill him more effectively he's pretty much out of commission as of now

To see if it still works in a low vys environment. If it does and we can figure out how it's doing it we might get a bonus to leeching, though I'm not holding my breath for that.
>>
>>32962575

>>
>>32962467
Are you retarded? How does taking vs and possibly killing him and leaving make my point moot?
>>32962483
So you find it a waste of vs to gain vys.

>>
>>32962630
>Though you doubt you'll gain anything from casting the leech spell.

Gain Vys how?
>>
>>32962630
We risk losing in leeching him and if we leave we won't have to deal with the gang.
>>
>>32962630
>Leech has a base cost of 1, so you can't cast it if you're at 0 vys. Combining it with other effects increases the base cost. So Ranged Leech can't be cast with less than 2 vys.

>>Though you doubt you'll gain anything from casting the leech spell.

So the most likely result is a net loss of 1. If we are really lucky, we get a net gain of 0.

Sounds like a fantastic use of our time.

You check the pockets on the rider's vest and snag the ammo for his pistol as well as an AWU chit. You pluck his pistol off the ground then stand up, stretching out your back briefly. Whenever you start to get low on vys everything starts to ache, it's annoying. “Alright, get out of here then. Tell your friends to stop attacking us.” He pushes himself up, stumbling slightly before catching himself. “Yeah, I'll tell them. No guarantee they listen.” Is all he says before limping his way through the hole in the ice wall you created.

You turn your attention to the looting, calling out to Skull Kid. “Hey, any of these vehicles worth taking with us?” Skull kid stands up straight, holding a stack of AWU chits and one of those strange compact rifles three of the riders had been using. “The hoverbikes? Nah, man. They're totaled. I mean, unless you've got antigrav generators just laying around. It's a proprietary design held by the City heads and you've got to send them in for maintenance if you want to get them fixed. Real hassle, lots of background checks involved.” He shrugs. “It'd be easier to just buy one second hand from someplace.”

He returns to looting. It isn't much longer before your companions all report back with loot in hand. All in all you collected five AWU chits, three compact rifles Skull Kid calls 'SMGs', whatever that means, that oversized pistol one rider had been using, and a shotgun. It all gets stuffed into the cloak, along with the ammunition. Skull Kid speaks up as your party turns to leave. “I can crack the security on those AWU chits, for a small fee of course. Once we're in the City and I have some proper tools that is.” You don't know how cracking the chits would get you the money stored on them, it's not like they're little ceramic pots you can just smash open and collect the coins that fall out. Ah well.

As you head for the bazaar a gaggle of teenage boys riding wheeled planks of wood come to a screeching halt in front of you. One of them, the leader you assume, begins to excitedly shout. “That was SOO cool! How did you do that? What augs do you have? Where can we get them?” Another boy shouts out. “I got the whole thing on video! This shit's going online!”

Skull kid interrupts before you can respond. “He got his augs at a place in the City, sorry guys. Keep an eye on the chop shops though, maybe you'll find some of them.” As he says this he ushers you past the kids, muttering under his breath. “Seriously, lets not blow your cover any more than we already have. I can just envision the shitstorm about to erupt when a video of an elf performing magic hits the web.” You have no idea what the hell he's talking about, but you understood the important part. “I'm not a fucking elf, do I look inbred to you? I'm Samjan, the resemblance is tenuous at best!”

S.K's answer seems to satisfy the teenagers and they roll off on those weird planks of wood to inspect the ice wall you created. You kind of want to show off, but Skull Kid seems adamant about just pushing you through the bazaar. Lucky takes you away from the scene of the incident and after a short while the streets become populated again, you're forced to navigate the crowd. Several times you lose sight of Lucky but you always find him shortly after, you're surprised he hasn't run off. You only emerge from the crowds once you've reached the entry hall you arrived in this tower through. Lucky stops and turns to face your party. “Straight to the tunnel, then I can leave, right?”

“How do I know you're not just leading us into a trap, dropping us into a monster infested hole to nowhere?” Lucky sighs in an exasperated fashion. “Man, you don't. That's the thing. The only assurance I have is my word, and I doubt that counts for much with you.” You rub your eyes, trying to alleviate some irritation. “Then I guess you'll have to lead me all the way to the city then. Unless you have a map.” He shakes his head. “I don't, a map could be found by someone else and then the secret is blown, but look it's a real straight shot. There are only three forks in the tunnel and you go left at each one.”

You think for a moment, and then shake your head. “Look, unless you can guarantee that this tunnel doesn't just lead to the middle of nowhere and it's not a trap, I'm going to need you to lead me all the way to the city. I haven't come this far just to get tricked.” He scowls, briefly. “Can I at least ask you to hold off until we get to the tunnel? Once you see it, you'll know it's for real and it isn't some trap. It's not far outside the Conclave walls, a few hours walk to the tunnel, then a few days walk to the city.”

You think about it for a moment, then nod. “That's agreeable. Not like I'm making a final decision.” Lucky sighs in apparent relief and then leads you out of the tower into the barren earth beyond. You find it odd the the soil here is so rich and black, yet not even grass grows anywhere within the Conclave's walls. Everything is shot through with wires of all shapes and sizes, connecting the two towers together and the towers in turn to the walls that surround them.

You can't help but feel paranoid on the trek from the tower to the main gate you entered through. It seems an inordinately long walk, and the patrolling guards set you on edge. None of them are in any sort of uniform and all of them are wielding firearms of various make and model. None of them seem to pay you any mind though, save the occasional curious glance due to your appearance. You reach the gates unmolested, but are stopped once you get there by the guard who originally let you in. He's leaning against the metal wall absentmindedly, smoking some sort of small paper stick packed with something or other.

“Leaving so soon? What's the rush?” Lucky responds with a casual shrug. “No rush, man. Just taking these six freaks out to the City.” The guard glances from Lucky to you, shaking his head slowly. “You sure know how to pick them, mate. You know his nickname is ironic right?” You sigh. “Yeah, I know. Can you just let us out?” He nods his head briefly and then looks skyward, shouting out to someone whom you assume to be inside the gatehouse. “Open up! Seven coming out!” There is a pause before the gates start to slowly swing open, grinding on their hinges. Once they're wide enough for you to pass through Lucky sets off into the wilderness beyond.

You're disappointed to see your lizard's gone, tromped off back towards its cave as best as you can tell. You'll miss the little acid-breathing monstrosity, even though he did almost kill you. He was a good mount.

With Lucky leading the way there isn't exactly much for you to do. You try to make small talk, but it peters out. You get the feeling that everyone is feeling a little uncomfortable. Fulvia does break the silence eventually though. “Thank you for repairing the damage to my internal wiring. I was having difficulty channeling vys, otherwise I would have done it myself.” You wave her off. “It's the least I could do, you saved my life after all. I'd have hated to be on the receiving end of that shotgun blast knowing what it did to you.” Chryssa speaks up after that. “I would also thank you for killing the rider who intended to attack me with that strange club.” Lucky butts in here, somberly. “That guy had kids, you know.” Chryssa responds before you're able. “Most people do at some point. Besides, the moment he attacked us his life was forfeit.” You're relieved that at least one person hasn't been trying to guilt you throughout this entire incident. It's really starting to weigh on your conscience.

Conversation dies after that, and it's several more hours of walking before anything of note happens. The boredom is just starting to get to you when you notice that Lucky is leading you towards the forest, the great forest that runs by Skull Kid's hovel you'd imagine. The trees here, though alive, have an ominous sort of air to them and the forest floor seems permanently shrouded in thick, roiling fog. It seems to reach out towards you with ethereal claws, and you could swear you can see eyes staring at you from the mist. Of course, you can also see the tall spire at the center of the City just beyond the woods, beckoning you onwards.

You channel water magic into your armor, and the forest lights up. You find it incredibly odd that both Skull Kid and Lucky vanish completely. The only sign they exist at all are two faint, wispy spots of vys, barely visible. They shouldn't be alive. Even the trees glow softly, and weaving through the fog are bright streams of vys. They're all destined for one point, deep inside the forest. It appears to you as a brightly glowing pinprick in the distance, like a star in the night sky. Your attention is drawn away from it by the sound of Profectus' voice. “So nobody is going to mention that we're headed for the big, creepy forest?” Chryssa's stoic voice follows. “No whining allowed.” Prof seems offended. “Whining? I'm not whining! I'm raising legitimate concern about all of our safety!” Chryssa responds shortly. “Whining.”

You drop the flow of vys to your armor instead pull out your nature staff. It takes only a touch of power to activate the staff, casting a bright green glow from the carved dragon's eyes onto the forest in front of you. It lights up, brightly. Everything, even the forest floor, glows. It's too bright for you to make out anything distinct, but between your nature staff and your magic sight you don't think there is anything waiting in ambush for you. You drop the flow of energy into your staff and stuff it back into your cloak, much to the discomfort of Skull Kid and Lucky, the latter of which decides to ask about it. “How do you do that? You store things in there it doesn't seem at all capable of fitting.” You shrug your shoulders. “Magic.”

(1/2)
>>
This doesn't seem to alleviate his concerns, but he moves on. “The tunnel entrance is just inside the forest, not far. It's an overgrown hole in the ground that leads into this old bunker, then there's two tunnels inside. It's the remnants of the old escape tunnels from the first City. People used them to flee into the forest once the bombs stated falling. They'll take you right into the Old City ruins and then you can climb up into the City proper, to do whatever it is you're going to do.”

You enter the woods, stepping through the fog. You get a sense of unease, more distinct with every step you take into the woods. You feel like something is watching you, waiting for you to let your guard down. You didn't detect anything though, so you're not overly worried. Even as the trees seem to stretch and warp impossibly towards the sky, a trick of the light you're sure, or perhaps just paranoia getting to you. You are insane after all.

After walking for several minutes Lucky comes to a stop and motions for your group to do the same. He cautiously proceeds ahead, clearing away the detritus the blankets the forest floor as he does so. Eventually he stops and pulls away a net, which seems to be woven with various bits of plant matter to create the illusion of being just part of the forest floor. Revealed is a metal hole in the ground, a steel ladder leading inside. The hatch that once surely sealed it is missing, and you can't see what's inside very well. Lucky claps his hands proudly. “Welp! Here we are. Doesn't look like its been disturbed since I left it either.”

You pull out your AWU chit, tapping the button to activate it. It projects that weird geometric symbol on the screen for a few moments before bringing you to a small menu. You select money transfer, and a list of near-by addresses are displayed. You select the one labeled 'luCkY_B@sTeRd'. For some unidentifiable reason you find his name unbelievably annoying. “Skull Kid, what would be an appropriate amount of money to give Lucky for his troubles?” Skull Kid shrugs his shoulders. “Considering you don't have to give him a thing? I'd say a hundred ay-woo ought to be more than generous.” You nod, and tap in '100' on the screen before hitting transfer. Lucky pulls his own chit out of his pocket and hits presses a button, your screen lights up with a green display reading 'Accepted'.

Lucky clears his throat. “So, I can go?” You nod, and he bolts. Not even a thank you. Ah well, that's life. You glance at your companions and after a few moments of silence ask. “So who's first?” Chryssa speaks up. “I'll go first, if you're scared of a little hole in the ground.” You're pretty sure she's teasing you, though her voice remains deadpan. She scales the steel ladder carefully and vanishes into the gloom of the bunker.

After a few moments you hear her yell up from the bunker. “It is all clear, nothing waiting in ambush.” You sigh in relief, before proceeding down the ladder. Profectus, Fulvia, Darzi, and Skull Kid follow. The gloom inside the bunker is stifling but you're relieved to see that the two pathways out of this central chamber are both relatively well lit. There is a door directly in front of you, but it looks to be sealed off.

>Try to find a way to open the door.
>Just proceed down the left tunnel, as Lucky directed you.

What will probably end up happening is that we'll find the portal generator and realize it needs huge amounts of vys to operate, so we'll be forced to seek out whatever is attracting all the vys to it in the forest before we can leave.
>>
>>32965922
Neither do you, we already voted for the tunnels. Logically that means we're going to the city before anywhere else. If Lucky told the truth.

I think it's obvious that we'll have to try somewhere else if we can't find the artifact we're looking for in the ruins of the city, and a coalescence of vys is a good bet, but the vote was made.

Technically speaking, and correct wherever I screw this up;

We're on a side quest to search the ruins of an ancient city in a side world that we wandered into as an out of the many leveled loot&monster infested side dungeon/mine which we went in to complete the bandit clearing sidequest gained from the traveling to the water temple objective and in the process of that have acquired a mission to kill the leader of our home city to placate some pan-dimensional image of death, got poisoned by a giant lizard which acted cute despite its size, got naded in a bar due to fire magic intimidation bartering, and are on our way to explore tunnels infested with who knows what.
>>
>>32966402
Oh, and everyone including us has died at least 2 times over during all of this and if we weren't a water vatis we wouldn't have gotten past the mine. There were also dragons and ancient rituals making us more insane and fish people but fuck them.
>>
>>32966446
And you want to go back into that?
>>
>>32966484
Go back into what?
>>
>>32966402
And our movements are being monitored by a trio of spooky, black molten tar looking sarcastic skeletons who only like us because we're slowly going batshit insane.
>>
>>32966402
You forgot that we're on a side quest to repair our AI who is on a side quest to restore the ancient empire who's ruins we're searching.

Oh well that's the worlds' problem!
In a perfect scenario I imagine leaving this world gets us someplace else besides in the deep mines, far away from any potential dangers the dragons will have caused because we decided to freeze their home, and also be close to the water temple where our guar are faithfully waiting because they could secretly read our minds all along.

I know very well that that's far too optimistic.
