You are John James Green, mutant vagrant.

You duck under another swing. The beast snarls in incognisant rage, leering at you through Laura’s eyes.

Your attempt to pull the rug out from under a small section of Creeper’s remaining criminal empire (fiefdom, really) could have perhaps gone better. Either you were expected, or you tripped some kind of silent alarm – either way, a full battalion of what appeared to be armed mercenaries swarmed the place, and you barely escaped with your life.

You made a pretty awful racket in the process, though, which makes the current situation even more problematic. Rather than being greeted with a nice, soothing blanket and a cup of hot cocoa by your companions (well, that was never gonna happen, but… y’know… it would’ve been nice), you were immediately assaulted by a frenzied Laura, who is presently attempting to gut you right in the middle of the street.

A deep, heavy percussion rolls through the ground, originating from somewhere close by. You don’t have much time here, do you?

Oh good, I'm not too late.

We need to remember what the shop girl told us about the black guy.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/29490406/

We can ask if it's the same black guy here and if he can do it to us.
>>
>>33069560
No, that's a terrible idea. For all we know they have tranqs that can beat Laura's metabolism and ours, and they already have a way of tracking us in close quarters.
>>
>>33069651
we're mutant in the marvel universe, we don't need help being unpopular. badum tsh

they didn't bust out the tranqs back inside. Did they officially sight laura?
>>
>>33069651
>>33069668

That might take too much time. Plus Laura might count Brian coming close to JJ as interfering and knock him the fuck out.
>>
>>33069651
Nice solution, but kind of meta knowledge to figure out and use right now.
>>
>>33069668
I was thinking more along the lines of having him tag us so that Laura stops trying to kill us for the moment, then we can go wash up.
>>
>>33069689
I doubt she'd be holding back enough to just knock him out. She's berserk when Triggered.
>>
>>33069694
not meta, his power was explained in universe to us
>>
Laura has metal claws.
That means she has metal bones
Metal is heavy as fuck
We're stronk as fuck
Therefore, stripping and going to swim in the river is the best way to outrun her. She can drown a little and it doesn't matter because of the Healing Factor.
>>
>>33069662
No, but they were certainly prepared for Laura given the trigger scent and if we lead Laura to them, we're just helping them with their objective.
>>
>>33069715

She incapacitates those trying to interfere.
>>
>>33069694
Someone told us before, so we would know about it. Just call it a brainstorm.
>>
>>33069722
>That means she has metal bones

NOPE.

Only metal claws. And I think adamantium is really light.
>>
>>33069722
In her origin story they only did her claws, the rest of her skelly is normal. Its why her healing factor is better than wolvie's
>>
>>33069722
She only has metal claws if I remember right.

>>33069727
If by incapacitate, you mean render a corpse, then yes.

>>
>>33069727

>>
>>33069722
This isn't terrible logic, still a little meta, but what else are we going to do to stop her? If she's angry enough to go after us without rationalizing, she'll probably chase us all the way to anywhere so long as we keep her attention. Thank god for all those times we played tag
>>
>[X] Try to get Lucas and the Hellions to run.
>Autosuccess engaged!

It comes at you again, claws shining with lethal intent, but you step deftly to one side, your speed surprising the both of you. If this were Laura – the real Laura – she’d have probably gotten you by now, maybe killed you and left you bleeding in the snow already, but it’s not. It has her speed and her agility, almost none of her almost preternatural talent for combat. It’s just going through the motions of rage, swiping feverishly at you, like an animal.

“What the hell!?”

Julian close behind him, Lucas emerges from behind the dumpsters off into the alley, hurriedly rolling up his sleeves. A dim, dusk-red glow pulses along his veins, pooling at the base of his knuckles.

“Don’t!” You shout, panicking momentarily. The beast lunges at you and you twist under it, darting around the creature. “I’ll deal with this, alright?” Another snarl, another swipe. It misses you by an inch – more or less. “You guys need to run! I’ll…”

You’ll do what, exactly? You’ll sit here and duck and weave until you’re finally out of energy and the creature wearing Laura’s skin decorates the street with your innards?

“…I’ll lead her away!”

Lucas looks like he’s about to argue, but Julian grasps him by the shoulder, pulling him away. The other teen offers you a quick, sort of douchy nod, as if it must mean something coming from him, before the group scarpers off into the night.

Leave you and the lady alone.

Say we get away from Laura. Then what do you think she's going to do? She going to head straight to her next target. The giant cloud of trigger scent a few blocks away. Then she get captured.

>shadow quest was stealing our dice all along

As you fellow muties vanish into the night, you ponder your remaining options.

You can’t go back. Guns are back. And the cops’ll be here soon, followed shortly by Mutant Control, when someone realized just what the hell is going on. Hell, maybe SHIELD’ll get involved. Private armies tearing up a small chunk of NY is SHIELD stuff, right?

You leap to the side of another bladed swipe, and an idea forms in the back of your mind. You… you can jump pretty good. Not Samurai Jack good (you doubt very much that you’ll ever be Samurai Jack good at anything), but pretty damn good nonetheless. You can take this straight off the street, somewhere nice and high up, where you have the distinct advantage of being really really sticky (also, wings).

Screaming in rage, the beast hurls itself at you, leading with its claws. You sweep back, leading it straight into the alley Julian and company were using for cover. Waiting for it to commit itself into yet another snarling lunge, you push off, nine or ten feet of air suddenly rushing in under you. You slam straight into the alley wall and flail out desperately, your palm sticking fast to the brickwork. Hissing in frustration, the beast glares up at you, taking a brief, frenzied moment to assess its surroundings before bolting for the fire escape a little to your left.

You let it gain some ground before pushing off again, throwing yourself onto the roof of the opposite building. Blessed with a drop of precious time, you take a moment to think.

…It’s pretty obviously that gas they doused you with, isn’t it? The smell is tenacious, clinging to you like an overbearing mother, its acrid sweetness still fresh. That’s why she went for you, rather than just popping her claws through whoever happened to be in sight when… whatever this is… kicked in.

So it’s a gas designed to affect her sense of smell, or something. You wonder why it doesn’t work on you.

The beast tears its way up the fire escape, slicing through whatever happens to be in its way. It throws an atavistic, feral glare over its shoulder at you, before making an impressive leap across the alley, fingers finding purchase on the ledge beside you.

You’ve got to get clean.

I wonder if muscle memory would work from watching cartoons, or if it has to be live action.

Strength is a first set power in the tertiary catagory.
It will always be locked, because of the decision for a stealth build at quest start.

He can't TK what he can't see. Also Crusty said he gave Julian a different power than in the comics. We still don't know what it is for sure.

Julian could still have TK tho. "Different power" might have meant that Julian power just had a different mechanic behind it. TK through molecular manipulation was very OP in the comics.

Fire hydrants! New York is full of fire hydrants! Back when you were a kid, blissfully ignorant of the ways of the world, you thought it was an exaggeration, but it isn’t. NY is probably built on some kind of giant fire hydrant hive that occasionally pushes a new generation of spawn to the surface.

As the beast scrabbles its way up onto the roof, you let the change take your arms, bones bursting through flesh, flesh bursting through hoodie, skin stretching and warping. You take to the air in a single mighty heave, just in time to evade a ferocious, arcing swing of the beast’s claws.

You remain just out of her reach for a few minutes, held aloft by the cool night breeze, before you spot a fire hydrant sitting in the street below. You swoop down, skidding a little as you hit the ground. You’re still not quite certain of how exactly one goes about landing a JJ. Silhouetted atop a nearby building, the beast glances to and fro, before running for the closest way down. Breathing heavily, you rest your foot against the hydrant.

Beginning to calm down, you flinch a little as a flash of blue light snaps over you. It alternates to red, and you realize, in a burst of sudden horror, that you’ve been so entirely focused on Laura that you’ve been blocking most other crap out. The sirens screech in your ears. Three cop cards heading straight down the street.

Crap.

He's already answered this question. Do you not read the after quest Q&A's.

The first and only time JJ used the power JJ melted a dudes face and started him on fire. You need to roll a will check because JJ will second guess himself before even trying to use the power.

Remember in one of the earlier thread when we rolled a will check to strike a match. We failed and JJ never lit the match. Just thinking about it was enough to give him PTSD flash backs.

Because if fire took everything you ever loved at age 13ish, then an angry mob tried to light you on fire after pouring petrol all over you, you'd remember. Or at least, a part of you would. The rest of you wouldn't, because OH GOD.

So whenever something like that comes up (say, someone lighting a match), a part of your brain would say HEY I REMEMBER THAT GUYS REMEMBER THAT TIME-and then the rest of your brain would metaphorically tackle that part and attempt to shut it the fuck up.

That is why we require a DC 18 to light a match, much less use Dragon's Breath.

It gets shouted because no one wants to make a DC18 with no bonuses. And the times it comes up in the quest naturally (Demon & shipwreck), we get bonuses and the DC isn't as high.

That's pretty much it.

When we're in a combat situation it does. If we chose between

>DB = a DC 18 with no modifier

I'll pick dodge every time. We're to close to getting an arm chopped off as it is.

Relationship mods are the only reason we've beat phobia rolls in the past. If one of our friends is in a burning building and there is no other way to save them then we get a relationship mod equal to our relationship level with them.

If we decided to burn someones face off just to see what happens, we get no mods.

>[X] Invisible.

Reflexively, you scrub yourself out of the visual spectrum, vanishing into the cold, muted embrace of invisibility. That’s pretty much your default reaction to authority figures, possibly going back to before you even had these stupid powers, and it’s served you okay so far. Two cruisers shoot by, clearly en route to some nearby emergency, but the last one grind to a halt in the middle of the road.

You flinch a little as a young, blonde officer of the law emerges from the passenger seat, glancing warily across the street, radio in one hand and pistol in the other.

“…10-X, I repeat, 10-X, we have possible mutant involvement…” Staring at the apparently empty space you’re occupying, he glances to and fro, down the road, sighing a little. “…Possible suspect appears to have vanished. We’re”–

Something knocks over one of the bins squatting at the mouth of a nearby alley. You squirm inwardly, because you know it’s not just something – it’s Laura, or the creature wearing her flesh. Christ.

Starting slightly, the cop glances in her direction. She starts to put on speed.

“…Young lady…?”

Her breath trails from her as a long, guttural snarl.

“…Ma’am, are you”–

The moon bounces across her claws. You see his face change in an instant. He raises his gun, eyes dilating, heart accelerating–

The reason people keep saying DC 18 no mods is because we don't get any of those if we have options that don't involve DB.

The part where we got bonuses in the past based on the circumstances at the time?

And from the pastebin:
Boosted Attributes:
COURAGE (+1)

But likely the phobia outweighs the courage bonus there, however I still needed to mention it.

If we did it for the lulz (an un-JJ thing to do in my opinion), then no, but if we met Creeper and he was threatening our friends, it might happen. Or if he was egging us on while trying to use our fear against us (because he likely knows about it).

The mutant vanishing, plus the phrasing. A cop says the mutant vanished, it's more likely chalked up to "Weird mutant shit" than "suspect fled the scene or is currently hiding over there".

I swear, we need to shove something nasty up Laura's nose to overwhelm the scent trails of the trigger scent once we clean off. Cleaning ourselves off with water is a good start, but we need something to keep the Facility from causing Laura to go berserk the minute she gits a whiff.

Dammit. She’ll kill him. Cops’ve never done you any favours, but you never gave them much of a reason to count you on their good side, did you? You and your backpacks full of drugs and your iron pipe round the back of tourists’ heads. In a way you sort of owe these people, don’t you?

You feel your arms shift, flesh furling back into shape, wings receding into five clawed digits. The gun rises through the air and you perceive, in perfect, aching clarity, Laura’s eyes swivel in their sockets, turning toward him. The beast sets its sights on him.

Hurling yourself off the fire hydrant, you bull into the man, a panicked yelp expanding in his chest as an apparently invisible force knocks him off his feet, sending him tumbling through the air. And then the beast is on you, its claws raking in close, its breath filling the air with incognisant, empty hate. You catch Laura’s wrists a second before the thing puppeteers her claws straight through your chest, but the force slams you against the hood of the cruiser, nudging it very slightly across the tarmac. The beast spits and growls straight into your face, blood boiling in the corners of its eyes.

In the corner of your eye, the driver scrambles out of his car, fear bleating in his eyes, fingers fumbling at his gun. He draws it and –

“Jerry, no!”

The other officer, the one you saved, throws up a cautionary hand, his eyes focused on you, something resembling gratitude in them. His partner hesitates just long enough for you to…

So far we have never gotten a relationship bonus for moral support which is what you seem to be thinking.

So yeah: ideas for the next step, anybody? I'm pretty sure it's going to be either persuade the cops to let us just go, invis out, blatantly flee, or something else.

>[X] Push, hydrant.

The beast snarls in your face and you feel compelled to answer in kind, a vicious, deep roar reverberating up through your throat, emerging from some ancient, deep-down place, somewhere primeval. You think you feel a wave of sickening heat emerge from your mouth, all but plastering the hair to Laura’s face.

You heave. You heave with all your ridiculous, bestial strength. Laura surges back, towards the street, still pushing desperately to get her claws into your chest, and the moment you feel the fire hydrant beneath you slam your foot straight down on it.

Cold, clear water washes over you, slicing up into the air. It burns, not like fire. The beast struggles and writhes, screeching in hungry frustration, pushing harder now, hissing, spitting, finally resorting to putting its teeth into your shoulder. The pain lances through you, but the cold dulls it, evening it out across you. Slowly, the acidic touch of the gas fades.

Slowly, the claws vanish, pale skin knitting itself whole behind them. The beast pulls its fangs out of your flesh, and Laura looks up at you. Her teeth are mottled with blood. Breath smells of gore and adrenaline. The water shimmers on her skin, wreathing her in a cold, colourless flame.

She breaths in, and opens her mouth, and–

The gunshot cuts through the night. You feel it dig in to your back. You feel the blood bubble up to the surface, spilling out through your hoodie, hot against cold. It doesn’t hurt, at first. Then it does.

“Jerry! Holy shit, Jerry! What have you”–

You knees touch the pavement. You taste blood in your throat.

“Johnathan!” Laura’s voice. “Johnathan!” Laura’s voice. “John!”

You feel yourself burning.

“…I… I didn’t… I didn’t meant to…”

You smell his lies. They curdle in the air like fat, greasy turds. Fat, like his waist. Fat, bubbling, roasting, spitting. You could do with some pork. You could eat a lot of pork. Straight off the bone. Gristle, meat, eyeballs, brains, skin, blood, snout… teeth. Uniform. Badge.

“Jesus Christ, man, he saved my life!”

“…I just… he’s… he’s one of them…”

Your gums bleed and smoke billows in your breath. You feel everything sharpening. You feel the wound spitting little tufts of metabolic fire. Steam coils off you where the water falls. You’re roasting. Your blood is boiling. You’re shifting, bones melting, twisting, soldering themselves into new, awkward, lethal shapes. You are becoming ugly.

“John!” Her voice cuts through the inferno. She clasps your hands in hers, her skin turning red and raw at your touch. You breathe out a stinging fury, a death-rattle made of thunder, and you hear glass shattering nearby. People swear loudly.

“John!” Her arms are under yours. She’s lifting you. You align your thoughts with her warmth, with her voice. You feel the heat subside, and, in a moment of sudden, breathless cognisance, you shift the both of you into invisibility.

Leaning heavily on Laura, you stagger off the street, into one of the adjacent alleys. Your feet feel numb. Or cold. One or the other. The night whirls by and you realize you’ve stepped out of invisibility. Nearby, something shakes the earth, and the two of you stop momentarily. A huge, bulbous cloud of smoke, its innards wracked by flecks of orangey-yellow heat, spreads out over the night sky. Boom. You think you feel the shockwave all the way over here. Wherever here is.

>[X] Just be quiet.

You don’t speak. You just let the cold tickle your nose and the world heave on by. Air is like ozone now, like shorted televisions. There’s a thick, muggy heat rising up through the cold, washing over the two of you in barely-palpable waves. You think you see brief flashes of light, like the veins on a stormcloud, bursting to and fro through the smoke. Reminds you of pictures from Nagasaki – the tremendous, yawning cloud, the yellow-red fury, the deathly imperiousness of it.

You flew good today. You always wanted to fly. Who doesn’t?

You wish you didn’t have the goofy wings, though. How do they even work? Human skeleton isn’t even remotely aerodynamic, right? You guess it’s just… just a mystery of the X-gene. Mystery of nature. God.

“You’re healing quickly.” Notes Laura, her breath laboured. She must’ve been carrying your useless ass for a while. There’s always someone carrying you. Joyce. Creeper. Laura. Your approach to life is like your approach to ice skating – lots of uncomfortable flailing around followed by twisting an ankle and watching from the side-lines. “You’ve lost a lot of blood, but your wound is already pushing out the projectile. You may be experiencing some light-headedness. That is normal.”

It’s not normal. Being like this isn’t normal.

“I’m sorry.” You mumble, your voice emerging as a slurred mess. “I’m sorry.”

She should just leave you here, in whatever alley off wherever street. Just drop you down with the garbage.

I'd like it nixed, an it's ability that hasn't seen much use since we purchased it, given how corrosive and flammable it is. I'm not sure JJ is/would be comfortable using it, it takes a will roll just to use it making it unreliable in combat situations and it takes time for us to get over the phobia whereas as any other blast ability would not need the amount of time and effort DB would need to make it consistently reliable in combat

There will be very basic control over warp spasm.

Low level guys, probably? Shocker could bond with him on the basis of how shit their lives are. Magneto would think he's fuckin' neato, seeing as he is a mutant, and all mutants are beautiful.

Dunno any good actors young enough for JJ or the other kids. Cillian Murphy for Creeper. Three stone cold muthafuckas stapled together for Barracuda. Christoph Waltz for Typhon. Ryan Gosling for Laura.

Sorta DC Lucifer from his old ongoing. Best Lucifer.

That actually made me recoil a bit. I guess we might have used it if we had a situation where we wanted to 1) Light a group on fire (which JJ would probably not want to do, because who subjects groups to his own phobia?) and 2) If attacking that way was the best option. Pepper-breath on the latest group of armed and armored guys with adamantium clawed lady would probably have gotten us killed.

Even more than that, it's like having PTSD and being expected to HIT SOMEONE WITH THAT PTSD AND MAKE THEM FEEL WHAT YOU DID AND STILL FEAR. When we use it succesfully, yes. What I am saying is that if we upgrade the power to level two, turning it into actual flames, the DC will likely be harder if we don't already practice on it.

Pretty sure we don't vomit JJ's mind, history, and emotional well-being with Dragonbreath.
>>
>>33074713

Crusty also DB doesn't count towards a normal check. A normal phobia check that JJ had no part in starting would require one pass to drop the DC.

But, when we first bought DB Crusty said that it would take multiple successful DB passes to count as one normal phobia check.

Basically it take three or four Passes to drop the DC but only one crit fail to drop it.

But everyone forgets that we need multiple passes. But if we crit fail any of those rolls it would drop it.
>>
>>33074872

Strength can't disable things from the inside out or do pinpoint damage. Or crack a locking mechanism without destroying the outside. Or hurt someone taking a hostage AND not hurt the hostage.

>>
>>33074841
>we can't get shot from matches..right?
Yes we can.

But even if we drop the DC Draconic Breath is still a shit power.

Level 1: JJ may project a stream of heat and unstable gases from his mouth that causes acute physical pain and shock to humans, as well as igniting highly flammable substances.
Level 2: JJ spits fire. He may expel a short-ranged (less than a meter) tongue of blue flame, or ‘lob’ small, arcing packets of similarly ignited particles over greater distances. His breath may cause immediate second degree burns.
Level 3: At this level, JJ may breathe out a long, intense stream of azure fire. It can very quickly cause third degree burns.
Level 4: At this level J may widen the breadth of his draconic breath. He becomes capable of very quickly causing fourth degree burns.
Level 5: JJ will burn you to ash. His breath is more potent than any military grade flamethrower, able to defeat the heat tolerance of all but few substances.
>>
>>33074809

>>33074848

>>
>>33074872
What can dragonbreath do that Taserhands can't?
Sonic has stuff that strength can do, sure. But it also has armor-piercing and could possibly break armor-plating off by rattling the joints apart beneath said armor, making it easier to just brute strength it.
Meanwhile breathing fire just makes more fire. Once/If we ever got to that point where it could do that.

>>33074918

>>33074918
It's somewhat useful at higher levels but it's a short range damage only attack.

It's only good for killing. JJ is not a killer. There are only two people in this entire quest JJ actually wants to kill. Kimura is completely immune to DB. And JJ doesn't need DB to kill creeper. Senses level 5 allows us to get around creepers invisibility so JJ could snap his neck like a twig.

>>
>>33075028
>JJ is not a killer.

Not always, though there are some villains who need a good skullbashing.
>>
>>33074918
And for comparison

SONIC SCREAM
JJ develops the ability to emit waves of sonic force from his vocals.
Level 1: At this level, JJ may project a high-pitched beam that causes sudden and acute irritation to nearby listeners, and can strike objects with roughly the force of an expert jab.
Level 2: At this level, the soundwave may be widened to a meter, and strikes hard enough to easily knock normal humans off their feet. It can be emitted as a high-pitched variant that causes intense pain and, eventually, temporary deafness.
Level 3: JJ may now modulate the frequency of his scream, allowing it to displace objects by vibrating them at the right frequency. This makes the power ideal for dismantling machinery, and can cause deep tissue damage to humans.
Level 4: At this level, JJ may widen the soundwave to a two meter spread, and can generate a pulse-variation in its frequency, allowing it to pass through some objects without causing damage while harming others. Alternatively, he may project it as a nearly-solid barrage of displaced air, which can seriously damage even hardy constructs.
Level 5: At this level, JJ may precisely target the shatterpoints of objects, allowing him to selectively damage different parts of a system without disrupting the rest of it. With enough effort he may generate powerful enough vibrations to cause local seismic activity.

>JJ is not a killer

The guy at the docks would say differnetly if he wasn't dead anon....
>>
>>33075011
Oh, and I'll even clarify my point, we were literally hitting the bad guy with our backstory. We were decking a demon in the schnozz with our emotional trauma and memories of our friends. In a way that made it as clear as possible, what kind of person JJ is, was, and how he sees his friends and family.
>>
>>33075036
But of course, it's napalm, so it doesn't go out.
>>33075040
Which Dragon breath is shit at. It's good for killing the people we don't actually give a shit about.
>>
>>33075049
JJ has killed, yes, but he would need to continue killing people regularly to be considered a 'killer' in that sense
>>
>>33075049
Yeah. While he was working for Creeper, while he LIKED Creeper, and to save Creeper's life. AND it also terrified the ever-living shit out of him.
>>
>>33075036
Ya, JJ is immune to the fire that comes directly out of his face but has no protection against secondary fires DB starts.

It would be very easy for JJ to kill himself if he uses DB inside a building.
>>
>>33075077
Now Laura? Laura is a killer; she consistently uses her powers to kill, and has very little qualms to do so.
>>
>>33075011
I was just talking about overcoming JJ's fear of fire and how character development can come from that. I'm not the one who brought Dragon Breath into it.
>>
>>33075063
it can kill Creeper. He isn't fireproof.

heck, the large area attack some anons are so worried about would make killing the hard to locate Creeper easier
>>
>>33075115
And possibly hurt us or the people around us, or people who had nothing to do with the conflict.
>>
DIRECTED RADIATION PULSE
Requires: Level 3 Draconic Breath, Level 2 Photosynthetic Biology.
Cost: 2
Drawing on his stored reserves of sunlight, JJ can choose to convert his fiery breath into a blast of solar radiation. This coherent beam of radiant energy lacks the area of effect that Draconic Breath usually allows for, but has exceptional focused power.

I like the solar beam..
>>
>>33075099
Laura was literally designed, trained, and molded into being a killer. JJ was a well-to-do mugga that fell in the wrong crowd, did things he deeply regrets, and is trying to make better, but every step of the way he tried to help those he cared about. Laura's a killer, she accepts it, and she may be trying to do better thanks to JJ. But for the sake of JJ, she will kill without hesitation.
>>
>>33075095
>Crusty is going to kill JJ from one bad roll
>>
>>33075115
It can but we don't need it. Senses level 5 allows us to get around creepers invisibility so JJ could just walk up to creeper and snap his neck like a twig.
>>
>>33075147

I don't think it's worth 7 points that we could use on other stuff.

>>33075157

I wouldn't doubt it.
>>
>>33075147
me too
>>
>>33075147
And costs fuck tons more points for effects we could easily get from sonic.
>>
>>33075169
the thread would have ended 70ish threads ago if so
>>
>>33075169
Did you miss the part where we failed our 'don't fucking die' rolls like 4 times after getting shot with a shotgun?
>>
>>33075147
It costs 7 points anon. We could make JJ bullet proof or give him adamantium claws for that price.
>>
>>33075207
Part 2 has more X points than part 1
>>
>>33075207
Actually adamantium claws only costs 5 points.
>>
Honestly, I have a feeling that Kimura can't take an adamantium stab from someone with super strength.
>>
>>33075206

Healing 3
>>
In Kyle/Yost X-force, Kimura got knocked down by a bullet from a handgun.

Superstrength is enough to scramble her brains and give her fatal internal injuries
>>
>>33075113
It all started from a discussion of how Dragon breath is bad for character development branching from >>33074231 .
>>33074344 was me pointing out how it's bad for that. My argumentative stance was due to miscommunication to the post you linked to me be very dissimilar to the example I gave (training chat and warm-fuzzies not like literally punching something with your backstory and weaponizing how you feel about characters).
>>
>>33075234
Actually she can
>>
>>33075253
and healing 2 fixed 3rd degree burns over night
>>
>>33075253
So, the power to recover from almost dying will save us from a threat larger than a scared housewife with a shotgun. Seems vaguely legit.
>>
>>33075292
>>33075303

Sorry. Fucked up on remembering 3rd degree being high instead of low.
>>
>>33074344
Let's be fair, a sack of orphaned puppies would just be night of good barbecue to JJ. A loss, but an easy sacrifice.
>>
>>33075272
And in another one she wasn't fazed by being thrown 10 miles.
>>33075287
Neither Wolverine nor Laura possess super strength, the limits of her skin are unknown mostly because she hasn't gone up against anyone who could damage her.

Pretty sure anyone with a high enough superstrength can just crush her into a small ball of flesh, given that her skin is still just as flexible as normal skin.
>>
>>33075287
At our level of super strength though?
Like I feel that Spider-Man could draw blood from her if we gave him an adamantium shiv.
>>
>>33075149
I get the feeling JJ would kill again to protect the people he cares about, but would feel guilty about it afterwards. Maybe an exception for someone like Creeper, who has committed some serious atrocities.
>>
>>33075157
The stakes have been that high before, yes.
>>
>>33075329
how fast was she thrown, we had a physics anon go over this once...
>>
>>33075272
Doubtful. Hellion once propelled her twenty-something miles up, and impact with the ground didn't kill her. Barely seemed to daze her.
>>
>>33075329
Also, that comic issue was horseshit. She's only supposed to have super tough skin and moderate endurance, that shit should have killed her.
>>
>>33075352
>I get the feeling JJ would kill again to protect the people he cares about, but would feel guilty about it afterwards.

Yeah.

Though I think he'd celebrate after killing Creeper, from what he's seen in the last few threads.
>>
>>33075367
It was by the same writer that came up with her. Yost was writing that book at the time.
>>
>>33075361
Fast enough to go 20 miles in a rather short amount of time.

If there wasn't enough force in it to push her past, she still hit maximum velocity, which anon said was like being power punched by mike tyson over every cubic inch of your body.
>>
>>33075325
Yeah, I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for heart-wrenching decisions and people usually care more about random puppies than random babies. But puppies in a fire, JJ would feed his hobo-clan well until Noriko asks what the meat is. I said Noriko because it's funnier if the Asian asks about eating dog, because racist jokes.
>>33075352
JJ would, I agree, but I think he'd hesitate and then find his resolve to do what it takes to defend those he loves. Laura I feel would react with KShanksBye, and then maybe think about how JJ would react to this followed by protecting him from it.
>>
>>33075206
Sub dermal armor plus a level 3 healing factor and bad aim on the part of the wife. And given that it probably still killed us for a few hours, I'm wondering if there are going to be any longer term ramifications for JJ, like that demon getting at chance to scent his soul again or a greater propensity to get caught up in supernatural shit.
>>
>>33075415

Nah, you got your racial stereotypes wrong.

Chinese eat cats, Koreans eat dogs.

Japanese eat dolphins and whales.
>>
>>33075400
Yost needs to keep his shit consistent.
>>

but Mike can't do six tons.

at the very least we can do pick.
>>
>>33075427
Plus we were left for dead and stuffed in a trunk for quite a while. If we were in a REALLY bad situation, someone would have doubletapped.
It would be cool if we got caught up in magic shit, just a little dip, not enough to go from full-mugga to full-magic. We're more of an X-____ comic than a Doctor Strange, but we could do a crossover or similar Marvel-wide Event that involves something magical and is barely referenced ever again. Or Kevin turns into a vampire for good or something.
>>
>>33075482
No, Anon.
Mike tyson power punch, concentrated within a single cubic inch.
Like, if you put a metal rod at the end of each one of tysons arms.

If we got fist spines we'd be that guy from Terraformers.
>>
>>33075521
We need more strength for this but we ALMOST have the senses.
>>
what else is in danger of atrophying?

when was the last time we used the claws or Tasers anyway?
>>
>>33075578
>Tasers
A few hours ago in-quest.
>>
>>33075578
Tasers was last thread or the thread before.
Claws is every fist fight, they're assumed to be out mostly because them not in a fist fight is stupid unless we're trying to hide our mutant nature.
>>
>>33075578

JJ uses tasers to charge up his phone.
>>
>>33075578
I think a couple threads ago? We've been using those powers fairly often. We used the tazer hands to knock the dad out, and our claws to fuck up the Jack lab
>>
>>33075603
did we vote to use them?
>>
>>33075549
I swear there's a power for this.
>>
>>33075578
We use taser about every other day to charge ours and everyone elses cell phones. And we used claws to cut the cables that those people in the basement were hooked up to.
