After a few days in the warp, the battle barge finally pulls out of the warp. You awaken from your slumber to find that your brothers are awakening themselves. The Sergeant stretches a bit before jumping out of bed and grabbing his gear.

"Alright boys, get to the hangar in an hour. Do whatever you need to do before you head on over hangar because this is the last time you'll be seeing friendly faces for a while."

The scouts grunt in acknowledgement as they grab their gear and start to suit up.

Looks like you got a little bit of time before you have to head down to the hangar.

>Go to the Chapel for some last minute praying.
>Go to the firing range for some last minute bolter drills.

You head down to the firing range to touch up on your skills.

>Add +1 to your next combat skill with a bolter.

After a few good minutes of practicing, you head down to the hangar while checking your gear to make sure everything is alright. The sergeant waves you over to a thunder hawk where your squad is about to embark.

"Alright, boys, here's the deal. Our brothers on the ground are getting close to eliminating the last stronghold that holds a few key individuals that are holding this rebellion up. Our mission is to scout out areas that seem to be weakspots and cause a little bit of destruction along the way. As far as we know, this stronghold is a symbol of hope to the rebellion. They'll keep fighting as long as it stays up. Let's soften it up for our brothers, shall we? Any questions?"

If we take the stronghold, this will demoralize the rest of the rebellion and cause them to abandon ranks or join the loyalists on the planet for the hope of getting a lenient punishment. Anything else?"

"Alright, let's get it on then."

You board the thunderhawk and watch the ramp close up. You feel the thunderhawk lift off the ground and out of the hangar. The Sergeant then gets up and starts passing out grav chutes.

"There is a chance that we'll be spotted by roaming hydras. If we get shot down, this will get you to the ground safely."

You put on the grav chute and await for further orders. Then, a familiar face appears from the cockpit.

"Ah, look at this. Seems that you and I have a common goal, Sergeant."

The sergeant growls a little bit before standing up and saluting the cannoness.

"Hey, I was told to see you off and to ask you something."

"Make it quick, we make planetfall within a few minutes."

Amelia winks at you before continuing.

"There is a certain Hospitaller down on the ground that was captured before the sisters of battle could pull out of the main hive city, a Sister Emily. She holds in her mind the code to a very important artifact to the Sisters of Battle, a shroud said to have been worn by a saint during our order's founding. It was tradition to bring a piece of it to every world we would visit to bring good luck to us. It should be stored in a strong box and the code is only given to those that are loyal to the order. Please, could you make sure that she is kept safe and the code isn't in those rebel's hands?"

"I''ll see what I can do, but I make no promises."

Amelia smiles and bows.

"Thank you. It would mean a lot to us if you brought it back."

---

Luckily for your squad, your trip wasn't too dangerous and you touch down quickly. The Sergeant then takes out a map.

"Alright, maggots, we're here and our target is fifty miles north. Keep your eyes open and watching for enemy targets or friendlies in need of help."

You start to move out.

"They look friendly enough."

The squad moves forward and starts asking questions about enemy movements.

"Have faith in the Emperor, and in your own resolve. We will see you through this."

You see a few guardsmen's faces light up and smile at your words. You look back to your squad as the two scouts are holding in their laughter.

"Jeez, when you talk, you can talk. Let's get a move on, we just need to see the fortress before we can rest."

The rest of the walk goes on fairly uneventful other than some lost farm animals. You finally reach the fort and the sergeant calls for you all to stop.

"Alric, Jorgen, check the scene."

"Yes sir."

Alric and Jorgen grab their rifles and start to check out the field around them before signaling the all clear.

"Nameless, take Blondey here and scout a head for any unseen dangers."

As you head up, you see that the sergeant looks a little worried and you hear him say something under his breath.

"He's right to worry... There should be two more squads meeting up with us..."

>They must have run into trouble.

>Find brother first.

Look, if we can arm the hostages, we'll have a much better chance of fighting our way out. They may know the fortress better than we do, as well.

"I'll start working on that then..."

Hendrick is careful as to not be seen by anyone in the courtyard as he makes his way down the left hallway to an intersection. He looks both ways before waving you to come forward.

"If I can suggest something, Nameless. If there are armored vehicles in the stronghold, then they must have a depot in here somewhere..."

THAT'S GONNA HAVE TO BE IT FOR TONIGHT AS IT IS FAIRLY LATE FOR ME HERE AND THE INTERNET IS GETTING FAIRLY WONKY HERE.

PEACE OUT.

>>
>>33097567
Also do we have any explosives on us?
>>
>>33097567
You don't know. But, you can choose it, if you guys want.
>>
>>33097628
Check your gear on the docs.
>>
>>33097660
Ok so no explosives then the best thing we can do right now tho is too split up someone goes too the armor depot and set some munitions in there too explode too make a good distraction the other guy needs too go find the missing scouts
>>
>>33097715
if we shoot one of our spare clips that would cause a small explosion and a fair amount of shrapnel. sorta wasteful though
>>
chose our parent chapter next thread by the way when is the next thread
>>
For our Chapter's Parent, I'm thinking something bog standard. Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, and the like, not Wolfs or Blood or Dark Angels.
>>
>>33097744
No no we need a BIG one like blowing up a fuel tank or a few tank rounds something that will make a big explosion
>>
I think Imperial Fists would be good that or Iron Hands
>>
>>33097913
Imperial Fists is what I was thinking, Iron Hands is too Mechanicus.
