You are Captain WILLIAM PIERCE, a combat rescue officer of the United States Air Force.

Currently, you're participating (well, more like observing) an aerial skirmish between Japanese and Chinese fighters just off the coast of Japan. You've already picked up a couple of downed pilots, but with the arrival of a second wave of Chinese fighters, you thought best to get clear of the immediate dogfight while your witches assisted the Japanese planes.

"Hey, Captain." Bullseye calls out. "I got two Japanese destroyers inbound. Should we link up with them?

You pause to think about it. If you remember correctly, Japanese ships were modeled similarly after the USN, so their modern destroyers should be able to accommodate helos. You could go there, refuel, an drop off your two passengers, all under the relative safety of their AA net.

Then again, those destroyers were big targets, and you had the sneaking suspicion that the Chinese would focus their efforts on them.

"Radio ahead, Bullseye, we'll link with the destroyers." You say.

"Got it." Bullseye nods and the Ghost Hawk tilts as it banks towards two approaching ships. Already, you can see the twin destroyers, the Asagiri and Yamagiri, belching AA missiles at the approaching Chinese fighters.

Bullseye gets clearance to land on the Asagiri, and he sets down on the rear of the ship. As the ship's crew hooks in a new fuel lie and takes custody of the pilots you rescued, you finally take the chance to look at the dogfight proper.

"Man." Red breathes. "I've seen witches fight, but never in a full on battle like this."

"Yeah, me neither." You nod absentmindedly, unable to take your eyes off the spectacle. It seemed that each of your witches had a very distinct way of fighting.

Jetstream seemed to be a big fan of energy attacks, starting from high altitude and swooping down through enemy formations, her twin Uzis ripping up plane and pilot alike. You see in once such dive she separates a J-8 from its wingman and mercilessly chased it down. The older craft are no match for her modern strikers and she shoots past over the top of the plane, twin streams of tracers shearing both wings off the plane as she goes.

Meanwhile, Euclid stays up high, where she's less likely to be spotted. She's moving much slower since she needs to take time to aim her bow, but every shot is measured and calculated, meaning they hardly miss. Unlike Jetstream, though, Euclid is content with picking off stragglers or planes that stray too far from the main engagement. You see a J-7 manage to shake an F-4 off its tail. Believing that it was in the clear, the J-7 levels out.

That was its first and last mistake.

Euclid's arrow shatters the J-7 like glass. There isn't even an explosion. The sheer kinetic impact was enough to tear the plane the pieces. You wonder just how powerful that bow of hers is.

Tarin, of course, fights very pragmatically. She weaves through the swarm of fighters, carefully picking her targets. She never has to fire more than three shots per plan, drilling through either the engines or cockpit with pinpoint precision. Her process was cold and methodical as she works her way through the Chinese fighters.

And Janice, well, Janice seemed to dance in the air. Her flying consisted of many graceful twists and turns, forcing enemy planes to slow down if they wanted to engage her, where she had the advantage. One J-8 is lured into her trap as she shoots past, presenting what looks to be an easy target. The J-8 slides in behind her but Janice makes a sudden and sharp turn. The J-8 pilot panics and tries to match her maneuver, but only succeeds in stalling his plane and crashing into the water below.

At this point, the Chinese fighters' numbers were beginning to get thinned down. There were barely a dozen of them left, but your own side wasn't faring better. Besides the witches, there was only one F-15 and two F-4s left, the rest either having to disengage or were shot down. Suddenly, there was more rapid Japanese being yelled over the radio.

"Third wave incoming!" Jetstream translates. They're certainly determined today!"

"How many? How long until they get here?"

"Another squadron." Jetstream reports. "It'll be here in two minutes."

"How's everybody's magic?"

"I'm still feeling fit." Janice says.

"Still green." Tarin reports.

"I haven't yet begun to fight!" Jetstream laughs.

"I can still engage the enemy." Euclid states.

"Captain, I'm picking up lots of rescue beacons in the water." Bullseye says.

Up above, you can see the F-15 and F-4s disengage. No doubt they were out of weapons or fuel or both. Four IJN F-14s swoop in to take their place and circle around the destroyers, waiting for the Chinese to arrive.

"Bullseye, get us out there. Hopefully the IJN can keep the Chinese occupied."

"Got it." Bullseye nods and powers up the Ghost Hawk's engines, slowly lifting it off from the Asagiri.

Up above, you can see missiles flares as the F-14s fire off their Phoenix missiles to try and thin out the third wave of fighters. The destroyers also start firing their missiles at a more rapid rate. You're not sure if they hit, or how many planes were downed, but that's not really your concern at the moment. You scan the water's surface for survivors, while Bullseye tries to keep the Ghost Hawk as low as possible to avoid being spotted.

Thankfully, with your helo's stealth functions, the only way the Chinese planes could realistically spot you was to get a visual, and they had a lot more to worry about than a wayward helo.

You manage to pick up two more Japanese pilots and three Chinese pilots, who all chatter in their respective tongues, no doubt thanking you for pulling them out of the water.

"Hey, Captain, come look at this." Hoskins narrows his eyes. "I think I see movement on the horizon."

You shift over the side of the Ghost Hawk and squint. You do spot some shapes moving in. You grab your binoculars for a better look and your stomach drops.

It was a fourth wave of fighters, flying extremely low, almost at your level. They looked like J-8s, though they were carrying heavy duty weaponry. They didn't look like regular air to air missiles, until you realized what was happening.

They were targeting the destroyers!

"Jetstream!" You yell on the radio. "Get on the horn and warn the destroyers they've got anti-ship birds inbound!"

"R-right!" Jetstream stammers, sounding shocked for the first time today.

Behind you, you could see the Asagiri and Yamagiri starting to turn in order to minimize their target profile. Their CIWS systems also started spooling up.

You glance up, and see that it's still your four witches and the four F-14s tangling with about 8 J-8 fighters. You could probably task your witches to try and intercept the anti-ship planes, but then they'd be vulnerable to pursuit. You could always just trust that the IJN ships can handle it, but ships, even if they were destroyers, were extremely valuable, and more importantly, had a LOT of people on them.

"Tarin, Jetstream, intercept those anti-ship birds! Janice, Euclid, make sure to cover them!"

"Affirmative." Tarins says.

"I'll be there in no time!" Jetstream nods.

You see Tarin engage her optical camouflage ability, and she winks out of sight, utterly confusing the J-8 trying to tail her. Jetstream merely peels off from the main dogfight and pumps energy into her strikers, boosting forward faster than any of the Chinese planes could chase.

Now that the new wave was closer, you could see that it was eight more J-8s, loaded down with bulky anti-ship missiles. Jetstream blasts through their formation, shooting one of the planes down and sending it tumbling into the water. However, the rest of the J-8s were unphased and kept going. You suspected that either these pilots were experienced, or knew that they were on a one way trip. Tarin suddenly appears off to the side and fires her M14, downing another J-8.

However, they can't stop the J-8s from unleashing their payloads, and a line of missiles streak out from under their wings. Their payloads delivered, the J-8s begin to peel off. The sky around the Asagiiri and Yamagiri light up with tracers as their CIWS attempts to intercept the missiles.

"Which way do we go, sir?" Tarin asks.

"Go for the missiles!" You yell.

"Roger that." Tarin says.

"Yes sir." Jetstream sighs, as if bummed that she wouldn't be chasing the planes.

Between the two destroyers' combined CIWS as well as Tarin and Jetstream providing fire support, every incoming missile is shot down, though there a couple of them got a lot closer than anybody was comfortable with.

With their plan foiled, the remaining Chinese fighters break off and head for home. The F-14s take some parting shots, but aren't keen on continuing the chase in case there's another trap.

"Control is reporting that the skies are clear." Jetstream announces.

"Nice job, everybody." You grin. "We'll drop off our passengers and we'll be on our way."

"Hey, hey, how many kills did you guys all get?" Red asks.

"Well, let me see...." Janice giggles.

"Do you really need to know that, Red?" You glance at her.

"Hey, why not?" Red shrugs. "Hey, hey, you wanna make a bet on who downed the most?"

"What kind of bet are we talking about here?" You raise an eyebrow.

"How about... loser has to treat us to the most expensive sushi place in Tokyo?" Red grins.

"Unfortunately, I really have no other choice but to vote for Janice, otherwise she might hurt me somehow." You say.

"Man, she's really got you whipped, doesn't she?" Red chuckles.

"I'm just playing it safe." You frown. "Besides, she's a very capable witch."

"Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure Tarin's got her beat in the fighting department." Red grins.

"We'll see about that." You say.

One of the rescued pilots turns his head to Rex and asks something to him in Japanese. Rex just shrugs in response.

"All right! I've counted it up and I got 8 kills from that battle!"

"Four." Euclid says simply.

"Five." Jetstream says.

"Do missiles count?" Tarin asks.

"No, Tarin." You shake your head. "Planes only."

"Oh. Seven, then." She says simply.

"Damn!" Red sighs.

"Well, Red, looks like you'll be putting your pay to good use when we get to Tokyo." You laugh.

"Fiiiine. I'll get you next time, Cap."

"You're welcome to try."

The Ghost Hawk finally lands on the Asagiri again, and all of your rescued pilots are offloaded. The Asagiri crew thanks you by topping off your fuel tank again and giving you a gallon of green tea ice cream. Your witches also temporarily land on the helipad to get some rest. They each get a serving of green tea ice cream, too to get some energy back into them after that grueling dogfight.

"Mmmm, this is delicious!" Janice puts a hand on her cheek after taking in her first spoonful of ice cream. "It's a pity you wouldn't find something like this back home!"

"I kind of prefer chocolate, though..." Tarin frowns.

"Oh, don't be so picky!" Janice tuts. "The crew here is being charitable! It would be rude to refuse."

"Understood." Tarin nods.

"You did a good job out there." You grin as you peck Janice on the cheek. "Also saved me from a huge dinner bill."

"Is our own Captain engaging in gambling?" Janice responds with mock shock. "How naughty of you!"

"Oh, don't worry, I don't mind." Jetstream nods. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something. I think we actually might have used up a bit more magic than intended. I can't speak for your witches, but I don't know if we can reach Tokyo as we are now."

"Can't we hitch a ride with the IJN here?" You gesture the ship you're own.

"Sorry." Jetstream shakes her head. "The Asagiri and Yamagiri's regular patrol sectors are further south. They won't go as far as Tokyo."

"So what does that leave us with?" You ask.

"Well..." Jetstream points towards the shore, where you can see a cluster of buildings. "There's a town just on the shore there. We can stay there for the night and get some rest and continue in the morning. Though, we could just head straight for Tokyo and see what happens. It would certainly be faster."

With your Ghost Hawk freshly fueled and unloaded, Bullseye begins the takeoff sequence once again. The assembled crew on the deck yells some sort of chant and gives you a respectful salute, which you return. The Ghost Hawk then peels off and heads for shore, with your witches following close behind.

As you approach the town, you notice that it looks oddly empty, like a ghost town. There weren't really many people in the streets, and a lot of houses and shops looked to be shuttered and closed up.

"What happened here?" You ask.

"After the Chinese attacked Tokyo, there was widespread fear that the entire coast was vulnerable." Jetstream explains. "Many coastal towns were evacuated, and many more residents left of their own accord. This town is just one of many that were abandoned when the residents fled inland."

"I see." You nod. "Are there going to be any problems getting lodging?"

"There's a hotel here that's still open. Run by some of the most stubborn people I know." Jetstream explains.

"You've been here before?" You ask.

So I get put on an exercise to run support for a sofmed team using some new walkies. I'm literally the only person present that's not either a medical professional or running the exercise. So I just tag along with the team while they do open chest surgery on goats in the middle of the field. They had my slap on some gloves and reach into the exposed cavity and cup the beating heart in my hand. Around this time I heard some thwacking behind me, and the seals back there were using a hatchet to amputate their goat's leg to practice traumatic bleeding control.
Also, during the actual exercise the sergeant major running shit loaned me a set of NVGs and let me join the observers while the seals did some MOUT with simunition.
I saw them faggots get wiped out by an ambush by some psyops nerds in less than a minute, it was fucking hilarious

"This town is actually a popular vacation spot for witches from the Tokyo academies." Jetstream says. "Something of an unofficial badge of honor to be allowed to come here. Traditionally, witches who earn their flight wings come here to celebrate."

"I see." You nod.

"In fact, this would be Euclid's first time here! So everything worked out!" Jetstream laughs.

"Really?" You blinks.

"J-jeez, you didn't have to m-mention that." Euclid mutters, clearly embarrassed.

"Her class was due to graduate this year, but was pressed into service when China attacked."

"So what's so special about this place, anyways?" You ask.

"You don't say?" You respond, trying to keep your voice neutral. While you've never seen a hot spring yourself, you've heard Navy and Marines who were deployed to Asia talk about them quite a bit. From what you understand, it was pretty much a natural version of a hot tub. In Japan, bathing in hot springs was considered a common recreational event.

However, what the Navy and Marine guys mostly talked about was the opportunity to see women naked, since of course you often bathed nude. Bonus points for getting a good look on witches.

"Nice!" Red beams. "I always wanted to see what it was like!"

"Of course you would know about it." You chuckle.

"It's one of the things on my list! Right under the 'eating ALL the sushi' part!" Red nods.

"Hey, Bullseye." You say, turning off your radio momentarily. "Feeling bad you won't get to see Nungesser in the bath?"

"You do realize I'm the one thing keeping us from crashing and dying horribly, right?"

All of you laugh at Bullseye's indignant response before you return to the conversation.

"Don't tell me you had ulterior motives when you suggested coming here." You say to Jetstream.

"Of course not!" Jetstream says very, VERY unconvincingly. "I just happened to remember that the hot springs here are popular among witches because it's said bathing in them boosts your magic power!"

"Well, I guess I can't argue against that." You say, playing along.

You all land on the lawn just in front of the hotel. Since the town was mostly abandoned, you didn't feel there was any danger in leaving the Ghost Hawk where it was. The sky was also clear, so there was no fear of bad weather potentially damaging it. Your witches land nearby and shuck off their strikers, stowing them near your Ghost Hawk and covering them in protective tarps.

At the front door, you see a pair of elderly Japanese, and man and a woman, shuffle out. They bow to Jetstream and the three of them talk in rapid fire Japanese before the elderly couple nods and shuffles back into the hotel.

"They're willing to give us lodging for the night. They haven't had many customers for a while, now." Jetstream nods. "They'll even let us use the hot springs, too."

"So how is that going to work?" You ask.

"The two main springs are segregated by sex, so the men and women will bathe separately."

You note that while Euclid seems to breathe a sigh of relief, the only people that looked genuinely bummed was the flight crew. You could sort of sympathize with that.

"But the pools are still adjacent to each other, so it's not like we wouldn't be able to talk." Jetstream adds."

"I see." You nod.

"But..." Jetstream leans in closer and whispers, so that the others can't hear. "The hotel here does have a few pool for... 'private' use, if you want that sort of thing..."

Jetstream then nudges you playfully as her eyes dart between you and Janice.

"Well, if you really want to find out..." Jetstream sighs, her face losing its usual good cheer. "You know, you're not the only guy who's managed to hook up with a witch...."

"I'm well aware of that." You nod.

"Yes, well, Let's just say that I'm a lot like Janice in that I have somebody I have set my sights on."

"So the two of us remind you of yourself?" Your raise an eyebrow.

"In a way, yes." Jetstream nods and leans back on the wall. "But unlike you, neither of us had the luxury of being put in the same unit. Last I heard, he was stationed all the way up in Kamchatka. I haven't seen him months, actually."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"Oh, don't be. It comes with the job. Both of ours" Jetstream laughs lightly. "But, well, if I see a chance to make another witch and her partner happy, I'll gladly take it."

"I... don't know what to say." You frown.

"A simple 'thank you' will suffice!" Jetstream smiles brightly again and slaps you on the back. "Now go on and get undressed! You can't bathe with all your clothes on!"

You head on over to the mens' changing room, where you see your aircrew has already beaten you there. From what you can tell, they've all gotten into talking about each of their respective romantic partners. Or, more particularly, their breast sizes.

"Eh, whatever." You shrug. "Anyways, I have a sneaking suspicion that the girls might be able to hear us. Just saying."

The rest of the crew just laughs nervously, but they know deep down that you might be right, and that it was in everybody's best interests to stop talking about this subject, at least for now.

You continue undress, stripping yourself out of your combat uniform and folding it up as neatly as you can. You then grab one of the towels and wrap it around yourself. As your crew begins discussing some other topic, you quietly slip out of the changing room and head to the private bath that Jetstream had told you about earlier. It's a small, secluded outdoor pool, open to the elements, which suits you just fine. The night sky looked pretty beautiful out here, far from the big cities.

And it's at that moment you run into Janice. Like you, she's wrapped up in towel, her normally loose hair tied up in a knot, leaving only two bangs hanging. Naturally, the towel does nothing to hide her slim yet curvy figure.

"Oh! Will." Janice smiles a bit awkwardly "S-Should we get in?"

You get the feeling that Janice seems to be nervous or self conscious about her appearance. Now that you think about it, this would be your first time seeing her fully nude.

Goddamnit
>>
>>33100053
I don't think any of the lewdfics for Merc have been canon.
>>
>>33100062
I figured given Janice route actually hapened, there was a chance.

Still, goddamnit. Janice Anal is stoill only theoretical.

Do you want to be the one to explain to father-in-law armstrong why his pool table is stained?
>>
>>33100062
Even though me and lewdbro share notes, none of the lewd fics are technically canon. Really, they are as canon as you want them to be.

Nanomachines, Dad.

My head canon is that they are all canon now, every single lewd fic.

Including the one with the katana.

"Hey, whatever is bothering you, Janice. don't worry about it." You grin. "If you're not comfortable with something just say so."

"Oh, it's nothing, really..." Janice laughs lightly to cover her unease.

Wanting to get things moving, you step into the natural pool, and your skin tingles in a good way as it contacts the warm water. You let out a deep breath as you body basks in the warmth.

"Will."

"Yeah, Janice?" You look up and your eyes widen as she takes off her towel and lets it drop to the floor. Her face was no longer worried or uncertain, now replaced with determination. You see her nude body in all of its glory, with it only slightly obscured by the thin, hazy steam rising from the pool.

"If we're going to be together... I can't be scared anymore." Janice says as she steps into the pool. "I have to be ready to show you everything I have... to give you everything I have."

You just sort of stare at her, wondering where all of this was coming from.

"O-oh gosh, I sounded very silly there, didn't I?" Janice blushes and she puts her hands up to her cheeks. "It sounded so much better in my head-"

Jesus when did Janice get to be so cute? It was such a weird sight... but not a bad one...

So you want to go into a romantic and sexy mode and then ruin it.

Shouldnt it be the other way around?

Slash her, she gets indignant and wails on us abit before it moves to the romantic?

This gentleman right here. I support him. A hug and a kiss first, to let her know she's doing just fine.

Then we can splash her once she's comfortable.

You quickly silence Janice by wrapping your arms her waist and hugging her from behind. She instinctively turns her head to ask you what you're doing, and you take the chance to kiss her while she does so. You can feel Janice's body tense up a bit, but then slowly relax as she settles into your embrace, her own mouth returning the love yours was giving her.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, your lips part.

"Ahhhhh, thank you, Will." Janice chuckles. "I really needed that."

"It seemed like the right thing to do." You grin, still embracing Janice. "What happened?"

"Oh, it's nothing, really. Now that I look back on it, it's really a rather silly reason!" Janice laughs.

Huh, did it have something to do with her past?

You decide to just leave it at that and don't say anything. You finally let Janice go and she settles in next to you, resting her head on your shoulder.

"The stars are really beautiful tonight." Janice muses as she looks up.

"Yeah, they are." You nod. "But not as beautiful as you."

"Oh, stop!" Janice giggles at your corny compliment.

"Hey, you walked right into that one."

"Maybe I did..." Janice then gets a mischievous smile. "But I sense that you're not exactly playing fair."

"Huh?" You blink.

With one powerful motion, Janice grabs your towel and yanks it off. Now both of your "assets" were exposed for the both of you to see.

"Oh my." Janice's face turns full crimson. "It's... certainly impressive."

"I could say the same for you." You laugh nervously.

Suddenly, the silence is pierced by a very loud scream. But it was a scream of fear or pain. No, you knew this from the countless times you've gotten into scuffles with Bree. It was a scream of anger and indignation.

You don't really need to think too hard on what happened.

"Should we do something about that?" Janice asks.

"Nah, we'll leave them to sort it out." You smile, running your fingers through her hair. "We've only got tonight to enjoy this."

"Mmmmm, you're right." Janice smiles and kisses you again.

>And that's it for tonight! Unfortunately, I won't be running next week due to 4th of July weekend! However, we'll be back to the normal schedule the week after!
>However, I'm planning on maybe running a preview quest next Sunday since that should be relatively free. Stay tuned on twitter for more info!
