>Day 2, Morning 1

...My face hurts.

I open my eyes, glare of morning light bursting through the window.

...It's my ceiling, and I'm in my bed.

Last night flashes through my memory. The school. That student who created- no, summoned- dogs. Mom showing up with that card.

... I need to talk with her.

My door creaks open as I sit up, and-

In walks a young woman bearing striking resemblance to my adoptive mother. A cousin of mom's, who's been hired on as a maid along with her sister, Liz. They've has been staying with us for the last few years, taking care of the house and my little sister while the old man and mom are out doing... Whatever it is they do.

"Ah, 'master' Shirou." Sella says, annoyance at the term obvious in her voice. "Lady Irisveil was wondering about when you'd wake up. She wants to have a 'family meeting', excluding lady Ilyasveil."

...So mom's enforcing that again. Great.

I sigh, nodding and sliding my legs off the bed.

" I guess she made an excuse about school today?"I say, stretching.

Sella shakes her head.

"No. We received a call that it was canceled due to a break-in, and that it was being investigated."

...Huh.

"Alright, then." I say, shaking my head."Would you tell her that I'll be down in a minute."

Sella nods, then leaves the room. Time to get ready to go see what's up...

....

After a few minutes of getting somewhat ready, I head downstairs, to the living room. Mom's sitting in her chair, looking incredibly cheerful. Sella and Liz are seated on the couch, the former annoyed, and the latter... Bored.

"So, Shirouling." Mom says, looking at me, then gesturing to the empty space between Sella and Liz.
"We all really need to have a talk about last night."

I nod, and take a seat in the other chair.

There's so much to ask about... I start with-

>"Magus"?

>Card?
>Magus?

I nod to myself.

"Alright. What's the card? Why did my clothes change?" I ask, looking at mom.

She pauses, holding her finger to her chin in thought.

"Wellllllll...." She starts, in the tone I know too well... Sella sighs, and shakes her head. "I found that 'blank' card a while ago, when investigating some disturbances around town."

"So, after examining it, I decided to try and adapt it for use." She shrugs. "I would have preferred to let Sella or Liz use it, but since you were in trouble..."

"Lady Irisviel... You know that you could have stopped that without issue, and kept Shirou from being involved in all of this..." Sella sighs.

...Sella knows about these things, too? I blink.

Mom just shrugs, and smiles innocently.

"Well, Shirouling is a growing boy. This will be good for him, and Kerry and I were planning on teaching him some things, anyway, if he kept on the way he was going." She says. "And if I just stepped in and solved the problem, he'd never learn anything, would he? Besides, it's one more person keeping an eye on Ilya, isn't it?"

...Sella seems to be thinking for a moment...

I cough.

"So, what is it?" I ask. "You explained how you got it, but not what it does."

Mom's expression brightens.

"Ah, yes. It's... Somewhat related to my family's ancestral Magic." She says. "Basically, it reaches out of the world, and latches onto a 'Unique Existence', then draws on the power of it. What 'Installing' does is temporarily overwrite your power and body with that power."

"...Unique existence?"

"A legendary soul. Like King Arthur, or, oh.... Miyamoto Musashi? Someone who's deeds can't be recreated by normal people, who's story is known to the world."
(1/2)
>>
>>33210370
(2/2)

I nod. That's good enough for me. Though I still have a nagging feeling that something is off... I shake my head and continue.
"Then... Magus? What does that mean?"

"Ah... Kerry and I can use magic." Mom says, nodding. "Well, magecraft, but since you're completely new to this...It's close enough."
...I want to say I'm stunned, but... I can't really be all that surprised. I knew something was odd about my adoptive parents...

"I'm guessing there's a reason I wasn't told? Does Ilya know?" I ask, rubbing my forehead, and she nods again.

"Magic is to be kept secret from normal people. There's only so much that the knowledge can be spread." She says. "Ilya doesn't know, anyway, and her finding out would be... Bad. Which is part of the reason I wanted you to know."

...I nod. Since she didn't say anything specific, I don't think she'll tell me, so...

Was there anything else I needed to ask about...?

>Write in
>>
>>33210395
Then, what was that black dog?
Also, where did this card come from, you said you just found one?
>>
>>33210543
These work really well, might as well ask them.
>>
>>33210395
So what am I supposed to do now? You said that magic is supposed to be kept a secret from normal people, so I guess I'm not normal anymore.
>>
>Black dog
>You just found one?

"What were the dogs?" I ask, remembering that part of last night. "They weren't anywhere near normal."

...I realize I'm not feeling the pain I'd expect from those wounds. Reaching down, I feel my leg, finding-

...Absolutely nothing. No marks, no pain...

"Sella and I patched you up. We both possess some healing magecraft, and it was better than letting you bleed out." Mom seems to notice my shock, and nods.

"As for the dogs... I think they were a part of that boy's 'self'." She continues, rubbing her chin in thought. "Either magecraft, or something more powerful..."

"Anyway. They're parts of that student, as you saw when hurting them harmed him." She shakes her head. "That's all I can tell at the moment."

I rub my forehead.

"Two more things, then. Where did the card come from? And what am I supposed to do now, since I'm not 'normal' anymore?" I ask, letting out a sigh.

"The card.... I don't know where it's from. It was near an abnormality in the mana flow around town, that I took care of. " Mom shakes her head. "As for what you'll do... Help keep the magic things around Fuyuki in check? The town's caretaker is out of the country for the near future, and since I'm going back to work with Kerry for a while..."

...Protect... Fuyuki?

Without a second thought, I nod.

"Absolutely." I say. "What all do I get to work with? This card and whatever I can manage?"

Mom chuckles.

"I knew you'd say that. Sella, Liz... Please help him out if he needs it." She says, getting nods from the two.

"Anyway, one more thing. I'm embeded a spell on your hand, to draw in and convert mana to prana, since you have no practice with it, and it's faster than teaching you all at once." She continues, and I look at both hands. Nothing.

(1/2)
>>
>>33212197
(2/2)

"Oh, don't be silly. It's not visible when it's not working." Mom seems to have expected that. "Anyway, do what you did when you activated the Class Card. Visualize whatever you did, and let it trigger. I included a couple of basic spells in it, as an additional precaution."

She looks at the clock, and seems somewhat surprised.

"Oh, it looks like I need to go, or I'll miss my plane. Bye Shirouling, Sella, Liz~" She says, standing up and waving quickly.

....Within moments, she's out the door, luggage in hand. I can hear the screech of her driving fading into the distance.

Of course she scheduled things that tight...

...There's an awkward silence as I look over at Sella, who's somewhat stunned looking, still. Liz seems unconcerned, as normal...

....

Does this Shirou have any friends other than Issei and Shinji? Because I don't want to hang out with Shinji, and Issei is honestly pretty boring when he isn't crushing on Shirou.

>Try and talk with Sella

I sigh.

"Sella, is something wrong?" I ask catching her attention as Liz yawns and leans back.

...She's asleep again.

"Oh, I'm just surprised by Lady Irisviel cutting it so close." Sella shakes her head."Though I shouldn't be..."

I nod. Mom has that tendency...

"Yeah, she really does..." I say, looking to the door. "So... You know 'magecraft'?"

"Yes. Liz and I are... Well, I'm a magecraft specialist, while she's combat." She nods.

"Then... What can you tell me? I mean, mom only said 'a couple of basic spells', so... What are they?"

There's a pause, as Sella glances at my right hand.

"Hm... Lady Irisviel requested that I impart knowledge of 'Reinforcement', a limited form of our 'wishcraft', and a minor hypnosis spell, if you need to eliminate someone's memory of a conflict." She says, nodding. "The Wishcraft is nothing special. Adjusting the odds slightly in your favor on small things"

"...Hypnosis?" I ask. "Do I really need to....?"

She nods again.

"Far better than killing them, don't you think?" She asks.

...That... Is true enough.

I thank her for the information, and rub the bridge of my nose.

>Head on out to meet a friend

I sigh, walking out the front door. May as well see if anyone's got time to kill.

Flipping out my phone, I page through the few contacts I have... Shinji...Ayaka... Issei... Ayako... Gai...

Hm. Of those... I guess Gai or Ayako are the most likely to be able and willing to meet up with me, I think. Since that argument with Shinji... Well...

A text message to each has Gai's response be rather excitedly wanting to talk with me about last night's TV with me, while Ayako is willing to meet and chat a bit about archery, and the old days.

I immediately reply to Ayako's willingness to talk with a question of 'where'.

A few minutes of hurried messaging later, and we agree on a common meeting ground for students- Ahnenerbe, a cafe near the bridge.

After a nice walk to get there, I find myself waiting a few minutes as the two waitresses run around, serving other customers their lunches and drinks.

Finally, Ayako shows up, dressed in fairly casual clothes.

I wave her over to my table, and she sits down fairly quickly, placing her own order with one of the waitresses.

...There's a brief silence as we both look around the crowd...

"So, Shirou. What did you want to talk about?" Ayako asks, glancing over at me.

>How's archery these days?
>How's Sakura, and is Shinji less of a dick?

"How's archery club been since I left?" I ask, shaking my head. "Well, last time I asked, I mean."

"We never really got back on our game from losing you." She shakes her head. "You sure you don't wanna rejoin?"

Her expression turns hopeful, and I shrug.

"I still have that scar on my arm, though." I say. "And I've got more time to help people out, if I don't rejoin."

"Yeah. You're way too nice, y'know?" She sighs, then her tone goes half-joking. "Quit helping everyone out, and help us for a bit, would you?"

"Alright. I'll drop by if I have a chance." I chuckle a bit, but nod.

There's a brief silence, as our drinks get brought by...

"Hm... Has Shinji shaped up yet?" I ask.

Ayako's expression is all I need to know the answer.

"Then, uh... Is Sakura at least doing alright?" I shake my head sadly. If he's still being an ass to others, then...

"Yeah. She's actually getting pretty good, and could probably be considered a contender for your empty throne." She nods. "And I don't think she's been having any trouble, otherwise."

I sigh in relief.

"Well, that's good to hear. "

We lapse into silence again, for a while...

"So... Why'd you call me out here, really?"Ayako asks, after a couple of minutes of watching the crowd. Her tone turns teasing, and her eyes glint. "Do you want to help me win that bet with Tohsaka?"

>What bet?

"....Bet?" I ask, looking at her curiously. "Is this about getting me to join the club again?"

She blinks.
"No, no! Nothing like that! " She says, waving her hands and blushing. "Just, uh, forget I said anything, alright?"

Huh?

I shrug, and nod.

"Anyway, what I was actually going to ask you about is... Have you noticed anything strange around town lately?" I say after a moment. "Like, odd animals running around, or anything 'off'?"

She shakes her head after a minute in thought.

"No, not really. Something happening that you're worried about?" She asks. "

I pause.

...I can't tell her what happened last night. She's 'normal', and cannot be let know...

"No, not really. I saw a couple of odd dogs in the park last night, and figured I'd ask if you had seen anything..." I trail off. "And, well... Since Shinji and I aren't getting along very well, Ayaka's shut in with her books, Issei probably found something to do at the temple, and Gai is... Gai...."

"You thought I'd be the best person to ask, right?" She nods. "Yeah, sorry, but... I've got nothing."

"Ah, well." I shrug. "Let me know if you see anything, okay?"

"Sure thing. And, uh... Don't mention that bet to anyone, would you?" She flushes briefly, and I nod.

...We spend a bit longer talking about random goings-on, and then part ways after we finish up.

Don't the have a fe members (Zelretch, Barthomeloi Lorelei, and Gazamy the Wraith) that casually stomp everything?
>>
>>33229778
Bazzett was from a family that no longer needed to use crests, instead they could pass it down to all of their heirs.
Therefore unlike 99% of Magus families they could research much faster than normal magi.
Therefore, they are potentially one of the most powerful individual families.
>>
>>33229853
Zelretch isn't aligned to the clock tower.

Gazamy is considered a magical disaster, but could only effect Caster (F/SN) up to a certain extent.

Lorelei is absurd, but her magic is exceedingly basic.
>>
>>33229868
>no longer needed to use crests
The Fraga's ability to create Fragarach has nothing to do with crests at all. It's their family's sorcery trait.
>>
>>33229942
SHirou must troll them into oblivion then.
>>
>>33229942
>Her family possesses a Sorcery Trait known as Traditional Carriers – God’s Holders, which allows them to pass on their abilities through bloodline rather than teachings.
Not just Fragarach, every single spell, every single piece of research.
Imagine the power of that when one's power is measured by their magical research, and their family's lifeline.
>>
>>33229928
What is Gazamy? I tried looking it up, and found jack shit. Just that it's a disaster.
>>
>>33229942
Fragarach only works in certain situations, most notably brought about by her servant, Avenger.
However, Bazzett on her own, is not capable of doing such.
>>
>>33230012
Gazamy's powers have something to do with his magical attribute, which is troublesome to magi, more than anything else recorded.
Otherwise, Gazamy is mentioned a little in Fate/Complete Material III, but that is it.
>>
>>33230003
This is what I'm looking at right now.
>Fraga clan: Gods Holder (aka Tradition Carrier) – A special quality found in the old blood of this family, remains of a mystery of the Age of Gods in the form of a virus. Not an hereditary trait carried in the genes, but rather a pathogen that has been transmitted throughout the generations. Allows the recreation and use of the Noble Phantasm Fragarach.

>>33230017
While I'm aware that Fragarach requires the enemy to use their strongest attack/ability I don't see what that has to do with my post.
>>
>>33230012
There's very little information available. All we really know is that it's particularly dangerous to magi - possibly to the point it'd be a threat to a Caster class servant.
>>
>>33230066
And this is what I'm looking at right now.
http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Bazett_Fraga_McRemitz
>Bazett is a specialist in physical combat and employs runic sorcery on her limbs, hands, and feet to increase her fighting potential. She is also a skilled mage overall. Her family possesses a Sorcery Trait known as Traditional Carriers – God’s Holders, which allows them to pass on their abilities through bloodline rather than teachings. She is the current holder of Fragarach.

>Sella, magic

I nod to myself and start on my way home. Better learn what I can before I screw up with my new 'magecraft'.

The walk home is fairly quick, and uneventful.

Walking into the living room, I see Liz lounging on the couch, watching some anime on the TV, and Sella in the kitchen, probably preparing some things in advance, for dinner...

"Hey, uh..." I start, approaching the kitchen and glancing around. "If you have a bit, would you mind giving me a rundown on how to use this thing?"

I wave the hand that was indicated to have that spell on it, and she nods.

"Give me a few minutes, and certainly." She says. "But since lady Ilyasviel is likely to return soon... It would be best to have this lesson be in one of our rooms."

I nod.

"Makes sense. Mine is clear enough, if we need floor space." I say, turning to the stairs. "Let me know when you're ready."

Heading up, I head into my room and flop down on the bed. Nothing to do until she gets up here, since I need her to teach me more about this...

....

When Sella finally does get up here, I sit up, and pay attention as she takes my desk's chair.

"Alright. The first thing you need to do is activate that spell." She says, nodding at my hand. "Do... Whatever you did last night, when you used that card."

I hold up my hand, looking at it, and-

Trigger the same feeling as last night.

My hand burns, as a series of crimson lines form across the back of it, in an elaborate pattern.

The very air in the room feels less... 'alive', and 'full'.

She nods, apparently approving.

"Very good. Now I'm going to put you through your paces with these exercises..."

After about an hour or so of practice, I'm feeling sweaty, tired, and like my arm is filled with blades. Sella seems satisfied with my progress, too, and agrees to end it for today. .

"That was extremely good for someone with no experience." She says as we walk down the stairs.

...I hear a thud from the living room, and look around the corner of the stairs.

...Ilya's in the living room, with Liz, and seems to have dropped one of her schoolbooks on the floor.

Her expression seems half dead, half-outraged.

"Well, I think it's about time to get started on dinner." Sella says, shaking her head and walking into the kitchen. "I suppose you could assist, if you'll stay out of the way..."

>19

I nod.

"That should help me relax."I say, nodding and joining Sella in the kitchen. "Thanks for letting me help out."

The two of us set to work. Evidently, what she had been preparing earlier was a soup, that needed time to simmer, and I was assigned basic tasks for preparing the side dishes and seasoning of the main course.

After a time of simmering and mixing together the sauce, I move on to cutting the side vegetables, as Sella pulls the main roast from the oven and lets it set, mixing a quick batch of bread and readying it for the now empty oven.

As she worries over the main course, I finish preparing the vegetables, using a more Japanese style of seasoning than the rest of the courses, and carefully ensure their cooking is complete.

We finally finish everything, and set about pouring the carefully prepared sauces on each part of the meal, and garnishing appropriately.

When everything is finally done, we place the meal on the table, and call over Liz and Ilya.

Both sit down with sparkles in their eyes, practically drooling over the food. Though Ilya seems to have a somewhat hurt expression....

Flavors blend perfectly, drawing out the best parts of each dish and mixing together.

>Day 2- Night

...After dinner is over, Liz moves to clean up the kitchen with Sella, and I'm a glare that reminds me of the last time I tried to assist in that...

Ilya heads up to her room, leaving you alone in the living room, still somewhat tired from the magic practice earlier.

Hm...

>Go talk to Ilya

I shake my head, walking upstairs. Better see what has Ilya so upset.

Knocking on her door, I hear a muffled "Go away" from inside.

I sigh.

"Ilya. It's me." I say, leaning against the door. "Is something wrong?"

There's another muffled sentence, and I think it's enough.

Cracking open the door, I step in. The shelves are covered in pink toys, and dvd cases. I can see a few games laying around, too.

Ilya's on her bed, face buried in her pillows.

"Really, what is it, Ilya?" I ask, looking at her.

She rolls over, hugging a pillow tightly.

"Don wanna talk 'bout it." She says.

I give her a look, and she sighs.

"Big bro, what were you doing with Sella this afternoon?" She seems to pout. "'cause Liz said..."

...I can't tell her what I was really doing... But...

"She was helping me get some practice being a hero." I say, nodding.

The top half of her face remains impassive, and I can tell she doesn't buy it.

"Alright, alright. Mom suggested I get a new hobby, so Sella and I were playing card games." I wave my hands. "Really."

Ilya looks at me for a few seconds, then sighs.

"Okay, big bro." She says, shaking her head. "Would you turn off the light when you leave?"

"Sure thing. Good night, Ilya." I nod, giving her a smile.

Stepping out of the room, I flick the light switch down, and close the door with a click.

....Seems like it's late enough I should go get some rest...

I head to my room and get ready for bed, falling asleep fairly quickly.

...

>Interlude

>Day 2- Night-???

The sidewalk is quiet, and fairly deserted as I walk along it. Man... People sure are staying inside these days, aren't they?

Well.. It's all due to that dog-breath being an idiot. If he hadn't kept acting so recklessly, we'd be having an easier time, wouldn't we?

'course, if that bitch would just learn to use her power for us, we wouldn't even have any issues like that. And dog-breath's last goof got us both some time to do some hunting, too.

I shake my head, shifting my jacket as I start to cut through park.

...There's a rustle in the bushes nearby, and I can hear some soft moans from behind a tree.

So, a couple, doing something, huh? They'll do.

I reach inside of myself, latching onto that power, and throw my arm out.

The black chain I so often use extends, lashing through the bushes and wrapping around at least two things. I can hear two screams of fear, and grin.

"Y'two should know better than to be out this late at night," I laugh, pulling the chain back as their noise changes to that of pain. "Guess I'll teach you something you won't ever forget."

Their screaming continues into the empty park as I 'work my magic', and I drag their bodies out of the way of the rest of the world.

This Shirou is... Well, not as heavily screwed up as canon Shirou. There was a fire, and there was memory loss, but there wasn't enough damage to require anything more than magecraft-type healing.

So he's not a Sword, but certainly does have an affinity with them.

UBW is strictly off-limits to him, without access to a Class Card with the suitable template.

Plus side? He's got a better magecraft teacher, and a (weak/small) crest.

>>33238642
Well, Shirou has Class Cards, that helps, right? He could install Archer and use his UBWs or something.
>>
>>33238497
We can still do Ilya route without loving her romantically, man. She's worth it!
>>
>>33238686
Then just be her brother. Goddamn.
>>33238668
Yeah but why does shirou still want to be a hero. He seem to be as crazy as his F/SN counterpart.
>>
>>33238345
>Probably no on Ilya route. Because Shirou wouldn't consider it,since he sees her as a little sister.
Girl's got determination. The main obstacle for her is less "but she's my (non-blood-related) sister" and more Shirou being shounen protagonist-tier dense in the arena of romance (and, uh, most others, too).
>>
>>33238737
>Then just be her brother. Goddamn.
That's what I meant. There's being her brother part-time and being her brother FULL-TIME.
>>
>>33238737
Kerry told him all about being a hero, that one day he was drunk... that was enough for Shirou. Or maybe it has to do with why Shirou was adopted by Kerry in this timeline.

>>33238686
You have opened my eyes anon, we have to protect her smile!
>>
>>33238686
Eh. No Route other than Hero. There people that need to be Saved.
>>
>>33238345
Does that mean no Tracing? That normally relies on UBW, but could we learn how to do it by some other means: i.e. structural analysis variants, extensive research?
>>
>>33239103
Shirou was taught the proper way to do proejction or the normal way. If he doesn't know right now, he be taught like that.

Shirou will take Gradation Air/Projection over his canonical style of tracing with the 7 steps.
>>
>>33239147
There's absolutely no reason for that to be the case. Projection/Gradation Air is absolutely worthless. Even if Shirou is taught the normal way, he'll have to develop something superior (i.e. Tracing) in order to make good use of it.

Can we even use normal magecraft in this universe? The crest is different, of course, but are we still limited to Sword-based magic?
>>
>>33239195
No. Shirou don't got UBW at all.

Projection/Gradation Air is shit tier to Tracing. We only got cards and...that it. We only started to learn Magic. It horribly late on a magus development if he starts right now.

There consenquences on not using your circuits until your a fully grown adult. Circuits deteriotate if you don't use them.
>>
>>33239233
But the Caster card means we an use his Tracing/Projection methods and his UBW so I don't feel that it's so bad right now.

Sure Shirou won't be a good mage by himself, but he makes it up by having the powers of others heroes and their cards.
>>
>>33239233
Yes, I'm quite aware of this. The thing is, if his Origin and Element are both sword, then it doesn't matter if he has UBW or not, he doesn't have the potential to learn real magecraft.

>>33239478
He's not a good mage at the moment, no, but it's ridiculous to just accept that. The cards are a plot device, and will likely be lost to us at some point (not to mention likely vanishing once whatever is happening ends). Shirou has to consider his future, and he'll need abilities of his own to be a hero when the cards aren't around.

Dependencies are made to be abused. We need to get rid of such as fast as possible.
>>
>>33239549
Well, the general idea should be to use the cards to have Shirou learn from them, something like if the practicing Projection (Trace.ver) from it, he can learn to do it eventually.

Plus I am sure that Shirou's teacher might have a way to help him with his circuit problems. Maybe they can use alchemy to restore them?
>>
>>33239549
>if his Origin and Element are both sword, then it doesn't matter if he has UBW or not, he doesn't have the potential to learn real magecraft
No. It just means he'd have to work his ass off to be passable at it.

I really want to find out what his Origin & Element are in this though considering how much that tends to influence things.
>>
>>33239913
His element is probably something close to Sword, like Metal, but his Origin... well that one is not that important unless it get's activated or something, but maybe something like Hope or Reload-Discard and Draw, might suit him.
>>
>>33239955
Does shirou remember his past before the fire? If so, he may have been saved by Avalon. His origin may still be Sword.
>>
>>33240007
Well it depends on what his backstory is this time, but hey, maybe this Shirou could learn magic other than making swords and not suck in the other general areas. I bet healing magic might be useful in the future.
>>
>>33240031
Yeah but Shirou learning magic normally isn't that good. He be as good as any other weak magus.

Shirou UBW allow him to punch way up his weight class, giving him weapons for each situation.

Shirou as a normal magus is pathetic. Shirou Father was a normal magus and was pathetic. He only had an incomplete crest and his bones.

Unless you want Shirou to become like his father, we can always be the next Magus killer.
>>
>>33238786
Question. How the fuck does Shirou got a crest if he was adopted?
>>
>>33240084
Well remember that Shirou with UBW is an extreme rare case, and is a specialist that can only do one thing, but in this case this Shirou might no be like that, he might be a mage that has other talents.

Hell consider the alchemy that Iri knows, maybe this Shirou could learn to use it and might be able to manipulate metal to battle. Maybe he can make a metal spider tank that he can use to hunt people or something with alchemy.

>>33240106
Well he doesn't, this Shirou only has that weird fake crest in his right hand, and I think it might really be something like a command seal that Iri made up before hand to use the Cards, who knows.
>>
>>33238586
So far, I'm not thrilled. This seems to be pretty basic Fate, but with the Clow Cards" of Prisma Illya. There's nothing particularly dramatic or involving right now for me as a reader. The villains seem suitably nasty, but without any further personalities or development, they seem blandly malicious evildoers for our blandly nice protagonist to eventually vanquish.

People reading this quest already know The Nasuverse, including F/SN, F/Z and Prisma Illya. All of the characters are copied exactly from these sources. A little unexpected twist (e.g. Rin has Gilgamesh as a servant, Shinji & Kotomine are allies, etc) would liven this up a lot.
>>
Yeah. Heroic Liner....I got a great idea to spice up the quest.

Make Shirou an Liner from Notes.
>>
>>33240155
>>33240106
Creating a magic crest isn't that tough. The reason they're so limited in distribution is because only 1 can contain the family's entire history. Something with three or four spells on it isn't hard to create, I'd assume. It just costs a few circuits.

The transplant, however, isn't as easy. The chance of rejection in non-relatives is high, although not absolute. Furthermore, he's quite old for it.

It seems like more than a command seal though, seeing as it has spells in it. I'd guess that it is a magic crest made my some unusual means. Perhaps Homunculi are universal donors? Or maybe Alchemy or Wishcraft makes this more flexible.

>>33240312
It does seem a little thin for the moment, doesn't it? I'm sure it will get more interesting as it goes, but Shirou needs something more compelling to kick him into gear. Rin might help, as would the Holy Grail War (or whatever is going on) as it develops.

We'll see, I guess, but I'm sure Goldenmoon will figure something out.
>>
>>33240410
Well, my own theory is that this crest was made using information that Iri got from the cards or something. Maybe the design and info for the crest really came from those guys who made the cards in Prisma Illya and Iri just used the info with some circuits to give Shirou a fake crest so he can install the cards.
>>
>>33240470
Maybe, but that doesn't explain the Wishcraft on it. That's a Einzbern specialty, and its presence indicates that some of her own magecraft was worked into the crest.

You could be right, but it seems a bit more complex than just card-magic.

Also, why is EMIYA's card Caster? Even in Prisma Illya he was Archer. Maybe it's a different version of Shirou?
>>
>>33240562
Well so far we have to wait on what the crest is, but maybe Iri modified the card-magic as you said, or maybe the wishcraft trait is something that was inclused because she used the circuits from an Einzbern homunculus?

Well why the EMIYA Card is caster? Maybe it's because Iri just found the Caster card, so when Shirou searched for a compatible hero to introduce into the card, EMIYA got shoved into that container, as I think he could easily fit into the Caster mold too. That being said, I wouldn't discard him being a different Shirou too.

I don't want to seem too hard on OP - he's done a number of quests around here, and that means there's some practice at this. It's just, for now, it feels like we're just beating around the bush. Not to say this can't be good, just, as of now, I'm just not feeling it.

MFW this is all part of OP's plan, and this false sense of security gets turned on us cruelly
>>
>>33240654
I suppose that makes sense, after all, no one can be more compatible than yourself, right? It just seemed odd, as Shirou was always a Magic User, not a proper Magus. He didn't have the mindset for it. I guess he probably still qualifies as a Caster though.

I wonder if every card we find is going to be a different Shirou? EMIYA isn't the only version that reached the throne, so it's theoretically possible. Probably not likely, however. Would be pretty crazy.
>>
>>33240793
I don't know sure having an army of Shirous might sound fun, but I would prefer if Shirou had different heroes in his card, something like having Sigfried as his Saber or Zero Rider as a card.

If he uses Zero Rider I hope that instead of summoning an army of hero, Shirou summons an army of sword people... aka walking and talking swords, just because!
Just ignore this...
>>
>>33240843
Stay Night Rider might be pretty cool. All those sword-nails being hurled around and all.

I'm really hoping that we get Stay Night (Fake) Assassin though. Tsubame Gaeshi is just too awesome.

Probably not possible, seeing as he is fictional, but I can still hope.

>>33239103

>>33239195

You certainly have tracing. Technically.

The card you currently possess is templated off an alternative Shirou, and as we all know, there's some 'bleed' involved in that sort of thing, so developing similar abilities without use of it is a possibility....

>>33239233

Entirely true. And yet, there's a good-sized amount of Wishcraft being thrown around, along with plain old cheating.

>>33239913
>>33239955
>>33240007
>>33240031

Normal magic is possible. Origin and Element are not both Sword. Metal is an accurate guess on the latter, but the former is a secret.

>>33240106
>>33240155
>>33240410
Alchemy+Wishcraft, along with Iri subtly preparing him over the years.

Still, this one is closer to a Command Seal, and is there as a stopgap so Shirou can learn the spells. It'll deteriorate in time, due to all the factors involved.

Wishcraft is to try and hold things together, using the same general 'Do this one thing' of a Command Seal.

>>33240562>>33240654
>>33240793

Not EMIYA. Emiya. Subtle difference.
So, yes, it's a different version of Shirou.

So the cards we have are difererent from the Prisma Cards? Or are they empty cards that you need to fill with heroes? Hell is this world the Prisma World?
>>
>>33241279
In a word? Yes. They're different from the Prisma cards.

The world... Is very similar to the Prisma world. No Grail War got off the ground 10 years ago, which is why Iri and Kerry are still around, and Ilya/Sella/Liz are in Fuyuki.
>>

>Origin and Element are not both Sword. Metal is an accurate guess on the latter, but the former is a secret.

Wait. So unlike Kaleid, the 4th HGW didn't happen?

Prisma's was shut down, IIRC.

That's why Iri and Kerry are alive.
>>
>>33247323

OP said as much upthread.
