16th day of prophecy, atop the mountain shrine of the holy dragon Orochi, Northern Zipangu.

‘’You wish for me to provoke this villain? Pardon my scepticism, queen, but what is it that make you certain of her ploys?’’

Gil Rosario wasn’t easily roped into a person charisma or dread; while still friendly to our cause he kept his hand close to his weapon while peering into the glowering golden orbs of Ame-no-Uzume who puffed her chest proudly, sentiments seemingly warping into a comical display of pride as she huffed gently, letting out a strange billow of blue flame out of her mouth.

‘’Did you know that Cadhla had a little sister, King? No? Then understand that almost all of these ghosts share your ignorance. I met with her often as a kid, adolescent and adult – a friend she is, even if distant and she often talked about your country, the heavy snow and the smile of the people, their unyielding spirits and hunger for life but she also told me much about her sisters, the Yukionnas are entity as old as Kitsune yet native to Gwynedd as far as I understand. She was closes to these women, too, spoke with warmth and fondness along with the glint of sad nostalgia’’

She stopped momentarily, gaze forlorn, mind somewhere else, caught in old souvenir of her early life, I saw her grasp the fur of her tails as she momentarily glanced to the matron; a dangerous flash of enmity nearly prompted me to speak up but this queen know patience

«If you ever meet Jedina, please steer yourself from her path, little fluff alright? She’s…well, you’ll understand if you meet her»

Her tone was heavy, a perfect paraphrase of a sentence that must have been heard long ago projected a heavy mood inside us brothers but the queen pursued, extending her hand forward to let out another will-o-wisp, the tiny ball of flaming magic turning on itself as it floated in the air.

‘’My mother told me she was exiled from her homeland long ago and recently went back in Gwynedd after the purge, only to leave again with unmistakable sadness. Jedina was the only name she warned me about, the only name that held a hint of contempt; she wronged a friend of mine, she wronged my husband. My authority, honor and blood as a queen boil at the mere sight of this villain – as you’ve so generously put it, King – thinking she’d lead monster unto her selfish catastrophe of an ambition’’

Dammit, just dammit, that woman was one of the four seals of Machitehew, Ame doesn’t know about her recent demise but... now at least, I understand a little more why we’ve spent some precious time back at that open air bath.

‘’I see’’

While I swallowed my displeasure and ignored the murderous glare of the cold women by concentrating on the blue will-o-wisps keeping our discussions silent, Gil spoke with grim brevity, just about ready to turn back toward the Yukionna.

‘’I can’t accept her proposition, for not only will I lose face and backstab a friend but invite future trouble in my realm; you’ve obviously got some stratagem in mind, how should I refuse her?’’

His fluffy interlocutor let out a satisfied, proud «Fufu» while cradling her chin, prompting me to grasp and tug at one of her fluffy tails, caused her equally soft ears to straighten up fast as she immediately protested in a small concert of canine grunts.

‘’I mean… I mean’’

She recouped her grace fast while launching a murderous sideway glance my way which I obviously met with a shrug my shoulders, who care about proper diplomacy anyway?

‘’Ahem! Categorical refusal, try and provoke her to anger, I’ll step forward myself if she admit one little word I’m waiting for…’’

‘’Hmm’’

A thoughtful remark from Gil no doubt; big brother attention came to me and I straightened myself as best I could, taking in the fresh, cold air of the mountaintop in my lungs.

‘’What's your opinion, brother?’’

The first thing that came to mind would be insulting her ancestors but that’s uncouth for royals trying their very best to appear chivalrous; think, Siegfried, what course of actions could piss off this dead lump of near ethereal ice enough to admit rebellion? No doubt I could simply let Gil go without support; this is still an opportunity to help family.

>What should be done?

I wonder if Jedina has been leaking any information to the crusade or Deruella and if there's any connections we could make to her. Too bad we don't have Daiyu with us to see if she's charmed.

While you may have your suspicions you don't have any proofs either.

>>33233057
When she inevitably demands our head, mention that her demand is impossible because we are going to be marrying the queen. The thought that The Butcher will be in such a position of power, however indirect, will undoubtedly send her into a frothing rage and rebel on the spot.
>>
>>33233057
We could insinuate that Jedina is unfit to rule, her judgment is compromised and she can't think of what is best for the yukionna versus her own ambitions.
Maybe insinuate that she is only taking advantage of the current situation for her own ambitions.
>>
>>33233276
Gil needs to refuse her current demands, not refuse something that she hasn't even asked.
He needs to use the current demands to get Jedina to openly advocate opposition to House Rosario.

>>33233337

Remember that this is an advice to your big brother, unless you'd actually like to talk with the matron?
>>
>>33233298
Yeah, that could work. Maybe openly addressing the other ice ladies while at it, asking if they think Jedina has their best interests in mind and how their previous leader would view her actions.
>>
>>33233363
I meant to put it to Gil, not talk ourselves.
The problem is balancing the incitement to make Jedina lose her cool without making all of the yukionna immediately want to attack us.
>>
>>33233437

I think the general opinion is to try and strike a bit of a balance. >>33233298 This option seem to be the only one with support, so I'll be going forward with this, and sneak in the others propositions if I can, at the very least it's clear you guys don't want to talk with the onnas yet.é

>>33233057
So we need pressure points it would seem. Siggy himself seems to be a big one, the house that currently owns the forest she wants for herself could also function as one. She does seem rather fanatical and prone to emotional outbursts.

Perhaps we could have Gil prattle on about how honorable and great the heads of that house were and how it would be dishonorable and stupid it is to simply hand them over to secure allies in the war.

Or perhaps we can insinuate that she's a terrible leader who is endangering this treaty that would see all, and we do mean all, monstergirls treated as they should be all for the sake of her ambition and bitter feelings over the purge. He's made the preparations after all, he is fully capable of and intends to deliver on his promises of reform.

Reform that sure as hell won't happen if they lose this war. Gil sided against them, they won't forget that even if they win here. If Zipangu falls, their home country is next in line. If she thought the purge was bad, wait until the full weight of a crusade is clearing up all the "heresy". It'll be on her if that happens. The other ice girls probably know this and it should be mentioned to them. She's stomping all over Cadhla's dreams for selfish reasons. We could throw that in there too.

>Perhaps we could have Gil prattle on about how honorable and great the heads of that house were and how it would be dishonorable and stupid it is to simply hand them over to secure allies in the war.

Problem with that comes from the fact the previous Hjalmar oatriach and his son were scumbags during the purge, the current regent (his elder daugther) and the new heir are much, much more reasonable at least.

>Or perhaps we can insinuate that she's a terrible leader who is endangering this treaty that would see all, and we do mean all, monstergirls treated as they should be all for the sake of her ambition and bitter feelings over the purge. Anyhow I'll start writing but leave room to chagnes things depending on what you guys want, let's see where this rabbit hole go.

‘’I do’’
Unlike Ame I can’t cite prior knowledge or warnings; the Yukionna known as Jedina isn’t known to me for she wasn’t an adversary of the purge, at the very least she wasn’t one I remember facing outright unlike the resistance, Cadlha and a few other maiden who escaped relatively unscathed from this mess.
I wish consequences from this event wouldn’t be haunting me years after…
As Gil nodded at me I took the risk of glancing toward Jedina, the dull gray, perfectly round magical pupils seemed to threaten to steal my heat again but the Matron stood still sagely awaiting our deliberation, no hint of impatience showing on her dull, pale face, staying as still as the dead and I had to forcefully swallow my cold sweat.
‘’I honestly believe she’s unfit to rule, brother. She doesn’t like human at all – I don’t think that originate from the Purge either – as such she shouldn’t be ruling the entire circle of Yukionnas because she’s taking advantage of Cadhla demise to push her ambitions, mayhap she appealed to the girls emotions….’’
‘’…she pushed her position of power like a despot thank to her superior talents in magic’’
The King finishes my phrase, fondling the pommel of Durandal with a stony expression that broke slightly to display one rare snarl of displeasure, a much more honest emotion compared to his previous seemingly uncontrollable rage and revolution to the Matron demand.
‘’Dangerous presumptions on our parts but, since the cadre of ghosts aren’t speaking for themselves… I’ll keep yours words in mind, Queen, little brother’’
With a brief half-bow the King of the North turned swiftly, stomping his heavy boots in the snows, displacing and crunching the white blanket while proceeding out of our protective circle while ame extinguished the levitating will-o-wisps, balling one of her hand in a stressed fist; marking my cue to reach and grasp it gently, which soon became a thorough handhold.

‘’Jedina, Yukionnas!’’

Gil Rosario certainly know how to be subtle when needed but that was certainly not the case here; his bellowing voice echoed down the mountaintop as he simply took a stronger tone instead of an outright, crude scream. The Matron seemingly deduced my brother intention as a grimace broke the still features of her faces while her carmines, liquid dripping fingers twitched slightly, curling slightly to form a dangerous claw.

‘’This demand put forth before me as reparation for my failure to keep your beloved, departed matron safe cannot be accepted! Monsters will enjoy safety, citizenry, privileges and even have their faith respected – something Cadhla was firm and spirited in seeing through, mentions of your refuge were never put to the table, thus I ask. Why? Why would you need your own territory? Why would I need a monstrous vassal, none of you are fools, you know very well that’d destabilise Gwynedd whose loyalty was finally forged in blood. Thus, matron to your demands I ask you this; why do you wish to destabilise the soon-to-be Commonwealth?’’

Nine ghost of ice veiled to resembles each other’s like twins gave very unique remarks while simultaneously staying as silent as the flowing winds of the mountain; one of them shook her fast, another enrolled her long white hair around her index, yet another still laughed atop the icy branch of the frozen tree…
Jedina had closed her eyes, floating a few steps backward from the golden haired king; expression closed and undoubtedly inwardly indignant, I heard ominous crackles like ices yielding to pressure as she moved her digits one after the others, as if stirring her body out of a deadly chilly sleep.

‘’The Monsters of Gwynedd will not accept the Commonwealth dominion, King, for you stopped the Purge only too late-‘’

A snap interrupted her words, a small statured Yukionna had broken and thrown a piece of the iced trees toward the matron, the long object forming a crude arc, missing King and Matriarch alike; look like Ame was right, the situation amidst the ghost was highly volatile. To her credits, at least, Jedina ignored this misgiving.

‘’Without representative they will rebels; if such a situation come to pass I will have to lead these dissidents, do you truly wish for the Commonwealth to face a civil a few year after its conception?’’

I felt Ame hand tighten my own to a painful point; her nails dug into my skin and I had to bite down the pain, however Madame Queen had enough.

‘’DISSIDENTS!’’

She screamed, overwhelming Gil retort and immediately catching everyone attention as she stepped forward, leaving me behind – and I quickly decided to follow.

>The question is, should I do something, or allow my wife to carry through this apparent emotional outburst?
>Also I’ll have to be away for the next 10 minutes or so, stay tuned.

To your question I must ask another; does it feel like it? Or do you think Ame is so upset as to be emotionally swept away by her anger?
>>
>>33235391
A good question. Ame has proven to be a shrewd and benevolent leader. Not someone to lose her cool in dangerous or critical situations.

At the same time, this bitch is essentially everything she is not in the critical areas. Hates humans, incredibly ambitious, goes for summary executions of people she doesn't like (on sacred ground no less!), rules through strength instead of mutual respect and subtlety... To be in the same room as someone who is the exact opposite of what you are morally is emotionally grating for good guys. You want to punch them, you want to punch them so badly. I'm not sure which one is winning here.

Also, isn't Zipangu part of this commonwealth? Couldn't the monstergirls say they have representation through our wonderful fluffy tailed maidens?
>>
>>33235685
I think the icebutts consider themselves a different kind of monster girl than the rest of them because icebutts predate the current Demon Lord.
>>
>>33236090
Could be true but they're also rare. There is no reason why a territory should be carved out for only perhaps a hundred or so "special" monsters (would like to know total size of the yukionna population). The rest, well, would be satisfied by the fluffy tails.

They're just plain better than Frozen McBitchtits. Nice, considerate, love pranks and jokes, very old and very wise (especially Tsu), and fluffy tails. I cannot stress enough the power of fluffy tails.

There's not a whole lot of Yukionnas, the thing about them is that they've been sort of eternal since they emerge from the frozen forest of Gwynedd.

It's very hard to make a consensus since some constantly pop out of the trees.

Then came a flicker of light on my flank; the telltale white color of Ame-no-Uzume, queen of center Zipangu fluffy, vulpine appendages came highlighted with a rare addition of dark blue, those tails of hers didn’t possess the large, blossoming, overflowing fur-like-flower from her blonde mother and instead put forth an image of deadly, quiet ire projecting a flame of pure, raw – power -. It felt akin to a sheer act of nature, a stark difference from this usually good natured, fun loving vixen – it’s as if she had suddenly yielded into the dark, dark nature of the Kumiho slumbering inside, much like my own occupant who stirred in interest like a slithering snake, finally daring to show himself for the spectacle. I thought I heard the crackling of flames as each tails hovered in the air, looking twice as big, hemorrhaging brutality while her dark hair and equally obscure ears stop atop her cranium without incessant twitches, even her eyes lost her golden brilliance as the Trance imposed upon body entered into highlighted her veins in silvers, bulging them like straining muscles while a flame-like phenomenon replaced her pupil.

This change was more than sudden – it felt downright ominous- as the only person beside the blue nine-tailed queen I felt trampled by the sheer pressure of Ame-no-Uzume mere presence; the fear crushing my chest reminded me of Orion this time however, the backdrop was snow instead of a helpful storm. The Yukionnas numbered ten in total and they certainly made their surprises known as they, in turn, embraced Trance.

The snow seemed to grow brighter, developing a mirror solid sheen as spikes formed all around queen Ame-no-Uzume – thus I embrace my Focus, feeling the power of magic while the combined sensations of tens strong ghost-women of ice in their element nearly sent a wave of nausea in my body – the reason why I didn’t felt disorientated was because the true numbers of magical women present was nine, one of the ghost hadn’t embrace magic. My belly felt filled with jelly-like substances but that was merely a little play of the mind from such potent surrounding energies, thankfully stubbornness allowed me to keep my lunch while I grasped my big brother chest, interrupting his weapon-ready stance mid-movement, he yielded quickly upon witnessing the snow literally evaporate around Ame fuming, dark kimono; revealing dirty ground which in turn began to cook, yet no signs of fumes escaped the scorched ground from her passage, the auras of flames around her tails and silhouette seemed to make her twice as tall and the snow ladies found themselves very nervous indeed, as the few ones lazing on the naked, ceremonial trees jumped down, floating into the now protective soil while Ame left me and my brother behind by only two meters stopping her stride to face the ghost matron.

‘’I don’t like what’s going on’’

I heard my brother whisper as he stood straighter; inching himself closer to my side while I acted upon my circle of expertise to keep any potential sneaky spikes impossible by mutating the snow in dry crystal-like ice.

‘’Neither do I, but I don’t take my wife for a fool; monsters don’t rule like human, that much I came to know from my short stay here, time to learn, my King.’’

Perhaps these Yukionnas pushed a little too far; describing the phenomenon around Ame as fire felt wrong – it was hot, but thinking of it as «physical» would be inaccurate, the more I stared at my silent, gallant wife glaring at the Matriarch for a full minute, the more I came to understand this warmth. It felt like an emotion lingering in the air, akin to the tepidness of a fever projected outward to tickle the outside of one skin.

‘’I trust you aren’t agree-‘’

The second matron (It’ll never sit well with me how swiftly they’ve adapted to Cadlha demise) stepped forward, skin glistening in power as its pallor made the newly formed line of veins glisten with awe-inspiring blue, facing the nine-tailed queen, almost unable to contain the might threatening to spill out at a moment notice; to her credit she didn’t twitch or show nervousness once.

‘’During the 23th day of Summer in the month of Eclipse, one hundred-twenty-five-years after Zipangu conception and the drawing of the territories between Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto and Rhy Rahall splitting the island in two, us free monsters learned to remember this date. Anyone ruling in my lands, the Rahall domain, the lizard dominion and finally every high members of the water dragon sect –who were gracious enough to allow this negotiation inside a sacred site of Orochi- carved the events in memories and passed them down through learnings in generations, or never forgot what happened if they were gifted with long life. Tell me now, Matron – what happened back then? An event that so marked this country; just like Gwynedd War of Brotherhood should be easy answer, yes?’’

I heard my brother stifle a grunt of displeasure, Ame was referring to another civil war, this recent one was mere child play compared to the royal blood feud between the Shieffer, Rosario and Balàn families before my or the time of my grandfather came to be, each of them worthy of the throne with the blood of the conqueror King in their heirs but that’s a story for another time. There is, however, no denying the mark it left on the North and, reason why the three orders of monsters exist in the first place and will never again take arms for internal conflicts, along with the series of political oaths chaining royalty and noble alike.

Confusions was a clear as morning fog with the battle-ready Yukionna; while the words of the queen needed acknowledgement she simply stared at the nine-tailed fox without emotions, only her own magical might was projected outward to try and dwarf the anger of my wife without success; the surrounding frigid dames sharing the same physiques didn’t project as much power as they could; three of them plucked themselves away from their protective magical terraforming, floating upon the soil sideway until they found a proper perch on the frozen trees while a last one shook her fist at the Matron who didn’t bother to look back- the shroud concealing her body in blue skin and white hair flickered once in hazy, eyes-blinking speed as I saw her mouth move and open without sound – these women definitely came prepared as well to obfuscate their tones.

‘’Answer! You, who have taken the voices of your sisters, answer!’’

Carmine-colored fingers glinted maliciously in the increasingly high sun of the mountain until Jedina left hand formed an awkward claw while her brows pursed together in displeasure; she let out a single audible breath without warm substances as the silent, magically muted protest of her fellow seemed to be the only thing that affected her mood.

‘’I do not know’’

A curt simple answer that apparently stepped on her pride while carrying the hope of finality, my own resolution was unfortunately shared by this hateful cold woman who didn’t fail to cast a glance my way.
Ame retort came two folds, first was a sharp exhale of breath which manifested itself in three columns of bluish soul-fire, as if her very body was unable to contain the impossible might of its power these mentioned flames exited her mouth and nostrils at once.

‘’The Rebellious Eventide – a beginning of a new era, new bureaucracy as rebels to the crown committed unpardonable crimes in one evening – less than twelve hours marked the word ‘’Dissent’’ as taboo in this entire island, forevermore.’’

Realization cascaded in my body like a hot sweat of sickness as my eyes darted toward Jedina who, in turn, crossed my gaze with those circles of grays enhanced by magic; my bitter gloom seemed only to increase as, momentarily heat threatened to escape my body once more but her intention was beaten as this fast, invisible ritual was unceremoniously eaten by yours the activated Manaphage of Focus, the loss of contact provoked a rare twitch on that bloodied woman whose long, clawed fingers creaked from movements, as if her entire body was frozen, the magical heat of the queen was thoroughly encompassing the entire shrine, tiny pillars of smokes escaped the ever decreasing snow while my brother gaze silently peered and investigated the circle of blue woman, some of their images flickering but never failing, keeping up their stubborn manifestations but there were definitive hints of crumbling guards; these women had apparently given their voices to the Matron and were now regretting it.

‘’To carve the entire eastern parts of my lands for themselves they invited my mother with her retinue to celebrate Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto birthday and, hopefully nurse the wounds between royalty and nobility that was ever growing – instead they struck during the feast, slaughtering faithful servants and guards to the crown, forcing the nine tailed Youko to cannibalise one of her tails for survival. The entire region surrounding their household is still irradiated to this day, a reminder to all rulers far and near to what we do with dissidents from thereon – we hunted that entire family to extinction even when they fled to Central.’’

Tension was beyond burning; the incredible might surrounding my fluffy wife was the most perfect, radiant projection of intimidation I have ever seen in any kind of negotiations. Nobles are used to petty threats and passive aggressiveness but this was something completely different, no politeness, no what ifs or buts – a queen of supreme magical might was angry without hiding it –. A light seemed to sparkles through the slightly lessened dark bandages and kimono of the queen whose body was also thoroughly garbed in furs; a brief hint of ethereal smoke phasing through clothes left me momentarily hypnotized.

‘’Brother…?’’

Thankfully, family caught my arm as I stepped closer to my wife; I remember this manifestation, back in the open air hot spring, a strange glowing colored jewel was imbedded in the space between her breasts – Hoshi No Tama (Star Ball) – a manifestation of Kitsune souls, meaning Ame was just about ready to unleash her true power.

‘’You’ve made your point, center queen; we’ll be leaving at once, Cadhla death will be repaid’’

A long pillar of this magical fire escaped my wounded wife mouth as the slithering, serpentine tails slid in the air like a hive mind to settle behind her, creating a small white and blue flower head while the straightened vulpine ears looked just about ready to stab the very ice of the surrounding trees – her words caught the attention of every Yukionnas now, the girls all turned with renewed hostility and the very air grew cold and charged in power for my queen was threatening a beloved home.

‘’Zipangu does not tolerate dissident, Gwynedd share the very same history; our joined countries will make four leaders cooperating for the same common goal, the future of the refuge you lead has two destiny under your rule, killer ghost, if you were to walk away from this battle.’’

These lasts words were an obvious jab that told everything of Ame-no-Uzume opinion, I heard my brother stifle a laugh as he whispered «for our sakes, never make your wife mad»; words of great wisdoms.

‘’Observe. Wait. Rebel after Gil Rosario passing, a plan of patience not unknown to us long lived monsters. You’ll fail, for I promise you this; my life is long, my talents ever increasing and I am surrounded by capable, frank peoples, the monsters of Gwynedd will have to choose between your growing country ready to be crushed by the might of the Commonwealth, or our newly formed alliance, for us denizens of the long island do not suffer dissidents’’

A pause, something akin to a triumphant smile graced the visage of the queen before her second edict; to her credit, the frigid opposition contained herself wonderfully, in silent, murderous passive aggressiveness.

‘’Wait. Wait some more for a more opportune time, Gil child will grow old and die while I will live, watch, rule and keep the Commonwealth whole while chipping away at your foundations, bit by bit; the harsh northern climates is no place for a refuge, a haven for monsters and human. Another one will be constructed near the hill of my capital province and I’ll be paying for another one near Crosswalk thanks to the new policies waiting to be introduced. Now I ask; what will you rule, beside ghosts and naked tress?’’

Finally granted an opportunity to speak, Jedina mouth opened in a nasty wolfish snarl; undoubtedly cold blood seeped out of her gums, coloring her white, pointed teeth in mixture of red and dark with snow beneath her feet changing, morphing, and pointing itself toward my wife like javelins sprouting from the ground.

‘’To slice an open palm of friendship shames your ancestors and the very dragon you revere, queen of center Zipangu! Us Yukionnas predate your country, predate the Crusade itself; monsters are adapting to a new world, so are we! Never would I dare betray my oath of vassalage for, as you’ve so elegantly put it, my words is my life and old age cannot rob me from this earth!’’

Ame laughed; not bitter, neither sad or angry, it was a short lived laugh of pure mockery as she unclasped her hands; holding out her naked palm forward then balled it in a fist, blue fox-fire erupting, licking her flesh and clothe.

‘’My ancestors are dead, I can’t ask for their opinions, as for the dragon…’’

These words heralded a… indescribable phenomenon. First was power, her entire aura of flame grew lukewarm with the potent, burning fire becoming solid, tepid –damp – breathing became impossible as everyone present, King included became utterly flabbergasted.

My dear wife projected something else, another power, another spell but what came before me was a true phenomenon of early age mysticisms; her silhouette exuded –something- that struck me as familiar. Long, serpentine, radiant and strong enough to pressure and crush my lungs in my very body, a form, a spectral body exited the queen’s silhouette, hovering a few centimeters above her head; strong thick scaled body projecting its own blue shine, the rest of its length was lost into the body of the host, losing brilliances and quickly becoming transparent it still hovered a gull three meters above the head of the queen, forming an ellipse, curling its flexible body in order to rest its giant jaw just above the queen of center Zipangu; two long, dark red protuberances exited below its nostril to form what I could only guess as a mustache while the mouth opened slightly, revealing murderous arrays of sharp teeth – fumes, honest to god fumes-like steam – emerge from its mouth as tis big, big ocean eyes looked like pearls ready to fall out of its face.

It bore a simple expression of anger, reptile features tightened and warped as it closed its mouth while ame fanned herself, thoroughly unimpressed.

‘’Dislike the mocking of the dead, fortunately, she has a question.’’

Her tone carried a magical edge, a projection of power that was far from natural.

‘’Oh matron, where is you loyalty?’’

She didn’t allow any time for the matriarch, the queen veered slowly, the incredibly tall dragon resting atop like a projected soul reminded me of the Onis talents with their ancestors calls; I only found the strength to breathe when my eyes found my wife instead of the entity hovering above, its big, colored eyes shifting between me and Gil.

‘’Butcher! Where is your loyalty!? King! Where is your loyalty!?’’

To be put on the spot like this...

wait, should we be swearing loyalty to the countries, or to their lieges, or a combination of both since Monsters and Humans view rulership differently?
Like, "To Ame-no-Uzume, to House Rosario of Gwynedd, to the Commonwealth"?

INH, what do we know about the loyalty oaths and perception of loyalty to the state among Monsters from our time in Zipangu?

The Queen Is The Country.

While Zipangu is spoken as a country, to swear allegience to the queen is like speaking to the face of the country itself; that's how monsters take it.

Human obviously have more leeway since its dynasty based.

Also pic related is how the dragon ''hover'' out of Ame body, so to speak.

Well, that's ominous.

What problems could there be in saying that our loyalty is with the Queen of Zipang, the King of Gwynedd, and the Commonwealth between the two?

Maybe she only expects that we answer only to the Commonwealth?

To say that our loyalty is to our loved ones could be very easily turned against us, since Ame just got done talking about how a family of Monsters was hunted down to extinction because they were loyal only to their own family instead of to the Queen of Zipang.
>>
>>33238019
Our loyalty is to our queen and her loyalty is to the common wealth.
>>
>>33238039
So you want to say that we're loyal just to Ame?

wrong way of looking at it. We're loyal to her because we trust her to guide us in the big picture with the commonwealth.

>>
>>33238187
No, I mean, are we flat out saying that our loyalty is with Zipangu and not with King Rosario?
Yes, both Gil and Ame are supposed to be loyal to the Commonwealth, but look at the situation right now.
Ame just finished a lecture on the obliteration of a Clan that was only loyal to its own leader, and that leader was not loyal to the greater Kingdom of Zipangu.
She's been trying to force the yukionna to not only be loyal to their Matron, but also to the Kingdom of Gwynedd, and above that, to the Commonwealth.
Only swearing loyalty to a single monarch could be disastrous if we're misreading this situation.
>>
>>33238019
I'm the one who said it should be to his loved ones so don't count this as an extra vote towards it.

Saying its to his loved ones is in character though. It's all he's ever done. He undertook the purge because he thought it would help out his house (i.e. his mom). All he's done since he woke up in that field has largely been to benefit the girls somehow. Even our stunt with the church was predicated on opening up a path to a happy ending because that's what they want and by extension, what Siggy wants. His "betrayal" was nothing of the sort, but it had to look like it. Mommy even said it, he takes the dreams of those around him as his own.

Thankfully, nobody's dreams conflict within the group. Save perhaps for Mylen, who wants Siggy all to herself which conflicts with Athena's dream of being his wife. We're also in love with Tsu and Athena swore fealty to her and Ame. So to say it's to those we love is to say we're loyal to the commonwealth because they'll be a part of it. To betray it would be to betray them, and he won't do that.
>>
>>33238303
Except it won't be interpreted that way, and Ame just showcased a prime example of how that kind of thinking led to the extermination of an entire clan in the past.
It's not in-character to be that stupid.

We're loyal to our queen but we maintain our own identity and are also loyal to the ideals of the Commonwealth. Maybe that's the best way to phrase it.

I'm hesitant to say we're loyal to Gil in this context, when it's not about us being loyal to him out of familial bond, because he hasn't been our king for a while now and with the commonwealth he's a leader of us but not in our chain of command, so to speak.

That's against the way that Monsters rule, since they're not about loyalty to ideals but to a specific person, who is the very nation itself.

You would have to preface that it's because we are Human that we owe allegiance to a set of ideas rather than to a person.

‘’Loyalty…’’

My voice felt hoarse; throat contracted, eyes nearly watering as I peered onto the shining sapphires of that phantom, soul-like manifestation of the water dragon nearly obfuscating the presence of my wife and queen, everyone attention fell on me and I heard my brother step a… no He took a step closer, standing beside me, peering into the queen of center Zipangu and holy dragon alike, keeping a thoughtful hand on his sword. His presence was enough to awaken me from this amazing vision, this awestruck hypnotism might even have left me gawking in the face of combat.

I barely saw the Yukionnas, vision trailing up and about I settled awkwardly back to peer at the dragons, its long, elegant body turned on itself while its jaw opened and closed constantly as if tasting and eating the air itself – her question was easy enough, I simply had to be frank – Monsters rules differently than us human, but I stand in the court of Ame-no-Uzume of Zipangu nonetheless.

‘’To you my queen and wife, those I’ve grown to love in your retinue and evidently, to the ideals of the Commonwealth itself’’
Would it be a trap to utter ‘’I’m loyal to my loved ones?’’ the story of this rebellious was tragic and vicious – they were evidently loyal to their loved ones – not the queen of the country. My words were prudent, perhaps even boring but I stood still without fear. I so wished to add redemption to this list, right the wrongs of the Butcher but that is a forlorn wish that shouldn’t be uttered in such circumstance.

The ethereal silhouette hovering above Ame-no-Uzume took a large, large breath; a loud cavernous «Ssssh» reverberated across the entire mountaintop, peerless jewels of eyes shifting toward Gil.

‘’To the men and woman who ruled before me; and the oath bounding my life, dynasty and country’’

Thus the nine tailed Kumiho of inner Zipangu housing the soul of the holy water dragon turned toward the Yukionna Matron, the serpentine, immensely powerful entity floating above pulled itself out slightly , increasing its body mass enough to form a double helix, transparent, yet colored body shining with the high sun.

‘’To the monsters of Zipangu, each and everyone one of them.’’

A guttural, cavernous breath exited the water dragon as the sapphires glowered, as if acknowledging the matron and, for a moment – we were all at a standing in the evaporating snow, until…

‘’Liar!’’

It was a small youthful voice coming from my left flank.

‘’Liar! You said the refuge what our most important objective! What the hell do you think you doing lying to a sacred being!?’’

I felt a strong impression of déjà-vue more than any astonishment at the vision of a short, lively iced ghost; a levitating girl came rushing out of the iced trees, discarding the veil that camouflaged her body, revealing truly blue hair with healthy peach skin while valiant, brilliant golden eyes shone with vitality truly absent in the matriarch and every single one of these still hidden woman.

‘’Lihua… you are young, much too young and brash I’ve told you this often no-‘’

Another whistle from the dragon interrupted Jedina who took a few prudent steps back into the metamorphosed snow; the apparently mute entity had opened its jaw in direction of the blood-covered ghost while Ame simply smiled, thoroughly smug and satisfied.

‘’No!’’

The dragon twitched at the youthful voice as I became thoroughly convinced of one thing; I’ve seen this Yukionna before.

‘’Ladyship, lordship, dragon and… and Butcher; my name is Lihua, Lihua styled Heikath and I would like you to hear me out before relations are strained to a breaking point – I sweat to thee all right now I will fight for your cause alone if need be – but please, hear out my proposition’’

Heikath. Heikath – that’s the name of the forest surrounding the college – and suddenly I found myself nearly unable to breath as the short, spirited ghost joined her hands together and bowed half of her height while a nasty snarl and a magical evocation of the Matriarch would have caused an immediate eruption of hostility if it weren’t for the sheer intimidation of the Water Dragon.

>Ending here for tonight, will pick up again tomorrow folks.
>>
>>33240103
So she still has that dragon? I thought it got eaten by the nightmare.

Now, aside from being very good at intimidating people does it also have a lie detector function? It did react to Jedina's answer in a somewhat hostile manner. And what manner of thing was this evocation? Ice Spike formation? Super chilled breath from snarling? Or just making it snow more to compensate for the melting? Entering trance/focus and acting while in it is different/able to be differentiated from actually tapping the mana pool and casting something unless we got a load of mystic background radiation. I think. Clear that one up for me would you?

Said dragon was never taken by the Nightmare since it's related/is the soul of Orochi, the Holy Water Dragon of Zipangu.

This is a pretty damn big deal to have it pop up right there.

Jedina evocation was more or less the telltale sign of incoming offensive spell that, thankfully wasn't carried through. The Dragon didn't do anything, neither did the matron, she was apparently temtped to strike at Lihua, that's the energy Siggy felt from her, nothing else shown physically.

I don't know how she'll handle peacetime then. Maybe we'll need to set up an MMA league for her or something, warrior-type monstergirls would easily attempt to make such a thing after a given time to hone skills and earn some form of bragging rights. I just hope it isn't related to the adrenaline rush you can only get in contests of Mortal Combat. Peace would then be inimical to her Integrity long term. Sorry, I've just started getting into nWoD. The more I read the more that setting is giving me the urge to try my hand at GMing. You have also played a part in that. I desire to experience the joy of toying with players firsthand, making them doubt rational choices, the fear as I request they roll dice on critical outcomes, and just seeing how they respond to me throwing certain things at them among other such joys. It just sounds like so much fun.

When they were younger. The "sisterly" love finding a new form of expression. Men are hard to come by right now after all. There plain and simply isn't enough dick to go around. If we can land male births from the monstergirls that'll sort itself out eventually, but for the foreseeable future getting a husband is a tough thing to do for any girl. One of the biggest things working against them is that males know this and can thus pick and choose. Or string along the friends with benefits thing out a good number of years if they're inclined to be a bit of a dick.

She'd be able to live without Siggy if she could constantly fight, really. Not that she'd survive long if that were to happen anyway.

>I don't know how she'll handle peacetime then.

Siegfried only saw it for a few years before the eruption of the Civil war and she was growing nasty from idleness. She most likely can't handle peace.

As I've been doing this quest for nearly 3 years, my advice as GM/QM is simple. Be stubborn, love the world you create and its characters, keep your plan broads and make sure to never forget/discard the emotional scenes you couldn't put thirty sessions ago, another opportunity could present itself or, you'll simply have a much better idea that wouldn't be possible if you tried to railroad your first attempt.

Msot of all, I'm no qm that take joy from the anguish of his players, so I can't understand that ambition of yours but that's okay!

>Not taking joy from the anguish of your players

You're a funny guy, because we all know you like the suffering. But for you, like any good GM, it has to be brought on by the players themselves.

They must make a dumb mistake, or go for something unreasonable or foolish, before the hammer is dropped and people start dying off and whatnot. They must suffer, and understand why they suffer, and know that it's their own damn fault they suffer. Dice only play a part in the suffering, you can get little nicks in on bad rolls but to truly crush them they must first crush themselves somehow.

Thus, I think any good GM enjoys the player's anguish at least a little. The players must have a sense of real danger in most games. They must think and truly believe that, if they fuck up badly enough, their PC is taking a dirt nap or worse. You may not even be out for blood at all, but the players don't know that. They must think you are out to get them at least somewhat, to keep them on edge and wracking their brains for the most intelligent decisions or crazy plans that are so crazy they just might work.

And what do you mean by nasty due to idleness? Weren't there any tournaments she could enter? It could be like a date for her. Siggy takes her out, bets lots of money on her (optional), and watches as she decimates the opposition cheering her on from the sidelines. She gets love and attention from Siggy, and gets to fight people (albeit non-lethally). Would that stop or slow her descent into nastiness?

People often said that this quest is too oppressive, careful you don't over do it with the trials and potential YOU ARE FUCKED at the slightest, tiniest mistakes else people might be too scared to act or rely too much on a few individuals.

As for Mylen... well, I'll just give you this gif, she's a lovely girl but she's most likely unfixable.

Oh of course not. You foreshadow or warn about upcoming potential player killer moments. It doesn't have to be explicit, it can be a signal of some kind. Usually it's something the players elect to do. When you go to finally kill the vampire or something, you know you will likely face combat with the thing, and that implies the danger of getting reduced to 0 hp or whatever the health stat is for the game and dying.

And it's been getting better, the relaxation scenes are getting longer and hopefully more frequent. The only time I've ever felt really oppressed was in the church camp, but that was intentional and required. We were dealing with an inquisitor that knew *exactly* how to shadowrun. If it didn't feel like we were just one tiny mistake from getting fucked (and we almost were) it would have lessened the impact Ahriman made and made our final victory over that trial less satisfying.

Even so, I don't think you've sent us into permanent shadowrunning mode. Siggy seems just fine with trusting the girls to get the job done without him. Besides, all great leaders understand the importance of delegation.

And without a war to fight Mylen is just going to languish in boredom the rest of her life? Man, that's really sad. Maybe if she spends enough time around Hadraniel something will get repaired in that psyche of hers and she'll be able to have fun without killing people. I hope, Mylen's suffered enough for several lifetimes, she really needs to catch a huge break.

>Siggy seems just fine with trusting the girls to get the job done without him.

I've been on a Three Kingdom buzz since last week and my answer to this statement is simple. «Talented officers are worth ten thousands men»

>And without a war to fight Mylen is just going to languish in boredom the rest of her life?

Bored warriors tend to do very stupid things, but Mylen can't be put in the same camps as adrenalin-addicted barbarians; her future can go many many way, but she'll be the girl that'll need lots and lots of repair after the war, for now, she's thriving in this chaos, conflicts and high-stress environement.
>>

That they are, and we have amassed quite a collection of talented officers. In the case of Ame and Tsu, talented officers who have talented officers of their own to call upon. We're in a good spot, or we would be, if it wasn't for that damn bomb hanging over our heads.

And while she may need repair, Siggy's the kind of person who'll put in the time and effort to do it. He'll get the other girls to help too if they can. If nothing else friends are always a big help in dealing with issues.

The church has the better armies but Zipangu certianly bred heroes, Gwynedd on the other hand is is much more mixed, there's no doubt the fluffs surrounded themselves with people of merits since they can't match the armies of the cats and lizards in numbers or disciplines, thus they've got the Knights that act as irregulars/guerillas which in turn all but force skilled leaders while the regular army is trained to hold out and bog down the opposition.

Although, Hadraniel, Mylen and Sylphis aren't really ''officers'' in the broad term and Leila obviously wouldn’t be given soldiers, but they make up for it through incomparable valiantly in battle.

How many of those magitek armors does the Crusade have left?
How quickly or easily, assuming that the dwarf's soul is willing, could a new pilot acclimate to the armor?

Did Gil bring along any mages among his personal retinue or Red Cloaks?

Could we have a rotating pilot roster so that no one pilot Overcasts, like what happened with Leila?

>How many of those magitek armors does the Crusade have left?

Unspecified number hovering around fifty, they were going to move the bulk of them with the reinforcement.

>How quickly or easily, assuming that the dwarf's soul is willing, could a new pilot acclimate to the armor?

The magitek armor only work with human/elves/dwarves, as for proper piloting, you'd need a few months of training to pick up the basic to years to become really good.

>Did Gil bring along any mages among his personal retinue or Red Cloaks?

Yes, Gwynedd has a fair amount of mages.

>Could we have a rotating pilot roster so that no one pilot Overcasts, like what happened with Leila?

That's a big, big mayve given then umber of human mages in the place.

I won't be able to start the thread right now, but it should be soon enough, around an hour perhaps.

Has that changed?

Better question: do any of the mages that Gil brought with him have experience piloting Armors?
Or are they a too closely guarded weapon of the Church for anyone else to have experience in piloting them?
>>

>So the bulk of the Armors were supposed to be on the resupply ships?

Yep, they needed a proper spearhead first before moving these pricy things.

>Has that changed?

I can't answer that.

>Better question: do any of the mages that Gil brought with him have experience piloting Armors?

None, the only other person who piloted a magitek armor is Kyorn, Gwynedd doesn't have any of these mechs yet.

>Or are they a too closely guarded weapon of the Church for anyone else to have experience in piloting them?

A few always leaked out but not enough for any other forces to field a proper unit.

The southern water clans have jumped in the war for this assault, otherwise Zipangu doesn't really have a big presence in the water, but that was mostly out of necessity.

If the monsters made a navy, Central would get very, very nervous.

Zipangu is more or less rumored as an impossibility in the lands on the otherside of the swamp, everyone know it exist on this side, doubly so with the crusade, it just that the island never once tried to expand beyond its borders so people do tend to forget about it.

Unlike the trio of rulers present in the shrine, the emotions that this young-looking ghost put forward could be summarised as ‘’earnest desperation’’ as she stood still in her position of semi-submission; something of a schisms seem to have happened overnight inside the community of ghost – while still veiled the floating, nearly ethereal women moved slowly in two direction. I counted four of them floating a fair distance behind Jedina while the rest took a more cautious stance, forming a closed circles as they whispered soundless words amidst themselves while the newcomer, Lihua, kept her position for these long, long seconds as I, Ame and Gil observed our surrounding as the floating soul of that serpentine lizard kept on staring at the Yukionna, until she was finally granted reprieve.

‘’Speak’’

Gil was the one to speak, stepping forward away from my side while Ame, seemingly caught between satisfaction and irritation, let out a huff and turned back at the matron while the dragon never strayed from its vigil – Lihua relaxed consequently, giving the blond king a nod, and started speaking without staring at anyone, as if ashamed, but that emotion didn’t rob any gallantry from her tone.

‘’We…’’

However she stops while glancing at her sisters, but resumed just as quickly.

‘’Jedina doesn’t understand the purpose of the refuge, nor did she agree with Cadhla wish in the first place – this place of ours has been… it’s been standing since the beginning of this new demonic era I-‘’

‘’Lihua! You’re young, idealistic and spirited; traits to be respected yes, but I told you time and again that you’ll only be-‘’
>>
This matriarch would have been a whirlwind of dangerous aggression following her interruption; I felt the potent magic exuding from her body very much like Ame-no-Uzume physical manifestation in the hovering spirit of the Water Dragon that forced everyone to silence as it let out a low, cavernous growl, body rotating on itself unnaturally, imposing silence upon the strongest of the ice women who walked a tight, tight rope indeed – dragons are no creatures to anger, doubly so for revered ones.
‘’Cadhla wished for monsters to enjoy the peace of our refuge throughout the lands of Gwynedd. I don’t know how much of my sisters here agrees with me, or even agreed with the previous matron… even with the Purge we shouldn’t climb the mountain of dead for some kind of illusionary castle dammit!’’

Then came a brief magical outburst from the young, short girl; the snow she floated upon had grown cold, hard and murderous but the small scream soon provoke a brief projection of magic which crackled and broke, creating a circle of creaking, glass-looking blanket of shining white losing its resemblance and nature to snow.

‘’What do you KNOW of Cadlha, Jedina? Herma? Kuan? You’ve pushed for some kind of hegemony but not all of us are ready to spit on the memory of the dead to accomplish it! I’m not! So right now I want to ask you, Leaders and Butcher one thing!’’

As if finally of one mind, the other half of the ghost women unveiled themselves, revealing four beautiful and quite young looking women, all of them sporting magnificent golden eyes and highly individualistic features yet linked by somber elegance, but my eyes never left the spirited Lihua whose own gaze shifted from the matrons and her three veiled cronies – right now it’d seem the young and old guards had separated, a clear schism with Ame as sole obstacle of bloodshed.
>>
‘’Help us open our place to the world! After this war I… I’d like to invite you, Butcher, to spend time among us and enjoy our hospitality – then and only then – will we truly fix this issue and repay the memory of Cadhla, in the meantime I… I promise to fight’’

Despite the overwhelming charisma of my brother and the magical choking of Ame-no-Uzume this impromptu leader of the young half of the icy ghosts was looking at me and put forth a demand spoken like a plea.

This situation had grown surprisingly simple – Jedina was supported by three others veiled ghost, one of them had seemingly stepped away from the group to stand alone, away from old and young guards alike while Lihua had four other, unveiled and undoubtedly young and relatively inexperienced Yukionnas who quickly joined her, forming a line of half-demanding, half-pleading magicians standing still with joined hands. These were the young, weaker ghosts who were, at the very least honest – but wouldn’t be as effective as the older, stronger women who couldn’t muster a defence or retort – and now it’d seem there was a single neutral party amidst all these iced floating monsters.

To side with Lihua would mean rejecting old, experienced sorceress, to side with Jedina would mean accepting potential rebels while possibly upsetting my wife and brother.

They are more ice than water, expect about a 10/20% increased efficiency, while the old guards know how to channel all that fuel into ice much better, so for them it's a good +50% in term of casts.

You COULD train the onnas before the fight though, but that'd obviously demand time.

I hesitated for a simple few seconds, however once I crossed eyes with the earnest golden vivacity of Lihua whatever shortcomings I could come up with concerning battle prowess and lack of experiences came to naught.

‘’You’ve never been in war haven’t you?’’

I asked her along with her following posse, my question earned a polite yet nervous nods from all five ghost who relaxed their positions; meanwhile, Ame and Gil shifted their attentions to me but it became short lived once I felt a brief surge of power from the Matron, which was again intimidated to nothingness thank to another growl of the dragon who shifted its attention toward the uppity Yukionna, steam exiting its nostrils.

‘’I’m no leader but you’ve asked me a question – I’d like nothing more than going into this fabled refuge, Lihua – if you wish to fight for the Commonwealth, my wife along with king Gil Rosario ought to be given final judgement’’

‘’No need to judge’’

My brother was quick indeed, he stepped a little forward, stopping a few prudent meters before the young cast of Yukionnas, letting go of his swords While ame similarly, took a few steps forward of her own, displacing the dragon sprouting from her body as the brilliant gem halfway out of her thorax kept on shining with pure, raw mysticism.

‘’I’ll make a royal visit after the war; Cadhla was under my protection and there is no denying my failure, but were you to fight for us now in our time of need, I’ll promise you this – if I am to perish, my subordinates and fellow leaders would still remember my words and my demise wouldn’t break this oath.’’

The King made his decision and an angry snarl came from the matron who had finally enough, but thankfully possessed enough presence of mind to avoid outright hostility with a nine tailed queen ready for battle along with an ephemeral dragon judging the proceeding.

‘’So be it! Lihua! Remember my words – humans, alongside their sympathisers – are born traitors who forget their promises after two generations. You idealism is nothing more than a danger and if dragging down the century old refuge is the one wakeup call you’ll need, then I hope despair doesn’t clutch your heart to death, for I will welcome you back in my fold once tragedy strike; you need only look in the frozen mountain’’

I felt myself twitch in anger but the younger, newly-born matriarch wasn’t intimidated; she unclasped her hand and floated forward for a few precious meters, eyes peering straight onto the heat-stealing grays of the murderous old matron while her face shifted with barely restrained rage.

‘’You don’t even understand what the word ‘’refuge’’ means let alone the purpose of this old home of ours! I know what you want you… you crone! Climbing a mountain of dead for a country to call your own isn’t going to happen in the North, Cadhla is the only one who created this place in the forest, only through her efforts did it enjoy prosperity and peace and you’d just discard it all for some vain attempt at glory, with an unforgivable blood price that’d alienate the ONLY leaders willing to see monsters as what they truly are! I won’t…’’
‘’How old was your sister when she was slaughtered like livestock?’’

The following provocation of the matron sent the younger one in complete rage; Lihua embrace Trance in a heartbeat and immediately threw a series of javelins fast enough to blurs in the air, already passing in front of Ame-no-Uzume who reacted one breath too slow along with the dragon, a murderous pillar of steam escaped its mouth a second after the spell passed; fortunately there was another magical surge, a transparent wall was erected, multilayered and thick enough to resist the spell, imbedding itself into the protection as the one Yukionna who stayed neutral unveiled herself.

‘’Blue’’ would be the perfect word to summarize her – as if that color wasn’t already prevalent amidst the strongest sorceress of the North - she sported a brilliant kimono freed of motifs with long, long tissue disappearing into the solid snow, long, thick hair rolled around her neck to form a makeshift color left me momentarily stumped, but the brilliant eyes shining unnaturally through Trance and similarly colored veins put forth a painting of a thoroughly displeased woman who ought to look peaceful and gentle, there was something unnaturally beautiful with this ghost – hypnotic beauty akin to the chant of sirens sent my heart aflutter, giving me warmth unlike the stirring of arousal, a processing completely anathema to the moment I crossed eyes with Jedina.

‘’Jedina, Herma, Kuan and Liu – as one of the Five Matriarchs I hereby sentence all of you to immediate exile with queen Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, King Gil Rosario and finally, reformed Butcher of Gwynedd and former head of the Shieffer noble house as my witnesses – were you to return to our refuges, I will petition to bring the full might of the Commonwealth upon your heads.’’

Thusly did the negotiations with the witches of ices came to end; the young guards, the new generations amidst immortal, era-old monsters was to take over with a single matriarch remaining loyal. A net, thorough loss of battle prowess, but… It didn’t felt like a failure, these Onnas have been victims while simultaneously pushing for the civil rights of monsters, to reduce their abode to nothing would definitely be a sad, sad thing for it is a part of Gwynedd – and I dare say – a part of the history of their species as well.

There is one thing that, unfortunately, is sending an increasingly strong wave of emotions throughout my body without outlet; the losses of my soul links made it impossible to keep a straight face or my own gaze to stray toward Lihua.

She said her name was Lihua styled Heikath, the name of the forest surrounding the college – and apparently her sister died.

Once again politics and hubris fuck over those on the path of righteousness. It's like everyone not on our side is a scheming cynic, racist, or madman. Actually, they're tending to be all three at once. Why is idealism so hard to come by?

>Why is idealism so hard to come by?

At least the world is overseen by a goddess who love it, instead of the fate somehow working to shit on idealistic people time and time again!

Except the latter happen too often anyway
>>
>>33262555
And that is why idealism is so precious. The world seems arrayed against all who seek the happy ending, as if the universe demands that those who try to seek what is good must face tribulation after tribulation. As if it delights in tormenting the pure of heart.

Yet those who endure actually do experience motes of joy and happiness, just enough to keep them from breaking down and giving in to the despair that surrounds them. I only wonder what price we'll have paid at the end of this. For the enemy is willing to pay in turn to thwart our noble ambitions. To sacrifice for a world of darkness just as eagerly as we sacrifice in the name of the light. It's like a cosmic game of chicken, each side doubling down fully confident that the next hand will favor them and doubling down yet again when it doesn't. Both sides on the wrong end of an exponential growth equation...

Here's hoping good wins out.

Just got back from my birthday,

No Syphis lewds?
>>
>>33263114
Not yet, we are working on it. Though it seems that Siggy will be training a group of Ice Ladies on how to amp up their power while on water instead of indulging in fine Mantis wings, perhaps on the finer points of using a Soul Blast.

Seems the newbies don't understand how to harness the momentum of things like falling rain and the tides. Phase shifts seem easy to magi, but the harnessing of physical movements and momentums seems outside the "noobs" preview. Must teach them that. Each wave is in fact a MAJOR power source if ye know how to channel it. Guide the path of the force, go with the flow, and other such jazz.

INH, how powerful is that last matron that actually liked us?

Mantises are not for lewding! But now I feel guilty, I should give you something for your birthday.

>Though it seems that Siggy will be training a group of Ice Ladies on how to amp up their power while on water instead of indulging in fine Mantis wings, perhaps on the finer points of using a Soul Blast.

Only if its the popular choices, these women would have been pretty important character of the human path, wasting them would be a shame.

>Seems the newbies don't understand how to harness the momentum of things like falling rain and the tides

That's very tricky indeed, you must learn how to channel and amplify the movement as source and fuel for the spell before letting your imagination run wild, sound easy on paper but it require a great deal of Finesse, even with the absurd concentration of Trance/Focus, therE's als oa strong feeling of power that tempt you to go overboard in indulge in the joy of power.

>INH, how powerful is that last matron that actually liked us?

Each of the Yukionna matrons are just a little below the ladder of power comapred to Tsu, Ame and Fendall - meaning that they surclass humans by a large, large margin.

(Not that means invulnerability after all, Siegfried singlehandidly took on Orion in a storm and Tsu got sneak crossbow'd in the face)

It's fine you don't have to but I do really like it though.

I really do appreciate it thought or at least the thought.

Also since when Mantises were not for lewding?

I remember in the early threads she was almost corrupted

Is corrupted Sylphis the kind of lewd you want?
>>
>>33263354
That it is. But fighting for a future that will bring peace and love for all sentient beings, no matter "what" they are is pretty damn idealistic.

As I'm just getting into it I can't be an expert but...

Siggy has a VERY high "gnosis" score by my accounting. His job is thus to teach the fresh yukionna how to be "subtle" instead of "vulgar". A great wave can launch a great glacier towards a target. The presence of "Kraken" can easily excuse the presence of immense whirlpools, and so on.

The greatest magi are subtle only unto the "sleepers". A major storm makes a bolt from the sky unto their skulls more believable and thus, more acceptable to those who doubt. There are limits, but managing those limits is a thing a true magus knows exactly how to do. Make them think the "magic" is "mundane" and you can pull all sorts of shit. Sadly within a "reason" that you can't exactly define...
>>
>>33263593
Not really, Regular Slyphis is fine since she is the most fun to tease.

But when she was almost corrupted she was kind of lewd just pointing that out

Wait, do yo uthink Magic runs on belief? Because that's far form the case, it's a physical manifestation that has clear roots but it CAN be powered by a person faith, but facts remains you need some imaginations to craft your spells and you have hard limit we all know - with one way to cheat.

Well two, manaphage is cheating too

What about the time we saw an image of Siggy and Slyphis cuddling naked in one of the timelines?

She was not corrupted and that was kind of lewd.

I honestly wondered why I managed to remember that?

Can Athena at least be lewded?

Well you already established it at least partially ran on emotion. He who feels strongly, can alter reality on a level that he shouldn't be able to. We didn't enter a burn out state when forming the eggs because Siggy was DESPERATE!

Which is why he didn't burn when he "should" have. Thank god he didn't, for Ahriman would have picked up on that. Bugged the badge he did. Also happy coincidence, had he heard the words of the shorting out Emeth, namely "return to those you love", and it would have all been over. Hope we get to optimize the golem, she really does deserve to gain a certain kind of headgear. If only I could justify the pulse weakening his defenses because of it...

Of course emotions will always be a source of fuels, it's hard to -hoenstly- feels strongly enough for them to seriously affect magic tough.

As for Emeth, well...

[spiler] I really ,really REALLY want to run that robo-girl quest so bad [/spoiler]

I mean we already have Athena almost ready.

When it comes to those he's supposed to be linked with Siggy feels the need, even if can't feel it anymore. I get why you are emphasizing the sacrifice we made to save Athena. Siggy really has been relying on it, and one never realizes how important a thing is until it is truly gone.

Even if he regains it soon, this experience will forever mark him. Make him realize how much he leaned upon the girls to keep him "stable" and such. It is as if we cut him off from the ultimate psychological crutch, most can't deal. That he somehow is... Man must have 5 dots in both Resolve and Composure, because anything less would have him landing some MAJOR derangements.

>Man must have 5 dots in both Resolve and Composure, because anything less would have him landing some MAJOR derangements.

I'd say its simply because he grew much, much stronger and able to deal with his emotions throug hal lthese unending trials, along with a serious reinforcement from all the loops, too. But also the soul links aren't gone, they've just decreased in strength.
>>
>>33264080

If he can't feel them anymore then they're essentially gone. They may affect the girls, but if he can't feel them then, for him at least, it has no bearing. His sorrow may cause Sylphis to cry, but if he can't know that, can't FEEL her sorrow as he has in the past... then what is the point from his own personal perspective? To suppress his own emotions could serve only to increase their own suffering, yet he is unable to know that now. Athena's salvation carries a burden none know how to bear...

Siggy saved a life at a heavy price up until the hypothecial restoration of the links. That is, until he can feel what they feel yet again, all his efforts, emotions, and all related metaphysical phenomena may be but windows unto suffering for all "linked" to him.

Which is exactly the opposite of what he wants but hey, Sir Issach Newton probably didn't want that nut/fruit/what have you to clonk him on the head either....

No... No it isn't. I only hope that "mundane" methods can overwhelm a "soul blast". I know Tsu and Kyorn are just itching to land a hit on Orion. That will at least apply negative modifiers on his shielding right?
