As you and your fellow Tenno take their first steps down the outflow pipe towards the center of Kog'gul, you pause to look behind you. The Grineer Lancers corpse lies limp and dangling amidst fetid smells and sights, a slight twinge of regret pangs in you, undoubtedly caused by your old, hidden memories. You regret that that warrior died in such a bleak, out of the way, filthy area such as this. He had fought well and his brethren would not learn of his honour this day. Dismissing the thought from your mind, you turn back down the pipe amid a flurry of blurred memories of old honours and vengeance exacted against your blood-enemies. You feel blood coursing through your veins at an increasingly accelerated rate, your desire to do battle with the foes before you increases exponentially until you are ahead of the pack, blind and deaf to their reactions, moving steadily faster.

The end of the pipe is in sight now and you have been at a dead run for at least a minute, the light at the end of tunnel slowly grows and you can feel Anima on your back mirroring your desire for battle.

One of the Younglings behind you shouts a warning but you smile mirthfully. You had already seen the threat the moment it came into your vision. Regardless of the fact you entire body was vibrating with power and the desire for combat you were still Tenno first and complete control of your awareness.

Rather then slowing down, you simply dive gracefully through the maze of sensor beams. The second you had seen these beams you had plotted a course through them and was acting upon that plan. Tucking with the dive you roll under more of the beams then leap up high to avoid a wall of them. You land and your momentum forces you forward and you continue for a few steps at your dead run before hurling yourself backwards and sliding underneath the last half dozen of the beams. Once you clear the beams you roll forwards then leap lightly to your feet, bouncing slightly as you look back at the other Tenno, impatient for them to hurry up.

You do not fail to notice the awe written into the lines of the younglings, you know that if they survive the coming storms in Kog'gul, they will most definitely be telling tales of your fearless grace at The Citadel amongst their Blooded Fang comrades.

Ashara is as graceful as you yet slightly slower and she glides through the beams as though at a ball. The younglings are another matter, one tried to copy the grace of the two leading Tenno and nearly tripped one of the beams, ashamed of himself he simply did as the other did, slowly and determinedly making their way through the beams. Only a short while later the two young younglings stand beside you and Ashara, one slightly shamefaced and the Grieving Tenno grim and determined to forge onwards.

You and Ashara turn as one and begin walking towards the light at the end of the tunnel, not before you notice written on the wall "FILTH REMOVAL UNITS" above an arrow pointing towards the beams. Next to this arrow you see a 'flammable' sign.

Shaking your head, you turn back towards to the light and glance at Ashara. You realize that you have been moving at the head of the pack for awhile a now and you seem to be making the decisions. Oddly enough, Ashara does not seem to take offence at this apparent usurpation of leadership, showing a remarkable trait not often seen in confident, capable war-leaders such as herself. The ability to let others lead.

Perhaps you will ask her about this later but right now you are coming to the end of the tunnel and must prepare for combat.

You draw your Amina and step towards the opening at the end of the tunnel. Strangely, you see what appears to be blood slick on the metal floorings. You have no idea what might be in the opening.

As you edge closer towards the the entrance, the coppery scent of blood permeates the air around you. You hold your sword to the side, slightly hidden behind you yet ready to be unleashed at a moments notice. The familiar long handle beneath your fingers would be comforting if you weren't in your element.

The closer you get to the exit the more you see of the room beyond. There is little to speak of, the room itself is simply an intersection for three other pipelines, two of them are dark and forbidding, the third is lit by luminescent bulbs hanging from the ceiling. At the curve of THIS tunnel you see a room built into the side of the walls, its door ajar and blood leaving a messy trail around it.

You and the Tenno step lightly towards the room. The coppery scent of blood seems to get stronger and stronger as you approach the entrance and you see immediately the river of blood outside the ajar door. It seems that a large number of freshly killed bodies had been dragged deep into the tunnels beyond, you look up and see that sporadic, poor lighting paints a grim, dark picture of waiting ambushes throughout the rest of the tunnels. You stand to the side to allow Grieving Tenno to breach and clear. You expected some kind of tactical movement, perhaps throwing a flashbomb in first then following up with a speedy entry.

Instead, he simply pulled out his Strun class shotgun and, barely altering purposeful stride, kicked the door so hard it flew off its hinges and hurtled deeply into the room. He followed quickly and with a clear desire to kill something, the rest of you follow in speedily, spreading out to engage the targets inside.

However, there are no foes to fight. There is nothing living within the room besides yourselves. What there is, would turn the stomach of even the basest of creatures. The walls, floors and even the ceilings are smothered in blood. There are signs that humanoids had not only spilled blood with blades here, they had then proceeded to rub themselves in the blood on the floors. It is clear to you and other Tenno that whatever happened was a debased act of degeneracy, one of the younglings points out the walls and you can see what appears to be tongue marks amongst the blurred blood. Only the faintest traces of stains remain where the blood had first been spilled yet the coppery scent was still fresh and so the kills had been recent. Whatever it was that had been rolling in and licking the blood had done the killing.

You shake your head in disgust and sheathe Anima, walking into the centre of the room to get a picture of what happened.
>>
This announcement has been brought to you by Grineer empire:

"Tenno skum!"

We now return to scheduled holocast.
>>
>>33241501
You glance up to a ventilation duct that had been torn off one its hinges and lacerated by claws. Something large and with sharp claws had bulled its way into the room from above, not before a large horde of somethings had rushed the door to distract the guards inside. You estimate that there were at least a dozen guards inside, judging by the spent shell casings you see in certain areas. Many of these guards had been taken from behind as the creatures slipped in from above via the ventilation duct. Whatever these things were they had a basic understanding of tactics and viciousness to empower them.

You begin to wonder why no alarm seems to have been sounded when you see off to the side, a large lever with a big, red light above it. On this lever, is the severed arm of a Lancer, hanging loosely and faintly dripping blood. Clearly, this was one of the last to die and he had attempted to throw the alarm. He had failed and Kog'gul still sat restful above.

One of the younglings calls out to you all and points towards a map of the sewer system pinned to one of the walls, miraculously not stained with blood. Moving over, the the four of examine it and commit it to memory, you now know exactly where you need to go. The "Central Stairway" in the middle of the sewer system, you are currently in one of three security checkpoints and you see the general paraphernalia associated with such. Weapons, armour, security manifestos and the like.

You look towards the weaponry and you realize that, though Anima is certainly a fine weapon, you lack any long-ranged potential.

You begin to search the room for anything useful. You find a manifesto stating that "The Emperors wardogs are here today. Do not disturb the peace on pain of torturous death. Signed, -General Rakka'tar."

Sadly, all your search does is turn up more Grineer weaponry. Thought filth encrusted and of poor design the weaponry is functional and efficient in dispensing death. For some reason its very clear to you that you find the idea of using a Grineer manufactured weapon is distasteful and just plain wrong. You feel the need to have a sidearm growing and you a torn between your distaste and urgent need.

Ashara notices your fidgeting and immediately discerns the problem. She walks up to you, taps you on the shoulder and unceremoniously hands you a weapon with a curt, soft, "I want this back Tenno, you're gonna have to live to do so, understand?"

The black-steel, silver inlaid handcannon weighs heavily in your palm and you feel its superb balance. Clearly, this weapon was forged by a master smith and it was forged for the hands of a Tenno. You can feel the faint hum of power emanating throughout the weapon and it seems to sing at your touch.

You expertly twirl the gun and holster it, thanking Ashara with a nod and bow. She shrugs that it was nothing, any Tenno would do same, yet you realize this was a masterful gift, regardless of the fact that you will return it later.

Feeling content that you once again have a sidearm the four of you step out of the room and you are all face with a choice. Do you return to the dark intersection and walk through the darkness, relying on senses other then sight to guide you, or do you continue down the tunnel you are already in, walking through the sporadic and flashing lights, ambush central. You know that regardless of what route you take, you will end up at the central stairwell because of your keen Tenno sense of direction and knowledge of the sewers.

You begin to walk towards the constant flickering of lights and once you step beyond the pale certainty of the luminescents that lit up the security checkpoint you are plunged into a seemingly grey wasteland, the lights flicker on and off sporadically but in unison, occasionally resulting in periods of pitched darkness. The constant flickering serves to slowly psychologically assault the moving Tenno, the periods of darkness result in all four of you stopping completely and listening for any sounds in the darkness.

You dimly become aware of slight slithering all around you, ceasing during the light periods and moving with alarming speed and silence during the periods of darkness. If you had been anything other then Tenno you would undoubtedly have missed the sounds, a quick glance at Ashara and you see that she has come to the same conclusion you have.

You are not alone in this sewer, this tunnel of surreal light and darkness. The further you move into the tunnel itself, the louder the sounds become, they are clearly moving closer towards you. You had become so used to the fact that the slithering started in darkness that when the lights turned off next it was huge shock to each Tenno when dead silence ruled the sewer.

The four Tenno know instinctively that something was amiss. Without conscious thought, they stood still, ready to explode into action at any time. Moments stretched into seconds, stretched into minutes and it felt like you had been standing in the sewer for an eternity, waiting for an attack that refused to come. The light still flickered on and off intermittently but nothing made a sound, nor a move.

The silence of the dead ruled.
>>
>>33242555
Realising that something needed to be done to break this impasse, you determinedly take a step forward.

The solid, metallic clunk of your foot on the flooring was like the announcement of Ragnarok. A terrible wail of the damned exploded from all around you and you drew your sidearm as you prepared to fight. The wailing reached a crescendo and still no sign of an enemy was presented. The four Tenno stand back to back waiting for a foe that simply refused to come and then as suddenly as the wailing began, it cut off as though choked back.

In the all encompassing silence that followed, the lights turned off and all was plunged into darkness. That was when the move was made.

In the moments before the lights returned, you hear heavy breathing and fast approaching, strong, heavy thuds. The sound is coming down the tunnel and approaching with increasing speed.

You expertly whip your sidearm around to face the coming threat, using your enhanced senses to track it through the darkness. The echoes of sound and slight vibrations through the air make it clear enough to you to know exactly where this creature is in the darkness, all you need do is wait for the opportune moment to fire.

The thudding steps get nearer and louder and with an unearthly scream something explodes into the room with you, the screaming reaches a crescendo and feels as though the pure hatred evident within is attempting to tear apart your very soul. Regardless, your aim remains true.

The lights flicker back on and there before you, exactly as you predicted, leaping through the air was a horrible, disfigured, mutated creature, claws fanned out in a terrible parody of grace and death intent on your demise.

You adjust your aim slightly and fire the weapon into the dead centre gravity of the beast, stopping it utterly. You were expecting that.

What you werent expecting was the recoil that made your bones creak and your muscles strain. In the close confines of the expanded tunnel the muzzle flash is like lightning and the weapons discharge sounds like a God slamming the gates of heaven closed and consigning your foes to a terrible hell.

The figure falls gracelessly from the air, mutilated beyond recognitio. The entirety of its upper torso had been annihilated amidst a spray of blood and gore, you had painted the roof a vivid scarlet.

You look down in slight awe at the weapon of destruction you hold in your hand. Ashara notices and says primly, laughing gaily
"I told you I want that back."

The wailing and slithering had stopped with your utter destruction of the creature and you could hear whimpering and the sound of fleeing feet.

[For audio context, this is what I envisioned the thudding and screaming to be like. Incidentally, this is easily the best scare I've ever gotten from any movie, ever.

Shaking your head, you firm your grip on the pistol and the four of you walk deeper into the warren of tunnels before you. You occasionally hear slithering and distant running and grunting as though something is watching you and communicating to each other.

The tense situation would be enough to fray the minds of most mortal soldiers, however, you are Tenno and this is just a day in the field for such as you. You are forced to a slow walk lest you be ambushed and the four of you steadily make your way towards the Central Stairwell. Halfway there, you suddenly hit by a dozen wailing voices screaming in an undeniable rage, however nothing assaults you and the screaming fades as the creatures retreat in seeming anger at their inability to harm you.

Picking up the pace ever so slightly, you are keen to get out of the sewers and proceed with your mission. Within moments, there before you stands the opening into the central stairwell. One long, spiralling ramp that proceeds along the walls and continues ever upwards to the spires of Kog'gul above.

Immediately you see more of the same sensor beams as was in the central tunnel and you step over them lightly. Strangley it was just a single beam and you couldn't place what it might activate in the room, there was no sign of anything untoward inside.

You are just about to head towards the ramp heading upwards when you hear an audible, strong *click*

You whirl in anger to see which Tenno was foolish enough to trip such an obvious trap when you see that the others look as nonplussed and furious as you, none of them had tripped anything.

You hear a heavy hiss and slowly four sets of panels on the floor slide away. Out of these four automated turrets spring up instantly, red sighting beams tracking your skull.

Without any build of momentum you are simply moving as fast as possible, cartwheeling and backflipping away from the turrets to avoid the deathly hail of bullets, you know instinctively that the other Tenno are doing the same, if not as quickly as you are.

Yet death doesnt come for you as you had expected it to. The turrets remained static and lifeless, having tracked you momentarily and dismissing you from thought after realizing that you hold no threat.

The turrets don't retract however and the four Tenno regroup after a few moments hesitation. It soon becomes apparent why the turrets are active when the walls begin to shake with the sounds of an approaching tide of dessicated flesh. You duck your head around the corner to get a full view of the screaming, ravening horde of corpselike monstrosities rushing down the tunnel. In the midst of this streaming horde stands a tall figure, shrouded in black mist, its black carapace tinged slightly with red outlines of power. Its visored gaze meets your own and cocks its head slightly at your presence then it vanishes completely, seemingly without movement.

The turrets behind you explode into violent action, unleashing waves of lead into the approaching monsters. You and the four Tenno stand back slightly, firing into the oncoming horde.

The onrushing horde is barely fazed by your poor aim and the misplaced shots only serve to anger you, fuelling your poor aim. Your otherwise immensely powerful gun is all but useless as each shot fails to topple even a single foe, let alone put dents into the horde as expected. Each shell serves only to rile the horde to a new level of anger and hatred. They surge forward, ignoring the hail of bullets from your accurate comrades and the blaze of fury that was the turrets. You feel all but useless with your sidearm and holster it, disgusted with yourself. No doubt, the younglings have seen your terrible accuracy and their faith in your superiority has been shaken.

The ravening horde finally hits the sensor and you hear, through the wailing, an almost inaudible *ping*. Dismissing it from thought, you whip Anima from its honoured place on your back and drop into a stance honed into you from years of harsh training.

The turrets continue firing but are engulfed in a seemingly endless tide of flesh, this was going to be a tough fight.

Partly enraged at your poor actions with the sidearm, your grip on Anima tightens and you feel her grip back. This is what you were made for, close combat. It is what earned you honoured place after honoured place at the table of the Golden Gods. The thought seems strikingly out of place down here in the sewers, fighting degenerate monsters yet it comforts you none the less.

Your first strike cleaves through the entirety of the front wave, you feel your muscles strengthening as you feed everything about you into a void until you become nothing but a blade.

Anima is a feather in your hands and you cut down the oncoming monsters with a fine precision, the spraying blood seeming to avoid you when in reality you have already predicted where it will go and simply decided not to be there.

Wave after wave and monster after monster, the pile before you continues to grow large until you realize something must be done to break the enemy. So far you have been doing well at stemming the tide but it is not enough, the turrets died within the first moments of being engulfed and the horde threatened to overwhelm you all.

You take a step forward and instantly, your determined, cleaving stance falls into one of fluid, graceful death. You carve a path into the heart of the horde and simply begin to scythe them down like wheat. Others fight with swords, some clash with them.

You are a dancer, light itself and fluid death given form. The enemy throw themselves upon you yet nothing they do can penetrate your incredible defense and blitzkrieg offence.

Soon enough, you burst out the back of the horde, your sword isn't just dripping blood, blood pours off it like a tide. You look back at the scene of carnage behind you and with a laugh of pure joy you dive back into the remaining enemies. Primal fear takes the place of hatred in their hearts and the flee before you, some run deeper into the room into the waiting embrace of death by Tenno,

Others still turn and attempt to flee past you into the comforting folds of darkness beyond.

None succeed.

The tight confines of the tunnel and your great, perfect reach with Anima prevents them from even getting an inch past you.
You are the gatekeeper of life and none of them have the correct papers to continue.

Soon enough, you have danced back to the other Tenno. You look down in distaste, your lower body was slick with blood and it clashes with your suits pearlescent sheen. Flicking Anima with a mighty whiplike movement, you cleanse her blade of the filthy blood. The air warps around her blade as the tip moves so fast that when it stops inches above the ground the sound of a whipcrack explodes into the silence, signalling the end of the battle.

The other Tenno stand in awe of you, clearly they had been troubled by the seemingly unbeatable odds before them. Once again, you know that you have impressed the younglings and more then made up for you failure with the sidearm

"Yes. This is Infestation at work without a doubt. I see more Corpus corpses then Grineer however. How odd. Though General Rakka'tar is indeed prosecuting a private war against the Corpus its odd that he has hundreds of their corpses in his sewers. Whats more, how would an underling like Rakka'tar get hold of an Infestation strain??" She asked herself. Her voice betraying her concern at this odd development. You were about to question her about Rakka'tar and the Infested when one of the younglings called out and pointed towards a camera watching you all!

"It wasn't online before the fight! I saw it when we walked into the room and it was clearly deactivated. It must have activated when the Infested tripped the sensor beam!" He called. Cursing, Ashara motioned for you to come quickly and all of you moved for the ramp.

You and your compatriots hurtle up the stairs without faltering for anything. There were a few uneven, poorly maintained areas on the ramps yet you all noticed them and avoided them without fail. You reached the ramp with a speed faster then any petty Grineer Lancer could hope to match and you burst out onto a landing. You reek of filth and blood and are covered in it from the waist down, you hold your sword before you in a ready stance and you undoubtedly cut an imposing, terrifying figure as you move in ready to murder all who oppose you.

Yet there is no one. There is no force of Lancers rushing to the, no traps and above all.
No alarms.

Sheathing your sword you turn, nonplussed, to Ashara. She shrugs and sheathes her own weapons quickly, motioning everyone to gather up.

"We have three objectives. The bases reactor, Rakka'tar himself and finding our own extraction. Remember, destroying the reactor and removing Rakka'tar are secondary objectives, our real goal is to get out of here alive and whole, we must reunite Tenno here with our people as is only proper." The younglings nod in unison and Ashara turns to you.
"You are out of my chain of command Tenno and as such you must decide where you will go. I will base the rest of my decisions off that." She whispered, her soft tone belying the import of her words.

You must choose

>Destroy the Reactor and ensure the bases meltdown/inoperable status.
>Assassinate Rakka'tar,
>Secure transport.

No point leaving a target unkilled. Let the others get transport while we try and take on Rakka'tar ourselves.

Also add anything you might want to say. Something suitably badass.

>I have seen the pollution this place is causing for the land. I will stop it or die in the attempt
>Rakka'tar is a warmonger. He will die by my hand
>An exit strategy is key to any successful operation, I will secure the transports

This.

You stare at Ashara for a long moment as you consider your options. Taking a deep breath you breathe "Rakka'tar" before exhaling deeply. It still pains you to speak and you feel that was all that is necessary.

Ashara nods and points to the grieving youngling. "Naglfar, you go with him." The grim Tenno nods and moves to strand slightly behind you, Ashara turns to the other youngling, "Bjorn, you secure the transport. I will find the reactor and make an end of this place. Understood?" You all nod and turn in unison towards different directions. You and Naglfar angle towards the administrative centres of Kog'gul and begin to move rapidly through the assortment of halls, staircases and other apparel.

You have been moving for awhile before you begin to notice something wrong. Anger and grief is still lined throught Naglfar's body and you know he is not handling his sisters death well. Without thinking, you reach out and grip his shoulder, stopping the pair of you in the middle of a tarnished metal corridor.

"Musn't....let pain...and hate.... rule you." You manage to croak out, he jumps at the import of your words and shrugs your hand off his shoulder. He starts walking again but not before muttering under his breath "What would you know?" It isn't clear whether he meant for you to hear.

>"I...Know."
>"Apologies....."

You stare at Naglfar long and hard and he can feel the strength of your gaze. He stops and turns back, waiting for you to catch up. You approach steadily and calmly and as you reach him you whisper.
"Everything I knew....is gone."
Before sweeping past him dramatically. He catches up and looks at you askance before replying.
"We all went through that, every single one of us went through the grief of awakening and discovering our Orokin gone. We still lose some to a terrible bleakness that nothing can stop. I was going down that path when she found me, can you comprehend what it meant to me to find out I had a blood-sister and that she was alive? It was...Incredible. I was so happy.... WE were so happy. And now she is gone.
How can you possibly understand?" He demands heatedly.

>Well, how can you?

>I do not understand.
>I apologise, I was not speaking out properly
>I only wish for no more bloodshed among your ranks

You consider his words, weighing them thoughtfully and you realize that you HAVE experienced pain. You still remember HER.

"I was.....to marry...I think...." You croak, pain constricting your voice. You see his head whip around to you. Tenno very, VERY rarely married. It was seen as an incredibly powerful ceremony amongst clans and was viewed with almost a sacred nature.

"Her Ceremony......of Farewell... Was the largest.... in living Memory." You finished sadly, grief tackling your soul and you see Naglfar bow his head in your shared pain of loss. You both glance up and nod, having come to an unspoken accord. You two walk side by side deeper into Kog'gul, hunting for Rakka'tar.

Thats all for now folks!

Welp, guess ill wait patiently until tomorrow or whenever you start it up again. fun as always. Though I feel like we get off too easy with a fair amount of these rolls, except for that one critfail.
>>
>>33244736
The way its being done is I take the best of the first three roles.

Critsuccess > Critfail > Normal roll order.

Since you guys are Tenno 40-60 [a neutral result] will result in you succeeding against most casual foes. Consider the fact that you guys are space ninja samurais and can cut through legions with ease on your own. It will take an extremely tough opponent to punish you for poor rolls.

Which is why Thread Name will be coming for you next thread!
