You are Anthony Grant and your muscles should ache from the long day of work, but the Adventurer body of Ambrosis the level 40 cleric is a resilient one. You and Lilac walk up the stairs in Boulder's subterranean guild building; the only thing to be heard are the fizzles of the torches and the echos of your footsteps.

You break the silence, “So, what do we know about King Coo-coo?”

Let's see...” Lilac explains, counting on her fingers, “He's insane. He tried to get an alchemist to make a potion of godhood, but later exiled him and his experiments which resulted in the Elimaser's Labratory raid. Half of his quests result in trippy imagery. Almost everyone in his castle is dead.” She stares at her fingers for a moment. “I think that's it.”

“If everyone's dead, how does he get anything done?”

“The Umbra are what most people conclude.”

Something about that didn't sit right with you. You pull the letter from your bag, flip it open, and skim through it. “Okay, so, no one's seen the Council of Twelve before?”

“No, that's one of his quests: Seeing the council. You stand in a room with twelve skeletons for fifteen minutes.”

“Then what happens?”

“Then you leave. All of his quests are like that.”

“Boring?”

“Not all of them, but they are all a little crazy and a little stupid.”

“Well, what's one that isn't boring?”

“There's one where you drink a potion and then you start hallucinating. The only way to make it stop is to chase down and kill a bunch of faeries. Although you're hallucinating, so they probably aren't really pixies.”

“Then what were they?”

“No one knows. Some people say you were probably fighting open air or maybe some furniture. Some say it could have been random peasants or whatever, but there simply aren't enough people in the castle for that to make sense.”
>>
>>33275972
You think over the information and go back to skimming the letter. It asked for the winner of the Adventurer travel competition. He is probably talking about you, but with his Umbra being some kind of super ninjas he might be talking about Lilac, the actual winner.

“You gonna come with me?” You ask.

“That was the plan.” She responds.

You look back to the letter. You will be accompanied by no less than 3 and no more than 5 people. Whoever the real winner is, the other is going so Lilac or you count as 1 accompaniment. Most likely someone from the <49erS> will be there just to keep tabs on things, so that's 2. The leaves 1 to 3 more people. The letter tells you to leave your arms and armor with the guards at the gate, so bringing people to act as body guard probably wouldn't work. Although, if everyone's dead would there even be guards on duty? Maybe you could just force your way in. Although the Umbra could be a problem if they actually exist. The First Man definitely wasn't in the game before, so all bets are off at this point. It's almost like this is a different world Elder Tales was based on, rather than the other way around. If only you could find someone who actually...

“Aideen!” Your shouting shakes loose some bits of dust from the ceiling and the echo travels up the stairway.

“Huh?” Lilac looks at you, puzzled.

“She's a Lander, right? Well that means she was born here. She'd know everything! She'd know if the Umbra are real, she'd know how do deal with the King, she'd know everything!”

Lilac rubs the side of her face in thought. “Yeah. That might actually work!”
>>
>>33275988
The two of you pick up the pace and are soon running up the stairs, reaching the top, and emerging into the cool night air. You both race across the patchwork of asphalt and cobblestone in the direction of the inn. Your footfalls are all that can be heard in the empty streets. When you both finally reach the inn you burst through the door and Lilac follows behind.

“Welcome!” The person behind the desk says, “How can I help you?”

You both ignore him and rush up the stairs to Canis' room.

You kick open the door and shout, “Canis, where's Aideen!” It is then you notice the woman was there, in the room, head to your best friend's crotch. Canis looks in your direction. You feel the sudden need to say something, but all you can com up with is “Uhhh...”

“Oh my.” Lilac comments.

Canis looks down, then back to you. “I found her!”

“Sorry!” You exclaim before grabbing Lilac and sprinting out of the room, slamming the door behind you.

After a couple minutes of awkward silence Lilac says, “They seem to be doing well.”

“Yeah.” You can feel the blood filling your face. You needed something to fill the empty silence, “So, uhhh... how are you doing?”

“Good.” She responds, “Hey, do you think these bodies can get pregnant of impregnate others?”

“I-I have no idea.”

“Maybe we should tell Canis to slow things down till we know.”

“We don't have to worry about that.” You say, “He's not... That interested in that area.”

“Hu- Oh! Ohhh....” Lilac rubs her chin, “Maybe I should buy them some olive oil.”

“Hey, you know what's great? Changing the subject!”

“Okay, well, what do you want to talk about?”

“What do we know about the Kingdom of Misvert?” You ask.

“Well, it shares a boarder with the Mojave Territory and goes as far east as the Frontier. It's as far north as... I want to say Wyoming? Geography isn't my strong suit. And it goes as far south as the server line. It's filled with mountains, has six raids, two of which the king did NOT cause, the other four were from vanilla so they're only level 50. There are a bunch of mountain, forest, and desert goblins around, and they all hate each other.” She begins counting on her hands again, “I... I think that's it?”

“Well, what about the people? Doesn't the place have a history?”

“Well, it's a far flung colony that was separated from the eastern kingdoms after the Frontier Catastrophe.”

“The what?”

“It happened before the game began. Pretty much a forest guardian awoke after a thousand years of sleep, saw the colonists cutting down all the trees, and said 'No~!' That's why it has no roads or anything. There are some NPCs that live there as frontiersmen, but they mostly just give you quests to prove your hunting skills or make you commune with nature, or whatever.”

“Okay. So the people?”

“The people are mostly made up of the descendants of the colonists from Europe, but, after the catastrophe they could no longer receive anything from their respective over-seas kingdoms, so they founded the Kingdom of Misvert whose royal family was supposedly chosen by the Fae, but there are no Fae in the region, so it was most likely a lie.”
>>
>>33277487
“I see.”

“Other than that, they were pretty much your standard 'Adventurer! You must deliver this book to the library for me! It is already late and I have more important things to do like stand around doing nothing!' NPCs.”

“Is that all?”

“Well, every so often they'd mention something about the Umbra which was the only clue to their possible existence.”

You think over the information some more. Not-quite-silence creeps back into the scene.

“So...” Lilac asks, “Who do you think we should take with us?”

“Ummm...” You respond, “With me, you, and someone from the <49erS> that leaves 1 to 3 people, so...”

Takeshi can be thrown to the sharks.

>>
>>33277508
>2
Judicature
Canis

The lander might have some sort of mind warp thing going on to obey the crazy not-lich king, Trove is a pirate and the king would probably throw a butch fit, Takeshi would try and start fights with ninjas or inadvertently join the king, and taking any less invites trouble, as does taking more.
>>
>>33277508
Can we also ask to get Tabula from the 49erS to come with us? Would be nice to have a bro with us
>>
Question for people who want to take 3 people.

If shit goes down, and we have to escape. Don't we want the BRO as our evacuation vehicle?

If we take 3, that only leaves 2 people to pilot/power the landship.

“Well, we gotta take Judi.” You say.

“I agree.” Lilac responds, “It's only logical you do.”

“We should probably take Trove as well in case we need someone to tank us out of there. Also, Canis.”

The door opens. “Someone mention me?” You look to see Canis standing there in the doorway, pants on this time.

“We're going to talk to a king,” You say, “He's crazy and gets high and hangs out with dead people.”

“Cool. What'd you need Aideen for?”

“We're trying to figure out if she knows anything about the king before we go over there.”

“Ah.” He looks back into the room, “Babe, you know anything about a crazy druggie king?”

You hear her voice from within the room. “Can't you wait for me to put clothes on before asking me questions?”

“She's still putting her pants on.” Canis says, “Let's go to the bar. Crazy king conversations sound like thirsty work.” He turns back towards the inside of the room, “We'll be down stairs when you're ready, babe.”

He takes a step through the door and quietly shuts the door behind him. He motions you to follow him and the three of you walk down stairs to the tavern's bar. Upon ordering four boozestrocities you all sit down at a table. Canis hands out the horrid concoction to you, Lilac, and an empty chair. You and Canis both drink deeply, but Lilac just stares at the drink.

“Drink!” Canis commands, “It's good for you.”

“I don't me when I'm drunk.” Lilac admits.

“Then don't get drunk.” Cannis responds, “Just get a little tipsy. Just sip it.”

“I just-”

“Look, we're friends and friends drink together. That's the law of friendship.” He begins to point between you and himself, “I mean, look at me and Ambrosis! We've been friends for so long we could be legal experts on friendship. We've got more than 21 years of experience in friendship! Our friendship could drink, and if we could finally figure out when we first became friends, we'd drink on its birthday!”

You cut in, “We tried to one year. We couldn't figure out what day it was in the month, but it had to be August-”

“Or September.” Canis adds.

“Or September.” You repeat, “So we drink every day of that month.”

“That was one hell of a beginning to fall semester.”

“Didn't you almost vomit on your professor?”

“Almost is the key word.”

You hear the footsteps of someone coming down the stairs and look up to see Aideen. She travels across the floor to the table.

Canis holds up one of the boozestrocities. “Here, babe, drink this.” He says.

Without even bothering to ask what it was, Aideen takes the cup and drinks until the entire thing is empty. She lets out a satisfied sigh.

“Uhhhh...” Canis is quite shocked by this.

“What?” Aideen responds.

“You're going to need some water and bread before you pass out.”

“W-... What did I just drink?”

You cut in, “A stein full of mixed hard liquors, so... ten or so shots?”

Lilac does not look very amused. “We should probably ask her what we can before she passes out.”

You start to panic a little trying to think of what to ask so suddenly. “Okay, uhh... What do you know about the mad king?”

“Who?” She responds.

Canis puts down another stein in front of Aideen. “Okay. Drink this.”

“Okay, what's in this one.” She responds to Canis.

“Water.” Canis replies. “Also, eat this bread.” He hands her a loaf of bread, which she begins to chew on and wash down with the water.

“King Aubron.” Lilac says, “What do you know about King Aubron?”

“He's our just and rightful king who descends from Lord Sol, chosen of the Sun and Sky Fae.”

Lilac whispers to you, “There's no such thing as Sun Fae or Sky Fae.”

“Okay,” You says, “What do you know about the Umbra?”

“The who?” Aideen asks, “I've never heard of them.”

You let out a sigh. It was understandable. If you have a legion of secret ninjas chances are no one's going to know who they are because they're ninjas.

“Wait.” Lilac responds, “If you don't know about them how do you know they are a THEM and not an IT?”

The group stares at Aideen drinking her water and eating her bread till she is done with both. Then Aideen finally answers with a nervous, “L-l-l-l-lucky guess?”

“Makes sense to me!” You announce, “Whelp, I guess that concludes it, the Umbra aren't real!” You dust your hands, pretending to have a job well done, “Looks like it's case closed!” You then put on a serious face and point to the Lander, “On a more important note, what do you think of Adventurers like us? I mean, until about a month ago you all just stood around doing nothing and telling us to do things.”

“Uhh....” Aideen bites her lip, “Actually what's what you guys were like until the … databasing you call it? You all just walked around with blank expressions killing monsters and making items.”

“Fascinating.” Lilac responds, “So to us you were robots, and to you, we were robots.”

“What's a robot?” Aideen asks.

You wave a hand to dismiss the thought. “Don't worry abou-”

Aideen's head suddenly crashes into the table.

Canis scoops up her head and delicately leans her back, cradling her. “Babe! Babe speak to me.”

He begins to slap her head back and forth till she lets out a gurgled, “Ghghuwha?”

“Wow. That hit her all at once.” Lilac comments.

“Babe!” Canis shouts, trying to smile and look calm, “Babe you need to stay awake and drink some water.”

“Ggggngnnnoooo!” Is Aideen's response.

“Yes, babe. Yes you do.” He motions for you to go get some more water, which you comply with.

You leap over chairs and tables, slamming into the bar as you didn't slow down enough. “WATER!” You shout, “NOW!”

The bartender looks around the bar before he grabs a clean stein and fills it up with well water in front of you. You snatch the stein and sprint back over to the group, placing the cup on the table.
>>
>>33281569
“Alright, babe.” Canis says, “I need you to drink all this water for me, do you think you can do that for me?”

“Gnnnmmmuh?”

“That's not a yes or a no, babe.”

“Mmmmmmyes.”

“Okay, babe, I'm gonna hand you the cup. Do you think you can hold the cup?”

“Nmmmnngngngnnoooo.”

“Okay, babe. I'm going to hold it for you, but you need to drink from it.” He lifts the cup up to her lips and she begins to drink from it and Canis holds it there until all the water is gone. “Alright, how are you doing, babe?”

“Ghghhhghhgooood.”

“Do you know where you are?”

“Thhhhhuhhh Iiiiiiinn.”

You know this is a serious situation, but the strangest urge creeps into your mind. “Do you...” You begin to ask, “Have a dick?”

“Mmmmmmyes.” She says, lifting a hand into the air, and then having it flop onto Canis' lap. “Iiit's righ here, an' it's all mine.” She then vomits all over said lap.

Canis begins to rub her back. “Feeling better, babe?”

She gives him a nod.

You can't stop yourself. You know this probably isn't as funny as you think it is, but you need to do it. “Is it salty, sweet, or spicy?”

“Ggwha?”

“I was actually thinking about that.” Lilac interjects, “Cactus fruit has taste, so would something produced by a plant or animal have a taste?”

You look over to Lilac, “What?”

“Purely for scientific reasons, of course.”
>>
>>33281599
“I...” Aideen responds, “I don't know what that is.”

“Taste?” You try to explain, “Flavor? What happens when you stick things in your mouth?”

“H....hot.” Aideen says.

Canis cracks up. Aideen looks up to him. Canis cranes his head down for a kiss, but Aideen responds by facing away and vomiting once again. Canis sighs. He looks over to you two and says “You two can probably go to bed, I'm just gonna watch over her for a while.”

“Okay.” You respond with a nod.

Lilac nods as well.

The two of you walk away from the scene.

“Alcohol poisoning is a thing, apparently.” Lilac states.

“Yeah.” You say, “Now I really regret not taking Cure by now.”

“Would that work?”

“It works on everything, supposedly.”

“Well, we leveled up recently, why don't you just get it?”

It seems like a good skill to have.

Have you worked out a skill system yet? The wiki page implies that there are multiple grades to skills, instead of just a binary thing.

Do we have other points to spend? Are there level requirements for skills?

I vote for the Heaven's Law skill point path:

>Heaven's Law
>[Defensive Magic - Special] Summons a rain of bright energy from the heavens that counterbalances an enemy's might, weakening its offensive capabilities. Also works on boss monsters. Its drawbacks include a long cooldown time, and the short duration of this skill's effect. When using this skill, pillars of light descend from the heavens, pinning down the enemy while chains of red light entwine around the target.
>>
>>33281946
How fast does the ability we spend points on start working. Aka would be be able to save one or two specifically incase we absolutely need a spell on the list that we didnt get before?

>>33282018
We got a bunch of levels in one shot recently so we have a surplus. We really should get some advice from lilac or any local high level clerics known for being competent. dont wanna get advice from a server retard by accident after all.
>>
>>33281791
Ethereal Chant
(Angel's Whisper)

Heavy hit, heavy heal, only down side is that you needs to be up close and personal (we would be anyways) and long cool down, perfect for bosses.
>>
>>33282099
I prefer Parabellum.
>Parabellum
>[Miscellaneous Magic - Support Magic - Special] Restores a target's mind and body to its optimum. The target's cooldowns would be accelerated by 20%-100%. Although a powerful skill, it can only be used once a day (cooldown lasts for 24 hours). When cast, it has the appearance of an orange light emanating from the user.

“Yeah, I guess I should.” You respond. You open up the skills menu and stare at all the abilities in front of you. You scroll down to the Restoration Magic section and look at Cure. You read the description aloud, “A basic cure magic that removes negative status effects from a single ally.”

“Sounds like the one.” Lilac says.

You read it over again in your head, just to make sure this is the one you want, and you spend your skill point on it. You probably won't be seeing that skill point ever again. You can't imagine being a Foxtail, spending a skill point is bad enough, but losing entire skills whenever you level up? That's just crazy.

You contemplate the skill you just got. You could probably experiment with it on Aideen right now. What's the worst that could happen, you cure her of some random disease?

You turn around and look at the empty tavern, save for the bartender, Canis, and Aideen. You focus your mind on the thought of casting Cure. You take in a deep breath and then exhale, pushing some form of thought towards her. A blue light erupts from underneath her and she suddenly sits up.

“I... I fell much better now, actually.” You hear her say across the room.

“My god...” You say, thinking of all the implications. “CANIS!” You shout, “I can cure all the downsides of being drunk!”

“Is that what you just did?” He asks.

You give him a nod.

“Bad ass.”

“But there is something more important than that!”

“There is?” He asks, eyebrow raised.

“We can finally drink to our friendship's birthday.”

His eyes widen. “My god...”

You give him a knowing nod.

Lilac interjects, “Shouldn't we go to sleep if we're leaving for Castle Sunset tomorrow?”

“Why? It's not like we can get a hangover!”

Lilac mumbles something.

“Come on, drink with us!”

She sighs, “Fine.”

“Boozestrosities for everyone!”

>Coyote fucking shit up
Nobody noticed that is was coyote, at all, I didn't until he actually showed up Also- the finish line was the location coyote was ANYWAY. I don't get the bitching about that

My own grievances about this
>make agreement to stop if the coyote is fucking shit up

WHY DID YOU DO THIS. Even IF he was fucking up another team, what could we possibly have done? He instantly killed a level 90 necromancer, and it took like an entire server to kill him, and it just shut down the server. beyond an ABSURD amount of plot bullshit, Coyote was quite possibly the most impossible enemy to fight.
>>
>>33283136
>she suddenly decided making a steam tank was too hard for her
Firstly, she just decided that reinventing the steam engine would take more than four days, which it probably should've. Second, instead she built a magnet car. That doesn't speak of retardation.
>The ridiculous amount of sleep she seems to require
What bizarro-land are you in where sleeping a lot is a sign of retardation?

You hear Aideen from across the room, “Wooo!”

You hear Canis respond to her, “Don't drink it all in one go, babe.”

The four of you soon start drinking. Steins of water and loaves of bread are readily available for you, but you don't use it. You and Canis begin to drink so heavily that you can barely stay balanced in your chairs.

“H-H-Heey.” Lilac says.

You turn to her, keeping your arm on the table to keep balance. “Yeeeeah?” You ask.

“W-What'd'ya think of... of J-Judi.” She wobbles back and forth as she speaks.

“Why're yoooou always askin' 'bout that?” You attempt to literally swat the question away, almost falling from your chair as you do so.

“Cauuuuse...” She flails her hands upon you, “Cause she ask' me tooooo!”

“Well that's not fair!” You respond, “If she wants to know she's gotta... She's gotta man up and come see me on her own. But not, cause she's not a man. OR IS SHE!?” You try to waggle your eyebrows to denote a sudden plot twist, but end up falling out of your chair instead.

Lilac laughs so hard she falls backwards out of her chair.

You rest your head on the cool, wood floor.

“Sooooo?” Lilac asks, flopping her body over to face you, “What'd'ya think of her?”

No, she was a bitch when she decided to call it a night and /tg/ decided that meant that we were going to take over. It was a completely understandable reaction to what we did.
>>33283388
>We were joking,
One person was. More people were combative about it. People also, correctly, pointed out why it was a bad idea. She never said she was dropping out of the race, she just said she was done for the night, and it was the middle of the night.
>Nobody noticed that is was coyote, at all, I didn't until he actually showed up
It was clear from the text that coyote was present in the town. People pointed this out. Then people actually argued that Lilac must've been working with Coyote or something, it's not really clear what they think is going on.
>>
>>33283409
X Remember that modern marvels about trains?
She probably won't remember this anyway, but I'd rather not get into "I like another girl" whilst we are going into the clutches of a madman.
>>
>>33283566
Think we got the hint from TinyFather?

That we can't avoid that question forever?

At this point she's probably asking because she wants to know, not because Judi asked her to.

Rape was a bad word choice. I mean one person is an artificial construct raised in a medieval setting, the other has had an actual education and is a living being. It just seems like the players take advantage of the Landers.
>>
>>33284258
That's not even close to awkward. If you want to get into actual awkward territory, you should be asking if entities bound to a Summoner can consent.

wouldnt npcs also be hundreds of years old and never age, being born with their age and wisdom?
the npcs that were in the game are still here, and it doesnt sound like they aged or died during the game unless they were an event related death, so an npc from the release of the game would be older than the oldest adventurer

“I dunno.” You say.

You stare up at the ceiling made of wooden slats and plaster. A white, dull, dead slab of material keeping the above floor from crashing down on top of you. If only everything could be so simple as that. A function for every form, a form for every function. A simple world where everything fits together nicely.

“You dunno?” Lilac asks. You hear her drag her body closer to you. You feel her hair close to your face. “Something wrong with the ceiling?”

“Just wishing life was so simple.” You reply.

“Ah.” She responds, “Not sure if you like her or not?”

“She... I dunno. At first I was more attracted to you. Then you got angry at me for no reason and then I hated you. Now I don't hate you again and things are just very... complicated.” You let your eyes wander over to Canis and Aideen, now noticing that they had both passed out.

“Sorry about getting angry at you.” She says, “But it's for the better, you wouldn't want me on account of...” She pauses. You look over to her and see her laying on her back perpendicular to you, pointing at her head with her right hand. She lets her arm flop down to her side and she continues, “I just don't think our personalities match well.”

“Why did you point to your head?” You ask.

She looks up to meet your eyes. “What do you mean?”

“You were pointing at your head just now when you said, 'on account of.'”

“Oh.” She looks back to the ceiling, “I'm not going to tell you.”

You look back to the ceiling. “Any reason you're complicating things more?”

“Because every time I've told someone something bad happens.”

“Just because something bad happened doesn't mean it's related to you telling people.”

“What?” You look over to her. She's still looking up at the ceiling.

“It's kinda funny, isn't it? You spend your whole life being told how smart you are and you just make that your identity. You're the smart one. That's who you are. There is no solution you can't figure out, there is no question you can't answer. Then one day you wake up and...” She her hands over her eyes, “I'm sorry. I'm just rambling now.”

“No, it's okay.” You say, “Keep rambling. It's like crying with your mouth.”

She starts laughing. “What?” She looks up at you, her eyes are a little red and watery.

“Yeah. Crying is like a release of emotions, right? Well rambling's the same thing, just, you know, expressing it differently.”

She looks back up to the ceiling. “I never thought of it that way.”

“So, what were you saying?”

She is silent for quite a while, breathing in and sighing over and over again until, “I've always had this need to be smart. Because that's what I saw myself as: the smart one. I aced every math exam I got, I went into science and engineering, I got a job designing weapons. Numbers and facts were my life. They were apart of me. Then...”

“Then?” You ask.

There is another long silence. “My grandfather had a stroke when I was very young. I don't remember much of him, but what I remember the most is when he asked me to get him some juice. At least, that's what I thought he was asking for. I ran over to the fridge, got a box of juice, and came running back to him. I handed him the juice box and he just stared at it like he had no idea what it was or why I had given it to him. He just stared at me until I left.” She chuckles again, “He's kinda lucky in a way.”

“How so?”
>>
>>33285391
“He didn't get worse from the point of the stroke. He was just... gone, I guess. It wasn't slow or gradual, it just happened.” She starts getting louder, “He didn't have to think about it. He didn't have to live knowing that with each passing second he's slowly losing everything he was.” And louder, “He doesn't have to know that one day he's going to be some blob of flesh, a burden to everyone, unable to even understand basic fucking math!” She starts screaming, “It's just not fair, damn it! I was so good! I had everything going for me! Then one day...” She begins to sob. “One day a doctor just tells me I have brain cancer and that... That that's that and there's nothing he can do! I can't focus at work, so I get fired, so I lose my health insurance, so I'm just stuck knowing things will only get worse.” She continues to sob. “I was so smart and now I can hardly remember what to take into account while making designs. In a year, I probably won't even be able to spell my name!”

You do the only thing you can think of and take her into your arms.

“It's just not fair!” She cries out, “It's just not fair!”

After what feels like hours she finally calms down.

“I'm sorry.” She says, “I... I'm just...”

“It's okay.” You say. “Nothing wrong with crying.”

“Thank you.”
>>
>>33285413
She moves to get up and you release her from your embrace. She wipes her face clean of tears and lets out a deep sigh. “We should probably get these two to bed.” She motions over to Canis and Aideen, still slumped over.

You cast Cure on both of them to ensure whatever hangover they may have had was now gone. You look back down to the tiny sorceress and say, “I don't think you really have the height to carry people up stairs.”

She lets out another sigh. “Yeah, I guess you're right.” She looks down, then back up to you, “I guess that means there's nothing for me to do here, so I'll just head back to my shop and get some rest.”

“Okay.” You respond before she turns around and leaves. You walk over to your best friend and heft him up, “Come on, drunkie, you can't be leaving your girl's dick just out in the open like that.” You grab up Aideen and heft her over your other shoulder, “Can't be leaving you girl around like that either.” You cross the bar, head up stairs, and lay them both into the same bed. With a satisfied nod to yourself you head to bed. Who knows what crazy adventures await you tomorrow.

You know, we DO specialize in healing magic, being a cleric and all.

I was actually sorta serious about that curing cancer thing.

Less so about the hitler thing.

Does cancer carry over into Elder Tale?

IIRC, she's unsure whether she still has cancer at all. So we'd have two goals. Curing the cancer if it's still there, and then trying to reverse the damage. The one ability about cooldown's sounds promising for at least a temporary fix.

Can we vote on buying that one next thread?
>>
>>33285670
She was having issues with her engineering in the Race arc. In fact, that's what started the initial shitstorm, when we pointed out that her skills kinda sucked.

Not sure if it's still there, but we can try to find out.
>>
Can we cast Cure on takeashitty to make him less stupid?
>>
Y'know, if the game is recognizing cancer as a debuff, killing Lilac should cure it. The memory loss from a single death is negligible, and we can just rez here right there.
>>
>>33285784
That actually might work.
>>
>>33285764
Even if the cancer's gone, the damage it did to her brain would, presumably, still be there.

I'm not really sure how we'd check for cancer.
>>
>>33285764
I doubt our Cure spell would do anything, BUT maybe if we can overskill. We need to find someone with more experience than us. Maybe someone from her guild?

>>33285784
Maybe it isn't a debuff sort of thing, but more of a glitch.

In that case, it'd probably be near impossible to remove. We'll need to find a level 90 scribe.
>>

and so we brought FREEDOM to japan.
Again.
>>
>>33285784
uh... you do remember that Killing people causes memory loss?
that is, unless we use Resurrection i'm thinking... hm... but would we get an icon marking us as PKs? I doubt that, considering nobody got caught in elder tales apart from people talking about them. hmmmmmmm.
Most of the party would be against it for sure, seeing as dying is usually painful no matter the circumstances, but I think we could be stubborn enough to pull it anyway.
>>
>>33285882
The memory loss from a single death is extremely minor, luckily.

Friendly reminder: She's already died and has been rezed by you.

You probably blocked it from memory because that was the same time as the big shit storm.
>>
>>33285936
She might have to respawn completely, though.
>>
>>33285931
Er, you sure? If I'm remembering right, krusty said he had a cat he couldn't remember after 1 death. I can't really recall.
I wonder who's died the most in log horizon so far.
>>
>>33285981
PvPers, probably.

They might not even remember the old world at all.
>>
Is memory loss only from cathedral revives, or does dying and being resurrected by a player before your corpse vanishes count?
>>
>>33286010
any time a player dies
>>
>>33285882
>you do remember that Killing people causes memory loss?
I literally mention it in the post. Maybe you'd died a few too many times. The loss is extremely minor. It took a while for people to notice at all.
>>33285936
Interesting. We need to figure out a way to check for cancer.
>>
>>33285999
Well, PVPers usually took all their best PVP gear out and did unfair fights. If I had to guess, I'd say someone in black knights, or D.D.D guilds, or maybe one of the combat guilds leaders.
>>33286023
It's "cathedral" revives. They explained that. The body breaking up is what causes memory loss, but before the body dissapates, revival causes no loss of memory.
>>
>>33286076
pretty sure it's whenever they die since they lose exp when that happens and thus their experiances and by proxy memories.
>>
>>33285936
if we max cure would that be enough?
what if we use our overskill to make medical levers imbued with cure and attatch it to the cancer?
>>
>>33286125
Nah, I think it was the whole "Mind and Body reforming at the cathedral" thing.

In making a copy of your body, some things are lost. For adventurers, it's XP and memories.

But if you don't have to reform anything, the Mind can be called back into the body with no loss, or coerced into not leaving at all.
>>
>>33286125
Hm, yeah.... I dunno. You're probably right, but I'll keep in it my mind. There's not much information on being revived instead of dying at the cathedral as of yet.

Fun fact- shiroe has a talisman that lowers experience loss, the sneaky bastard.

>This is a Phantasmal-class talisman that imitates the legend of the flower that blooms with the moon's cycle. This item blesses the soul, such that when its wearer dies, the wearer's experience loss is reduced, and the wearer's respawn time is shortened. It contains the ability to strengthen attack magic and defense magic of the mind-attribute.
>>
>>33286180

We need to invent a MRI.

And invest point in that miracle spell that completely fixes body and mind.
>>
>>33286338
you can't
if the apex of tech in this universe is a steam engine (as explained by the author. Other tech possible, but impossible to meet the skill requirements to use it) there's no chance of an mri

also we archived yet?

>>33286378
True. True.

I wonder if Judi knows. She must have, as she sighed when we spazzed out.
>>
>>33286378
But we do have magical radiation for treatment though. Holy light.
>>
>>33286338
At the very least, it'll make her feel like her old self again for a little while, whilst we come up with a better solution.

It also sounds like a great spell to have on hand, in general.
>>
>>33286447
Imagine the landers that would pay for that service.

Also, we would do that (use a skill point) for any member of our team, no matter if we are gunning for them or not. We would do the same for Judi any day.

It never gets easier even if you see these patients everyday. That is why a lot of us get so passionate about the war on cancer.

>>
>>33287196
Fear-mongering is never a good idea. Quests already have a tendency towards paranoia.

Fear-mongering in a manner that decreases our ability to trust you is an even worse idea.

Fear-mongering in a manner that decreases our trust and in reference to a massive shit-storm that halted the quest is a truly awful idea.

You ever read Shadow Quest? The QM liked to post those Ron Paul doom macro images. "It's happening" and the like. Eventually it got to the point where the playerbase was constantly freaking out because they couldn't tell when it was a joke and when shit was actually going down. Eventually, the QM stopped using them almost entirely. It was pretty much the only thing that the QM learned through-out the hundred and fifty plus thread quest.

To be fair, the quest line and combat style we chose did put us in "It's happening" situations near all the time. Well, at least when we weren't causing spaghetti to happen.
Shadow master did go a little over the top with the joking, though, yeah.

Any npcs you saw ingame were hereditary job positions. Once the databasing happened the amount of Landers you saw increased a ton.

Thank you all for reading.

Next time there will be a play, I promise.

If we want to go full mad scientist, we could probably open up Lilac's skull and poke around enough before she explodes into bubbles. After all, morningstar has already shown that you can do things that would normally kill someone as long as the HP damage is low enough.
>>
>>33288135
Oh shit, Canis is a physician isn't he? If he leveled up his sub-class enough, he might be to diagnose Lilac without the rooting around in her skull.
>>
>>33288135

So we are going to play the Hua Tuo to Lilac's Cao Cao?
