Previously: Cerulean arrived upon a mysterious island after a mission to rescue shipwrecked personnel had gone awry due to mysterious humanoid monsters.

Meeting the natives, Cerulean found aid in the form of a humanoid monster by the name of Kurojo, a tusked Kahkori of Kakarkiko island.

With his and his uncle's help, she had been reunited with Marine, her friend from training and childhood.

After killing a fierce foe reviled by Kahkori, Cerulean fell ill, and was given a cure by Kurojo. In the village, she learned of a strange ability and found herself able to utilize "Aura."

Journeying with Kurojo, Cerulean and Marine make it to the joint city of races amongst the island chain. It is there in Raguna city that she fights to the death with a rambunctious Smolderan.
Slipping out of her right mind, she executes her foe with absolute certainty, earning her some recognition with a Smolderan leader and the right to engage in a hunting exam at his request.

Cerulran takes a test with another species known as the Araraki, an infallibly polite and timid representative of her people.
Upon completing the hunt, they are put through a naming ceremony and engage in some festivities, taking a somewhat heavier turn as Akabaron, Vi-Smohkan of the Smolderan, goes over his deal with Cerulean.

Charter the construction of a boat with Kurojo's aid...

You awaken the next morning, your head pounding as though you just took a pewter-grade punch to the noggin. You realize your mouth is dry and wander from your bed and into the bar to get some water, blinking your eyes blearily as you slurp down mug after mug much to the ferryne on staff's chagrin.

“Schmell like pheesh, drink woter like pheesh. Mowst be pheesh.”

“Shu... shut your mouth...” You mutter in your own tongue in your morning haze. Light streams in from outside, filtering through a light mist from the coastline bathing the city in a subtle glow amid the festive decorations. The hustle and bustle of the city carries on and soon Kurojo and Marine join you for some morning watering.

“Hey... Uh, Ceru. Did we ever get paid?” Marine yawns as she's eating a roasted mystery meat for breakfast. You can see the slight pooling of the rare blood in the corner of her cheek. Your ear twitches in mild irritation.

“Marine, swallow first...”

“We should talk to the request board agent before we leave... Uh. Say, wasn't there someone trying to talk to us yesterday?” Kurojo holds a hand to his head, grimacing a bit in the pain of his own hangover as he tries to remember what happened.

“I... don't remember. I just remember you called me pretty and then... And then...” You start to blush, “I don't remember.”

>What happened last night?

Some complication came up with the money, I bet.

Hopefully we didn't spend it all on carnival games. I want to remember carnival games.

Also how dare that cat question our copious water habits.

This is the quietest AoPH I've ever seen. Weird.

Now that I think about it, whatever happened with the armor preperations from the monster? We get armor, yeah?

Ah yisss. That's something that needs taking care of.

We do seem to get into melee a bit more than I'd like to.

I think we should pick a melee attack (crossroad killing's stamina cost is bit high for my tastes for what I have in mind) just in case something gets in our face.

Or at least some kind of desperation move/tactic to get emergency separation.

built over time and slowly, no need to rush this. just when we have left over points.

“I remember we kept Yasake here for a bit... I get the feeling that we said a lot of bad things to him...” Jojo mutters as he focuses hard on recollecting the prior day.

Marine snickers,”Oh, I remember that, I kept talking about how I'd fight him for Hao's radiant bum!”

You throw a palm to your face, “I.. remember that now... But weren't we paid? I remember getting those little bone things...”

Jojo snaps his fingers,”Right! We went to the Crafter's guild! And... And...” His eyes close, and he chuckles nervously, comical sweat beading at his brow, “The armor we commissioned from the remains...”

“I don't remember that part Jojo...” You lean over, and so does Marine, “What did we do?”

“I think we'll be surprised in a few days.” Is all he'll say on that part.

Money's all gone, at least, what you all got from the hunt... Better be worth it.

You sniffle a little bit and sneeze, leering over at the ferryne at the counter, “And they're still calling us fish. Can you believe that?”

“But Ceru, the face you and Marine made...”

“What?” The two of you say in unison, staring at him more intensely.

“Nothing, nevermind.” Jojo waves off the two of you, “So, what's the plan today?”

“Indeed,” A familiar voice announces its presence from behind you, sending a nervous shiver down yours and marine's spines. You both turn to see a humorless Yasake standing there. “May the obnoxious ladies get ready? Lord Hao has commanded your presence.” You can see the popping of a vein from within his feathered brow. He's not happy.

Well, not as grovel-y as that, but similar.
We vastly apologize for the drunken antics. And don't object to seeing hao for now.

Though, what does he want to talk to us for? A good thing to ask on the way over.
>>

Yasake breaks the moment with a slight chuckle,”Well, as long as one of you professes apology, that's enough for me.” He leers at Ultramarine, and she leers right back at him, an electric tension between the two of them.

“I'm going to kiss Hao's butt.” Marine states incredibly flatly.

“Best bring an army, because I'll never let an unrefined brat such as you touch my lord.”

There's a clash between their auras as a passionate fire rises from Marine, only to be stopped cold by Yasake's radiant devotion.
You and Kurojo share an eye twitch, what really happened the other night?

The three of you head to Hao's estate via carriage as Yasake explains the reasons for your summons.

“This ongoing festival is in the honor of you two, visitors from the glass city. My Lord seeks to introduce you properly to everyone, as is only right. However the two of you must get ready to make a proper appearance to the public. Farmers, fishers, craftspeople, hunter, ferrine, Kahkori, Smolodhan, and even Araraki will be present. Everyone will meet you.”

Your eyes widen at the prospect, peering outside of the carriage's screen to observe passersby. You're going to be introduced to all of them soon. Your heart beats a bit harder in your chest. “I'm going to stand in front of... everyone?”

“I'm going to make a public declaration that Hao's butt is mine.” Marine snickers.

“I will end you.” Yasake clenches a fist so hard it trembles, yet the rest of his body stays absolutely serene.

“Marine, please...”

“My lord also has something to discuss with you. He has reason to believe that you are... missing something, yes?”

>[] How do you answer?
>>
>>33278854
"And what would lead your Lord to that assumption?"
>>
>>33278854

The thought of “Meeting” everyone sends shivers of terror down your spine. They're all going to see you. They'll all know that your here... But... There's something about that...
Getting to know everyone. It's something you never really got to do with the people back at the dome. This is a real first time.

“Lady White?”

You snap to attention. Right, he asked you a question,”Well, I did yell at everyone in the guild hall about it...”

“My Lord says that he has a likely suspect, however he's unaware of what we must recover for you.”

“Wait, recover for me? I was going to do that myself I never asked for-”

Yasake raises his hand calmly, to beg your silence, “My lord need not be asked to do what he desires. Lady White, you did not... Dislike my lord's company, did you?”

>>33279558
We haven't really been taught that. So the only real answer as to where we 'learned' not to trust him from is Akabaron. And we don't want anyone to poke and pry on that matter. Especially if it does turn out that Hao's brother is around.
>>
>>33279583
Considering we dont trust Sabrina...like at fucking all, i think their is precedent for us to not have a natural trust of the powerful.
>>
>>33279616

Regardless of all this, saying the authority makes us nervous is entirely true and doesn't really need to be taught and also is exhibited with pretty much any authority figure we've been with. Besides maybe the boss, and even then, we're nervous to hell and back if we have reason to think we're being called in because we fucked up.

>>33279616
She's one of a number of leaders we've met.

>>33279687

>>
>>33279702
We generally don't mesh well with assertive authority figures.
>>
>>33279764
Not true. We like them assertive. It's why we trusted Akabaron so easily, since he reminded us of someone.
>>
“When looking at him.. it's like it's hard to breath. Like my heart's stopped beating and my words won't come out...” You lay a hand over your breastplate, feeling the subtle beats of your heart through the material.

“That is love. You get used to the stifling feeling once you've come to accept it.” Yasake explains with smiling eyes.

You don't object to his words, but you can feel Jojo tense at that. No, it's not love. But it's something frightfully similar.

The four of you arrive at the manor and you go through the process again of being preened by the Kahkori girls, this time they fawn over you, telling you how nice your nails are, and how your lovely ivory teeth sparkle, and how your hair's red like roseberry buds

They comb and curl your hair into luscious locks again, making it roll up as though singed, and put you into a large billowing white robe with a fit for your tail, a pattern of dark snowy trees patterning the gown. Your lips are touched by their version of lipstick, a red stain(that they quickly swap out with red-orange at one of the girls' complaints). Your face is powdered to a pure white and eyelashes beset by some black substance to make them appear larger and fuller.
Finally, they paint some more reds and oranges upon your cheeks to give you the appearance of blushing despite your fur, and little red marks at the corners of your eyes.

Once the ladies are finished with their work, they all back off, and one shows you a mirror.

You can't believe how beautiful the girl in the mirror is.

One of the Kahkori dressers faints as soon as she sees you smile, caught by her professional sisters.

Another cries,”You are beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Lord Hao will not be able to believe his eyes!”

Because the manufacturers set up their equipment to produce those specific numbers and they can't be assed to change either the packaging or the production.

Aldo, it forces you to buy more hot dogs to use up the rest of the buns and more buns to use up the rest of the hotdogs in a hellish neverending cycle of frankenfurters, mustard, ketchup, and relish.

“Wait, what about Mar- Ultramarine?” You lower the mirror, looking between the women. “She came in here with me, right? How is she?”

The girls look back and forth at each other and one runs off into another room. You hear a shriek, and lean out of the beautician's chair to peer down a short hall, another birdgirl has fallen.

You rush out of the chair and shuffle over through the kimono to see what she saw.

As you round the door you see a disaster area. Beauty supplies strewn about the room in disgust, dismay, and frustration. The beauticians hold each other, crying, while Marine simply sits in her chair, staring at herself into a little handmirror. Slowly, she lowers it, with tears streaming down her face.

The mucus of her skin's coagulated powders and run it into a distorted mask, red marks for makeup slide and deform into something that could only be jester-like. Her prodigious shelled chest outlines the contours of the dress they tried to put her in appearing quite garish, and with everything else a biological mess, the only things that appear “right” are her fluffy tail, short hair, and eyelashes.
“Ceru... Am I pretty?” Marine squeeks out, rivulets of water dripping down into her red kimono.

Or, you know. Suggest that they just remove the upper-half of the dress. Have the lower-half emphasize her waist, legs, and lower back, I guess? That line of armor along her spine could look good if it was used to emphasize the contours of her back.

Ceru already had practice applying make-up, but that was with a human face. The Kahkori here have some skill on applying makeup to fur, but probably because they have feathers so they understood how to do it already. Mucus is harder to apply make-up on. Just wipe it off.

You step forward, kneeling in front of marine as she sniffles. You take a cloth and wipe away the makeup,”Yeah. As soon as we get rid of all this. You'll be much prettier than I am...”

She sniffles, her chest heaving,”R-really?”

“Yeah. Just wait.” You look over at the crying beauticians and beckon them over,”Come on, I need some help fixing this dress. We should show off her chest.” Well, the Comos magazines you read with Sanna sure did pay off. Makeup isn't so bad... Though on Marine it just doesn't really work.

Marine's transformed. Her periwinkle blue skin's slime is shown off and amplified, her hair's tied back as much as it can be to let the orange fur at the sides of her head show off more. The Kimono is pulled down and tied at her waist while the sleeves are separated and tied onto her arms to cover her shell plating.
Your words were barely a lie. While you have a modest, quiet beauty like new fallen snow, Marine has a rash fiery beauty like a thrashing carp. Once more, her spirit's set ablaze and she's pumping again, even if it I a bit unlady-like.

“Awww Yissss! I'm super freaking cute! Lord Hao's totally gonna be all over me!” She gives herself a little battle chant,”I feel good! I feel great! I. Can. Do. This!”

You pat her on the back,”Come on Marine, Lord Hao is waiting for us.”

“Aye!” She hurries along after you as you leave the room with an effort towards elegance. You do really want to look nice if nothing else.

You talk to some of the girls as they escort you to rendezvous with Jojo.

“Lord Hao totally threw all of this just for you! He's totally excited to see you again!”

“I hear that the Lord fell in love with Lady White at first sight...” One of the girls says and all the others share a giggle.

“No way! I want Lord Hao to fall in love with me!” Marine complains, puffing up her cheeks.
>>
“Aren't you the one that wants to kiss his lovely rear end? What I'd give to be so honored. Perhaps you may be the consort and Lady White could be his bride?”

“B-Bride?” You blush heavily, your eyes spinning. You find yourself shaking your head. “I-I don't know about that. We've only just met... And I..”

“You mean you -don't- want to be courted by the most beautiful and powerful man in Raguna? Second in power only to his Majesty, The Emporer, himself?” One of the girls asks, and the others stare at you in utter disbelief, their jaws nearly dropping off to the floor.

Actually, saying we love someone from the glass city would lead to the least amount of commotion. We don't want Hao thinking we're "free" and courting us or thinking he has any rivals within reach here.

You know. Just in case he actually does want to court Ceru and/or Marine. Even if it's only for one night. Because, considering what just looking at him does, it might get really bad to be close to him at all.

“I love someone from the glass city...” You admit, bashful under the stares of the chatty birds.

“Who?” They say in concert.

“Someone more powerful than Lord Hao?”

“A childhood love?”

“Wet season romance?”

You just keep shaking your head, “My friends, like Bruise and Sanna... Devon...”

They guffaw at your answer, tearing up with laughter, “Oh! Simply friends! Well that works too. Come now, you will simply adore Lord Hao!”

One of them pushes at your rear, nudging you forward a bit more, “If you turn him down, our Lord will cry for days, and neither eat nor sleep... He's already lost out on his beauty sleep with you away on that dangerous, savage hunt of yours.”

“R-really?” You can't help but feel a bit embarassed about that, turning your vision to the ground.

“Really! You should just marry him and live out a life of luxury! He's never married before you know, it's only been consort after consort. You'd be the Lord-Lady of Raguna! Do you know what an honor that would be?”

You blush harder, thankful that the color is hidden by fur and makeup. “But I don't even know the first thing about marriage... How would I-” You start shaking your head. “No, I really need to go home.”

“Lady White, is our city not good enough for you? Is it not marvelous? What more could you want for?”

“We could make you so beautiful everyday, and you'd eat the finest meals!”

“Oh, and attend royal balls!”

“What are balls?” You ask, blinking between the girls.

“Dances! Beautiful royalty and honored guests come together and dance to the finest music and drink the finest berry juices, and eat the most glorious roasts!”

You meet with Kurojo and the beautician girls swoon over him, obscuring your view of him at first...
Willfully, Jojo pushes them aside,”I sense White.” Ignoring the other beautiful ladies, to see you.

As he lays his eyes upon you, his beak drops a bit, and he averts his eyes, “You're amazing... Is all that he can say.”

His crest is weighed down with a luxurious clip, and a suit more fitting him than the previous one. If you'd had a name for these robes, you'd say that they were “royal hunter.”

His chest, shoulders, back and abdomen are fully exposed, as well as the sides of his hips, a belt-like string holding together lower robes to cover his modesty while still allowing for a wide range of movement and showing off his agility over strength. Like Marine, his arms have detached sleeves upon them, though far less billowy and held more tightly with decorations akin to a morning sun.

His face and tusks are painted with golden accents to match the gold of the robes.

Needless to say, you bow your head, with a giddy smile,”Y-you too.”

One of the girls tweets, giving you a knowing look. “Well, Yasake will take you to Lord Hao now. Toodles! Come on girls, we need to clean up!”

Yasake stands there as the girls part, fleeing and giggling back to the chamber of their craft.

“Shall we?” The Servant bows, offering an arm as direction.

You take Kurojo's arm and walk past him,”We shall.”

That leaves Yasake to escort Marine, the tension in the air between the two of them positively palpable as they mutter subtle insults and “playful” death threats to one another... At least it's a short walk to meet with Lord Hao.

Within the chambers, many Kahkori sit and drink, making merry at Lord Hao's Behest. Yasake announces your arrival and Lord Hao, claps.

“Welcome, these are the honored guests from the dome! The stars of this festival!”
>>
The other Kahkori Tusked, and radiant tuskless, in attendance clap joyously. A pair of Araraki offer a slight nod and prayer from behind exceptionally colored and detailed masks. Their robes far more uniform and intricately laid than “your” Araraki. Even Nala is here, you wonder how you never passed her before. She roars triumphantly with another Smolder, while what appear to be ferrine leaders simply scratch their chins and nod.

“Pheesh.” You hear them mutter, your ear and eye twitching. Seems word's gotten around about you.

The table set here is long and unsegregated, but the attendees of the various races keep to themselves grouped up with the like. With Hao at the head and no seat at the opposite end. Music plays from some Ferrines led by tusked Kahkori.

“So this here is the one we've heard so much about...” A tuskless woman says from behind a personal, all of the tuskless are partitioned off. “Proof that the... legends... Are true of Glass cities. A historic moment, yes?” She takes a sip of something, giggling at something that the other tuskless find humor in.

There are two seats reserved next to Lord Hao's screen, Yasake directs you and Marine toward them. An empty seat by Tusked Kahkori is Kurojo's placement.

There is no food yet upon the table, only wine and drink. Drink that's so fragrant that it alone makes your mouth water.

“My most honored guests... Are the people of the glass not the most beautiful creatures you've ever laid eyes upon? Short of yours truly, of course.” Lord Hao lays a hand upon his chest, humble and honest as ever.

“I beg to differ,” The Tuskless woman chuckles from her screen, “I am known as the fairest of my islands. If I could be deprived so readily of a title, I would be reluctant to invite any within my governance.

“Governer Azura, We mean no offense. Perhaps exotic is a better word?”

“Undoubtedly,” The woman offers a disarming laugh and downs more of her berrywine.

“My Lieges,” Nala raises her voice, “Might we get to the point of why we're holding this banquet?”

Azura's aura fluctuates, spiking for a moment with unbridled anger before settling down. “I'm sorry, did a... beast just raise its voice to me? Azura flusters her feathers, calming her anger further, “I must be imagining things. Do not mind me.”

Nala lowers her head, forbidding herself from curling her upper lip as much as you can feel the rage broiling within her.

“Now, Governor Azura.” A Tuskless man speaks from across the table, his voice calm, collect and perhaps a bit aged. “We do not need to start another war at a table that is not your own. We are in Governer-General Hao Ashkurai's nest. Mind your manners.”

“Indeed.” She sips her drink, sparing no more words.

“We thank you Governor Hrozai, for reminding Governor Azura that this is not her table.”

“Thank you, Governer Hrozai, for reminding me that this is not my table.” Azura repeats, obligingly.

“Now, I only mind our laws of hospitality. It is also est not to fight before new guests to our table and possible allies.” Hrozai rubs his chin from beyond his own screen, “Though I do wonder why we are not graced with the presence of Vi-Smohkan Akabaron. Vaikre Nala, why do we not see the third ruler of the Ashen Isles?”

“Vi-Smohkan Akabaron rushed to Smelda to take care of important matters. I listen in his place and speak where our thoughts are parallel.”

“Smolderan leadership is quite interesting. Vi-Smohkan Janlon of Melfurna, Infernius of Cruorcibal. What are your opinions of this matter?”
>>
>>33283932
they all have to marry her?
>>
A Smolder with a broken horn, capped by metal stands, towering over the table with the naturally superior size of his species, “Smelda's twin cities are currently suffering a dispute as they often are of the lava pits. Resolution of this conflict will in all liklihood take a month, perhaps more if they are unwilling to listen to their often absent Vi-Smohkan..”

“And you, Infernius?”

The Smolder with orange-red fur and charcoal black stripes busies himself drink, slamming his cup down at being pestered a second time, ”I share no opinion. The Vi-Smohkan of Smelda's business is his own. If his Vaikard wishes to take his place in attendance it has no bear on my mind.” He expels flame from his nostrils, garnering a harsh look from the Araraki attendees.
“You understand that we govern our isles alone, not as one, yes?”

“Indeed I do. It is nice to know that your opinion has not changed with these new tidings.” Hrozai nods dutifully, laughing lightly to himself as he too sips at his drink, looking now to you and Marine. “The Berrywine, good for a parched throat, is it not? I recommend taking your time with it, enjoying it sip by sip. If you drink too quickly, you will miss very important things. Too slow, and you will not finish your drink by the time food arrives. It is then that you may politely ask for a refill without disturbing the chefs.”

You listen to the man's relaxing voice and wisdom. Before you know it, you're sipping at your drink, and what do you know. He's right. It IS good.

Marine, as she sits across from you is too flustered and nervous to much even move.

“Pheesh...” One of the Ferrines says again, leering from way down the table.

He doesn't know. He's just randomly suggesting stuff.
>>
You stay silent for now, enjoying the drink the way Governor Hrozai had suggested. You're grateful to be sitting near him at least, his presence is a calming one.

“Moving on” Lord Hao raises a glass, “We would like to propose a time honored drink to this meeting with hopes that it fosters the beginnings of a new friendship...” You can feel Lord Hao's eyes upon you, sending goosebumbs crawling up your spine, “And perhaps more with our guests from the Glass City.”

“Lord Hao, you cock!” Azura laughs, throwing her head back,” Is she your new consort or something? You sure do work quick.. Might I then take the other one? What is she... a fi-”

“Pheesh!” One of the Ferrines jump up and point at Marine.

Governess Azura looks to the ferrines in a nigh-stunned silence, “I was going to say a fiesty one- Why are you mewling kittens saying that anyway?”

“We hearrr frowm keen abowt pheesh pershun! She is pheesh!”

“And you dare interrupt your better with that drivel? I should have you made into a pur-”

“Azura!” Lord Hao raises his voice with a command most unlike his flirtatious philandering. Its the voice of a general, a leader, a boss.

The Tuskless woman goes rigid, “Apologies.”

“It may be a kindness to yourself if you restrain your boiling fury, Governess Azura.” Hrozai bows his head, “Lest you try the patience of the Emperor's brother through his honored guests.”

“I do not get visitors all too often.” Azura turns her head, looking away from everyone.

“Burned land and a fire in her heart.” Janlon laughs heartily, “Give her a pair of horns, and she'd be a fine Smolder woman.

Azura rises, slamming her hand upon her sectioned off table, her fury writhing from beyond her screen. “Do NOT compare-”
>>
“Wonder if she goes through heat? Wouldn't trying her out. Wonder if the kits would have horns or tusks?” Janlon continues his rude external thoughts, laughing all the while.
Nala sits calmly with her eyes closed, almost as though to ignore the scene taking place.

Before her temper reaches a peak, Azura exhales and takes a seat, you can feel her smile from beyond the screen, ripe with her malice. It makes you and Marine shudder.
“Honorable Lord Hao. Could you please honor us with your guidance, lest we set ourselves upon each others throats at this lovely banquet of yours?”

Hao nods, “Yes.We welcome you all to the first festival of six nations. High Kahkori, Tusked Kahkori, Araraki, Smolderan, Ferrine, and Resident of Glass. It is here at this time that we would be honored to hear of your home, and your willingness to extend friendly relations towards us. Lady White, Lady Ultramarine. You have been inducted into this city's Guild of Hunters that serve as mercenaries for the smaller issues of the Empire's citizenry and well being.
We have heard that it is to find a way, in the future to return home. At the completion of this summit, we will ask these leaders of their willingness to assist you in your travel home and hopefully the contact with a people that have been long unknown to us. If this is well, then please tell us the name of your home.”

>...
>>
>>33285176
>Wouldn't mind trying her out.*
>>
>>33285176
"Kanto"
>>
>>33285176
Well, there intentions are already pretty clear now. Seems like they want to make contact with the Dome. Let's go ahead and tell them.

Kanto Dome. Any landmarks we can give? Like, what, west of the Silvery Peak? I already forgot what the map of Kanto looks like.
>>
>>33285176
"Kanto"

But tell them we're not high-ranking. We can't make decisions for the dome.
>>
>>33285262
the volcano I suppose.
>>
>>33285262
Shit, can we surreptitiously glance at Nala?

I feel like we really need to stress to these guys the reason Marine and ourselves want to earn our way home is because the Dome is very isolationist and we are not sure just how grateful they would be or how willing they are to make new trade opportunities.
>>
>>33285315
You glance at Nala, but she's not looking at you, she's busying herself with drink and doing more listening than speaking now as her position demands.
>>
>>33285294
We can't really say that. We outrank a normal adult ranger and can overlook most rules without even having to explain ourselves. Rockets are highly valued.

>>33285315
Mm. No need to say more than needed, but if the situation arises, we should tell them that the leaders of our city are aware of the existence of people outside of the dome, but are not sure of the status of their "civility".

If they wish to engage in proper relations with the Dome people, it would help if they could give some sort of "proof" of their good will towards the Dome.
>>
>>33285176
Wow, he's really putting us on the spot here. Um er uh.

Giovanni WOULD want peaceful contact with natives, but we don't have anywhere near elite 4 clout like the other peaceful first contacters.

I guess I don't mind TOO much giving them a rough approximation of which dome we came from, but at the same time, we have no say over what that dome's policies are and don't know if they'll even want to have anything to do with this place. You're really getting everyone's hopes up with this party and all the festival stuff.
>>
>>33285373
We're still not high ranking though.

Nowhere NEAR decision makers.
>>
>>33285373
Oh wait, scratch that. Marine is around. Scratch out the part about our leaders being aware.

>>33285397
We do have Giovanni's ear, though. And he's not one to shy away from opportunities, as was the case with Lilac. He's not afraid to cause some friction with other leaders, even with one of the Elite 4.
>>
>>33285397
The point is, as Rockets, we're set apart from the ordinary chain of command. We've got lots of freedom.
>>
>>33285476
Well yes, but we're still pretty much just Hunters.

We did try and tell Hao and the Smolders that the Dome is very private right?
>>
>>33285476
At best, we're more privileged than the average ranger, but not on the level of privilege that we can make Dome-affecting decisions.
>>
“Kanto.” You say, with an affirming admittance. For a moment your word hangs on the air, before you remember a question that Hao had asked before. “Our central area is called Pallet...”

Once you realize that you have the spotlight, you realize just how quiet everyone's gotten. With renewed determination, you start of with telling them that the dome Is hidden from sight, an entire ocity's worth of are tucked away behind glass walls. You tell them of the lifestyle there, the machines, and the amazing things that you have back in the dome.

The Smolder listen intently, you feel a mild amount of resentment from the Araraki, the ferrines play with some string, and the Kahkori and High representatives alike repeat back to you with more minor questions...

It's strange, you're the most important speaker here right now!

Next session when?
>>
>>33285586
Announced on the weekend, since that's when Prof knows his work schedule for the rest of next week.
>>
>>33285571
Wait what the fuck?

We never agreed to tell them about our marvelous technology.

If anything, we agreed to the opposite, to say that they might not want us and Marine back badly enough if it means acknowledging that all these people exist.
>>
>>33285571
I am very concerned about interaction between these guys and the dome in the future. I have no idea if giving them info will blow up in our face.

I just hope genocide wars don't occur.
>>
>>33285571
Please tell me that we arent telling them anything important.
>>
>>33285571
I hope they like trading more than war...

thanks for running prof. good luck with the new job
>>
We're just telling them our shit back home is awesome

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R1nRxcICeE
>>
>>33285571
Time to enslave them. And maybe cut them up for their mind controlly bits.
>>
>>33285607
It probably will. Which is why I don't think anyone wanted to share it.

Like we just wanted to say where it was, and that they like to pretend that nothing but monsters exist outside the Dome, but if we get back we'll try to put a good word in, and we're aware that's a terrible sell, which is why we wanted to earn as much of our way back as possible.
>>
>>33285656
Why enslave them when you can sell stuff to them?
>>
>>33285681
why not both?

cultural imperialism!
>>
>>33285666
Yeah. The main reason we wanted to leave quietly in the night, besides worries of being kept here for information by local authorities, were introducing these guys to the dome and the shitstorm that could occur after.

I just hope they're way, way, way, way too far away to be anything but a footnote.
>>
>>33285681
Because its not EVIL(TM) enough. The Dome IS afterall a totalitarian dictatorship.

>>33285690
Everyone in the Dome looks down upon non-humans as Demons at best. The Indigo Report is JUST an opinion after all. SO i predict enslavement and bits cutting will be the order of the day, ESPECIALLY if fucking bitchtits Sabrina get within the same hemisphere as this place.
>>
>>33285654
But that's a lie and even we know it.

Like I think we might be willing to admit that, on average, the Dome is evil, it's just that there's a lot of good people there we like.
>>
>>33285734
That would require them acknowledging this place exists. I doubt Sabrina cares enough to leave the Dome.

Now, if we bring a large party with us, with envoys and shit? Then yeah, bad stuff is gonna happen to them. Which is why I'm really pissed off at Prof for having Ceru be a blabbermouth when no one really wanted that.
>>
>>33285571
Well we just spilled our guts and DAMNED these poor, poor people. Ceru you are bad and should feel bad.
>>
>>33285739
It's actually pretty good, as long as you're not from Pewter.

The Dome, as we know the leaders and the rangers who serve under it, are pretty good on average.
>>
>>33285765
>The E4 finds out we told foreigners about the Domes.
>Sabrina finds out as does Silph.
>Ceru is killed for her stupidity.
>VIOLENT PURGE OF ALL LIFE BEGINS. The islands are destroyed.
>Sad Ceru.png
>>
>>33285769
Reserve the feeling bad for Prof for not really listening to what everyone was typing.

What happened to all the discretion we've worked for earlier, is this some kind of Fairy bullshit? Was that wine extra-strong?
>>
>>33285734
Normal people fear them, and most Rangers are ignorant of them. The Indigo Reports are kept secret from them because the brass is afraid that they would hesitate if they were ever ever forced into a conflict with the mutated humans. Ergo, it can be assumed that the leaders believe most Rangers would empathize with their possible enemies.

The Dome are reluctant to make contact because they've made few encounters. Of the one positive encounter they had, the Machops may have been seen as being too simple.
>>
>>33285769
I hope not.
I hope we only gave non-damning details and that they won't have to be killed later.
>>
>>33285815
>The Dome's top brass are reluctant . . .

>>33285803
There is no exact discretionary policy on keeping the Dome secret.

This is a new opportunity and it's "fairly" safe; we've established that they're intelligent, sapient beings who are capable of "peace" with different races. There's risk, but as Rockets, we've got some leeway on how we decide to handle new, unforeseen issues ourselves. The Boss would be proud.
>>
>>33285571
WHY THE FUCK DID WE SPILL OUR FUCKING GUTS DRAN?!?!?!?!?!? WHAT THE FUCK MAN?!?!?!

Yknow we only spent like 10 threads being as secretive as possible to AVOID this shit. For good fucking reason. Now they will want in on our little "paradise" as they see it. Silph will order their fucking annihilation as soon as they send the first envoy. Hell we are probably gonna die for this. Having breached the one cardinal sin and all. TELL NO ONE WE ARE HERE. TELL THEM NOTHING ABOUT US!!!

.....just.....FUCKING WHY!?!?!?
>>
>>33285614
Are you kidding? I'm betting the wine is of a sort that has everyone speaking whatever comes to mind (which would explain the behavior of the noble and the smoulder, assuming that the latter aren't just brutally straightforward as a whole even amongst their "royalty")
>>
>>33285815
I thought it's because there's not really a lot of human types in Kanto. Like there's the Abras, Machops, Drowzees, Mimes, Jynxes, Electabuzzes, and Magmars.

Half of them are psychic. All of them are probably awful.
>>
>>33285865
>the wine
that we didn't even get a chance to reject, because apparently the smolder are psychic and can just command us to do stuff.
>>
>>33285838
We told them about our tech paradise, were none has to work and the streets are paved with gold/food/whatever.

They will flock to us like zombies to a fucking hospital.
>>
>>33285862
you're freaking out about 60% more than is merited or sane.

I mean,
>>33285859
Giovanni is actively for making friendly contact with an advanced civilization. So long as nowhere along the line does ANYONE MENTION how our rangers are made, things will go not horribly.
>>
>>33285878
Yeah? I said they've made few encounters. They've only had 3 noted encounters with other races, as far as we know.
>>
>>33285865
What that the wine is some kind of truth serum?

But even if that was the case, then why the fuck wouldn't Ceru share her very really concerns about whether the Dome is interested in any of this stuff.

This doesn't really sound like we're giving them top secret data or launch codes. Just day to day life stuff, quality of living, etc.

You guys sound paranoid imo

>>33285903
Not if we're really far away.
Or we didn't tell gross hyperbole like you immediately assume.

QUEST
>>
>>33285932
We made them want to come to the Dome.

This will end very badly for them.

>>33285903
I hope we didn't tell them that. If anything, I'd say everyone works at the Dome.
>>
>>33285932
Yeah, I think guys are freaking out more than is merited.

I mean, chances are even GETTING between the two places is infeasible on any kind of large scale.
>>
>>33285892
Or perhaps it was the only drink at the table, or we thought it'd be polite, or a million other reasons, all of which would have us drinking pretty much what everyone else is at a banquet. There was no chance of us refusing it even if offered just because the character already showed a penchant for drinking heavily.
>>
>>33285932
They will flock to the DOmes like flies to a carcass. Giovanni may not care but hes NOT the only one to worry about. Silph/Sabrina will have a fucking nightmares fit our this and begin the obliteration of these poor island. They will be scrubbed clean of all life. After all no one has told us why we dont talk to the outside world. Just that we DONT. EVER.
>>
>>33285979
You're overexaggerating by far.

Especially since it requires prototypical entirely-out-of-monster boats to even theoretically get there.

Which we don't even know will work.

I think you're just trying to start up a panicmongering shitstorm at this point.
>>
>>33285955
I admit that the people thinking that the Dome is gonna somehow invade and Genocide all the races are grossly overestimating the Dome's capabilities, but I still think we shared too much, while neglecting to mention the more ugly topics.

At least we didn't tell them how Rangers are made.
>>
>>33285979
>>33285995
also, nobody actually ever told us to not talk about the outside of the dome. We just assumed that because we didn't want to risk politics stuff and instead wanted to relay the info higher up.
>>
>>33285932
All we have ever been told is that the Domes ARE top secret. The toppest secret in fact. There is a reason for this. It isnt just negligence.
>>
>>33285979
The Dome is not that powerful. Not by half.
>>
>>33285937
>>33285904
> long as nowhere along the line does ANYONE MENTION how our rangers are made.

That cat is going to leave the bad sooner or later which is going to lead to people being harvested.

I doubt that basement where nobody is allowed to go that is most likely the Boss's Lab contains anything that could be considered "nice".
>>
>>33286018
We've actually not been told that anywhere in the entire quest.

The domes are INVISIBLE. For very practical reasons. Keeping it a secret never actually comes up and there is no standing policy on it.
>>
>>33286024
>Secret Esper Police intensifies
>>
>>33286024
I don't think we're gonna harvest people.

Like I haven't seen any Machop grafts, and Goldenrod was an exception.

An exception that we will all pay dearly for.

They're coming.
>>
More likely the Dome uplifts the Smolder. tech for mons.

Khakkori probably won't do so well in round 2.

Of course, I'm just speculating here like most people in this thread
>>
>>33286055
It depends whichever culture is least revulsed by what they find out about the dome's policies.
>>
>>33286022
>Super advanced tech, like machine guns and probably tons of other shit.
>A target that is worth it to use it on.
>Crazy mind controlling pheromone bird ppl things. (Yeah that would give Sabrina any more fucking inferiority complexes than she already has or whatever).

I can only see this leading to genocide/enslavment.
>>
>>33286055
Eh, I'm pretty sure we're farther from the Dome than it is for the Dome to reach Hoenn or even Sinnoh.

The question is do they really want to go ALL that distance just to enslave and exploit people?

Because if they did, why have not the Espers used their super-effective psychic powers to make the Machop race their slaves?
>>
>>33286055
In a way it's already happening.

We are secretly going to give them a boat.
>>
>>33286092
You're an imbecile.

I'm talking boots on the ground and means of transport.
>>
>>33286075
Smolder. they ain't blood shy, they're hungry and they've got a chip on their shoulder. They want the tech badly.

the Tuskless guys are probably fucked, don't know about the other ones though...
>>
>>33286101
Boats? We've got that as well. Better, even.
>>
>>33286113
You misunderstand.

The distances here seem to be further than even dome boat technology can go reliably.

We would be taking a massive risk in a jury rigged prototype boat to be getting back. That's our best plan.
>>
>>33286129
>The distances here seem to be further than even dome boat technology can go reliably.
Why do you think that?

Our boats are better than there's, after all. Akabaron even went back home to find an inventor capable of making a boat that can travel beyond the waves.

And the boats are, for all intents and purposes, invisible.
>>
>>33286152
It's still a huge expenditure of manpower and resources that I just can't see the Dome willing to do.

They're really isolationist.
>>
>>33286152
Because the place we crashed from was already on the periphery of the distance we could go safely without monsterdeath.

And we went much further after that.
>>
>>33286178
If the word gets out that we aren't myth and tall tales we wont be isolationist for long. I think the leadership wants it that way.

There will be death, and a lot of it.
>>
>>33286129
What are you smoking?

The dome has way fucking better technology than these guys and therefore knows how to make fucking boats that can cross such distances.
>>
>>33286199
I don't have high hopes for either journey, in either boat.

It's MUCH beyond the safe travel margin.
>>
>>33286196
You're a fucking idiot. The Dome is invisible and impregnable. They can just ignore people.

They're not going to wipe out like... five cultures just because people know about them.

Such an expenditure of energy could cripple the Dome.
>>
>>33286178
I'm a different guy.

It's stupid to talk about our capability of transportation because we exceed the hunters in that regard.

If you wanted to argue against the Dome being able to conquer them, you should have met the guy on the fact that the Dome has no settlements outside of it. Supply chains would be hard to establish out in the ocean (considering how the on-board generators would have difficulty keeping the boats on the same spot since there are plenty of waves around the islands while keeping the repel tech on indefinitely), and regardless of what side of Kanto the isles are on (I think south-east?), the nearest land-port is much too distant to send Rangers supplies reliably.
>>
>>33286234
You forget that ppl like Silph and Sabrina are crazy Human supremacist nut jobs that are just fine where they are at, on top. If they perceive a threat to the Dome, even an evenutal one, im pretty sure they could at least try and convince the other to cripple this developing rival to the south. Carpet bombings are not out of the question.
>>
>>33286294
Actually carpet bombings are kind of out of the question as I don't think we even have flight.
>>
>>33286184
>Because the place we crashed from was already on the periphery of the distance we could go safely without monsterdeath.
Are you talking about the civilian boat? No, it wasn't on "the periphery of the distance we could go safely without monsterdeath". Check out the thread yourself.
>>
You guys can panic if you like, but the dome's never actually mobilized militarily and won't for this.

Worst case scenario is the entire party going with us dies and the islanders never are able to find us or make further contact again.
>>
>>33286294
>>33286312
Yes, we probably don't have flight.

We'll be reporting to Giovanni first on the matter.

You are making assumptions of Silph Co. I find it far more likely that they're willing to exploit opportunities to make a profit. They're a fucking business company, after all.

There might be more adventure parties coming to search for the officials, but they'll never find our invisible goddamn city. Would spoil relations if we ever go back without that party, though.
>>
>>33286509
The way anon wants it we are never coming back to these isles. Ever. So i dont know why ppl are getting so attached to Jojo. Srsly prof gave us Marine to mess around with.
>>
>>33286509
Yeah, the closest the dome will come to war here is killing all the parties that are at the dome, and then being an invisible secret city.

That is, if they aren't actually into the idea of more friendly cultures to sell cell phones to.
>>
>>33286382
I don't get why Aurora Beam isn't a prerequisite for Ice Beam.

>>
>>33286551
Yeah, I don't mind maybe eventually returning one day, but without all our friends and family thinking we are dead.
>>
>>33286533
There are not a lot of pl out here to sell shit to. The number of ppl in our Domes outnumbers these guys by a factor of 7 to 1. There is no profit in simply exploiting them. Leaving them unmolested is not going to happen with fuckers like Sabrina around. So the only option i can see is them doing killing enough islanders to destabilize the area.
>>
>>33286551
Bitter anon, probably.
>>
>>33286577
You seem to be basing this on vague shitstirring and yellow journalism, as sabrina's not actually made any imperialistic moves as of yet, and the dome has little to no interest in mass troop movements.
>>
>>33286593
Not Imperialism. I know they wouldn't want any permanent presence here. However, they also want to curtail threats.
>>
>>33286606
All of the things you've proposed seem to be unprecedented amounts of giving shits from the dome.
>>
>>33286618
The Domes have never met another, non-Dome culture. I think there WILL be a LOT of shits given about that. Especially the not humans bit of that report.
>>
>>33286606
>threats
Only Sabrina has presented any negative sentiments about them. And she dislikes all Rangers too. Also, the Indigo Reports were kept secret because the leaders believe that many Rangers would be reluctant to fight against these altered humans. We also have reason to think that Giovanni would be very much open to an amiable relationship with outside races, and two of the Elite 4 have either made peace with an outside race or have positive views about them (Bruno and Lorelei respectively).
>>
>>33286648
Seems logistically infeasible, out of line with past events, and unprofitable.

Like it was said before, worst case scenario is the entire envoy mission is killed by dome rangers and isolation returns.
>>
>Wanderer drops in just to vote with a joke
He could have told us how the writing was going at least...
>>
Enough talk about worst case scenarios.

Let's start thinking about how to manage first contact in a way that would result in minimum death on both parts.

Best option I can think of is to have them drop us off, and we'd come back for them with a response from the dome if the dome agrees to talks. If not, well, they'll never hear from us again and should go home.
>>
>>33287182
Ceru, Marine, and a small group of diplomats

Well, we'll go over it when it comes up. Human-y or not, it still might be prudent to tell them about it when we get there.

I fell asleep right after the last post.

You guys have some, uh, interesting ideas.

If anything, it was enough to inform them that old tales of the domes are true, that you are in fact from such a place, and well, the rest will come next thread. M<ight run a late one later in the weekl just to wrap up the gathering of leadership with exclusion of the emperor.

Oh, and remember that there are representatives from each race. There are at least two Araraki here and they've literally said -nothing-.
