You are Sireyi Valyenya, 18 years old, you are on your first quest.

You have retrieved the Horn of Alzurad: a legendary artefact that can call dead heroes back to fight for the holder of the Horn. But now you’re lost.

Update in next post
>>
You fly down and grab the giant by the arm, this close you can see he’s just a kid, no more than 14 in human terms.

Lightning strikes around you and you free him (Divine Energy 10/16). He sayings something to you in a language you don’t understand, he sounds disbelieving.

You hear a rumbling above you and the reason for the giants retreat becomes clear as an avalanche sweeps down towards you “Run!” you yell at the young giant as you both flee down the side of the mountain towards the other giants.

As the cloud of snow and ice settles you see that both you and he are safe.

Safe being a relative term when you’re surrounded by two dozen giants. One old giant with a beard bigger than you are addresses you in a sceptical tone, you don’t understand his words.

You try to introduce yourself but he doesn’t understand you either. Then he chants something and makes some passes in the air, after that you can understand what he’s saying.

“What are you?” his voice booms out, as the other giants loom around you, looking down at you. One giant hugs the smaller one you saved and starts scolding him with joy in her voice.

>I’m Sireyi, Paladin of Velya
>I’m a half-angel

“I’m Sireyi, Paladin of Velya and half-angel” you say “And who are you, sir?” you ask, no need to lose your manners even if others do.
“And where am I? What was that army?”

You may be babbling a bit in your excitement.
“What’s a Paladin and who is Velya?” responds the old giant, “as for Angels, pah, they don’t exist, they are legends.”

The young giant breaks out of his mothers embrace and comes over to you “She is an angel” he insists “She saved me.”

“The lad is partly right” concedes the old giant “I am Wegenthal, Mountain-Speaker for the High Peaks clan, and you saved one of ours. You have our gratitude.” He looks at the avalanche covering the pass “come with us, that won’t hold them forever.”

He and the other giants start trudging along the mountainside, you glide alongside Mountain-Speaker Wegenthals head and talk to him as you travel.

>No really, what was that army?
>Where am I?

Hmm.. that would be interesting. Its possible, but where are all the heroes?
>>
>>33379253
>>No really, what was that army?
>>Where am I?

So, how many heroes can the horn summon at the same time?
>>
>>33379332
I meant more that the horn is a microcosm of some sort, or possibly the severed horn of a crazy-powerful demon lord and contains his soul after his physical form was destroyed.

His spirit would be commanding that army and trying to do *something* to escape

It's also possible that the souls of the Heros were corrupted into that army we saw by the demon lord's spirit self.
>>
>>33379374
Certainly seems plausible.

>>33379253
So lets say that there were no tricks and we do in fact have the horn. Did you expect us to get our hands on it this early?
>>
>>33379433
>thinking we get to keep the horn

“As for that army” he says “That was the Imperial Army of Drache”

“Um, ok” you say “And who’s Drache?”

He walks alongside you in silence for several moments, then he asks you to name the country you grew up in, he tells you several kingdom, ocean and mountain names and you’ve never heard of them.

It dawns on you that you are a very long way from home, probably on another plane.

He explains about the Empire of Drache.

A long time ago the Drache were simply another kingdom of people, but their king had a mad lust for power and started making pacts with demons. Over generations they gained more and more power, conquering nearby countries until the empire spanned a whole continent.

“They say angels existed in those days” says Wegenthal sadly “I wouldn’t know, this was in my great-grandfathers time. But it is said that all the forces of good stood against the Empire, a grand battle to destroy the evil and bring it down.”

“They failed” he says “Now the Empire of Drache covers the whole world, save” he gestures at the mountains around him “for the most inhospitable places.”

“I hear from the other clans” he muses “That the Island of Storms, once the centre of a seafaring kingdom of humans still holds out, though it has been under siege for 60 years.”

You decide its time to answer some of his questions “A paladin is a champion of a god” you say “Velya is the Goddess of Joy, Life, and Peace.”

“Yeah?” says Wegenthal “And my mother was a dwarf. Winged human, the Gods abandoned us long ago, if they ever existed.”
“Well if gods and angels aren’t real” you say “Then how do you explain me?”

Wegenthal muses over this “I thought some sort of magical experiment, but to my mountain-sight you seem...pure, like fresh snow” he shakes his head “Bah! I’m old and foolish, I’m seeing hope where there is none.”
>>
>>33379445
lol fine then.

>So lets say that there were no tricks and we do in fact have the horn and get to keep it. Did you expect us to get our hands on it this early?
Better?

I really doubt we get to keep the horn
>>
>>33379482
“For saving my grandson you may stay with us as long as you wish, Winged Sireyi, but I warn you, give up on talking about Angels and Gods. False hope is a curse.”

The giants are approaching a mountainside no different from any other, until a vast canvas sheet covered in snow is pulled back, revealing a cave inside.

Well, any place in a blizzard you reason. And speaking of which, it looks like one is headed this way.

You follow the giants into the cave, still talking to Wegenthal

>You should never give up on hope
>Who else still resists the Empire of Drache?
>Are there no followers of the gods at all?
>Where is the Island of Storms?
>>

>>

don't really think she's still alive in this timeline possibility but whatever
>>
“You should never give up on hope” you insist “Sometimes hope is all we have” you try not to think about how far you are from home.

“Well we don’t have it now” responds Wegenthal.

You try to steer the conversation back to other matters “Who else still resists the Empire of Drache?”

“Most of the Giants” he says “though a few have gone over, the dragons. The kingdom of Malzah did for a while, making pacts with demons hostile to those who rule Drache, I hear they’ve been conquered but are trying to incite rebellion across the Empire. The dwarves are gone, or slaves. The elves where used up in the breeding pits of Drache long ago. The orcs work for the Drache as mercenaries but are too stubborn to ever truly join. The dark elves moved into the cities their lighter kin once held and fortified it against the Empire, perhaps they still hold out. Other than that...there may be others that I don’t know of.”

“Are there no followers of the gods at all?”

“None” he says emphatically, “Except...the Princess of Jalweyen supposedly has the powers of the royal line, given to the by a god, but she is trapped on the Island of Storms.”

“Where is the Island of Storms?” you ask

“Far, far down the coast” he says, gesturing at the sea “You can see it from the shore I’m told, once you get there, but it’s far from here.

The conversation pauses as you enter the giants home properly.
Deep inside the cave you meet more of the giants clan, it looks like there is perhaps 50 of them in total.

Wegenthal introduces you to the other giants, your appearance causes little comment, except amongst the half-dozen or so children, even the smallest of whom towers over you.

“She’s an angel and she saved me” explains the young giant from the pass, whom you now know as Bokin.
>>
>>33379773
It seems like the adult giants are simply too tired to be amazed at the presence of a tinny half-angel in their midst, or maybe they are beyond caring. Many seem to walk with a stooped posture, as if they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

The giants include you in their evening meal (as a guest, not a dish) in a vast underground cavern. Dinner is a thin stew tasting mostly of vegetables. You sit on an overturned bowl on the table, drinking your stew out of a thimble.

Bokin sits with you, pestering you with questions the whole time. Eventually the meal is over and Wegenthal tells the clan to go to bed.

“Once our clan was vast” he says “Now it dwindles. We can find you a room, though the bed may be a little big."

“She can stay with me!” chimes in Bokin

“And where would she sleep?” asks Wegenthal in amusement

“In my sisters old dollhouse” he responds after a while “I know where to find it. It has beds and everything.”

>I’ll take the single room please
>Y’know what, this day has been pretty strange, might as well sleep in a dollhouse.

The dollhouse isn’t too bad, at least the bed is the right size. Bokin places the dollhouse on a shelf next to his bed, with the open half of the house facing towards his bed, until you tactfully explain that you may need some privacy, at which point he turns it around the other way.

He lies in bed, staring through the dollhouse window at you after you’ve gotten into bed, talking to you late into the night. Bokin doesn’t know much about the wider world and most of what he says is hearsay or speculation.

You wonder if you should wait until he falls asleep or just ask him to be quiet for a while so you can concentrate on praying.

>Wait until Bokin’s asleep
>Ask him to be quiet

And when you finally go to sleep

You wait until Bokin is asleep and then you lay in bed, concentrating on your Goddess (I mean praying to her, no not that wa- you know what, you are now talking to your Goddess).

“Sireyi” You hear the voice of Velya but it’s coming from far away.

“Velya?” you ask, unsure.

“Yes my champion” you can barely hear her “I am with, I am always with you.”

“Why can’t I hear you properly?” you ask.

“You’re on one of the Lost Primes” she says, you pause, you don’t recall what that is.

“The Lost Primes are material worlds, worlds for mortals where demons have gained too strong a presence, divine magic is weaker there and its hard for me to even contact you.”

“Can’t you bring me back?” you ask, she answers in a voice filled with regret “No child, I cannot, nor can any other God.”

“But I have the Horn of Alzurad” you explain “Surely Konig can find a way to get me out?”

“Not even He” explains Velya, “Even Wizards and Sorcerers with powers not connected to the Gods can breach the planar barriers of a Lost Prime.”

Hopelessness crushes you beneath its weight “So I’m stuck here?” you ask.

“There may be a way” explains Velya “Breaching the barriers from without is nigh-impossible, but it is considerably easier from within, a powerful wizard or sorcerer might be able to get you out”

Easy for her to say, all the powerful wizards and sorcerers hereabouts are probably demon-worshippers.

“And the Horn?” you ask “If I blow it, what happens?”
>>

“It won’t work” she says, “not until the planar barriers of the Lost Prime are somehow defeated.”

Well so much for that plan.

“How did I even get here?” you ask, somewhat petulantly, “if travel here is so hard?”

“The portal stone” explains the Goddes Velya “once used by the ancient empire of the necromancer-kings, it’s powers enabled travel to anywhere, no matter how well warded. When you teleported onto it using your own elemental powers you must have activated it somehow.”

“Be wary” she continues “the demon lord who rules the world you are in-” And she’s gone.

Try as you might, you cannot make contact again that night.

Well that wasn’t very reassuring. You finally drop off to sleep, your courage bolstering you through the night. You definitely don’t cry. It’s all this moisture in the cave is all, it’s affecting your eyes, also the altitude.

The next morning you wake up to see a giant sleeping outside your window!

You have several moments of freaking out quietly, stuffing your blanket into your mouth to stifle your screams. Then you remember everything that happened yesterday.

Rising quietly so as not to trouble your roommate you glide through the corridors of the giants home until you see Wegenthal, sat in the great hall, his head bowed, he appears to be praying, or deep in thought. He doesn’t move for several minutes and then his head rises and he looks around, spotting you.

“Ah, Winged Sireyi” he says “I trust young Bokin didn’t tire you out?”

“Oh no, not at all” you respond, declining to mention how late he stayed up talking to you. “The dollhouse was lovely.”

“And what” he asks “Will you be doing today, now that you’ve had a chance to think?”

“The Empire of Drache sounds like a horrible place” you say “It needs to be brought down, and I want to help your clan in any way I can.”

“Hmm” says Wegenthal “Well I plan on taking the clans warriors out to the pass again, to see how much progress the Empire has made in breaking through. You are welcome to join us.”

That sounds like a plan

“Do you know any powerful wizards or sorcerers not affiliated with demons?” you ask hopefully.

Wegenthal looks sombre “I prayed to the Mountains for guidance” he says, “I asked them about your fate, I’ll tell you on the way to the pass, it’s....complicated.”

Oh great.

At that point a very sleepy Bokin comes wandering into the Hall, catching sight of you he grins suddenly “Angel-girl, I didn’t dream you, you are real!” he them rushes towards the table you are stood on as you talk to Wegenthal. Looks like he’s going to try and pick you up and hug you. With your divine powers it would be a non-fatal experience, but probably quite rough.

Bokin puts you down, slightly bruised, though your amulet quickly restores you. “Sorry grandfather” he says to Wegenthal “Todays going to be a great day” he says to you.

Once the rest of the clan is awake and has had a breakfast of dried meat, you set out, flying next to Wegenthal as the two of you talk. Bokin keeps trying to get involved – seems like he’s taken quite a shine to you, he keeps trying to get you to sit on his shoulder. Wegenthal eventually chases him off by telling him to help some of the other giants with their gear.

“The Gods may be gone” says Wegenthal “But the world is still hear, I can still hear the fates in the creaking of the mountains bones, in the blizzards that scour these peaks.”

You decide not to argue the point about the gods, this is not a time for comparative theology.

“The mountains showed me the skein of fate, and showed me what your fate might be, should you choose the right path, or the wrong one.” He pauses and glances at you significantly.

“If you stay with my clan, we shall live out our lives in relative peace and harmony – always hounded by the Empire but always staying ahead of them. But if you stay with us, you will never go home, long after my bones are dust the Empire will catch you and parade you around like a trophy.”

“If you go to the Empire unprepared, your light will shine like a candle in a storm, a tiny light in the darkness, too quickly extinguished.”

“If you go to the Island of Storm you will find a kindred soul, but will face a terrible choice.”
>>
>>33381193
“If you find your sister, one with the darkness, then you can hide within the Empire unnoticed, though the purity of your soul will be...tarnished somewhat.”

“If you drink of the blood of Dragons, your feet will take the first step on your path home.”

Wow, that does sound complex.

This is just a quick suicide

>If you go to the Island of Storm you will find a kindred soul, but will face a terrible choice.”
Not a terrible idea, but I'd like not to have to let someone die or sacrifice whatever is powering the defense of the Island of storms

>If you find your sister, one with the darkness, then you can hide within the Empire unnoticed, though the purity of your soul will be...tarnished somewhat.
I like the whole pure as the driven snow angelic paladin of joy thing we got going on here and I am hesitant to throw that aside.

“If you drink of the blood of Dragons, your feet will take the first step on your path home.”
This seems like a badass way to get home and get stronger and allow us to save the world without, at least as far as we know, sacrificing anything. Therefore, best choice in my opinion.
Thoughts?

“If I leave” you ask “what happens to your clan?”
Wegenthal is silent for a time
“Three times will the snows melt, three times will the blizzards return, and then my clan shall be no more.” He continues “But I cannot ask you to sacrifice your fate for my clan, I forbid it!” He voice rises momentarily, before dropping to a whisper “But I may ask you a favour, as the selfish old man I am.”

“What kindred soul?” you ask
“Ah her” he says, brightening momentarily “The Princess of Jalweyen on the Island of Storms, I cannot tell you how you each need the other, but I can see that you will.”

“What terrible choice?” you ask, somewhat worried

“I cannot see all the outcomes” he says “Only that you will have to face a choice between killing an innocent, or letting a terrible darkness go free.”

“Sister?” you ask “What sister? I don’t think I have a sister”
“Perhaps not of the blood” he says “But of...fate, what might have been, you if your life had taken a different path.”

“Tarnished soul?” you ask “that sounds bad”
“Maybe” he says “But to wipe away another’s sins, would accept such a burden?”

“Blood of dragons?” you ask finally

Wegenthal is quiet for a time. “The Black Dragon Brearax was a terror for hundreds of years, he slaughtered thousands of humans, dwarves and elves. He even killed giants when we got too close to his lair” his voice takes on an introspective tone “In fact I think he ate my great-great uncle.”

“But when the demons came, they bought their own dragons with them, great Hellwyrms, and none so vast, or so feared as Villithrax. It is said his wings would blot out the sun for an entire country. That his scales could not be pierced, that, Ah” he breaks off, “You get the idea, he was their best.”

“But when Villithrax came to these mountains Brearax went out to fight him, more out of territoriality than anything.”

If you go to him he will extract a price for his services, but he will help you find your own way home.”

He finishes with “Walking some of these paths will prevent you from walking others, and some will not.”

Finally you have reached the pass blocked by the avalanche “Normally I’d ask one of the young ones to climb up” says Wegenthal apologetically “But would you mind taking a look?”

“You said something about a favour?” you say curiously.

Wegenthal looks ashamed “I cannot ask you to save my clan, but I ask you to save my grandson, Bokin. I ask that you take him with you. I can provide him with a magical device that will shrink him somewhat, to perhaps twice you own height.” He holds up a hand to forestall a response “Don’t answer now, please think about it.”

You circle, rising slowly above the top of the snowfall. Across the other side you can see the army has come as far up the pass as they can. A vast encampment spreads down the pass. If they got through the giants would be so badly outnumbered they just get swarmed under.

Fortunately it seems the army commander has decided to use brute force to remove the avalanche – teams of men with shovels are trying to clear the huge mass of snow and ice blocking the path. It will take days if not weeks to break through.

As you watch from high above, you see four winged shapes take off from the camp and head towards the top of the pass where you are gliding. They look like some sort of winged lizards with riders in light armour and carrying spears and bows on their backs. They’re heading in your general direction but it doesn’t look like they’ve seen you yet.

Perhaps they’re also scouting over the avalanche, just like you. If they pass they might see the giants, 4 on their own will be no threat but if they see them, they may summon reinforcements to attack the giants.

What should you do?
>Attack them once they’re over the avalanche and out of sight of their own camp

You quickly drop and borrow into the snow, keeping an eye on the scouts.

The scouts perform an aerial reconnaissance, flying high above the avalanche, fortunately the frost giants know their snow and are all buried by the time they go over. The scouts complete a long slow circuit and then head back to the camp, apparently oblivious to the giants.

At the last moment however one of the scouts beasts dives down, you can hear the cursing of its rider from hear. You spot it with a furry animal of some kind held in its jaws.

Despite the tugs of the rider on its reins, and the kicks on its flanks, the beasts settles down to enjoy its meal, only a short distance away from where the giants are buried.

Swearing, the rider dismounts, takes his helmet off and waves his companions onwards, saying he will return once his beast has eaten its fill.

Jeering at his poor skill, the others fly off back over the avalanche.

You wait for the beast to finish eating, the rider stomps around, impatient. Then he spots something. He cautiously approaches the mount of snow that is Bokin, his sword out.

The scout is human-sized, apologies if I didn't make that clear.

As he approaches Bokin you glide up behind him and hit him in the back of the head with your halberd, killing him instantly.

You wait but there is no outcry, and the winged beast doesn’t seem bothered, too focused on its meal.

The giants quietly emerge from the snow and leave, as quickly as they can. One grabs the flying beast on the way, tucking it under his arm like a chicken. Maybe tonights stew is going to be a bit more substantial.

Once you are far enough away from the pass you wonder about what Wegenthal said to you. You need time to think it over. You’ll stay with the giants one more day and make your decision tomorrow.

>Talk to Wegenthal about stuff (what?)
>Talk to Bokin, see if he wants to leave

“When Bokin is shrunk down, will he be able to ride that thing?” you ask, pointing at the lizard one of the giants has tucked under its arm.

“That one?” says Wegenthal “No, it’s too small, I think the Empire has larger breeds though.”

Later that night, you ask Bokin what he sees for himself in the future.

“I don’t know” he says “Maybe I’d become a Mountain-Speaker like grandfather?”

“And if” you stress the second word “if your grandfather had asked me to take you with me when I go, what would you say?”

His eyes go wide “Yes, YES!” he yells, boy you’re glad you asked him here in the cave and not out in the mountains where he could set off an avalanche.

“It would be great!” he gushes “we could see the world, fight monsters together, be the best of friends....”

He continues in this vein, seems that although he’s almost fully grown physically, he’s still a kid at heart, seeing it as one big adventure.

You wake the next morning in your dollhouse, Bokin is still snoring outside your window. Rising quietly you glide through the halls of the giants home, finding Wegenthal sat in the main hall, reading a book.

He looks up as you enter “Well?” he says “Have you made a decision?”

Wegenthals huge face splits in a smile “Very well” he says “Now, where are you off to?”

“I’d like to see the Dragon, Brearax” you say “Do you know where I should start looking for him?”

“Start looking?” says Wegenthal “No, but I know where you should stop looking.” He leaves the hall and returns later with a giant-sized map, spreading it out on the table you walk on to this carpet-sized map as his finger traces across the features “The old black bastard lives in this mountain range” he says.

“You are here” he indicates a peak “And Brearax’s lair is here” he points at another peak “With Bokin in tow you should be able to make it in 4 days.”

There’s a few tears as Bokin says goodbye to his family, but they wish him well, Making sure he has enough food, clothing, and one of their finest two-handed swords, which honestly, looks a bit big for him. Maybe he’ll grow into it.

Wegenthal proves as good as his word, giving Bokin a chain that when wrapped around his arm, takes him down to about 10ft in height. Hmm, with the right disguise (Or Hat of) he could pass for an ogre mercenary. Without the armband Bokin just tops 30ft in height.

You and Bokin set off together for your 4-day trek. As you travel you find out more about Bokin. He’s a young man, and enthusiastic but takes his duties seriously, and seems desperate to impress you. He’s also never left the mountain range, and you wonder what his first visit to a human city will be like.

He does a good ogre impression though.

After a long trek, you and Bokin approach a large cave mouth that you’re pretty sure is the entrance to Brearax’s Lair. Bokin is currently wearing his armband.

As you approach cautiously you hear a loud cry and a half-dozen 9ft-tall brutish humanoids come roaring out of the cave mouth. Some have clubs or crude swords, and two have large leather bags full of clay pots that they prepare to throw.

Ogres, wonderful.

Thank you for playing, I hope you enjoyed it.

There seems to have been some suspicions of railroading regarding teleport stone macguffin.

The plan was that the thief got away via teleport stone and could either try to figure out how the damn thing worked to follow him, or end up getting a ship there.

He was going to Kugan, where you would have found out more about Jianxi and her abilities.
Nevertheless, I pride myself on not forcing players down pre-determined paths (unless they can’t make a choice) and you did very well at cutting him off before he escaped.

The dice spoke and you ended up...somewhere else as a result. Which I did not plan for. I’ve mostly winged everything since you got teleported.

I hope to see you all there.

I'm with OP on this. I welcome the twist.

Who knows? Maybe the sorcerer we'll find to throw us back where we came from will also manage to take us back in time while he's at it.
>>
>>33383622
It made so much sense at the time.
It still does, I can't see any real flaws with that line of thought, I didn't expect RTL to even qualify as a real teleport.
If I had, then yeah, I would've said "don't teleport into a teleporter, goddammit", but I thought it was distant enough from regular magic teleporting to not count.

This is definitely a really interesting turn of events, though.
We aren't going to be irrevocably changed by the events here, right?
We'll still be a half-angel at the end, I mean.
The 'blood of dragons' thing doesn't mean we'll turn into a draco-angel or anything incredibly stupid like that, right?

I mean, Draco-Angel just reeks of original character do not steal, to me.
I like having our nice feathery wings, too.

Mfw I think about a Draco Angel
I totally want to keep the nice feathery wings though
>>
>>33383692
I currently have no plans for permanent transformations away from half-angel or to stack more 'half-thing' templates on you.

Sorry Mathrian

Temporary transformations can happen though.
>>
>>33383740
Some draconic bits, I wouldn't mind.
Lizards tails are pretty cute.
Our future self had 6 fluffy wings, though, so I doubt that'll change.

I just want the guys in Werewolf Fighter Quest to have a 'touch fluffy wing' option, really.
>>
>>33383740
>>33383769
Seraphim are pretty much serpents on fire with six wings. Getting some dragon in us would put us on the path of looking like the highest ranks of angels if we play things right.
>>
>>33383758

Thank you OP.

I think Sireyi is perfect as she is.

>>33383769
No argument here. I wouldn't want to do it permanently, but it would be cool if we transform into something like >>33381439

>>33383802
This guy knows how it is
>>
>>33383758
Thanks OP, that was the main thing I was worried about from reading the options on what to do here and how to get home.
So, how many options would dead-end trap us here completely?
Would you mind if we did other things once we had a way back home?
I don't really want to just abandon this world to the demons.
So, unless us getting home would pierce the dimensional barrier enough for gods and other such things to get a foothold again, we need to find another way to restore hope.

>>33383802
Not in this universe, or any other fantasy setting, really.
Future!Siyeri was just an adult us with 6 wings and a shit-ton of power.
>>
>>33383826
>Not in this universe, or any other fantasy setting, really.

See, that's my main beef with angels in fantasy settings. People default to all angels being humans with wings, there's a lot of crazy looks for the different ranks of angels that can be used.
>>
>>33383821
To clarify, the transform thing. It'd be cool if we could do that, IF we could transform back into pretty much regular Sireyi at will. Like how dragons are often able to take humanoid form and go back and forth at will
>>
>>33383821
>it would be cool if we transform into something

Warforms can definitely be a thing

anime-nude transformation sequence optional
>>
>>33383868
>Anime-nude transformation sequence optional

It is never optional, always mandatory.
>>
>>33383861

How about we keep the character's natural form as it is and she learns Shapechange instead
>>
>>33383868
>anime-nude transformation sequence mandatory
ftfy
>>
>>33383855
Those were the true forms, they never used those around humans because they'd literally melt our brains. Hypothetically.
We're also a half-angel, and I've never heard of a nephilim getting a true form transformation in that manner.

>>33383868
I'd be okay with being capable of turning into a giant six-winged angelic serpent-dragon thing.
As long as we get a dragon-form with feathers and fluff like oriental dragons.
>>33381439 basically. Maybe a little fluffier, six wings, a few other changes.
>>
>>33383826
>So, how many options would dead-end trap us here completely?

Staying with Giant Clan was an obvious beat-you-over-the-head-as-a-warning trap.

This world is significantly harsher than the one you can from, the gore factor will rise, the humour will be darker etc.

Dragons Lair does not have a trap option (other than, y'know getting captured or dying)

Island of Storms does
Dark Sister does

>Would you mind if we did other things once we had a way back home?

Not at all, securing a way home can be done in advance of exploring the quest options.

Hell, bring the party with you, I'm sure Bokin will enjoy having a pet puppy - though Matthias may disagree.
>>
>>33383972
>Island of storms and Dark sister do
If we bad-end, are you going to do that time-reversal roll back to a previous checkpoint thing some QMs do?
I'm so glad I voted to do Dragon's Lair first given that it has no trap options.
I figured there was a reason the elder giant called it the first step of our journey home.

What about the dimensional barrier thing, the way you make it sound, once we get home anybody (or any god) can just waltz in, no problem.
>>
>>33383914
In my opinion it'd be less changing the natural form and more gaining an additional one. Potentially.

>>33383951
Agreed on the fluffier and 6 wings. A halo would be cool too. Anyway, its surprisingly near what would be ideal for just finding it online.

>>33383972
I knew it. Last thing I wanted was to lock ourselves into something like that
>>
>>33384042
>What about the dimensional barrier thing, the way you make it sound, once we get home anybody (or any god) can just waltz in, no problem.

Sort of.

If you crack the barrier, it goes down for the whole plane.

Wizards/sorcerers can teleport in, Gods can grant powers etc.

But unless the demons hold on the plane is weakened, they can put it back up within a few months.

So cracking the barrier is temporary - unless you have an invasion force ready to go, or have already weakened the demons ruling this place.
>>
>>33384042
>If we bad-end, are you going to do that time-reversal roll back to a previous checkpoint thing some QMs do?

Wasn't planning on it.

If you end up trapped here then Quest continues here
>>
>>33384123
Ah, so we could go back to our home plane and get things, let all the churches know the situation and then go back in and wait to re-crack the barrier when it goes back up and we have an invasion force on standby?

Can we get a character sheet update with Giant's Strength and the 7 new points of Divine Energy?
Everyone seems to be in favor of those purchases.

>>33384137
I meant bad end more in the 'Demon rape-slave forever' sense than the trapped on another world sense.
If we get trapped in this dimension then it's just a matter of getting enough XP for worldstorm and killing the demon lord.
>>
>>33384123
So we crack the Barrier and then BLOW THE HORN! And slaughter the demons. Right?

You're welcome blow-the-horn anon
>>
>>33384242
Come back after sleep, first thing I see is this
based tripfag
Thank you
>>
>>33384185
>I meant bad end more in the 'Demon rape-slave forever' sense

If you had critfailed the teleport roll instead of regular failed I planned on you ending up in Hell

It would have been magical

>>33384242
I was intending to have the horn be blown when you fought Kilran Himself
>>
>>33384242
I was thinking we get a real solid army of paladins and several kingdoms, real gearing for war stuff,
get ready to march them all through first, and *then* we blow the horn and summon all the heroes as a vanguard for our liberation force.

Because calling it an invasion force makes me feel like the bad guy.
>>
>>33384242
how many heroes can be summoned at once anyway?
>>
>>33384290
fuck kilran, we're blowing the horn to save this otherworld and no rails shall stop us
watch us solo kilran by ourselves
>>
>>33384290
Okay, but you didn't answer the question about whether you would seriously end the quest in a bad-end like that.
Also please don't magical realm us just because of one particular roll failing.
Unless being in hell just means we're more likely to be raped, not instant rape forever.

>>33384332
You can use the horn multiple times.
It's been blown before.
>>
>>33384290
when you think about it this way, the fact that we landed in this other world is actually beneficial...
thank god we failed that roll.
>>
>>33384360
inb4 in 1000 years, sireyi is thought of as a god by 982748921749 random prime worlds
>>
>>33384294

What would they possibly have to gain by invading a completely different world? Nah, the world will have to take care for itself. Although I'm not adverse to some demon assasinations...

>>33384294
That sounds like a good idea. Might take too long though to get it started. If we summon them immediately we can possibly slow the progress of the demons locking off the plane.

>>33384360
>>33384377
I completely agree. I am really glad we got teleported here. It seems like a really cool world and I'm enjoying it so far. Not to mention we get to possibly save the entire plane. Which is badass
>>
Character sheet updated

Party pastebin updated.

Jianxi etc have been removed because I want the pastebin to reflect the current party, not the sum of all party members.

I have a copy of everything saved and can repaste it when you're back with them.

>>33384346
>Okay, but you didn't answer the question about whether you would seriously end the quest in a bad-end like that.

I'm enjoying this quest and have no plans to perma-end it.

>Also please don't magical realm us just because of one particular roll failing.

There will be multiple warning signs and failed rolls required on the road to any magical realm. I promise.

>Unless being in hell just means we're more likely to be raped, not instant rape forever.

Yes, that. Hell is an awful place but it is not 'game over' it's 'watch out for the demons of rape, murder, trolling and High Taxes'
>>
>>33384422
A whole new world untouched by religion that are saved by some random knights in shining armour
what the hell do you think would be the benefit?
I thought the motivation of the churches in helping this world would be obvious...
>>
>>33384377

>Angel of Hope
>Bringing light through the darkness, this time in your corner of the multiverse

I can dig it.
>>
>>33384445
this quest escalated quite quickly
first it was a village
than it was a nation
now its a whole world
>>
>>33384446

>have a wide fantasy world, relatively demon free, at our disposal
>let's take substantial part of our manpower that could be smiting sporadic demons and inquisitioning dark cults and fighting corruption and bandits and pour them into another world to fight against overwhelmingly superior numbers of demons and fiendlings

I'm sure the idea will be attractive to occasional adventurous knight, but I strongly doubt church politicians would care about the prospect.
>>
>>33384484
I know right. Whats next man...
>>
>>33384573

cuddling with Lady of Pain, obviously.
>>
>>33384548
In general, maybe not, but Konig is the patron god of CLEAVE AND SMITE,
so he'd probably start yelling at his paladins for not jumping on the demon-slaying boat.
>>
>>33384548
Most likely, considering how we play, it will most likely end with us assassinating all the demon leaders before blowing the horn in their palace
thank god we can kill the demons without impunity I won't be called a murderhobo anon anymore for once
>>
>>33384548
>konig
>not helping us after we get the horn for him
>not wanting to kill some demons and gain more worshippers that have been untouche by other religions
>>
>>33384594
Depends on if we find any demons that we believe could be saved.
Demons can be redeemed, after all.
There's even a power that specifically lets us use redeeming touch on demonkind.

Also they'd never suspect a demon of spying for that meddling nephilim.
>>
>>33384633

Thanks for spotting, done.

One day I will get Sireyi a castle and you can rule your own realm.

And fend off political marriage proposals

And build your own army, and fight orcs with it

>>

I'm going to bet 22
>>

>>
>>33384750
Can we get that 'what if you had done the dancing thing to meet the smuggler' Omake this time?

>>33384788
My money's on 12 more threads, so 19 total.
Mainly because this seems like it'll be more dungeons and adventure, less politicking.
Also, that is the correct way to spell politicking, if I see one more guy spell it politicing I'm going to cry.
>>
>>33384848
>Can we get that 'what if you had done the dancing thing to meet the smuggler' Omake this time?
