You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

“Hey, Barkas.” You walk over to Barkas, bowl of cereal for her in hand. “How about some break-“

“NO!” You jump, nearly spilling the milk and the cheerios. Barkas works hard at writing her script, typing away on her laptop. She woke up this morning with your notes, and from there she’s been able to get some work begun. Problem is, she’s been quite irritable. “GO AWAY! IT’S NOT READY!”

You smile. “I wasn’t askin-“

“GOOD!” Barkas returns to her typing. Sounds like machine gun fire it does. Naval Studies Merchant chats amongst themselves at the table. “Anyway, I will be taking the day off today. Got to get this thing all squared away!”

You cross your arms. “You sure? School’s important you know. And the Quarter’s actually going to end soon in a couple of weeks even. You need your education. Plus, we have practice too.”

“I am sure!” says Barkas. “Now leave me to my work!”

“Ah, come on, Barkas. Get your ass up. You can work on it during lunch or in the Library.”

“NO!” You grab her from behind and drag her to the bathroom where she can get a shower. She whines, kicking and fighting trying to get back to her laptop. “Lemme go! I need to write damn it! I need to WRITE!”

“YOU WRITE AT SCHOOL! COME ON!”

She squeals. “NOOOOOO!”

Barkas finally manages to relent, and soon, all of you are out of her dorm. You meet with your staff out in the cold. There’s quite the snowfall today in fact, and that necessitates everyone wear a coat, some scarves, gloves, and in Izumi of the Japanese Student’s case, a very nice hat.

You look around. “Hey, Nancy, you seen Kitten?”

“I called her earlier,” says Nancy. “It seems she stayed the night at Bernadette’s dorm.”

Ah, good girl. Nothing gets two girls closer than a nice slumber party.

Lisa sighs, rubbing her gloved hands together. “Well, I hope the snow doesn’t get in the way of practice too much, today. Fucking hate snow.”

“Ah, lighten up, Lisa!” You pat her on the back like Oryola would. She doesn’t seem too amused by that. “Snow’s awesome! You can fight in it! Roll around in it! Play in it! It’s all sorts of fun for girls of all ages!”

“Yeah, except me,” says Lisa. “Let’s just go to school.” She breathes heavily into her hands, shivering. “At least my parents aren’t making me go out caroling.”

Nancy says, “Right, you’re Jewish, aren’t you?”

“I am.” Lisa stuffs her hands into her pockets and buries her mouth into her scarf. “We don’t usually celebrate Hanukkah though or any of the holidays. Occasionally we visit the synagogue but that’s about it. We’re pretty celibate like that.”

“Interesting,” you say. “I’d like to know what it’s like celebrating Hanukkah.”

“Eh, it’s pretty fun when you got big families.”

“Please, Boss.” Lisa rolls her eyes. “If this turns into another lecture about Huxley-“

Ramirez says, “Did he ask you out?”

“… maybe. Um, we’re not doing anything Friday after practice right?” You shake your head. “Good, okay. Yeah. Just. Yeah. Whatever.”

“Alright. We’ll start on the StuG first, then we’ll send the Hellcat over to Walter Christie for conversion. Otherwise, we should be good, yeah?”

“Great!”

With that, you hang up. You look over at Lisa and Nancy, who are busy conversing about Huxley. Lisa says, “And he’s a bit of a slob, but I think that’s cute. Somewhat.”

Ramirez says, “Birds of a feather.”

“Oh shut up,” says Lisa.

You smile, crossing your arms. “Well, just remember, Lisa.” You wag your finger like a doting mother. “Practice safe sex.”

“Please, Boss!” Lisa throws her head back in frustration.

“Wrap it before you pack it!”

“Please!”

“Stow it, don’t throw it!”

“PLEASE!”

With that, you arrive at school. People are bundled up in their coats and winter clothing. Bernadette and Kitten are busy hanging up a banner for the Pep Rally this Friday. To your surprise, a big balloon in the cartoonish shape of a Sherman hangs above campus, with a banner below it reading “GO LGA!” Nice of them to do that.

If we are then:
>Work on the Pep Rally.
>>
>>33381985
We couldn't have done it even if we wanted to, since that'll cost us 30k before the match (KwK gun purchase), which went to Eliting most of our tanks.
The upgun is a marginal improvement anyway.
>>
>>33382036
We could have used the token.

and marginal improvements?

It increased armor penetration up to 20 to 30mm more then enough to take on the german armor during our match, might have given them a better chance

“Bernadette, Kitten.” They look at you. Kitten smiles while Bernadette has her usual resting scowl on her face. “You guys have fun last night?”

Bernadette nods. “Yeah. We just talked over on drawing. I taught her general tips on lines, the right pencil to use. Even working on buying her a tablet.”

“Cool,” you say. You run your hand through Kitten’s hair. She squeaks a bit, giggling. “You better make good use of that, okay?” You blink, tilting your head. “Have you always had that scarf?” Same scarf she wore last night in fact, but you don’t remember buying it for her or her ever buying it.

“Oh, this?” Kitten fingers it a bit. It’s a lovely red scarf, looks fluffier than Yukari’s hair. “Um, Bernadette loaned it to me.” You smugface at her. “Oh, stop.”

Bernadette says, “Anyway. We were just getting some of the banners up. Can you help us?” You nod. “Great. We’ll get more done if we split up. I already sent Betty and her girls, Claire and the others on their way too.”

You purse your lips. “Um… where are the Juniors?”

“The gym,” says Bernadette. “Seniors are at the cafeteria.”

You scratch your chin. “Can’t I just go with both of you?”

Bernadette and Kitten glance at each other. “Hm… I suppose we could,” says Bernadette.

“Great!” You pick up the spare banners. Paper’s heavy, but it’s no match for you. Punkass paper. Kitten sighs as you, her, and Bernadette walk off. First thing’s first. You have to walk down to the English Department building. Not too far, and thusly, you start getting the banners up. Bernadette decides to strike some conversation with you, inspiring a skeptical look from Kitten. “So, Gertrude. You have any fun last night?”

“Well, we mostly worked on brainstorming. Barkas is writing a play you see. And she is working adapting our match with William Adams along with the preceding events as well.”

Bernadette tilts her head curiously as you dump the banners down and get ready to tape it on a wall. “Really? How do you adapt a tank battle to the stage?”

You smile at that. “Very carefully I’m told.” Barkas was quite adamant on discussing the logistics of setpieces and props for the play. You don’t blame her, you have to wonder how much goes on backstage of a play. Even directing Red Dawn the Musical didn’t teach you much beyond that.

Kitten and Bernadette start planting down the doublesided tape. Kitten asks you, “So, you becoming a writer or something, Trudy?”

“Ah, I’ve considered it!” You grin mockingly at her.

Bernadette says, “Well, you’re no Paul Dini or Joss Whedon, I can guarantee that.”

“Of course!” you nod at that. “I have no idea who they are!’

“You’ll find out soon,” says Bernadette. “Speaking of which, Gertrude. You’re going to the Winter Ball, right?” Kitten pauses as she places down the tape.

You smile at Bernadette. “We can all go together!” Thump. You look over to see Kitten having slammed her head against the wall. “Something wrong, Kitten?”

Kitten pulls her head back, the tape coming to stick to her forehead. “Oh, everything is fine!” she says with a smile. “Everything is awesome!”

“Alright, so we’ll all go then. It’ll be great!” You snap your fingers. “Though, what are we going to do about guys?”

Bernadette shrugs. “We’ve got a thing going with Friedrich von Steuben. Our ships sail alongside each other, then we just have our ball. It’s tradition for schools to come together at least once a year, don’t you remember?”

“I thought we did that last year?”

Kitten says, “Don’t you remember last year?”

Oh right. Hell of a riot that was.

Bernadette checks her watch. “Anyway, it’s time for lunch. Let’s get this done.”

With that, you all quickly get the banner pasted to the wall, and then head on down to lunch. According to Bernadette, Betty packed together lunch for everybody down by the Lecture Hall. You arrive there and meet your Staff, the Juniors, and the Seniors.

Strangely enough. Henrietta Carnegie and Andrea Frick appear to be eating on opposite sides of the room. You look over at Claire. “What’s up with those two?” Henrietta and Andrea glare at each other, eating their pizza as angrily and emotionally as possible.

Claire says, “They broke up. I don’t suppose you could work your magic with those two?”

You take a slice of pizza and sit down next to Henrietta. “So. Same college huh?”

Henrietta nods, grumbling. “Yeah. We figured this out when we were freshmen too. Go to the same college so that we could stay together. Maybe even be roommates too! But then she comes out of nowhere, four years later, with ‘I’m going to a different college’ as if it’s the most normal thing in the world.”

You nod. “It does seem a bit clingy. You know? I mean, you don’t have to go to the same college.”

“You don’t understand!” Henrietta frowns. “Me and Andrea have been friends since Elementary school! And Claire too but no one cares about Claire.”

“And no one gives a fuck about you,” says Claire angrily as she and Bernadette work on a new banner. Kitten watches over their shoulder, curiously.

You sigh. “Maybe you shouldn’t be so hard on Andrea.”

Bernadette says, “Lunch is up. Let’s get back to work. Split off into pairs this time so we can cover more ground. We got Nancy, Lisa, Ramirez, Kitten, Betty, Marilynn, Jane, Andrea, Claire, Henrietta, Gertrude, and myself so that’s…twelve. Alright.”

You pat Andrea on the shoulder. “Come on, tough guy. Let’s go.”

With that, the pairs are split off. Henrietta goes with Betty. Marilynn with Jane. Claire with Nancy. Lisa with Ramirez. And Bernadette with Kitten. Seems like a working bunch. You and Andrea pick up some banners and start working.

“So, Andrea? You going to help me?”

Or rather. You work, and Andrea sort of sits by and plays around on her phone. You hold the banner up, trying to get it smoothly onto the wall. Difficult without two people.

Andrea rolls over the doublesided tape to you, without even looking up.

“Come on,” you say. “Is this about Henrietta?”

“Nah, I’m just like this,” she says. “Besides, it’s none of your business what’s between me and H.”

You cross your arms, letting the banner fall down. “Maybe I do. Kitten and I have been together for quite some time.”

Andrea bluntly says, “Have you two fucked yet? Because you should.” She gives you two thumbs up. “I’m rootin’ for ya.”

You roll your eyes. “Look. What’s between me and Kitten is a bit of a thing. I mean… I like guys! Handsome guys. But… yeah, I’d certainly make an exception for Kitten. And honestly, while I’d love to see if she’d make an exception for me. I simply don’t have time. We have the tournament to think about. But that’s irrelevant. I just want to set the record straight, alright?” Andrea nods. “Now, why are you heading to a different college?”

Andrea sighs. “Family. My father went to Dartmouth, figure he wants me in as a legacy, and I honestly don’t want to disappoint him. He’s an honest man, he’s a professor for crying out loud!”

“Oh. What’s that like?”

“It’s not as strict as you think, but I gotta keep my grades up,” says Andrea.

“Of course,” you say. “Did you let Henrietta know?”

She shakes her head. “Nah. I figure she wouldn’t understand and if she did, she’d try to force her way into Dartmouth. She’s already got it good with Wharton and I’d hate to see her throw that away just for me.”

Andrea huffs. “I don’t turn 18 until February. Until then, I’m a minor and I’m going to act like it.”

You sigh. “Well, tell you what. If you don’t tell her, what is your friendship going to be like>” Andrea stops texting. “I mean, I know I’d be devastated if me and Kitten weren’t friends anymore. It’s like losing your arm. Just… tell her. And be done with it.”

Andrea mulls over it. “Hm. Maybe you’re right. I suppose we can settle things tonight over dinner after practice.”

You nod. “Good!”

With that, School ends relatively quickly. You assemble with all the staffs out in campus. Andrea and Henrietta steer clear from each other, while Bernadette and Kitten steer as close to you as physically possible. Girls, please.

Trude made this clear several times.
>>
>>33384292
>Fucking how? How is talking to them possibly going to be a worse option than letting it linger?

This. It's pretty clear Trude's "density" is causing some harm to Kitten. Better to clear the air and either make a choice, or make it clear Trude can't choose (for whatever reason) and let them decide what is best for themselves. It's more mature and responsible and the last thing we need is a big drama blowout the day before the final match.

Voice this out already. Let them know that Gertrude is aware that both are trying to pursue a romantic relationship with her.

However, hash out an agreement with both of them that there will be no further pursuits of said romance until such time that the Academy is safe and secure.

If Gertrude has made it clear indeed, then why are they still competing with each other on who gets to spend the most time with her? Clearly, they're not dealing with this as maturely as we expect them to.

Have you ever dealt with teenage girls before?

And Trude hasn't even made it clear to Kitten or Fairless that she's waiting until later. Kitten's increasing aggressiveness makes it clear she doesn't get that, anyway, and we've sent way more than enough mixed signals to her and to Fairless to complicate things.
>>
> Head to the Tankery HQ

You all head onto the Tankery HQ. The snowfall has given you at least 6 inches of snow. Damn the school for not closing, but this is partly a Virginian school. Not one to let weather get in the way of education.

You arrive there in good time, before everyone else. Lisa says, “And those corporate bigwigs are still mulling over it. It’s a big shame you know?”

You shrug. “We already have a decent amount of money coming in and it’s not like we have to spend much more. We might even have a lot more to put into the treasury once the tournament’s over!”

“Of course,” says Lisa. “I’m just impatient about it honestly. Not that I’m being greedy or anything, it’s just, money talks you know? We need it if we’re going to keep LGA afloat.”

“Of course, of course.” You pat Lisa on the head. “Try to keep your head, alright?”

With that, your crews arrive.

With both of them. Kind of likely to both get Kitten's hopes up and make her anxious, don't you think? Well and Fairless, but she is actually more mature and has probably dealt with romantic rejection before so is likely to react less poorly to the anxiety.

“Alright, everyone.” You all assemble in the Hangar. The Hellcat has already been sent out to the Loading area to be sent to Walter Christie. “Let’s welcome the Cheerleaders, who have graciously volunteered to fill in for any undermanned tanks.” Everyone applauds and cheers on the rather shy-looking Cheerleaders. They seem a bit out of their depth.

Clara nods. “We are glad to provide support for the team in any way we can.” She points at you. “By the way, I still want that pencil.”

You nod. “You’ll get it.”

Wendy nods. “Right. Now that that’s out of the way. Today’s session will be covering snow survival for your tanks.”

Kate says, “We’ll be teaching you the proper use of anti-freeze, winterketten, and how to maneuver your tank in snowdrifts. Believe it or not, tanks are not specifically all-terrain and they will get bogged down. I’m sure most of you already know this but the point is we want you to learn this now and get it in your minds. Especially for the finals in case there’s a heavy blizzard. So we won’t be going over gunnery practice. It will be driving.”

Joanna says, “Also, snowball fights. That might be a thing.”

Wendy says, “No.”

“Yes,” says Joanna.

You all practice working on getting a fire going in the snow. The Girl Scouts, quite obviously, get it done the fastest, but the rest of you struggle onwards.

Clara shouts, “Just you wait, Gertrude Pool! I’ll have a fire going in no time!” Her Cheerleaders struggle to make fire out of the wet logs retrieved and some flint and steel. Well, good luck with that.

Wendy says, “It’s not hard, girls.”

Lisa angrily tries to light her fire on the wet log with some sticks and some leaves, all of them damp. “Fuck this shit! I’d rather be at the synagogue!” She throws the sticks on the ground. Wendy walks over, and Lisa says to her, “This is impossible!”

Wendy kneels down then says, “You got a lighter?” You all shake your head. Wendy sighs, then pulls out her own flint and steel, then reaches into her skirt pocket and dumps lint all over the log. Just a few balls of it, but enough to make you curious. With that, Wendy carefully and expertly sparks the flint and steel off onto the lint, which starts a few small embers of fire. “Blow on that, carefully.”

Lisa carefully bends over, and blows on it. The fire starts going in just a minute or two. “Wow!”

Wendy smiles. “There, wasn’t too hard.”

Thankfully, Wendy hasn’t forced you all into your gym clothes. But on the other hand, training in a trenchcoat, a scarf, your gloves, and your Tankery uniform means a lot of cumbersome stuff. Clara herself has given up trying to outrun is simply struggling to survive. Sarah Gordon of the Girl Scouts is scarily competent at running through snow.

Cathy coughs a bit, rubbing at her throat. “My throat’s sore!”

“Breathe through your nose, not through your mouth!” says Wendy. Octavia runs over and hands her some hot chocolate. “Hot chocolate, really?”

“It’ll keep her warm!” says Octavia.

Wendy says, “Alright! Stop!” Everyone stops, catching their breath, some falling over and sitting down in the snow.

You carefully put on a new pair of stockings. The other one got snow in it somehow and you suspect it’s because of a few pranksters in the tankery team. It was actually pretty funny, but you’re going to have to give Clara some lessons in manners when you have the time.

With that however, driving training commences. Joanna and Octavia instruct you all on the proper speed to go over soft snow drifts, which is at most 20 miles an hour. Joanna says, “Unless you’re me, you don’t go over that. Best case scenario, you lose control and spin out. Worst case, your track gets caught on an obstacle the snow covers up, and you snap it.”

Unfortunately, Lisa was not paying attention to that lecture and ended up snapping the track on a fallen log that you didn’t see. Thusly, you spend the rest of training digging the snow out, then having to repair the track. Lisa grumbles quietly as you hold the tracks in place for her, while Nancy and Ramirez wheel in a new bogie for the wheels.

The other teams however, are at least getting the hang of things. They drive over the snow relatively well. Your experiences with Pravda and Konigsberg has certainly taught them a few things.

And finally, Practice ends with you having repaired the tank. Kate gives you her report.

“Alright.” Barkas pulls in a whiteboard then starts fiddling on it with markers. “First things first! We build the tank rig. Now, Cathy has so graciously allowed herself to be the main viewpoint character of the play. Sorry, Gertrude.”

You shrug. “Eh.”

“Right.” Barkas starts drawing a rough square in the shape of a head on Churchill tank silhouette. “This will be the Churchill tank rig. We move it on springs and other apparatuses that help simulate movement within the tank. I’d suggest wires to help move it along, and wheels on the bottom so that it can be easily moved backstage.” She continues drawing more. “Setpieces will be simple, with-“

Stephenie Sykes says, “Wait. What does this have to do with your script?”

Barkas sighs. “I’m almost done with it. But I have this compulsive desire to design the set first, alright? We’ll get to that!”

The set has to consider the content of the script though, so if you run out of pages in the script then better get back to that before you add any details on the set that'll end up not getting used.

> Sykes has a point, shouldn’t you finish it now?

“Actually, Sykes does have a point,” you say. “You should finish it. Then get it through to the editors.”

Barkas goes a bit pale. “… editors. Ah shit.”

Perrine (Proud, not Hobart) asks, “What’s so bad about the editors?”

“Oh, well…” Barkas shrugs. “Well, the closest thing we have to editors here on LGA are the Reading and Writing Club. However… I’m… you know, a bit thin skinned on the subject of having my works edited, you know?”

You cross your arms. “Barkas, words ain’t going to hurt you.”

“But-“ Barkas stops herself. “Ah, fine. I’ll finish it tonight.”

Your stomach growls a bit. Probably time to head to dinner.

“Because, Dales. I want you to take a lesson from this. Barkas is quite passionate about Theatre and Theatre tech. And I don’t blame her, it’s an excellent elective to consider!”

“Sure,” says Dales. She crosses her arms. “Whatever. You won’t see me doing Much Ado About Nothing.” Barkas giggles a little. “What?”

You and Barkas end up at the BBQ place after a nice healthy shower. “You know,” says Barkas to Dales. They eat a few ribs slathered in BBQ sauce. “The Sentinel tank is quite the thing. Never saw combat in World War II, and yours only existed as a prototype.”

Barkas meanwhile has been explaining in depth the mechanics of the rig. “So the rig basically can shake, be moved easily, and is modeled on the interior of the Churchill. That way, you can get a full face view of the five girls.”

“Say, Barkas. Can I take a look at that script?” Barkas nods, bringing her laptop up, opening up the document, then sliding it over to you. “You know, Dales. You can probably learn something from Barkas. Maybe you have some skill in writing that you never knew about?”

Dales says, “I am as skilled in writing as a dog is skilled in speaking.”

“So… you’re not a writer then?’

“No.”

You sigh, then look through the script. It’s an early draft so far, so there’s plenty of spelling mistakes here and there, grammatical errors. It’s also in a strange script format. You’ve never actually seen the script format before so it’s a bit hard to wrap your head around. Otherwise though, everything appears rather faithful to what happened. At least from your perspective. There’s a decent amount of comedy too.

However… this does also imply that you’re gay for Kitten. You don’t mind that. You stopped caring about it, but what’s Bernadette going to think?

Gertrude reading one book was responsible for reducing any fire hazards around her.
And promptly passed said hazard to Fredendall.

"I read perfectly fine, when it's in proper English! It's the Greeks fault for using weird proses"

Wow, we've been mentioning Frendall a lot lately. Maybe it's time that we look her up and try to bury the hatchet. Sure she was a total Gertude and crew but maybe it's time to offer the olive branch and go for 100% capture rate.
>>
Really guys, we don't need higher caliber guns just for the sake of high caliber guns (directed at you, person who wants the KV-122) because they slow the fire rate down for little increase in utility. The tanks we have can pen practically everything we face, we don't need that overhead and reduction in firing rate. Also, super hellcat is completely unecessary but oh welll, it'll do fine for now.

“I read good!”

“You read well,” Dales says quickly.

“Whatever!” You slap the book shut and toss it back into the stacks. “I can read. I read so good-“

“Well.“

“That’s getting annoying, Dales,” you say. “Anyway, I read so WELL that by the time I was in the 1st grade, I was reading at the 5th grade level and the teachers be like ‘Gertrude, stop surpassing the kids, you’re making them feel bad’ and I told the teacher ‘go fuck yourself!’”

Barkas giggles a bit, kicking her legs as she works. “You must have gotten in trouble for that.”

“I got detention for a week,” you say. “But it was still bullshit.”

Dales asks you, “Speaking of which. How was school before you came onto LGA? That’s something we ask a lot of Freshmen when they come aboard.”

I only voted for Eliting, since the Jap team's tank hasn't been queued in yet.
Though, I only noticed it getting 100% once Excel Anon posted an update.

I just hope there's still sufficient cash for the Persh, Jackson, and a bit of room for Trude's M4A3E8.

>>
> You ever throw a guy out a window? That’s what it’s like.

You shrug. “Ever throw a guy out a window? That’s what it’s like.”

Dales nods. “Dayum.”

Barkas says, “Well, my middle school wasn’t that exciting.” She shrugs. “Then again, we Theatre kids get overlooked a lot. Not even bullies can be bothered to make fun of us, we do it to ourselves in that day and age.”

“Well…” Dales pulls a kitty cat bookmark out and places it where she stops reading, then shuts her book. “Tell you what, Gertrude. Sometimes we do have bad experiences like that in Middle School. In fact, I’d argue that Middle School either make or breaks you as a person, honestly.”

“Well, I spent most of Middle School beating up bullies, protecting my good friends Eugene and Kitten and making sure I actually got onto an Academyship.” You sigh. “Days like that were so much simpler.”

“So you long for the simple days when things were clear cut black and white.” Dales continues with, “When a child first catches adults out, when it first walks into his grave little head that adults do not always have divine intelligence, that their judgements are not always wise, their thinking true, their sentences just, his world falls into panic desolation. The gods are fallen and all safety gone. And there is one sure thing about the fall of gods: they do not fall a little; they crash and shatter or sink deeply into green muck. Iti s a tedious job to build them up again; they never quite shine. And the child’s world is never quite whole again. It is an aching kind of growing.”

You tilt your head. “Huh?”

“John Steinbeck,” says Dales. “You guys never read that in Middle School?” You both shake your heads. “O-Oh…” She blushes a little, looking away. “Okay then.”

Japanese Team T-34 is also Elite.

We're actually pretty good on the cash thing and should be able to afford most of what we need.

You and Dales settle into her bed, rolling the blanket over yourselves. “Um, guys.” Dales says, “That’s my bed.”

“Read us a bedtime story, mom!” Barkas says mockingly.

“Yeah, mom!” you say. “Read us something exciting!”

Dales sighs, rubbing at her nose. “Fine, fine. Let me see…” She rolls her chair over to one of her stacks of books. She starts filing through them, occasionally picking one or two out, but putting them back.

You smile. “Still, Dales. This is actually quite a hobby of yours. It’s not boring at all.”

“You’d be surprised by how many guys and gals find reading to be a boring hobby,” says Dales. “A man who refuses to read has no advantage over one who can’t.”

Barkas says, “Well, it’s still kind of exciting.” She cuddles up with you like your little sister. “Now come on! Bedtime story!”

“Fine… let’s see…” Dales holds up three books. “Which would you like?”

“Hm? The Count of Monte Cristo? Alright then.”

“And then tomorrow night, can you read us Catch-22, mommy?” asks Barkas.

“Please,” says Dales unamusedly. “I already feel like an old woman compared to you two. I don’t need more of this.”

“Come on, we’re just joshing you,” you say. “Come on, read it!”

“Fine, fine.” Dales shuts off the lights, then picks up a pair of reading glasses from her desk. She puts them on and then flips to the first page. “On the 24th of February, 1810, the look-out at Notre-Dame de la Garde signaled the three-master, the Pharaon from Smyrna, Trieste, and Naples.

“As usual, a pilot put off immediately, and rounding the Chateau d’If, got on board the vessel between Cape Morgion and Rion Island…”

Nooo~!
4-way or Tank Tag Team (LGA+other school vs. 2 other schools) with 10 tanks each is the most optimal solution.

Players already have a hard enough time tracking our own team's positions, much less the enemy's.

Effectively doubling that number would just exacerbate any lapses in judgment already pervading this quest.

Remember the words of Sauders' Kay:
>"This is senshado, not war."

Rereading the earlier portions, I wonder if that choice was a mistake.

That fairless was the one to raise the issue of bringing kitten means that she and kitten must have spoken about it and likely came to an agreement that trude brings kitten to it.
