The initial survival hurdle has been passed now will you yet continue to draw breath or shall the world come crushing down upon you?

Last time among our people(who still don't have a name btw). Successfully imbued their weaponry and armor with jungle power, slaughtered a bunch of zombies, and a run in with the infamous Syn Syndicate.

Bandits were impressed and people got thrown up on. Overall a good day and thread.

Right now your people of a bunch of odd cultists and zealots located in a overgrown jungle that has overtaken this section of the megacity. Your part is rife with all manner of threats and you seem to have few decent neighbors. Considering your 'best' neighbor is a bunch of no good dirty ass bandits that is saying something.

Now as for that major bonus...its pretty fucking big.

Considering talk of civ plans I will say it DOES grant you the possibility of a new civ start or recruiting a large amount of another civ.

So yeah...its that big.

Like I said major bonux. Either way it needs to be determined this thread.

Also desperately need a fitting pic.

Why would we ever choose that Genie? It's like, after all these sweat blood and tears we would drop a civ we cared so much for before the inevitable driving it into the ground.

>or recruiting a large amount of another civ.
This on the otherhand. . .could prove interesting.

And what is with the sudden interest in zombie?

You DO realize that is mostly about them being so fucking stupid that there are side effects right?

Which makes it easy for me to use them to their full potential because when you get down to it...well zombies are much more dangerous then they are given credit for despite the whole stupidity which while being their greatest weakness can sometimes even prove their greatest strength.
>>
>>33474034
How we never use our stupidity as a strength. . .besides, Zombies have and still are the most numerous foe we have ever faced, and they do not suffer from hunger penalties in fact they get stronger when they are hungry.

They are also protected from psionic tampering by their god. . .She whom everyone knows by now.
>>
>>33473976

I would vote for

Jungle Loving - The Jungle just fucking loves us and will do damn near anything for us. Our forces and the Jungle are, pretty much, inseparable.

Whoever comes up with some actions needs to include shipments of food and water to the bandits.

Anyway still working on ghouls but these are the major groups I am pleased with and have successfully worked out.

There ARE others but I just ain't happy with them just yet...

Rad ghouls against popular belief don't just LOVE the places that are radiated to hell. In truth they actually have a fancy for any environment that is especially hostile. Its believed that this trait has proven so popular as to make this previously unknown and rare archtype among the most popular ghouls today.

For some reason they gain strength from their environment at the cost of increasing hunger and degeneration.

Cannibalistic Ghouls occurs when one takes part in the flesh of their own kindred. Its a disease that for the most part slumbers unless you keep feeding it...which will then awaken it for its full splendor. An addiction of flesh for their own kind, degenerated mental faculties, and tough form are their hallmarks.

Interestingly enough this is also the hallmarks of the Zombie...

REDACTED INFO EXPUNGED RECORDS DETECTED.

Three primary categories otherwise known as the most common of ghoulish kind.

Rad
Cannibal
Monster

The three largest of ghoul kind.

Rad are known for their favorite environments, accelerated hunger and rapid degeneration.

Cannibals are known for those who take part in the flesh of their own kind. they are reviled due to them picking up the ghoulish disease which gives them a craving for flesh, unending hunger, and warped body/mind. What triggers the disease to activate however is a bit hard to pin down.

If previous ghoulish info is posted I may deign to provide additional information.

You ARE in a megacity.

Density for nasty things is sorta of a given.

Granted for some reason it HAS been strangely quiet around your area. Kinda annoys me no fucking reason it should be that way. Like fuck...

Come to think of it anon might actually have a point in some way.
>>
>>33474456

I assumed it was because it's nigh-impossible for most civs to find the other civs what with all the overgrown-ness of the city. You mentioned that it would be difficult/nigh impossible to find other people in this shit when we first began.

Depending on how we spend our boon I think we'll survive whatever storm has been brewing unbeknownst to us.

And...what I want to burn the bonus on is pretty obvious to me. Might not be the best decision though, anyone who's been watching us will know the type of stuff we're into so this wouldn't give us an ace in the hole.
Then again, anyone watching us might be caught off guard by our powers suddenly getting cranked up to 11 in effectiveness.
>>
Rolled 65

>>33474565
The reason you think your on the cusp of gratness or destruction is because your playing with fire.

That 'greatness' is actually an adrenaline rush which helps dull you before the pretty 'lights'.

Blinding you to the actual threats and dangers.

Sure it might seem fun at first but...your sorta beating around the bush being unaware of actually how dangerous said bush is but you want the power...but only a little bit. Problem is said power even a little brings a whole lot of danger.

Normally this is dealt with by being cultist as the forbidden lore chosen can nicely deal with it. Yet all your boons...were dancing around it hard to get a bead on it all. That is risky even by Cultist standards your getting much greater risk for lesser reward.

Well we've got ritual knowledge coming out of our ears, we sacrificing to improve the jungle's power, we've got weapons/armor that draw power from the jungle, we've got jungle control, and then semi-randomly we withdraw people's souls whenever we kill them.

We do need to be careful, but this might be one of those where the answer is kind of staring us in the face.

I think the best thing I think can take right now is:

>Favorable Empathy of the Jungle
The Jungle (prereably all types of Jungle, not just "ours") favors us, knows us, likes us, adores us with the same love we give it, and no matter what heinous sin we commit against it it shall always love us, seek to aid us and work with us we ask or need it.

Vines wrap around us when we go into hiding, experiments in laboratories seemingly go well revealing new info, hungered scouts always find fruit, and our crops grow as never been seen before.
>>
Rolled 94

>>33474982

He's around, but I have things that prevent me from scraping the archives for clues for hours like I used to.

Here are my notes, not really many comments in this one but I copy+pasted various stuff. http://pastebin.com/Wbh0fhiR

>>33475060
Genie commented in a past thread that he expected us to take "Forbidden Lore: One with Jungle or something like that so you'd tie all your bonuses together."

The one above has the advantage of giving us tons of lore and such about the jungle as well as amplifying our powers and such because the jungle is 'ours' (and we are its).
>>
>>33474996
Then with the boon lets turn this jungle or our area in to our jungle. Let there be no iffy bits. The jungle's love for us makes it become whole with us or something.
>>

Storytime

So..we got captured dragged along luckily they grabbed the wounded guy while me...I got to look forward to having a gun pointed at my back the entire time. Took us a little awhile but eventually we ran into a crude fort. Broken pieces of building and welded heaps of vehicles, metal scraps. There was a crude gate that was opened. First thing I noticed was smell followed everyone who there was packing.

That was when we went our seperate ways and i was dragged off. Past the crude open aired kitchen where I noticed a few cooks and guards as well as chained and or collared women attempting to work. that is when they weren't bent over and fucked right there.

Usually this didn't happen in the kitchen as the cooks would get pissed about them 'getting in the way' about outside in the mess hall it was fair game. Not uncommon to see a full blown train ran through them.

Quite vile after all me however I was passing through these ruined crude areas off to a certain ragged structure...one that had at one time been a pharmacy had the look to it. But we weren't going there next door to it in even more ragged and somehow bloody shape there was a blinking neon sign crudely stating it to be a 'clinic' the other parts of the sign was nonfunctional. There i didn't go through the big door unlike the wounded but was instead taken around to the side and up the stairs.

"Uh..."

"What do you know?"

"Well basic first aid training, hands on experience, and reading whatever medical texts I can."

"Well that certainly puts you above most and in many circles we see these days you'll be considered a doc. Alas we actually have standards here."

"And what makes you better then me?"

"I was a medical student."

"Oh wow how impressive!"

"I can notice the sarcasm granted stuff happened before i could graduate properly but i by far have better know how then 90% of those today being considered a doc."

Host another Festival to our Gods, this time we seek one who fears not death, but embraces it. Who seeks to die only to honor the gods.

Have our Prophetess cast lots among our rank and file, and select 20 individuals chosen by the gods. Then by combat under the eyes of our gods, they shall fight, to the death, atop the great "Stomach of the Jungle" (renamed as such for not actually being a heart). There, the fearful shall be cast aside, while the fearless, the one, shall prevail! He shall be our chosen one who fears not death.

Ritual has been performed on the bandit's gear and they came by for pick up to reacquire them.

The ritual itself...went extremely well. In fact it was freakish how well it went and just how heavily imbued their gear is now it practically reeks of jungle power to such a degree they were actually concerned about it.

>>33479183
Yes you do...

Holy fucking shit I just figured out larger scale civ with actions limitation figured out.

Okay kiddies here is how its gonna be possibly.

Its not how much people you have per a say, how efficient, plans, or even turf.

Rather is your zone of control. Say you are effective only within your base area you get one action.

You expand to include your homeground area that is another action.

You expand to your local region that is yet another action.

You expand to multi region scale. Yet another action.

Continental another action.

Planetary another action and so on.
>>
>>33479274
That sounds very biased to the type of terrain, and also having population=actions is a staplemark of your games, a longheld tradition that would be missed.
>>
Rolled 54

>>33479274
Said 'actions' represents putting together ALL your resources and spare time doling them out together in mass.

Thus an 'action'.

Stuff may of course be automated or become self sufficient.

To basically represent in loose terms the amount you can put together every 'turn' each action represents in total what can be scrounged together in a possibly overarching plot or focus.

you start of with your HQ will is the only settlement that is guaranteed to offer an action no matter how badly things go against or for.

settlements and pop alone will and cannot make certain of an action.

An example for you to understand is the following.

The memor.

As they globe of influence expanded they were able to put together more and combined with the efficiency the hivemind could offer...

Another example this time as canon and not player.

ghoulish Krulsade vs Red Army.

>>33479348
Manpower is always needed. Remember to really consider your globe of influence your own your gonna need settlements to serve you. Really though I had to figure something out for larger scale civs this FINALLY offers a solution.

Acquire resources.

Produce manpower.

Protect your interests.

Population will still be VERY important.
>>
>>33479436
I would like to expand and add more settlements, but I wouldn't feel safe until we've at least reached Memor starting population of roughly 2500 before we do any major expanding like they did. Base Burk had 2000 people in it alone, and it still wasn't entirely secure. no way we could set up a second base with mere hundreds.

Basically we really should get our population to those levels before we start emulating their expansion.
>>
Rolled 10

>>33479436
At first appearance Ghoulish Krulsade should of won.

They were seemingly a continental power against a multi regional such as the Red Army.

Except for one the following.

They hadn't actually had the entire continent under their control.

They were fighting in Red Army lands.

They were not a professional force fighting to protect their land, people, families, belief ect.

Action wise they were equivalent but when you factor in the other stuff it became lopsided.

Yet still they hung on.

Why?

>>33479436
Those actions offered by the way?

ARE SOLELY GENERAL ACTIONS.

AND

There is no longer an action cap.

That means you can invest in such as to acquire 'free' actions of certain kinds as well as stuff offered by heroes became that much more important.

Those actions offered?

Are soley your basic actions.

There is no longer an action cap.

in exchange however those that offer 'free' actions and to allow automation or specialized stuff will of course become more expensive but harder to acquire.

This allows for specialty to arise where you can truly flourish in and crush competition...if your willing to invest in it enough to get those returns.

>>33479514
It includes a bunch of other stuff as well anon basically combined it offers such.
>>
Hmm, actions actions actions what to do. We have resources at least, and I know we did some planning last thread. Lemme go back and see.
>>
Rolled 43

>>33479576
and with pop fixed...well and this finally determined.

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to large scale civ potential.

NO longer shall we be held back utterly by pop.

NO LONGER shall we be held back by actions.

NO LONGER SHALL we be held back away from large scale civs.

and this ties in perfectly with my previous working in the two types of gameplay.

Where players can either each control their own civ OR each play as a special unit sharing a common civ.

Truly a grand breakthrough...so many in so short a time.

Population.

LARGE scale.

What more is there to determine?
>>
>>33479576
This is a very radical change in one of the basics of playing of your games, I'd like to take a closer look at it but for now I'm just so used to the old system.

>>33479688
I'd like to help you with large scale population.

Getting the pop back to 2500 has been a goal of mine in every civ yet, it's a huge dissapointment and humiliating that we're stuck to hundreds and are so easily killed when they were capable of losing 3 Times as many population as any one of our civs and bounc right back.

I swear one day we'll see it again.
>>
Rolled 29

>>33479730
It is rather radical...

Still though this is something I have been trying to figure out since the Memor.

And now i have it down.

Population basically serves to grease the wheels so to speak.

Makes everything easier and god help you if you have too little.

It is still VERY much important to an incredible degree.

I have been thinking about it the wrong fucking way about it this entire time because I thought it should be all about the pop with only a smattering of the other stuff or possibly settlements. I was thinking of the actions that way because I was ALSO trying to figure population at the same time. Now that one was completed I was then able to look at the other with new clarity.

sure that is important...but overall it is not everything.

Actions basically equal that everything you have to put together to pull it off or at least try to anyway. Thus it isn't solely pop, settlements, resources, or the ground you can cover.

Its all of that and more coming together to complete a single purpose/action.

That is what they are.
>>
Rolled 25

>>33479901
Though it seems like my rambling has killed the thread...shit.
>>

We decided to build a proper laboratory...which went astoundingly well. Sure it ain't anything fancy but it will at least get the job done so long as it ain't too complicated.

After that we had the prophetess sit around hearing the prospect of a breeding center was discussed and decided upon. That was when the Prophetess brought up match making stating that while yes that does result in greater population gain problem is there is less attachment and further draw on resources due to lacking quality. Amazingly enough Witch agreed with her the Seeker for his worth just muttered something about 'hiveminds' and 'family' fixing those so called problems along with how much fun it would be.

It was also brought up that currently we don't really have any gods.

We COULD ask around to see what crops up or go digging around in the library to see.

Identify: Able to determine rough stats and other info from target. Including possibility of turning them and weaknesses/strengths.

As an adviser...you actually get some interesting stuff. As in...special units to be precise you get 2 special units, 1 badass, 1 elite, and a basic troop.

In that regard

Special options

>Witch/Warlock

special unit doesn't have to be solo btw.

Its a special unit as in they'll contain/be made up of undead.

Captain seems a bit limiting suppose that could earn a boon in power though...but undead aren't exactly all that well accepted. Having leader type with no minions is a bit odd.

And that is my final complaint.

so that stuff needs to change or more simply make something new as in base it off of it.

Like this for instance.

The intention seems to be that we might aquire more undead minions later on. Why we chose that without a witch/warlock makes me want to reconsider.

I thought that was the point of having an undead captain. A being that had undergone hundreds of years (possibly) of warfare, and never needs to sleep. He could also train our troops.

>Troops who are cheap to maintain
>With some Quality Specials

Okay, so here me out here guys. I suggest, if it were possible, we forgo the Badass units and go for Elite Ranger-Snipers.

These men will, as Rangers, be able to forage for food and water more easily, thus decreasing our consumption of fod and water. As Snipers, they will also be highly effective stealthed units at range and we will be able to train more of them and they will be very cost effective.

Thus, even with our small size we can still prove an efficient and capable force.

Is this acceptable Genie?

Those would all be lopped into one cohesive Ranger-Sniper person, with the capability to train more of them yes? I'm planning for them to be our mainline troops, not the grunts, but certainly a sizeable number of them. Say out of a force of 100 you'll find 20 or 30 Ranger-Snipers

"Considering dangerous war torn lands everywhere with us being in the borderlands by the narrowest of margins with wilds before us."

"When one also deigns to consider the settlement that will be ours. Here is my suggestions."

undead Knights
Outsider Spirits

Elite Sniper
Bad ass rangers

Basic Footmen

"They would be damn cheap and pack one hell of a punch. Spirits offer us magical support undead knights a hardened cavalry force and heavy troops both. Elite snipers for guarding and the occasional offensive. Ranges to screen our flanks and get the lay of the land. Basic infantry for boots on the ground. I don't really wanna wait till Tuesday though so I will see what I can do either tomorrow or this weekend.

I believe we only got to boons. Which it would be Dryads and well, Castle and well and so on.

I believe the well will be the best thing we could get starting out. Probably will have to put that thing on lock down. Undead will be a pain but thinking if we use them at night or maybe cover them with a plant the Dryads could make to help hide them would help. Spirits not so sure on. I want to think people of this time understand they are here in the world and more people except them.

urk so sick today anyway here is what I am gonna do.

You can have the indoor spring and the badass dryads if it pleases you.

While the keep is in disrepair that isn't really all that big of deal.
>>
>>33491211
Oh yes, then do that. Getting dryads would normally be harder than repairing the keep
>>
>>33491211
Cool. Then we can add the base repair to the story. Like found this place or it was a family fort the went down from lack of repair and we came to reclaim it.

Alright here you go.

stat info for troops.

Undead Knights
Trait Undead

Officer Jargens a death knight odd fellow as not 'quite' dead or alive for that matter. Commands the undead knights under him are about two score.

Gear are mounts and their equipment. Bit on the battered side but still quite serviceable.

Upkeep cost

Bare minimum they only need their gear taken care off of and on. They don't even require much pay but in exchange there are certain things their interested n.

Outsider Spirit
Trait Spirit

Officer known as Genie odd fellow who your forced to deal with for the sole fact its the only one who can take a humanoid form and is willing to deal with others. Noted to best not ask about personnel life or wishes.

Gear...is nothing at the moment depends upon the individual.

Upkeep cost is regular odd payments. Stuff is weird with what they request Genie brought up a different means of payment but it has yet to be investigated. So far their not expensive but more weird.

Elite Snipers
you have about a 50 of them. Top quality snipers where they lack in everything that rangers due besides accuracy and ranged they more then make up for in those two things. They wield crossbows and prefer lighter mail and leathers.

Officer Kandace leader of the elite snipers possesses a rare magi weapon as a reward for being the best of the best.

Upkeep cost is less then expected as they are pretty good about taking down the occasional critter which helps it not hurt as much. Still require pay though and unlike the rangers they don't regularly bring in stuff to help offset it.

Bad ass rangers

For when you need someone to cover ground quickly, effectively, and behind enemy lines while still making it out intact these are your guys. Not including their duties at screening, covering flanks, and acting as skirmishers. They seem to be flourishing out here in the boonies its the damn near perfect environment for them.

Upkeep bare minimum thanks to their skills they like the undead knights you don't really suffer that much. Hell often enough they downright supplement you and your forces with what they manage to bring in regularly.

Officer Joyce the one ranger who you can actually reach regularly unless there are some wounded recovering. Unsurpisingly also serves as the officer/liaison between you and them. Commands about 50 guys. Unlike the other rangers his other duties prevents him from going on real long trips regularly. So instead he tends to be much more thorough with his 'explorations'.

His rangers hate him for it but he has to do something to stay sane and make up for it, also a fabulous trapper.

Gear is hides, carapace, and light metals along with bows, and light melee weapons.

Basically they like their armor light and their weapons light besides their bows.

Upkeep...is actually a positive as in they bring up much more then they cost.

Bad Ass dryads

Officer Cecilla connected to a treent known as Cracks to everyone but the dryads. To be fair though its actual name is a bitch to pronounce.

A bunch of badass dryads who are unlike many of their brethren not limited in mobility or distance. Suffice to say they are well worth it though you are rather uncertain how to deal with them as while the spirits are certainly unusual at least they are not Fae.

Upkeep

well it doesn't cost anything to maintain them but they still require payment. At the moment you have been rather inventive about it so far but they ain't exactly cheap if you pay them in classic means.
>>
>>33491710
>>33491877
Cool the rangers will help with some. But the dryads will be the hard part. I hope a place of land to call their own and basic needs helped with will be ok with them. I assume they will not be happy with us cutting down a lot of trees.

Well thanks for the info Genie. Can we take this as your willing to run while your sick or do you want some time to wake up?
>>
Rolled 16

>>33491877
Basic Troop Footmen

numbers 100

Gear breastplate and leather. Short Sword, spear, and shield.

Hardened veterans thanks to these wartorn lands their officer is Captain Rainheart who started off as bottom barrel and worked his way up to being an officer without any help, bribes, or training. Not even a noble but a commoner of all things.

Him and his boys are veterans and well trained.

Upkeep is the general unlike your other forces who can supplement it or require/want different means of the usual these guys are classic.
At the moment despite being an adviser who decided to strike out on your own and establish your own territory. Simple enough captured this keep and acquired troops to serve you. Problem is things are quite skewed there aren't exactly many here besides your troops and they may end up getting antsy with lack of...company. Potentially useful depending on how you wield it.

Your family isn't exactly all that happened you decided to go this route they expected you to either return and help out the family or join up with some other force not strike out on your own as an adviser of all things.

So it certainly caught people off guard but alas who cares about them once you graduated you pulled your strings, packed up, and then left.

At the moment i am uncertain as to HOW you managed to acquire these troops of yours exactly. Fluff will be rewarded and Iam trying to figure out how to do introduction. Work in progress so until then make suggestions/ask questions whatever.

>>
>>33492047
Alright. Foot men and snipers were troops we built up in our home town. We started to make our way to this untouched place and got lost. That's when we met the rangers who helped us out. They told us of ways to no piss of the forest people. We asked if they would be willing to help us to our detestation. They agreed for a price. Then as we made our way to the keep. That's when we saw the knights, Forever protecting the keep. We made a deal to help rebuild this place they call home and in turn they lets us live here. (They also wanted to have people to talk to. Begin alone for so long is no good to any one.) After some time of getting things up and running the rangers left for a bit. (The undead is not something they were use to.) When they were gone we got lay and cut the wrong part of the forest and that is when we met the dryads.

Anyway from what I can determine.

Foot Soldiers simple enough to acquire your time at the schooling you could easily have made some connections with the rangers, sniper, and foot soldiers.

Alas the other three dryads, undead, and spirits not so easy to explain.
>>
>>33492209
The rangers coming back to see this. Well they were not happy and the dryads were about to bet us down. But then the adviser came up with a plan and made a deal with a Spirit (aka Genie). That we will fix our wrong doings if the dryads will show us way to fix this place up with our harming the forest. Dryads not liking more damage being done and seeing this as a chance to understand humans better agreed. The spirits stayed as a way of making sure the deal is being done and hell they had free time. That is if we give a little bit of faith here and there or offerings.

hm...Genie card...

Fuck. Fine.

So thanks to your insight/identify ability you were able to acquire enough information as to turn the undead knights to your side.

Your rangers, snipers, and footmen you acquired while you were basically growing up, going to school, ect. They came with you when you moved out.

You encountered and successfully got the undead knights to join you.

You had a run in with a Spirit known as Genie who made an interesting offer. Odd fellow but helps you out as long as you don't ask personnel questions and you were also smart enough to not ask about wishes.

Dryad wise...hm.

Encountered Dryads things would not have ended well but luckily for you the knights were away and you had the spirits along with the rangers with you.

With a bit a work you were able to convince them to come with you thanks to one of them being an old childhood friend of yours. Sadly you were only able to take so many of them with you for obvious reasons and slowly added onto them.

Bam.

Details can be figured out later unless someone wishes to offer additional fluff?

Now about that intro...any suggestions? Or writing must say I loved the anon who made up the one i have adopted with like the cultists much better then my original stuff.

The Didrickson family, though neither ancient nor new, has a longstanding tradition of expert huntsmen and marksmen with few contenders, valuing accuracy, precision, and efficiency.

Their ability to go behind enemy lines, scout out enemy forces and terrain, as well as perform excellent guerrilla and skirmisher tactics as highly mobile ranged forces, makes them a prized addition to any able bodied force and sought out as soldiers for hire. To the armored knights and swift cavalry, they can prove just as deadly, as what good will all the armor and swords and muscle in the world do if you cannot keep up with the enemy who constantly shoots at you and stays out of your range? Whom are as easy to hold down as an eel, and harder to find in the woods than a diamond in the sand? Maneuvering in highly skilled and small groups, a formidable formation can soon find themselves a pincushion of arrows and bolts.

The Didrickson family have also taken a habit of churning out great advisors, who are able to sieve through the flood of messengers and gathered information to make good strategic and tactical advice to the many kings and barons and generals who hire their forces.

One such advisor was Sir Richard Jeffery Didrickson the 5th. Taking with him some of the family rangers and expert crossbowmen, he gathered a force of his families hunters whom were loyal to him.

He then used his familiar inheritance to purchase a decent force of footmen, and with this force, set out to make his way in the world, to find glory for himself or to expand the families honor? Only he knows.

On their journeys to find themselves a place to call home, Richard came upon an odd spirit. Though there are many rumors all of conflicting nature, no one has deciphered why or for what intention this strange Djinn has decided to work with Richard, but few dare question why.
>>
>>33492899
Richard decided to go to one of the most war torn regions of the land, where surely such a place strife with war one who could tip the sides of battles with information could easily find employment. And as their rangers moved through the thick forests, avoiding the roads and their armies, they were not alone nor noticed.

Dryads, creatures of the wood and realm, have long since been wary of the man races and interlopers of the forest. Used to seeing vast armies hack and burn down vast swaths of forests to trample roads of stone for wagons and machines of war, they were very surprised to see humans who did not do that. Instead they bobbed and weaved through the forest, leaving it intact, hiding their trail. Curious, they approached them and in due time were enamored by these rangers who knew how to live and survive in the forest like they did (to a degree, at least). With communications underway, it was all Richard could do to sway them to his side with the promise of gold, the metal which speaks to all races, even the dryads, but they would accept other payments than gold it was hoped.
>>
>>33492920
At last, they stumbled upon the ruins of a keep, a castle seemingly hidden and forgotten, but as they soon found out, not uninhabbited. Through means, not yet discovered, the ancient dwellers of this place still lived, and yet did not live. Knights who still guarded and protected their castle and its miraculous from ages past, not even death stopped them from safekeeping it. Years they fought backarmies who sought to take it, they prepared to fight these new invaders but were surprised when the usual start of battle was absent, and in it's place words and diplomacy which hitherto they had not experienced from the living. With the promise to help bring back life to their castle and keep it in their hands, not slay them to the last like many others, the Undead Knights agreed to work with this man who did not seem to care all to much for their living impairment.

And so here it is you find perhaps, the most unlikely group of beings gathered under one roof. A small force who, in time and with wisdom, may yet be reckoned with.

And with that, I have to go to work. Darn
