In a World of Darkness and Light, Monsters and Men, Dragons and Griffins, Witches and Mages, Heroes and Legends, Kingdoms and Empire's, there is much strife and war. Peace in all four corners of the world is a very rare thing of beauty. Kings and Emperors are fighting for power and land on both battlefields and at court. However, you're not part of this struggle for power, not yet. For reasons unknown you don't remember your life as a human nor the torture you went through to become what you are today; A twisted being of dark magic, your body has been mutilated and corrupted beyond its limits. However, like many dark beings before you, you've been chained by the power that rules behind the scenes of politics and war in this world; The Holy Church.

Created by darkness and leashed by the light, you're a monster under the Church's will. You are an Inquisitor, the last of its kind. Once a man, twisted by magic, you now serve the Church as a hunter or a judge against monsters, witches, renegade mages and all the evil that oppose the holy order.

You decided with your party that it would be best to explore the city before anything else. The city had 18 tall skytowers rising up towards the heavens. Along with that there were an abundance of luxery houses that were as big as human inns that housed a single elf or spirit family. They were living quite wealthy here. They loved their vanity as well; Everywhere you looked there was gardens of roses and other flowers along with fountains dotting the city. The Citizens made sure to stay out of your way, but of the spirits either ignored you or followed you for some reason.

"What do you want to see first?", Theresa asked, spinning around to face the group after she'd been leading you around for an hour.

>A. Where the leaders of both races are.
>B. The Famous elvish garden

"The elvish garden.", Autumn cuts in before anyone can make a suggestion. The elf child nods excitedly upon the templars suggestion. Benjamin doesn't have any objections either. While you'd want to see the leaders sooner or later to catch up with Austec, the gardens will do for now. Theresa leads you through several blocks of long streets with large houses on both sides and past a skytower on the way before you reach the elvish garden. The elf child immediately rushes ahead, with Autumn following her in a quick pace, as to not lose her.

Upon entry, you're met with several large statues of ancient elvish heroes holding their swords, axes, lances and bows. The most famous of them stands in the middle and it's been turned into a fountain; It's a potrayal of the duel between the Elvish King Teheen and the two elder twins of the Emperor who ruled the Imperium at the time. Teheen won, but lost the battle, the war and along with it, also the Greensberg. A tragic story of a great hero and his people.

The entire garden itself is surrounded by tall and thick bushes filled with flowers you've never seen before. They range from black to azure to pink. It's a sea of colours all around you. Four marble benches have been placed alongside the path around the statue of Teheen. You seat yourself down on one of them while Autumn and Benjamin sits down on another as the elf child runs around in the garden, ecstatic. Theresa sits down next to you, looking over at you.

"What?", you ask her annoyingly. She's been staring at you ever since she joined the party, "So, I noticed Autumn looked your way a lot of times while we headed east; Is there a thing going on between you two?", she asked and she sounded genuinely curious.

Is there?

"Maybe", you utter, looking over at Autumn where she sits and talks with Benjamin while keeping a check on the elf child. They're just talking about the holy order from what you can hear. However, what was this about her throwing glances at you? Didn't she hate you? Maybe she was just keeping a check on you, but why would Theresa think that it's something else then? "I don't know.", you eventually answer her honestly. You didn't and couldn't know at this point. You're not sure about your feelings towards her, if you even had any. You had no idea about her feelings towards you aside from her constantly reminding you that she hates you up till this point. Theresa shifts her attention between you and Autum for a short moment and before she jumps up from the bench, you catch a glimpse of a sad frown from her before she's smiling again. Eventually all would hopefully become clear to you.

"Now you've seen the gardens. Where do you want to go now?", Theresa shouts out to the others and to you.

Now it was, surprisingly enough, Benjamin's turn to announce his wish before you could press the urgency to meet the King and the Spirits; "I'd like to visit the Spiritual Library.", to which Theresa quickly agreed and Autumn and the elf child concurred without argument. You were left staring at Benjamin in disappointment, but he nervously avoided your gaze. He already knew you were staring, no point taking a look to confirm it.

The five of you journeyed through the city, the spirits from before still following you in the distance. You had a bad feeling about them, but causing a scene now, here, would only cause even more trouble. The library was located on the other side of the city as if they built the city after placing the key locations in their own very seperate sections of the city. The gates to the library was made out of oak and stood tall enough to tower over even the tallest of giants, which was impressive in itself. The stairs were of marble like much of the buildings and streets in this shining, hidden city. On each side of the foot of the stairs, there were two statues of proud lions standing in majestic silence. They were carved in gold with rubies for eyes. They appeared to be roaring from the looks of it, but being only statues, no sound came out.

The party of five entered the library through the oaken gates that was easy to push open with your strength. The inside was shaped oval, with two sets of stairs leading further up, twisting around each other and passing over and under each other on the way to the top.
>>
>>33587863

There were practically no walls, only shelves upon shelves of countless books filling the spaces. The roof itself was made out of coloured glass, reflecting all the colours of the rainbow down into the very bottom of the library. A marvelous sight and Benjamin agreed where he stood, mouth agape and stared at the wonders in front of him.

While Theresa sat down in the corner for some reason, the elf child ran off on her own and picked out a small book to read. Benjamin had collected himself and with light feet, rushed up the stairs and was looking for something before he saw it and pulled out a leather tomb. Autumn was casually going between the bottom shelves, looking at the titles of several different books before she continued her little walk.

>A. Join Autumn in her walk.

While you gave Benjamin time to look for what he was trying to find and read some, you decided to investigate what Theresa pointed out to you earlier; Autumns subtly glances towards you. She didn't have a problem before about keeping a careful eye on a dark being such as yourself, so why would she now try to hide it? You find your way to the templar and match her pace as the two of you walk around the bottom floor of the library. She doesn't notice you at first, but eventually she catches something grey in the corner of her eye and upon seeing you walking next to her, she stops abruptly and back into the nearest bookshelf, causing three books to fall to the floor.

"W-what are you d-doing?!", she's both surprised and judging from her tone, also a little bit upset and nervous. "Just walking.", you reply before you pick up the three books and push them back where they belong. Autumn takes a deep breath and straightens her back before she starts her walk again, "Well, you could have told me you were walking next to me.", another lecture from her, and a hollow one at that. You throw a glance over at Theresa where she is sitting in the corner, minding no one, before you turn back to Autumn. You're following her around the library till she stops and quickly turns towards you, "Why are you following me?"

"Have you been looking at me in secret?", you come out and ask without hesitations. You're an infamous Monster hunter, the bane of the Holy Order, the Dark being that's feared and somewhat respected throughout the realm and the last Inquisitor in the known world. You may be many things, but you're not a being of many words. "What?!", she screams out, and then lowers her voice when she notice that Theresa looked up towards the two of you. The elf and Benjamin is stil oblivious to your conversation, "Where did you get that from?"
>>
>>33588598

"Theresa.", no point in lying to this woman. She throws Theresa a poisonous look before returning her attention to you, "Yes, but only to keep an eye on you.", she defends herself. You tilt your head at her, "Then why did you try to hide it?"

She turns red at your words and looks away, grabbing a book and holds it upside down while pretending to read it and ignoring you. That is, until she finally looks over at you again, "Well...", she starts and her hands are slightly shaking, "Ever since I came along with you, you've been different than what I had expected of you..."

"Such as?", you're not sure where this is going, but you continue to press the matter anyway, "I, um, you saved me and Benjamin in Riverhill and you freed the child from slavery outside the mountain city; It's just that, you're not what the Order taught me you'd be like.", she's blushing, hard while she's fidgeting with the book in her hand that's still upside down.

>A. Nod at her and leave her to check up on Benjamin; He must have wanted to come here for a reason.
>B. "So you have feelings for me?"

Leaning closer from reasons beyond you, a whisper escaped you, "You're not what I imagined you'd be like either.", and she drops the book. Scrambling to pick it up in desperation, you can hear her heart beating faster than the others in the room. She places the book back in the shelf, sighs deeply and slowly turns to face you. She's not blushing anymore, on the contrary, she looks somewhat sad.

"I know I swore an oath when I choose to become a Templar, and I know Benjamin has always liked me ever since I came to serve at the Oaksberry church, but after seeing how noble you can be, I feel torn; when I'm with you, I--", she's about to say something that she must have mustered her courage to say from the fierce look in her eyes, but she's cut off by a shout from above, "I found it!", Benjamin calls out as he rushes down the stairs with an old leather bound book in his hands.

"Much like this city is covered in a bubble made out of illusion magic, so is the Imperial Capital and the Order's sanctuary at the heart of it engulfed in a protective bubble of light magic!", Benjamin firmly explains to Theresa and the elf girl for some reason, since you and Autumn already knew this, "However, what's not common knowledge is how the Valkyrie and chosen Justicars can seemingly teleport in and out from the sanctuary; The magical field makes it impossible to port out from the city and into the city from the outside.", he continued to explain.

"And your point is?", you ask him, a bit curious now. For the first time he looks tall and proud when he's speaking to you, "This book tells of a split key spell that enables it's user to break through the holy field of magic protecting the heart of the Imperium. And where has the key been written?"
>>
>>33589313

"On a holy scroll, kept in the Saint's library! You're a genius, Benjamin!", Autumn shouts and hugs him. He's stunned by the hug and his smile grews even wider. That's what Austec must have stolen from the library, or at least two of the three scrolls must be the key's to the city. Why else would the order see fit to send their Inquisitor after a single man if he didn't possess such dangerous information?

"if he has brought this information to the Aelvii Empire, the Imperium is in danger.", Benjamin continues, "We must return to warn them!", however, now you find the time to cut in, "I was tasked to hunt down Austec and judge him; I will not abandon that quest.", which grants you a disappointing look from Benjamin.

"Alright, I'll follow you to the Elvish king and the spirits to help you recieve access to the Aelvii, but then I need you to port me to the nearest town outside the capital!", Benjamin is on fire and you can see passion burning in his eyes. It's like he's finally grown up. You nod at him and leave the library behind with your party.

Which ones of the rulers will you call upon once you reach the palace though? They usually take care of these matters on their own instead of counseling their other part, so picking the right choice would be very beneficial.

Because of the elf girl, you decide that speaking with the Elvish kind would be a wise decision, despite the elves hatred for humans and especially the Holy Order. The palace is surprisingly close to the Spiritual library and after a short walk, you find yourself in front of the magnificent palace, rising up into the skies, putting all building nearby to shame and the pointy crown of the half ball formed roof of the palace was reaching heights higher than the Skytowers. The roof itself was white and the building supporting it was azure. Several marble beams were lined up around the building, leaving the entrance open. The stairs were the same as the ones at the library, but the gates were green and covered in small carved statues sticking out from it; Dragons danced out from the gate, fire spewing carved in green stone; elvish swords etched into stone that clashed with each other and at the top of the gate, a large gemstone of blue had been made into a crown that split when the gates opened.

After entering the palace, the guards held their spears at the ready, following your party slowly. You also caught the spirits that had been following you through the city, but they stopped short of the palace gates. Navigating through the palace proved to be difficult at first, but eventually you and your company stood before the door leading to the Elvish throne room. Benjamin was about to knock when the door opened by itself and you heard a soft, yet powerful voice echo from inside, "Come in, come in, no need to fear.", and so, you all entered the hall.

It wasn't what you had expected; Instead of all the banners, gemstones, tapestries and carpets along with the lords and nobility and the large thrones, this throne room was very different from the dwarf's;
>>
>>33590335
The room was oval, with two large baths on the left and right, and a small path leading up to a red boulder under a crocked tree that looked half dead, but it still held a sea of cherry blossoms. The two baths were filled with naked female elves bathing and they followed your party with alluring gazes as you made your way past them, towards the red boulder where a noticable figure sat with his back towards you. The figure had elven ears, long white hair that dripped down to touch the floor beneath the boulder and he wore a crown made out of oak and blue flames of magical origin dancing on top of the five short and small rising branches from the oak crown. He turned around when you arrived in front of the stone. He looked very young, like a man in his early 20's, but you could hear the slow beatings of his heart; he must be very old.

"What brings two 'holy' beings and a tainted dark being to the shared kingdom of elves and spirits?", his voice was the same from before, still being very mature compared to how he looked.

"I seek passage to the Aelvii.", informing him of your intentions, you brought the elf girl forth, "I freed her from the slave camps outside the Dwarven city.", you explain and the King raises his thick and white eyebrows at you.
>>
>>33590353
He carefully motions for the girl to come to him, which she eagerly obeys. "Has this...", he pauses as he looks down at her, shifting towards you suddenly, "...abomination...", his voice is dripping with poison before his attention returns to the child, "...hurt you?", and she quickly shakes her head, "Good.", is the last thing he says before he waves towards his guards. You hear a word spoken from behind and pain erupts throughout your body, sending you paralyzed to the ground on all four. You watch as Theresa is thrown out of the room and Autumn and Benjamin are forced up to the stone and down on their knees in front of the king.

"Inuisitor. Since you've been so kind and noble as to free and safeguard one of my own, I shall give you the chance to make a choice...", the king explains and you look up through the pain, watching as one elf puts a blade against Autumns throat and another against Benjamin's throat.

There's only silence between you. The only real sound in the background is the water in the two baths where the woman are sitting, staring at this situation as it unfolds. The pain is holding you down, forcing you to remain on all four on the wet floor. You can barely think because of it and the king repeates himself once more, "Make your choice now before I make it for you! Which one shall be granted life?", he's becoming impatient, even though he looks completely unfazed by everything around him. Try as you might, the pain has washed away all your strength. In the end, you look in defeat, uttering your answer,

"Autumn... lives.", and the next second after that you see a throat cut open and you hear a womans sad scream fill the hall before you black out from the immensive pain.

You open your eyes and spot a clear blue sky above. You're lying on your back in the dirt. Had it all been a nightmare? Looking about, you don't see anyone around you. You're alone in the middle of a black wasteland filled with mountains and ashes. You're in Aelvii. However, you don't care at the moment; You've indirectly killed a man that considered you one of his only friends and maybe at some times, you also considered him a close friend amongst enemies. You fall to your knees and rip off your mask. Your tired, far too tired to do anything, least of all the Order's dirty work at this point. Had you only been able to cry, you would have cried this pain away. Hours tick by as you continue to sit on your knees in defeat. What happened in that room? How did you lose all control? Where did that damnable pain come from? And most important of all, was Autumn still alive?
>>
>>33591256
In this darkest moment of your story so far, you hear the soothing voice of your humanity in the back of your head calling for you, "Rise.", it edges you on, "Rise." and for the first time in a long while, you refuse to listen. The voice shouts at you, with a voice you find familiar, "Rise!", and as a result, you rise up.

"Now, do what must be done. For the Realm and for the Holy Order.", the voice of your humanity continues. It has never spoken so long with you ever since you first heard it 8 years ago.

And so, you begin your slow, but steady, march north through the Aelvii Empire, towards the capital of Monsters and Dark Beings.

///

That's all for tonight, people. I know most of you are probably quite upset with me, but as I've said before, this is all part of the plot and I am fairly confident that in the end you will be satisfied with the results.

And if you want to give up on it this early because of what happened in this thread, I won't blame you, but I will still continue onwards with it. It will have it's dark moments, but rest assured that I never do it to punish you or torture you; only to make a good story with you guys.

Besides we don't know if he's actually going to kill them. Knowing fantasy elves they're probably gonna pull some dickery like "Now you have to live with the knowledge your friend picked her over you

Read above
Hes dead jim

>>33591293
Thanks for the support.

>>33591322
I'm sorry if you feel that way. Thank you for participating nonetheless.

>implying it's not some knife-ears illusion to confuse us.

please, anon, it's like you're not even trying.
>>
>>33591356
Have fun with one player
>>33591364
If it is that just makes it worse
>>
>>33591293
I'm just saying that he may not want to scare off some of his playerbase before it's properly established is all.
>>
>>33591468
>playerbase
there were 3-4 of us at most
I'm fairly certain thats down to one or two guys now, Thats not enough to call it a playerbase
>>
>>33591519
Exactly.
>>
>>33591468
>>33591519
>>33591544
Thanks for your concern, guys. However, I am perfectly fine with just writing for one or two person(s) if the rest don't want to continue. I won't hold it against them, but I stand by my decision.

Thank you for participating!
>>
>>33591584
>he stands by his decision
At least you die smiling I guesss
>>
I knew the loli choice would fuck things up in the long run. I am justified.
>>
>>33591633
I blame the bitch who wanted to study us for not warning us that it would be a bad idea even though she should know how bad it was
But we all know it was railroaded to this point, so its not like it matters

I actually just wanted to see how many people were here

>>33591869
I'm only here because I'm laughing at how the loli bit everyone in the ass.

More than two evidently.

How so?
Genuinely curious.

My only issue here is that this angst shit is way out of character, so far Ben has just been a nuisance who wouldn't leave us alone.
>>
>>33592081
Yeah, Ben was only sort of a friend, only because the inquisitor is basically a being of pure darkness now. I voted Autumn because I thought the inquisitor would favor might over friendship
>>
>>33591910
Cutie G lurker here, just wanted to watch the ship sink.

I don't know what to say. Fucking speechless. Ben is DEAD! My nigga is dead! How could you pick that bitch over a bro?! Jesus fuck!

>>33590665
I'm blaming you. FUUUUU!

>>33592081
The MC felt emotion several times though from what I remember. back in the forest, in riverhill, at the slave camps, when the loli rolled in the grass. as long as the angst shit doesn't go on, I can go with it.

>>33592139
you and everyone else, but I doubt it's dead.
>>
QM did nothing wrong.
>>
>>33592279
No, he did just about everything wrong
>>
>>33592279
It's true, I blame the players more than anything. All because they wanted their loli a few threads back for no real reason other than loli.
>>
>>33592390
I'm pretty sure the loli prevented both from being killed.

Also I now want to wage war against the knife ears.
>>
>>33593243
People might have gone to the Spirit Council instead. I would have voted that.
>>
>>33593274
Yeah, I probably would have went with spirits
