You wake up back at your Sanctuary after few hours of sleep.

You are the heir of Aaflyn bloodline, a young mage with affinity of flesh. The grimoire containing arcane secrets of your family hangs from your waist, looking at its surroundings with a satisfied grin.

The last few days have been busy. You were attacked by someone working for another mage you only know as ‘Doctor’, which forced you to leave the town and settle into the woods surrounding it, where you established a Sanctuary for yourself and your old friend Cecil who was their target. This morning you managed to find your assailant, stealing her purse and making her lose control of a car that crashed and landed her into a hospital.

Cecil hands you a cup of black coffee, still holding the staff you gave her in her hand and your grandfather’s wizard hat on her head. You find the sight comical as you take the coffee and down it, banishing sleepiness from your mind.

It’s already late afternoon; the sun is setting on the other side of your barriers as the red tinted light grows dimmer. Your familiars inform you that there hasn’t been any more movement at the facility and the woman is still in hospital. Apparently the crash broke her left arm and fractured some bones in various parts of her body.

You get up, beginning to formulate a plan for the evening.

[] Pay your ‘friend’ in the hospital a little visit.
[] Take a more in-depth look through the purse.
[] Get more familiars. (Where and what kind of?)
[] Prepare a spell. (Which?)
[] Read about…(What?)
[] Talk to Cecil, see how she’s doing.

[X] On mages and dogs.

You flip open the grimoire and read up on magical society.

It seems there isn’t a magical police that deals with situations like this, but the local communities usually band together to get rid of any trouble in the area. The highest authority on everything magical, the mages’ council, assembles once a decade to make any important decisions regarding the global community as well as work to resolve any conflicts between arcane bloodlines. You find the sheer lack of any rules beyond “don’t have significant effects in global population, keep magic away from the media and governments and don’t step on anyone’s toes unless you’re looking for a fight” baffling.

Still, the last assembly was six years ago and you should have a seat in the council inherited from gramps so if nothing else, you can bring the matter up there… in four years.

You put the book down, letting it fall back to its place by your hip and take your cellphone out of your pocket. A quick search finds you the numbers of local animal shelters and most of them do invite you over when you express the interest to adopt something.

[X] Getting ‘pets’

You check one last thing from the book; any possible information on friendly or allied mages. You find some names, though most of them are either crossed over and the remaining are from various parts of the world. Most of them are apparently circles of Rune casters and Alchemists your grandfather provided runes and mana to, listed as ‘vassals’. Unfortunately, no one thought of writing down a phone number so you don’t have a method of contacting them right now.

With that out of the way, you signal Cecil who walks over to you.

“Where do you get all this coffee?” You ask the question that has been on top of your mind for quite some time now.

She points to the shelter. It takes you a moment to realize that the back wall is absolutely covered in dark packets of pot coffee powder. You don’t remember getting THAT much of it.

“Okay.” You say dazed by the sheer amount of caffeine filled drink before napping out of it to get into the actual business you had. “Anyway, we’re going to animal shelter to get some animals.”

The girl nods and you walk out of the Sanctuary, towards the hiding place of your moped.

“So how do you feel, about the situation in general, about what I asked you yesterday? I managed to catch the woman who attacked us and she’s in hospital now.” That’s where she interrupts you.

“I want to see her.” She says, in considerably louder voice than her usual muttering and mumbling.

>cont.
>>
>>33589595

“Alright but first we’ll drop by some animal shelters for reinforcements. Wanna help me pick some out?”

She nods with more enthusiasm than usual.

You arrive at the first shelter where an employee tries to act cheerfully but the long day behind her is clearly visible on her face.

“Hi. You must be the guy who called just now. Looking for a pet for your girlfriend?”

“Sure. Why don’t you pick something out, dear?” A slight blush appears on Cecil’s face as she stumbles deeper into the building where the animals are being held.

While Cecil is busy with that, you make some small talk with the employee. You find out that they get a lot of animals that the students can’t take care of, this being a university town. You repeat the same with each of the four shelters you drop by, picking up an animal or two from each.

By the time you walk out of the last shelter you have a total of eight animals prepared, two cats, one black and another white; four large, mean looking mixed breed dogs and a black and white kitten Cecil took liking to. You can’t exactly ride with all these animals.

[] Go to a park and prepare bindings. (Specify bonds)
Harbinger for the cats, servant for the kitten, 1 Host in the dogs, 1 Harbinger, and the rest Servants.
That gives us the most ability to give orders, keeps them all independent, and doesn't interfere with their natural born instincts too much.
>>
>>33589630
Leave the choice as to what to do with the kitten to Cecil, harbringer dogs, cat servants.

Huh. Could we bind a bee hive into being familiars?

>>33589630
can we see if there is a way for cecil to bind a familiar to herself with the runes?
>>
>>33590327

[X] Fuck it, you can decide later.

You take the animals to a park that’s out of the way and begin preparing the circles. It takes you almost the whole night to get them all bound, with occasional breaks in between to make sure nobody accidentally stumbles in. By the sunrise you’ve got the dogs bound as [insert bond here] and the cats as [insert another bond here]. The kitten you left unbound to Cecil’s care.

[X] Breakfast, or is it lunch?

You order the familiars to scatter, making them hide in the small alleyways and eat the evidence of your recent casting.

Meanwhile, you take Cecil and walk to a gas station where you refuel your vehicle as Cecil picks up some sandwiches and coffee for the two of you to consume. You take a seat opposite of her and try to make some small talk.

“So, why do you want to see this woman so much?”

She thinks for a moment. “I want to talk.”

“Talk to her? About what?”

“Things…?” She offers, obviously not wanting to talk about it.

You read the newspaper a bit, finding out that the police have not made much progress with ‘The skinner’, a serial killer who strips flesh of his victims. He has stricken at least thrice in the last week; two times in some apartments downtown and once in a small neighborhood not away from the first scene where burned flesh was found. No victim has been identified or bodies found but both of the samples are presumed to be from a young man around the age of 19 to 23.

“Please give yourself in.” She deadpans.

You put the paper aside, switching to a more serious subject. “You spoke of ‘us’ so I assume there were others. What can you tell me about them?”

The girl’s expression darkens. “Not… much. A lot of people came and went… many not coming back after leaving.” She takes a deep breath. “They let me out because… I lasted the longest.”

“It’s okay. So, what are you planning to do afterwards? Once all this is over, I mean.”

“Hmm…” She mumbles as she thinks. “Sleep? I don’t know.”

It’s getting light outside. You could head to the hospital now, unless there’s something you want to do first.

Your thinking is too limited m8, we can make things happen with a bit of research, we're in no haste here. Can spend an hour or two looking through the book.
>>
>>33593408
None of the spells we know can do that, and bombing a hospital is a stupid plan when we know that one of the only rules for wizards is to not have magic be shown in the media.
Bad enough that we've attracted the attention of the police with our flesh-casting, but a bomb would be even worse.
Especially as it would be trivial to see where the explosion occurred and who was in the room.
>>
>>33593504
But we're not bombing the hospital, we're bombing her. And it'd not be an explosion, it'd be shrapnel of flesh.
>>
>>33593567
Not sure a purse-bomb would work, really. She's already seen who we are, and if we tried to return her purse, she'd be pretty suspicious.

Having it just turn up after being stolen by a murder of birds is also highly suspect.

>>33593610
Fair enough.

>>33593567
>But we're not bombing the hospital, we're bombing her
And where is she? At the hospital.
Do you plan on just leaving the purse lying around for her to find?
You think the police wouldn't question who returned the purse, when the purse then exploded and killed the woman?

Are you trying to get us caught by the police or do you just not see the consequences of our actions?

[X] Hugs and hospitals.

You move to Cecil’s side of the table and pull her close. “Don’t worry, we’ll handle this.” She leans on you for a moment before you get up and head to the moped. You check the ID one last time:

Name: Mariana Jones
Age: 33
Sex: F

When you arrive to the hospital it’s a bit over 10am and visiting hours have just begun. You walk through the corridors, noting that there’s one camera on each one. You find the room you’re been looking for easily and just as you approach it a nurse steps out.

The rooms on this floor seem to be a single patient per room and a quick peek into one reveals that there’s no security in the rooms themselves. The room next to your target’s is also empty but not locked.

>How do you approach this?

Suggestion requires an hour to cast.

Bail. Abort this entire thing.
We're on camera now, and using the Submission spell will leave flesh residue, meaning that the police will be able to make the connection between us entering the room and flesh being there afterwards.
The video evidence from the cameras would be probable cause enough for a warrant.
>>
>>33594016
This.
But then what'd they Warrant on? They've already sealed off our place, and probably Ciel-Senpai's as well.
>>
>>33594016
shit dude has a point, though I'm not sure we should bail, maybe we should bring our familiars to the window (assuming we are on the bottom floor) and threaten her with them to give us the information
>>
>>33594016
thats a good idea actually
>>
>>33594093
They see us enter a room, that was clear when the last nurse left.
Then the video shows us leaving.
When the next nurse arrives, there's flesh and blood everywhere.

That's probable cause, enough circumstantial evidence to arrest us.
>>
>>33594093
Well, the flesh we would summon up to subdue her would be genetically the same as the flesh at previous crime scenes. They'd peg us as the Skinner, and would have us on camera, presumably with our future-victim.

We'd get a warrant damned quick.
>>
So bailing seems to be the consesus.
Writing...
>>
>>33594166
We also have to lay low because if the Council gets wind of this, we are right fucked for letting this hit the mundane news.
>>
If we're going to question this woman, then it needs to be done properly.
We need to get her to a place where we can cast Submission without the police finding the flesh.
We need to get her there without the police seeing us.
We need to do this in this modern, near-panopticon society where if there's even the slightest bit of struggle and there's a witness, it's going to get uploaded to Youtube and Facebook.

We need to do this smart, accounting for all of the handicaps we have because of our affinity.
>>
>>33594291
Eh, they just think it's an unhinged serial killer.
You know, nothing out of the ordinary.
>>
>>33594369
There's one fire mage out there that knows we've got the flesh affinity, and as soon as we Awaken, there's this story about a serial killer with all of this flesh being left around.
I don't think he's stupid enough to not connect the dots.
>>
>>33594420
Yes and?
Why would he bother to do anything?
>>
>>33594420
At the moment, it's just a serial killer doing serial killer things.

But if we get caught doing magic on camera, we'll have a real problem.

You poke Cecil on the shoulder. “We’re leaving.” She gives you a questioning look and hesitates before following.

>>
>>33594784
Ah, I think you're right. Forgot about that.

You retreat into the hospital yard and take a seat on a bench.

You quickly flip your grimoire open and check to see if it has any tips on disposing of the remains of your spells. There you read of a flame mage who accidentally burned down major cities, of a cold mage who caused land to be covered in eternal ice, of a blood mage who made rivers run red, of a magma mage who covered whole islands in ash and rock by accident, of a mage of insects who caused crops to die from nearby villages and of a water mage who drowned a whole continent without intending to. There is no answer to your question.

You opt to possessing your crow host and seeing if you could enter through a window. Closing your eyes, you focus on the link between you and the familiar. Mana flows through the link…

You are now a crow, sitting on a window sill by the room of the woman you are going after. The woman is reading a magazine, there’s a wheelchair in the room. The window is closed.

>What do you do?

[] Have Cecil move in and open the window so you can slip in.
[] Try to open the window as the crow.
[] (Write-in)
>>
>>33595419
What is required for the Highjack spell?
An item of the target, right?
What's the range on it?

If it's fairly long, then we should just retreat to somewhere where we can easily dispose of the flesh residue, and take a day to Highjack the woman, have Cecil go in and put her into a wheelchair, and allow us to take the woman to a place with no cameras where we can then cast Submission on her and interrogate her.
Then bind her as a familiar because she can't disappear; Cecil would be on-camera as the last person with her and would become a prime suspect.
>>
>>33595419
>[X] Have Cecil move in and open the window so you can slip in.
We should also consider having an alternate route, just in case she can't open the window.

Have the crows look around. Are there any alternate points of entry?
>>
>>33595602
The range of it is very short, requiring the target within the same general area.
>>
>>33595807
Like, within 10 feet short?
>>
>>33595844
That sounds about right.
>>
>>33595419
[x] (Write-in)
Have Cecil and the crows look for a secluded spot where we can cast Submission and get rid of the flesh.

Will Submission allow us to order the woman to forget that she was questioned?
>>
I'll make something from what we've got now. Probably writing just a couple more updates as people seem to have disappeared again.

>>33596138
I think part of it is that people are only now realizing that they did not think any of their plans through, and that they're mostly bad.
>>
Can we make like, flesh disguises? Or is all the flesh we make just really raw and ropey? Because an Iron Man suit with tentacle arms should be fine, right?
>>
>>33596302
No such spell currently known, nor hinted to in any of the currently known spells.
We'd have to spend time to research the grimoire to see if there's anything like that.
It will likely involved a combination of spells, runes, and alchemy to create a construct.
>>
>>33596138

[X] Entrance.

Cecil opens the door to the room while some of your servants look around for a secluded location to cast.

“You…” The woman begins just to be interrupted by Cecil, who rushes over with impressive agility and lies your knife on her throat. “Quiet.” She mutters to the woman with a mad glint in her eye.

“Wh-what…” The woman panics and Cecil strikes her face with the handle, drawing blood. “QU-I-ET.” The woman’s face goes white as blood escapes from it. The girl moves to open the window before mounting the woman, once again putting the knife at her throat and you step in through it. Some blood drips from the woman’s neck.

>What do you want to do?

[] Cast ‘Submission’ here, take her out of the room and interrogate her somewhere a bit more out of the way.
[] Have Cecil drag the woman out of the room somewhere where you can cast ‘Submission’ without worrying.
[] Have Cecil interrogate her here.
[] Have Cecil push the woman out of the window.
[] Tell Cecil to calm down.
[] (Write-in)
>>

>[x] Have Cecil yell, "Where's Scarecrow!?"
>>
>>33596434
Have Cecil calm down, and interrogate her here
I doubt we can get her out of the hospital without attracting attention
>>
>>33596434
Really should have seen this coming, what with how Cecil was acting.
Also, this is the third floor; pushing the woman out the window is ill-advised.
Not to mention, Cecil DID get caught on the cameras, so we need to make sure that the woman forgets any of this happened.

[x] (Write-in)
Use Conjure Flesh to close the woman's mouth.
Then tell Cecil to calm down and get the woman into the wheelchair. Then use Conjure Flesh to subtly bind her to the wheelchair.
Use a blanket to hide the flesh restraints.
Then have Cecil bring the woman out to somewhere secluded where cleanup will be easier, and then cast Submission and begin interrogation.

Make sure that Cecil is careful to not get caught by the nurses; they will probably know not to let this person out of her room.
>>
>>33596563
Seconding this, Cecil's got this
>>
>>33596434
We have a staff/ wand, so cast submission as a light based spell instead of with flesh so we don't leave a trail
>>
>>33596706
little late for that
>>
Leaving the interrogation to Cecil seems to be winning. Writing...
>>
>>33596706
We would need to find the correct runic formula for the spell, assuming that we even have the right rune cylinders for it, and that it's even a spell that can be cast using runes.

>Various rune cylinders. (2xForce, 2xStrength, 1xFlame, 1xWater, 3xDeath, 4xLife, 3xPower)
>>
>>33596819
This is going to go badly, what with how unstable Cecil is acting.
If she kills the woman, then we're fucked because her face is on the video cameras, and her fingerprints on the window.
>>
>>33596819

[X] That’s gotta hurt…

You take flight but end up falling on the floor. Not that anyone notices it; the ladies are too busy with each other. After a couple of tries you manage it, landing on Cecil’s shoulder. She turns to look at you and you barely manage to keep your balance. There was always something unsettling about her eyes but now you don’t even want to be in their general direction. With a soft “kaw” you try to calm her down. She takes a deep breath and nods. “I can’t kill her yet… not yet…” Her voice is shaky.

“Now, I w-will ask questions a-and you’ll answer them.” Her voice shakes with excitement. The woman tries to inch away from her, only resulting in more blood seeping from her throat.

“Now… H-how many of you are there?”

“Tw-twelve.” The girl sinks the knife into her leg as Cecil covers the woman’s mouth with a piece of cloth, silencing her screams.

“Is that so?” The woman nods. “Good.” Cecil pulls the knife out of the wound.

>cont.

>>33597379

“Wh-what can you tell me about th-the doctor?” The woman doesn’t answer, too busy whimpering in pain. “I ASKED YOU A QUESTION!” Another blow hits the woman’s face. You hope nobody heard that.

“He does it for money.” The knife slides across her face as Cecil’s grin grows wider. “Money.” The knife sinks into her broken arm. “More.” You’re beginning to feel sick.

“H-he teaches us and in exchange we do what he says.” Cecil licks the knife before slicing the woman’s shoulder. You see the blanket grow wet. “More.” You avert your eyes from them.

“H-he specializes in plants, vines to be specific.” You hear muffled cries.

>Now…

first cast a spell on the door so noone pays attention to it and the nurses/doctors just walk on by
when cecil is done, cast submission on her so that she starts acting like a maniac, screaming and shit, in a few hours and runs out the door and stabs the first person they see in the leg and then kills herself

this is the only way we can get cecil out of here without suspicion, it would make her look like she stabbed herself for all the cuts, and it might make people think she was the "serial killer"
>>
>>33597517
that sounds pretty serial killer logic, so lets go with this, also make her reopen the cuts before she runs out screaming, so they look fresh

>>
>>33597756
I've got to get to bed, work in the morning and all. You're doing good with the quest, keep it up, and I hope we can both stabilize and comfort Cecil, preferably through emotional bonding or familiar bonding, or both.

Also, we really need to get to work on the political situation in town, at least two other mages we know of in the area (how many bloodlines are there? Crowded meetings eh?) and start working on flesh constructs to supplement our familiars.

Crimson conquers all.
>>
>>33597756

[X] Covering tracks.

You begin preparing a submission as Cecil keeps doing her thing. “W-where’s the doctor?”

“…At the facility…” The woman whimpers.

Having run out of questions, she keeps slicing the woman until your spell is ready. The woman’s eyes are already hollow by the time you finish and get Cecil’s attention with a “Kaw”.

“Hmm? Ah, thanks. I always knew I could trust you.” She smiles happily and kisses you on the head, the loose collar of her white T-shirt now stained with red giving you a look under it.

She waltzes out of the room, putting the knife back into her pocket as you stop possessing the crow…

You open your eyes, cold sweat covering your head. “Are you alright?” A passing nurse asks you.

“I’m fine.” You mumble as you head to the entrance, where Cecil gives you a kiss on the cheek as you put your coat on her to cover the evidence.

So she's definitely done so before.

>>
We're certainly taking Cecil going all murdery rather blithely.

She's not only all murdery, she's also showing more sex appeal.
>>
>>33598615
Sexy murdery appeal
>>
>>33598108
Cecil's behavior is problematic. She's showing signs of actually being a sadistic serial killer. She's more talkative and more emotionally active right after a kill. She might only have a problem with killing the people she did because she didn't have control when she did it, not out of any horror at the killings themselves.
She's likely to kill that old friend we coerced into setting up our electricity. Guess she was right to be afraid that she would become the victim of a serial killer.

And we're probably going to end up enabling Cecil, too. We're just as bad as the Doctor.
>>
>>33602492
We should ask Cecil when we're in our Sanctuary "Do you like hurting people?" And "Did you enjoy killing others?"
>>
>>33598079
We will double check on the woman and make sure that our cover up went off correctly without a hitch. This is required.

>>33598124
>>33598190
>>33598441
>>33598541
Keep in mind, we don't know how long this has been going on. Cecil could just be feeling like she's finally removed the one thing ruining her entire life, with our help. If this had been going on since the accident with her folks, she's going to be emotionally stunted and acting more like a victorious child who just slew a monster under her bed. As to our reaction, this woman was clearly fine using other people as tools to commit murder for personal gain.

>>33598615
>>33599615
Means she's opening up at least a little bit, or at least more conscious of it. Real test will be to see if she goes back to the shirt and panties routine when we get to the sanctuary.

>>33602492
>>33602611
We'll make sure she doesn't slip, killing is only for enemies that leave us no other options. This makes me want to bind her as a 'familiar' all the more, both for the emotional connection so we can help her out, and for the small bit of control so we can make sure she doesn't go stab happy.
Though if it turns out she just has a thing for knives and blood, well, there are worse places for a girl like that to be than a fleshy, ready to bleed forest.
And she picked out a little kitten, we should keep a close eye on that. If she's kind and caring, then there is a good amount of hope. If we catch her wearing a kitten skin hat, then well.. time to take drastic measures.
>>
So when is Cecil going to ask us to make her go all fleshmaiden?
I approve, though we should really have her bound to us before we do something so drastic, even with her blessing.
>>
>>33602809
We should have demanded the PIN to Mariana's bank card before we killed her.
And as for the coverup, Cecil kept the knife so I don't think the coverup happened, or is going to work.
>>
>>33603325
Really hoping that we left a familiar behind to keep track of things then, and intervene to remove the woman if things go bad.
Though I am still tempted to bind her to our will, if only for her usefulness and to give Cecil an (sexy) outlet.
>>
>>33603582
I'm not sure that we want to encourage Cecil's slasher streak. While the apparent affection is nice, I hope it's because we helped her get closure and trust, not because we bring the bloodshed.
>>
>>33604134
Not to mention, Cecil still got her face on a security camera feed, and odds are good that the police will investigate everyone who entered Mariana's room before she died.
>>
>>33604212
I hadn't thought of that, crapit. Well with luck we can pull it off as Cecil visiting her shrink to see if their appointments would continue, then getting weirded out by her and leaving.
Ideally we can keep the cops off of our trail and out of our hair... but I sense that we're going to have to use some magical suggestion on a few officers/detective to be sure of things.
>>
>>33605255
>magical suggestion
Remember that it takes 15-20 minutes to cast Suggestion, 1 hour to cast Submission.
And it leaves behind obvious residue.

It may simply be unfeasible to do any of that.
>>
>>33605353
Still thinking we can put it into runes to prep it up, and while residue is left behind, cops and detectives go into strange places and alleyways all the time.

And nobody questions a crow following them around, assuming they notice in the first place.
We need more practice in crow bodies.
>>
>>33605388
Well, our crow can't use the rod; that thing is two meters in length and made of metal.

We need to see what spells can and can't be cast with runes.
Like, the Binding and Hide spells required making circles in order for them to be cast. I don't think that can be done with a staff and runes.
>>
Next time we're doing magical research/practice at the sanctuary, we should see about putting some calling traps down, set to trigger on anyone not us or let in by us.

Cecil might be shaping up to be a monster, but as long as she's our monster and we keep her on a happy leash, it's okay.
>>
>>33606085
That leash is going to have to be very tight. We also have to be careful she doesn't try to hurt or kill our physics friend who is going to install our electricity; she'll try to rationalize it as protecting us.
Since the girl is smart and already suspects we will kill her as soon as her usefulness is over, she probably set up information packages to be mailed to the police on dead man switches.
>>
>>33606219
We'll have to talk it over with her, and note, this all gets much much easier and safer if Cecil agrees to be familiar bonded to us.
As to Elisa, we'll ask her if she's alright getting a minor memory wipe, just for our protection? Failing that, if we can figure out how to stealth bond a familiar then I would heavily suggest it for her, just for the good feelings and such towards us so she's less likely to spill the beans, on her own or under pressure.

That's talking about binding and forcing Elisa to keep Cecil company.
Elisa, the college physics student who we told that there would be consequences if she talked to anyone about what she saw in the woods.

>>33609370
People want to bind her and make her into a 'sister' for Cecil. A number of players aren't sure we can trust her not to talk or have our secrets divulged if someone leans on her or casts Submission.

Which begs the question, why did we bring her in when she's a potential security breach, instead of getting a couple of Time-life's Home Improvement books and DIY Youtube videos?
>>
Your body feels heavy as you lie on the fleshy ground of your Sanctuary, its rhythmic heaving matching your heartbeat and the gentle flow of mana calming you down. You haven’t gotten much sleep, your thoughts going back to what happened earlier whenever you closed your eyes. Cecil is currently clinging to your right arm and sleeping soundly still dressed in the bloody t-shirt. You suppose you should do something about that sooner or later.

After the incident at the hospital you rode back to the Sanctuary, though you don’t have much recollection of what happened between now and then. The two of you ate… something, you lied down and Cecil followed you, having abandoned the cargo pants in the shelter.

You don’t really know what to think. You killed a person after Cecil tortured her for over an hour. Sure, she had it coming but… You need to stop thinking about this.

[x] Study. You need something else to think about.
We need to know: can we use runes and a rod to cast Submission without leaving a flesh residue? Will that get around the 1 hour preparation time, or do we still need an hour to create the circle? Can the circle be created ahead of time and the target later lured into it?
Will Submission let us force a target to forget certain events?

Can Fire, Death, or Acid spells be used to get rid of our fleshy residue, and what are the runes necessary to cast those affinity spells?
>>
>>33609597
>>33609612
We need more spells, not get better at the ones we have. The ones we have still result in large amounts of leftover flesh and blood which we still can't get rid of.

We should be questioning WHY Cecil lasted as long as she has as a magically controlled killer.
The other subjects did not, but she has.
Maybe because she was going to become a serial killer anyway is why her mind hasn't broken under being forced to kill people.
Her hating it was only because she wasn't the one in control when she killed.

I mean, did anyone else notice just how emotionally expressive Cecil was after killing Mariana after an hour of torturing her?
>>
>>33610066
Yes. Hence the worry, need to talk, and my want to bind her for both a measure of possible control and giving her emotional stability via us in the link.
>>
Wait when did Cecil kill Mariana?
>>
>>33610278
It depends on if Mariana bled out before we could order her to commit suicide, I suppose.
There were a LOT of knife wounds, and a lot of bleeding.
>>
>>33609992

[X] Experimentation seems like a happy medium.

You need to do something to occupy your mind and maybe get some mana into your body. You carefully detach yourself from Cecil’s grip and get to work.

You conjure a blob of flesh and carefully cut it open with the knife. It bleeds as its insides get revealed. You inspect the small blood vessels that run through it, its composition, how it reacts to your mana and you do find some interesting things.

The first thing you notice is that while the conjured substance remains solid within the Sanctuary, outside it slowly erodes into almost mush like substance. Pouring more mana into this causes it to come back to life, becoming more solid and continuing to beat. Pouring newly conjured flesh onto another piece makes them melt together into a larger blob.

The second thing you learn is that you have some control over the structure of conjured flesh. You can make the blood vessels larger but fewer or smaller but more numerous. There seems to be a certain ratio of meat and blood in the flesh you conjure but you don’t have the equipment to measure this accurately.

The third thing you learn, after some practice making the flesh whip, is that you can make a small hollow to fit mana into which allows you some clumsy control over it by restoring parts of it. This does take quite a bit of precision so you need to have some active mana already to manage it.

[Level up! Whip of flesh: minor control]

>cont.
>>
>>33610489

It may be because of all the mana you used but you’re feeling better already. Returning to the heart of your Sanctuary, you notice Cecil already up and the sun is starting to rise. You stayed up almost the whole night.

[X] Talks

As you approach the girl, she is pouring coffee into a cup which she hands to you as soon as you take a seat next to her. The expression on her face is slightly more stoic and controlled than the last time you saw her, though there’s still a faint smile on her lips. “Morning.” She whispers while pushing herself closer to you.

“Good morning. Do you have an answer for what I asked you the other day?”

She gives you a nod, accompanied by an enthusiastic “Umh”.

“That’s good. Now, we need to talk about yesterday. I want to know how you felt, how you acted, how you feel now. Do you mind telling me?” You make sure to keep your voice firm yet gentle.

She shakes her head before locking her eyes with yours, the remains of mana from your recent casting helping you to not flinch. “She had it coming. All the suffering… all the pain she caused…” Her smile grows into a grin. “It all came back. She had to suffer.” She leans on you. “You helped. You kept me safe. You gave me the chance…” The girl closes in on your ear, practically breathing into it. “Thank you.” She licks some of the fleshy mush you didn’t notice you had on you from your cheek. She’s breathing into your ear, excited.

Binding first, then we can feel out her emotions and be sure of things before we commit to anything, be it dragging our feet or giving her what she wants/needs.

>>33611459
Look at this from Cecil's point of view.
Her parents die, we leave her life for the most part.
her life starts to suck hardcore, with her being turned into a murder tool.
out of nowhere we come back into her life and all of the sudden, freedom, revenge, safety, companionship, all springing from us.

we are her jesus, and we had best use that if we want to help her or keep her under control.
>>

[x] kiss her
[x] say something

Is killing and hurting people going to be a thing now? Does she like the sight and smell of blood?
If it's just against the Doctor, I can understand it. But next time I want Cecil to give us a chance to bind the Doctor's apprentices as Servants; it will mean a steady source of income and getting others to do stuff so the police aren't always following us.

[X] Make a contract with me.

“Is this going to be a thing now? The whole cutting people up thing, I mean.” You barely manage to keep your voice relatively neutral

“They have to pay.” She whispers to your ear.

You turn your face towards her to give her a quick kiss on the lips. She comes on to you with all her weigh, her arms wrapping around your body with surprising strength and her tongue awkwardly trying to part your lips. You interrupt this by raising a finger to your lips. “Shall we get the binding done first?”

You disinfect the knife again and begin your work as Cecil keeps eyeing you, blushing. You ignore the occasional wet sounds and sighs she lets out. As you request something from her body, expecting a hair or something similar, she bites into her left ring finger and hands you its tip up almost up to the first joint.

You finish the circle, the bloody chunk in the middle and the girl with a tied up finger in the side, and feel the familiar tug in your mana, this time slightly stronger than before, as you activate it.

>Now you…

Holy shit man, shlicking herself to us and biting off the tip of her finger....
She is in love with our carnage.
We had better make damn sure she's tightly bound to us and our intent, no running off doing things 'because we'd want her to' and such.

I would say Harbinger given those options... but Servant emotional connection might be more useful.
And Hive because, well, if she's like this we can bind the others under the Doctor like this to her and let her have her revenge while keeping them for our use.

A mix would be best, this bears much future experimentation and research, but for now...
>Harbinger
>>
>>33612759
[] Bind her as an Extension.

Then immediately look through the grumpier on healing spells and how to reattach a finger.

And admonish Cecil for hurting her body like that. Distinguishing marks like that make it harder for her to do stuff for us.
If she behaves then we can downgrade to Servant.

But with that, Host, definitely Host, and I agree that we need to research more about familiar bonds, because merging some of these would be very very very useful with Cecil.
>>
>>33612759
>[] Bind her as a Harbringer; it gives you more control over her.
We need to be able to control her
>>
>>33613038
Only Host and Extension allow for remote control.
The difference is that's be is independent and the other dependent (Cecil can't sneak off and do something regrettable when we're asleep), and Host requires us to not move our body, while Extension lets us move as well and do it at will instantly.

Remember that we can always change these later if Cecil proves she can be trusted.
>>
>>33613197
God dammit, actually read what Harbinger does, it doesn't give us control over Cecil's body, it only gives us an empathic link which is just a warning that she's going to do something stupid.

For actual control we need Host or Extension.
>>
>>33613276
>>33613186
With that in mind..
Harbinger instead of Host.
Emotional link, she can't run off while we're asleep, and we would have a small bit of control to stop her if she tried to do something we don't approve of.
Worth chaning later on of course, once she's been "fixed" to our standards I see Hive on the horizon, using the Doctors serial killers.

>>33613343
Harbinger gives us a little bit of control, enough to trip her up or make her flinch and pull a strike.
>>
Explanation time:
Harbringer gives you little control over the familiar. Examples of these are making it turn its eyes or head or talking through its mouth. The familiar can resist these.
Extension is full on bodyjacking which gives you 100% control over the familiars body though it lacks emphatic link and has just non-verbal communications.
Host gives you the same benefit as Extension, only temporarily and you lose control of yourself but can use magic while possessing.
>>
>>33613343
Harbinger is still superior we need to know what she is thinking we don't need to wear her skin to control her.
>>
>>33613426
Easy solution then.
>Harbinger
AND
>2-3 hours worth of Suggestion to make sure she doesn't do things without us/our express approval or fly off the handle.

This way we get in her head to figure her out and start making her balanced and healthy, while getting to know her more, and keeping her on a firm but gentle leash.
Though at this point I'm not sure she wants the gentle bit.

[X] My little Harbringer.

You instantly begin drawing more circles, a larger one with your own and a smaller one with Cecil’s. Slightly annoyed you get some blood from her bleeding finger on a saucer after failing to draw with the finger as she rubbed her body against yours, causing you to botch the circle twice. You connect these circles with three lines; arc from one circle’s the center of the circumference with your blood and another with hers. In the center you draw an even smaller circle with a mixture of both of your bloods, connected to the centers with a line. Then you draw symbols along the lines and pour mana into the spell.

Once again the creation comes to life, wrapping the two of you in fleshy tentacles. You think you hear a moan from somewhere as you feel the link between the two of you widening. A flood of emotions and feelings rush through it, not even your mana-enhanced mind having enough time to analyze them all. As the time the spell melts, you fall on the ground sweating and breathing deeply. At the corner of your eye, you see Cecil doing the same, though you’re pretty sure her eyes are almost at the back of her head, her mouth is open, droll dripping from its corner and there’s something mixed in with the blood… Well, at least she’s happy.

>Cont.

[X] I intended to save this for end of the thread thing.

You call Cecil over. As she approaches you, you give her a deep kiss which makes her stiffen up for a moment but she soon relaxes before jumping on you with all her weigh, making you fall on the ground as she hungrily devours your lips…

---

You are lying on the soft ground with still unconscious Cecil still on top of you. Both of you are covered in blood with the bloody knife on the ground and you hurt all over. You have no idea of how long that took or how many years of your life it shaved off but the sun is already high in the sky and the finger is not bleeding anymore, at least from the same wound. Turns out you can do that by pouring a bit of your mana into them.

We need to go back and look up anything else on constructs. Some to guard, some to serve, some to help make the sanctuary better, last time we looked all we got was

>You put the staff back down while opening the book to do some reading on constructs.

>Constructs are created through Alchemy and Enchantments to serve specific purposes. Examples of such would be enchanting an eyeball to give show image on a reflective surface, much like a camera, or making statues that lift things.
>Some more complicated constructs can be bound with a familiar bond instead of enchantment or even added directly on a subject body.

>There are blueprints of various types of creatures and tools but you aren’t sure if you have the fine control, hand-to-eye coordination and the materials to pull most of them.

And we've gotten a bit better since then, also, given our dreams, I think that it's a good direction to focus on.

Plus, things to take care of the place and Cecil while we deal with job/school/family/police things before we decide if we're going to live a masquerade once the Doctor is dealt with, or go full hermit within our sanctuary.

[X] On healing.

You open the book which licks its lips and gives you a wink with its sole eye before opening at a page of that explains healing.

Turns out that there are no real devoted healing spells but rather it consists of clever applications of other spells. Much like ‘pure’, it’s a label stuck on spells that have certain property, in this case that being their ability to cure and heal.

>Restore, 2nd circle: Used to make objects more like when they were created. Used on people it recovers small wounds and cuts.
>Renovate, 3rd circle: Slightly improves an object, making it work slightly better. Used on a person it can recover broken bones through a painful process.
>Fix, 3rd circle: Removes imperfections from an object. Should be used on people with caution.
>Improve, 4th circle: Makes an object better at selected thing. Used on a person with ‘healing’ it improves their natural healing.

There are also multiple ways to replace or change parts of one’s body through alchemy along with a notice to be really careful about how you put things together and where, as separating living things alchemically can be extremely painful and is generally not recommended.

>Cont.
>>
>>33616505

As you begin to close the book, you notice a page of men and women mixed with various… things to make them serve certain purposes better. You’d need some practice with a dead body before trying anything on a human. You close the grimoire and it gives you a knowing look before you let go of it and check your cellphone.

This means that we can't use our cellphone or mobile wifi unit anymore.
The fact that we didn't clean up after the Submission spell left it's residue, we were caught on camera entering the hospital, then Cecil entering Mariana's room and leaving an hour later covered in blood (and possibly caught on video putting her knife away), and the police are going to have a ridiculously easy time convincing a judge to issue a warrant for our arrest and subpoena our cellphone carrier and mobile wifi carrier for our last cellphone location.

Elisa, frightened physics girl with electrical knowledge.
Dan, scummy drug guy we havent talked with yet.
Land lord, upset at us for the apartment
Teachers/Employer, currently on sick leave from them.
Cops, at least 2, suspicious as fuck, possible warrant out for our/Cecil arrest and worse
Fire Mage, not the best talker, unknown factor and location
'Doctor' Vine/plant mage, 11-12 minions, assassination ring using mind controlled subjects like Cecil. Supposedly based out of a facility that we're currently watching with crows.

I miss anything?

There's the moped, with an unknown amount of gas in the tank.
We also got a mobile wifi unit.

Is that $225 cash including the $200 that was in Mariana's purse?
We should be wary of the cash, ID card and purse in case the Doctor set them to be traceable.
>>
>>33617793
Moped and unknown gas, wifi unit, right.
And yea that's including the 200 that we got from her purse.

Things have consequences. Everything has consequences, hell i had you spend the 2nd thread taking care of the roof you blew up by jokingly drinking a bottle of tears and where has that led you? Did you not do that you would be in a very different place now.
I don't take this always completely seriously, i write a silly story about a guy who spews meat from his fingertips but that doesn't mean that the universe functions on the rules of comedy.
You can fuck up and fall HARD but at the same time you can climb back up. You have infinite possibilities but that doesn't mean all the end results are what you wanted.

I am amused that all our dreams involve us playing life like it's a real time strategy game effectively, throwing meat moss and minions around. I like it.

>Dreams
You stand surrounded by chunks of pulsating flesh with a grin on your face. More of the pink mass gushes from your fingertips as yet another pleasant wave of mana runs through your body.
It shifts; mouths and eyes opening on its surface as it consumes everything in its way.
You laugh as you watch your creation cover the world.

Then you wake up.
-
[X] The Future.

You are walking through a corridor. With every step you change a little, your comfortable jacket grows longer forming a robe, to your hand forms a metal staff with a large blob of flesh with an eyeball looking around in it on the rod’s tip, the book at your hip grows thinker and a small beard begins forming on your chin.

You step out of the tunnel to find yourself on the roof of a high building.

To your right you see a city covered in flesh, abominations running on the streets and soldiers desperately try to shoot them just to have their bullets bounce back. There you sit on a throne of pulsating flesh, looking down on the unfolding events.

To your left you see a sunken city overtaken by plant life. You see yourself walk the streets with an ever-growing crowd following you, the flora being replaced by blood vessels that push the building out of the ground.

Directly in front of you is a long path leading to a spiraling tower of flesh that reaches the clouds.

You turn around and see a field with numerous paths and destinations, each with a slightly different version of yourself surrounded by different scenery. Some are alone, others surrounded by large crowds of various creatures.

You see something approach in the distance, coming closer and closer with every passing second.

Just it comes close enough for you to recognize it, you wake up.

With all that SRS BSNS shit that was going on, I don't think that people take you seriously, or that consequences are serious at all.
>>
>>33617922
Welp, sounds like we should look into being able to sculpt our own flesh and appearance.
>>
>>33617922
>Things have consequences.
With all of the votes to basically ignore Cecil's missing 1/3 of a finger, I don't think many of the players here understand that.
Or going after Mariana again even after we realized that any attempt to go into her room would get caught on camera or that we needed to clean up the flesh left after we cast Submission in that hospital room, let alone all of the blood on Cecil's clothes as she walked out of a populated hospital.
>>
>>33617955
Making that true would involve fighting against the Council.
Considering that some of them are powerful enough to have Sanctuaries that cover entire cities, that's going to be a dicey proposition.
And, just like an RTS with an RPS mechanic, a Death Affinity mage would utterly fuck us over.
>>
So I'm curious.. How much effect do you think we've had on Cecil?
I mean she answered the door the first time we saw her in years in just a t-shirt and panties, offered us room in her home, froze up when we asked about the future, and told us she was lonely.
Went from being horrified/disgusted at our fleshy magic to apparently fetishizing it to a obscene degree within a few days.
Agreed to be bound to us, and we've become her savior of sorts. Really should feel around in her emotions to get a handle on her.

Either way though, I'm happy with her current state, though I'd like to fix her finger. Crazy devoted girls are awesome as long as you can have control over them so they don't go overboard/make things worse accidentally.
>>
>>33618143
Ehh.. we could just go pick a little island nation that nobody cares about and sanctuary it up. They wouldn't mind that I think.
>>
>>33618143
This makes me all the more curious and worried about what got Grandpa.
And Mom, and possibly Cecil's family, because I severely doubt it was an accident now.
We need to look up the fire mage, somehow...
>>
>>33618201
A little island that no one else is on would be fine.
The problem is our dreams want us to take on the militaries of the world.
And while we could probably take them on until they start using drones and nukes, the Wizard Council would be unimaginably pissed, and that Wizard SWAT Team would be coming for us.

>>33618224
>We need to look up the fire mage, somehow...
That's going to be difficult since we're a wanted man, now. We'll also have to cut ties with Elisa, so no electrical wiring for us.
And it'll be safer for Dad and our sister if we give them one last call from somewhere other than our Sanctuary and then burn the phone, since it'll be traced and our location pinpointed.

We'll also need to check the statute of limitations on murders, and see how long we'll need to evade the police until we'll be legally clear again.
>>
>>33618178
I agree that we've had an incredible influence and effect on Cecil.
Not all for the best, mind you, and we're kind of failing as the supposed voice of reason to keep her from doing crazy stuff, or at least, fixing the problems she creates for herself.
>>
>>33618291
>see how long we'll need to evade the police until we'll be legally clear again.
Yeah...about that.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statute_of_limitations#Heinous_crimes_in_the_United_States

There's no statute of limitations on murder.
We'll always be wanted. We'll always be hunted.
Which means no internet for us.
>>
>>33618427
We could be overblowing things, they might just want Cecil for it, and us for simple questioning.
Cecil would probably be fine becoming a flesh forest recluse, or our live in familiar, or similar situation.

Won't know for sure until next thread.
>>
You know, I just realized that we got no really useful information about the Doctor from interrogating and killing Mariana.
We don't know what he looks like, his habits, where he lives, his specialties and Affinity, not even his name.
We don't know who the other apprentices are, we don't know their names, what they look like, if any of them are Bound as Familiars, where they live, their specialties, their level of skill.
We don't know what kinds of spells they can cast with their rods, how many charges they tend to have, or their level of proficiency.

We killed a woman and put targets on ourselves and Cecil making it impossible for us to move around in the city and get supplies without fear of being arrested, for information we could have gotten from passive observation, and at least then we could have gotten faces and where they live, and killed them without leaving evidence behind.

We also can't go back to school, so whatever amount of Bio and Chem knowledge we have is all we're going to get.

The enormity of just how badly we screwed ourselves for nothing (because we could have let Cecil kill Mariana or any of the other apprentices where we could have cleaned up the evidence instead of leaving it all lying around to be found), is staggering.
>>
>>33618532
Welcome to group votes and rushed decisions 101.

We'll clean it up, it might take us some time and a new face for both us and Cecil, but we'll clean it up and get back to life however we want to live it.
And end the Doctor.

Though, what happens to the flesh bloodline of mages if we die without an heir? It ends? Goes to our sister? Cecil is already carrying our heir?
>>
>>33618524
Possible, but I find it very unlikely.
Here's the evidence that the police have from the security cameras:
>Us and Cecil come into the hospital, and stop outside of Mariana's room
>The two of us leave
>Cecil comes back and enters Mariana's room
>an hour later, Cecil leaves Mariana's room covered in blood and is seen putting away a knife
>Mariana either bled out to death covered in knife wounds, or went crazy outside the room and kills herself
>in her room is a mass of flesh and blood, same as found at the other sites of The Skinner

With that, I don't think that any reasonable person would have us at just 'questioning', but full-on 'accomplice to a serial killer'.
>>
>>33618586
>Welcome to group votes and rushed decisions 101.
I still think the problem is that people don't want to consider consequences because, to them, it smacks too much of SRS BSNS that they were so vocal in opposing in the first thread.

That, and people not actually reading the posts but only lightly skimming through them, missing essential details such as the fact that cameras are all over the place, that there's blood spraying everywhere and onto Cecil's shirt, or that it wasn't just the tip of a finger but the first third, up to the joint.
>>
>>33618532
>what he looks like
granted we didn't find that out
>habits
or this, but his sanctuary is probably in the hospital so most of his time is most likely spent there
>specialties and Affinity
Plants, with vines as his specialty
>name
the Doctor, or at least thats the name he uses
>other apprentices and everything else on that line
we have multiple familiars scouting the area constantly, all this info can and will be gained eventually
>spells they can cast, charges, and proficiency
any spell the Doctor inscribes a rune for, each is single shot, point and shoot is all it really takes proficiency wise
>mariana consequences
we used submission to have her take her life before anyone could find out Cecil cut her up, granted they may have seen her on video but is it so weird for a patient to visit her doctor's "assistant" when she gets hurt? there's no solid proof and we can work a way out of trouble
>school
not the only school in the world, also not the only way to gain knowledge. hell we could submission the staff to aid/hide use so no one even knows we're there
>>
>>33618714
Part of the issue for me is that there are just so many directions we can jump, and with the information we have, we have to make limited choices.
Yea we've backed up a bit into a corner, but it's nothing we can't figure our way out of.

Would I have done things differently? Hell yes, from the very start and onward, but thats neither here nor there, and I'm still enjoying the quest.
>>
>>33618586
>a new face for both us and Cecil
That's really not going to be enough.
We need birth certificates, school and credit histories, library cards and social security numbers, hundreds of little different data points that need to be whole and placed into hundreds of different secure servers and databases.
The modern world, if you want to be a part of it, is not just getting a new name and face.
Otherwise, it will raise red flags in most databases when certain information is either missing or is considered "too perfect".
>>
>>33618855
All things we can get via money and magic, it'll take effort yes. But that's the price if we want back into society.

And who knows, get a reporter or two and some cops on our side and suddenly we're two victims on the run from a horrible serial killer cult that just started upping their game for a coming special apocalypse date. Lucky for us, we got away and managed to survive long enough for the police to find the evidence that matches up with what we can tell and help them with, leading to the cult being dismantled and most of it's members dead from violently resisting arrest, or in a sanitarium.
>>
>>33618813
>but is it so weird for a patient to visit her doctor's "assistant" when she gets hurt?
Do you realize just how flimsy and easily punctured that story is?
Who is the Doctor? What's his name? What's the name of his practice?
We only know that he has people call him Doctor, but we don't know if he's actually registered as such, or what his supposed specialty is.

And you're forgetting the mass of flesh and blood left over from the Submission spell, the fact that she walked out of that room covered in blood, and with a knife.
There's plenty of solid proof.

>we have multiple familiars scouting the area constantly, all this info can and will be gained eventually
Yes, and that's why I said that we could have gotten all of this information with none of the consequences we're dealing with now.

>hell we could submission the staff to aid/hide use so no one even knows we're there
What about the other students, and other staff?
What, we're going to have them just tutor us alone and away from prying eyes? You think that people as well-connected as professors wouldn't be missed?

>get a reporter or two and some cops on our side and suddenly we're two victims on the run
There's a whole slew of reasons why that wouldn't work, and it sounds like it would only make the problem so much worse to the point where a Wizard SWAT Team would be called in to stop us from making such a mess in the local area.
Remember that local wizard communities are expected to get rid of troublemakers in their area.

To them, the Doctor is doing something heinous but he's being discrete.
Us, on the other hand, are already makings waves in the news and you want to make even more waves.
>>
>>33619002
>Do you realize just how flimsy and easily punctured that story is?
yes, but at least its something beyond WE MESSED UP EVERYONE PANIC
>Who is the Doctor? What's his name? What's the name of his practice?
a dickass mage, already said we don't now, Abandoned Hospital on the Edge of Town General Hospital
>And you're forgetting the mass of flesh and blood left over from the Submission spell, the fact that she walked out of that room covered in blood, and with a knife.
Crow ate the flesh, she who? Cecil had some on her collar and was able to walk out of a hospital without getting unwanted attention and NO DNA to prove she was there
>school
of course not anon, that'd be retarded. we could submission the Dean and staff to simply not report we were there if asked by police or set up private lessons at school if needed
You bring up excellent problems, but we need to come up with solutions. Magic won't fix everything, but it does give us options if we put the time in to find them
>>
>>33619165
Doesn't have to be in the main media, witness protection program and all that.
As long as it's on the books subtly, that would be enough for us to get by on.
>>
>>33619304
>we could submission the Dean and staff
That made me think of an idea. Why don't we submission the police? If we do it very carefully, and one at a time, we'd effectively have immunity from the local law enforcement.
>>
>>33619497
Risky, but possible, though I wonder if the local mages have already made inroads there or have some sort of agreement.
>>
>>33619304
>yes, but at least its something beyond WE MESSED UP EVERYONE PANIC
Trying to proceed with a bad plan is what landed us in this problem in the first place, and you want to do it again?

And those were questions that the police would ask us, and the answers that we could give would be wholly unsatisfactory.

And the crow couldn't have eaten all of the flesh produced by the spell, as for the blood on Cecil, it was more than just on her collar.
>the loose collar of her white T-shirt now stained with red giving you a look under it.
That reads as the white T-shirt being stained red, not just the collar. The loose collar just gives us a look under it.

We can ask for clarification next time.

>and NO DNA to prove she was there
DNA isn't needed, since there's video evidence of her leaving the room and putting away a knife.
Not to mention the blood on the bed sheets.
>>
>>33619527
Hell, even Suggesting a large portion of them would make our activities significantly easier.

Just Suggest that they ignore us. If they're all doing so, then we're fine.
>>
>>33619538
So we are at least agreed that we need to sit down with Cecil in our lap one way or another and plan out a full method of attack?
Deal with the Doctor and his group/support structure.
Find out what the cops know and suspect, find a way to remove evidence and memories/urges to find us.
Contact Fire Mage and find out what the deal with him and the rest of the world in general is.
And start working on Cecil, both fixing her physically and mentally so that she's not stuck as crazy or addicted to us, but just happy and a little crazy while being a functional person that isn't all bloodlusty.
>>
>>33619766
Yes, we need to come up with a plan, we need to acquire information, and until we can act on it, we need to remove the batteries from our phone and our wifi unit. Placing them in a plastic bag and having our crows or dogs burying them far from our Sanctuary would be best.

As for removing evidence and memories, we're living in a digital age where there's going to be hundreds of pages of reports and evidence, all backed up on secure offsite servers.
We need to come up with a plausible excuse for why days would be missing from people's memories.
Also a way to wipe the memories of anyone that they talked to about the case.
We're looking at lots of people at this point.
>>
>>33619886
When in doubt, delegate.
Get a few trustworthy and competent law enforcers on our side, then start handing out runes and staffs/wands for them to work with. They'll mix the work in with their daily jobs, and smooth out the ripples until the whole thing is blown over and forgotten as some sort of a cult or hoax.
>>
>>33619916
We still need confirmation on whether Suggestion and Submission can even be cast with runes, or if preparation of circles is required.

It'd be nice if this plan actually had a chance of working, but I don't think you could get this to go away as easily as you make it sound, or that this is a plan we should try.
>>
>>33620012
Research and testing, we have a safe place to do it in our sanctuary.

As to the feasibility of it, that will come to light with investigation into the situation, and our own abilities. Hopefully our life in this town and the country in general is salvageable, but if not, well, time to pick another country to go to and find a good source for a fake id and background.

Or appeal to the wizard council that cleaning this up is easier than letting it go to shit, but that sort of deus ex machina is really, really doubtful.
>>
>>33619916
We are also going to need to figure out how to make the staffs considering we only have one and got it from our grandfather
>>
>>33619916
I'm not seeing many alternatives.
We can use Submissioned and Bound police officers, the ones working our case, to "find" evidence linking the Doctor to using some mind-control drugs and hypnotism on Cecil to erase Mariana.

We just have to accept that we're just as bad as the Doctor when it comes to mind-controlling people against their will in order to protect our livelihood.
>>
>>33620055
>we have a safe place to do it in our sanctuary.
We also have to keep in mind that the longer this investigation goes on, the more evidence is collected and more paperwork is generated, meaning that cleaning it up gets more and more difficult, especially if the local police call in state or federal specialists, or if they've already sent evidence to labs for testing and generating a chain of custody paperwork trail.

We shouldn't rush, but we can't be lax and take all the time we want, either. At least, not now.
We could have before this entire mess exploded in our face.
>>
>>33620113
Self defense vrs Profit in my eyes.
There also is the fact that once we get the Doctor and his ring taken care of, we'll stop with the mind control bits and, if I can vote it up, start trying to better the area and ourselves. Or get dragged into more mage politics and plot.

It's like with Mariana, I don't think the torture was needed or good, but Cecil apparently needed it and it brought her closer to us. I was aiming for taking Mariana and using her against the doctor, then offering a chance at slow repentance and the like. A moment of weakness on our part and now she's (probably) dead and Cecil/us heavily implicated.

Pending on the officers involved, we might be best off just coming clean with them about this all and hoping we get a dirty harry type cop who will just want the town cleaned up of these mages and leave us be if we keep our noses clean after defending ourselves.
>>
Goodnight thread.
Here is hoping that we're happy/safe with Cecil, get our lives back, take down the bad mages, and manage to be a good Mage.
All while enjoying the perks of flesh magic.
>>
>>33620319
Your unfounded optimism is amusing and pitiable.
