Peasant Quest Part 11

Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/5PdCKbwc

QM Twitter: https://twitter.com/HeliosQM

The story so far (Ignore 2A) : http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=peasant+quest

It is the winter of 1938, you remain mostly ignorant of the political turmoil about to engulf Europe.

You have slain Ankou's servants and banished his influence from the city, you return to Siduri's hotel as a conquering hero and have earned the respect and goodwill of much of the city.

Siduri showers you with money and offers you a permanent place as her lieutenant in Casablanca, answering only to her. A position of considerable power with many perks.

You ponder her offer carefully, as you see it you have several options:

1. Take up Siduri's offer, at a stroke becoming the 2nd most powerful vampire in Casablanca.

2. Use the money you have made to depart and seek to set yourself up elsewhere on your own terms. With your vampiric potency you could take over any area not held by one of the firstborn without much difficulty.

3. Depart and wander the earth searching for answers and knowledge, living by your wits.

What would you like to do?
>>
>>33603338
>2

Time to win WWII.
>>
>>33603338
3
Why settle down? We don't need to be like Siduri, or her second hand man
>>
>>33603579

It's good to be king anon.
>>
>>33603590
King of some random city. We have potential to grow stronger and eventually, be powerful enough to do literally anything we want.

I think it would be best to wander, expand our knowledge and power, and search for information regarding Kassa and the sunbros
>>
2

We stand to gain more becoming a power in our own right, we could even start our own bloodline.

Minions, political power and wealth are likely to be of great assistance in getting what we need to free Kassa.
>>
Going with 2.
---
You gather your money and sell off the car and other items that cannot be easily transported.

You have enough that you could buy a boat and a crew and you feel confident enough in your abilities to avoid a repeat of last time you travelled by sea.

Which continent would you like to go to?
>>
>>33603728
Amurikah
>>
>>33603773

America seems like a good choice, all the first born are in the 'old world' so you should be relatively unchallenged there.

Which city/town would you like to go for?
You should consider the size of the human population and it's ability to support your appetite.
>>
>>33603846
Probably not a super major city. And I don't even know considering the time period. Lemme look around a minute, unless you have suggestions
>>
>>33603876
Major city is fine.

Become the Lord of Manhattan.
>>
>>33603846
new york
>>
>>33603876

The larger the city the more freedom you have, more people means it can support more vampires as well as more power for you if you manage to gain control.

A smaller community would mean your victims would be more likely to be noticed. Also the denizens would be less likely to have specific knowledge/skills/resources you might need.

Plus theres the matter of prestige. Being the vampire king of Sherwood, Oregon won't have the same clout as being the master of New York or LA.
>>
>>33603876
What you want to become a Canadian vampire, Lord of Toronto?
>>
>>33603987
I would laugh so fucking hard.

Seconding Manhattan then
>>
You make your preparations to book passage to New York.

Siduri seems disappointed that you'll be leaving her but the idea of having a powerful city in the new world allied to her seems to have some appeal.

She assists you in acquiring a suitable ship and a crew that has some understanding of your unique needs. She also supplies you with three prisoners, convicted murderers taken from death row to act as nourishment on the journey.

Before you go, you are stricken by a strange compulsion. You commission the manufacture of a large sarcophagus for you to rest in. The interior affixed with lead weights so that it is extremely difficult to open. Upon its surface you have carved reliefs depicting key moments in your life thus far. You are unsure why you have done this but its completion feels immensely satisfying.

Is there anything you wish to do before leaving?
>>
>>33604119
not that i can think of
>>
>>33604119
No sir.

Also, I'm headed in to work. Half day. See you guys in like 5 hours. Good luck
>>
Siduri gives you the details necessary to telegraph her and tells you to stay in touch. Adding with a smile that she may come and visit you in a few years to see what you have made in the new world.

With all of your belongings already aboard you get aboard the ship that will bear you across the Atlantic. There is a specially sealed off section for you which contains your sarcophagus as well as the three prisoners, each chained within a room with just enough food and water.

You are soon underway making good speed. Days and nights pass without incident, you spend your hours listening to the wireless, watching the moon over the ocean and reading a few books you bought with you.

One night you awaken with the hunger upon you. You must feed and you have three victims to choose from. An older Moroccan man, a younger German man and the youngest a Moroccan woman aged 20 at most.

Files were left with you providing basic details about each prisoner….

What do you do?
>>
>>33604471
I guess we should read their files.
>>
>>33604471
Read the files
>>
>>33604471
Bah. We're gonna eat them all anyway.
>>
>>33604471
Read the files
>>
>>33604500

The older man is named Hassan he is 49 years old and even after weeks of a prison diet rather fat. He was a wealthy business owner who was found guilty of the rape and murder of 3 children over the past 5 years. He is believed to be responsible for more but that is all that they could prove.

The younger man is called Albrecht. He is 25 years old, tall, strong and bears several impressive looking scars. He looks as though he has been badly beaten recently and is still recovering. He is a deserter from the Foreign Legion who killed two of the legionnaires sent to bring him back.

The woman, Yasmin is 20 years old and extremely attractive. She manages to look sultry even in chains and having been in a lightless cell for weeks. Despite her beauty, her dark eyes are cruel and hard. She was found guilty of poisoning both of her parents in a bid to lay claim to their considerable wealth.

What do you do?
>>
>>33604716
Eat Hassan
>>
>>33604716
I suppose we can consider turning Albrecht at the next full moon. The MC is Mediterranean-looking, it'll be useful, in the mid-twentieth century, to have somebody around who's whiter than him.

After eating Yasmin I guess.
>>
>>33604716

Hassan is quite clearly lunch. However we should have a chat with the other two. If we are to take a city we need servants.

If we turn them would we still get sustenance from feeding on them? Also what are the particulars of turning a human into a vampire? Any special mechanics?
>>
>>33604798
That was explained in thread 8.

>>32883389
>Type two vampires are created by biting and draining a victim to death at midnight on a full moon and willing them to rise. Type ones are created the same way, but at any other time.
>>
>>33604798

As >>33604848 says

Furthermore, vampires you create will be unusually strong. Their physical strength and the speed at which they are able to heal will be roughly equivalent to that of a 200 year old 'normal' type 2.

A quasi-instinctive bond is created between parent and child. The child will naturally feel obedient and deferential toward the parent and the parent will feel protective of the child. These are powerful emotions, but they can be overcome. You will also be able to feel each others presence over a far greater distance and with far more precision than with other vampires.

Additionally, with a vampire of your age and power. Certain emotions and desires can be passed down, this is not something that is predictable or controllable. (It's not a coincidence that Siduri finds you so desirable, she inherited it.)
>>
These people are the living AIDS. We can find better candidates for conversion. Eat the smallest one first, because the fat one will keep longer.
>>
>>33604997
Only two of them are murderers, the third guy killed trying to defend himself.

We can just wait and turn locals too though, yeah.
>>
We should apply a little test.

Use our 'windows to the soul' gaze on each of them.

Those who are broken by it get eaten, those who can endure it have proven at least an unusual strength of will and are vamp material.
>>
>>33604997
Yasmin is on the menu for today then!
>>
>>33605037

+1

I like this idea!
>>
>>33605031
He deserted the Legion, he lacks honor. Such shame cannot be allowed.
>>
>>33605037
Do that test on the locals. Not these dudes.
>>
>>33604716
Eat Hassan first
>>
>>33605071
The MC doesn't care about honor.

You lied to your mentor and abandoned Menelau in the fight against bandits.

Clearly, it was meant to be.
>>
>>33605101
We dont want a dishonorable servant. We need dependable people.
>>
>>33605071

All we have are brief reports. There may be more to them than it appears. Although I cant see what possible spin there could be on Hassan.

>>33605083
They already have a pretty big qualification for undeath down pat. They are killers and have a certain level of ability. Plus its not like turning someone into a vampire is doing them a favour.

We could do a lot worse than having a badass soldier and a seductive black widow as our vampire minions.
>>
>>33605130
There are killers in New York, anon.

>captcha: resurrec

At least don't go for becoming the new vampire-dad of the one who killed her *last* parents for personal gain.
>>
>>33605130
The badass soldier couldn't deal and fled, and the black widow will probably bite us in the ass later on.
>>
To break this down into some choices I can work with from what you guys seem to want.

1. Apply the magic eye test. Mark the losers down for food and the winners down for consideration. (might be worth speaking to the 'winners' before making a decision. The reports you have may not be 100% accurate.)

2. Eat Hassan

3. Eat Yasmin

>>
3
>>
>>33605191
Eat the chick, return to lead box.
>>
>>33605191
2. Eat Hassan
>>
>>33605191

Magic eye test.

Come on guys we lose literally nothing by doing it. We can always eat them after the fact, win or lose.
>>
>>33605243
The ones that are stronger-willed are actually *worse* candidates because they are more able to rebel. No.
>>
>>33605254

Our firstborn should not be weak-willed slaves but capable lieutenants.

Besides, we can always eye them, then eat them. We dont learn anything at all by eating them off the bat.

>>
>>33605282
Except the ones who 'fail' can't be restored, can they?
>>
>>33605243
Fine I'll second your curiosity
>>
>>33605191
3. Eat the treacherous one
>>
>>33605316
Glad I'm not the only one who's getting the feeling of samefagging
>>
Going with 1 because the reasoning behind it seems the most compelling and it's a cool idea.
--

You visit Hassan first. He does not seem to be taking captivity well. His skin is pale and he has dark rings under his eyes. When he sees you he lets out a yelp of fear and tries to scramble away, but there is nowhere he can go.

You seize him by the hair and stare into his eyes.

He pleads and screams and cries. Then begins to softly gibber before falling silent. You release your grip and he slumps to his knees, staring blankly at the floor. He seems to have failed the test.

Next you visit Albrecht and repeat the process. Unlike Hassan, he does not attempt to flee but stands and faces you unflinching, though you can tell he is afraid. As you look into his eyes his skin turns pale, the muscles in his jaw stand out as he clenches his teeth. After you break eye contact he falls on all fours and vomits. Still retching, he looks up at you.

"Christ. What the fuck was that?" "What did you do to me you fucking monster?"

It appears that his mind is still intact and he has passed the test.

Finally you visit Yasmin, she seems to be scratching her name into the wall of the cell. She turns when you enter, aghast at your appearance.

"What are you?" Her voice is thick with fear.

You do not answer her and as with the others gaze into her eyes. She begins screaming almost at once, tears flow down her face and all the colour drains from her. When you release her the screams fade into sobs. Like the rest, she seems unable to stay on her feet. She speaks without looking up at you.

"Can't you just get it over with? Do you have to torture me as well?"

She seems to have passed.

What do you do?
>>
>>33605615
Eat Hassan
>>
>>33605615
The soldier seems an okay choice to turn. Not so sure about the chick though.

Maybe have soldier guy turn her so she's not as powerful. If we want to turn her at all.
>>
>>33605615
Eat Hassan, turn Albrecht
>>
>>33605758
We can't until the full moon, pay attention.
>>
As it happens, it is a full moon tonight.
>>
>>33605791
>Implying we cant keep him till next full moon
>>
>>33605830
Convenient
>>
>>33605831
Well yes we could. Obviously that was the plan assuming it wasn't a full moon. But you can't really vote to turn him right now, you'd be voting to wait and leave him.

But it turns out we can.

So, time to eat Hassan and then get to know Al a bit.
>>
Find out what made the soldier desert. He might be cool, might be a perfidious shit.
>>
>Eat Hassan

You return to Hassan's cell. He has not moved since you left him and he does not react when you pick him up and bite into his neck. It is over quickly and your hunger is sated for now.

You wrap his body in a sheet from the bed in the cell and drag his body upstairs to the weather deck. You pass Albrecht and Yasmin's cells as you go, they can likely guess what it is you are dragging.

You toss Hassan's body into the ocean and feel somewhat satisfied that this is a kill you dont have to feel bad about.

What do you want to do with Albrecht and Yasmin?
>>
>>33605943
Chat with Albrecht about his life.
>>
>>33605943
Offer Albrecht the vampirism, we dont want a servant that hate us for turning him.
>>
Wait, did the MC still not learn spacewarping? He really should have by now.
>>
>>33605955

You head back to Albrecht's cell.

He has since cleaned up the vomit as best he can and is staring out the porthole.

You pull up a chair and sit down.

"Theres blood on your face." He says, his voice still trembling. "Hassan's?"

You nod.

"I understand that you are here because you deserted your post, then killed the men who were sent to bring you back. Is that true?

"What business is it of yours monster?"

How do you approach this?

1. Intimidate him.

2. Tell him the truth.
>>

"Some associates of mine took you and your fellows from prison to serve as my food on this voyage."

"I may have use for you beyond that. But before I make a decision I must test you. You have already passed my first test. Think of this as the second. I wish to know the circumstances of your desertion."

Albrecht looks at you bitterly,

"My commanding officer was a coward and a fool. He threw away the lives of my comrades in a vain attempt to win glory for himself, he tried to do the same with me and I walked away."

He shrugs

"They sent men to bring me back, I did not wish to go. We fought and I won. That was that."

What do you do?
>>
>>33606557
Time powers. Not space ones.

You always had space powers, but you had no idea how to use them.

You had to roll to try to use them for the second time ever, since the first time 120 millennia earlier. Still untrained.
>>
>>33606617
I'm up for turning him now, seem useful enough
>>
>>33606617
Good enough I guess. Turn him.
>>
>>33606617
Well that was obvious.

At midnight tonight, I can give you eternal life. We have some time before that to chat.
>>
Do you wish to give him a choice?

If so, what if he refuses?
>>
>>33606695
Turn him anyway.

If he still wants to die, he can suicide by sunlight.
>>
>>33606695
Give him a choice, but if he says no we eat him.
>>
>>33606720
This works
>>
>>33606720
Turning him requires eating him. We don't lose much by turning him and eating him too.
>>
>>33606695

No

In the words of Kassa, he'll get over it. Not like he has better prospects anyway plus the whole vampire child instinct will kick in.
>>
>>33606773
Yeah.

I mean, at the least, we could save him for next full moon since we're full and not hungry right now anyway.

>captcha: chinkeye
damn captcha you racist
>>
>>33606773
We can give him a fake choice first though. Try and convince him it's better than dying. 50/50 chance!
>>
>No choice

"Well" Albrecht asks

"Did I pass your test?"

"Yes" you reply before suddenly lunging for his throat.

You drain him quickly, not wanting to cause any unneccesary suffering. He tries to struggle and throw you off but it is useless. You release him as his last breath escapes his body. He falls to the floor limp and lifeless.

You reach out with your will, you can feel flickers of energy around the bite wound, like a fainter version of the energy that radiates from a vampire allowing you to sense them.

You fan these embers until they are stronger, then direct them to take root in Albrecht's corpse. The seed thus planted you take a handful of soil from your sarcophagus and scatter it over him to complete the ritual. He will rise at nightfall tomorrow.

As you close the door to Albrechts cell, you hear movement from the Yasmin's room. From the sound of it she was pressed up against the wall listening to your conversation.

What do you do?
>>
>>33607087
Same treatment, ask about herself and crimes and see if we want her as a follower
>>
>>33607087
Ask her how she can be useful to us
>>
>>33607087
I guess we can visit her. I'd rather not turn her though. If we do, Al should do it so she isn't as powerful.
>>
>>33607200

Would so young a vampire even be able to do that?

Plus then she would have the loyalty bond to him rather than to us.

We should turn her ourselves.
>>
>>33607257
No, no turning her. We have our number one son. That's enough.
>>
>>33607087
Forget her. go back to sarcophagus.
>>
>>33607087
Do the same as with Al
>>
>>33607087

We need to keep her around so that Al can eat when he's hungry and awake.

>>
>>33607362
What?
>>
>>33607156
As food for Albrecht, obviously.

>>33607087
Doesn't matter, just no eating and turning her.

We have our badass soldier, now we can add a seductive manipulator. I imagine they will be an effective combo.
>>
>>33607445
There's nothing indicating she's either of those things. She just poisoned people.
>>
>>33607445

She managed to look hot and sultry in spite of being on 1930's Morocco death row and evidently has strong willpower. I'd say she's got potential at the very least.
>>
You return to Yasmin's cell without bothering to clean yourself up.

She is sitting on her bed facing the door, evidently she was expecting you.

Do you wish to tell her the truth of why you have come or do you wish to simply demand answers?
>>
>>33607678
She's just going to lie and say whatever she thinks will let her 'pass' anyway.

She really can't be trusted.
>>
>>33607678
Just talk to her a bit. Let's see how our first one turns out before doing another.
>>
>>33607678

Reminder to eat 1000 pure souls.
>>
>>33608002
When does a human get a soul? Could we go around offering free abortions?
>>
>>33608076
Just start eating in the terminally ill children ward.
>>
>>33608002
Kassa probably tried that.
The joke is no human soul counts as pure.
Not even children.
>>
>>33608115
We know exactly what pure souls means.

It means virgins.

This isn't a trick. It is a real, accomplishable mission from God.
>>
>>33608133
From *a* god.
And if being reunited with Kassa was as simple as killing a thousand virgins, we would've woken up a long time ago.
I get the distinct feeling that the tree is just going to move the goal post whenever we get close.
>>
>>33608115
And? We're here now, aren't we?

Kassa's problem is she didn't have the patience to wait another 900 years or so, so she threw a tantrum.
>>
>>33607678

"I am going to ask you some questions. You will answer honestly and fully. If you lie to me, I will know and you will find out firsthand what happened to Hassan. Do you understand?"

She nods, keeping her eyes on the floor.

"Why were you imprisoned?"

She stutters as she speaks, clearly terrified.

"I killed my parents. Poisoned them."

"Why?"

"I only meant to kill my mother, my father... well he was no true father to me but he did not deserve to die. They drank the same wine."

She is quite obviously uncomfortable with the topic, but continues..

"My mother had always wanted a son and never let me forget it. She would beat me and lock me in my room to starve for a day and a night when I was a child for the smallest slight. As I got older it only grew worse. My father was always away on business and never seemed to care."

"One day my mother came to me and told me that she had arranged a marriage, though it was more of a sale in truth. I was to marry a disgusting brute of a man more than twice my age. There were horrible rumours about him but she didnt care."

Her voice grows harder,

"I told her I would rather die than marry him, she told me it'd be better if I were dead and she'd hoped I'd die every day since I was born. My only way out was to kill her. My only regret is my father, he was never supposed to be there."

She looks up at you and smiles grimly.

"Whatever you plan to do to me, I thank you for getting rid of my betrothed."

She inclines her head towards Hassan's room.

"A more vile man never walked the earth."

What do you do/ask?
>>
>>33608295
Convert. We need a group to gain faster ground when we get there.
>>
>>33608295
Turn her.
>>
>>33608380
>>33608295
Ask her if she wants to be converted first. Then, do it anyways even if she says no
>>
>>33608295
It seems like she will be quite loyal if the story is true as it gives us and her a parent-child bond. I think we should offer her a choice if she doesn't want it we snap her neck if she does we turn her
>>
>>33608295
I think we should wait until next month to decide to turn her. I want to know how our first one turns out.
>>
>>33608504
I can agree to this. Ask her if she wants to be turned, anyways
>>
>>33608295
I don't believe her.

This is way too perfect and sympathetic.

And her betrothed just HAPPENED to end up on death row at the same time she did?

This is bullshit.
>>
>>33608504
Yeah seriously do not turn her, we're not rushing this.
>>
>>33608587
Yeah, I got the feeling she's playing us. Let's wait until next month at least.
>>
>>33607557
Well good news anon, she's manipulating *us* right the fuck now.
>>
>>33608587
I agree
>>
Given what you did with Albrecht you see little point in offering her a choice.

You grab a firm hold of her and she whimpers. Before you bite her you whisper into her ear.

"Do not fear. You are dead but will not die."

You drain her quickly and repeat the process you used on Albrecht.

After some consideration, you take the bodies out of their cells and lie them next to each other at the foot of your sarcophagus, so you can better keep an eye on them.

Now it occurs to you that you have a new problem. When they awaken, they will be hungry and there is no-one left for them to eat.

There appear to be two options:

1. Prey on the crew.

2. Speak to the captain and attempt to close with another ship before sunset tomorrow.

What do you do?
>>
>>33608295
She knows the real truth will make her 'fail', so she takes a risk that we're bullshitting about being able to tell when she's lying.

And apparently lots of anons can't.

Forget this liar and leave her locked up.
>>
>>33608653
>Now it occurs to you that you have a new problem. When they awaken, they will be hungry and there is no-one left for them to eat.

Youuuu dumbasses, I told you.

I leave for five minutes and you turn someone completely untrustworthy and starve yourself and Albrecht at the same time.
>>
>>33608653
Damn, you should tell us when you're writing. Seems like there was more support for waiting.
>>
>>33608653
>1. Prey on the crew.
Tell Albrecht to keep a close eye on Yasmin
>>
>>33608653
2. Speak to the captain and attempt to close with another ship before sunset tomorrow.

They have a strong emotional inclination towards loyalty but it goes both ways; you will develop protective feelings for them. But like any emotion it can be overcome or subverted, as Kassa's relationship with the firstborn proved.

We can't. We have two time powers and that's it. You can't just try things and make up new powers.

You decide to speak to the captain.

Without giving him too many details, you advise him that he needs to find another ship before sundown tomorrow as you have run out of food.

He seems to grasp the situation and is quickly examining charts and giving orders to other crewmen.

Is there anything else you wish to do before retiring for the day?

Not really, she'll be about as strong as 200 yr old type two according to Helios.

We should give her a chance, she doesn't really pose a threat to us.

With the hour remaining until dawn you practice one of the meditative exercises Arsaces taught you.

You have crossed a threshold, spreading the curse of undeath to two others. But now you are no longer alone in this strange world, perhaps you have finally found people that you can trust and confide in. You wonder how Kassa felt when she first spread vampirism to another all those years ago.

The thought of her fills you with melancholy. She is the only part of your old life that remains, the only one who truly knows who you are.

You relive memories of the childhood you shared until the dawn takes you.

******

You awaken the next night with a sense of unease. Something is wrong.

You check Albrecht and Yasmin, they are much as you left them and will likely awaken within the hour.

You look for the captain, but there is no sign of the crew, the ship seems deserted. A quick check reveals that the lifeboats are missing and the engine has been sabotaged. You are adrift.

To make matters worse a thick has surrounded your ship. Your senses tell you it is *not* natural...

What do you do?

Store a punch in the timepocket and prepare for battle.

This is what happens if you tell the crew you hunger for blood and you need more food. They run.
>>
>>33609979
>It is likely clogging up our spidey sense, but might as well check if it is tingling.

Very much so. You've felt this presence before, coming from reanimated bones. But then it was a faint flicker, now it is thousands of times stronger.
>>
>>33609918
Walk out onto the main deck and await the guy who summoned the fog
>>
>>33610051

So Mr. Bones has found us. Make our way to the Captains area. His dickass is probably there
>>
>>33609918
>What do you do?

Loudly make skeleton puns.
>>
>>33610071

You head out to the weather deck, waiting for whomever is responsible for this fog to appear.

You do not have to wait long.

A gust of wind clears some of the fog, revealing a huge battleship only a dozen or so meters ahead of your ship.

Whilst huge and formidable, the dreadnaught seems to have seen better days. It is corroded and has several large holes in the hull. As you look closer you realise that it is a miracle that it is even in one piece, let alone afloat. By the look of it it seems to have spent some time underwater. There are various figures visible moving about the deck and standing sentry. Some are clearly animated corpses but you are suprised to see that others are clearly alive and clad in rag-tag military gear.

A large shape suddenly leaps from the bow of the battleship, landing a few metres in front of you with a loud thud.

You have seen this figure before, though not in the flesh. He is tall and thin, clad in various mismatched garments. He wears what appears to be a greatcoat from a British officer in the Great War in Europe, beneath that is a disintegrating scale mail surcoat with various talismans hanging from it. On his legs the navy blue trousers of a military sailor under rusted knee-high medieval plate boots. Strapped to his back is what appears to be a large metal propeller that has been flattened and sharpened into a crude blade.

His face is a ruin, around third of it seems to have been simply chewed off, with his skull, the surface of which is covered in branching tree roots clearly visible. On the top of his head the roots branch upward, forming a strange partial crown over the left side.

This must be Ankou.

He raises his open hands to you.

"Peace Anon, I mean you no harm."

What do you do?
>>
>>33610589
"I suppose you're here to give me a lift, then?"
>>

>>

>I suppose you're here to give me a lift, then?

Ankou laughs.

"Bold, but not quite. Your actions in service of my sister were worthy of some respect. In light of that I have come to offer you an exchange."

"I came upon your crew fleeing in their lifeboats, I can return them to you. With the proper motivation I imagine they will be able to repair your vessel."

"In return, you shall owe me a boon which I will call upon when I have need of it.What do you say? "
>>
>>33611344
If only we were strong enough to threaten him.

I really do not want to take him up on this. I don't like owing assholes favors.

>>
>>33611344
That sounds ambiguous. We have those two other vampires. Maybe they can nigger rig the engines. Or something.
>>
>>33611412
Give an alternative then.

Being stranded in the middle of the ocean is a consequence of telling the crew you're hungry like a trusting idiot.
>>

We still need food, and I doubt three people can crew a ship of this size.

He chuckles

"Excellent!"

He gives you a lopsided grin, which given his face is probably the best he can manage.

"Your wayward crew returned."

He signals to his ship and a single lifeboat, packed with the missing crew pulls alongside. One of Ankou's living servants gestures with his rifle for them to climb aboard. They do not seem happy to be back.

Ankou nods to you. "Until that day."

He then hops overboard onto the now empty lifeboat before disappearing into the fog.

Your 'children' will be awake and hungry very shortly and you have a troublesome crew to deal with, though now they have no means of escape.

What do you do?

Go back to where Yasmin and Albrecht are, we should probably be there when they wake up. They are liable to be abit confused.

Feed the first group to the kids, make the second group watch. Inform them that the longer it takes to get to New York, the more likely that is to happen to them.

You separate the captain and two crewmen who worked in the galley from the group. You tell the first mate that he is the new captain and the longer it takes you to get to New York the more of them will die. But if you make it there, you’ll let the survivors go. As the mist begins to clear they quickly disappear below decks to work on the engine.

You firmly bind the captain and two sailors with rope and lead them downstairs to your rooms.

You arrive just in time as Albrecht and Yasmin begin to stir. At the same time they sit up.

Albrecht touches the gaping wound you left in his neck.

“What happened?”

What do you say to them?

>>33612510

Yeah it's not like she didn't kill her *last* dad for wealth or anything.

Unfortunately there is little to be done now except killing her, and nobody else will vote for that until she actually shows signs of betrayal. Which she'd be smart enough to hide.
>>
Why is everyone forgetting how high-power we are?
Literally indestructible, incredibly strong and fast, time control.

OP isn't going to totally fuck us over turning one deceptive vampire, and unless you guys want to *never* get any vampire with some degree of social competence we aren't going to do much better than Yasmin.
That's the risk of social vampires, they're all very good at plots and will likely send you guys into a fit of paranoia anytime they do anything.

>>33613189

>>
>>33613226

We can literally just freeze time and be elsewhere.
>>
>>33613262
By that logic, there's absolutely no reason to worry about anything at all, ever, either.

All she has to do is conspire with the right people in a bid for power. Or do you think there's nothing in the world that the MC could possibly need to worry about?

>>33613262

>>33613335
The only 'right people' I can think of that she might be able to ally with would be the one 2nd gen back in London.
Siduri and Arsasces like us, I doubt she can offer Ankou anything worth more than a favor from a '2nd gen' and the sister in London couldn't off us when we were hanging out in her city.
Defeating Kassa took an alliance of every existent 2nd gen, all the now-dead ones and the descendants of the order that originally sealed us, wielding a spear that is currently too busy binding Kassa to be used against us.
I think we're okay for at least a while.
>>
>>33613514
>wielding a spear
A twin of which is out there.

So, yes, you really do think there's literally nothing to worry about ever. It's Win-Instantly-Forever-Quest.

It's not like you could lose your underlings, your seat of power, your wealth, your possessions, or anything.
>>
>>33613514
>for at least a while.

Nobody said betrayal would come instantly.
>>
>>33613514
Well yes but that a door made out of regular materials and it is easy enough to trap us with some holy magic circle around us or we could get trapped by other means
>>
>>33613577
>A twin of which is out there
There were also two first vampires, but nobody knows that.
You're assuming that she can somehow:
Find the descendants of this order of paladins, which may or may not still be alive.
Array them against us and on her side (unlikely, as she's a vamp and the last time they allied took a rampaging first gen)
Find the second spear, which nobody even knows exists and she doesn't know about the spears in the first place.
And finally, win the resultant battle in the short period of time before we evolve enough to be Kassa-tier powerful.

I don't think that there's nothing to worry about, I'm just not about to immediately kill one of our children over some incredibly outlandish thing they *might* do.
I doubt anyone that isn't second-gen even knows about the first spear.

>>33613685
We just need to train our powers more, that circle barely kept us held when we were a starving newborn.
It also explicitly stated that if we were well-fed at the time we could've broken it.

You tell them the basics, that they have become vampires and you are the father of their new lives, that you will guide and protect them. They are both clearly confused, disbelieving and disturbed by what you are telling them but listen intently.

They both begin involuntarily glancing at the crewmen you brought with you, their mouths hanging open ever so slightly, You recognize the signs of hunger pangs.

Eating a living person will probably leave them with no doubts as to what they are now.

You take one of the crewmen's bootknives and give the captain a small cut across the face.

"You need not hold back, give in to what your instincts are telling you. We can speak more when you finish."

As one they fall upon the crewmen, the feeding frenzy is short and brutal. Within a few minutes, there is little left of the crewmen and your 'children'' are covered in in blood and gore.

You wait a few minutes for the blood-euphoria to lift and the gravity of their situation.

This time it is Yasmin that speaks.

"God, what did we just do? I couldnt control myself, it felt so good.... but this is..."

"Evil" Albrecht finishes for her. Looking equally horrified at what he has just done.

"So you have made us into monsters?"

At that moment, two of Yasmin's teeth fall out. She shrieks.

What do you do?
>>
Tip about unbound action, it can be used to circumvent obstacles.

For example, you could store up a five foot leap forward. Stand in front of a wall, activate it and then leap five feet forward through the wall as though it were not there (provided there was no obstruction to the stored leap)
>>
>>33613934

>>33613934

You make it clear to them that feeding on living blood is a necessity of unlife. But that such wanton brutality as they have just displayed can be avoided with the proper application of will, which you can teach them. You tell them that the choice of who is to live and who is to die lies with them.

They nod bleakly in acknowledgement.

>Inspect Yasmin's teeth.

You take a closer look at Yasmin's teeth, bidding her open her mouth so you can get a better look. She hesitantly does so.

You can see the thorns starting to come through and recall when the same thing happened to you. You feel a strange swell of paternal pride.

You tell them that their teeth will come to resemble yours in a few days and that it's nothing to worry about.

The both of them appear understandably overwhelmed by all of this and say nothing, exchanging a brief glance with each other.

This, furthermore consider that these two know precisely jack diddly squat about vampires beyond what we just told them.

I don't think we should tell them the whole truth, but we shouldnt lie to them either. Other vampires/supernaturals may notice something odd about them and it behooves us to warn them in some way. Let them know that there is 'a truth' to be told about their lineage but that the complexities of vampire politics make it dangerous, you'll tell them when they are able to safely navigate those circles on their own.

It doesn't even need the 'known world' qualifier really, since she did walk the earth as a vampire before the MC did, by a day or so.

"It was difficult to understand, images and words coming from many different voices. It seemed to say that we were acolytes or its grandchildren or both. It spoke of a lineage it started, like some kind of royalty. How it created you and your sister or was it wife? The blonde girl her name was...."

Yasmin picks up where he trailed off

"Kassa was her name right? That it had made you as you made us to spite the sun. It all became very confused after that."

What possible point is there? We are a part of it now effectively. Its unliving altars.

Suggest humans not make deals with psychic trees, but there's no point in a vampire trying to spite the tree. It's only spiting yourself.
>>
I think we need to be somewhat honest with them, theyre a part of this too.

Tell them that yes, the tree created you and Kassa, you were the first of your kind. Some of what they have seen are memories of yours. This makes them special and sets them above most other vampires but that they can't tell anyone about this. They are like Russian Royalty in hiding. If they tell anyone they are putting themselves in terrible danger.

Tell them theres more to it and you'll clue them in as soon as you can but this is all bound up in vampire society/mythology and at the very least you need to set up a safe home before making waves.

The first vampire is known by our kind as the Mother. No other vampires on earth seem to know her name. If you have heard her name, I would not mention it to any others but me.

I can agree with this, but make sure there's special emphasis on the don't talk about it part. Let them know that nobody would believe them anyway, and the ones that would will mean you harm

You tell them the above and that you have brought them into a complex and delicate situation. That trusting them with this is more than you have trusted anyone with anything.

Most would not believe them if they spoke of it in any case and those that did would mean them harm.

They seem to take this admission well, visibily bouyed up by your trust in them.

"I understand, It is obvious we have much to learn about ourselves and the world. I will follow you." Albrecht states flatly with a curt nod of his head.

"As will I." Yasmin follows, bowing her head.

"We owe our lives to you father."

>Say we unbound a punch. When we release it is there visual indication, like a ghost image of is performing it?

You don't know yet.

>Also, do we decide where it happens or does it project from our body exactly like how we stored it?

The latter.
