Previously: Cerulean arrived upon a mysterious island after a mission to rescue shipwrecked personnel had gone awry due to mysterious humanoid monsters.

Meeting the natives, Cerulean found aid in the form of a humanoid monster by the name of Kurojo, a tusked Kahkori of Kakarkiko island.

With his and his uncle's help, she had been reunited with Marine, her friend from training and childhood.

After killing a fierce foe reviled by Kahkori, Cerulean fell ill, and was given a cure by Kurojo. In the village, she learned of a strange ability and found herself able to utilize "Aura."

Journeying with Kurojo, Cerulean and Marine make it to the joint city of races amongst the island chain. It is there in Raguna city that she fights to the death with a rambunctious Smolderan.
Slipping out of her right mind, she executes her foe with absolute certainty, earning her some recognition with a Smolderan leader and the right to engage in a hunting exam at his request.

Cerulran takes a test with another species known as the Araraki, an infallibly polite and timid representative of her people.
Upon completing the hunt, they are put through a naming ceremony and engage in some festivities, taking a somewhat heavier turn as Akabaron, Vi-Smohkan of the Smolderan, goes over his deal with Cerulean.

A ship made through the efforts of the three great races...

It's been more than a month since Akabaron left to Smelda. In fact, it's been more like two, maybe even getting close to three? You and Marine have been occupying yourselves by refining new and old techniques and keeping up with your own shock therapy.

Marine giggles through it. You don't quite get it, she's a water type like you. It shouldn't really ever stop hurting, but she's not even bothered anymore.

You've attained more mastery over the energy ball, capable of sending off smaller ones that arer noticeably less draining. Seralana's helped you out a lot with training control.
You asked her who those dark Araraki were in the moments that the two of you were alone. She's told you that they're the ones that don't fit in with the rest of the Araraki. The ones that can't control a particular thirst. Gluttons.
Yet when you asked her why she had powers like them, she became quite sullen.

“Mother-Father was one. Elder save from them.” She admits. “No tell. Please.”

Promising that you won't, you're just glad that she's being more open with you now.

With each day of conditioning and training you feel that home is a bit closer, even though it's still so far.
Hao's preparations come to something of a fruition. Between your and his efforts there are enough volunteers for the crew of the hunt and a boat fit with what Hao referred to as “Imperial Impaler,” a large mechanism fitted with barbs and a very real corkscrew effect to it. Should the beast attempt to clamber onto the boat, it'll receive a frightful wound, likely even the killing blow.

Yet you refuse to begin without Akabaron, and you're curious as to what's taken him so long. With Hao's permission and a small personal guard with Nala included, you take a ship bound for Smelda to see what that old cat's been up to... Could they really replicate the repel technology?
>>
>>33634727
What rank is Energy Ball at and what's the stam cost?

Rank 1? 2?

Stam 10%, right?
>>
>>33634760
>You don't quite get it, she's a water type like you.
She's, uh, Ground type too. She's got complete immunity to Electricity.
>>
I do sort of want to figure out what that araki stuff was all about.
Like, things like "why" and "what".
>>
>>33634829
They're addicts, basically. They may have either misrepresented the tenants of their race's teachings or abandoned it entirely.
>>
>>33634727

Shit, Prof, what's going on? SO many threads...

Please don't stop~
>>
>>33634816
Sounds like it's higher than rank 1, and it has variable fire settings like Ice Ball does.
>>
>>33634760
So what do we call Seralana in public? Friend?

>>
>>33634879
"Hey you." "Araraki."

I've spent years talking to friends without ever actually using their names. You just get their attention.
>>
>>33634931
Presumably, the fact that they're 'gluttons' means it's either not enough or it tastes better to eat directly from the source.
>>
>>33634975
I guess I'm just criticizing their target choice is all.
>>
>>33634975
Or from something alive.

After a week's voyage, you hear that this should be the day that you arrive at Smelda. Hao's guards stand around the ship. They wear the clothes of dock workers and shiphands, even Yasake. You had asked them why, and they quite simply said “This is a place that's easier to blend into than stand out. You and Marine were given clothes to do the same, wearing your armor underneath dirty shiphand garments, and peasant's clothes.

Heading out onto deck with the familiar rocking of a ship that's left the island swiftcurrent, you smell the air, it reeks of ash, sulfur and more ash. The sky around this place is dark and grey. In the distance you can see fumes pouring out of the top of mountains, orange-yellow and red veins running out along the sides.
Could it be? You'd only read about them, Volcanoes. This is the first time you've ever seen one! Something in you suffers a small thrill of childish glee. It's kind of breathtaking. Or rather it would be if you could spare the breath.
Yasake hands you a cloth, “Put it over your mouth. The ash of their mountains is toxic, even if they're able to tugh it out, it doesn't mean that we need to as well.”

>[] Turn it down. You'll be able to pass for a smolder this way. Less standing out, right?
>[] Wear it. You don't want to get poisoned after all.

Though, actually, it's just a cloth. It might not do much at all.

I wish we had some kind of rebreather still. We lost that shit.
>>
>>33635253
Cloth helps. It's a filter. You don't need any complicated technology to keep from inhaling ash.
>>
>>33635092
>[] Wear it. You don't want to get poisoned after all.
We have white fur. We're going to stand out either way.

What KIND of toxic is this? The kind that builds up, or the kind that can be resisted?
>>
>>33635334
well, yeah, it helps with ash. Not poison gas though.

I am sad they don't just have gasmask stalls around. You'd think they'd do that.
>>
>>33635409
The only environmental hazard mentioned was the ash. There might be poison gas, but it's probably not a constant ambient hazard.
>>
>>33635409
Smolder aren't bothered by it. And this isn't a place for tourists.

>>33636016
They're going to be so pissed when they find out, though. Generations of starvation, with the solution right under their feet. Doesn't even matter if they can't eat it: They can sell it to Kahkori and tuskless, who would enjoy better berry wines.

The land is desolate and grey. The sun is obscured by ash and smog, casting this place into a dismal light. There's not a single green tree, but their withered ashen frames remain, marking where a forest may have once stood.

The port here is barely anything to speak of, just an outcropping of rocks with houses made of metal refuse. Rusted is the dominating color amongst this bleak land of black and gray.
Of note, there are a few larger structures that remind you of the warehouses back home in both their size and lack of complexity.

As you finish fixing the cloth to your face, Yasake waves his arm as though drawing back a curtain, “Welcome to the Isle of Smelda, one of the three Smolder homes.” There's a sarcastic drip to his voice that you ignore. You and Marine step off the ship, with the disguised guards, a few staying behind to haul the meat transported upon the ship. The lifeline of the Smolder. Yasake warns that you all make yourselves scarce lest you see the feeding frenzy that is the first Smolders come to eat.
“Like samehadas” He likens them to.

The disembark is just as he'd warned. There are already Smolder gathering. Some young with still a scrap of pride in them as they push out their chests, snarling at the lot of you as you pass. Others are just weary elders, come out looking for a scrap to eat. Some of the younger ones stand beside these ones as though to guard. Likely, they're looking out for their parents and grandparents.

Some meat's thrown overboard into the crowd and it dissolves into mild fighting that's broken up with mighty roars of what you might call overseers or some kind of civic guard.

You look back, eyes lingering a bit too long and see a mighty female end a fight with a roar as she takes a haunch of monster meat for herself. You content yourself with the thought that it must be for her cubs.
Yeah...
>>
Your party walks through the port village, Wagons pulled by mighty males tromp on through. In an off-the-table trade, Yasake hands over some especially shiny bone sticks that make the male's eyes glitter. Shoving them into his belt, Yasake says something and you're all pulled by him to the next town, rumbling over rocky roads and seeing the vast, emptiness that is their lands.
Geysers here and there gush with mighty steam that scalds the very air, breaches in the ash and earth give way to hot volcanic veins. There's a chill further inland as you draw away from the warm oceanic winds, yet the natural heat of this place seems to comfort everyone else. This place is better than the Ararakian wastes at the very least.

Eventually you come to vast bubbling lakes of tar and pitch, large pockets exploding with the intense smells of the subterranean. It's beyond there that you see a city. Rising high into the air, wrought of steel and blood and piercing into the sky beyond the volcanic cloud. “This is the prime city of Smelda.” Yasake informs you, “I've been here many times before by order of my lord.”

As you come close, You see scrap-houses littering the outskirts of the great spire.

“That's... unusual.” Yasake mumbles dangerously low, staring up at a great frame positioned outside of the city...

As you near, there's a a large gathering outside, many other carts and cartpullers like yours drawing in with supply and material in the back.

“What is it?” You ask, keeping your voice low.

“If I'm not mistaken... The top of that is a keel.”

The Smolders are building a ship of steel.

You need to find Akabaron.
>>
>>33636563
Well, the metal-boat cat is out of the bag.

Turns out they discovered this stuff entirely without our input. Huh.
>>
>>33636670
INDEX!
>>
do you think they found wreckage of ship we were supposed rescue awhile back?
>>
>>33636670
Akabaron did they his island was held the most brilliant minds of his people.

Clearly he was not lying.
>>
>>33636680
The index isn't important for making metal boats at all, though.
It's important for repel tech, which is entirely unnecessary to the actual boat making. That just gives it out-of-island capacity.

Which means the secret of traveling between the islands was in the smolder's heart all along.
>>
>>33636697
They managed to decrpit our index. Fuck
>>
>>33636697
I dunno, it sank PRETTY hard.
>>
>>33636697
>>33636723
That would give them the structure, but not the blends of alloys and formulae for paint, if they can even make paint.

>>33636712
Just travel between islands is plenty, going by >>33635781
>>
>>33636778
This isnt a warship. They dont need to paint it. All it needs to do is get them to the mainland, then they will disassemble it and take the metals with them to wherever they settle.
>>
>>33636812
The paint is for rust protection. I'm sure there's a pokemon/monhun alternative, though. Can Ludroth mane adhere to metal?
>>
>>33636882
Again it depends upon how long they are going to be using the ship for. If its for like two trips then they wont give a shit.
>>
>>33636778
Yeah, travel between islands is a lot.
And it was in the smolder's the entire time.
>>
>>33637000
Ok then how the fuck did they manage to hide this knowledge from the authorities for 200+ years? Like srsly you would think that being able to build warships like this would warrant some attention.
>>
>>33637108
Obviously they only needed a little nudge and encouragement to get them going.

Like all "It was in your heart all along" scenarios.
>>
The city is great and vast, though your party makes it through quickly. Yasake's sense of urgency carries you all forward, striking down Smolders that attempt to stop any of you with blindingly swift strikes. The guards at your rear hide the bodies before returning to the group, keeping up the pace for a time.

“We must speak with Akabaron and hear what is going on. This is treason.”

“Treason?” You ask, you've heard it before. Once in passing.

“Offense to the empire. This threatens everything we've accomplished.”

“But what about the hunt, the ship?”

“It would have been under our control. As it is now, we need to take him and return to our ship. Force him to stand trial and seize the shipyard. Though it could be too late if there is work being done in their other colonies.” Yasake bites back, “How could they have learned this?”

If we find Akabaron first, we can demand our gear before doing anything to help them.

There's also this. We can also explain to him that the ship building is fine: If we succeed at the hunt, then there is no need to maintain the old system.

If we comandeer it, with a retinue of Kahkori, it might calm the Tuskless. Akabaron owes us that much, at least.

This.

Although we don't know how exactly Hao would react to knowing that metal ships are made, it is true that he had already expected it. We can't say exactly what Hao would want done, but he may want to put off a war from happening as far back as possible. Taking Akabaron in may exacerbate things.

Tell Yasake these things. It might be best to tiptoe right now. Even if he took in Akabaron, like he said, it might already be too late. The knowledge may have already spread.

You step back, wary of Yasake and his recent track of thought. No, this isn't good... “If you do something to Akabaron, it could mean war. Hao doesn't want that.”

Yasake stares at you, low and steady, “Lord Hao,” He corrects, “Looks out for the commonwealth of Raguna, and the Khakori. The Smolder threaten this with the mere knowledge. If their intentions are not just, which I must assume that they are not, then we must cut off their head and strike before they finish such a project. What worries me most is the size of the ship in the yard. It's of such a size that it could never outmaneuver our ships... What then.”

“I'll find out.” You say, staring right back at him. “Marine and I will go talk to him. If you leave it to us, we'll find out for you.”

Yasake narrows his eyes upon you, obtrusively blowing air through the black cloth upon his cere. “I will allow this then. Meet us in the outskirts by their curfew or we'll come looking.” He rises up, waving to the guards, “With me.” They break away, leaping through the structures effortlessly.

With just you and Marine, you'll need to find a way to locate Akabaron...

You and Marine head for the yard. It's the largest other thing besides the citadel of metal they have constructed here. You can see it from just about anyway from the street so long as that structure isn't in the way.

Once there, you see many strong and young Smolder firing off their flame to temper steel, cut out sections. And plenty of other forge-work with their bare claws. The beat of hammers is deafening and the thundering cries of directors and taskmasters.

You stand at the edge, barbed fences holding back the potentially unsavory.

You and Marine find a moment to hop over when one of them isn't looking, only to be seen by another wary party.

They challenge you in Smolder tongue, that nasally and harsh speak.

Taken aback you try to remember the words that Akabaron had told you so long ago... “Je reap chakuen ojur des lan vize des driens.”

The Smolder snorts, flame bursting from their nostrils, the clash of metal on metal beating now inside your head. He says something in smolder and you get the feeling that he's asking who you came for. “Vi-Smohkan Akabaron.”

Nodding, he leads you through the work. The area's a complete construction zone with countless Smolder participating in this project. You can feel the hope welling within so many of them, as well as the gnawing hunger that pains them deep down. So many of them are gaunt, in scraps or even entirely naked. Their ribs cling to their skin, emaciated bellies despite strong arms. These are the ones that work the hardest, that believe the most in what they're doing.

It's troubling actually. Being able to feel these things. These people have a hope for the future.

They're different from Kahkori that are so well developed, minding more trivial things, or even the Araraki that are all unified by a singular belief. These are a desperate people.

If this fails, if they can't do this to help themselves... Then they're broken.
So much is staked on this.

Wait, what. What's happened.
>>
You meet Akabaron within a tent. He still wears his armor, visor down. You hear him take a single snort of air and turns his head, saying something in Smolder tongue.

“I had told you they would be arriving soon.” Nala says, standing near, bearing no helm, yet wearing her green-scaled armor.

“Indeed.” He says something and the Smolder that brought you here leaves quickly after a salute.

Akabaron stands firm. There's no chair in this tent and you can feel the fatigue within his fierce armor. “Your impatience has cost us. Hao will learn of our work before it is ready.”

Do you expect ANYONE, not just Ceru, to just stand there and accept that? The Smolders got into that situation from their own stupidity, let them come up with their own solution to get out or die trying. But if that involves using us, or our stuff without permission, then it becomes personal. I'd like to see him come up to the Dome and beg on his knees in front of Gionvanni and the leaders to 'please spare some tech for my poor, stupid brutish people'

>>33639531

Yes. Annoyance is acceptable, but Ceru's pretty receptive to the plight of the people on these islands. It doesn't take much to be understanding of what these people are prepared to do to save their nations, especially after witnessing how desperate they all are. Akabaron isn't even directly betraying us nor have we been given the notion that he's planned to stop helping us get home.

sorry, I'm failing a bit at being coherent.

What Akabaron did is not enough to make him our enemy. It WAS enough to make any sort of cooperation very difficult, when he can and will inconvenience us for the sake of his people. He doesn't trust us, nor is he willing to get into our good graces.

Akabaron failed to make the ship in time, and now war could erupt. What the hell are we supposed to entrust him with?

When I say it's similar with Seralana, I mean that the same arguements can be levelled at her, it's just that nobody seems to want to do that. She SORTA earned Ceru's trust with the assassination thing, but there is no reason for anyone else in the group to trust her aside from Ceru's word.

He wasn't even supposed to be making a ship. He was supposed to working on a way for ships to get across the ocean, which he supposedly was going to do with Repel. WE were supposed to be supplying a ship in the deal, and we practically succeeded at that task, even if it is just a work in progress right now.

Really if not for him changing the plan and going off on his own our visit here would be nothing but good news for everyone.

“I'm sorry.” You bow your head before the tired old Smolder. “You were taking a long time with no word.” You raise your head and look up at Akabaron as he looks down on you. His eyes like gentle red coals through the visor of his helm, one near dead and the other quite alive.

“It is forgiven. I am sorry if I come off as a cranky old fool. I have heard as much from the other Vi-Smohkans. If I were still feeling as spry in my younger days...” He shakes his head, a subtle, bitter laugh, “I'd be the Grand Smohkan.”
“Where is Yasake now?”

“What are you going to do?” Marine butts in, “Yasake said that this could start a war.

“We don't want you going to war. If you hurt Yasake-” You says, lowering your eyes.

“I will turn myself in if I must.” Akabaron says, closing his eyes in contemplation.

Nala leans to him, her eyes filling with surprise,” Vi-Smohkan, you can't! If you do-”

“If we kill Hao's favorite pet, it will mean the wrath of the empire upon us. If I can buy enough time for the Arc to be completed, or at the very least make my case known, then I'll happily lose my head.” Akabaron sighs heavily, “One less hungry mouth to feed. For the good of us all.”

>I don't think Hao would want that either. He told me before that he already suspected the Smolder would discover how to make their own ships one day. If you were imprisoned or killed, then who knows how the knowledge of these ships would be used.

I've got a suggestion. Under the premise that Hao doesn't want to start a war, and with Akabaron's trust in us saying Hao doesn't want a war either, we can have Yasake bring Akabaron in, but not as a "prisoner". Just have him simply travel back to the mainland. Don't do anything that would alert or trouble the Smolders. Then Akabaron could simply speak with Hao then.

The important thing here is to not make a big deal of Akabaron sailing back to the city.

Delay it even.

Have the Kahkori ship and crew sail back, but leave Yasake behind, so that if Yasake doesn't return within a set number of days, they could be told to warn Hao about some sort of rebellion. This way, Akabaron can make his own way back to the city (how do the Smolder even get ships to go to their island to sail them out?) with us (and Yasake) on board without alarming the Smolder population.

Hao and the Araraki are hoping to get help from the Dome in transporting the races out from these islands.

The Smolder are trying to build their own ships.

Even if the Kahkori were willing to trust the Smolder to not use it for war, they hypothetically may not want the Smolder to leave on their own because it would leave them vulnerable to another war with the Araraki. So it would be great if the Kahkori and Smolder could cooperate to leave the islands together, but...as for how likely this is, we'd actually need some input from the Kahkori and Smolder leaders we know (Hao, Akabaron) on how likely the other leaders in their races (or, for that matter, their people) are willing to cooperate to that extent.

>>33640692

Uh, the Araraki either want to find a place for their own out in the greater continent or have both the Kahkori and Smolder leave the islands.

The Smolder want to leave the islands because they don't want to live in dependance of the Kahkori.

The Kahkori just don't want a war to happen, although presumably, they may also wish to leave these islands. Expand their empire and whatnot. I'd watch out for that happening.
>>
>>33640848
The only ones the tech matters to are the Smolders. The Araraki and Kahkori think the tech is what cause the first end of the world. So they will never use it. And without it they are NOT a threat to anyone.
>>
>>33640923
No, only the Araraki believe that the technology caused the end of the world.

>They do not dabble in technology as we do. They believe it to interfere with the land, and some nonsense of aura or spirit.
Although the Kahkori in general don't use it either.

But neither of that matters in terms of them willing to board a boat made from advanced technology. Remember, the Araraki Elders were actually quite receptive to having the Dome help them leave these islands. They just don't want to LIVE with the technology afterward.
>>
>>33640848
The two races that will be the easieist to evac are the smolders and Araraki. Both of them have low population due to being marginalized on terrible land. The Smolders WANT out.

Also:
>The Araraki either want to leave these islands or have BOTH the Kahkori and Smolder leave.
Like i said 5 posts ago. We land the ships on the shore, the ararki pile out, and wander of into the wild blue yonder. They NEVER have to see us again. So we CAN get both races to leave these islands.

Here's the thing, Celebi personally intervened to save us.

That makes me wonder if Celebi's problem is the Araraki being around races that don't value nature, or the Araraki just being dicks to people who don't believe what they believe.

>>
>>33641154
First, we need to know what exactly they'll be using to make a ship that's capable of traveling on an ocean without the use of waves.

>He snaps back out of memory,”As for why I've told you this, it is to explain: Kahkori are the ship-makers. They have the wood to float, not Smolders. However it is we that may have the technology to cross the ocean outside the flow of the currents.”

If they could find a way to easily reproduce that tech, then there's no worry. The problem is on how trustworthy the Smolder in general are to the Kahkori.

“I can't let you do that.” The words come out on their own. Even if you feel wronged, even if he's not been the most trustworthy. His conviction radiates off of him. “I'll talk to Yasake. Hao doesn't want war, and you don't want war, There's got to be a way to work this out. Please, just let me do this, okay?”

Akabaron stares at you with his one good eye, slowly nodding, “If you believe that you can convince him, then you are welcome to try. Know though that I come willingly if my presence is required. I have no wish to aggravate the situation by resisting... I will also return your equipment, though I'll admit that we put some force into taking it apart... We succeeded in creating a prototype of what you'd shown me before.”

Your eyes widen,” You... actually did it?”

Another nod by him, yes. We found that we had some of the metals used in its making. We replicated it, then estimated the scale and so forth. The engineers I found were fascinated by your tools, yet I made it clear that if they made them cease functioning, I'd flay their hides.” A low laugh echoes out from the comfort of his helm,” Seemed it was almost enough motivation.”
He turns to leave, “Go then. I will recover your possessions.”

Departing, you find your way back out to the far reaches of the tin and rust housing outside of what passes for a city.

Yasake's the one that finds you, not the other way around. “So? What did he say?”

“He doesn't want war. He wants to leave in peace. He's willing to come with you if you ask. No resisting.”

Yasake stares at you for a moment at that. “Good. No resisting. We'll take him in then-”

Just tell the smolder that the mainland has all the food in the universe with NO oceans and they will hop on those boats out faster than sailor dick at a brothel.
>>
>>33641347
well, the mainland is actually japan, so there's still oceans
>>
“Wait!” Marine yells at Yasake, giving him pause. He stares at her incredulously. “Wait. You shouldn't take him. He's just doing what's right for his people. If yo take him, they're gonna be mad, you know? What's wrong with building a big boat? Let them leave!”

Yasake's pleasantries subside, the pleasure dripping from his cloaked face, “If we do not halt them, all the balance that we've accomplished will be ruined. Kahkori and Araraki will die becausee of this. Even if this is not a warship, what of the other islands? How do we not know that they're not building ships to escort this behemoth?” He gestures to the yard in the distance.
“Should they land upon Raguna or any Kahkori island they could burn it all down. They must be kept to smolder rather than be allowed to catch onto anything.”

“You need to let him go. It'll just make them more mad!”

“If I don't they'll have a leader to initiate the attack.” Yasake returns.

“Akabaron is tired...” You say, thinking of the way his spirit felt back in that foreman quarter. “How about we leave, and he comes to Hao on the next boat? Could that work? Hao wouldn't want a war started without his word, right?”

Yasake locks up, staring at you hard.

“What should we do, sir?” One of the guards asks, awaiting orders.

“We withdraw- for now. Akabaron had better have a good explanation for this... Do you have any more business here?”

>[] I'd like to learn more about them.
Well, it's why we came in the first place.
>>
>>33641360
Really I'd say there best bet would be the gap between Kanto and Sinnoh, or Johto and Hoenn.

Can't be a lot going on in between those areas.
>>
>>33641363
>[X] I'd like to learn more about them.
>>
>>33641363
>[] Just need to pick up something.
>[] I'd like to learn more about them.
Both of those. We're here to pick up something, AND we are here to secure their help in building our own boat. Remember that part?
>>
>>33641363
We would like to learn a bit more about how they live, but that might not be a tenable option.
>>
>>33641363
>[] I'd like to learn more about them.

>>33641412
Well, we're picking it up anyway, but mentioning that we're picking it up might be bad?
>>
>>33641433
well, whatever then.
>>
>>33641363
Ok so the Smolders can build the ships AND have the tech to make it. SO i think that i can safely say Asking the Dome for help is no longer necessary. At least i hope.
>>
>>33641363
>>[] I'd like to learn more about them.

>>33641433 is right.
>>
>>33639824
Anon you do realize that these people are literally our only way to get home right? Without their help, (ie if they are mired in a fucking war) we are stuck here for years on end, probably even dying if war breaks out.
>>
>>33641363
>[] Just need to pick up something.

We stayed with the Araraki for a while, I feel like we should get a better look at how these people live.
>>
>tfw Ceru has more empathy than some of her players.
>>
>>33641864
Its /tg/, a place full of anti-social, psychotic, losers and no-lifes myself DEFINITELY included. What did you expect?
>>
>>33641864
Well, the fact that she feels this much empathy is because most of us here actually care to help. It's horrifying how extreme the guys who want to fuck off are, though.
>>
>>33641908
Look i may not want to go back to the Dome but i do want to solve this problem before it turns into a war.
>>
You tell Yasake that you have mind to stay for a time, to learn more about them like you did with the Araraki.
Without much left to protest he warns you that you'll without a doubt go hungry, and the next ship for food isn't due for at least a week.

You let him know that it's fine. That's something that you can just deal with.

Akabaron is surprised by your decision, yet nonetheless seems relieved that Yasake relented.

“I will return with you and speak to Hao. My silence has gone on long enough.”

It's from here that you reclaim your gear and settle in for the week. With Akabaron's approval you gain a rough understanding of Smolder firearms and how to operate some of their fancier devices such as mines, and grenades. They know to mix certain distilled chemicals together to create such explosive effects.

You take some walks through the outskirts, under guard with Marine at your side. Part of you feels bad, acting as a tourist and observing the sick and starving. But likewise, it's a sobering experience. It puts things into perspective. Marine shares some of her food, treating them all so kindly.

“It's like this in some parts of Pewter too. Silph doesn't do anything about it and no one understands why.”

You feel that it's terrible, yet you don't say anything. Marine already has too many reasons to stay as it is...

Akabaron teaches you proper form for firing, gun or no gun.
>Gunner Skill acquired!

Marine finds a bit of her feminine side and assists mostly with distributing food to the infirm... It actually kind of surprises you...

The week ends and you hear word of another ship coming into port soon. With ash-coated lungs you return to Raguna with Akabaron in tow, production on their Arc going smoothly...

>>33641965
what's the rough estimate for the time skip now prof?

thanks for running and good luck with that family thing
>>
>>33641965
yeah the ash here kind of sucks.
You go, marine. I want to talk to you at some point about maybe you getting to come back here later on. You know, as a diplomat guard or cultural expert or something. Assuming dome stuff goes well.
>>
>>33641965
Marine, We WILL help these people. If we can we shall save everyone on these island.

>“It's like this in some parts of Pewter too. Silph doesn't do anything about it and no one understands why.”

Silph Co. We HATE everyone we pretend to serve so openly it isnt even funny.
>>
>>33642028
It's obvious Silph Co. is the generic business entity, but right now, we're neither just pretending to serve them or hate them. You're just projecting too much, so don't get ahead of yourself.
>>
>>33642028
I don't, uh, hate sylph co that much actually.

They seem to be fairly normal business types, and they're willing to do most anything (including working with monsters, I bet) to make cash.
>>
>>33641965
Dude. What happened to kurojo? Is he just hanging, without learning antthing or getting character development?
>>
>>33642105

NPCs can do stuff while not in the foreground anon
>>
>>33641965
>>33642105
Kurojo went with us to the Ararakian Wastes. Did he comes with us to Smelda too?
>>
>>33642105
yeah, we were supposed to talk to him, I thought.
>>
>>33642028
They prob doing it to get a fresh supply volunteers for rangers that aren't clones i guess
>>
Which reminds me, wasn't it stated that SIlph Co. is essentially the government? Or am I remembering wrong?
>>
>>33642105
Back in Raguna. Didn't come for this one.
>>
>>33642139
Yeah, they're essentially the government for Kanto.

For Johto, it's Team Magma and Team Aqua, I think.
>>
>>33642066
The second bit was supposed to be a mock tag line in the advert.

Also considering that the Smolders can just build EVERYTHING we will need for this trip, especially if the get the other races invested, we (THANKFULLY) will not need to involve the Dome.

>>33642083
Anon, you forget. They are the ones who run the government, they keep the repel grid up, they run the jobs, they own the capital and land. You would think that they want to keep all of their people placated.

But no they encourage the festering slums of Pewter. Just because they HATE you sooooo much and so openly it isnt even funny.
>>
>>33642139
Nah, it's basically the gov.

Monopoly gov of one of humanity(pure human's) last bastions.
>>
>>33642158
Always gotta be slums so that everyone can have someone lesser to compare themselves against.
>>
>>33642154
You mean Hoenn?

>>33642159
So it's a corporatocracy of sorts? Interesting.

Do they have Johto under their grip as well?
>>
>>33642158
You seem kind of like an extremist of some sort. And crazy.

There's not any evidence for any kind of sylph plot to make slums. That's retarded for everyone on all sides. It's probably just simple resource tightness and misallocation.

Like how these things usually turn out to be.
>>
>>33642184
"Look on the bright side. you may be slaves to your jobs and we can and will kill your family on a moments notice, BUT you dont live in pewter", says the Silph floor boss to his employees in the annual meeting.

Why the fuck do we want to back again? To protect this shit?
>>
>>33642209
Oh, yes, that's right, Hoenn.
>>
Hoo boy, that anti-dome junta guy is back.
>>
>>33642241
Ive been here all thread.
>>
>>33642241
Every post that uses excessive caps lock and exclamation points is Conspiracy Anon. He's easy to pick out.
>>
>>33642219
Well, for one, it's because we're not extremists like you who keep misrepresenting everything. This is why people are annoyed with you; because you keep making wild statements.

>>33642241
He's already been here. You should be able to guess who.
>>
>>33642260
Yeah. He's done more to hurt the "I don't want to go back" side than anything else.
>>
>>33641965
Are you going to edit the pastebin with the Energy Ball and Gunner and other things we've acquired or am I going to have to do it for you?
>>
>>33641965
So, we'll be getting new equipment aside from the harpoon launcher, right?
>>
>>33642286
Do it, he still has to make the powerchart for espers and aura
>>
>>33642264
Nah im pretty certain that the whole, hidden past plot hook did that far better than i ever could have. As much as i like the idea of HIGH ADVENTURE in a post-apoc Pokeworld, I've long been outvoted. So at this point it doesn't matter what i say.
>>
>>33642209
Maybe Ygg's telling Hickory about Johto dome and they're leaving it as a surprise for us?
>>
$20 says Hemlock put a killswitch in us when he did our implant surgery.
>>
I miss the smut
>>
>>33642347
While in the games Johto and Kanto are so interconnected that they have the same pokemon league and railway services, in this world there was an apocalypse. So they probably havent been in real contact from hundreds of years by this point. Hell people are warned away from mount Silver because Red is still alive somehow. So yeah who know what we will find up there.

>>33642371
I highly doubt that. And im the Conspiracy Anon. After all kill switches require lots of extra shit to be put into a body that could break at any time that isnt when the kill-word or whatever is used. Its too risky to use on rangers to keep them in line. Thats why they use brainwashing instead. Much more simple and clean.
>>
>>33642371
I would be dissapointed if they gave us a killswitch and no skullgun
>>
>>33642486
Skullgun?
>>
>>33642863
A gun in your skull.
Though a mouthgun is pretty close.
>>
>>33642430
Dude.

Not only is that not true, fucking Lilac knew that Johto had a Ghost gym leader, and wanted to visit there.
>>
I always hated Dude guy.
