You approach the Original Life Fiber's body, and hold out the Heirloom to what you assume is the front. It opens, and several threads extend from it, snatching the ball of yarn from your hand. The massive entity changes color, from orange to white. This must be what it really looks like.

It approaches the satellite, and makes contact with the receiver. It does not utter any words you can hear. It probably doesn't have to. A wave of energy spreads from the satellite, and across the entire planet.

The red cocoon covering the Earth's surface begins to dissolve, as individual, small cocoons begin to descend back to the ground.

"It is done.", the Original Life Fiber addresses you. "Thank you for... trusting us."

Though you're not sure if it has eyes to see it, you smile. "Same to you. Let's go home."

Everyone looks at the light, not sure what to expect. It's growing rapidly. Before you notice, the source of the white light is looming in front of the Naked Sun. It's a familiar shape. The people around you are all but panicking.

"The Original Life Fiber!", you say.

"But... it's white?", Iori notes.

"If it's here, does that mean... they've failed?", Mikisugi asks.

A voice sounds off from the direction of the huge ball of thread.

"Before you start drawing conclusions like that, you should probably look at the sky again!"

You're pretty sure you've never heard this voice, and yet it sounds oddly familiar. Regardless, you look at the sky. It's dark blue, with a sunrise slowly approaching. The Life Fibers are not there anymore. Suddenly, a face obscures your view, looking at you from above.

"Hey."

You jump back in surprise, as does everyone else around you. A young, white-haired woman stands before you, scanning her surroundings with her red eyes. Her face, the eyebrows... she looks familiar, but at the same time she doesn't. There is a certain majestic air to her.

As everybody else is too stunned to say anything, you opt to break the silence.

"W-who are you?", you ask.

She sighs, as if tired of hearing the question. She is smiling, however.

"You see, when two sisters, resigned to their fate, love each other very much... no, that probably only works in my case."

Tsumugu pushes his way through the crowd, and slowly approaches her in disbelief.

Kinue merely walks up to him, and embraces him, without a word.

His face turns as red as his mohawk. Turns out, he's not as tough when his big sister is around.

As you relay to everyone what happened up in orbit, you notice something is off. Nobody approaches you, or makes any kind of physical contact. Normally, Nui, Nonon, or Mako would be hugging you by now. It feels as if there's some kind of invisible barrier between you and everyone else.

Having finished most of your explanation, you walk off to the side to think. Do they see you differently than they did before? You're a completely new person, true, but you're a combination of two people they know well. Then, why?

There is yet another thing you and Satsuki need to do today. Talking to your parents, Ragyou and Souichirou. You can't say you're thrilled.

"Understood." It sets the two cocoons down in front of you. "We will meet again."

The Original Life FIber slowly starts to take off. You turn your attention to the cocoons, which open to reveal your parents. The fact Ragyou now has black hair and blue eyes still creeps you out. It does make sense, though. She is your mother, after all.

"I see you're back to normal, girls.", Ragyou remarks. "So, you want to talk to us?"

Satsuki nods. "We do."

"We don't want your apologies or anything, though.", you say. "We're not going to accept them, anyway."

"What do you want to talk about, then?", Souichirou asks.

You know OP, I wanted Ragyo to be tortured and all of that, and though I didn't get it, you still managed to handle her demise in a way that was quite satisfying to me.

She finally repents for her past sins, is forgiven by her daughters, and then mercilessly killed by the very thing she'd been using to inflict suffering on others.

For her to just get a happy ending like that would have left a bad taste in my mouth, personally.

I agree I honestly feel the best possible outcome for her would be something like what happened to Londo Mollari in Babylon 5: She's able to at least redeam her "soul" I guesse you could say and become something of a good person eventually, but this "redemption", still doesn't spare her from the terrible consequences of the evil choices she made previously. Essentially she still suffers from the karma of her actions but is still able to achieve a sort of personal salvation at least.

That may be a story for another quest though.

The two of you continue walking, while Ragyou and Souichirou are still standing there, at a complete loss.

You both stop again, and glance back at them.

"Are you coming?"

As for the main story, that would be all. Now, there's still the epilogue to be taken care of.
