"C'mon, Luciana..." you mumble. "That's enough, I can't mmmghmh"

Spitting the pillow out of your mouth and then chucking it across the room, you frantically scramble to get yourself upright.

In your bed.

"...oh," you sigh, slightly embarrassed with yourself as you come to the realization that you were just dreaming.

You were lying on Luciana's lap as she fed you her delicious cinnamon buns... but then she started feeding them to you more and more until she was basically shoving them into your face, you guess that the shock from her nearly suffocating you with them is what caused you to wake up. And then you realize that you'd just been chewing on your pillow like some kind of spaz.

That's just great.

With a sigh, you hop out of your bed and walk over to where your pillow landed. After tossing it back on your bed, you make your way to the bathroom, where you do the usual morning hygiene routine.

Once you're all dressed in your regular non-bodyguard-type clothing, you fasten your sword to your belt and had out into the hallway to start the day.

It's still pretty early, so chances that most of your friends are still asleep... that weird dream woke you up even earlier than your usual crack-of-dawn waking time, after all. But Niklaus is kind of a busybody so chances are that he's probably up now, right?

And if he isn't up, you can just go ahead and do something else.

With that in mind, you make your way down the nearest stairwell, stopping on the main floor of the castle and then greeting occasional maid that isn't too spooked by your presence along the way.

Wasting no time stopping at the door to Niklaus's study, you stroll on in just like always, passing by all the bookcases, pickled bear cubs and other oddities that decorate this place until you finally reach the table where you usually see him.

...and he's actually right out in the open for once!

Looks like he's poking at some kind of crystal... he doesn't seem to notice you standing there.

"Hey, Niklaus," you say as you wave to him.

But you don't get a response... or any acknowledgement at all. Instead, he picks up the crystal from off the table and mumbles some kind of spell under his breath that causes some kind of rainbow-colored stream to materialize around him. You watch on as it flows towards and through the crystal.

As he watches this happen, Niklaus simply nods to himself.

"Um... good morning?" you say again.
"Yes, yes, the sun is in the sky. I know that," Niklaus replies. "Do be quiet for a bit, okay? I'm busy testing this out."

And so, you patiently stand off to the side while you watch Niklaus play around with rainbow auras and crystals while writing something down every few seconds. You have no idea what importance this has to anything, but he seems to be pretty engrossed with his work so you do your best not to get in the way.

After a while, the aura fades and Niklaus sets down the crystal.

"Alright, that's that," Niklaus says as he scribbles something down on a notepad. "Now did you want something?"

Wouldn't that be amazing!?"
