In a World of Darkness and Light, Monsters and Men, Dragons and Gryphons, Witches and Mages, Heroes and Legends, Kingdoms and Empire's, there is much strife and war. Peace in all four corners of the world is a very rare thing of beauty. Kings and Emperors are fighting for power and land on both battlefields and at court. However, you're not part of this struggle for power, not yet. For reasons unknown you don't remember your life as a human nor the torture you went through to become what you are today; A twisted being of dark magic, your body has been mutilated and corrupted beyond its limits. However, like many dark beings before you, you've been chained by the power that rules behind the scenes of politics and war in this world; The Holy Church.

Created by darkness and leashed by the light, you're a monster under the Church's will. You are an Inquisitor, the last of its kind. Once a man, twisted by magic, you now serve the Church as a hunter or a judge against monsters, witches, renegade mages and all the evil that oppose the holy order.

You heard a faint scream from a woman in the distance. Your eyes were closed and you couldn't get them to open. You tried to call out to her, but no sound came out. You tried to rise up, but your body refused to listen. The scream faded away, slowly, and you were left in the darkness of your own mind, contemplating who the woman was and why she screamed. It feels as if hours, days, weeks, months and years pass by as you continue to remain trapped in your own mind. Your body continues to stay still, your eyes remain shut and your voice has been stolen. What kind of life is this? What is your purpose? Why are you here? You've asked yourself this countless times now and never have you received an answer from the darkness around you. Then, as all hope slowly starts to burn away, you feel someone helping you up, or rather, you feel several people supporting your body. You don't know how to react to this sudden movement, but you open your eyes and are met with a bright light that you slowly get accustomed to. You're in a room covered in red and white colours in both the small banners and the carpets you stand upon. In front of you, there's an Elf with very long hair and young features.

“Where are you?”, the elf questions you and your eyes lock. You don't know how, but you know this answer. In a vain attempt to speak you succeed in uttering, “The Eastern Kingdom.”, and the realization that your voice has returned is comforting. The Elf nods, but continues to stare at you, unfazed.
>>
>>33673466

“What are you?”, he continues. You stop for a second. What are you? Aren't you a human? Judging by the mixed looks of disgust, shock and awe amidst the crowding elves around the room, you're unsure. You shake your head and the Elf before you sighs, “You're an Inquisitor.”, and you swallow hard with your eyes growing wide in surprise. An Inquisitor? No, that can't be. Looking about, you finally notice that one of the female elves are holding onto a small mirror. With a quick leap, you grab the mirror, earning yourself several screams and gasps from the elves. Aside from the pointy ears that was not there before and nothing sown over your mouth, you look exactly like he does... The yellow reptile eyes, two holes for a nose, no hair and an abundance of scars, both regular ones and corrupt ones. “Who are you?”, the elf asks to catch your attention again.

“Benjamin.”, you answer him, looking around. The elves are stunned and fear is glowing in most of their eyes.

Your memories returns to you in flashes; Autumn, the Inquisitor, the elf girl, Theresa, your journey from Oaksberry, the Hinterlands, the Iron Kingdom, the Eastern Kingdom, the Elvish gardens, the spiritual library, the Holy scrolls, Austec Oakheart! The cut that ended your life and Autumns scream...

"No one." you answer in defiance to the Elf's question. There is a heavy and dead silence brooding in the room. Some of the armed elves grip the hilt of their sheathed swords, even though you're unarmed. From the looks of it, you've become an Inquisitor, but how it happened is an even greater question than how you're supposed to get out from here and back to the Imperium in time to warn them without the Inquisitors help.

From behind, you hear someone mumble a word and pain erupts throughout your body; you fall to all four, struggling to look up at the elf courching in front of you. He's not showing any emotions in his stale facial expression.

"No one.", you mutter in resistance, trying to rise up on the spot. The pain leaps through your body and it increases every time you move. In the end, you fall back to one knee, almost out of breath. "No, never!", you hear yourself thinking as you continue to try and rise up. The pain is overwhelming and you fall down to one knee every time. The elves around you seem to be enjoying the display of vain resistance. You weren't going to let them win. Not like last time. Never again. It didn't matter what they've done to you, not now. All that mattered now was your resistance against these horrible creatures.

"It won't matter how many times you try; Austec assured us that the pain neutralizes your kind. Give in to it.", the elf crouching before you whispers. His voice is carried over the whispers from the other elves watching you with glee. You didn't have time for this; You had to warn the Imperium, the Order, and you had to know what happened to your friends!

Your past attempts have resulted in failures, letting the pain wash over you, bringing you further towards bowing down on all four again. Every time you try to get up, you've heard an elf say something behind you. He must be the one using a spell to cause you all this pain; to chain you.

"Maker...", you start to whisper, forcing yourself to move again, "...I kneel before your grace in this prayer.", the pain is constant, but you've made it up to one knee again. The whispers in the room has stopped and the crouching elf has risen, looking down at you.

"By all that is just, I've sworn to serve as your champion. By all that is right, I've swrong to protect the weak, " The pain fades slightly, but you can hear the elf behind you mutter the word more and more often as you continue to rise slowly to two feet, "By your word and grace, I stand as the light in the dark.", The elf who questioned you before is stunned and his mouth open in shock. With steady, but slow, footsteps you turn around to face the elf behind you.

"I stand in the dark, your grace, my Maker; Grant me your strength!", you scream out as you smash your fist into the face of the elf, breaking bones and teeth. The pain disappears instantly as the dead elf flies to the ground, his face demolished. Screams and shouts immediately erupt in the room as the elves try to get out. You've unsheated the sword from the elf you killed and across the room you see the familiar elf guarded by armed kinsmen. They won't stop you.

For the first time, you feel the incredible strength and reflexes of an Inquisitor flowing through your body while you cut a bloody path through the armed elves. When you're done the room is wet with blood and limbs litter the floor. The last elf, the one who questioned you, is on his knees, begging for mercy.

"Where are they?!", you can't control your voice when it bursts out in an angry dark metallic tone. It sounds almost like you're talking with the Inquisitors voice, which will serve as an amusement later, but not now. The elf remains quiet, but is visible shaking in fear. He's sitting in the bloodbath of his kinsmen, surrounded by their torn up bodies. You repeat the question, but the elf only continues to shake and look about in silence.

You don't have time for this; with a quick grab, you get ahold of the elf's arm and twists the hand till it snaps and he screams. You then cruch it in your own hand, sending him back to the floor. He's whimpering loudly and crying openly while caring for crippled hand. He's still shaking violently.

"Where are they?!", your question gets his attention, but instead of looking straight at you, he stares at the body by your feet, "T-the other Inquisitor i-is in Aelvii a-and the filthy hu--", he quickly interrupts himself when he notice your hands clenching into fists, "The human was ported back to a town in the Imperium, unharmed and untouched. I don't know what happened to the elf or the spirit in your company. Please! This is all I know! Please, let me go! My love is waiting for me at home! I begging you, show me mercy!', the elf finally pleads, bowing to you in the nearby pool of blood.

"You shall live.", in the end you're not about to forsake the teachings of your lord, the Maker, even after what you've become. The Inquisitor might not remember his former self, but you still do and you're not about to lose yourself in the dark. The elf cries, both from pain and gratitude as he thanks you between his gasps. You turn about to leave, but stop at the open door, facing the elf again who's staring back at you,

"You will tell your king that The Maker's Judgement is coming.", with a voice grim and true the order is clear to the elf who nods slowly. You leave the room in silence after your last words.

It looks like you were held in the basement of one of the smaller buildings in the capital. After making your way out to the street, you find it empty and dead. All the citizens have cleared out from this are and it's just a matter of time before the city guard will arrive to the scene!

"What would the Inquisitor do?", you think, looking about for an answer.

Fleeing the city is your priority, but since you don't know how to activate your speed, you'd never make it to the Imperial Capital in time. The library crosses your mind and you not not only remember the leather bound book about holy scrolls, but also that the Inquisitor used rune magic when he teleported around! If any place would have a book about that sort of magic, it'd be the Spiritual library. In the distance there's shouts coming from the approaching guards. No point wasting time fighting them head on. Instead, you dart in between the houses and leap between the small alleyway's between the houses and streets, avoiding unecessary attention as much as possible.

The directions to the library is still fresh in your mind and after a short moment the stairs with the lions and the large oak gates stand before you. The stairs prove no challenge for you, but the door is not so easily budged. Eventually you push it open enough to slip through. However, before you get through you hear a scream behind you. Guards will be here momentarily! You need to find the books!

With little time to spare, you tear through the books on the shelves, throwing out the ones that are no good to you; 'The magical studies on races'; 'Nature's call'; 'The iron will of Dwarves'; 'Silmarillion', amongst other books. They might be excellent reading materials at some point, but with the elvish guards after you, there's no point to burden yourself with more than two books. The leather bound book is found after a short search, but there's no sign of a one about rune magic! This is the time you'd normally panic, but you're strangely calm for unknown reasons.

And there it is! 'Rune magic and how to wield it.'! Grabbing it from the shelf, you suddenly hear the door downstairs break open and several voices shouting out, calling out for you and your immediate surrender. Not going to happen.

With quick leaps, you dash up the stairs as quickly as you think you can and eventually you reach the top floor, right beneath the rainbow coloured glass roof. The shouts from downstairs are getting closer! The book on Rune magic is placed on the floor and you start to flip through it, searching for teleportation spells and how to decide where to go with it. You find the basics about the spell, but not how to pick a spot. The guards will soon be upon you! There's at least 20 different rushing footsteps coming from down the stairs. You don't think you can take them all on at once. Maybe the Inquisitor could, but not you.

No. For too long you've been forced to play by their rules and failed when you needed to prove yourself; You hesitated and couldn't kill the Orks close to Oaksberry; you were captured in Riverhill and failed to protect Autumn; When the elf king made your friend choose who to live and die, you couldn't save everyone. You were powerless. Almost every time, the Inquisitor has saved you and Autumn. The right time to change has come.

The guards finally arrive to the top floor and all twenty of them form a ring around you, their swords and maces drawn with shields at the ready, "Stand down, dark one!", the elf with a silver plated helmet with wings on each side shouts to you. He's the only one with such a helmet; he's the captain. "Surrender and you shall be treated with the out--"

"No.", your interruption is followed by a leap at the Captain. You don't know how, but you used the inhumane speed known to be one of the Inquisitors traits. Your elvish sword penetrates his abdomen and he lets out a scream before falling limp to the floor. You can't control your body anymore; The enemy guards rush in at you, but without hesitation and with inhumane reflexes, speed and strength, you parry the attacks, slash, thrust, cut and stab every elf that leaves an opening after your parry. It's like you are dancing around in a flurry of steel, blood, pain and screams. You can't parry all the attacks, but the pain is dull while a full blown dose of adrenaline rushes through your body.

"For the Maker!", you cry out as you slit the throat of the last elf that still dares to fight you. Four elves fleed the scene down the stairs when they realised they were losing. You're proud of yourself, but this is not a moment to stand still and admire your new fighting spirit.

Oh, Theresa, the Spirit. A short version is that Autumn almost revealed her feelings about you to you, Benjamin found out that two of the three stolen holy scrolls might be the split key to be able to use a spell to teleport into the protected Imperial Capital; The Inquisitor and his party met the Elf King; He was forced to pick which one between Benjamin and Autumn that should die after they were captured by the king. He picked Benjamin.

After that he was teleported to the Aelvii Empire, the land of Monsters and traveled to the heart of the Aelvii, spoke with a Void Dark being; a magical creature like himself, but without a physical body; faced the void beings challenge, killed a Centaur, Ork Warlock, disarmed and defeated an Undead Elf before the Inquisitor finally found Austec Oakheart.

That was last thread. This thread is about what happened to Benjamin after he was killed.

You can hear more guards coming up the stair down below. You don't know if you have it in you to face the same amount of guards again, and you are realising you're wounded and bleeding as well. You're not willing to risk getting surrounded again while trying to find out more about this rune magic. Only one way out; Jump.

Crouching down, you take aim as best you can while holding onto the two books under your arms, and then leap up into the air. The crash comes immediately and the glass splinters explode all around you when you break through the roof. The landing is rough because the roof was formed like half a ball. Instead of getting a steady grip with your boots upon landing, you tumble and roll down towards the marble at the end of the glass roof. Fortunately, you land with your feet on this and get a steady foothold, maintaining your balance.

All around you there's only building nearby that's almost certainly too far down to try and get to with a jump. Not without at least breaking some bones. However, once again the Maker smiles upon you as you spot a skytower nearby! That jump would be perfect and you could easily climb down its long neck.

In a short dash and a leap, you slam into the side of the skytower and get ahold of the exterior. The climb down only takes a few minutes. No one has noticed you yet, so you make a break for it! Rushing towards the end of the city, the magical illusion bubble engulfs you and then you're on the other side again! The field of roses that Theresa lead the party out into.
>>
>>33677550

After running for two hours, you find a safe spot behind a tree, concealing your position from the field of roses in the far distance. Hopefully this is enough. Without further ado, you break the book on rune magic open and start to study its elements. It doesn't take long for you to understand more about the teleportation process. You can't teleport to any place but those that are unprotected by magic and you've been there before and seen it with your own eyes.

"Fair enough", the whisper is to yourself. You need to pick a location!

Bjornhold is closer, but it's also flled with Templars, Paladins and the occasional crusader passing through. It would have been your ideal spot to teleport to, but in your current state, that city is out of the question.

All other towns that you've been to when you were traveling to the Sanctuary in the heart of the Imperium with your instructor are too far away. Except maybe Townsferry; Closest to the capital out of all the towns, Not a lot of people living there last time you were there and with little risk, Townsferry becomes your prime choice.

After an extensive amount of tries, you finally make the right runes and hexagons with your sword. You didn't know how hard this was for the Inquisitor till now. Feels sort of nice to share something like that with someone.

You repeat the words from the book before closing it. The runes and hexagon starts to glow. The time has come; You may no longer be a Human, but you haven't lost your fatih to the Maker and your devotion to the Imperium and the order! You will protect the capital and the Sanctuary until your dying breath!

And so, you step through the portal.
