... and friends gained.

The Frog-Men lead us through the swamp, but were my shreep to veer away, I would be near helpless to stop her, so great are my wounds. Surrounded by the scents of familiar beings, she ambles happily 'cross the expanse of the Great Southern Wastes, as the land begins to dry and the clinging green begins to thin.

Were Skednan here, our passage may have progressed more quickly, but the terrible scuttlepede, denied my close presence, had vanished into the Wastes before I returned with the wand of Juliana.

My vision fades and I wake with a start, but ever at my side is the she-crow Vill, renegade of the Crow-People who bound me and brought me to the presence of the witch Shala and her coven. Vill holds my pitchfork at bay, as though she can sense the malicious presence lodged inside it. How I yearn to retrieve it, but the black longsword is too compelling to release, and the wand of Juliana a treasure too valuable to let slip from my grasp for even an instant, for with her last words in this world Juliana's corpse did confide that it had a singular power above a being named Elin.

And of Elin I know nothing, save the name.
>>
The shieldwork Benjamin slips through the drying muck with ease, turning its head and its singular crystal eye back and forth as we pass to a higher ground. What a strange thing it is, that speaks as a man and yet is some strange wonder wrought by the ancient Empire of the Dragon.

But of strange wroughts, none is newer than the curious frog-woman that walks beside, flanked by the Frog-Men who shrepherd her amidst the dangers of the Wastes as she gawks with open awe at the sights around her, seen now for the first time with the mind of man.

I turn my weary gaze upon her, and the thought occurs that if I am a mother, it is to this creature, that I raised from a frog of the swamp with the wand of Juliana. Well do I remember the pain it caused, and so it confounds me to imagine the power Juliana bore to raise an army's worth of the Frog-Men.
>>
"We must be careful. There are Wolves about in these parts, and though they find our flesh sour, they will no doubt seek out yours, my lady," cautions the Frog-Man as he aims his heavy iron axe in front of him.

Wolves - twice now have I been warned of them, first by the Forestmen beyond the mountains and now here. The Forestmen claimed they were men that ate man, and a chill runs up me as I consider how I once thought them a distant excitement, for how sheltered I was those many days ago!

Now I feel only a slow weary terror, for a part of me whispers that sleep eternal would return me to the comfort of my childhood crib, and I know that my time is nearly run out.

Darkness begins to settle in, when a voice rouses me.

Rolled 9

The needle prong writhes and thrashes in my hand as it seeks out the softness of my eye, humming with such anger that I can hardly keep my grasp upon it! The woman's dress is stained and filthy, torn to shreds in places where its unwelcome tenant snagged upon bramble or swordpoint, but its weight is an iron pressing me down!

Before any of the flesh-riders can follow, I duck inside the ancient stone archway, a relic of the Dragon Empire wedded to crude masonry worked by lesser hands, but this building is well made, with an ornate tiling that draws me inward. Adan once taught me that when the gods of old created the world, they gave a gift to each living thing, one by one, until all the gifts were gone. The last of the magical gifts was the fire-breath given to the dragons, but to the humans they gave cleverness.

The gods of old may favor me, but Adan taught me as well the secrets of making bottled fire, that will lie as a snake does until the time is right, and then draw breath and bloom with flame and force.

I hold my breath, so minutely the difference between impotence and explosion...

"Incredible!" Vill marvels, unharmed, for well did Adan school me in the wants of airs, and how they flee from one room to the next. Of the flesh-riders, little remains saved for crisping shells, and the few that still twitch stubbornly soon enough squeal and pop, setting my mind at ease.

And then all is silent save the crackling of fire, and the smoke stings my tired eyes, red from days without sleep.

Thanks, anon! If you want to read more, the official Lego Quest wiki is here:

and if you want to read previous episodes, most of them are archived on suptg:

>>33709287
Ooh, I have a question, how much actual Lego, do you own? And do you write all these events before hand?
>>
>>33709421
I don't have a *lot* of Lego pieces compared to some of the serious collectors on /toy/. I do have a couple hundred minifigs, though, and that makes it easier to tell stories.

As for the stories, I don't plan anything in advance, but I make a bunch of minifigs and props ahead of time that I think might have a chance of showing up. The actual mechanics of whether or not something good or bad happens is usually left to the dice.

Like this kid; he didn't exist until I decided that it would be fun to have something moving around in that treasure chest. It could have been a flesh-rider, it could have been a little kid!

Then I decided it would be a little kid, so I had to quickly assemble a minifig for him. At first he had a plain smile head, but then I saw that I had the face with freckles and a headband.

I think Apprentice Quest is probably my favourite of the Lego Quests, so I had a go at drawing Vill.

Her minifig looks identical to the other Crow People and they're birds, so I tried not to make her look too girly. Just tried to make her look a bit curvy. Added a bit of boob aswell but that might not have been the right thing to do, but eh. I also added some eye lashes because they make her face look a bit more pretty.

neat linework? what's that?

I'd like to give Gazg a go next, then maybe Benjamin and/or some frog people. I'm not all that good at drawing people but I might give some of the human characters a go if I'm feeling brave.

Thank you!

I actually realised that just after posting. It's been a while since we saw another Crow Person so I forgot that most of them have black eyes, but the fact that her eyes are different suddenly clicked when I was reading Gazg's article and got to
>his other is the normal solid black of a mature crow-man.

Was it explained why was she caged up when we first met her?

>>
>>33718714
>Was it explained why was she caged up when we first met her?
Gazg (and the other Crow-People) are obsessed with the supposed genetic superiority of their own race, and Vill was locked up for being "unclean". If you want to know more, you're certainly free to ask her about it.
