You sit at the campsite, recapping the recent events as you watch Cecil play with the kitten while waiting for a kettle of water to heat up for some coffee.

You are the heir of Aaflyn bloodline of mages. Your affinity, flesh, is pulsating all around you in your Sanctuary while the grimoire inherited from the past mages of your line is by your hip, always within your arm’s reach.

Various events have kept you busy lately. You discovered your heritage, met a childhood friend you hadn’t seen in years and found out about another mage, Iwayom, who had been using her as an assassin of some kind, which led you to take her with you and escape into the woods surrounding the city where you established your Sanctuary. Going after someone you knew as the mage’s follower you ended up a suspect on a serial killer case started by your carelessness. After coming up with a plan and being threatened by another mage, you gathered information on the police working on your case just to be interrupted by the deaths of the familiars keeping an eye on Iwayom’s facility.
>>
>>33817326

The familiar you have sent to investigate this gives you interesting information; the area surrounding the facility is mostly destroyed, with craters filling the previously even wasteland, a good chunk of the unused road missing and the few abandoned buildings in the area reduced to rumble. The utility pole your familiars were on is tilted and sunken to the ground while wines have grown on its side. Your familiar can actually see more of these wines among the rubble and reinforcing the facility’s fence that seems to have taken quite a bit of damage.

On the facility grounds you see several people looking around with wands on their hands. One of them actually spotted your investigating bird and almost blasted it, though it managed to avoid the incoming blast of air and got away.

You manage to find one of your dead crows among the rubble some distance away from their previous location and discover that it’s covered in something that resembles burn wounds from something. From the look of things you deduce that either the power line ruptured or something else electrocuted your familiars.

Always while I'm at work.
We had a plan, stick with it and keep surveillance on our foe, need to get some rats to help sneak around there by the looks of it.
>>
To clarify: Dead familiars are not a liability, are they? You mentioned that some wizards had their familiars suicide if they were caught so I assume we can just leave our dead ones lying there.

I'd say we keep a very loose watch on things. Have a familiar nearby, but not close. Close enough to notice a magic battle, but not close enough to be caught up in it. I'd rather miss things than lose more familiars. Other than that:
>Ignore it for now.

What I want to do is find out where some of these police people who have or like animals live, bind their pets when they are not home and bind them through the use of hosts in the night.

Playing and being a domestic yes, I meant mentally through the bond. We are trying to help her be normal right?
Or is she destined to become our familiar-pet, addicted to us and our cock/flesh and declared 'missing' so we keep her forever?

She seemed okay/eager for the 'bad end' latter option.
>>
>>33817842
She's stable; nothing major has changed since the last time you checked her. It's somewhat harder for you to tell all the subtle emotions she goes through all the time compared to the animals but you don't know if it's because she's human or because she's nuts.
Her going on a frenzy is something you'd probably notice, unless you were too occupied with something else.

[X] Not my business.

You have a plan and you plan to stick to it; whatever happened at the facility can wait until the police are not breathing down your neck.

Leaving a servant to observe the station you send one crow harbringer to follow each of the two officers you have identified as pet owners; the older man who seems to have a lot of dogs and one of the married officers as she has a cat.

You take a sip of coffee, your eyes vacant as you focus on the familiar’s senses. Getting two different bird’s eye views of completely different surroundings as the birds fly into different neighborhoods disorients you. By the time you get used to it one of the officers has driven to a yard of a small house with a low chain fence surrounding it, located somewhere in the poorer district. As the older man steps out of the car and heads to the front door of the house you spot some dogs starring out of a window with their snouts pressed against the glass, leaving marks on it. They leave their position as the officer steps into the house and shouts something you don’t catch at this distance.

>Cont.
>>
>>33818610

Meanwhile, the other person you decided to follow has gone to the wealthier district and driven to a large house surrounded by a large fence. You notice a cat you assume to belong to the family sleeping on it without care as the woman enters the large house. Its big windows give you a good look inside and you notice her talking with some other woman who soon leaves the house. You note that the second woman has a considerably cheaper looking car.

The sun is setting, coloring the sky orange.

>So, what do you want to do?

Pets have to leave the house at some point. Have your familiars observe until any pet is alone and in a reachable place. If until night-fall no opportunity has arisen we search for an open window, or one of those animal-doors or other ways into the houses.
>>
>>33818931
I'm reluctant to go anywhere in person. Our familiars should be sufficient to deal with animals and muggles. I do agree that the dogs are a good target and starting with them would be acceptable.
>>
>>33818639
[x] Scout the surrounding better; you need to know everything useful about the areas surrounding both houses.
We need to be more careful.

Also, pork is very similar to human flesh at the genetic and cellular level.
After dominating the police, we can have them find evidence that the flesh they've been finding is actually pork with human blood mixed in, making it look human to tests.
It really was a weird modern art thing.
The federal agencies will buy that excuse and stay out.

There's still the problem of Mariana and Cecil though.
>>
>>33820002
>It really was a weird modern art thing.
This, as an art student, you don't even understand the shit you can get away with by labeling it 'art'
>>
>>33820002
>>33820067
To expand on it, what we'll do is find a pig-farmer, and use a series of Submissions to have him fake inventory logs showing that some hogs that died and that needed to be disposed of were bought up by some guy, cash only. And get a hog or two from him.
We then, using magic, pulp up the hog's body and mix it with some of our blood from flesh-casting.
We then have our Submissioned/Bound police officers "find another Skinner site", and this time, when they do the tests on the cells, find that it's actually pork.
When the evidence needs to all be re-tested, they can then switch out the real evidence for the pork-evidence. Once the labs are told what to look for, they'll find that yes, the bit of evidence they tested before was human, but the new pieces of evidence show that it's really pork mixed with human blood.

Now, we just have to figure out how to deal with the fact that we were at the hospital with Cecil when Mariana was killed.
>>
[X] Further observations.

You have your familiars take rounds around the area surrounding the houses.

The policeman’s house is in the poorer part of town and the houses are relatively small and the streets have a decent amount of movement. The neighborhood is filled with detached houses and doesn’t seem bad. There are few teens loitering around and considerable amount of cars and passers-by passing through it.

The woman’s house is in a wealthier neighborhood that isn’t the richest one around but the people still have fences and intercoms on their yards. Most houses are two stories high with possible security cameras and the streets are not as populated. A random person or two may drive through it every now and again but the neighborhood is out of the way enough that there is no significant amount of movement.

After some time of no significant movement you tell the familiar take a look around the man’s house to see if there are any entrances you can use. A quick round around it shows no visible openings and a peek through a window reveals that the lights are out, signifying that the officer may be asleep already.

As the crow take a closer look around, you notice a small window near the ground level. The house seems to have a cellar and with a bit of work your familiar manages to dislodge the old lock slightly.

>Now?

[] Break the lock and have the crow enter.
[] Get another familiar to the scene. (What?)
[] Leave the lock alone, take a closer look at the other house.
>>
>>33820352
[x] Leave the lock alone, take a closer look at the other house.
We'll bind the two dogs when the cop is away during the day, then when he gets home, we'll Submission and Bind him.

Not sure how to get at the woman, though.
>>
>>33820430
Sure. What do we do the rest of the night? Bind more crows (we did lose a few)? I want a hive mind crow.
>>
>>33820534
Bind more crows, also the woman only has one cat, so that cat will be easier to capture and bind.

Two dogs, though, will raise a hell of a lot of racket, so we can't do it while the man is still in the house.
>>
>>33820352

[X] The other house.

You leave the lock be as you shift your focus to the woman’s house. Your familiar looks around a bit, noting a pet door which you could use. There also seems to be a fireplace in the house, meaning that if you were to open the hatch something small enough could enter or exit the house through the chimney.

As you are inspecting the house, another car drives into the yard. A man around the same age as the officer exits the vehicle and heads for the front door while the cat that was on the fence jumps down to follow after him.

The sun has set and stars fill the sky.

[] Enter one of the houses as a familiar (Which and what kind of?)

>>
>>33821253

[X] Hive of crows.

Leaving the harbringers to observe the houses you sip the now cold coffee before chugging the rest of the drink down.

Your very first familiar had gathered more of birds earlier today and while most of them have already left, you easily bind four crows to form a hive. You find it curious and slightly creepy how they act almost in unison.

Once you are done with that, you move back to the campsite to ease your blood loss with some coffee made to you by Cecil. Moonlight filtered through the barrier colors everything dark red with long shadows of the trees making grotesque shapes in the surroundings.

>What do you want to do?

[] Talk to Cecil. (What do you say and how?)

>>
>>33823240
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that asking her was bad. Probably came out wrong. I still support talking to her, though I suggest a more careful wording than " such a kinky little thing" if you want to stay open to her not actually liking that stuff.
>>
>>33822302

[X] Into the house.

After your harbringer informs you of lack of movement in the house you call a host to the scene and have it slip into the house through the pet-door as you assume direct control.

A quick search through the parts of the house you can access to in your opposable thumb lacking form without making too much noise proves that no one seems so be awake except the cat. It notices you, forcing you to fly onto a kitchen chair to avoid getting jumped on.

>Actions?

[] Try to lure the cat outside and have a harbringer occupy it while you prepare a submission to make it go somewhere where you can bind it.
[] Try to lure the cat somewhere out of the way enough that you can bind it.
[] Personally go to the house and bind it somewhere close to it.

>[] Try to lure the cat outside and have a harbringer occupy it while you prepare a submission to make it go somewhere where you can bind it.
>>
>>33825372
First, we would have to get a breeding pair.
And then, we have to consider how to handle their waste.
And we need to consider how to prevent parasites from being a problem, like fleas and ticks.
>>
>>33826853
Can we make those familiars too?
>>
>>33826953
>Can we make those familiars too?
Parasites?
Kind of hard; remember that we have to remove something from them in order to perform the binding.
Insects don't have many things that can be removed easily without damaging the whole.
>>
>>33827090
You make a good point. I forgot we needed something from them. Still though... if we could get a few hiveminded flees (or other insect) and have them breed and collect pieces from their young and bring those into the hivemind... That would be useful. We could also get around the speed limitations by having crows fly them to places that are too far for conventional travel.
>>
>>33827983
A hiveminded hive of bees would be great, but with the difficulty and time in Binding all of those workers, I don't think it would work.
>>
>>33828047
I feel like what we really need is some kind of mass binding spell. Which likely is possible but we'd need to research it or develop it our self.

Also, bees would definitely be good, if only due to the massive amount of removable hairs to be used in a binding ritual. Though flees actually do seem to have small hairs as well.

Regardless, we need to improve our information gathering network and that means a larger amount of familiars, hiveminded or otherwise.
>>
>>33828153
Getting lots of rats, and making those rats get other rats, would be a fast, if unsavory (due to fleas and diseases that they would carry) way to get lots of Familiars.
>>
>>33828295
Thats true as well. I'm curious though about the fleas and diseases. If they are all under our control it actually shouldn't be difficult to make them clean and bath themselves.
They also do breed rather quickly so it wouldn't be massively difficult to increase their numbers. Additionally if we wanted to purposely use them to spread disease it wouldn't be very difficult.

I just had an image of a bunch of rats carrying off flea medicine. I chuckled.

Regarding Cecil. I'm somewhat worried about creating >pic related but that may be a forgone conclusion.

As for the best way to go about it. On the one hand it might be best to have a 'normal' or at least mentally stable person to bounce ideas off of so we aren't working in an echo chamber. She'll also be more likely as a normal but loyal person to not go insane on people we get close to.
She might also betray us if we get too grimdark and start murdering/torturing innocents like she was/is.

Blood girl Cecil would be useful as well and would be fun. But I feel she has all the same risks as normal but loyal Cecil, but will just tell us what we want to hear and likely go insane on others who might get close to us.

As such I think that going for a loyal but stable Cecil with a fetish for blood sex is the best option.
>>
[X] Cat and bird.

You rush out of the house through the pet-door as the cat follows after you. You take flight as the harbringer lands close to the cat, getting its attention. The bird leads the animal into an alleyway on a different neighborhood and keeps teasing it, giving you the time to set up submission. The most difficult part of this is to keep the mammal in the circle long enough for you to activate it but after some time you do succeed. The order you give it is to go to the outskirts and wait some hours in an abandoned warehouse where you can bind it.

With that done, you end the possession and ride to the city, this time not taking any unnecessary turns. As you arrive to the location, you already see the feline waiting in the middle of the room. With little difficulty you build the circle around the animal and soon you already feel the familiar tug within yourself.

>>
>>33835904
[x] Bind the cat as… Host
We need to be able to cast through the cat.

[x] Have your familiars do something.
Clean up the evidence of the Submission and Binding spells.

Can a Binding be done through a Host Familiar?
Or do we have to be physically present?

If the former, I'm thinking what we'll do is have our Familiars (except the new cat) quietly break in to the cop's house, use Flesh Bolt to silence the dogs, use flesh to hold the cop down, and then bind him as a Servant.
>>
>>33835904
>>33836156
basically this why not
>>
>>33836156
The familiar binding requires your own fresh blood which is why you do have to be present. There is also the issue of having to physically draw the circle which requires really good hand-eye coordination.
>>
>>33836300
So we would have to use Submission on the cop and his dogs to have them come to a secluded place to bind them (because he lives in a high traffic neighborhood and it's less weird for him to go out to a 7-11 for a midnight snack than it is for some weird college-age guy to be entering his house at night).
The same with the woman cop too, then.
>>
>>33836156

>>33836156
Sounds good actually.
The rats and reading can be done later
The police woman can wait while we deal with the policeman with the dogs.
Also considering >>33836300 We should probably just have the cat submission her and have her go to the forest without telling anyone else where we can bind her.
>>
>>33836350
>have her go to the forest without telling anyone else
See, I don't agree with having them just lose a few hours out of their day with no one knowing what they're doing.

Just make up an errand, we'll have the Binding circle already set up, and we'll have the entire thing over in half an hour.

They can say they just needed to go out and get some groceries, or they just wanted to pick up a snack; having them actually do so makes an evidence trail that won't trigger any flags.
>>
>>33836427
Sounds good. As long as they go somewhere secluded obviously.
>>
>>33835904

[X] Disposing of the evidence.

You prepare the second part of the binding to turn the cat into a host while calling your idle familiars to your location in order to dispose of any leftovers. By the time the ritual is finished most of the familiars are already there, ready to consume any evidence left behind. The biggest issue turns out to be the blood as it’s harder to get off of the wooden surfaces but you do manage to wash enough of it off to pass it as graffiti or faded paint. It’s not like anyone visits these places often enough to remember every last detail anyway.

Done with that, the night is coming to an end and you realize not only how tired you’ve gotten, but how long you manage to stay awake before feeling it. You idly wonder if it’s due to magic or the high amounts of caffeine you’ve drunk lately as you tell the cat to return home for now.

>What do you want to do?

[X] Talking.

You set up a small bin and tell some of the familiars to find mice or rats or something along those lines and deposit them there so you can bind them later. For now you return to your Sanctuary for some coffee and a bit of chatting with Cecil.

The trip is rather uneventful and you pass time by admiring the rising sun and moon which is disappearing behind the horizon as it colors the world beautifully orange.

As you arrive to your destination you see Cecil carefully sipping coffee with another cup full of steaming drink by her side. Taking a seat by her and picking up the cup, you pull her a bit closer. “Tell me what you think about the future.”

She thinks for a moment before giving you an answer with a sincere, yet slightly dangerous smile. “I look forward to it.” She nuzzles up against your side before laying her head on your shoulder as you feel her self-control crack a little.

[X] Talking and mass-bindings.

“Not just what you think about it, but what you want from it, besides being with me.” You try to change the topic a bit in an attempt to get her to focus on something that doesn’t involve screams of someone.

You can feel something like confusion or perhaps indecision as she wonders in silence. “…not sure.” She mumbles quietly enough for you to miss the beginning of the sentence. The link to her tells you that something like excitement keeps trying to creep into her mind, but she keeps trying to ignore it.

“You still like anime and figures, right?” You completely switch topic in an attempt to ease her.

She gives you a confused nod with an “Umh”-sound. You can tell the cluster of emotions that had been building up is starting to dissolve as her mannerism grows somewhat stiffer.

You stroke her hair a bit, further calming her down as you pull out the book that makes kissy faces at the two of you, which is rather impressive considering it doesn’t have a mouth at the moment.

It opens at a page further detailing the technical details of the bindings. You find it tiring to read through the extremely dry and detailed text featuring words you don’t know, written few hundred years ago with a bad handwriting you can barely read. Still, you think you manage to get what you want out of it.

All you’d need for a mass-binding would be something shared between all targets on some level to use as the focus while they are within the circle. Of course, there are complications on how each individual perceives the focus which complicates things further but the point is that as long as you have a group of something that have a strong emotional tie to something and they think of it in the same way, you should be able to bind them at the same time. This method should work on simple targets but you doubt it’d work on people or sufficiently intelligent animals.

As you shut the book and sip the coffee, you notice the sun is high in the sky and Cecil is peacefully sleeping while leaning on you. You yourself feel like you may need to rest soon, but you steel your mind and exorcise the sleepiness.

>What do you do?

what if we gathered a bunch of republicans and shit around the washington memorial and then did a mass binding like that

that would work, right

Try to mass bind them by getting them focused on some cheese, or some piece of meat. obviously get their attention with it.

Honestly, we need a few more tricks for offense/defense if possible

[X] Today’s catch is...

You gently lie the girl down on a blanket as you head back to the warehouse where you told your familiars to bring you rodents.

You push the bike into the building, just in case someone passes by and recognizes the license plate, before seeing what your familiars have caught. You count two mice, a huge rat and a shrew. Experimenting a bit, you set a piece of food in the middle and attempt to bind the animals by it. After this fails to get any results you opt to doing things the hard way and draw some more circles.

Once the rodents are bound it’s already afternoon.

>What now?

[] Bind the rodents as… (Familiar types?)
[] Leave them bound.

and…

[] Go for a cop. (How?)
[] Read about… (Subject?)
[] Return to the Sanctuary and… (What?)

[X] On magic…

You finish binding the animals and flip open the grimoire, going for the history section. You begin looking for records on how those before you have used any similar affinities.

This reveals you some information; the flesh seems to be especially useful at creating constructs or modifying familiars while being less so in direct combat, but that is nothing you hadn’t thought of on your own. Experimentation and practice are things any mage has to do in order to learn more about their affinity but getting more familiar with its ‘natural manifestation’ could also help. You assume that means getting your hands into a body and are unsure of how to feel about it.

>Now?

[] Return to Sanctuary, practice.
[] Break into the cop’s house through the cellar now that he’s away. (In person or with a familiar?)

Have one of the host crows make submission circles in the basement, if unoccupied, then open a door and submission them to come to an abandoned place nearby when their master gets home. We will lay a submission in the door to capture the officer. He is to walk his dogs to abandoned place.

We will then prepare 3 binding circles at said meet up point.
>>
>>33840447
In addition have Harbinger crows on lookout.
>>
>>33838727
>I thought they just had Cecil. We noted the cameras and Cecil went in alone.
They also have us on camera as going up to Mariana's room with Cecil, looking at the camera, and then leaving.
Right afterwards, Cecil goes back to the room, and an hour later comes out bloody and putting away a knife.

That's enough probable cause to make us an accomplice, at least a person of interest.

[X] Breaking and entering.

You take a comfortable position in the dim warehouse as you order one of the host crows to move to the policeman’s house. The harbringer stationed there informs you that there is no movement in the building and you give the rodents an order to guard you during the possession.

You are now a crow standing by the cellar window of a small detached house. With some work your beak breaks the old, rusty lock that kept it shut, making it easy for you to crawl in though.

The room is small and dank, filled with miscellaneous items and long forgotten boxes. You maneuver your way through the piles of rubbish until you arrive to the heavy hatch leading into the ground floor. After few tries you come to the conclusion that it’s just too heavy for you to open as a bird.

>What do you do?

[] Go there in person.
[] Have Cecil go there to open the hatch.
[] Use magic. (How?)
[] Give up, do something else now. (What?)

Still pretty sure that was we went up to the Hospital, saw cameras, left before we entered camera range. Have to ask OP for confirmation though.

>[] Use magic. (How?)
First off we need to lay two submission circles for the dogs. Then try and use bolt to open the hatch.

Seeya guys. Gotta go work and shit. Thanks for running OP hope to catch it next time.

Can few from flesh strong enough and manipulate it delicately enough to use as a lock-pick?
>>
>>33844344
*Can we form flesh……
wtf
>>
>>33844344
I guess you technically could, but the problem right here is that you can't really open a trapdoor as a crow.
>>
>>33844442
Get one of the dogs in there then. They can climb up the ladder (though they will have trouble getting down) and should be strong enough to push the trapdoor up.
>>
>>33844049
>Still pretty sure that was we went up to the Hospital, saw cameras, left before we entered camera range. Have to ask OP for confirmation though.
No need, just go back in the archives.
>When you arrive to the hospital it’s a bit over 10am and visiting hours have just begun. You walk through the corridors, noting that there’s one camera on each one. You find the room you’re been looking for easily and just as you approach it a nurse steps out.
>You stop. There’s a camera right behind you. Your exit and entrance both would be recorded on it and whatever you do, the cops would be able to pin it on you.

We were caught on camera going up to Mariana's room.

[x] (Write-in)
I'm loathe to risk our one remaining dog, but it's the only one that probably has the strength to push open a trapdoor.
If our remaining dog is of a breed that's strong enough, have it go to the house, enter the basement, and push open the trapdoor and go up.
We'll use Bolt to pin down the two dogs, Submission them, create a Submission Circle to trap the cop when he gets home, and we'll bind them when he 'takes his dogs for a walk'.
>>
>>33842686

[X] Dog.

You call your remaining dog to the scene which arrives after half an hour or so. It pushes through the too small window, dislodging the whole thing from its hinges and still barely gets through before heading over to you, destroying various items in its wake. The noise seems to have gotten the home owner’s dogs’ attention as you can hear them barking outside. As the familiar pushes the trapdoor open, you take the chance to fly up the opening before using bolt to immobilize the confused animals.

You take this chance to set up the submission circles to have the dogs and the owner come to you as soon he enters the house.

Now it’s a matter of waiting until the officer gets off from work.

Questions, comments, general feedback and what have you are always welcome.

Can we get confirmation that we've been caught on camera going up to Mariana's room and standing outside of it?

Can we manipulate flesh now into different shapes and hardness?
>>
>>33846533
Yes, it was mentioned in the update back then that you walked up to the room, looked around, saw a nurse exit and turned back.

You can do relatively simple shapes, with more precise things taking a bit more time. The flesh is never rock hard of course but right now your conjured flesh consists of skin, muscle and meat, and you have some control over how much of it is what.
Using your whip of flesh as an example, anything you could do with that you could do with almost any conjured flesh as it's merely some conjured flesh shaped into a form, rolled up and enchanted with 'endure' to be used as a weapon.
