May 24th: That is the current date. It has been 3 days since the assault on castle Sunset.

You are Anthony Grant, guild leader of the newly formed <1st Panzer Division>, captain of the soon to be built Manifest Destiny, and Ambrosis the level 40 cleric. You also happen to be one of the people “invited” by the <Morning Star> to speak to them about the event.

You glance over to the <Morning Star> by the exit. Two white hats named BurstBerry and Montgomery. A RoR sorcerer and a foxtail enchanter respectively. You then glance over to Judicature. She had identified the two as her guild leader's personal vanguard before dragging you here. BurstBerry the Spell Sniper and Montgomery the Lucky is what they were known as, supposedly. She said it was very important that you talk with them. If only you knew “them” included the guild leader himself.

You look to the man sitting across the table from you. A bald, old man with a cowboy hat infront of him. Judi identified him as Brimstone, leader of the <Morning Star> guild. His face is worn and wrinkled, but has a pleasant smile on it. This battle cleric is decked out in ornate, articulating plate baring the symbols of several in-game deities. Your armor seems quite plain in comparison.

“I reckon...” His voice is the raspy with advanced age, “You've got quite a story to tell me.”

“Do I?” You reply.

“Seein' as it's not every day a bunch'a Adventurers kill a king and burn down a castle, I've a mind to think so.” He holds out his hand and Judicature hands him a couple of sheets of paper. “Now I'm no detective, but seein' as we've got some people tellin' us you were there when the king died, I'm gonna guess you've got a lot to tell us.”
>>
>>33918657
Fuck. Who the hell ratted you out? Probably the <49erS> or maybe even Takeshi. The bastards.

“Now, I'm not accusin' you of anythin'. I'm just here to ask some questions.” The cowboy puts the papers down. “I believe it's best to tell you we don't intend to start arresting anyone. We're just here to figure out what's happened is all.”

“Well, what do you want to know?”

“Now, if I'm not mistaken, the king kidnapped your friend and you aimed to get her back, am I right?”

“Sounds about right.”

“Well, why don'cha tell us all about that night.”

You sigh. You really didn't expect all this fallout from just killing someone the devs were obviously trying to make into a late game villain. His castle counted as a combat zone for Christ's sake!

You focus back on the topic at hand. “Well, I had gone to sleep and then I was woken up by Lilac, my friend, calling me. She said she didn't know where she was and that she was hallucinating. So, I went to her place under the assumption that that is where she was, but then she wasn't. So, I checked my friend list and it turned out she was at Castle Sunset.”

“And that's when you called the <49erS>?”

“Y... yes. That is when I called them for help in getting her back.”

He waits a couple seconds before adding, “Please continue.”

“Well, I called them, then me, Takeshi, Canis, and Tabula rode off to the castle. The <49erS> and the Umbra were already fighting by the time we arrived.” You pause to see how the cleric reacts, but he seems to not really be affected by the information. “So, we broke through the castle gate, fought our way to the throne room, and then the king began raving about how he was going to rule the world with world destroying magic or something. So, we try to... stop him, but uhh...” You try to figure out how to phrase this without placing blame on anyone.

“But...?”
>>
>>33918668

“But, uhh, we had a problem with a super powered Umbra who was protecting him.”

“So she was an Umbra, you say?” The old man asks before picking up some of the papers and reading them over.

“Uh... Maybe?” You respond. You realize that if Takeshi was spoken to first, they are probably going off of his 'She was mind controlled' gibberish. “I mean, she was standing in our way so that makes sense, right?”

“Well, I reckon that makes some sense.” He says, “So, tell us what happened next.”

“Well, we weren't quite sure what to do. I was desperate so I just started praying for any god's intervention. Being a cleric and all it made sense at the time. So, then, uhhh... This spike stabs him through the chest and he dies. It turned out Lilac, the one who was kidnapped, was trying to dig herself out with her earth spells. She was using... uhhh...”

“Stone Spike.” BurstBerry concludes.

“Yeah, that.” You respond, “And that's pretty much how he died. There was no way she could have known he was standing there, and if he didn't kidnap her he wouldn't have been stabbed, so really the entire thing was his fault.”

The old man nods his head, “That's certainly the conclusion we got from it, but, if you don't mind us askin', what happened after that.”

“Ah, well, after that the Umbra fled and, it turned out that my friend Canis was in love with her, so we started looking for her, but we couldn't find her.”

“And after that?”

You think back.

We tell OUR version of the truth. We were looking to see what he already got his hands on, and things we might have been able to discern, maybe even find the girl. If we found magic tomes of use, that was coincidental.

“Well, when we were done looking for her we ended up in the Library and knowing he was crazy, I thought it would be a good idea to see what he already had. You know, make sure no world destroying spells falls into the wrong hands.”

“Well, I reckon that's a fine thing to do.”

“So, when we actually looked through the books, all we could find were... well... essays on Adventurers. Like, one went on about how Adventurers worship a god named Merika once every twelve years for twelve days straight by competing in tournaments and blowing things up.”

“Can't say I remember there being a god named Merika in the lore.”

“Another one said something like... Adventurers who fall into boredom from winning without a challenge and Adventurers losing so many times that they fall into despair end up disappearing forever.”

“Well, I gotta say, that's an interesting tidbit.” The cleric says with chuckle, “Mind if I have a look at those books?”

With permission, move over, point out which books that you think seem to attempt to explain regular behavior we have in the real world. Adventurers despairing is us getting bored and shelving the game. Merika is obviously some misinterpretation of America.

Anthony Grant, even as Ambrosis, isn't stupid. Crazy, look before you leap, and an ass, sure! Totally accurate. Stupid, and can't understand patterns? No.

The tournament might be us raiding. Remember, in the anime, it was proven time passes at a much, MUCH faster rate for our avatars. Now, we're experiencing time as they perceive it. Twelve years to them? Probably a few weeks? They might be talking about raids, dungeoning, PVP groupings.

There's other things that could totally be misinterpreted! "Adventurers run around with no explination, as if mad, leaping and showing feats of agility as if merely to display them, like spirits of the forest." = A bored player, waiting for a queue.

"The Adventurers act strange, doing odd gestures, bringing powerful items of strange eldritch nature at their fingertips and using them with little regard to their surroundings or their own health." = Lol watch me /dance. Oh did you see this neat in game toy? It makes me on fire. Neat buff.

These books probably read like trying to discern the behaviors of an MMO player as if trying to discern the actions of a living god. To them, they are not just actions of impulse, but strange, mysterious acts of divine nature, that up until now, were impossible to discern. And now we're talking. And interacting. To the King, who was clearly been studying us, that's probably some heavy shit.

Twenty years to us, is probably a few centuries to them. Imagine how much they've attempted to discern from watching. They must think minor coins offered, or saying "We are grateful!" And just THINKING good thoughts, to imagine they gain experience points, is a tithe, to the Adventurer.
>>
>>33919547
Oh, snap. I didn't even think of that. I thought time passed a lot faster than that. But that's a good explanation!

Hopefully we can replace the crazy king's kingdom with our own Adventurer led country.

It'll be important to get the Landers on our side and the best way to do that is to clear up misunderstandings.

There's problems with that.
1) The Umbra. Aideen just proved they're Landers under there, who may in fact have a secret dev ability, that we are not normally aware of. [Umbra Transformation]: Turn from whatever single level citizen you look like normally, into a raid mob Umbra member of unknown level(Maybe 60). We might have to fight a smear campaign against us.
2) The Prince, that Zarchary/Vertigo met last episode. They're going to the 13 Kingdoms, aka the eastern seaboard. We know that in the near future, Big Apple's going to have a riot. Guess how well that will look to the Landers. The Prince, to the Landers, has royal mandate to reclaim his kingdom.
3) Our previous silent helpful murdermonster status has so far, not changed to the Landers. We are still powerful, and widespread mindset of raiders/warlords/conquerors, all because not everyone is slowly ascertaining we are in a -world- with people who feel and care.

We're going to be fighting an uphill battle, no matter what. We need to bring to Morning Star's attention the child's room above the throne room. This mad man's rash actions now put us ALL at risk, in the North American server. We have to play smart, and fast, and our allies are gonna be needed.
>>
>>33920067
Ah jesus, two days. That might be enough to cause worldwide panic back home, or getting close to the start of it.
>>
>>33920163
This would all be so much easier if we didn't aggro Aideen, got Lilac, and left.
>>
>>33920040
Probably not the best idea. bureaucracy is annoying and it must be doubly so when you're actually in charge of it. We may however need to setup our own loose form of self governance to expand upon what Morning Star is doing in a less psychotic manner I think something simpler like basic aid given to the locals while everything is in chaos would work better. Depending on how rich local adventurers are we might even set up our own personal territory where ideas the Landers might not have been introduced to like people having rights exists. The nobles would hate the fuck out of not being allowed to act like shits but fuck them.
Win their hearts and minds so that they choose to bring you in. much better than outright conquest.

What are you doing while waiting for QM to post?

That's what I'm thinking. Morning Star needs to get its act together a bit and I think helping Landers with their justice problems is a good start.

“Uh... Yeah, sure.” You say, reaching into your bag to pull out some of the books. “It's kinda interesting if you think about it. They're pretty much trying to understand all the crazy things we do. I mean, if you look in volume five there's like... twelve essays trying to argue whether or not the goddess Yu'ehssay is the wife of or the same person as Merika.” You then hold up volume six. “Oh, this one's the best. They try to piece together some kind of Adventurer mythology. Half of them argue that Merika and Yu'ehssay are the same person and they are married to Lady Libirty and the other half are arguing that Merika and Yu'ehssay are two different people and Merika is cheating on Yu'ehssay with Lady Libirty. Oh, and the weird part? They actually all quote this one mage who used high level magic to tap into... uhhh...” You open up the volume, skip to a certain page and begin reading, “Tapping into the communicative weave of Adventurer speech, Archmage Quince has taken from many conversation the phrase 'Merika has fucked Libirty in the ass.' After much debate it was concluded that the phrase no doubt means that the god Merika has engaged in anal intercourse with the commonly mentioned Lady Libirty, who was an unknown character until now. It is currently debated, however, as to the reason for why the phrase was delivered with anger.” You close the book. “Then they argue whether we're angry because that means a new god won't be born or if we're angry because our head god has betrayed his wife.”

The cleric across the table begins to chuckle, as do the two by the door, until all three of them burst out into laughter. Judicature, on the other hand, just looks embarrassed.

The cleric finally ends his laughter and says, “I believe I've heard it all now.” He wipes some tears away, “Well now, that explains why they've been actin' like we're the crazy ones.” He then goes back to looking at his paper before putting them down one last time. He stands up from his chair and holds out a hand. “I reckon you've been a lot of help to us, Ambrosis. Thank you kindly for comin' and meeting us like this.”

You stand up as well and shake his hand. “Yeah. Don't mention it.”

You look to the door and the two white hats take a step away. You leave out of said door and walk into the afternoon sun. You takes a deep breath and wonder what you should do now.

Also, first chance we get, we need to find the nearest 'mage's library' and find anything from Archmage Quince. He's clearly someone who tried to understand us on a deeper level, and may have left behind magical items that might be able to answer some questions or give us tools to better our existence. Not to mention that if the king had these books, then it's certain so does every other noble/king/lord. We're going to have a lot of misinformation to fight. Welcome to problem number three of being leadership. And it seems to be deeper rooted than we thought.

If we're lucky, we can have enough of US to convince the Landers of what our world is like. Though that might do little more than have them understand us a bit better, it's a step in the right direction. We need to work with the <49ers> about that. Maybe ask their scribes to start crafting low end books to circulate, to better our situation. Then start asking Landers about the nearest mage's library.
>>
>>33921952
I still think that;s a bad idea. The misinformation could be useful for a little while longer. Let it naturally sort itself out while the nobles reveal their "evil plots" under false information.
>>
Something has been bugging me a while. why do the adventurers in the anime never use their real names? Seems a bit weird how noone is ok with using real names barring Marielle.
>>
Rolled 14

>>33922460
I assumed its because most people know them by their in game name so its easier to use the name everyone already knows.
>>
>>33922460
It's a mental reflex, how we often don't divulge our real names, or personal details, online. Marielle, being from Osaka, seems to have much more lax of a mindset when contemplating it. It's suggested she's very quick to act, but not think. Simply put, she puts her foot in her mouth, doing this.
>>
>>33922460
What are you talking about? Plenty of them do.
>>
>>33922548
While that is true it's kinda not something worth carding about after the first few weeks.
I mean being stuck in some alternate dimension sorta trumps that.
>>33922578
Who does outside of Marielle? I guess MAYBE scrub horizon might have used their RL names for characters but considering it's been over 6 months in the novels by now it seems awfully strange that almost none of these people even refer to each other outside of game names in casual/private conversation.
>>
>>33921623
I was to late to vote for lilac option ;_;
>>
>>33922736
Suspension of disbelief at that point. I think it's simply because of making it easier to recognize who is who. You don't change the name of someone in a story halfway through, and not expect the reader to be confused. So for now the best option is to accept it as one of those hand waving situations meant for making it easier on the audience.

You head off for the inn. It's not every day someone you care about just ups and disappears. As Canis' best friend you need to make sure he's okay and not about to do something stupid. He'll probably do something like go out to search for her or something stupid like that.

You enter into the tavern of the inn for the umpteenth time and spot Canis sitting alone at a table, steins, bottles, and and cups surrounding him like a fort of glass and pewter.

“You okay?” You ask him.

He turns his head to try and face you, but ends up just resting he head on the back of his chair. “Why wouldn' I be ohhhhhhhhkay?”

“Well normally Ohhhhhhkay people don't drink so much they cover the entire table in cups.”

He proceeds to swing his arm along the table, knocking all of it to the floor. A puddle of broken glass forms to the right of the table. “I'll pay for it later!” Canis yells.

You lift your mace into the air. Maybe a more sober Canis would be better to talk to right now.

Your friend responds by grabbing hold of the mace and ripping it from your hand. “Don' do that. I jus' need t' be drunk right now.”

“And you don't think there's a problem with that?”

“Nah. Cause when you're drunk, time goes faster.”

“I don't think that's a thing.”

“It's a thing. I'd know. I studied brain science!”

“I don't... Canis stop. How do you think Aideen would react to seeing like this?”

“Aideen? Aideen's gonna get t' me when she's ready. So, it'll she's ready I'm gonna jus' gonna be here.”

You put your hand over your face. Must things be so difficult so suddenly?

“I... I thought you were going to head into the Frontier and meet up with me.”

“I... No. Sorry. We've got some things on our end that's making things a bit crazy.”

“Oh yeah! I heard about that! Some fucking Adventurers destroyed Castle Sunset! You gotta watch out for those guys. My money's on it being <Big Ol Crities> or <Ex Infernus> or maybe even <Crazy Hat>. Seems more <Crazy Hat>'s style now that I think about it.”

“Uhhh...” You try to think of a way to tell him that it was you and the <49erS>, but then you suddenly realize, “Wait. How did you know that?”

“Know what?”

“That someone burned the castle.”

“Oh I heard it from some lady.”

“Was her name Aideen?”

Canis suddenly takes notice of your conversation.

“Uhh...” Your brother responds, “I... maybe? I can't really remember. Why did you want to know?”

“Because Canis is looking for her.”

“Well why is Canis looking for her?”

“Because the idiot's in love with her! Now did you see her or not!?”

“You're not just saying that so you can find her and get to her possibly nonexistent loot table, right?”

“Wha- No! Now did y-” You pause, “What do you mean loot table?”

“What? Did I say loot table? I meant... Umm... Of course she has no loot table! She's just a random lander! Hahaha!”

“So you DID see her.”

Canis gets up and puts his ear your yours, trying to hear Zachery's end of the conversation, but you don't think he can.

“Well, I... Okay.” Zachery responds, “Yes. Yes I did. I was trying to save her, but she attacked me. I don't think she trusts Adventurers anymore, which is really REALLY bad. I mean I'm not even top tank on the server and I could have wrecked her! Capital hashtag-R-E-K-T wrecked her!”

Know what friends do? Lie to each other to make sure they are safe and sound. Like we're going to do with Canis right now. We're going to tell him that our brother met someone who might have talked to Aideen, When our brother gets here, pull him away from Canis, tell him this little elaborate web and so help him if he fucks it up there will be no magic on Half gaia to make the misery we will bring go away. He will eventually 'remember' that she's going to the thirteen kingdoms, but has no clue which. We tell him for now it's best they wait for his brother, so they can all go looking together. After this, we need to contact the 49ers, and give them the heads up, as well as Morning Star. Our party, too. This shit can go down fast and bad for us if we don't act like we got a Marielle. Cause that shit will bite us in the ass.

Aideen is both a high priority target we can't simply wipe off the face of half gaia, as that would kill our friend. But we can't let her run off with the little prince, and get every Lander on the eastern seaboard believing all Adventurers are evil. Adventurers could move at easily 10x the speed Aideen could, if we have to. Especiall with the new tank we'll be getting. So for now, her importance is high, but her speed is low. We'll outdo the speed, as long as we aren't stupid about it. This is crunch time for Ambrosis.

Tell him. point out we'd never catch her in time so it's best to either wait for bro so that he can destroy anything in our path for easy travel or something else.(something else being making the speed train but I think we dont have the resources to make that right now and it's better to have a proper "delegation" when it comes to worting out that massive mess. )
On the note of that mess we might want to work with morningstar and the 49ers to have the adventurer side of the story be told to the nobles before Aideen arrives.
>>
>>33923673
Landers and adventurers have instant communication. The first TOWN Aideen hits is when she can start to report to the 13 kingdoms.
Adventurers can likewise communicate across an entire server via friend lists.
It's only in spoiler because we shouldn't know this but I think that we should at least thinking ;. "HA. We can totally get the message across faster than she can."

If Aideen still has connections elsewhere, she's not going to let herself be found unless she's ready. It's also real likely that we're going to need a lot of preparation before we seek her out. Hopefully, Canis will see that this will be a dangerous undertaking that needs to be done right, rather than something that needs to be done as fast as possible.

So Shep, did you get [Morning Star] and [49ers] from Mamare's public notes, or did he get them from you?
>>
>>33924302
Tiny Shepherd is Mamare.
>>
>>33924302
Considering those specific notes are fairly old and were translated while the show was running as far as my memory serves I'm thinking Marmalade thought em up first.
>>
>>33924302
I got them from his notes.

If we see something about <Swich Licour>, land-ships, <Last Valley>, <1st Panzer Division>, or one of the three Geniuses, then we'll know he likes us.

Personally, I think he was one of the guys who got angry and left halfway through the first thread.

I didn't have Ambrosis wake up in the town square unlike everyone else because I though "Well if he's already technically IN town, he wouldn't go anywhere, right?" Turns out the answer was an obvious No because his house counts as a separate zone as the town, so he would also have shown up in the middle of town with the others. Someone yelled about that and also complained that Canis wouldn't have been able to glitch through the floor because that's just not a thing. Then they left. It always seemed really strange to me. Not saying that that guy was Mamare, but that if Mamare DID read this quest, he'd probably had left in a huff along with that guy.

I don't think Shep was working on it? The dude said he was inspired by LHQ to do his own, but it seemed like something he did on a whim without really structuring anything out for the long term. I think he hit a wall in terms of story progression and decided to go back to work on his other quest.

“I'll tell you...” You say, pointing to him, “But only if you sober up first.”

You extends his arms out, “Well, what're ya waiting for!? Hit me wit' your blue sparkles!”

You give him a slight chuckle and hold out a hand. “I'll need my mace back.”

He reaches down to the pile of glass and steins and retrieves your mace. He hands it to you and you hold it above your head. Your friend is bathed in blue light.

“Alright!” He shouts, “So where is she?”

“Okay, well, first I need to tell you that going out to get her right now is a dumb idea. Instead we should wait the two days for the Manifest Destiny to be completed, ride it out to the Frontier, pick up my brother, keep riding, and get to her before she can reach the 13 Kingdoms.”

“So what you're telling me is... she's heading to the 13 Kingdoms.”

“Right.”

“And where is that?”

“The... east coast...? Why?”

He begins to beat a marching tune on his drums. “Because I can increase my speed.” You try to jump into the doorway to block him, but he is already gone by the time you touch the door.

His drumbeats echo and fade throughout the town. He's going far faster than you ever could. Wait. Why aren't you getting the speed boost too!? He left the party. The bastard! “The stuff in the Frontier will one-shot you!”

Dumb dumb will die, and honestly, wasting Judicature's energy to risk getting out there and being chomped on by something, isn't the best plan for us. Best we can hope is he DOESN'T die, maybe delays her. We need to get the others informed. Maybe get BRO after the fact.

Is this even a proper town with a home point right now? He's probably being slower trying to run the first part instead of warping and if there is an HP in town he'll end up back in town once he dies to the spooky teeth golems. Of course Lilac's the one who'd figure that out so this wont come into play until she notices us running about like fools.
Canis is definitely getting chomped though. There's always some mob out there with enhanced movement speed better than a pc's or that has fast enough magic to cast a sleep spell. as a tank he can hold em off/solo for a while easier than others with the right build but our gear is awful.
Side note. TS. Can we ask lilac what level the mobs are in the nearby zones? we gotta figure out either how fucked he is when the mob train stops or just what horrors he might drag next to a town.

My thought is that Shep is trying to give us chances to let Aideen have an escort, which we keep denying.

Aideen and the prince are going to die if they're alone.
>>
>>33926861
His best bet in that case is a misc adventurer and some npcs from that nearby town crossing the river because giant trains of mobs, the eventual need for sleeping, misc other stuff and the like is gonna slow down Canis vs anyone on a horse AND we can track him down zone by zone thanks to the friend list unless we actually say "fuck it he's immortal" despite him also being our tank.

You look down to your feet, look up to the sky, and turn around. You know how to stop this.

Walking back to the abandoned shop the <Morning Star> were using as an interrogation room, and burst through the door.

“...And that's when I lost my shoes.” Lilac informs Brimstone. Then everyone turns to your sudden arrival.

“Well,” Says the aging cleric, “I reckon you don't enter a room like unless you gotta have something to say.”

You try to think of why you came in here, but you start to draw a blank. And then, “Oh! Judi! Canis is running off to the Frontier with speed buffs because he's a idiot and I need someone fast enough to stop him before he gets himself killed or worse.”

Judicature looks to the other <Morning Star> for direction.

Brimstone gives her a nod.

Judi leaps up from her chair and rushes to the door.

Lilac opens her mouth to say something, but the two of you are already out of the room and running for the stables! You don't have the time to listen to her!

“He's trying to find Aideen.” You say, “And he's just going to die like an idiot instead.”

“How romantic.” She responds softly.

You offer her a raised eyebrow.

“I-I mean... That's what I would say if it was not so stupid.”

“He's heading east for the Frontier.”

“Why would he do that?”

“Because that's where Aideen is.”

“Why is SHE there!?”

“Because she's heading for the 13 Kingdoms.”

“Why would she-”

“Because Castle Sunset was burned to the ground and she thinks all Adventurers are insane psychopaths!”
>>
>>33927418
The two of you stop in front of the stables.

“Okay.” You say, “Go get a horse and go catch Canis.”

“Oh.” She responds, “I have my own horse, actually.” She pulls out a black whistle and blows into it. It unleashes a low bellow. You hear heavy galloping and a white horse appears from the stables. The thing is practically monstrous in size. Its mane flows in the wind like some kind of horse-fabio.

“You've had a horse this entire time!?” You ask.

“Of course! Every <Morning Star> has one! White ones get bonus speed and everything! They're not as fast as the red ones, though.” She gets into the saddle. She pats the horse a couple of times. “I named him Casablanca.”

“Oh, like that French movie, right?”

Judicature stares at you for quite a while before she turns her horse and rides off at a speed you had not seen before. Is everyone going fast now!? It's like Tribes2 all over again.

You look up to the sky and think to yourself. There really isn't anything else for you to do right now. Judi will drag Canis back whether you do something at this point or not. Maybe it's time to go relax while your plans come together.

Relaxation. That's what you need. After fighting a battle, searching for a missing person, being interrogated, and trying to keep your friend to do something stupid, a nice lay down on a grassy hill will be nice.

You take a nice, slow walk out of town and find the grassiest hill in this not-so hilly, not-so grassy land. You settle for a small part of a mountain covered in brown grass and next to the main road.

You lay back in the grass and stare at the clouds going by. White bodies of fluff swimming through a sea of blue. You feel so light just watching these things go by, letting your mind wander.

So the Landers found a way to listen in on your voice chat. That's what it sounded like. Did the devs implement some kind of voice recognition software in the NPCs? With the thing about to translate just about any language into any other language, it makes sense that they could do it, so why wouldn't they implement it for everyone?

Well, if all the NPCs would activate on key words, having a conversation in the middle of town could probably cause all the NPCs to try and give you quests if you say the wrong thing. That would probably be really bothersome, but why could this Quince guy still listen in? He probably was the testbed for the system and they just didn't remove the part of the code where he listens in for key words. Jeez. It's like you're the only competent programmer in the world right now. Although, the world coming to life and sucking people inside probably wasn't something people expected.

“Excuse me,” You hear a vaguely familiar voice, “Have you seen a purple dwarf named Lilac?”

“Yeah, I have.” You say before looking over to see the <Sweet Cakes> guild plate hovering below the name Symbology. You get to your feet. “You!” You shout, “What are you doing here!?”
>>
>>33929241
“Wha- YOU!” She seems to have remembered you as well, “You're the guy who said my name wasn't real!”

“And you're the one with the fake-word name!”

“Symbology's a real word!”

“Says the one with the fake name!”

“I-!” She breathes in and then out. “Just tell me where the dwarf is.”

“Why should I tell you!?”

“Because I'm a friend of hers!” She points up to the guild tag. Same guild as Lilac.

“If that's true, then why don't you ask her!?”

“Because I wanted to surprise her!”

“Did you? Or did you REALLY want to...” You've got nothing. “I've got nothing.”

“Just tell me if she's at the rainbow shop or not.”

“Rainbow? I don't remember there being a rainbow.”

“It was apart of the sign. It's a rainbow because she has a character for evey color in the rainbow. There's the red elf name Rouge, the orange human named Tangerine, the yellow Half-Alv named Saffron, the green were-cat named Lime, the blue RoR named Cobalt, the indigo Wolf-hair named Denim, and the purple dwarf named Lilac.” She pauses for a moment. “Yeah, that's all of them.” She turns around, “Thanks for telling me she's still at the shop.”

“What? I didn't-... Bitch.”

After the two of you enter the city, she turns around and notices you. “Are you following me?” She asks.

You open up your friend list and hit the call button on Judicature.

“Hello?” Judi says.

“Hey! How's the search for Canis going?”

“Oh I found him!”

Symbology turns away from you and begins heading towards Lilac's shop, you assume. You start to follow her again.

“Oh, that's great!” You say to Judi, “So you're dragging him back, right?”

“Um...” She gets very quiet. “About that....”

“Judi... what happened?”

“Well, I started talking to him and he started talking about how he needed to see her and make sure she's safe and... and...”

“And...?”

“And I might have given him my horse...”

“Judi... I asked you to bring him back.”

“But he looked so sad! And it was so romantic! I was like that security guard in all those really bad romantic dramas! I had to let him go!”

“God damn it, Judi...”

“I'm sorry.”

“Just... Fuck it. JUST. FUCK IT! If he dies he'll just show up back here, it's as simple as that!”

“Please stop yelling...”

“Just...” You sigh, “Just get back here. I'll... I'll think of something to do later.”

“I'm really sorry...”

“It's.” You take a deep breath. “It's fine. Just get back here. We'll figure out what to do later.”

“O-okay...”

CLICK.

You look around. You've lost Symbology. That bitch! You'll find her soon enough, all you need to do is head towards Lilac's shop.

Soon enough you spot the bitch in front of the shop. She didn't believe in your chair-glider? Well how about a god damn steam tank that won a race! That'll show her who the real genius here is!
>>
>>33931106
The door to Lilac's shop opens up.

“Rouge!” Symbology shouts. She reaches her arms into the doorway and pulls Lilac into view. She squeezes the dwarf in an embrace that leaves Lilac's short legs dangling. “You're so tiny and cute now!”

Lilac responds with gasping and choking sounds.

“You're just so huggably cute!”

Additional gasps for air.

Finally the elf puts the dwarf down and Lilac takes in a deep breath.

“Sym.” Lilac says, “Never do that again.”

“But just look how tiny you are!”

You decide now would be a good point to enter. You cough to announce your presence.

The two look in your direct. Lilac's face remains neutral while Symbology changes to one of being annoyed.

“Who invited you?” Symbology asks.

“This is Ambrosis,” Lilac explains, “Or chair-guy as you call him. He's a friend of mine.”

You nod. “Yup. That's me. I'm also the winner of the first annual Boulder Engineering Race... or whatever it was called.”

Symbology rolls her eyes, “What did you do, put wheels on a chair and roll it down a hill?”

“He made a steam engine.” Lilac responds.

The elf look to the dwarf, back to you, then back to the dwarf, “No, really.”

“He really did.”

“Yeah!” You shout, “AND I won the entire thing! I even beat Lilac.”

“Seriously!?” The seems to have surprised the elf. “He beat you!?”

Lilac seems a bit disgruntled by your statement.

“Well...” You have to think fast, “What I mean to say is that I technically won.”

“Technically won?” Symbology asks.

“There was a price limit,” Lilac adds to your story, “I went over the limit and technically lost. We only found out about it at the end.”

“Oh. I see.” Symbology says with a smirk, “So you really won, but the judges didn't know how to game the AH to get better prices, so they disqualified you.”

Lilac responds before you can, “Exactly.”

You nod. It was true enough and no one was getting hurt.
>>
>>33931130
“Well that's judges for you.” Symbology explains, “They just can't handle Rouge so they disqualify her. The government can't handle her so they get her fired. God can't handle her, so he gives her-”

“Stop.” Lilac interrupts. “Let's head inside and talk about something else.” She motions to her open door.

Symbology heads inside, followed by you, and then Lilac.

“Wow.” Symbology comments, “This place is a mess!”

“Someone broken in and left it a mess.” Lilac explains, “I just didn't have the energy to clean it up.”

The elf walks over to an empty chair and sits in it. “So, when're you gonna reopen the place?”

You shake your head and respond, “Why would she reopen if she's heading off to Big Apple in two days?”

“Actually...” Lilac begins, “I never actually wanted to get to Big Apple. That was a lie I told you to get here.”

its not a huge deal that she lied, its not like it put us at a disadvantage, as ambrosis, we just need to tell her that its alright, not like we wouldnt have let her join in the beggining if she was just going half way anyways, but we wish she had told us a bit earlier

all in all, if she doesnt want to keep coming with us on a life of absurd adventures, thats her choice, even if we dont quite like it.

just keep her as a friend, ally our guilds, call occasionally for advice, but under no circumstances should we over react like when we built the bro, i would rather keep a friend than lose one over something dumb

before we leave, we need to ask her one more time if she will come with us, with the promise of infinite adventure, or stay where she is now
