Stage 25: Questions, Answers, Lies, Truths.

After familiarizing yourself with the new layout of the house, and explaining to your family that you will not be explaining to your family because the explanation isn't satisfactory to anyone including yourself outside of “the landlord did it” you have two very big issues to deal with.

The first issue is deciding on what to do with Jinyuu-onee-sama's secretary. Questioning her is not entirely problematic: since Miko-Kiku is a Fire dragonette is able to discern truth from lie with her Fire Eyes, not that your own Water Eyes aren't nearly as capable; as long as she has no idea where she is your location isn't compromised – even the windows only reveal concrete walls. Keeping Er Yin out of her sight is fairly important but hardly insurmountable.

No, the real problem is what to do with her if you decide to question her at all, much less let her go. Sealed as she is she's insensible to the world around her, helpless and mindless. Once that is gone, then she will be free to do as she wishes, may remember things even if she remains unconscious, and will then be a liability once more. Your sister has explained she is a Void dragonette, a graduate but no longer a follower of Clan Ryo (you tried very hard not to laugh in your sister's face), and her talents were useful to your sister as a seer.
>>
>>33983331
Currently you have four bedrooms and the guest room – the latter set aside by the landlady for your sister and her secretary – as well as two and a half bathrooms. Furnishings aren't part of the deal, except in the case of the guest bedroom – it is traditional Japanese instead of your preferred and MUCH MALIGNED preference for pastels and Western décor.

[] Gentle questioning with an explanation of the safe-house being for Kiki-hime's benefit.
[] Leave her sealed, take her elsewhere, drop her off and have her freed by others.
[] Firm questioning under the assumption she may have been spying.
[] Keep her eyes covered and sealed, minimize her contact with the others.
[] Innocent until – no, you can't even think it without laughing. Let Akari question her.

[+] Good cop-bad cop tactics, and security risk situation.

While typically there are a huge number of other things you would like to get to – taking an actual bath, kissing, teasing, and changing clothes – keeping Jinyuu-onee-sama's secretary prisoner is kind of troublesome.

On the other hand, you need to know what she may or may not know.

Still, there are other ways, and realistically there is only so much she could have learned working in Jinyuu-onee-sama's office. Certainly nothing Oba-san didn't already know.

“Onee-sama....do you think there's any chance at all she learned anything that could come back against us? This is important. If so, we'll question her and try to keep her here. If not, it might be safer to release her into the wild with no memory past the kidnapping.” It's not an ideal solution, but the alternative is the pragmatic and permanent one, and you're making an effort not to cause that kind of trouble for now.

Akari walks over and kneels next to the still spell-bound Yumiko. “I do not think we have such an option, aniki. Even if she knows nothing, leaving and reentering is a risk, despite the protections of this place.” Every the realist, your subordinate is probably right.
>>
>>33983966
Jinyuu-onee-sama frowns faintly, as Yui brings tea to the living room, placing the service on the table. She glances at you slightly nervously, but your questioning glance is met with a faint shake of her head. Nothing she wants to discuss aloud. Looking up at your elder sister, you can see the turmoil; you made sure she understands very well how pragmatic you will be if needed to protect your family.

Hidesato is trapped in one of your deepest, darkest barriers to prove it.

“Aka-chan, I do not think she knows anything, but I would not suggest that Oba-san is incompetent or lacking in subtle skills.” That she is being honest makes you feel a little better. There were and still may be secrets between you. Still, better safe than sorry.

“All right. Akari, with me; you're the devil. Stop looking so pleased about it.” She blinks at you, her expression not changing at all. “Er Yin-sensei, seal her eyes if you can while she's still under. Miko-Kiku-chan, also with me, but you're just observing with Fire Eyes. Yui-niji-chan, please play hostess, and I'm going to need to eat before bed too. I don't know if everyone has had supper.” You would rather take Er Yin as well, but the truth is you can't afford the risk of her discovering Er Yin if you decide to let her go. “And I hate to ask, but Er Yin-sensei, you're going to have to make yourself scarce while this is done, even if we do it in another room.”

Er Yin blinks, her pupils glowing silvery-white as she uses her own Void Eyes to study the spell. “I can bind her Void Eyes, or her eyes entirely, as you wish, Ryukusa-sama.”

“Where will we be performing this, aniki?” Akari adds.

[X] The guest room, it is a familiar style to her. [Truly Blind] + [Void Blind]

Yui brings you a cup of tea, and she seems somewhat relieved, as though whatever was worrying her before is no longer an issue. You smile and run your fingers along the small of her back, making her tail twitch as she goes to serve Kiku-chan and Er Yin tea as well.

Taking a slow sip of the tea, you let the warmth relax you. The risk of her seeing too much, even by accident, is too strong. “Er Yin-sensei, bind her eyes entirely, but if you can make it in two layers, one for her sight and one for her Void Eyes, that I can break separately that would be best. Miko-Kiku-chan, please also prepare a another seal for her, just in case. Her full name is Hebe Yumiko. We'll use the guest bedroom, since it will be easily mistaken for any place in Tokyo.”

“Aka-chan....” your sister starts to protest mildly. You start to glance at her, but notice that Akari and Yui are both looking at your sister, their expressions calm, determined. Kiku walks over to the coffee table in silence, and starts setting out an ink-stone, brush, and a sheet of yellow paper, not looking at your elder sister at all. Er Yin remains standing where she was, but her tail lashes slowly. Kiki-hime quietly shuffles back from where you sit with her, keeping you between her and Jinyuu, her eyes nervous, though her expression is determined.

The sudden silence is quite palpable, and Jinyuu-onee-sama seems confused at first, unable to process what you have started to realize. As Kiku-chan slowly writes out the seal, only the soft rustle of Er Yin's tail and you drinking tea makes any noise in the room. You don't look at your sister, letting her understand that things have truly changed, far beyond your spiritual nature and transformation.

She slowly lowers her head again, and gives you a slight bow. “You must do as you must, Aka-chan, of course.” Akari and Yui relax, Er Yin smiles faintly, and Kiki-hime breathes a slow sigh of relief. “If I may, I would like to meditate for a while, please.” She sets her tea down, her expression stoic. You try not to react, but it is harder than when Hinata was playing with the poisoned wounds the Grass-Cutting Blade inflicted.

Ah, hell. Oh well, it can't be worse than anything else you've done to her today. “Yui-niji-chan, please show my sister to my room, and make sure she is comfortable?”

Yui gives Er yin her tea and sets the service down on the coffee table. “Hai, aniki. Please, Jinyuu-sensei, come with me.”

You wait until you hear the door shut, and only then sigh, and not in the pleased-with-your-tea sort of sigh.

“This is not going to be easy, aniki,” Akari murmurs softly, as she picks up the unconscious dragonette and takes her to the guest room.

Kiki-hime's arms slide about your shoulder from behind, and you feel her cheek against yours.

[XXX] Nuzzle and reassure your girlfriend.
[XX] Tell her that it will be okay between you and your sister.
[X] “Have you two fought like this before?”

You lean back into Kiki, and she squeezes softly; your Pearl warms to her embrace, but for once failing to calm you. Her lips brush your cheek and she lightly rubs her horn along yours – you respond, not out of desire or to tease or to caress, but to reassure yourself as much as her. The motion is no less intimate, but the warmth it brings is not that of lust or sex or potency, but of love and understanding. It's enough to make one diabetic, if you didn't actually need the reassurance at the moment.

“It was bound to happen sooner or later, a fight like that. But it's the first ever, so that should be all right,” you murmur to Kiki, and you feel her smile into your shoulder. She's warm against you, and you sigh softly. Kiku is turning in place on her knees, holding the finished seal carefully. You glance at her then reach up and stroke Kiki-hime's other horn slowly, exploring the strangely smooth, glassy texture lightly, more to distract yourself than to excite her. “Have you two fought like this before?”

“If that is a fight between you and Jinyuu-onee-sama, Ryu-chan, I can't even imagine what would happen if you got angry at her,” Kiki-hime murmurs softly.

Er Yin laughs very softly, almost privately. “Ryukusa-sama, if that is your definition of an altercation with your sister, you must be unbelievably polite to your cousins when they anger you.” She starts towards the guest room slowly, as you hear Yui open and close your bedroom door. Your next sentences give her pause though, and they make Kiki-hime stiffen against you.

“We're both Water dragonettes. If she looks at me, she could shatter my resolve; if I wish to break her heart, I would merely have to look away from her.” Your heart is already aching, and this last incident has made it worse by far.

Kiku-chan speaks up softly. “Yes, baka dragon, my sister and I fight. It is loud, and destructive, and the words we say would make Yui cry. But we do not let that stop us from caring for each other.” She stands up and makes the seal disappear. “If this is your first, it will hurt, but you'll live.” Your priestess takes Er Yin's hand and guides her to the guest room.

Kiki-hime softens against you, and then she slips away, only to crawl around you so she is next to and facing you. Yui kneels by the couch, making herself hardly noticeable, as Kiki takes your right hand in both of hers. “Your sister probably knew that this day would come, in one way or another, Ryu-chan. It's just part of growing up, as strange as it sounds for me to say that to you.” She kisses your knuckles and you hold back the tears that threaten by merely willing it so. “You're not just a warrior, or a shinobi, or a Yakuza. You're the head of our family, and we will do whatever you need us to do. Not because it is the right thing, or the thing that should be done, but because you wouldn't ask it if it wouldn't help ~us~.”

Yui leans forward, her hands on the ground, almost like a servant beseeching her mistress. “Aniki, it is okay to fight with your family. It is not okay to hurt the important people in your life because your family is being stupid. I learned that from you.”

[X] They're just too good to you.

Lifting Kiki's hands, you lay soft kisses on each one, reciprocating the kisses she gave your hand, letting the warmth of her touch suffuse your lips and inhaling the scent of cherry blossoms. Wrapping your tail around Yui's waist and dragging her closer – nearly spraining something, because she weighs a hell of a lot for your tail to cope with – you draw them both into a tight hug, your eyes closed, your heart soothed, though still aching. They're right of course. It wasn't going to be possible to do all of this without hurting your sister a little, just because she disapproved of Clan Ryo from the start. At least she's not fighting you outright over it.

But the warmth that surrounds you now makes the pain you are suffering worthwhile. These are the people you are protecting; not even your sister can be allowed to stand in the way of protecting the precious treasures that are their smiles and hearts.

You kiss each of them on the cheek, and take a deep breath, letting the pain go. “Thank you, Kiki-hime, Yui-chan. You're both totally right.” They hug you, Kiki's arms about your neck, Yui's about your waist, her tail twitching back and forth against yours. “It hurts, doing this to her, but I have responsibilities.” Kiki-hime blushes and Yui grins up at you. “Sorry, I'm not doing a very good job of being invincible at the moment.”

Yui snorts and runs her hand along your left arm, feeling the bandages through the sleeve. “I don't need dragon-magic to know that's a lie, aniki.” She gets up and you let her go, while Kiki-hime steals a soft kiss from you. “I'll take care of the princess, aniki; you go be Ryukusa-aniki.”

“Damn, you are a switch, aren't you.” You give your girlfriend one last hug and stand up. Kiki smiles and touches her ring to yours, and lets them rub together, the sound a delicious thrilling glass-on-glass noise. “Arigatou, Kiki-hime,” you whisper as she smiles and goes to sit on the couch.

Much calmer and far more focused, you walk into the guest room as Er Yin finishes the final touches on a face-painting in white on Yumiko. It is laid over a silver face painting, similar but different enough to be visible under the black. Kiku is sitting against the wall, facing Yumiko, while Akari is on her right side, at an angle. The tatami mats, the futons, the paper-and-wood walls, the rattan flooring....it looks like you could be back in the training houses of Clan Ryo, except the futons are much nicer.

Akari looks at you, studying you carefully, her expression as placid as ever, but her eyes concerned. Whatever she sees seems to reassure her, and she speaks softly. “I put together a file concerning Hojo Group and their ties to various government organizations. I also found emails and letters from a Catholic organization to them, things you will wish to read, aniki.”

[X] No injuries or harm. We'll go in slow.
[X] I trust your judgment utterly, Akari-chan.
[X] Lets see if I can learn stuff without you coming in right away first.

“You're as bad as you need to be, niji-chan.” Akari actually blushes just a little, and smiles faintly.

Still, you consider the question carefully. She may be someone your sister rescued from the clan, or convinced to step away; she might have done so on her own, or her skills and abilities might have been less suited for what your clan prefers. Yumiko might have angered a higher up and been sent to bodyguard your sister as busywork, or simply to protect the investment that a trained and skilled seer represents.

“I think that we will do this slow and careful. What do you think about me learning what I can without you at first?” It's not quite a perfunctory question. As clever as you are, you prefer straightforward and basic techniques when dealing with others, mostly because you simply like doing things in simple, stylish, and effective ways more than lacking patience or ability. On the other hand, Akari has an understanding that is deeper than most people give Stone dragonettes credit for.

Her consideration of the question is proof enough of that. It takes her a short amount of time, but she does point out two important things. “The fact that her original kidnappers hurt her causally makes the threat of violence more effective, but that might put us in league with them in her mind, aniki. We should definitely try and make ourselves distinct and separate, even if we do plan on violence.” You roll up her sleeve, exposing the bandage that someone had placed. It looks like Hinata-hakase's work, and you would know. “Also, keep in mind she is of the Void, so that means she will have much more flexibility to her mind than you or I.”

“Then, I leave it in your hands, Akari-niji-chan.” You glance at Kiku-chan. “You?”
>>
>>33986424
“Left hand for lies, right hand for truth; I'll be quiet. With her eyes sealed, she won't be able to detect any powers we use, so there is that too, aniki-dragon.” You give her a pained wince, and she sticks her tongue out at you.

“All right. Let's start this.”

Akari steels herself and reaches for the seal, but Kiku-chan interrupts her. “Let Ryukusa-aniki do that – she's learned a new way, Akari-san.” You nod and take the paper charm away, using your left hand. The ofuda immediately ignites, bright blue flame consuming it utterly, causing you no pain at all. Akari seems non-plussed, of course.

Hebe Yumiko blinks slowly, her eyes clouded over by the magic as you use your Water eyes and Akari prepares to grab her if she starts fighting. You immediately speak up. “Hebe Yumiko....”

[X] Your kidnappers have been defeated, but you may be in trouble.
[X] Breaking that ice Ryukusa style.

You open your Water Eyes, gazing at this rather prettily made up dragonette that serves your sister. Naturally, fear is foremost in her, but there is some control over it. Not as much as perhaps a well trained member of Clan Ryo would have, but certainly enough that she isn't going to panic easily. Despite her apparently conservative and dully colored kimono, the black lace of her slip and the matching choker and hair band indicate a person who just barely skirts the edges of acceptable in her workplace and given half the chance would cut loose.

She is a fastidious, neat person, organized and thoughtful. Yumiko can be exceptionally patient, waiting until the last moment for the perfect comment, note, or interruption. She relies on her sense of the Void for such matters more than having skill or preparation, which can be a double edged sword for her. Her loyalty towards your sister is real enough, but it is the loyalty of someone who understands the responsibilities and position of her employer, rather than a personal sort of loyalty. Her feelings towards Clan Ryo are ambivalent at best, but she knows very well to be afraid of those in power.

“....you may be wondering why I've asked you here today, and it's a very good question.” You let a few seconds tick by. “Now that we got that out of the way, your kidnappers have both been defeated. Despite that, it is entirely possible you may be in quite a bit of trouble.” To her credit she remains still, and relatively calm, though she's now quite nervous about her situation. “You haven't been blinded permanently, but I promise that the person who did that is ten times the sorceress you are. Ryuu Jinyuu is safe as well, being held somewhere else.” another sharp stab of fear, but she mostly quells that.

“I have to have the answers to a few questions. First of all....why exactly were you assigned to work for Ryuu Jinyuu? Please save me the trouble of explaining how much I know about Clan Ryo, Void dragonette. Suffice it to say that I know enough.”

Yumiko licks her lips slowly. “I understand. I was assigned to Ryuu Jinyuu as a bodyguard, but I was also expected to make note of important people she met with and especially any of Clan Ryo she met with.” Her voice is very soft, almost breathless. Really quite alluring, if you had time to admire it. You notice that Kiku raises her right hand – truthful so far.

“Clan Ryo was spying on its own members?”

“Yes, oujo-sama. I don't know why.” Another right hand. Akari gestures, and you nod, already having planned on asking the question she proposed.

“Who were you reporting to, and who assigned you?”

“I was assigned by Oba-san, but I reported to Ryuu Hauko and Ryuu Wakaba.” Your oni-born cousin, that stupid bastard whose tetsubo you cut in half and whose ass you kicked on your recognition by Oba-san as worthy of the clan....and a stone dragonette three years your senior, and something of a bitch. Kiku is indicating she's telling the truth.

“I see. Then....”

So to sum it up
Obasan put her to spy on our sister, specifically to focus on visiting clan/family members. that would be people like us. not unexpected.

Is semi long term sealing harmful? If we could just leave her sealed for a few weeks it will solve a lot of problems
>>

It can be, because spirit children do need to eat and drink. Depends on who is doing the seals.

Shit this thread got quiet, huh.

[X] Ask about her exact orders.
[X] Ask about what she reported so far.
[X] Explain to her she's in a secure location.

“....let me explain to you a thing or two. First, you are in a secure location. No one you of any import knows you are here and obviously we can seal you and your powers whenever we like. You are incommunicado unless I allow it. Second, you will remain here until I am satisfied with all the answers you give. I won't bother explaining the penalties for lying, because you and I both know there isn't much point in lying to me, and really, I am not that interested in hurting you.” You let that sink in, and you can see she's already starting to try and work her way around the problem, contemplating the boundaries she can stretch the truth to without lying.

Allowing her the illusion of that control for the moment, you continue. “Tell me your EXACT orders, please, wont you?”

It takes her a moment to contemplate, but she starts off well enough it seems. “Oba-san told me to report to her the names of any of the Ministry of the Interior, anyone associated with the Self Defense Forces, and any of the Diet that consulted Jinyuu-sensei. She also told me to report directly to her if anyone from Clan Ryo consulted with Jinyuu-sensei, and if I couldn't, to tell only Wakaba-san, not Hauko-san.” More right hand. Poor Akari might not get to play bad cop at all.

“And did you report any such things?”

“I did, though the only visitors from Clan Ryo were Kumatori Kiku, and Ryuu Ryukusa. Ryukusa-san visited while I was away, I do not know if the other secretary was under any such orders.” She licks her lips again, her nerves becoming taut. Two right hands and a left hand. That's too bad, she was doing so well.

[] Ask her how certain of that last bit she is.

I honestly don't see the importance of her orders beyond "spy on sister"
this is to be expected from obasan, heck, consider akari's orders.

The real question is whether or not she is willing to join us in rebellion against obasan or not. We should steer the discussion towards such things as clan loyalty, our sister, obasan, etc.

If we can't trust her, then we have several options. we can just drop her off somewhere.
Or seal her for prolonged time period. Or whatever.

I should note that the harsher the interrogation, the more likely it is she will choose obasan over us. we are not exactly endearing ourselves to her at the moment

We never met her, what could she have told them about us? unless our sister blabbed to her and she repeated what sister said to her. which we are better off asking sister.

Asking a spy to divulge the actual specific info they acquired is asking them to betray their job quite thoroughly. I would rather not put her on the defensive for useless info when we could focus on what appears to be pointless unimportant stuff that is actually what we are really after (her personal relationships and emotions).
>>
[X] Assume the obvious true answer, and move on.
[X] “Do you know why you were reporting?”

You're certain she knows the other secretary was also told to report – at the very least, the redundancy of the other secretary writing your arrival down made certain that Yumiko would be aware you did visit. “She'll be spoken to as well, regardless. Do you know why you were reporting those visitations?” Yumiko isn't exactly a novice at interrogations; she has already put two and two together, you can see it in her expression. She is pretty sure you couldn't give a flying fuck about the politicians. That's all right. It just lets you concentrate on the important things.

She seems to consider for a moment, and when she speaks, her voice has changed slightly. More confident, less breathless. “Oba-san thought there was a subversive element in Clan Ryo, and wanted to make sure that no loyalties were in question. I think she expected anyone from Clan Ryo who wished to escape or at least leave the clan would contact Jinyuu-sensei for advice or direction.” Kiku is frowning and shakes her head, seeming confused. You can sympathize, because apparently Yumiko is calling on a Void ability and confusing the power of your Water Eyes as well as Kiku's Fire eyes. You're having a harder time reading her emotions and her thought processes.

You lay your finger across her lips, and immediately her focus falters. Kiku nods, her Fire eyes still working, and you can see that she's quite shocked. She's wondering what gave her away, and how you knew exactly how to counter it. “Lets not do that again, please. It's a simple enough technique, but I have a hot date tonight and I'd rather not waste any more time than absolutely necessary, you know?” You lift your finger, and look down at her.

“....gomen....” she murmurs, her pale cheeks flushed.

“So....why were you reporting those visitations from Clan Ryo? Subversive elements doesn't really quite sound like something your Oba-san would be interested in.”

Her hesitation is more genuine this time, but she answers. “Oba-san said that it was because she wanted to make sure no one in Clan Ryo was seeking out weaknesses in other groups or clans....but I think it was something else. I think she was interested in specific people.” That gets you a right hand from your personal lie-detector.

When she licks her lips again, you pull a cup from ~Nowhere~ and fill it with water, taking care to make it as silent and unobtrusive as possible. Akari nods in agreement with your assessment. “Now, I'm going to lift your head, and give you some water. You won't give me any trouble, right?”

“Hai.” Another right hand from Kiku reassures you that she won't do something stupid. You carefully lift her head, leaning over her to deliver the cool water. She sips slowly, and you give her several more, before she nods that she's had enough. “Thank you.”

“Don't mention it. Now, what about Ryuu Hauko and Ryuu Wakaba. Tell me about them.”

“Hauko-san is an oni-child of Fire. He was just recently promoted to the duty roster, and he just takes what I say and delivers it all to Oba-san as far as I know. Wakaba-san....” Kiku has her right hand raised here, but it is Yumiko's reaction to thinking of Wakaba that concerns you. There's some real fear there, and it's not the 'I am afraid because of my current situation' type fear but the 'just remembering that shit is spooky, man' kind of fear. “Wakaba-san seems to take this thing very personally, like there is someone specific she is interested in. Another stone dragon-child she keeps asking me about, a girl with a jade mask. But she keeps specifying that it has to be a jade oni mask. And she always twists her hand around the hilt of her odachi when she talks about the other dragonette, in a way that is....distressing.” Kiku, with an angry look that hides her concern, lifts her right hand.

“A nervous tic, you mean, or a masochistic habit?” You're concerned as well, because it sounds like an obsessional psychosis or a neurotic behavior. Akari is just calmly waiting, placid and unconcerned as ever.

“....I think that she wants to hurt that other dragonette.” The right hand signal isn't really necessary, but you nod an acknowledgement.

[X] Have you explained this to Oba-san?
[X] So, what am I to do with you now?
[X] Write in: Ask about Onee-san, Kiku-chan, and Ryuk- um, yourself.

It takes you a moment to consider your options. You glance at Kiku, who holds up the ofuda that she made specifically for Yumiko, indicating her desire to seal the girl and get her out of here. You glance at Akari, and Akari blinks at you, then looks at Yumiko. She then looks back at you and mimes jigaki – cutting her own throat. By which she means sending Yumiko back to Oba-san would likely end in death if Jinyuu-onee-san wasn't with her – failure to protect the person she was assigned to, combined with being interrogated would be more than a black mark.

Kiku-chan has lowered the ofuda as well, her expression one of consternation.

“Did you tell Oba-san your concerns about Wakaba?” you find yourself asking. The worried expression is more intense than before.

“Not....no, I did not bring it up under those terms. She seemed very....pleasant and happy, whenever she discussed her. As if she were forcing herself to be happy. Or hiding her true feelings.” Yumiko hesitates. “I am certain that Oba-san was not interested in the girl, because when I asked about her, I was told very shortly that Oba-san knew about her already. So....there did not seem to be a good reason to tell Oba-san about the girl with the oni-mask and Wakaba's interest in her.” It clear to you that she's trying to justify these things in her head, but what is really going on is that the Void spoke to her, and she did as the Void suggested as opposed to what her training told her she should do. Even Kiku-chan seems unsure about the truth of that matter, shrugging to you.
>>
>>33989171

“What about Jinyuu-san. You were assigned to protect her, and clearly you failed several times over.” Of course she probably realized she was outclassed right from the start, so you can't blame her. That won't necessarily protect her from Oba-san.

“Is she all right?”

“Yes, I promise she is fine, for now. You have my word.”

Yumiko relaxes a little and then shakes her head, her milky eyes glistening. “I tried to do as well as I could....but they had THAT sword. And it was two of the kami-born, Great-Kami born. Even Oba-san cannot expect me to fight them.” She lifts a hand but it obvious she is going to cover her wounded arm, and she does. The euphemism for the Grass-Cutting Blade is common among your kind. “Still....she is a very special person. She is kind as well, and though she doesn't approve of my ties to the Clan, she was still very understanding.” That was a little defensive....interesting.

“Did Hinata-san ever show up?”

“No....though there were several visits from the miko dragonette. Kumatori Kiku. I thought it very strange, but Oba-san seemed disappointed instead of interested. I did overhear one conversation, concerning reincarnation and kami, but it was nothing unusual for spiritualists to be discussing, so I never mentioned the subject to Oba-san, only their meeting. Oba-san seemed uninterested in those meetings.” She pauses for a while, and you let her think. “I sometimes wondered why Hinata-sensei didn't show up herself, but Wakaba-san said that scorpions hid during the day. But I know she isn't a scorpion youkai-born.”

“And about Ryukusa-san?”

Her nerves are back, and she speaks softly, as though afraid she'll be overheard. But you can see the tension in her, and Akari does as well. Kiku has the ofuda ready. “When I saw Ryukusa-san's name on the visitation sheet....I didn't realize it was Ryuu Ryukusa. Because when I read it it was written, Ryu Ryu Kuro. Like....a second black dragon. And she arrived at four-forty-four. But my eyes cleared, and it was at four-thirty-one. But I saw it right, the Void was warning me. Ryukusa-san is death. But I don't think she's a killer....I think she is going to bring death. But I don't know how or too whom.”

Akari looks at you expectantly, while Kiku-chan shakes her head slowly.

“Well, that is a void dragonette for you. What kind of ice cream do you prefer?”

“Choc....what?”

“Chocolate, or chocolate chip?”

“....chocolate....fudge brownie?”

“You don't seem very certain,” you warn her just as seriously, though a smirking Kiku is holding up her right hand.

“It is!” She seems a little alarmed now.

“Well, in any case, I have a job offer for you. If you take it, you can see Jinyuu-san, but you won't be allowed to leave. If you refuse, you will be sealed away, and taken somewhere in Tokyo, then released. But I do not have high hopes for you if you are caught by Clan Ryo, since I am being honest too. Still, we'll make sure you are nice and far away from them and their minions.”

You watch with Water Eyes as the thoughts flit and coalesce and change, and she speaks very softly and firmly – and most importantly, with the earnest dedication of someone who has decided they wish to do right by another. “I don't care about your job, just take me to Jinyuu-sensei, please.”

“All right. Don't make any sudden moves, please. I'm going to release the spell that makes you blind, but not the one that prevents you from using your Void eyes. And really, it's just a bad idea to use them here anyways.” You carefully touch your left index fingernail to the white paint and it bursts into blue flame. She opens the prettiest red eyes, the only thing that makes the red-and-orange obi make sense with all those greys and blacks she wears. They widen as she looks up at you, and you give her a little finger wave.

“Hi. Kiku-chan, please let Jinyuu-onee-sama know her secretary is awake and I didn't like, strangle her or knife her or anything?”

“Hai, aniki-dragon.” You sigh, and looks at Akari

“Sorry, you didn't get to play bad cop at all. Next time.”

“Yes, aniki.”

Yumiko is sitting up, staring at you like you have two heads. You smile at her, which seems to make her even more nervous. “As for you, you still won't be allowed to leave. I've got too many people to protect. Among them is my older sister, who seems to like you a great deal. So, be a good girl, and don't cross me.” Your let the smile fade. “Because your vision was very close to correct. I am not a very good person to be on the wrong side of....and Oba-san has very much made certain that she is on the very wrong side.” You stand up slowly, and smile again, but it's the other smile, that special smile.

“Hidesato and Kushinada both learned that I like my lilies more than I care about their lives. I did defeat them both. So keep that in mind before you try to run away please. I'm doing all of this to protect my family. You aren't part of it yet....but that is ultimately your choice to make.” you lean down and she inhales sharply. “Besides, you have the prettiest eyes,” you murmur, looking into them.

Her blush is incredibly deep, and it goes from her cheeks, down her neck, and very likely under her slip.

“Aka-chan, please don't tease poor Yumiko-san. I don't think she's ever considered such things.” Jinyuu is smiling gently, and seems much relieved, though there is a trace of underlying tension.

Standing up, you look at your sister. “That's too bad, I think she'd enjoy it.” You lightly run the tip of your tail along Yumiko's back and she jumps with a shocked squeak. “Sorry for scaring you, onee-sama. But, she's not allowed to leave – Oba-san would be unhappy with her at this point, at the very least.” Your sister's eyes slide down, and she nods. You turn back to Yumiko. “Ciao, red-eyes. Play nice with my sister.”

“Aka-chan!” That sounds much more like your sister does when she's not mad at you.

“Bai bai!” You slip out quickly, and shut the door, slumping against it. “Kami damn it. Next time, you can do all the work, Akari-niji-chan!”

Kiki-hime and Yui-chan both giggle and snicker respectively, and Kiku shakes her head and mutters dire insults, you're sure.

“No thank you, you're aniki.”

“UGH! I'M TAKING A SHOWER!” You stomp away much more effectively than Kiku-chan.

Glad you all enjoyed. Sorry for the slow posts. always hard to do interrogations.

One last question.

Who is goign to help Ryukusa in the shower?
[] Akari, the careful one.
[] Yui, the adoring one.
[] Kiki-hime, the loving one.
[] Kiku-chan, the delicate one.
[] Er Yin, the grateful one.

Max occupancy in the shower is 3.
>>
>>33990105
ALL THAT TENSION. AND THEN THIS CUTENESS.

HNNNNNNG.
>>
>>33990133
But there are more than one pair of Pants in this family anon, it is a complex Pant-wearing-System in which Pants are worn within Pants...
It's a Pant-ception!

My favorites of the harem
>>
>>33990302
[x] Kiki-hime, the loving one.
Akari and Yui get their time tonight.
>>
>>33990302
>[] Kiki-hime, the loving one.
>[] Kiku-chan, the delicate one.

There is never enough teasing of the Kiku.

Does Yumiko want to be our onee-sama's lily?
>>
>>33990302

Akari and Yui.
They couldn't wait till evening and wanted to start the festivities early...
>>
>>33990156
I don't think the shower can fit THAT many, anon.
>>
>>33990302
>[x] Kiku-chan, the delicate one.
>[x] Er Yin, the grateful one.
Perfect coverage.
>>
>>33990302
Well, if you just tell me what I need to know, it'll go a lot easier
>>
>>33990302
>[] Kiku-chan, the delicate one.
>[] Kiki-hime, the loving one. IF SHE ASKS.
Akari and Yui are expecting their night.
Er Yin is appointed to a date.
Kiku is too useful not to be rewarded. Besides, Er Yin controls the bedroom, we need to establish our own territory.

>>33990302

YOU OWE US, XS! I CAN'T GET THE MENTAL IMAGE OUT!
>>
Two things answered.

It's been asked before: No, not every 100 year old object becomes a kami. It must be used, valued, respected, cared for, and treated with consideration. If it does, and it is 100 years old, it can then become a kami, and brings fortune to those processes it is part of, and as long as the respect, care, and use is continued, it will remain a kami and can even grow stronger. If it is later neglected, it may lose the power and fortune, or even cause trouble for the owner.

People will note that I use their first names and add the honorifics, rather than last names. This is because so many characters share last names in this quest, it is logistically a nightmare to be avoided. Also, Ryukusa herself mangles them entirely. That's because she doesn't think of people the way others do.

>>33990302
Hardest decision of the week.

>[X] Kiki-hime, the loving one.
>[X] Kiku-chan, the delicate one.

Sisters. SISTERS!
>>
>>33990302

>[X] Kiki-hime, the loving one.
>[X] Kiku-chan, the delicate one.
>[X] Er Yin, the grateful one.

Combined with Akari and Yui being on schedule for tonight, this means we have perfect coverage.

Must have the sisters together at some point!

>Also, Ryukusa herself mangles them entirely. That's because she doesn't think of people the way others do.
what does this mean?
>>
>>33990302
Akari and Kiki, we still have healing wounds.
>>
>>33990451
3 max, anon, and that includes Ryukusa.
>>
I'll collect the votes later and work on things and stuff.

Take care all.
>>
>>33990362
Then it is time to call our yakuza girl and tell her about our new idea for a petting cafe.
>>
>>33990516
Awwww. No answers to our onee-sama's love life?

Thanks for running like always!
>>
>>33990302
Going to have to agree, >The Sisters
Though, we need to start mixing up the harem up a bit so everyone can cuddle with each other.
>>
>>33990492
Pretty much Ryukusa sees people in a different way. She uses honorifics in weird combos (Miko-Kiku-chan, instead of Kiku-sama, Jinyuu-onee-sama, Akari-niji-chan, instead of Akari-kohai or Akari-kai). Her priorities are skewed.
>>
>>33990522
We need to get her an everloli. Or simply a petite girl
>>
>>33990354
No. She doesn't consider such things. She might start to though.

Goodnight.
>>
>>33990638
>Intentionally getting someone cursed by a nekomata
Pretty sure that's bad karma.
>>
>>33990726
I didn't say that. I just meant that we should hook up our friend with someone that fit her tastes.

So probably a petite and sadistic girl
>>
>>33990302
Kiki and Er Yin

We Boom Kung now
>>
>>33990726
>>33990801
Doesn't she control a gang and related businesses? There shouldn't be a drought of girls spending money or looking for jobs.
