------------------------------------------------------

The path forward blocked by a metal plague, the way behind haunted by predators, below is nothing but the dead heart of your world. No choice but to go up.

You call a stop and the magna carts halt their rearward progress. The group leaves them behind and climbs a ladder up to the next sub-level. All hope to leave the gloomy red lit, Insecticon infested levels for a better path.

You don't get your hopes up.

Mind on the mysterious messages on Teletraan1 and the reappearance of your batch-brother Cetus you make the climb in silence. The others keep quiet as well, sensing the tension in you. Or they were just miserable.

The next level proves to be another crimson layer of tunnels so the group continues to climb. The top of the ladder emerges into a cavernous series of rooms. All lined with blinking modules and whirring machinery you couldn't begin to explain.

You set off in a likely direction. With Copper leading the way across ledges and bridges that probably haven't seen traffic in centuries. Pale white lights line the floor and didstant intervals.

Gyro, Rewire and Arclight move in the center of the group. Arclight has the junky slung over one shoulder and the energon converter under the other arm. Dasher walks a bit behind them, optics gazing about in wonder. You march stiffly at the back, audio receptors open but mind else where.

It had been tens of thousands of years since you last saw Cetus. The cold inventor was a recluse, he never contacted you or your batch-sisters for any reason. For him to show up speaking of coming floods and other nonsense.

You growl.

Then there was whoever was leaving you messages on Teletraan. It took suppream skill to use the worldwide super computer that way. You doubt it was anything but serious.

Dasher hears you growl and looks back over her shoulder.

"You all right Kracken?"

>"My brother is attacking me, some joker is leaving me messages in a warzone, my hull aches, and I have no clue what's going on."
>"Don't worry about it. Keep your attention on the surroundings."

"Fine" you rumble at her.

She shrugs and turns away.

Gritting your teeth you keep marching. The path is winding, taking you up and down stair cases and through arches to other cavernous rooms.

'A flood is coming..' your brothers' voice echoes in your head. Then the message claiming you were a beast.

Could be speaking about your alt but... that seems to obvious. Pointless even. There were others with aquatic alts, monstrous ones as well.

Lost in thought you almost run into Dasher. The group has stopped and you see Copper up ahead.

He has one palm raised in your direction and is hiding behind a palisade and looking off into the distance.

Creeping up to him, body low, you whisper.

"What you got?"

"Bid group." he says. "Doing something..."

You focus your audio receptors and listen. The faint sounds of a scuffle greet you.

You think for a moment. You need to reach the surface, but whoever was out there could use help.

"We should check it out." you whisper.

"Right." Copper says. "Who's goin'?"

You look back over your group. Gyro would be low on power and both Arclight and Copper wer not what you would call stealthy.

That left Dasher, Rewire and you.

In the distance you hear an angry shout.

>Go alone.

>>
>>33993239
>>33993280

You look to Dasher.

"You and me kid, we're going down there and taking a look."

She nods and moves up next to you.

Placing a hand on her shoulder you say, "If things go bad, you run back here and get everyone moving. Got it?"

"Yeah sure. No problem."

Edging around the palisade you ease yourself down over the ledge.Hanging from one hand you swing yourself then let go. The fall is short and you make barely a sound upon landing. Moving forward you hide behind a machines.

Looking back you see Dasher drop down without a sound then rush over to your position.

Nodding to her you press on.

Moving under the cover of darkness, which was ample considering the lights were so few in the area, the two of you creep your way around modules covered in tiny LEDs and large rotating arm-like machines. Pumps by the look of them.

As you reach where the sounds are coming from you find yourselves overlooking a large space. Several platforms line the walls and a massive floor area dominates the center. There are a number of exits on the upper levels. Crate of empty energon storage cubes are stacked everywhere.

The scene below you makes you grumble. The NAILs who had left the group had been rounded up and bound, then made to kneel before their captors.

Around them were a dozen Cons, at their head a Seeker of varying shades of green. Next to him was a smaller Con covered in grey.

The NAIL ringleader was being smacked around. His assailant a small and lithe Con of bronze and purple.

You can hear the angry voice of the Seeker speaking loudly.

"Where are the ones who scrapped Sunstorm?"

"Rust off!" the ringleader shouts before getting kicked to the ground.

>You need to help them.
>They got themselves into this mess, leave them.

>Wait and listen
They're going to execute someone on principal. When the gun comes out, have dasher take his own shot. Then, when we drop down in beast mode, have dasher free them. We'll eat the Seeker before he figures out what's happening, then Dasher can rouse the others and lead them back to our group. We'll delay the cons exactly five minutes, then lead them into the trap Copper will set for them.
>>
>>33993722
We have 6 effectives, right?

Have dasher get back to the others, tell them about the situation and have them get as close as they can before launching a surprise attack. In the meantime, we'll get close to the captives - when the shooting starts, we rush in, kill anyone directly threatening them and get them free.

After that, improvise.

Dasher taps your should. She clearly wants to help them and is looking to you for a plan.

You look down at the assembled Con, then back to her.

"Go get the others," you whisper "and get them over here. Have them get as close as possible then attack."

She frowns with worry.

"Don't worry, I'll get them out."

Slowly at first, she gets up and moves back the way you came.

Turning back you make a mental path and begin creeping your way forward.

Over the lip of another edge, around whirring machinery and stacks cubes, you slowly make your way behind the NAILs.

"We don't know what your talking about!" you hear the ringleader say. His then cries out in pain.

"Listen," the Seeker says, "I know you and your little group don't have what it takes to hurt Sunstorm, let alone scrap him. I want to know who did." Another cry of pain.

Back against some cubes your within teleport range. This is as close as you will get without taking risks.

Deciding to wait you transform. Your tentacles coil underneath you and slowly creep along the cube you are hiding behind. You red optics glow faintly in the dark.

Another cry of anguish rings out.

"You're not gonna get anything from him like that." a gravely voice says. A voice that sounds familiar.

"Right. Leave him and move on to the next." the Seeker says.

"No!"

The sound of another transformer getting beaten reaches your audio receptor. Your teeth spin in your maw.

As you find yourself reaching the limit chaos breaks loose. The sound of blaster fire fills the air followed by the boom of a cannon.

It's time.

The Cons return fire. Their energy blasts sizzle along the upper level to no effect. One Con goes down with a smoking hole through his gut.

One Con, who has the nerve to hide behind the prisoners, hears a strange sound. He looks up.

Above him is nothing but teeth.

You land on the Con and bite down. Your teeth dig into his chest and shear right through his arms. Gulping him down you roar over the heads of the NAILs.

>Energon Reserve-52/171

The Cons are in disarray. The Seeker has taken to the air and the lithe little one is busy dodging shots. The small grey one hasn't budged, sitting on a cube and watching you intently.

You spear your tentacles out and sever the bindings of the four closest NAILs.

"Go! Free the others and get clear!" you say tearing the bindings of a fifth.

"Slag that!" the ringleader yells as he gets free. Rotating his hands he charges the lithe bronze Con to the ground and the two start wrestling for dominance.

Around you the energy barrage has lessened. You look up and see the green Seeker strafing your comrades with jets of pressurized acid. The yellow/green liquid melting through their cover and the upper levels' floor.

A few of the NAILs have turned to free the rest while two others rush the Con grunts.

"Wait in line." you say.

Lashing out with your tentacles one bounces off his forearms. The rest squeeze between the cube he is on the the ones next to it and you heave.

It tilts up and the grey Con windmills his arms for balance.

"Hey!" he yells.

With a snarl you heave again and send the heavy cube and its occupant tumbling back.

As he falls you hear another rumble of falling objects. Looking behind you you see the structure your comrades are on collapse as the acid eats through it.

Machinery and cubes crash together in a great ruckus as it falls apart. You catch a glimpse of Copper shielding someone.

You snarl.

>A tie eh?

You stuff the green Seeker into your mouth and begin chewing. Your rotating teeth grind his hull and tears him to pieces slowly.

>Energon Reserve-70/171

With the other you heft him up and hold his body like a javelin. Carefully, you take aim at Dashers' pursuers.

>Roll 4 successes!

Drawing the Con back you move a pace forward and throw. Your tentacles uncoil around him and he flies out like a spear, soaring through the air and slamming into one of the Cons. This causes the speeding Cybertronian to slam into his partner next to him and the two of the crash into a pillar. Shortly after Copper slams into them from the rear.

Dasher swerves around another pillar and shouts with joy. She proceeds to make her way to the others.

The Cons here are not having it as bad as their fellows. The bronze one has her arm around a NAIL and is using him like a shield, her back pressed against the only other Con still standing who is trying desperately to fend off Gyros attacks. The other one has gone down under a pile of NAILs.

You finish gulping the Seeker down with a crunch...

>Energon Reserve-75/171

... and that is when the lights go out.

Everything around you seems to go still as all the machinery stops and you find yourself in absolute darkness. The only sounds are those of Dasher and Coppers' engines and the scuffle of the other group.

Goddamn do we need xray vision.

>Other (please specify)
Feel around where the last con who attacked us fell, try to pick her up and use her as a shield in the direction of Gyro's group. Make our way towards the sounds of fighting.

Not all bots are forged with sense mods. Why else would Cybertron be COVERED in lights? Also any mods Kracken may have had have degenerated long ago.
>>34002117
>>34002189

This does not bode well you think. All your senses jump to their highest sensitivity and you coil your tentacles protectively.

The sounds of the others still fighting reaches your audio receptor and you decide to get them to stop.

"Stop!" you call out. Nothing greets you but grunts and angry shouts. In the darkness you can see faint figures lit up by the soft glow of spilled energon.

"STOP!" you bellow.

Slowly the fighting ceases and you hear a voice you don't recognize.

"Back off!"

"Get away from us." another adds.

You slowly creep towards where the group was.

"Everyone back." you say.

>"Alright Cons, your outnumbered and outgunned. Time to surrender."
>"We don't have time for this. Can anyone see anything?"

>Woo another tie.

Coming up to the group you see they're all covered in lightly glowing energon. At least keeping track of everyone wont be hard.

Dasher and Copper arrive and transform.

"We don't have time for this. Can anyone see anything?"

A chorus of noes greet you until Gyro says "One moment." She calls for Arclight to come to them and when she does the two of them transform. Light fills the darkness as they turn their lights on and illuminate the surroundings.

"Alright," you say turning to the Decepticon survivors "Cons, your outnumbered and outgunned. Time to surrender."

"Why should we?" the bronze one says, her arm still around a NAILs' neck.

"Because if you don't the lights go off and I eat you."

She grimaces at that, then releases the NAIL. He quickly stumble to the rest of the group.

"So what now?" the other Con warrior asks.

"Now we get out o' here." Copper says.

"Before whatever killed the lights shows up." you add.

"What are you talking about?" the bronze Con says. "The lights went out because Cybertron is shutting down, haven't you heard?" The sneer in her voice is evident.

"Let's hope that's all it is." you say.

"Alrighty," Copper says in his usual jovial tone. "You slaggers, drop any weapons yer carryin'. Any supplies too."

"Oh rust off." the Con warrior says.

"We are not disarming down here." the bronze one says. "I don't like what he," she points at you, "is implying."

"You'll disarm or I'll..." your voice trails off. In the distance, high above you, you see two clusters of purple lights.

>"RUN!"
>"Everyone in cover now!"

"Everyone in cover now!" you yell. Such is the urgency in your voice that almost all comply immediately. The Cons and a couple of NAILs take longer than you would have liked.

You scramble behind a piece of ruined machinery and are joined by Gyro and a NAIL you don't know. The three of you huddle low.

"The slag do we do?" Gyros' voice was dripping with worry.

"Wait," you say. "try to get around it when we can."

The NAIL is murmuring a prayer to Primus.

Seconds pass, then minutes.

All you hear is faint shuffling of the others and a distant thud-thud-thud of the big Cybertronians' tread.

It was certainly taking its sweet time.

You wait, tentacles coiled beneath you, in the darkness that seemed to consume the area.

Suddenly there was light.

High above you a brilliant white light was shining, floating in the air like a star.

"It's Blancorvus!" someone shouts and you start.

Looking up you see a gleaming white flyer, his body sleeker and more angular than the Seekers you had previously seen. In his hands was a large glowing sword, illuminating the entire room with its brilliance.

It was indeed Blancorvus, shining knight of Cybertron, the Senates' Arbiter.

As he slowly drifts down a series of thumps can be heard. You see four rocket contrails spiraling up towards the shining Cybertronian, which he deftly dodges in mid air. He spears one in the side with his sword then flicks it away. The rockets explode behind him, almost drowning out his light with their own.

In the distance, well away from where the rockets were fired from, you hear the sound of another gunships' engines.

"Unicron take this entire sludge filled room." you grumble.

That will be all for tonight.
Questions, concerns, comments and what not welcome.

Also how did you guys like the fight against Acidstorm? I was trying for a more cinematic thing than the others.

Thanks for running. It was nice having a fight that didn't feel like we were destined to lose.

>>
>>34003500
Actually, I do have a question - were you expecting us to interact more with the grey con?

The dice were kind to us today. Also I've been trying to figure how to make it more like two opposing forces than you attack than the opponent attacks and you defend. Hope I'm pulling it off.

>>34003816
Not in a bad way I hope.

>>34003851
It was intended as a fun little bit with a bot Kracken had previously arrested, nothing importent
>>
>>34004051
It's weird in that Blancorvus appearing is sort of a non-sequitor. Cetus chasing us with more gunship-kuns is a logical progression, but this guys is like 'and then, suddenly, an angel appears!'
>>
>>34004100
True, but I had always intended for him to just kind of show up. I feel like our time on Cybertron has kinda dragged on to be honest, I had only intended it to last maybe 10 threads max. I could be rushing things. Can't really explain it without spoiling things to come.

Cetus might not be the only one looking for us.
>>
>>34004183
Great. We might not be batman, but we certainly seem to have a rogue's gallery gunning for us.
