You are Sireyi Valyenya, 18 years old, you are on your first quest.

You have retrieved the Horn of Alzurad: a legendary artefact that can call dead heroes back to fight for the holder of the Horn. But now you’re lost on another plane, trying to find your way home.

You cast your spell and seek out the dreams of Ellahi.

You find yourself in the City of Arrowgate, except, it’s not the city of Arrowgate. The streets are clean, there are no beggars or thieves.

As you walk through the city to Ellahi’s house you see demon-bloods treating humans with respect. Everyone hear is happy and smiling.

You knock on Ellahi’s door only for it to be opened by a happy and cheerful Angelique “Sireyi” she say, excited “Welcome back, I’ll tell Ellahi you’re here.” She looks...different somehow, and it’s not just the happiness, as she turns to go, you realise her hair has turned grey, and she’s not moving as fast as she used to.

Angelique shows you in to the sitting room. Ellahi joins you. She is hunched over and her face is lined with wrinkles, what little hair she has is white, and she walk with the help of two sticks.

“Ah Sireyi” she gasps out “Welcome back, what do you think of the United Kingdoms of Drache? It took centuries, but we did it.”

>Yes, you did
>This is a dream Ellahi, but I’m real

Okay you non-autists, are we agreed that we will use the death ray on warrior?
>>
>>34062241
Sort of
I'm fine with using it on warrior but what do we do about ruler afterwards?
>>
>>34062241
Yes, it'll be like a Reverse Yavin. Though it depends on what the Warrior's Capital Ship looks like. Are we aware of that, or will be have to fly over and locate it before firing?
>>
>>34062277
Apparently the sdame thing again, because surely he won't expect that.

Well, we certainly can't use it on the Planet/Ruler, so the Warrior is the only real option.

>>
>>34062324
There are so many big angry red guys in the Imperial Army.
>>
“Yes you did” you say

She sits down in a chair, slowly and with evident pain “Well, I didn’t do it alone” she says, lost in her memories “And it took so long to unite the kingdoms, wars, revolutions, motions in the houses, but we finally won equality before the law for all peoples, humans, demons, elves, giants, everyone. We set them free, and made them equal.”

She cackles “Hah, do you remember when you first came to see me, all those years ago? We had some fun, didn’t we?”

“We did” you say, “But I’m not here to talk about old times, you realise this is a dream, right? A beautiful one, but still a dream.”

She looks at you in confusion, her mouth hanging open

Until we fully commit to making this "Villainous supreme overlord of Joy" quest, tearing city-sized grooves into the planet is out of the question. For now Warrior is the only demon that can be conveniently targeted with the weapon.
>>

Its works on him even better because he will be a static target. assuming he doesn't expect a city buster weapon, then he will go into hiding where we won't find him. Or in some heavily populated city.

The plane has been at the Ruler's mercy for approximately 3000 years.

We literally asked deitys if the horn can defeat the warrior. Do you really think they didn't figure his army into it ? This kind of thing is exactly what it exists for. Its used to repell demon INVASIONS thats its purpose.

These late fags
>>
>>34062477
The plan back than was that we teleport right next to Warrior and only have to fight against his honour guard and what not.
We were never going to fight a whole army with the horn, especially with its RECHARGE TIMU.
>>
>>34062477

Well, in a manner of speaking it will be used to carry one out now. From perspective of people here, we, Horn heroes and any extraplanar Konig Krusaders are outsiders.

At any rate, I'd like OP's (Or Sireyi's) opinion on whether portal can be used to circumvent line of sight limitation. And I suppose an option of refining the weapon's attack so that it does less collateral damage would be nice too.
>>
>>34062477
you do understand the horn only summons 150ish heroes right?
it can't stop the drache's 10 million army
>>
>>34062530
And nothing prevents us now from doing exactly that.
It can still fight his army, but we don't actually need that. We drop on his ship, blow horn and wreck him. And have the heroes mop up all the other demons on the ships. Way more efficient than having to shoot several times with the gun to get them all.
>>
>>34062572
Neither can the gun, luckily the entire army won't show up anyway so that is a completly moot point.
>>
“Ellahi, this is a dream, focus” you say

She shakes her head “No damn you” she whispers “I did it, I beat my father, I built a better world from the ruin he created, my friends didn’t die in vain.”

“Ellahi, please” you say “I need to talk to you.”

“Screw you!” she yells “Angel, how many friends have you lost!? Who died for your world!? Your life is so fucking perfect, you wouldn’t understand what I’ve done.”

“Ellahi” you say “I’m sorry to intrude on you, but I need to talk.”

Pictures, images of people swirl around you, humans, demon-bloods, elves, others

“They died but it was worth it!” she screams at you “I beat my father, this world is pure and good, and they didn’t die in vain! I finally washed their blood off my hands, I put things right!”

“You can do that” you say “That’s what I’m trying to help you with, but I need to talk to you.”

Finally Ellahi blurs, and she looks like her normal, young self, she swipes tears from her eyes with her hand and says, totally calm, all business “Fine, what did you want to ask?”

>Ask question (what?)

>>34062540
An actual portal is a Rank 5 spell, and you don't know if it can safely channel a blast from this weapon or not - it might work, it might shut down the portal, or redirect the portal to another location.
>>
>>34062587
With portals, we would only need to shoot one time. I don't think the Ruler is inside our portalling range, so we'll have to make do with taking out the Imperial Navy and watching Drache flip their shit.
>>
>>34062587
>nothing prevents us now from doing exactly that.
Except for Pally specifically saying that Warrior has anti-tele/scry wards meaning we would have to fly in physically or something similarly suicidal.
We were also planning it back when Warrior was NOT with his main army...
Now that he's with his army, I'm completely with the death ray anons (althrough I still don't understand what they plan to do about Ruler afterwards).

>>
>>34062632
He still isn't with his main army, he explicetly left his main army and mobilises a new force here, he was always going to be with a army. And now his military force will be convienently parceled among ships.

>>
>>34062732

It's a point we need to get across. If she will try to force her dream on the empire through force, it will turn out horribly. She needs more 'soft' power, and her tits are not enough.

She has already made it clear she's willing to assasinate the guy for sake of convenience. If this republic shit is to happen, she'll need to get some principles - or at least (or maybe even better) make it seem like she has them.
That MP seemed like a person the new order would benefit from a lot. And especially his wife, which brings me back to point that we should confront and destroy Hanandirac before leaving this place.
>>
>>34062789
we know nothing about the beam though, we don't know how big it is, we don't know what type it is.
all we know is that its strong enough to kill demon lords and it needs line of sight or it will be blasting through alot of material

We are not redeeming people for xp.

I don't think Ruler will even want to be redeemed, or if he will make it seem he is, it will be a trap. Why should he? He was undisputed Ruler for centuries/millenia.

Now, redeeming Hana... I wonder if that would be possible. Why is he even in this plane? Maybe we should have gone to get measure of him when we had a chance at least.
>>
“We need to know when the Warrior will show up on the field. Does he rather lead from the front or from behind?” you ask

“He’ll avoid any fight that he feels is too easy” she says “But show him a challenge and he’ll lead from the front”

“How is the status of the mobilisation?” you ask

“They’ve enough forces to threaten the Island” she says “But with what they have right now, they’d just about make landfall, but then be driven back.”

The dream blurs around you, now neither of you have any clothes on, and you’re in her bath house, sat on the edge of one of the baths.

“If we drive the Ruler into hiding, how reliably can you keep track of his movements?” you ask

“That’d be difficult” she replies “he could move between dozens of locations, use doubles, send messages by couriers, I would find him eventually, but it could take years.”

A rather muscular demon-blood man starts massaging your shoulders, as two naked young women that look suspiciously like Jal and Sofia, approach you, wading through the bath waters.

“What's Ruler up to?” you ask

“Oh the usual” she says “Plots, schemes, setting Houses against one another, so far he’s not doing anything about the rebellion, and he’s leaving the military stuff to the warrior, I think he’s waiting to see who is involved with the rebellion before acting.”

“Does Warrior know what state island's defences are in?” you ask

“He either knows that they are at full strength” she says “Or he’s being cautious, I believe he’ll only attack once he has the 250,000 troops he needs to take the Island.”

“I’m either going to draw the warrior out and use the heroes of the Horn to kill him” you explain “Or kill him using an ancient weapon” you explain about the Huroni weapon you rebuilt.

“I think you should keep that in reserve” she says “Once the Ruler knows about it, he’ll disappear and rule through proxies and catspaws, you won’t find him for years.”

“Do you want to talk about those you lost?” you ask, as you try to fend off the three people trying to get intimate with you.

“Mmmm” says Ellahi, enjoy the attentions of you athletic human men “We can talk about that later...”

>OK, time for me to leave, before this gets out of hand

>Once the Ruler knows about it, he’ll disappear and rule through proxies and catspaws, you won’t find him for years.”
Looks like we do need to find a way to get to the warrior to smash him with the heroes. Maybe we can ambush him on route to the war camp ?
>>
>>34063008
>Flee
Maybe you don't get it.
Hanandrirac isn't *moving* between multiple planes, he exists in them *simultaneously*.
He's like a fucking Old One, kill this bit of him and it only pisses him off.
And Anchor doesn't do shit against interplanar travel.

>>34063036
Just as bad, possibly even worse, Redeeming Touch doesn't work unless the target feels some level of regret.

>>34063121
The reward is exactly the same, it's only your paranoia that the ruler will suddenly become completely invincible if we use the superweapon.
Seriously, we built the damn thing already, if we don't use it we're just going to disassemble it and spies have probably already given the ruler some idea of what it is.
>>
>>34063121
Blowing the horn: We must first break the world barrier which will notify the demon lords. We must sneak close by and use the horn or otherwise lure warrior out into a fight. Benefit of not revealing our death ray (so ruler can be taken unaware) and that blow the horn anon finally gets his dream.

Deathray:Low risk, easy use however low reward and reveals our hand sending ruler into hiding.
>>
>>34063156
>The reward is exactly the same, it's only your paranoia that the ruler will suddenly become completely invincible if we use the superweapon.
It has been just tight now explicetly told to us by someone who would know for sure that we won't get the Ruler if we use the superweapon to early.
We just need to find a way now to get the warrior away from his main army.
>>
>>34063156

Maybe YOU don't get it. At no point has it been suggested that his split residence makes him unkillable. And Demon Lords are obviously killable. Hanandrirac is *almost* as powerful as a demon lord and unlike them probably doesn't have an actual army dedicated to him.

He's a boss, but not an unkillable one. And I will keep thinking that until OP tells me explicitly that it's impossible for us to kill him.
>>
>>34063020
Since you autists wish to go the suicide route than I'll give out my best plan.
We reveal ourselves and our identity (after breaking the barrier) stating that we just came and that we are the strongest yada yada
We than proceed to announce that we wish to fight Warrior mono on mono, if we win blahh blah, if we lose blah blah.
Than we blow the horn
>>
>>34063231
And then his army jumps in and kills us once they overpower the heroes.
>>
>>34063231
>I'll give out my best plan.
Your plan has just been in-universe revealed to be stupid. Let it rest.
And the best way to get to the Warrior is to challenge him before he gets to the army. Ambush him on the route to the camp.

>>34063261
Jumping from the boats ?
>>
>>34063231

That's kinda cheating though.
Let's just nuke him instead.

Also while firing the weapon would force Ruler underground, using the Horn requires breaking the barrier first, which may have the same effect.

For reference, OP, how high estimated death toll would be from nuking Ruler with the superweapon right now?
>>
Having got the answers you want, you leave Ellahi to her entertainments.

What's next on the to-do list?

>Breach the planar barriers
>Build magical weapons/armour
>Discuss evacuating everyone via planar travel with Sofia
>See if Velya or Konig can offer any military support besides the Heroes of the Horn
>Do something else (what?)
>>
>>34063261
We've asked him we wish to fight him mono on mono.
We and him both proceed in front of our armies (chinese war style) and face each other individually.
We promptly blow the horn
i.e. lure him into a one on one fight and than blow the horn
>>
>>34063298
>See if Velya or Konig can offer any military support besides the Heroes of the Horn
>>
>>34063298
>Build magical weapons/armour
mages and manufacturers do this

meanwhile

>Breach the planar barriers
>>
>>34063217
His consciousness is split between dozens of worlds.
He's not powerful in the same way as the demon lords, he's powerful because of his special abilities and borderline invincibility, even by demon standards.
I don't get why you think killing one piece of a larger being is seriously going to hurt it.

>>34063278
>Jumping from the boats
There are flying demons.
It's a pretty common thing.

>>34063302
Yeah, and then they fly up and overpower the heroes.
>>
>>34063261
We have an army of our own, albeit a smaller one, on the Isle of Storms. We should share our Stormwing blueprints and see if we can't do a fire attack on the fleet. Or that storm could set a lot of ships on fire.
>>
>>34063298

>Discuss evacuation of civilians
(Evacuation? Now, in our moment of triumph?)
>>
>>34063291
>OP, how high estimated death toll would be from nuking Ruler with the superweapon right now?

He lives in a palace with a lot of servants, in the middle of a city.

So a few hundred if you got the weapon close enough to be precise.

Or over 10,000 if you shot the city from a far away hill.

The effect of the weapon is a giant beam that can (users choice) create an explosion at point of impact.
>>
>>34063332
I would suggest only breaking the planar barrier once we want to get the fight going. Sofia can blow the horn too, depending on what plan we use.
>>
>>34063334
>thinking any demon can catch us at 500speed
You're missing the point, we and him meet at neutral ground for one on one fight.
Than we blow the horn and rape him.

>There are flying demons.
We would wish to be so lucky of having our main opposition try taking us on the the air were we utterly dominate them.
>>
>>34063334

Bah, if we're talking to the gods, might as well put that question on the list - can they smite this particular demon before he disappears?

Yeah, that really showed the warrior didn't it?
Sure killed him by running away, too bad all those heroes got bogged down and overwhelmed and the Warrior's still alive.

The entire deal about the Warrior is that he is overconfident and cocky as hell. He won't mobilise his entire army to watch his duel. And if we fight him, and then blow the horn, we can still kill him before he gets reinforced by anything but his honor guard. Once he is dead, we teleport away.

You spend time praying to your goddess, with so many plans swirling in your head, some divine guidance would be useful.

Eventually you get through.

“My champion” says Velya “You are well, I trust?”

“Yes My Lady” you say “If I breached the barriers of the Lost Prime, could you or Konig offer any aid? Armies I mean.”

“I don’t have much of an army” responds Velya “As you know, however, I have priests and priestesses who can banish demons, protect soldiers with spells, and heal the wounded.”

“And Konig?” you ask, wondering how he’s going to react to you being part of his family now.

“He has a large army” says Velya “Some are committed on other campaigns, but he could spare perhaps 5,000 church warriors and paladins, I think.”

“So few?” you ask

“He has revealed Sofia’s existence to his priesthood” she says, “And then told them that they must decide for themselves what this means for them. It has resulted in a schism in his church: some believe her existence should be a secret known only to the priesthood, others believe she should be made into the head of the Church, and a tiny minority seek to kill her – seeing her as proof that Konig is fallible, proof that must be removed.”

“Because of this, many of his followers are engaged in conflict with one another” she continues “Mostly its arguments, but sometimes it has erupted into violence.”

“Do you have any other questions?”

>No
>Yes (What?)

>>34063638

He exists on multiple planes, unless you summon and confine him to a single place, he cannot be killed, only wounded.

If he was confined to a single location, he would roughly equal to one of the Demon Lords

“If the planar barrier is breached” you ask “could you or Konig kill the demon lords, or Hanandrirac?”

“Only by being present on the plane” she responds “And this would draw the attention of other demon lords to this place. However, even the threat of doing so would likely chase them away.”

“How fast could we get these troops over to this plane if we breached the barrier?” you ask

“Several hours” she says

“My lady, I am, ah...a parent” you say “I have two newborn children, with Sofia and Jal.”

There’s a pause, then Velya laughs, a beautiful, musical sound “Congratulations” she says “I look forward to seeing your children grow up, I’m sure you will be a wonderful parent.”

“Did you know?” you ask

“I did” she replies

“Why didn’t you tell me?” you ask

“You were too close to visiting the fate eater” she says “Had he seen them in your thoughts, he would have tried to trick you into giving him their fates.”

“I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to tell Konig” you say

You talk to Sofia about the possibility of evacuating everyone on the Island to another plane. She leaves a meeting with her military commanders to discuss the matter with you.

“At this point” she says despondently “I think that is the best option. I don’t want to leave my home, but my commanders agree: if the army attacks, we can’t win, even if you kill the Warrior, they have enough to simply overwhelm us. But where would we go?”

“My home plane is pretty big” you say “and I’m sure I convince the Kingdom of Dornmer to welcome you.”

“What would you need?” she asks “To move everyone?”

“It would drain one or more of the Elemental Nodes” you say “reducing the number of times the Fivefold Death of Cities can be used, at it will take time, several hours at least, maybe a day.”

She sighs “Begin preparations” she says “When the Drache attack I want to be ready.”

“Hey” she says “Will the Demon Lords know what you’re doing?”

“When I breach the barrier they will” you say

“At which point they’ll throw everything they’ve got at us” she says “Do you think the Warrior would come in person if you tried that?”

“I don’t know” you admit “But I don’t know if he’s at the camp yet”

“Does it matter?” she says “You went off teleporting for a week, I’m sure he could be there in an instant if he needed to be.”

Thats actually a pretty good plan, to lure the warrior in. The main problem is, we still need to kill the sorcerer if we want to do that.

>>
>>34064549
Yeah if we plane shift out the population of the island, we need to make sure the demons don't take it afterwards and free him.
>>
>>34064540
I was just joking when i said that..... but okay lets try it.
>>
>>34063604
I do not believe that it is a stupid idea. Once the Warrior is killed, the entire Empire of Drache will learn that a Demon Lord can be killed. Also, their confidence in the Ruler will be shaken further when he turns craven and hides himself from the world. In this time in which the Ruler is fearing for his life, Ellahi, using the teachings of Velya we give to her over our dream sessions, can win the hearts of the people.
>>
>>34064540

I'd love to redeem every single demon on planet, but so far we don't even have means of communicating with him, much less estimating his intent.
>>
>>34064574
But the ruler will still be around and be a constant threat. He is devious, he will use his influence and personal power to infiltrate and corrupt her efforts. Offing him is simply better to not leave any loose ends.
>>
>>34064540
I kinda don't.
If he wants redemption, fine, but I really doubt he does and releasing him so we can try is wildly irresponsible.
>>
>>34064574

That actually sounds pretty good. The Ruler is a threat, but if we could subvert the imperial bureacracy, his influence could be crippled to level of a very dangerous and powerful crime lord.
>>
>>34064540
Redeeming Touch makes him live his life again experiencing the pain he has brought others. He has been trapped in a tube stewing in his hatred and thoughts of vengeance for the past 1000 years or so. Using the bitchslap of empathy will only piss him off even further.
>>
>>34064623
>very dangerous and powerful crime lord.
A crime lord with extreme personal power, intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the empire, extensive contacts and vast personal wealth. More than enough to turn Ellahis dream into ashes.
>>
“You think that would work?” you ask “Luring him in I mean?”

“You told me that breaking the barrier would alert them” she says “Presumably so they can go and kill the sorcerer who did it. But they can’t teleport in here to kill you, and if you break the barrier they’ll spend months re-creating it, only for you to break it again. Besides, you have an army on your home plane, right?”

“Not much of one” you admit

“Not my point” she says “My point is THEY don’t know that – you could have an army of millions ready to come and fight, if you break the barrier, they have to attack immediately, or face a foe of unknown numbers and powers. Their only hope is to overwhelm you before you bring too many troops through.”

That might actually work as a plan.

“Have you tried praying to Konig?” you ask

“Oh, no” she says “He was so infuriating last time.”

OP, a question.
Does the hearthfire dissipate if it can't detect anyone of Jalwayen bloodline on this plane?
Or can it detect their existence between planes?

>>34064658
It also doesn't work right on those who don't regret their actions.
>>
>>34064604

Ellahi herself is a loose end. Bureacracy is a loose end. Lesser demon nobility is a multitude of loose ends. It's an eternal struggle.

Hopefully some clerics from our homeworld and Sireyi can provide some guidance to Ellahi.
>>
>>34064684

>Does the hearthfire dissipate if it can't detect anyone of Jalwayen bloodline on this plane?

It gives them a very strong push towards being good, by teaching them compassion. It does not require a target that wants to reform.

A target that wants to reform, or is having doubts just means a lower DC.

Killing the Ruler before Ellahi can set up her nation and before the Rebellion can get organized and prove themselves better than the current regime will only result in chaos spreading across the land. Killing the Ruler right now is not ideal.
>>
OK, as you know, I’m a first-time QM: you all know the big screw up (and many smaller screw-ups) I made in the first thread with chargen.

Thanks to chargen Anon, Paladin of Joy Quest didn’t die stillborn, thank you chargen Anon. I spent several hours at my computer worried I’d failed.

Anyway, the first romance-related argument (re: Isla) rekindled that fear and so I put my foot down about no romance until further notice (aside from, y’know, teasing and joking).

I intend to lift that prohibition, once the current arc is dealt with – i.e. once you leave this plane and return to your own (though you might come back one day, and will probably visit at least).

I intend to offer players 3 choices about how romance will be defined in the quest, this is just a draft, not the actual vote.

Option 1: Maximum Player Agency
Sireyi’s romantic preferences will remain undefined, players can vote on potential love interests with no restrictions.
Pro: Players in control
Con: Lots of arguments

Option 2: Player-Defined Romantic Preferences
Sireyi’s romantic (and sexual) preferences are put to a vote: i.e. – does she like boys/girls/both, in a relationship does she prefer single partner/multiple partners etc). Once completed, the vote sets her romance options for any future NPCs she encounters.
Pro: One big shitstorm, then it’s over
Con: Vote could get manipulated by samefagging, trolls etc

Option 3: QM-Defined Romantic Preferences
I’d post in a thread what Sireyi’s preferences were, and that would set her options for romances as per option 2.
Pro: Players can’t blame each other
Con: They can blame me, and some may leave

I’ve thought about this for a while, as one Anon wisely said the first time this was an issue:

“You’ve bought this on yourself by not defining the main characters preferences from the outset.”

I welcome any advice and comments you have about this idea.
>>
>>34065470
>I welcome any advice and comments you have about this idea.
There is honestly nothing to be said about it beyond.

Nothing good will come of this.
>>
>>34065465
>Killing the Ruler right now is not ideal.
You might be under the mistaken impression that the ruler literally rules Drachen. He doesn't, he is the highest authority, but the actual governance isn't conducted by him.
>>
>>34065470
1 is the best.

I don't want some people barring access to Bokin permanently because they think dicks are icky. Romance will happen depending on the mood and atmosphere of a scene, at least that's more organic than just saying, "She only likes women."
>>
>>34065536
Yes, the government truly rules, and if we kill him, it will be as if we only invited all those bureaucrats and generals to a pie pie-slicing party, the pie being the Ruler's empire.
>>
>>34065470
You've confirmed that Sireyi doesn't have a preference towards men or women, though.
Personally, I'm leaning towards three, because I trust you.

>>34065556
Bokin is my least favorite character, and that's only one reason why I really don't want any romantic involvement with him.
He's also a kid, as in literally, it's even on his CS.
>>
>>34065624
14 is of marrying age.
>>
>>34065470
I would urge you to reconsider that. We have, as of now, a certain stable balance, due to the fact that Seiryi is established as wanting serious romantic commitment before anything further occurs. Which means effectively currently no romance at all because she is too busy. That is a good solution, and despite the occasional outburst has worked so far. It really only became a topic again with the pregnancy, and that will calm down once we have sorted the relationship with Sofia and Jal out.

Defining her preferences in any way at this point will at best make the opposing faction leave, and at worst create a massive shitstorm, followed by people leaving or bitterly shitposting for a long time to come.
Even on the most basic level, besides the actual romantic partner in question, both /u/-boats and hetfags are a cancerous vitriolic lot, and neither of them is going to take "defeat" with good grace. And the anons who until now were happy with no waifuing will leave annoyed with the whole shitflinging. Its really lose-lose for everyone.
>>
>>34065556
>>34065624
Yeah, OP's judgement is better than mine when it comes to things in his quest. I'll change my vote to 3.
>>
>>34065624
>You've confirmed that Sireyi doesn't have a preference towards men or women, though.

True, but it could be hand-waved as saying that because she has literally no sexual experience, she herself wasn't sure what she liked if the vote picked exclusively one or the other.

A bit retcon-y but it puts the choice back with the players if they (or you) wanted an exclusively gay or straight Sireyi.
>>
>>34065675
See, it's not.
I don't know where you're getting your information, but please don't try and force your shitty fetish into the game.
That also doesn't fix the fact that he's an awful character.
>>
>>34065556
And then there is the fetish faggots who want to bang literal children because they like big dicks.
>>
>>34065470

I'm personally fine with any of the three, including option 3 which I think would facilitate most peaceful resolution of the conflicts if we agree that it should be resolved this way. I also think it would be better in playing out the involuntary aspect of romance - you don't 'choose' who to fall for and what your emotions are. Agency comes into play when deciding how to act on them. Another benefit I see is that I trust in OP's discretion and sensibilities more than I trust in /qtg/ not fucking votes up with great deliberation.
>>
>>34065679
Can't yuri and het fags just compromise on bisexuality?

>>34065624
We stopped treating Bokin like a kid when he swore his service to us. Would you make Sireyi a hypocrite?
>>
>>34065772
>Can't yuri and het fags just compromise
No, no they can't. Even in full on harem smut quests with a female MC there is going to be debate on that. Hell, even in /d/ quests this is the closest they have to a contentious issue and those guys are utterly harmonic and unflappable otherwise.
>>
>>34065772
You also still haven't addressed the fact that he's an awful character and the only reason you're pushing this is because you're a pedophile or an incredibly slutty hetfag.
Aside from that, your argument is a strawman, because I've never said we should treat him like a child, just that he *is* one and that he's an obnoxious character whom I personally despise.
>>
>>34065816
If we don't allow both, one side is left unhappy. Isn't making both sides happy, albeit in smaller amounts, the better way?

>>
>>34065873
We don't have to have sex with him, but we can still have romance.
>>
>>34065914
To be perfectly honest, I think you should just say you're doing option three right now.
You know the character and what their preferences would be better than any of us, and you're the only person who can be genuinely impartial.
>>
>>34065903
Not really, because the /u/-boats will throw a fit for every male romantic interest, and the hetfags for every female. It just spreads the discussion to absolutely every single character we will talk to.
Putting the law down on what is possible is better than that, although I still hold faint hope for preserving this as a waifu free zone.

>>34065914
If you really want romance in this quest. Than decide yourself. The other two options won't be any better or worse, and that way we dont have to deal with the vote fallout, decide yourself, if you must.
>>
>>34065816
I can't say I remember any of that in /d/ quests, even Heat of Darkness which is about as /u/ as a /d/ quest can get hasn't had any real objections towards sex with dudes, it just hasn't really come up much (and the MC did give some random guard a handie).

>>34065903
Eh, that's just your view of it though. I don't mind leaving this to QM's discretion, but I can honestly say that to me, any kind of polyamory is close to a deal-breaker to me outside blatant smut quests, and bisexual polyamory definitely is. If the MC doesn't stick to one gender I just stop following. I don't think that's a huge problem as such though, some people make way too big a deal of dropping quests or quests losing players. I rarely leave quests with hard feelings even in cases like this.
>>
>>34065903

The problem is that convicted /u/boaters and heterofags will consider the other option unclean and impure and will not be happy unless they get their way.

As a heterofag myself I see Sireyi to have more Jack Harkness orientation (although without putting out) so I'm not gonna complain either way, but be prepared there will be people who will.

As I said, its the closest to contentious, but yes, its not much of an issue, which is a lot by /d/ standarts because I can't think of anything else that ever caused even a bit of disconetent beyond "thats not my fetish". Except furries maybe.
And Fin/d/ers Fee is way more /u/ though.
>>
>>34065981

Are you that same guy that thought the word harem didn't imply sexual activity?
I mean, you're intent on shoving your shitty taste down everyone else's throat, but you don't want it to be an actual serious relationship.

Seriously, Matthias was my favorite character as far as romance options go, I just really don't like Bokin at all.

I like both but no way. FF has MC get gangraped by dudes, HoD I don't think the MC has even sucked a dick yet. And in twice as many threads too. Not to mention that FF has several guys gender-bent to girls which is questionably /u/ in the first place.
Besides, FF sadly seems to be dead as fuck, so not sure if it even counts any more.
>>
>>34065470
Hmm... Honestly I'm not sure. Personally I think the most in character option is bisexual and comfortable with polyamory.
However whatever you do I see a lot of pissed off people and even though I'm not terribly opinionated regarding waifus I can see some choices thatd drive me off and so that's worrisome.
Trusting you to make the decision may be best but I would like to have input, so maybe option 2? Idk

>>34065873
Okay, this stupidity is pissing me off. First off, I'm not a huge fan if bokin myself. But you are just flat out incorrect. Bokin is a teenager, not a child and if you can not recognize that there is a spectrum of maturity between child and adult then you are literally too stupid to argue with. Additionally, being attracted to a 14 year old would not make you a pedophile. It would make you a hebephile on the outside of the spectrum and near to a ephebophile. A pedophile is attracted to PREPUBESCENT children. This is recognized by the medical comm, unity. Please stop using words you do not know the meaning of.
And no I'm not interested in romancing Bokin.
>>
>>34065470
I fail to see why we 'need' romance and waifuing. Why can't Seiryi just stay chaste until the epilogue ? There is more than enough character development to be had in platonic and friendly relationships.
Just look at the Jal/Sofia situation. We don't need to enter a romantic relationship with them to be a good parent to our children. Its a strong bond and a important relationship for Seiryi to the mothers of her children, but it doesn't need to be romantic, caring deeply for another person doesn't require romance.
>>
>>34065470
I'd definitely prefer 2 or 3, as while I'm not the sort to make a huge deal/shitstorm out of romance, I definitely prefer knowing early so I can either relax and enjoy, get over it and move on, or leave, depending on result, over being annoyed/worried about it for thread after thread.
>>
>>34066180

>FF has MC get gangraped by dudes
To be fair, we killed them for it.
In terms of not wanting dudes, the MC in FF is plenty /u/.
>>
>>34066212
This may be right. Romance can either wait in epilogues, or pastebins.
>>
>>34066212
Presumably because the QM wants to write it? I mean, they seemed fairly enthused by it at the start, and seemed to only put a lid on it because they were, as mentioned, wanting to avoid the quest imploding before getting started properly due to romance bickering, with the whole chargen debacle. If they now aren't as worried it makes sense to bring it back if they want to do it.
>>
>>34066210
>Additionally, being attracted to a 14 year old would not make you a pedophile.
While technically true. Bokin is definitly mentally immature enough that I can see why someone would consider him too childlike.
>>
>>34066210
You are so pissed off over me not using the technically correct terms.
It's still illegal and pretty disgusting, so it doesn't actually change anything.
I mean really, they're just terms, the meaning behind them is clear either way.
>>
>>34066212
>I fail to see why we 'need' romance and waifuing. Why can't Seiryi just stay chaste until the epilogue ?

I will concede that there is no need to, only that I wanted to try writing it.

I suppose Sireyi staying chaste until the current Quest chapter ends is possible.

I'm planning to try smut/romance in my next quest, so I could hold off until then.

On that topic, I expect Paladin of Joy to draw to a close at the end of September, I intend to try something else, then come back to it in April.
>>
>>34066212

Because romance, lewd and magical realms are fun.

And, in my eyes, a completely chaste paladin/cleric of Velya is paradoxical and doesn't feel right.
>>
>>34066274
I can certainly agree with that. In fact that's part of the reason I'm not interested in bokin as a romantic option.
>>
>>34066350
>And, in my eyes, a completely chaste paladin/cleric of Velya is paradoxical and doesn't feel right.
I would find it appealing especially because of that.
>>
>>34066210
While I don't actually give a shit about loli/shota romance, this whole ephebophile thing is pretty dumb and I always laugh when it's brought up. Yes, the medical terms are different because it's useful for them to differentiate pre/mid/post-puberty in these kinds of cases, BUT that doesn't mean the colloquial meaning of the word pedophilia as 'sex with anyone under the age of consent' is wrong. Because people aren't talking in medical terms, they're talking with the english language. You wouldn't yell at people for incorrectly talking about human skulls when OBVIOUSLY the word is cranium, as endorsed by the medical community.
>>
>>34066119
I meant that there would be no sex until he comes of age.

Anyway, I thought the plan was to one day marry all 7 members of our party?
>>
>>34066337
I should probably mention that I'm not doing an error dump today like I had planned, because some of the errors that I found are incorrect due to you updating all the pastebins immediately before the thread went live and several times during the thread.
I found at least two that were invalidated, and now I'm too paranoid about it.
I'm going to double-check all of them and re-read the pastebins, I'll have it all sorted by the time the next thread goes live.
Hopefully this length break will allow me to actually catch up with the google doc.

>>34066350
Fun though they may be, they don't really fit the character.
Done right I could enjoy the first one and maybe the second, but...well.../tg/.
Hence why I'd prefer leaving it in OP's capable hands.
>>
>>34066337
>Paladin of Joy to draw to a close at the end of September
All of my sorrow!
>>
>>34066442
I'm expecting to start a new quest immediately in October, running to the end of the year.

I'll announce it in the thread, and on twitter.

So hopefully, if any of you are willing to trust me with a totally new character and setting, you'll come and play.
>>
>>34066350

There's nothing paradoxical about it. Velya is deity of love, joy and fun, not just of sex. There's more to life than fucking, you know?

>>34066406

/qtg/ please go away.
>>
>>34066442
Sireyi's first quest has been pretty eventful, hasn't it? Now she just needs to start a planetwide revolution and head over to Jianxi's home country to get to the bottom of that mystery.
>>
>>34066491
It seems to me like the consesus is largely to leave it up to you. In which case I would suggest to just announce it now what you consider her preferences and allow it to blow out here and have people read it up in the archive instead of derailing the new thread in two weeks with it.
>>
>>34066491
Hmm... Well I will certainly give it a shot. I'm interested in how you'll do with other settings.
>>
>>34066551
Yes, I completely agree.
Going with three now will result in the shitstorm being *over* by the time your two week break ends and all of us having time to process it and adjust.
I trust in you OP.

>>34066572
He said it'd be somewhat crunchy, so I'll be there.
>>
>>34066491
Before you go retconning anything to avoid conflict, just know that retcons are super lame no matter how they're handled.
>>
>>34066551
Yeah, it's the best. There's enough posts left for people to rage, and enough time til next thread for it to blow over.
>>
>>34066611
What do you mean, retconning?
Where was he retconning?
Some retcons are okay, it depends on how the playerbase feels about it and how long ago the action happened.
>>
>>34066646
>>34065709
He said he might retcon Sireyi's non-preference away. Though now that I think about it, she has rebuffed women several times and had a passing fancy for that orc.
>>
>>34066646
It's in reference to >>34065709
>>
>>34065816
>Hell, even in /d/ quests this is the closest they have to a contentious issue and those guys are utterly harmonic and unflappable otherwise.
Eh, in BFQ the arguments were more how to do right by the girl we had the full relationship with than about whether or not to fuck other girls, the cuntboy, etc.
>>
>>34066515
Man, why are you so against the idea of marrying Isla, Jianxi, Matthias, Bokin, Sofia, Gendric, and Jal? Bah!
>>
>>34066515

It's still a big part of love. That's why 'have sex' can also be called 'make love'
>>
>>34066491
Oh, right, one other thing.
The notes you sent me go from 1-9 and 11-12.
Is that a numbering error or did you forget to send me the 10th doc?

>>34066707
Not mentioning when she was sexually attracted to anyone else in future threads was due to a minor shitstorm at the end of thread one or two, I believe.
OP said he wouldn't have the character experience sexual attraction in the narrative anymore, to prevent people from thinking he was forcing us towards romance.

>>34066717
Oh, that, right.
I had a joke about how we've never had any action so it can't actually be a retcon, but I forgot the phrasing.
>>
>>34066773
Probably because you're a shitposter blatantly trying to make Sireyi as much of a slut as you think you can get away with?
That's my reason for hating you and everything you stand for, at least.
Honestly, the worst part about you pieces of sub-human trash is you never realize that OP has already declared there will never be any smut in this quest so there's nothing for you here.

>>34066813
/tg/ would ruin it without OP's guidance and control.
There's never been a quest that actually does romance without a near-perpetual shitstorm about it, and even those result in schizophrenic behavior usually.
>>
>>34066813

Do not even try to equate the two. Parents usually love their children but don't have sex with them. A person can love their friends and siblings but not have sex with them. A teacher can love his students and charges to the point of laying their life down for them but not have sex with them. I'm not saying sex should be haram, I'm just saying that your notion of 'paradoxicalness' is complete and utter bullshit.
>>
>>34066337
You read it Pally. You can come out now and admit Seiryis secret, loving devotion to
Ebonsong
>>
>>34066903
I'm not trying for maximum smut, I am aware that there will be no smut. All I ask is maximum joy.
>>
>>34066903

There's no point in being angry with him. I think he's being facetious.
>>
>>34066947
How depraved! And super cute~!
>>
>>34066992

Is that you, moonrunes? Are you doing it for free?
>>
>>34066961
>Joy
You want joy, yet you perpetuate a cause that only increases hatred and anger.
Who said our party members even want to marry us, anyway?
The only one confirmed to want that is Isla, even Jal and Sofia just wanted us to be a 'conquest'.

>>34066991
Surprisingly, I'm not mad.
I'm not half as coherent as that when I'm mad, it's more absolute hatred.
>>
Really? Ok, fine, here I go.

Sireyi’s sexual/romantic preferences in a nutshell:
- Bisexual: with no strong preference for men or women
- Polyamorous: with a very strong focus on her partners knowing what she’s doing, and with whom. This includes a strong aversion to her doing anything with someone in an existing monogamous relationship – she’d be horrified if she slept with someone who was in a relationship with someone else and hadn’t told their partner. She’d limit the number of partners, to allow her to pay each one enough attention, no more than 3 or 4.
- Wants long term relationships: Casual sex just isn’t her thing, she understands the concept, but that’s like saying she understands people liking going underground, or swimming. She is extremely unlikely to engage in casual sex, and if she ever did, she’d either regard it as an accident or a one-off incident.
- Sees people, not species: Sireyi would date (for example) a dragon or a giant, if she liked them. For sex they’d obviously need to change size or shape though.
- Adults-only: Sireyi might feel affection for a child or teenager, but it would be a sisterly or motherly affection. She would not enter a romantic relationship with someone she saw as a child.
- Touchy-Feely: Sireyi is far more comfortable with physical contact than many other people and does not see it as overtly sexual. She’d hug someone, kiss them on the cheek, even sleep in the same bed with them, without it being sexual. If they then pointed out that it might be sexual, then she’d get embarrassed.

Feel free to comment, argue, call me a virgin faggot etc, I’ll read it all in the archives. This is a draft, so little bits may change before it gets added to the character sheet, but major changes are unlikely.

>>34066833
Sorry, I forgot, will try and remember to send you 10 tomorrow. Remind me next thread if I've forgot.
>>
Since the question has come up:

I think 'falling in love' should be handed by the QM. My current headcanon of Sireyi is this:
>She loves everyone (platonic)
>She has an extremely low sex drive and not much interest in a relationship that is more than platonic love.
>But she is not completely opposed to relationships if people show interest. She just doesn't really want to deal with it and was raised expecting an arranged marriage.
With time she might be ok with advances by admirers, once it is certain that her admirers want an actual relationship and they have become friends. This would likely not become an exclusive relationship, but given her reluctance to start relationships would probably only happen with very few people.

Despite my headcanon I support however the QM sees Sireyi. And if anyone wants to tell me again that romantic relationships don't have to have anything to do with sex: shut up, it's not true in this case and you know it.
>>
>>34067036
Jianxi might. Isla just wants our body and babbies.
>>
>>34067054

That's pretty much how I imagined Sireyi, the half-angelic paladin of Velya to be. I'm 100% fine with that definition.
>>
>>34067054
>Literally my exact mental image of Sireyi's sexuality
Yes.
It's perfect.

>>34067072
Isla had a fantasy about being married to us in particular, it was pretty cute, Jianxi is going for Matthias.
>>
>>34067054
Good jaererb, OP!
>>
>>34067054
>Polyamorous
The question would be.
Would Seiryi be okay with a relationship with two people who aren't also romanctically interested in each other ?

>Bisexual
Oh boy, here we go.
>>
>>34067054
I'm not far off then. Neat. Would you agree that a strong friendship would be the basis of any of her relationships and that the friendship would be more important to Sireyi than the romantic feelings?
>>
>>34067054
I would back that to the ends of the earth. Exactly how I imagined Sireyi. Perfect.

As usual you prove your trustworthiness
>>
>>34067054
>Polyamorous: with a very strong focus on her partners knowing what she’s doing, and with whom. This includes a strong aversion to her doing anything with someone in an existing monogamous relationship – she’d be horrified if she slept with someone who was in a relationship with someone else

That sounds like the "no sex without marriage thing" is gone now ?
>>
>>34067127
Not really necessary. In a healthy poly relationship your partners don't need to even meet as long as you're fully honest with both about what exactly is going on and how they stand.
>>
>>34067054
Hmmm, alright. Well the only real issue I see with this is that really doesn't seem to limit our romantic options at all beyond ruling out the stupid 'romance whole party' thing, which seems like it doesn't reduce arguments at all. I mean, I'm just being frank here - this really seems no different from A in that I would still vote to romance characters I like/want to romance, and vote against romancing characters I dislike/don't want to romance, and arguments will spring up about whether 'she should totally romance a third character and it should be X' 'no way, 2 is more than enough and we don't need any dudes/ladies/children/whatever in this relationship'.

Like really, I'm not upset about it, and I don't dislike it because it rules out what I want - I'm fine with polyamory and there aren't any other restrictions. I mostly dislike it because I don't see what it accomplishes that 1 doesn't.
>>
>>34067217
>Not really necessary.
That is why I asked yes.
It makes a difference in regards to the character, so it is a important distinction.
>>
>>34067100
She's going after Matthias
And Matthias has a crush on us. If we don't do something, this could devolve into a love triangle.
Going out with them both is an option, but I admit that it is not the only one.
But I do like the idea of Sireyi with Matthias and Jianxi.
>>
>>34067176
There's not any smut in this quest, so unless players really wanted a fade-to-black scene, I'd say you would have nothing to worry about.
>>
>>34067245

That post cleared up how OP sees Sireyi's sexual preferences.
Committing to option 3 would presumably mean those preferences would be played out in story posts without input from players (and votes running contrary to those preferences could be safely disregarded as out-of-character), at least that's what I imagine.
>>
>>34067276
>And Matthias has a crush on us
Literally everyone has a crush in Seiryi.

>>34067245
Gotta agree with him, this does not solve any questions really, and means constant debate over every single possible love interest until we hit the 4 cap.

>>34067304
It still makes a difference concerning the attitude of the character. I admit, I really liked that little aspect even if it was largely inconsequential.
>>
>>34067245
I'm just insanely glad her sexuality has been formalized, so now I don't need to constantly worry about some guys getting something past me, like I was always worried about with the flesh-shaping vote.

It addresses all the main things I was worried about from anything related to this, so this is just a huge load of stress off my mind even if we'll still have a few arguments.

>>34067176
It'd likely still require an extremely strong connection to do things like that, one that most normal people would just get married if they possess.
And her first will definitely still be post-marriage.

>>34067276
Did we actually get anything that indicates Matthias has a serious crush on us?

>>34067352
No, that's not just a 'this is what option 3 is', it's 'this is what just happened'.
That thing you see there? That's our sexuality now.
>>
>>34067352
I believe that matters of romance are best left in OP's hands. We're only here to do paladin things like doing good, upholding law, and spreading joy
>>
>>34067389
We showed up in his dreams naked. We were the only girl there.
Ooh, we could try controlling his dream to where he sees Jianxi instead of Sireyi, and then we leave the dream.
>>
>>34067352
I'd prefer it clarified then, because bi as controlled by /tg/ and bi as controlled by QM is pretty different. I'd rather silently drop the quest if confirmed that she WILL be romancing both, rather than simply be receptive to both, if that's the case. If /tg/ has control of who I could vote and stick around until I lose a vote in that case.
>>
>>34067389
>And her first will definitely still be post-marriage.
It still makes a difference if Seiryi requires a prolonged romantic commitment culminating in marriage before she sleeps with someone. Pr if she sleeps with someone expecting a prolonged romantic commitment.

I'm just trying to iron out these points of contention before we need to discuss them later.
>>
>>34067478
>- Bisexual: with no strong preference for men or women
Given that this doesn't actually change much from the way we've been playing her, I'm reading it as being receptive to both, not forced.

>>34067441
Well, that's just a sex dream, probably.
I have sex dreams of people all the time, it doesn't mean I think I'm in love with them.

>>34067518
Sireyi would only sleep with someone if:
>A: She genuinely believes she loves them and they love her, with marriage being a strong possibility or likelihood.
>B: A, but betrothed
>C: A, but married
So, essentially, she doesn't *technically* require marriage, but such a close relationship that it's effectively marriage, at least in my mind.
But I'd prefer to be married anyway.
>>
>>34067642
>>34067054
By the way, is forging rings out of halos a power we can have?
>>
>>34067747
Why are you linking to me?

Did you think I was OP, or do you want me to turn the idea 'halo rings' into an actual power and then post it as a suggestion to see if OP likes it, like what happened with Seraphic Dragon?

Because I actually kinda like that idea and would be willing to try doing that, if you'll let me.
>>
>>34068026
It was more along the lines of "This guy's talking about marriage, I have an idea of a power that could make rings that tell us when our loved one's in danger, I should bring it up."
>>
>>34068076
That makes sense.

Would you mind if I try my hand at formalizing it into a real power anyway?
I've already got a few thoughts of what I could do with that idea.
>>
>>34068216
Shoot. You're the person I trust just as much as OP.
>>
>>34067054

How about doing the deed with someone out of necessicity (like impregnating Sofia would have been, under different circumstance, and, you know, penis custom job was a thing), or mkaing someone important very happy? Or useful to the mission?
>>
>>34068461
She wouldn't like it, but if there is no other way and it isn't rape, who knows?
>>
>>34068026
Also, I didn't see your name until you replied, so it was not my intent to get you to work out the kinks on another power. I was merely asking OP if a power like that was possible.
>>
>>34068291
>You're the person I trust just as much as OP.
That's fantastic.

I'm going to post some ideas here, though they are rather raw and unrefined:
>Lesser version of the halo's bolster/discomfort aura
>Interplay with Lightning Halo: Willpower bonus, possible access to weaker variants of LH peripherals or Storm abilities
>Minor telepathic communication with any other wearing a ring made by the same angel/half-angel, voluntary
>Regeneration, flavored as passive divine healing from the ring itself
>Danger sense alerts the angel that made the ring when it's wearer is in serious danger
>Cost: likely 2-5 AXP/GXP, possibly a point or two of DE on reserve for each ring in existence instead of an increased XP cost.
>Divine ability, obviously
>Requires Halo 3, but we've already got that
>Can function as a ceremonial ring in addition to these powers.
>Permanent unless dismissed.

I have a few other ideas, though they're even more rough.
This is, of course, only the ideas I've come up with in the brief time since >>34067747.
I'll make sure to keep the spirit of the power in mind for whatever additions I make.

I'll be posting whatever I ultimately wind up creating at the end of the next thread, if you take umbrage to it, then it will, of course, be open for discussion.

>>34068577
Oh, wait, are you not the same person?
Oh well, I'm designing this power anyway at this point, it's really started to interest me.
>>
>>34068662
All me, good luck!
>>
>>34068760
Thanks!

Hopefully I'll be able to get all four things I want to do done by the end of next thread.
Though I've got two weeks, so it's pretty unlikely I won't have enough time.

See you in the next thread.
>>
>>34067054
Oh, wait, almost forgot.
I decided not to post any error corrections, but I did have a skill (not power) idea and minor system change that I feel I should at least post:

Skill Type Suggestion:
If 'expertise' skill are skills with a very wide array of applications, then there should be a counterpart 'niche' skill type, referring to skills with a small number of applications and/or a narrow/uncommon focus.
The benefit to their small focus is only requiring half the XP for each skill rank. Expertise = 4 XP/rank, Regular = 2 XP/rank, Niche = 1 XP/rank.
Oh, and the reason I'd prefer halved XP cost instead of turning the +2 into a +4 for Niche skills is because halved XP only allows a maximum bonus of +10, while +2 becoming +4 allows a potential bonus of +20, which is a little completely broken.

Skill Request:
Parenting (Niche) skill, for reasons.
It would've unlocked due to our automatic success with Ebonsong.

Standard 'feel free to ignore/modify/etc.' rules apply, as always.
>>
>>34068662
Hmm, these rings are cool, but what's to stop Sireyi from giving everyone a ring? Maybe a limitation like, "only works on someone who is in love."
