So, let's see, news. ahh... oh, right.

Planning a couple oneshots, if there's any interest- we'd be playing as the sherks (yes, because of shark week, and yes, I know it'll be late) and Brigitte (I've been watching way too much Justin Wilson for my own good). If you guys are interested, hey, let me know, if not I'll just shelve them and we can chug on with the main storyline.

Also I'll probably be taking a couple breaks in the next couple months- not next week but week after, I'm spending at least Saturday in Charlotte with a girl I know, and the first week of October I'll be getting back from AWA. Since I do most of my work on the weekends, that means we probably won't run those weeks, but I'll try and keep you guys informed.

Anyway! archive here

As it turns out, You and Katya are far from the only service personnel in the hotel- in fact, most of the current guests are NATO officers on leave from various units. This has made going down to lunch in one of the attached cafes was nerve-wracking, even with everyone there on leave.

“Too much brass.” You say to Katya, having finished your meal. “Place is making me nervous.”

She laughs. “This is not so bad. I was once invited to view victory day parade from the Premier's box in red square. I did not stand next to him, of course, I was too low rank then, and even with Litvyak name, I would have never been allowed that close.”

You wince- to your mind, that's probably comparable to being invited to watch the Superbowl with the president. Only a lot more propagandized. Part of you wonders if that's going to happen anyway- you kind of hope not, and you think you've avoided the public eye enough that it shouldn't.

1/2
>>
She shrugs. “This was not as bad as I make it sound. I was in fourth row back. Would have had a much better view from the street level, I am thinking. Is always easy to find some patriotic man who does not mind a comrade witch sitting on his shoulders to watch the parade”

You look at her, raising an eyebrow. “So what you're saying is you'd use some hardworking Soviet man just to get a better view?”

She nods. “Yes. They do not mind, witches are light, they will say. Besides, is good way to keep shoulders warm.” She laughs.

Your conversation is interrupted by the appearance of your French escort- Inspector Victore.

“Apologies, my friends.” He says, quietly, not taking a seat. “I am instructed to request your presence to meet some people of import, yet again.” He spreads his hands in a gesture of helplessness. “I do not know why, only that they feel it is important enough to interrupt an excellent meal with a very beautiful girl I know to tell me that I need to ask you this.”

Confusion crosses Katya's face. “Who would want to meet us? We are not that important, compared to many of the generals around this city.”

Inspector Victore shrugs. “I am instructed not to tell you. But they requested to meet at a cafe- I had informed them that you had already eaten.” he frowns. “They simply said an American can always eat more.”

You're not sure if you should feel insulted or not. You get the impression it wasn't meant as such, but it's still not exactly the friendliest thing ever said about you.

2/3 (oops)
>>
“Where do they wish to meet us?” Katya asks- you're not sure if she's just handling it because she spoke first, or if this is some deep-seated paranoia on her part.

“Le Chalet des Iles.” He says. “It is something of a drive from here, though it is private and quite nice. I have eaten there before.” He laughs, then shrugs. “If you do not wish to go, I will convey your regrets, and attempt to smooth over any, as you say, ruffled feathers. I am sure whoever it is can wait.”

[] Well, we didn't have anything planned, sure, let's go.

You shrug, picking your napkin up off up your lap. “Sure, we didn't have anything planned for right now, so let's go.”

The inspector nods, heading towards the door while you pay- using cash, some of your carefully hoarded stash of it. Until you can convert your MPC over, you're going to have to be careful with what you have.

The inspector is already outside waiting when you step out and slip on your sunglasses and Katya puts back on her wide-brimmed hat. He grins, his own sunglasses already on, as you two step into the car.

In your drive through Paris, you note fewer and fewer military-looking tourists as you get farther from the city center- though there's still groups of them, they're nowhere near as common. Instead, you see what you figure are native Parisians, going about their day to day routines.

The Eiffel tower slides past your right side, staying there as the inspector turns towards the park, narrating as he drives. Katya frowns when he talks about it- originally built in the later part of the 1800s as it was, it, along with the rest of the city, would have been destroyed, fed into the martian war machine of the 1940s.

1/2
>>
He nods. “Of course. The entire city was destroyed, used by the squids for their war effort and to build their colossally ugly hives. After the war, it was a mark of pride to rebuild the city exactly as it had been by melting down their war machines.” He points at the tower. “It is not iron and steel, as it's predecessor was, it is instead martian armor plate. I believe it is better that way, non?” He laughs.

The Chalet actually rests on an island in the middle of a lake, accessible only by boat- a minor inconvenience, though it's a short distance from shore to shore.

Inside, the building is mostly empty- though you recognize the young man standing inside, his Army uniform clean and pressed. “Jean-luc!” You say, grinning and returning his handshake. “Shit man, you shoulda let us know it was you.”

He grins and shrugs. “Ma Rose didn't think we should ruin the surprise. She suggested having dinner together before she leaves.”

“She's leaving?” You ask, and he nods. “She is of the opinion your commander needs her around, or she would go slowly crazy chasing her tail.” He grins. “But she made a stop to see me for a few hours.”

[] So how did you two manage to get this place to yourselves?

[x] Glad that she was able to. Where are you headed, or can you say?

“Well, I'm glad she was able to. Where are you headed, or can you tell us?” You say, following him over to a table where Rosalie is already standing, talking with an older man wearing the uniform of the French Navy. You pause, momentarily, at the sight of his rank insignia- two small stars- though he's more interested in whatever Rosalie is talking about than you.

She holds up a finger when Jean-luc clears his throat, continuing her conversation a moment longer before hugging the admiral and turning around. “Hello Frank, Katya.” She says, sitting when Jean-luc pulls out her chair for her- which belated reminds you to do the same for Katya. “How are you finding Paris so far?”

“Not bad.” You say. “Though we haven't been able to see much of it yet. Our hotel is pretty nice though.”

She makes a face and Jean-luc laughs. “They should have put you in the Ritz.” She says, sniffing.

“So how's the move going?” You ask. She shrugs. “Not badly. Brigitte left right after you did, and I volunteered with Patty and Nicole as the advance party. We will be in Germany by tomorrow morning.”

“She sounds so professional and businesslike, oui?” Jean-luc laughs. “Do not let her deceive you, she only agreed to do this so she could stop in pairs and see her Grandmere and moi, of course.”

1/2
>>
“Where are you headed?” You ask again- his answer had been interrupted the first time.

He shrugs. “Poznan is our first destination, but I doubt we will remain off the line for long. We have been making good advances, but Warsaw will likely prove difficult, and they are resisting more now as they fall back on their supply lines.”

You nod- you'd expected as much. “Tough going from here on in, then?”

He shrugs again. “For you in the air, maybe. They have to contest us there to contest us on the ground, and they are not able to, yet.”

You nod again, it makes sense.

You end up taking their advice on food, ordering fairly simply, and light, after having already eaten. You still feel stuffed beyond recognition at the end, though.

“So, anything come forward about the testing at Barin?” You ask Rosalie as you finish the meal. “I mean, I know it hasn't been that long, and they're all leaving, but-”

She shakes her head. “Non. I will have grandmere keep watch on it though, you will be the first to know if anyone publishes anything.” She pauses. “it could be years before they feel they've got enough to publish, if at all, ever.”

“I was afraid of that.” You say. “So barin was a waste of time?”

She shakes her head. “Non, far from it. Merlin's ability is amazing, even if they are unable to explain it or your own talent. Uncovering her ability for design and her skills at rapidly making her designs reality- “

She shakes her head again. “Those strikers of hers, mon dieu. They are amazing. I cannot explain it.”

Katya looks over at you briefly, then smiles. “What about explaining it to me? I have been in one.”

“Remind me to try later.” You say, and the rest of them laugh.

“Have you been shopping yet?” Rosalie asks, suddenly, turning to Katya, who shakes her head. Jean-luc shoots a glance of pity at you, but doesn't say anything.

“Oh, there are some places you must try. There is a dressmaker in here, she is amazing. Here, let me write down the address, if you tell her I sent you, maybe she will not charge as much?”

The two of them set to talking, Jean-luc shakes his head and stands up. “Rose, Frank and I will be out on the patio.”

You nod, standing and following him out, leaning on the railing and looking out over the water and across to the park. “So, is she usually like this?”

He grins and nods. “Oui. Ma Rose, she loves Paris, no? Her grandmere is very popular here, all of her family is.” He shrugs. “I prefer Cannes, but, c'est la vie, oui? I will probably have to learn to like Paris.” he laughs.

[x] So why's her family so well regarded here, anyway?

“So why's her family so well regarded here anyway?” You ask, looking back over your shoulder.

Jean-luc laughs. “She was the reconstruction!” He pauses. “Well, not by herself, but in many ways, that is how it is seen, oui? Her family was old money, maybe even before the revolution, well respected. Her grandmere didn't have to serve, none of the clostermann witches did, she joined the ADA anyway. All of them do. Helped cover the evacuation beaches over dunkirk, ended up in britain during the war, at the castle Barin.”

You nod, tracking the story so far.

“After the liberation, the refugees came home to devastation. There was nothing left but wreckage, great cleared plains where the cities used to be.” He shakes his head. “It must have been crushing. I cannot imagine. Ma rose's grandmere though, she rolled up her sleeves and began to put it all back together. Fed orphans, used her family's money to bring in everything from building crews to quarried stone and concrete.”

“Over twenty years it took to rebuild, and she was always at the front of it. Her last act of the reconstruction was to donate one of the marble statues that had stood outside her family's chateau to the newly rebuilt witch's holding in Paris. I am unsure how it survived, but things like that are almost priceless now.” He says. “She was offered a matroncy, but didn't accept it, but she's still active among our witches, non?”

He laughs. “They are like us. They say they want nothing more than to leave the life and live somewhere quiet and alone, yet no matter how hard they try they cannot bring themselves to leave.”

[x] Yeah, you're right. Probably be at this till I'm too old to fly

You laugh. “Yeah, you're right. I'll probably be at this till I'm too old to fly”

He nods and shares the laugh. “See, I have an advantage there. I can be in a wheelchair and still command tanks, oui? Don't need legs for that unless I want to get out of my armor. And who wants to do that?”

You laugh. “So is it all tankers that are deranged, or do I just have the privilege of knowing the ones that are?”

“Listen to this! Coming from one who flies a controlled explosion!” Jean-luc laughs. “I will overlook this and provide you one other important piece of advice. The press know you are here.”

“The- oh shit.” You say, the realization of what he means striking you as he lights up a cigarette and nods.

“I am unsure how they found out. I believe it was the witches- you know how it is. One sees a famous person, tells another they know-”

You nod.

He turns, putting a hand on your shoulder. “My friend, it is not so bad. You are guests of the republic, you name will not appear on any guest list for hotels, and it is illegal for them to tell people where to find you. The police take their job very seriously. Had we not been able to prove Rosalie was in the same squadron, we would not have been able to meet like this.” He grins. “So long as you are not caught with your date in the moonlight on the grass, I suspect you will be fine.”

“Well, you know, not getting caught in the moonlight-” you start. Jean-luc laughs.

“Parks are overrated anyway, my friend. If you want advice, use the hotel room. The house staff are very discreet unless you damage the furniture.”

You're about to respond when the doors open again and Rosalie and Katya step out.

“Lunch was excellent, Rosalie, thank you.” Katya says. “And thank you for all the suggestions, Frank and I will be quite busy stopping by all of them!”

Rosalie grins. “It is no problem ma sœur. I am sure you'll find many nice things, oui? Just be sure Frank can carry them all!”

Katya nods. “But you are remembering how much he was able to bring back in a motorcycle? Now we have a whole car to use!”

Rosalie laughs, and then the two of them hug each other, Katya walking over to stand next to you while Jean-luc and Rosalie leave.

“So, shopping?”

Katya shrugs. “If you believe we have time. It is later in the day than I would like to start, but there are a few boutiques Rosalie suggested nearby. However, I would not mind returning to the hotel and simply relaxing for the rest of the evening. Perhaps we could go to dinner somewhere?”

He knows about Katya because it's pretty damn obvious and he knows about Slider since Ice let that one slip, but for Ice its mixed signal to him. I mean sure everyone says things that come off as jokes to him and while Ice gives off some clues here there, she flips right back into Ice mode. Sorry if that's confusing, lack of sleep isn't fun.

[x] Well, since we're out here, let's look at a couple boutiques

“Well, since we're out here, let's look at a couple boutiques.” You say, Turning to walk back through the small restaurant and to the boat waiting for you.

Katya nods, following along. “I was joking, of course. I do not have that much money, and I am not sure I will be able to get things as cheap as Rosalie said I would.”

You shrug. “I don't know. I mean, how much can a dress be, anyway?”

Katya shakes her head. “I am not sure. This is the first time I will have ever purchased one.”

“You've never had a dress before?”

She looks over at you. “That is not what I said. I have never bought one before.”

“What about in California?”

She shakes her head. “A few skirts, a pair of jeans, some shorts, some shirts. No dress.”

Stepping in the boat and greeting the inspector, you shake your head. “Why do you need a dress anyway?”

“I am needing one for formal occasions, yes? Besides, Rosalie believes she knows a dressmaker who would just love to work on something for me.” She slides a hand down her side, unconsciously mimicking Slider's favorite move to point out that, yes, she has dem hips.

You'd swear they're all doing it on purpose.

“I am not sure, but we will see, yes?” Katya says.

“I guess so.” You allow. Part of you is interested to see what she'll come up with- her sense of fashion can't be that amazing, having basically grown up in various military camps, but at the same time, you think, she's a female. It's inherent.

Jessica Bishop takes another sip of coffee and sighed happily before drawing in a huge breath.

"I can't believe Frank just left without saying goodbye I mean I get he totally wants to get away from all these angry old bi- witches but you think he could have spent like five minutes to say g'bye to his little sister but I did see him leave with Katya which probably has something to do with it I guess glomping onto big-"

Princess Katsumi silences the younger witch with a gentle press of a finger to her lips.

"Honestly, what am I going to do with you?" Katsumi sighs.

"Watch Robotech with me?" Jess grins up at the taller witch, bouncing from one leg to the other.

"As long as you don't mention certain... subjects like you were about to." Katsumi tries to sound firm, but finds herself smiling back down at Jess when she takes a small bite at the finger.

" 'Kay!" Grabbing Katsumi's hand in a vice grip, Jessica drags the princess towards the recreation room.

"So... what is this 'Robotech'?" Katsumi asks.

"It's only the COOLEST FREAKIN' SHOW EVERRRRRRRRRR like wow the fighters transform into transformers and stuff but not really because they have pilots and witches ride these bikes that turn into armor and they fight these super tall bad guys that kinda look like Russians but dumber and eviler it is so cool I just found out about it in the castle library and now I wanna watch the whole thing!"

"Hmm... sounds familiar... We aren't going to be here for very long, Jess, we can't watch it all." Katsumi sighs sadly. "

She did feel a little sad that she hadn't been able to see off the elder Bishop, sadder still that she hadn't been able to see more of his combat prowess.

This also meant that she would be returning to Japan to continue the struggle against the Chinese and Russian interlopers. She didn't dare admit this around the ever-stuffy Ogawa, but this had been a nice break from the fighting, and an educational break at that.

Kostantina is not amused, all that patience, waiting, and even hope dashed when she had heard that her beloved is no longer at Barin and no longer doing these 'combat trials' in which she did not have a chance to prove herself to her lover but had gone away to France with the defector.

While during her time at Barin she did not think so harshly of her as she did before but her sense of jealously and perhaps fears had risen however especially hearing the twins talk of them in the 'City of Romance' she cannot help but be concerned.

While not powerful as she is in combat or can keep up with her beloved as she could she had other more 'womanly' graces she herself (Very bitterly) admit she did not.

And the defector is in a area where her strengths can be fully taken advantage of (According to the twins).

This could not be allowed for her and her beloved future!

However, there is one problem she must overcome.

"Dead one why do you follow me?" Konstantina stared at what she may be loosely called an associate as she began to began to remove several items from a shipping container

"Head Matron ordered me to keep an eye on you at all times" Natalya replied disinterested and without any emotion as the dead one continues staring at her.

She finds it very uneasy.

"What are you doing?" The Dead one asked as you finally empty enough items on the created to snugly fir you in.

"I was promised to be with my beloved, to soar in the air once more with him but was cruelly denied the chance! Now he is under enemy hands and must be extracted at once."

"I was told Lt.Bishop along with Lady Litvak's daughter were at Paris,France on leave before returning to the front." The Dead one replied before cocking her head. "They are in allied territory and are well guarded their is little chance of assassins successfully infiltrating and exterminating him."

There was still some time before Katsumi was slated to return home, and she intended to take advantage of this as much as possible. There was less scrutiny of her and Jessica at Barin, something the two found very agreeable. Ogawa felt otherwise... but Jessica didn't seem to care, and she had ways of making Katsumi not care very much either. This was one of them.

Breathless from their sprint, the pair stagger into the rec room, Katsumi finding a place on the couch and flopping into it. Jessica doesn't stop running, dashing over to the TV and slamming a VHS into the player underneath. She leaps away from the entertainment center, landing in the waiting lap of the Katsumi.

"This episode's called Farewell Big Brother but I didn't watch it 'cause it was kinda late and I remembered that you asked me to come back to the room at a certain time yesterday night." Jessica leans back against Katsumi.

"Yes I did," Katsumi feels her skin flush slightly, and is very grateful when the opening theme to Robotech starts blaring from the TV speakers.

"Oh, this is Super Dimensional Fortress Macross!" she exclaims a moment later. Her face screws up with confusion. "The music certainly is different... that's not even from Macross, one of my brothers really liked that show, but I can't remember the-"

"You are naive, dead one." Konstantina shook her head while she did not spend as much time with her beloved as she would like, she gained many experiences and learned many things while in Barin.

Particularly, one she learned from Litvak herself in the bath....

NO! That never happened. that event did not exist! Ever!

"He could not be in any worse danger then then anything in the sky can throw at him." She continued before shaking off the event 'That did not exist!' replaced by whispers or rather loud conversations from the sharks about planting the seeds off a rise apartment or nighttime combat sessions extending until the morning.

She did not understand half the context in question but by the slight red tinting their faces, their tone of their voices, and talk of her beloved 'combat experience' compared to Litvak, She feels she has every right to worry.

"So it is my duty as his lover to prevent such danger to happen!" She exclaimed loudly before covering her mouth with her hands and quickly look around to make sure no one heard her proclamation in fear of being discovered.

"I still cannot allow you to leave without reporting to Lady Litvak." She replied as she stepped forward blocking you from your hiding place.

Damn you dead one.....I shall strike you where you stand and meet up with my beloved before...

A thought suddenly occurred as another lesson she had learned in Barin, something the Matrons and even the Sharks had used countless time...

Exploiting a loophole.

"Dead one...." She force herself to give off a more friendlier tone as she tried to calm her frustrations. "You have dueled with my beloved and flown with him in the air, how did it feel."

The Dead One continued to stare her hollowed eyes unblinking before slowly drifting away.

"It was...confusing." She admitted. "I had fought steel winged pilots before though they had used similar tactics against me before they did not move as he did, maneuver like he did, forced me to use my 'other' talents as were my orders to go full out against Lt.Bishop but he stopped."

"and how did it feel?" Konstantina with all the calmness and understanding she had gained when dealing with the younger witches stationed here.

"...frustrating." The Dead One muttered. "I knew he could do more, I had seen films against his previous engagements and knew she can keep up to some degree but he had stopped despite orders to go full out as well. When I had seen him in the locker room as I was changing I had acquired him on the subject."

'THIS HARLOT!'

During the match she had been under constant watch under the head matron thus sneaking away to see her beloved and asking about his performance on the dead one herself but for she to do so in the nude! unforgivable!

'No, No, Calm down Stalinka according the Sharks and how your beloved hangs around the little one so casually who also have similar builds the dead one, she is known as "lil sister material' thus not a threat unlike the other harlots.'

"He told me that the orders were not reasonable and had the safety of his crew and plane to consider." She continued. "His reasoning was strange to me but I was ordered to clean up after the mission so I went ahead and requested him to stay for more information once I have finished only for him to have gone and talked to his security guard."

"So you are left unsatisfied by your unanswered questions?" Konstantina asked as the dead one paused for a moment before nodding. "Then we shall go to Paris and rescue my beloved together."

"I need to report to Lady Litvak about this." She responded before Kostantina grabbed her should hastily.
>>
>>34101908

"Your orders are to keep an eye on me at all times, Yes?" Kostantina asked a bit of sweat appearing on her brow as she reaches the most crucial part of her plan. "Then you can continue to do so while we arrive at Paris and rescue my beloved. You can make your report to Lady Litvak once we arrive back and thus not break orders."

"...." The dead one pauses and contemplate on the reasoning much to Kostantina's shock of she is even capable of that much however this is an opportunity to push further.

"You can have your questions answered and your confusion cleared once we acquire him." Kostantina added and you did not know any better you saw a slight spark in her eye.

But obviously Kostantina knows better of her so it is disregarded.

"Lady Litvak's orders were to keep in eye on you at all times...." She repeated her orders like a machine. "However, she did not disclosed any specific time to give my reports on your activities so if you were to sneak aboard this cargo plane and stowaway to Paris, you will be monitored and your actions will be collected into a report which I will deliver to Lady Litvak upon returning to Barin."

"Excellent!" Kostanina smiles, her 'exploiting a loophole' was a success. The lessons of Barin had taught her much indeed. "Quickly there is not much time before the plane takes off. Take the cargo box next to me, it is smaller but with your build you shall fit."

Kostantina immediately jumped onto her respective box before looking at the small peepholes that the dead one is still staring at her respective hiding place.

"What is wrong get inside!"

"....There are no airholes inside this shipment container." She replied looking back at the stalker.

"...."

"...."

"You are Russain, you shall survive."

-----

And done! How was it? Probably crap since I thought of it on the spit but I really needed to get this off my chest. Doubt it canon material anyway but Stalker was surprising absent and needed to be added in somewhere.

Katsumi has already seen the 'proper' version of this episode, but for Jess' sake she does not voice her complaints at the changes to the music. She does not like the name changes, and she thinks that this Rick Hunter somehow sounds more annoying in English than he did in the original Japanese. She finds her anger towards Minmei has not faded over the years, and is delighted when Jessica squeezes her hand and points at the offending pop singer and says: "GAWD I hate her she's so dumb!"

Jessica squirms in Katsumi's lap as the episode's action kicks into high-gear. Maxine Sterling, a witch/pilot/genius, engages in combat with the Meltran ace Miria, and the dramatic battle in and around the SDF-1 plays out on screen. The music isn't right, but the battle theme still gets the blood pumping.

Katsumi and Jessica both agree that Roy Fokker sounds manly as hell.

"Lets get on with it!" Roy shouts, diving into the animated furball.

When his Veritech (Valkyrie!) takes a strafing run by a passing Meltran battle suit and begins trailing smoke, Jessica squeaks with fear.

"He's really gotta be careful Kat..." she whimpers.

-

Five minutes later, Roy Fokker is dead.

Rather than accept medical attention for his injuries, he tried to spend one final night with his lover, dying in her room. A pineapple salad left uneaten, his guitar falling sadly to the floor as Roy collapsed to the ground, his mortal wounds revealed to the audience.

It takes Jessica an hour to stop crying. She remains wrapped around Katsumi the entire time, the older witch gently stroking her hair.

"What a stupid asshole," Jess sniffles. "Pilots are jerks."

"Your brother isn't a jerk," Katsumi gently chides the girl.

"He d-didn't even say goodbye or see you around or anything," Jessica snaps, on the verge of weeping yet again. "He just runs off and now I dunno when I'm gonna see him or any of my brothers again and then this stupid show kills off the best guy and everything!"

>>34102196
Katsumi isn't certain how to reply to that.

She wants to try and explain (again) to Jessica that this is supposed to be an example of something that Japanese culture appreciates, and that it's understandable that she does not feel the same way about it. It's okay to be upset about the way things turned out, but it's an allegory to how war can take the best and brightest lights out of your life, and that the only to honor the fallen is to move on and fight in their name and-

And Katsumi stops herself before she even begins the explanation.

"Okay Jessica, maybe your big brother is a bit of a jerk for not saying good bye."

"I knew you'd agree with me..." Jess sniffles again, hugging Katsumi that much tighter. After another long moment, she finally extricates herself from Katsumi's lap, rubbing at her face fiercely. Wordlessly, she suddenly sprints out of the rec room, almost bowling over a pair of matrons.

-

Samantha Wells disappointed to already be packing up shop from Barin, even more disappointed that her pilot is nowhere in the castle to chat with.

Somehow, she's not as bothered by this as she thought she'd be. Kenji is at her side, helping her pack away the more delicate pieces of equipment.

And that feels really good.

"As expected, your ability to organize has made this much easier on all of us." Kenji gives Merlin a light pat on the back, which sends a shock through her entire frame.

"I-I just... y-you know..." she stutters. She wants to ask him for a headpat, but the mere thought gets her blushing so hard that she can't even finish her sentence. She settles for leaning closer to Kenji, shuddering as an arm falls over her shoulder, pulling her even closer to him.

The door to her shop getting kicked open gets Kenji and Merlin to yelp with surprise.

Jessica Bishop is in the doorway, huffing and puffing, looking very upset.

Jessica fishes through her pockets as she stalks towards Merlin, dropping her ID card on the face of the witch at her feet. Somewhere outside of the shop, Princess Katsumi can be heard trying frantically to explain that she's come to collect her wayward bodyguard to the tank witches on patrol.

Kenji smoothly tries to place himself between Jessica and Merlin. He is just as smoothly moved aside and into a wall as Jess tears her foot out of the witch's grasp, still walking towards Merlin.

"H-h-hi Jess-"

Jessica slaps her hands onto Samantha's shoulders, their foreheads clashing together.

"Hi Merlin. I have a favor to ask of you."

Merlin squeaks and nods at Jessica. Nobody in the room who has dealt with Jessica Bishop has ever heard her sound so calm.

"You fly with my big brother." Jessica says quietly. "So it's your responsibility to keep him safe."

"Wh-what are you-"

"And that means if he gets hurt, you make sure he gets help."

"What are you-"

"And that also means no pineapples!" Jessica finishes dramatically.

The room is deathly quiet as everyone tries to process what has just transpired. Katsumi is now in the doorway, leaning against the frame and sighing with relief and embarrassment.

Merlin clears her throat, suddenly brimming with confidence.

"Of c-course I'll keep him safe, I-I'm the best RIO i-in the fleet."

The two witches nod at eachother, having reached an understanding. Jessica spins on her heel and makes a beeline for Katsumi, wrapping her up in another hug as they walk out of the hangar, ignoring the fuming tank witches following them.

Kenji picks himself up from the ground, rubbing the growing bump on his head. "Are you okay, Samantha?"

"Uh-huh." She feels even better when Kenji returns to her side.

I was kind of going with a buddy cop feel or Konstantina gains a Merlin from this and the idea grew on me.

Hopefully it doesn't extend beyond that.

Material came from the katya lewd on how she viewed Natlya and how Frank viewed her as wel while she was in the buff.

Kind of compared her to Merlin in that aspect and ran with it.

Needed to explain my insanity but glad you enjoyed it. Might make more depending on a lot of factors

Already have an idea on the shopping trip

Poor Frank. He actually likes Pineapple, you know.

I wonder how far this restriction on pineapple will go. no pineapple ham? pizza? cake?

poor frank. poor, poor pineappleless frank.
>>
>>34103176
What does that mean?

Is it some sort of innuendo?
>>
>>34103189

It means he likes Pineapple, and Jess and Merlin are going to actively conspire to keep him away from it because Jess is watching Robotech.
>>

I am confus

Wasn't Jess supposed to be in Nippon?

>Pineapple
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pineapples&page=2

Form what I can gather from here. I think Frank does that to himself enough

Next time on SQ89, Franks somehow returns to Barin one last time loaded with Pineapple foods and clothing. Somehow. Katya in a pineapple dress. Hah.

"That was very... you of you, Jessica," Katsumi says as they return to their shared room. Ogawa can be heard protesting outside, but that seems to fade away as they sit down on the bed together.

"I'm sorry if I caused you trouble but I had to make sure that squid keeps my big bro safe since I can't be around to do it but you better believe nothing would get close to him if I was around..." Jessica wipes her eyes again. "Stupid show made me all worried about him and oh my God am I never gonna let him forget about this..."

"You can always try and join Spellcaster, Jessica," Katsumi says quietly, laying back against the pillows, and beckoning Jessica towards her. "You don't have to follow me back to Japan."

"Here's fine," Jessica smiles, using the princess as a pillow cushion.

"I am very glad you think so."

"Mmm."

"Maybe you should not watch that show if it upsets you so..."

"It's just a dumb cartoon I just had a thought and well you know how that goes..."

"Pineapple doesn't actually cause bad things to happen to-"

"Noooooope."

"But-"

"Nooooooooooooope!"

-

Months later, Frank Bishop realizes that somehow, every time he comes close to pineapple, it disappears before he can eat any of it.

------------

And that's where I'll end this. Took me longer to write this up than I expected!

>>34103298
AFAIK, Jess and Katsumi return to Nippon in time for the events of PJWitches. This was just a spur of the moment sort of thing I decided to write up, so there might be inaccuracies.
>>
>>34103298

SW89 and PJW89 don't always occupy the exact same period of time, so merc could be set after Frank's left and Jess and Kat have returned, or before they joined him at the castle.
>>
>>34103335

No more pineapples.

Aw.

No more hawaiian pizza
>>
>>34103349

I think after makes more sens due to the fact Frank met Rex.

Sliders date should be narrated by Steve as a safari where Slider tries to use her reptillian wiles to snare the tananian eagle but Fronk's natural defences (read:density) fend her off at every turn.

She has yet to get us back for the previous trolling
