---------------------------------------------------------

Thunder rolls overhead. Lightning flashes. Rain patters around you.

It is not a storm that rages above you.

Rockets soar high through the air, crashing into the distant ceiling and exploding in flashes of flame and force. Debris falls and coats the area in shrapnel. An angel dances amidst it all.

All the while far below, huddled in darkness, you and your comrades take cover.

You glare out from under a platform dotted with mechanical devices. The figure of the famed Cybertronian knight flits about in the darkness above. His sword, a brilliant piece of white light, arcs around him in a defensive web. The weapon was barely able to keep up with the awsome firepower of a pair of gunship blazing away at him. The knights' showed his skill by parring multiple blasts, but the gunships were keeping him at bay with apparent ease. They lazily strafe this way and that, never allowing him to close with either.

You swing your optics along the ground level. Out in the distance you see the third gunship Cybertronian moving around empty energon cubes and machinery. He is heading your way.

You growl at the turn the day had taken.

Looking back to your companions you see their silhouettes in the darkness, glowing splotches of energon marking them out. You were all weary. Damaged and low on energon.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you want us to do here except run. The least time we faced even one of these things it beat the shit out of us, and now there are three. Logically, the only course of action that isn't suicide is to flee.

>Ask the 'Cons if they know what's going on and if they know an exit.

They'll hopefully know more than we do.

With little time and no exit strategy you decide to take the fight to the big lug coming your way.

"Copper, I want to hit this slag-sucker hard and take him down fast. Any suggestions?"

The stout 'Bot next to you glances out of cover and up at the structure you were hiding under.

"Fivefold maneuver." he says.

"What?"

You see his hand raise in the darkness. "You an' a couple others get up top an' wait. When he's close enough we'll have some one break cover an' make a run for it. When he goes for them we hit 'im with a hit an' run, then you lot drop down and hit 'im harder. Then the rest o' us will hit from behind."

"That's not quite five moves..."

"Well we don't have any grenades or ramps so we'll make do."

"Right." you sigh. It honestly did not sound like much of a plan.

"One moment." you activate your comm and put it on a open channel. "Blancorvus, this is one of the ones you just saved. Do you read me?"

Seconds tick past without an answer.

Switching off the comm with a growl and nod to Copper."Right. So ah figure you were listenin'?"

There is a flash of an explosion and you see the shadows of over a dozen figure looking at him.

"Arclight, you an' th'Con grunt are goin' with Kracken..." your here the Decepticon voice a protest only to be silenced by his comrades' elbow. "They're gonna head up and get ready. Once you hear th'attack begin y'drop on 'im."

He looks to the silhouette of Gyro. "Gyro I want you to draw him in. "

Copper points at Dasher. "I want you and th'others to hit him fast an' get out. Me an' th'Con will hit 'im from behind."

You hear chorus of affirmatives.

More explosions sound of above.

"This is a military maneuver. Cons, you're trained and built for this slag. The rest of you, I want you to do exactly as you'r told. No heroics, just hit him hard, hit him fast. Get out if you have to" you say. Not the most inspiring speech, but you lead with actions.

Moving to the back of the platform and help Arclight climb up a support. Following her is the 'Con and yourself.

The three of you crawl your way back around dead machines and reach the edge of the platform. Above you lines of cannon fire arc out into the darkness.

Below you see the outline of the big Transformer moving around a stack of cubes. To the side you think you see Copper and the other 'Con.

It was almost time.

"I'll go first." you whisper to your companions.

Your foe rounds the stack. His heavy feet thump as he pushes forward. In a brief flash of illumination you can see that he has several cracks in his hull and especially his legs. Two clusters of purple optics glare about like searchlights.

Once he is close enough you hear a shout and the sound of wheels peeling out. The Cybertronians' optics spit a barrage of energy blasts under the platform and he rushes forward.

You see several blast pelt him from just to the side only to be stopped by the of lattice of his energy shields. You lunge.

You dive towards the big 'Bot and hook your fingers into the missile pod on his left shoulder. You swing around and grab the pod with your other hand and activate the gloves. An electrical shoots out and you see the hexgrid of his energy shield start to form. This time, however, its a bright white blue and only extends a bit away from your hands before unraveling.

Right after this the Decepticon lands on the other missile pod and plants his combat knife into the top of it. He is quickly followed by Arclight swinging one of her bulky fists into the larger 'Bots' chestplate.

Disoriented and off-balance, he is fully unprepared for Coppers cannon shot taking him in the back of the knee. The big Cybertronian topples and you and the 'Con roll away from his fallen mass.

As he rolls onto his side Dasher and the NAILs open up with their blasters. A few shots score across his hull and knock out a few optics but the shield reactivates and blocks the bull of the incoming fire.
Once more the angry red hexgrid covers the Cybertronian as he rolls to his knees.

Your hands hammer down into the exposed circuitry and sends a surge of electricity directly into his nervous system. The hexgrid doesn't even begin to form and his body shudders and twitches. Sparks shoot out of the ruined sockets on his face.

"Hit him!" you roar. "Go for the head and legs!"

Copper and the 'Con rush forward, Copper fires a single shot from his rifle then reverses his grip and holds it like a club. The shot strikes the side of the large Cybertronians neck. The 'Con thrusts a bayonet that sprouts from her wrist towards his face but it only scores a long cut along his head before burying the blade in his shoulder.

Behind you the others have begun unloading the last of their shots into the gunship Transformers' legs.

Your teeth slice into the back of his head and begin slowly sawing their way in.

Copper and the Decepticon move in for another strike only for the 'Con to get smacked aside. Copper gets caught in the scissoring
blades of the big guys' hand and slammed into the ground.

The Cybertronian lifts himself up and tries to get his legs under him, only to fall forward as they buckle at the knees. Slamming into the ground proves to be jarring enough for your teeth to breach his thick skull and tear a chunk of his head away. He goes still after that.

>Energon Reserve-58/171

You rear up and roar at the kill, fury swirling within.

"A little help 'ere?" You look down and see Copper pinned under the large claw.

Your maw seems to grin at him. You scurry down and begin prying the blade away. It proves tough as the points are stuck in the metal floor but Arclight comes to lend a hand and the two of you manage to move it.

The others move up to join you. No one seems hurt except the 'Con who is leaking oil and energon from her fractured hull. She probably would not be moving if the other 'Con was not holding her up.

"I think that went well." Gyro says with a half smile.

That is when the room lights up bright as day for a second time.

Looking above you see a beam slowly fading, its trajectory taking it right through on of the gunships. The ship is now belching smoke and falls to the ground below with a thunderous crash. By the looks of it the beam came from somewhere in the distance opposite of where you entered the room.

With only one gunship to deal with Blancorvus has begun to advance on the remaining one in a series of dips and dodges. The gunship seems to be frantically retreating and is directing all the firepower it can manage towards the knight.

>(Continued)

>>34123664
Dipping low then swinging up, the knight slices off the nose gun of the gunship and arcs above it. He swings down and slices another chunk out of its side.

On the ground you see the gunship that was shot from the sky has transformed into another Cybertronian and was firing rocket into the distance.

"Sooo," Gyro starts. "Do we wanna stay and thank our saviors? Or get moving?"

You look over the assembled Transformers. Copper has a few new deep lacerations in his hull, Gyro and Dasher look exhausted beyond belief, and the rest aren't faring much better. Rewire and a NAIL manage to drag the energon converter and junky over and Arclight picks them up. Other NAILs are carrying the wounded and bits of weapons they have scavenged from the battle.

They were a sorry looking group. You probably didn't look much better.

The various members of the group shift and look to each other. A few glance skyward.

To your surprise it is the NAIL ringleader who speaks up.

"We've done alright so far. Let's get out of here before more nasty surprises show up."

"There is a service elevator that way," the 'Con grunt says and points in a direction that would take you behind the other grounded gunship Transformer. "It probably lacks power but slopes enough to drive up."

"Then let's go." you say with a nod.

The groups moves towards the elevator in a wide curve as to avoid the conflict. The going is slow and by the time you have reached it there have been two more bright flashes of some awesome firepower being unleashed.

Once you reach the elevator those who can transform and begin the ascent while the injured ride on top.

It is completely dark besides the few headlights the group possesses. The limited visibility and the sound of multiple engines in the enclosed space makes for an eerie climb.

During the trip Rewire manages to calibrate the comms so everyone is synced. Everyone except the 'Cons who stated that to do so would be a crime. They do offer their names as Drive-By and Dust.

You also learn the NAIL ringleaders' name is Quarry and that he was a proponent of workers' rights before the war.

The climb is long. Gyro and Dasher scout ahead as the fastest members of the group and report that level after level is completely without power. It seems Cybertron really is dying.

After nearly two hours you come to an exit that leads you above ground. You pass it by as fire and smoke are the only things to be seen.

With Arclight and Quarrys' help you manage to find a relatively safe pass to an elevator that leads up to the Tri-Torus Loop, the continent spanning super highway. Thankfully the emergency elevator here has its own energon stash that can bring the group up to the top, though it would take a couple trips for everyone.

You send Copper, Dasher, Quarry and a few of the others up on the first ride. While waiting for the elevator to come back down Gyro is on her comm trying to get a hold of the merchants and you are on guard duty with Drive-By.

Rewire approaches you.

"Hey uh, Kracken?"

"Hmm?"

"So... what are we gonna do?"

You raise an opticbrow at the little medic.

"We get a hold of the merchants then get out of here."

He looks pensive. "Yes. I know that, I mean, like after. Where do we go after all this?"

You see others look over in nervousness. Drive-By seems to be ignoring the conversation, but was eavesdropping just the same.

>"We go where the merchants take us, who knows where."
>"We head to the Commonwealth worlds. Chief Justice Tyrest will take us in."

Thinking for a moment you shrug. "The way I see it we can go look for my batch-sister. Where ever she is you can bet the Primal Vanguard will be too. Bunch of trigger happy fanatics. Don't know how accommodating she would be though..." you trail of in thought. Hydra had always been... hard. Who knows what time and war had done to her. "I suppose we could find some alien world to hide on. Rest. Recuperate."

You look the young medic in the optics. "All I know is that we need to get out of the path of this rusted war."

You hear a chime come from the elevator a moment before the doors slide open.

"Let's go everyone." you call.

Standing in the elevator as it travels up Gyro gives you some good news, though she seems displeased.

"Got a hold of my friends, they said they were still in the wharf, and I managed to convince them to wait for us and grant us all passage on their ship."

"Good." you say. Standing there with your arms crossed you look up at Gyro. "There's a but."

"Welllll," she looks down at the floor. "I had to sell the rights to one of my Helium3 deposits."

You scoff.

She glares at you for trivializing her pain. "AND, they said there was a reason they were still out in the middle of no-where wharfcity."

"Oh?"

"They saw a Terrorcon."

"Great." you grumble.

Once the elevator reaches the top the groups reunite. Copper informs you that nothing interesting happened while waiting for your slow gearboxes to shift. All along the bridge you see broken and burnt-out transports and the odd Cybertronian body.

Before everyone leaving for the 400 kilometer trip Rewire stops you.

"Kracken, if you give us an hour Arclight and I can drain the energon from the elevator and give us all a recharge." Behind him Arclight gives a thumbs up.

Looking over the sprawling junk you seek out something that looks like it has anything of value. Preferably something that hasn't been looted yet.

You pass up the high class vehicles, those would have been rummaged through first, and glance through the windows of several smaller transports. You see nothing until you spot one under the trailer of a transport that had rolled over. On the side of the transport is a an advertisement for Wharf Eels, the small electric eels that can be found in the rust sea. Inside you find a low grade pistol and several cans of energon. In the compartment next to the drivers' interface you find a key for the back.

When you open it you find tanks of dead eels and a toolbox. You take the tool box and go on your way.

Moving on you come across a transport train that was six cars long. It is bunched up against the partition, meaning there had to be areas on the other side that were not easily accessible.

Climbing on top you see Quarry and several other NAILs had the same idea and are working together to look through the closed of areas.

Jumping down in one solitary area you start to search.

Overturning a sheet of metal you find a Cybertronian.

Long offline and a Sentry by the look of him, though you don't know his name. His dark blue hull has long since rusted and the red badge of office was tarnished and dented. You growl and check him, finding another low grade pistol, two stun grenades, and a glue grenade. In his outstretched hand you find a night stick capable of launching the grenades.

>(continued)
>>
>>34127073
Continuing your search you around the Sentry you locate a small medkit with one nano-repair tube within. Satisfied with your search you head back to the group.

When you arrive you see that they have already begun hooking people up to the energon converter. Copper gives you a cheery hello and jerks his thumb towards it.

"Ah already went a round, you should too or did y'hit th'buffet already?" he laughs a booming bass laugh.

You scoff at him and move to the converter where Rewire and Arclight are working diligently.

Placing the energon cans and toolbox on the ground you get yourself hooked up alongside two other NAILs.

>Energon Reserve-70/171

It seems like it would take a while to fully charge you up.

Looking over the tools Rewire says, "Excellent! I can do some repairs! Minor ones at least."

You give him the go ahead and he takes the tools and starts to repair the most heavily damaged members of the group.

As time goes on the sun appears to set, though it only seems to get marginally darker under the thick clouds in the sky.

You nod.

He runs a hand over his face then slaps it on his chestplate.

"Well that won't stop us."

"of course not," you say, "I just don't know how to deal with the walking dead."

He shrugs. "Y'kill it again, I'd wager."

"Oh yeah," you say sarcastically, "Hadn't thought of that."

"Everythin' goes down if y'through enough firepower at it." he replies with a smirk.

>Energon Reserve-94/171

Eventually you switch out with Quarry after he comes back with a tank of oil and little else. You do not think it is much but Rewire enthusiastically takes it to aide in repairs.

You have a little time left before you set off.

dust (whichever is the higher ranked con, assuming this is the bronze bot from before)

I'd like to know what their plans are, and why the cons are still with us. I figure a provisional truce would've been over once they had a clear path of escape.

Is it weird if adored be yelled at by Megatron in War and Fall? I mean, you get into a fast paced capture the flag game with both teams constantly picking up and losing the flag and hes just yells and yells... it was delightful.

Megatron's voice actor is awesome in both games. He really sells the utter certainty Megatron has about all of his actions.

You walk over to Quarry. He is sitting with a couple other NAILs on the back of a flatbed transport. The three cut there discussion short when they notice your approach and the two NAILs seem to take an interest in the surroundings.

"Quarry." you say as a greeting.

"Kracken."

All four of you spend a moment looking every which way but at each other.

You break the silence.

"We aren't headed to the Autobot ship."

"That's what I heard." he says while examining the skyline. The inferno still rages below, smoke billows up to join the toxic clouds in the sky.

"That gonna be a problem?" you ask, turning your gaze to him.

"Not at all. There's nothing left here."

You nod and turn away.

"Don't expect us to stick around long after." he calls. You half turn back and look intently at the NAILs.

>Roll 4 successes!

Examining the NAILs you see three sullen, angry individuals. Their sloping shoulders, downcast optics, the small, furtive hand movements.

They were ashamed.

It was probably due to getting caught by the Decepticons. They were all gun-ho about making it on their own then they ran into something they couldn't possibly handle.

You turn away. They needed to soak for a bit. Pull themselves out of their funk.

That's how a Transformer learns. Stress causes change.

There is another thing you know that was making them angry.

You move on. Walking past NAILs and your companions you arrive at the edge of the sprawling group.

The Decepticons did not seem to want to mix with the others.

Drive-By stands just away from the short wall at the edge of the road. He holds a pistol in one hand, the other loosely grasping his forearm. He looks in fairly good shape, some deep cuts and dents along his dark purple hull.

Dust was a lot worse off. Missing an arm, an optic cracked and dark. Her bronze hull was dented and crumpled all over, oil and energon stains covering the surface. She sits against the wall with her legs stretched out, her remaining arm cradling her midsection. Here and there patches of metal had been welded on the worse parts of damage.

"What do you want." Drive-By asks gruffly in a smokey voice.

>"Why are you still here?"

You look from one 'Con to the other.

"I'm surprised you didn't run when we ambushed that Transformer down there. Or at any other point in our little trip together really. Why are you still here?" you ask amicably.

"And go where?" Drive-By asks.

Your mouth quirks a bit.

"To the other Decepticons? Rejoin your forces?"

"Psh. With Dust like this? I wouldn't make it. And if I did Motormaster isn't big on first-aide..."

Dust groans then looks up at her companion.

"Idiot..."

"What?"

"Who's Motormaster?" you ask.

"He, I uh..." Drive-By shuffles in embarrassment.

"I can't believe we came from the same batch." Dust groans again. She looks you in the optics.

"Motormaster is the commanding officer of this theater, he's big, mean and ugly. Survival of the fittest type. A thug really."

"Hmm." You knew the type, the kind of Transformer who would make his own low grade gangs to bully other low grade gangs, the kind that made for high grade enforcers if their ego could take it.

"So what are you gonna do?"

They both shrug.

Looking at the two 'Cons you see a couple of lost sparks. That unsure attitude probably lead to them joining the Decepticons, along with the viciousness and skill you saw in the sub-levels.

Dust seemed lost in her own mind, staring off at the ground a short ways away. Drive-By looked bitter and angry.

Clearly neither liked where they were or where they thought were going.

>"Your welcome to travel with us. We aren't Autobot, so keep your war away from us."

>"So, couple of rough and tough Decepticons who lost their way. You have anything to say?"

I'm actually OK with recruiting these guys, but the first option feels too open, and the second feels too confrontational. This seems like it's trying to get them to come out and say they'd rather ditch the decepticons, which would be a good way to start working together.
>>
>>34129658
>"You can stick with us, but one wrong move and I shove her arm down your exhaust pipe."

Kraken does tough love when straightening out youngsters. Also, kinky.
>>
>>34129718
I have to say, I really do like the contrast between Kraken being a walking nightmare that eats people and the fact that, like the case with the junky, he can't stop doing the entire protect and serve part of his job when the option presents itself.
>>
>>34129658

>"Your welcome to travel with us. We aren't Autobot, so keep your war away from us."

Then i suppose it would be a good idea to give the nano repair tube to the one with a single arm.

"So, couple of rough and tough Decepticons who lost their way. You have anything to say?" you say to the pair.

Drive-Bys' hand drops from his arm and clenches. Dust huffs.

"Thrill seekers who didn't know how far the real mean machines would go. You weren't ready when things got hardcore were you?"

"It was fun at first," Dust says, "Some arson, armed robbery..."

"Kid stuff." you interrupt.

Drive-By stares at his feet while Dust goes silent.

"Listen, you can stick with us, but one wrong move and I shove her arm down your exhaust pipe."

They remain silent.

"Got it?" you growl like a diesel engine.

They nod.

You begin to walk away but turn back. "Stay away from the NAILs for now, they don't like you much."

"Done inspiring the troops General?" Copper asks as you walk up.

"Go rust." you reply. "We good to go?"

He laughs. "O'sure. Good as we'll ever be."

You call everyone together and plot the course. It was 400km to Praetorus Wharf and the road was littered with debris. It is decided that the fastest route is along the central path used by emergency vehicles. It is narrow but the high partitions would have kept most of the accidents out of it.

The dozen or so of your group transform and roll out single file, those too wounded to transform riding on those who could. You had a seat on some smaller construction NAIL while Arclight, her alt to wide for the path, rode on Copper. She held the energon converter while Dasher had the junky draped over her hood. Dust was clinging to Drive-Bys' sleek hood and winced every bump. Quarry and Gyro carried the scavenged supplies.

>>34130051
The drive is long. The path is a thin strip with high walls that goes on far into the distance. An endless path between two strips of destruction and death. To either side there are burnt-out and still smoking wrecks of commerce come to a stand still. Every once in a while some of the wreckage has spilled into the center road and the convoy has to stop and circumvent it.

Eventually the smoke begins to clear. The columns of toxic ash stop rising to the sky. You even see a bit of light trying to pierce through the cloud cover.

It was near the half way point you get a call on your comm.

"Kracken, we have incoming from behind. Few kilometers back." Arclights' unusually high pitched voice informs you.

"Know who it is?"

"No, but he's big."

"How big?"

"Just drove through a C-class transport without slowing down big."

C-class... those were the big flatbeds if you remember right.

Well slag.

I don't think a fight will end well.
At least not for us.
>>

Snarling you order the convoy to stop.

"We'll stand and fight. Take up defensive positions. Copper!"

"Yeah!" the soldier calls as he transforms, Arclight stumbling off him.

"I want you directing us."

"Right right." he says and looks around. "I want Gyro, you, th'Con and me on top o' that transport there. The rest o' ya stay in this section, get around 'im if'n y'can."

A chorus of affirmatives sound out and everyone moves to position. You climb up to the roof of the transport with the other three and get a look on the oncoming foe.

He is big all right, the size of two Tramm cars, black with angular red lines covering him from tip to tail. The front is wedge shaped and it allows him to plow through debris with ease.
On the roof of him id a large high grade cannon.
He cleaves through several transports and numerous smaller vehicles without slowing a bit.

"That Motormaster?" you ask Drive-By.

"No."

The massive vehicle smashes through more smaller transports and heads straight towards your position.

"Uh, I think we should bail!" Gyro says nervously.

The newcomer thunders through more debris and you decide that is a good idea.

>Roll 4 success!

The large vehicle plows on relentlessly, none of the wreckage in its path slowing it down in the least.

"Move!" you yell and jump. Leaping sideways you roll and dive, just in time as the transport you were on is split by the oncoming vehicle.

You see Gyro glide through the air and land on the partition while Copper and Drive-By hit the tumble to the ground in a clamor. Neither seem injured.

The large red and black being continues on its path, cleaving through all in its path.

"The slag was that!" Gyro calls from her perch.

"That was Carnage." A voice says.

You and your companions turn. Flying out to the side of the Loop is a familiar white knight. "See, he detected dark energon. Not a good idea to be between him and it." Blancorvus says with a bright smile.
