You are a young human doctor, abducted by the K'tulu, and recently released by demand of the Galactic Senate. Recently Angelicia, one of your friends and fellow abductee, approached you about an offer she received to go on an expedition into one of the last untouched ruins close to the settlement. Given your lack of other options, it was fairly easy for Angelicia to convince you to attend a meeting with the leader of the expedition to determine whether or not you were interested in joining up with him.

The Dancing Vine is not exactly what you had expected when Angelicia told you where her contact wanted to have your meeting...you'd expected a high-end restaurant, an orderly bar where you could sit down and discuss terms, or maybe even a sort of tavern-like establishment to round out the weirdness that'd become of your life lately...instead you got an enormous strip club. The moment you stepped through the door of the club your senses were assaulted from all directions by flashing neon lights, deafeningly loud music, and the smells of sweat, cheap booze, and an unidentifiable scent wafting over to you from one of the dancers passing your group.

"Somehow I feel ridiculously over-dressed right now." You mutter in annoyance, before turning your attention to an equally annoyed Angelicia and an enthused-looking Tom.

"It's a strip club...I wore a dress and heels for a fucking strip club!" The mechanic groans, looking at you in frustration, "Who the hell has a business meeting in a strip club?" She asks incredulously, looking to you for answers that you clearly don't have.

Tom chuckles in amusement at her outburst, offering the two of you a bright smile, "I don't see what the two of you are so upset about, this place seems to fit both of your personalities pretty well. Besides, maybe it's just because I was locked up for too long, but some of those young women are looking pretty goo- ah...that isn't a woman...well, it's close enough, anyways."

The two of you merely stare at the older man for a few moments before you let out a loud sigh and try to force several unwanted images from your mind before looking back to Angelicia. "Well, we're already here, we might as well find this guy you were talking about and get this meeting over with." You tell her, doing your best to focus on the meeting you're here for rather than the various dancers on the stage and wandering around the tables.

The mechanic nods in agreement, letting out a small sigh of her own as she pays the cover charge for all three of you, "Yeah, that works for me. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner I can get out of this damned dress." She mutters harshly, almost immediately directing a glare at you as you start to open your mouth. "I can still kick your ass, Doc, don't make me do it in front everybody."

A small chuckle escapes you at her threat, though you decide to let it go this time at least, "Fine, I'll be good." You reply with a grin while falling into step beside her as she leads your trio deeper into the chaos that is the club. The crowded interior of the club does not help with your search in the least, but thankfully it doesn't take Angelicia too long to spot the man.

As soon as she points him out to you, you have to wonder how you could have possibly missed him before. He looks almost human, in fact his body shape is practically perfectly human and he's dressed in an extremely well-tailored suit, what sets him apart is his face or, rather, his lack of one. Where most people's faces, human or otherwise, would be is merely a featureless stretch of silver skin, and as your group gets close you can clearly see yourselves reflected in his head.

"Ah, it is wonderful to see you again, Miss Owens, I was absolutely ecstatic when you called me to set up this meeting." The man's buzzing voice forces you from your distraction, leading you to suddenly realize that you had been staring at him nearly this entire time, though if he's noticed it doesn't seem as if he's bothering to acknowledge it. "I was disappointed to hear that Mister Reece wouldn't be joining us, though I quite understand, however I don't believe I have met either of these two men here. Surely one of them must be the infamous Mister Yarrick?"

Something about the way he said that bothers you, or maybe it's just that it was him saying it. Regardless you've got several questions you'd like to ask him, one of them being why the hell you're holding a business meeting in the middle of a crowded strip club, though to be fair that's hardly the most important one on your mind. You wonder briefly whether you should step up and introduce yourself since he's obviously interested in meeting you, though it's possible that it might be better to just sit back and let Angel take charge for a bit, she is the one that brought this job to your attention, after all.

So what do you want to do?

>Politely introduce yourself, ask him about himself.
>Step up and identify yourself, ask why he's so interested in you.
>Get straight to the point, what exactly is this job about?
>Why the hell are we in a strip club?

Despite the somewhat uneasy feeling the man gives you, you manage to force a smile on and step forward, "That would be me, Mister..."

"Tanis, Mister Yarrick, my name is Jusar Tanis." The mirror-faced man replies primly, surprising you as he extends a metalic hand towards you, "It's a pleasure to meet you, I've heard quite a bit about you on the news, your friends as well, of course, though obviously you were featured most prominently."

The mention of your coverage on the news puts you off just a little, though you manage to hide it fairly well as you politely accept his handshake, "Ah...thanks, I guess." You reply, releasing his hand just a few short moments before he turns towards Tom.

"Of course...so, if that's Mister Yarrick, then clearly you must be Mister Rathbun."

The older man nods politely, accepting your host's handshake much the same as you did, "You would be correct, Sir, though I prefer Tom, if you would." He replies concisely, clearly more interested in the reason for the meeting than introductions. Well, either that or the dancer he had his eyes on earlier.

"Very well then, Tom it is." Tanis replies with a nod, before casting his gaze across your entire group, "Please, take your seats, I'm sure one of the staff will be over soon to take your orders, and we do have some business to discuss."

You raise a somewhat surprised eyebrow at the thought of food being served in a club like this, though you don't question it too much as you join the rest of your party in sitting down at the glass table, a menu appearing on it's surface as you do so, though you choose to ignore it in favor of turning your attention back towards the mirror-faced man. "So, what exactly is it that you do, Mister Tanis? I know that Angelicia said you're leading an expedition into one of the ruins here, but surely the money to hire all of the people for that had to come from somewhere, right?"

You feel, more than see Tanis' gaze turn towards you from his menu, though he remains silent for a few moments, as if he's trying to decide what to say, "That...is a good question, Mister Yarrick. As you said, I am funding an expedition into the last unexplored ruins in this area and, in fact, I fund many such endeavors similar to this one due to the fact that they are usually quite lucrative, however you are correct that the money to fund them must come from somewhere. On that measure, I happen to be an investor in a number of different corporations and am, in fact, the CEO of Anytusc Arms."

You blink in surprise at that revelation, suddenly realizing just how wealthy the man you are speaking to must actually be...though it only makes you wonder why he's sitting here discussing this with you himself, rather than having someone else do it, "Oh...well, I suppose that would definitely do the job." You reply, note entirely sure how else to respond to the information, and from the looks on Angelicia and Tom's faces you're not the only one that's surprised.

Tanis declines his head slightly in a small nod, "Indeed...however, it does not leave me with an over-abundance of free time, as I'm sure you can imagine. The fact that I am sitting here with you now is merely a fortunate side-effect of some rather unfortunate circumstances with some of the investors of my Cybernetics division. I will not discuss it beyond saying that I have been forced to come here to deal with the situation personally. That said, I fear that yourself and Miss Owens are mistaken in the belief that I will be leading this expedition. I am merely funding it for the betterment of my various business partners and myself, there are quite a few valuable relics and technologies to be found in these ruins, and it is my hope that this particular expedition will result in some...significant results."

>>34146037
You nod in understanding at his statement, though a questioning look dominates your face as you do so, "I think I understand, Sir, but if this kind of thing is as common for your business as you're making it sound, wouldn't you have a dedicated team or something for it? Why are you so interested in hiring us?"

Angelicia looks at you in a small amount of surprise, apparently not having really considered that, though Tom nods in agreement with you, "Jack does make a point, Mister Tanis, all you really know about us is that we're a bunch of humans that helped fight off a pirate raid on the ship we came over on, unless you've somehow manged to get the Grays to talk to you about us, and I'm pretty sure we all know that the chances of that are about the same as a snowball's chance in hell."

Tanis shrugs off the questions as if they were simple multiplication and division problems, looking at you and Tom equally as he does so, "There's no conspiracy behind it, if that's what you're worried about, Mister Yarrick. I do have dedicated teams for plunging into the ruins, however I usually prefer to hire on a few freelancers to bolster their ranks, though I would like to discuss the terms of your temporary employment with you, if you wouldn't mind. Nothing major, merely what you can expect to be paid, restrictions to what you can and can not take from the ruins, that kind of thing, in fact I'm sure we could even accomplish that task before our servers arrive, seeing as how they apparently are not particularly interested in attending to us at the moment. I will have to address that issue in the future."

A small amount of suspicion wells up in you at his apparent interest in changing the subject...he seems perfectly calm with the question, though it's hard to tell when he has no facial features to betray him. You wonder if maybe you should push a little harder on why he wants to hire you, though you will admit that knowing what the terms of your employment would be is important.

So, what do you want to do?
>Push on the topic. Clearly there's something that he doesn't want to tell you about the job, if he wants to change the subject.

Your suspicion continues nagging at your mind somewhat, though you let Tanis move on, deciding to sneak it back into the discussion later and, judging by the lack of interruptions from either of their companions it seems that they're probably thinking the same thing. "Alright then, Sir, what exactly did you have in mind?" You ask, nodding at his veiled threat towards the staff, though just by looking around it's clear that they're more than just a little overworked.

The mirror-faced man perks up a little at your question, apparently pleased that you let the previous topic drop with so little resistance, "Ah, of course. Well, first off I feel that it would be beneficial for us to cover the policy on relics and tech taken from the ruins. I do understand entirely that a large amount of the appeal for exploring the ruins is scavenging, however I must insist that my people keep everything they find and a portion of what you find as well. I'm quite sure that you will be allowed to retain a few of the pieces you acquire, however this is a business endeavor for me and I must make a profit from it somehow." He says simply, though upon seeing the less than thrilled looks on your group's faces he continues on, "Of course you will be paid accordingly, I understand that this is a great sacrifice for your team, Miss Owens, and in addition to the original payment for your services, your team will receive a bonus for each item you bring to my people, according to the appraised value of each piece."

Though you're not entirely thrilled at the idea of just handing over any of the items you find in the ruins, the idea of a bonus for each one of them does manage to take a little bit of the sting off it, before you can come up with a real reply to him though, Angelicia has already spoken up, "I think I can understand where you're coming from, Sir, I'm sure we'll be able to work something out with it."

A small amount of annoyance tugs at you with your friend's statement, though you brush it off easily enough, after all to be fair she's just as much part of the meeting as you are, and he did address her directly. Rather than argue with her you choose to nod, hoping to try and present an at least somewhat unified front, "I'm happy that you and your team are being so civil about it, Miss Owens. Several of the other prospects that my people interviewed were significantly less...composed about it than you were." Tanis replies, seeming to look at the three of you in appraisal before continuing, "Now, moving on, I'd like to talk to you about your payment. Obviously I already mentioned the bonuses you will receive as compensation for whatever you turn in to us, all of which will be credited to your team upon the completion of the expedition, however your base payment will be split up. You will receive half of it upon signing on to the expedition and the other half you will receive upon completion of the expedition." He says, pausing for a moment, as if to take a breath, but before he can continue Tom cuts into his explanation.

"Well, that's good and all, Mister Tanis, I'm sure that Jack and Angelicia appreciate the explanation just as much as I do, however I think before we get too deep into discussing payment, we should determine exactly what you're looking to hire us for?" The older man says, leaning forward and interlocking his fingers over the table.

Tanis turns his gaze towards Tom, seemingly reevaluating him for a few moments, before speaking again, "As I said, Mister Rathbun-excuse me, Tom, I'm looking to hire you on to my expedition into the-"

A small laugh escapes you, though you quickly try to cover it up as a cough, noticing Angelicia hiding a smile behind her hand as you do so, before doing your best be polite while interrupting your host, "I'm pretty sure what he means by that, Sir, is what kind of skills are you looking for in us? Judging by the fact that you're specifically asking us instead of somebody else you aren't just looking for a few pairs of extra eyes and hands, so I can only assume that you're interested in either trying to evaluate our people or, more likely, are looking for some hired guns." You say, allowing yourself to become more blunt towards the end of your sentence, "I mean, by all means, correct me if I'm wrong, Mister Tanis, but it's the only thing that makes sense. And if that's the case then we're going to have to talk about why exactly you need us and what kind of hazard pay we can expect."

You see both Angelicia and Tom's eyes light up in response to that, a smile spreading across your friend's face as she picks up where you left off, "Jack is right, Mister Tanis, he also forgot to mention that if that's the case then we need to discuss how much extra you're willing to pay for our medic."

Tanis cocks his head in confusion at her statement, "Excuse me? I was unaware that any of the members on your team were medical professionals."

The mechanic nods quickly, "Of course, I forgot to mention it, but Jack here is our medic, he was an emergency room doctor back on Earth, and he saved his fair share of lives back on the Deucalion, so clearly he's plenty proficient in battlefield medicine." She says fires off rapidly, clearly confident in your skills, something for which you're grateful for but otherwise are unsure how to respond to.

Your host seems to consider you and your team more closely for a few moments, seeming to eye you in particular for a few moments, before nodding, "Well, I had been prepared to make an initial offer of forty-thousand credits for your services but I am willing to bump that figure up to fifty-thousand credits, and we can negotiate further from there, if you wish."

A somewhat appreciate smile spreads across Tom's face at the increase in payment, "Well, that's a good start, I suppose, though if everybody on our team is interested in coming along that bumps us down to just ten-thousand credits each. I'm not saying that's an insignificant amount, however it seems that we could probably do better than that by going into the ruins on our own. You've also still neglected to tell us why you're so interested in hiring us on or why the fact that we have a medic with us is worth such a large jump in price." He says, bringing your previous suspicions back to the forefront of your mind.

Tanis nods reluctantly at the older man's insistence, finally giving in to your questions, "Of course, I do understand your desire to know what you're getting yourself into. The ruins have been known to contain dangers beyond the mere environmental hazards that explorers should come to expect. From time to time we have discovered some...disturbing flora and fauna some of which seems to exhibit some level of intelligence, as well as occasionally encountering defenses that are still active within the cities and military installations. Little is known about the previous inhabitants, but it seems that while there is only minimal damage to the structures, the extinction itself was quite violent. In addition, it's entirely possible that you may encounter bandits during the expedition. So, clearly, a group of individuals who have proven themselves capable of handling dangerous would be beneficial to have on my side, and off of theirs.
[Choices in next post]

>>34148684
Well...that makes perfect sense actually. Right now your price is sitting at fifty-thousand credits to split between your whole group. You're pretty sure that most of the others are going to be interested in going so, aside from whatever bonuses you'd get from handing over loot, you're probably going to get about ten-thousand credits for the job. It probably wouldn't be too difficult to negotiate with Tanis to up the price a bit, though you're sure that you could probably make a lot more money if you were able to keep all of the stuff you find in the ruins...of course he'd likely be significantly less willing to work with you on that one. Of course you could always try and take the middle option by negotiating for a slightly higher price and trying to convince him to let your team have first pick on everything they find.

So, what do you want to do?

A contemplative look crosses your face as you sit back in your seat, glancing at Tom and Angelicia as you do so, thinking it over for a few moments you realize that while it would be nice to argue for a much higher price, it would probably be more beneficial to you to try and negotiate to keep the items that you find...though honestly you doubt that Tanis would accept just letting you take everything you find, and in that case it might be good to get a little bit extra, just in case the scavenging turns out to be a bust. With that in mind you sit back up and take a breath getting ready to respond to your host when Tom suddenly leans over to you and covers the view of his mouth from Tanis before whispering into your ear, "What exactly do you have in mind, Son? I trust you and all, but it's best if we talk about this before you go running head-long into something like this without telling either me or Angelicia about the plan."

You blink, realizing the mistake you were about to make before nodding and copying the older man's movements, "Well, I was thinking that I would try and get him to give us a small increase in pay and see if we could convince him to let us have first pick on whatever we find." You whisper back to him, glancing momentarily back at Tanis, only to see him leaning calmly back in his seat, clearly not bothered in the least by your impromptu secret meeting.

Tom seems to consider your suggestion for a few moments before nodding appreciatively at it, "I like it...gives us the chance to make some real money off what we pick up, and a little bit of insurance in case we just find a bunch of junk." You nod in agreement, clearly happy with the idea, seeing as it was your own, before he continues, "Why don't you let me talk him into it while you tell your lady-friend what the deal is."

>"Why don't you let me talk him into it while you tell your lady-friend what the deal is."

If she heard this, her reaction would have been amusing.
>>
>>34149495
You roll your eyes at the infuriatingly shit-eating quality of the smile on his face, "Whatever, old man, I'm not going to bother arguing with you right now." You mutter quietly, drawing an amused chuckle from him as you turn to relay the plan to Angelicia as he begins the negotiations.

"Makes sense...seems like it's a pretty good deal to me, Doc." She says, offering you a smile, before looking at you somewhat suspiciously, "But was all that about, you know, just before you told me what's up?"

Shaking your head you blow out a quiet breath, "Trust me, you'd rather not know. It was just Tom being an ass." You mutter to her, drawing an amused smirk from her in response, "...What?"

The mechanic offers you a similar grin to the one Tom displayed just a few moments earlier, "Oh nothing, just marveling at the irony of you saying that about anybody other than yourself. What's the matter, are you worried that the old man has more 'roguish charm' than you?" She asks, feigning concern at the situation, though before you can respond the conversation between the two of you is broken up as you hear Tanis show the first sign of frustration you've seen from him all evening.

"Absolutely not, Mister Rathbun, you know as well as I do that allowing you to keep everything you find is impossible, not to mention increasing your payment in addition to that entirely unreasonable term." He shoots back, clearly aware of the kind of game Tom is playing. "I am, however willing to increase your payment by thirty-thousand, however keeping all of what you find is entirely off the table."
[2/3]
>>
>>34149792
Tom raises a skeptical eyebrow at the counter-offer, shaking his head stubbornly in response, "This isn't just about credits, Mister Thanis, you said yourself that the main attraction to exploring the ruins is the opportunity to scavenge tech and relics, and the addition of thirty-thousand only brings us up to fifteen-thousand each, that's hardly worth the danger of going into those ruins in the first place, never mind the fact that most of the first half of our payment will be going towards making sure that we have all of the gear we need to go into the ruins in the first place! I understand that you need this expedition to be profitable for you, Mister Thanis, but surely you realize that we need it to be worthwhile for us as well. So, how about this then, instead of taking a thirty-thousand credit increase to our payment, you allow us to keep everything we find, and if we find anything that we don't want then we'll go to your people before anybody else, how's that?"

You can practically see the cogs in the mirror-faced man's head turning as he stares back at Tom, silent for several moments before he shakes his head again, "I'm afraid not, Mister Rathbun. You make a good argument, but my profits from this expedition come directly from whatever is salvaged during it's course, that means I need to be able to get as much of it as I can. That said, if you are willing to seventy percent of what your team finds, I will give you first choice on what you get to keep, rather than letting my people pick and choose from it. You'll still get the bonuses for whatever you hand over to my people, and in addition to that I'm willing to increase your payment by fifteen-thousand. I believe that is a fair enough deal, is it not?"

Tom raises a contemplative eyebrow, seemingly going to great pains to make it look conflicted about the decision, before finally nodding, "You're a shrewd negotiator, Mister Thanis, but I think we can work with that deal."
[3/4 Underestimated it]
>>
>>34150076
Thanis shakes his head, clearly not buying the act, though he appears to appreciate the older man's talent for negotiation, "Perhaps I should consider hiring you on as a negotiator, rather than a hired gun, Mister Rathbun. It would seem that you'd be equally dangerous to my opposition either way." He sighs, drawing an amused smile from all three of you, before continuing, "I trust that will be all for our negotiations then? I do have a number of other obligations to tend to, though I'll admit that this has been quite enlightening. I think that it's probably a good thing that there are only a few of your people in the galaxy right now...If I was hiring a group of Koleians then I doubt I would have had to do much negotiating on terms at all."

Glancing at both Tom and Angelicia, you see that they're both as unsure how to respond to his statement as you are, "Thanks...I guess?" You reply with a small shrug, leading your host to incline his head, apparently amused at your response.

"Of course, Mister Yarrick. I think I like your group...it will be interesting to see what you're capable of accomplishing. Now as I said before, while this has been quite enjoyable I really must be going, so do you accept the terms of our agreement? I'd be quite happy to have you and the rest of your team come work for me, if nothing else then to see what you do."

Well apparently this is it, the terms are pretty good, though if he's going to offer you a contract you're sure as hell not going to sign it without making sure that you're not unwittingly signing yourself into slavery. On the surface at least, it seems like this is going to be a pretty good job...do you want to take it?

What are you going to do?
>Accept Tanis' offer.
>Decline Thanis' offer.
>Ask to think about it some, though you doubt that he'd be overly thrilled at your decision. It's likely that he may just hire the rest of your team, and it seems like you're a pretty big part of the deal right now.

You nod slowly, glancing back and forth between your friends as you so, before allowing a small smile to cross your face, "Well it sounds pretty good to me, I mean obviously we can't speak for the rest of our team, but it looks like you've got the three of us at least, unless either of you have any objections?"

Looking back to your friends, you see both of them shake their heads, "Sounds good to me, Son." Tom replies, smiling warmly at you, followed closely by Angelicia.

"Of course I'm going, Doc, I'm not about to let you run off and have all the fun without me. Just because that worked out well enough last time doesn't mean you get to do it again. Hell, we won't even have to deal with Hans shouting at us this time." She says, her smile twisting as if she'd just swallowed a lemon at the memory of the angry German man.

A small laugh escapes you at her obvious dislike of the man, though you reign it in fairly quickly as Tanis stands from his seat and offers each of you a handshake as you all follow his lead, "Very well then, I'm quite happy to hear that. I will send a representative to Miss Owen's room tomorrow afternoon to gather yourselves and any other members of your team interested in joining my expedition. They will be able to explain the contracts to you, though I assure you that they are fairly straight-forward, I merely have to get the terms we agreed on written up tonight." He explains before excusing himself, though almost as soon as he does so he turns on his heel, as if remembering something, "Ah, I almost forgot...we were to have dinner tonight, obviously. Unfortunately, seeing as how the staff here failed to attend to us, I must apologize for not eating with you. I would, however like to offer each of you a line of credit here for the night. Please, order whatever you wish and, if you'd like, feel free to take part in the...attractions."

You and Angelicia stare at Tanis in disbelief, unable to form the words it would take to politely decline his offer, despite your desperate wish to do so. Unfortunately the same clearly can not be said of Tom as he smiles brightly and nods, "Thank you, Mister Tanis, I'm sure we all greatly appreciate it." He replies, ignoring the disbelieving glares that both you and the punk mechanic shoot at him as he does so.

Finally finding your voice you start to step in and decline the offer, only for the older man to stop you half-way there, leaving you staring helplessly as the mirror-faced man turns and continues on his way. Finally, as soon as your host is out of ear-shot, which admittedly doesn't take long with the music, Tom lets go of your shoulder, drawing a glare from you and, you notice, Angelicia, "What the hell is wrong with you, Tom? I mean, if he'd ate with us then letting him pay for dinner is one thing, but letting him do that? What the hell?"

Angelicia looks at you and nods in agreement before turning her glare back on your friend, "Doc's right, hell if I wasn't in heels right now I'd kick your ass." She says angrily, shaking her head, "I mean, you don't do that, Tom! Just...no, you don't do that."

Tom looks on at both of you calmly, clearly unfazed by either of your outbursts, "You guys done yet?" He asks politely, drawing another set of glares from the two of you, though neither of you bother to answer him. "Good. Look, I'll admit that I'm more than happy to just accept that offer with no strings attached, but the point is that telling him no would have been a whole hell of a lot ruder to him than just accepting. It's just how high-level business works, alright? Especially when you don't have to worry about everybody calling it bribing, rather than hospitality. What it comes down to is that you just need to accept the offer and wait for him to leave, then if you don't want to spend his money, then you just don't, alright?"
[Continued]
>>
>>34150866
Slowly your glare lightens somewhat, though you notice that Angelicia's is a bit more reluctant to do so than yours, and after a few moments of letting what the older man said sink in you let out a resigned sigh, "Fine...I guess it makes sense, and now that I think about it I think I remember my Aunt saying something similar a while back, but I still don't like it. I mean, dinner's fine and all, I guess, but all the rest of this..."

You see your friend nod in agreement, though Tom just rolls his eyes, "That's fine, you guys do what you want, but he's going to expect you to at least get dinner tonight, if nothing else. As for myself, I'm going to introduce myself to some of these dancers and have a good time." He says, drawing an annoyed look from Angelicia in response. "Oh come on, you're not going to tell me that all of that punk crap is just for looks are you? How could you of all people possibly have a problem with strip clubs?"

The mechanic fixes the older man with annoyed look before letting out a sigh, "It's not the strippers that are bothering me right now, old man." She mutters, drawing a chuckle from him and, much to her annoyance, a small one from you as well.

Shaking your head you offer you let out a low sigh and offer both of your friends a small smile, "Just let it go, Angel, it's not like we have to buy dances or anything else anyways." You tell her before shrugging towards Tom, "Just...try not to spend too much money, alright?"

The old man only offers you a grin before starting to back away, "Hey, you don't worry about me, I'm just going to have a little bit of fun for the night, it's not like we're going to get another chance quite like this."
[3/4]

Angelicia rolls her eyes at Tom's back before turning towards you, "I hate to admit it, but the old man does have a point, we might as well grab some dinner and some drinks if nothing else." She says, more or less dropping back into her typically easy-mannered self, though you notice that she isn't quite meeting your eye as she says it.

A teasing grin crosses your face at her obvious advance, though you don't bother to say anything as you consider what you'd rather do. Obviously Angelicia's interested in spending some time with you, and it would be nice to sit down, eat some dinner, and have a few drinks with a friend, though as one of the dancers walks by and draws your attention towards the stage for a moment, you consider Tom's view on the situation...and to be fair it has been quite a while since you've had anything more stimulating than a conversation with another person. Of course you could just decide to grab some dinner to go and head back to the hotel, or maybe head somewhere else in town.

So what's the plan?
>Have dinner and some drinks with Angelicia, maybe see where this goes?
>Hit the bar and have more than just a few drinks. Invite Angel if she wants to come, but this is about you, not her.
>Check out the dancers on the stage, see what exactly a line of credit from a CEO can get you.

While I would LOVE to check out the local scenery with this line of credit we got, we're also a medical professional and, considering that we found out that, holy shit the rest of the galaxy is carbon-based and is compatible with human (in terms of atmosphere, food, drink), we would be scared shitless of alien STD's.
So, no checking out the locals until we finish that medical primer.

As your eyes travel back to Angelicia from the stage, you can't help but let your smirk dominate your face for a few moments, "So, is that how you ask people out on a date, or are you just trying to waste time before you go back to the hotel?" You ask her teasingly, your smile widening as she finally tears her eyes from the bar stool she was concentrating on to meet your own.

"That would depend on your answer." She replies innocently, a playful grin spreading across her own face, along with a barely visible blush as she takes a small step forward, bringing the two of nearly face-to-face, "So what's it gonna be, Doc? You interested?"

You feel your heart-rate increase a couple beats at her closer proximity, though you manage to force a thoughtful look onto your face, "Maybe...what would you do if I said no?" You ask, your grin threatening to return to your face as it tugs on the corners of your lips.

The punk blows out a soft sigh, feigning boredom as she looks away from you, "Oh, I don't know, probably just go and get shitfaced at the bar before grabbing one of the strippers from the stage and paying them to come back to my room for the night. You know, to play charades or something." She replies, feigning indifference, though from her quick glance back to you, it's obvious that she's impatiently waiting on your answer.

Finally your will breaks and you let out a chuckle as you nod, "Sure, I'd be happy to, Angel. It'll be fun...besides, I can't let you play charades with a strange alien, it'd be boring...and probably a bad idea without some kind of protection." You reply, your mirth fading somewhat as you consider the possibility.

"Oh, so you're only willing to go on a date with me when I threaten to run off and sleep with some alien stripper? I see how it is, Doc." The mechanic shoots back, though the smile threatening to split her face betrays the act she's trying to put on almost immediately.

You roll your eyes at her response, shaking your head as you slowly start to turn towards the bar, "Well, if that's the way you're going to be maybe I should just let you go and play with the strippers." You reply, though before you even manage to turn all the way around your friend smacks the back of your head playfully.

"Sit back down, you ass, you're not going anywhere." She mutters pushing you gently back towards the table before circling around and sitting down across from you, glancing down at the menu that pops ups on the surface as she does so. "You know, it suddenly occurs to me that we probably just order through this thing. Tanis should have known that, right?"

You raise an eyebrow at the question, the realization dawning on you as well, "Well...yeah, it makes sense." You nod, glancing back down at the menu as well, looking over the drinks and food options, after reading through the lists of ingredients on several of them, and making sure that they don't contain anything toxic, you shrug and look back up at her before tapping a couple of items on the menu, "I guess there's only one way to find out."

The punk nods and follows suit, though she does check with you before tapping on any of the items. After both of you have tapped in your orders, and hoped that it actually worked, rather than just making both of you look like idiots, you start to turn your attention back towards your friend, only for a sudden realization to hit you. "Oh shit..."

Angelicia blinks at you in confusion, "Is...something wrong?" She asks, glancing down at herself somewhat self-consciously before looking around your surroundings when she realizes that there isn't anything wrong with herself.

You shake your head quickly, "No, it's nothing to do with you, but I just realized, I REALLY need to call Tom."

The mechanic raises an eyebrow, clearly not following your trail of logic, "Okay...clearly I'm missing something."

Before you even start to answer you've already tapped the area behind your ear and pulled up the older man's contact info, "I was only joking earlier when I said I didn't want you playing around with aliens without protection, but in all seriousness we have absolutely no clue what kind of STD's might be running around out here. We haven't even been on the planet for a month, there is absolutely no way that our immune systems are going to be able to handle any kind of disease or infection native to the planet, never mind anywhere else out here." You tell her, a sense of urgency permeating your voice.

A small amount of dawning horror spreads across Angelicia's face, "Fuck...I didn't even think about that." She mutters, seeming a little disappointed at the revelation, "Damn it, Doc...you really know how to ruin a good time, you know that?"

A sigh escapes your lips as you roll your eyes, "Yeah, tell me about it." You mutter, ignoring the smirk spreading across your friend's lips at your admission in favor of concentrating on the call you're trying to make. The call goes for several seconds unanswered before suddenly the ringing tone cuts off and you hear Tom's voice.

Before he even manages to say anything you forcefully interrupt him, "Don't do anything without some kind of protection, Tom, you don't know wh-"

It takes several moments of Tom speaking over you for you to realize that you are not, in fact, talking to your friend, "-eave a message and I'll probably get back to you later...unless you're Hans, in which case stop calling me, damn it."

A disbelieving sigh escapes you as you plant your face squarely in the center of your palm in frustration, "Damn it, Tom...I'm going to call you again, but if you get this please DO NOT do anything with anyone without some kind of protection. We don't know what kind of infections we could get yet."

Looking back up at Angelicia, you see that she's adopted a concerned look, "No answer, I take it?"

You shake your head, "He ignored my call...probably thinks I'm just trying to annoy him or something." You reply in frustration, before going back to trying to call him again, "Hopefully he actually answers this time. If not then I'm not sure what to do...we can't just let him do this without knowing what he's getting himself into."

The punk mechanic's concerned look turns decidedly unhappy at that idea, "I swear, if he breaks up the first date I've had in seven months then I hope that he's already had his fun, because this'll be the last time he gets to use it." She grumbles, crossing her arms in dissatisfaction, leading you to say a silent prayer that the old veteran actually picks up the call this time.

Just as you're starting to think that maybe you're going to have to perform surgery, in addition to finding and warning Tom away from doing anything stupid, the ringing tone clicks off once again and an annoyed sigh comes over the line, "I really hope you have a good reason for calling me, Jack."

Your shoulders slump in relief at the sound of the older man's voice, "Thank god. Look, Tom, I'm sorry to interrupt whatever you're doing, but you need to listen to me real quick." You say, abruptly, hoping to gain his full attention with your urgency.

Thankfully the tactic appears to have worked because while he does let out another sigh he's clearly paying attention, "Well, I'm listening, Jack. What do you need?" He replies, letting you take the opportunity to launch into the same explanation as you gave Angelicia just a few minutes earlier.

The look on Angelicia's face is priceless, there's no doubt that she's barely holding back laughter, judging by color of her face and the way she's biting her knuckle. To be honest, while you've done your absolute best to come across as a professional, the absolutely nonplussed reaction you've been receiving as you tell a man that must be at least twenty years your elder how to properly use protection has an amused smile tugging at your lips. "So, yeah...that's just about it. Like I said, just be careful and use protection and, uh...it'd probably be best if you avoided swallowing any...fluids you get in your mouth." You finally finish, holding back a laugh as your friend across the table looses control just long enough for a small giggle to slip out.

The other side of the line remains silent for a few moments before Tom lets out a reluctant sigh, "Alright...thanks for the warning, Jack." He mutters somewhat grudgingly, you notice, before continuing, "I'll keep it in mind. Now, are there any more medical revelations that you've had or can I go now?"

Try as you might, it's impossible to hold in the small chuckle that escapes you as you shake your head, "No, you're good, old man. I just had to warn you before you got too far."

"Like I said, thanks. Now, if you don't mind, I'll talk to you later." The older man replies in frustration, before killing the call, leaving you to kill your own side before turning your attention back to Angelicia.

"Well, how did he take the news?" She asks, her face red from holding in her laughter for so long.

You shrug, unable to hide your grin any longer, "Well, about as well as could be expected, probably. I know he's not happy with me right now, but I think it's probably preferable to the alternative.

The mechanic nods in agreement her eyes still shining in amusement, before they light up in excitement as one of the servers suddenly appear, bearing your drinks, "I apologize for taking so long with your drinks, your food should be out momentarily." She tells the two of you quickly, before quickly turning on her heel and making her way back towards the bar, drawing momentary stares from the both of you, leading you to arch a questioning eyebrow towards your friend.

A much deeper blush than her previous one colors her face as she glances away from you and grabs her drink from the table hurriedly, prompting you to take a small sip from your own as you look at her pointedly, your grin making it clear that you're not going to let up until she answers you. "What?! I can appreciate a nice ass without it meaning anything else!" She shoots at you.

"Uh-uh." You reply skeptically, though you decide not to push it for now, and let it drop as she takes another deep drink from her glass.

"So, now that the crisis is averted, what do you want to talk about? Besides alien butts." She asks, looking at you pointedly as she does so.

It's impossible not to laugh at her discomfort, though you do manage to tone it down to a teasing grin after a little bit. At any rate, she's clearly ready for a change of topic and, possibly inadvisably leaving it up to you. Several topics occur to you, though you're not sure which you would rather choose.

Thinking it over, you decide to ask your friend about herself, realizing that despite becoming fairly good friends since the two of you have met, neither of you have really bothered to talk much about your lives before being abducted. "So, what was your life like back on Earth? You know, before all this craziness started." You ask after taking a long drink from your glass, drawing a somewhat confused look from your friend.

"What, like...all of it? What exactly do you want to know?"

Letting out a low hum, you think about it for a couple of seconds before finally deciding, "How about why you wanted to be a mechanic? That seems like an easy enough start." You say, smiling as she rolls her eyes at your choice.

Angelicia shrugs, "Honestly, there really wasn't much to it...I mean, like I said I done the whole Army thing, even went and got a commission, but after a couple of deployments I decided that I was done with it. Too many stupid rules...I liked the camaraderie and having something to do all the time, and being able to fly and work on the choppers was fun and all, but....well, there's just too much stupid bullshit, you know?" She replies, shrugging again before grinning, "I was only out a couple of months before I started in on my 'new look', really once I done that I probably couldn't have got back in even if I'd wanted to. Fine by me, I'd had plenty of it by then anyways, and from there I damn near fell into my job as a mechanic. Honestly I probably got pretty lucky there, I mean yeah I had plenty of college under my belt, even have a degree in mechanical engineering, but once I started in on the tattoos and piercings I might as well have thrown all that out the window."

You nod in understanding before giving in to curiosity, "Alright then, so why did you do it? Don't get me wrong, it suits you and all, but..."

am up for this idea

The mechanic smirks at your question before shaking her head, "Uh-uh, that's not the way this works, Doc. It's my turn now, so...well fair's fair, what made you want to be a doctor?"

You blink in surprise at her turning the table on you, though you recover quickly enough, a small laugh escaping you at her question. "I knew somebody would ask that eventually. Actually it usually happens a lot sooner." You grin, though rather reply directly to you she merely arches an amused eyebrow as she sits back in her seat and crosses her arms, waiting silently for you to continue. "Oh, that's cold...using my own trick against me like that?"

"I'm waiting, Doc." She replies teasingly, drumming her fingers against the tabletop as she does so.

Letting out a belabored sigh, you shake your head before leaning back in your own seat and taking another drink before grinning at her, "You're not going to believe me if I tell you."

The mechanic lets out a sigh of her own and shakes her head, "Try me."

You shrug in response, "Alright then. I didn't actually want to be a doctor when I started college, I just couldn't really think of a better idea than that, so I decided to just run with it. I don't think anybody really expected me to go all the way with it...I know I sure as hell didn't."

"Nuh-uh...you've got to be kidding me. How the hell did you get through all that school without really meaning to?" She asks, laughing disbelievingly.

"Hey, I had some direction issues when I was younger, but it worked out well enough. It turns out that I ended up having some pretty good aptitude when it came to emergency medicine and, aside from getting into a firefight or running into a fire, I can't really think of much else that would really match it as far as an adrenaline rush goes. So it turned out that I apparently make a pretty decent doctor, if I do say so myself. Who knew?" You shoot back, grinning over the top of your glass.

Angelicia laughs as she shakes her head at you, "Alright, well you are a great medic, I'll give you that, but come on, you can't expect me to believe that you just woke up one day and decided that you didn't have anything better to do than be a doctor. I mean, who does that?"

"Well...the fact that my parents were pushing for it since my freshman year in high school probably helped, but to be fair I really didn't have any better ideas, or else I probably would have done that instead." You admit, ignoring your friend's triumphant laugh in favor of taking another drink, though you notice belatedly that your glass is getting pretty close to being empty.

"Hah! I knew it! Not even you're that good, Jack." She taunts, before offering you a somewhat appeasing smile, "Nice try though, I'll admit you had me wondering for a minute."

You offer her your own grin as you nod, "Of course I did, that's the plan, you see." You tell her conspirative tone, drawing another short bout of laughter from her, before you straighten back up, "Alright, so I answered your question, now it's your turn again. What's the deal with the punk stuff?"

It takes your friend a few moments to compose herself, the alien alcohol clearly having a greater effect on both of you than it normally would...well either that or you're just vulnerable to it due to the complete lack of it for the last several months. Finally, though, she manages to get over her fit of giggles and grin back at you, "Well, mostly it's just because I really liked the style, and it seemed like a good idea at the time." She explains simply, though before she can elaborate much further the same server that got you your previous drinks reappears, holding both of your meals on a tray as well as a new drink for each of you.

"Here you two go, sorry for your wait, is there anything else I can get for you?" She asks politely, waiting for you both to shake your heads before dismissing herself.
[Sorry for the wait, internet cut out]
>>
Your friend looks hungrily at the plate in front of her, though she refrains from grabbing her fork before you do, "And well, aside from that I just kind of wanted to do something that I wanted to do for once, and I knew that for the first time in nine years, I could do whatever I wanted to and not have to answer to anybody for it. Granted, like I said before, it wasn't the greatest career move, but it worked out well enough. After all, who's going to care what kind of style I have out here? Most people other than the ones we've met probably don't even know what a human looks like, never mind what kind of style is professionally acceptable for us." She explains, before pausing to consider her next question for you, though before she ever gets it out a loud grumble comes from her stomach, leading her to blush self-consciously, "Ah...sorry 'bout that." She mutters, letting out a somewhat nervous laugh.

Rolling your eyes you wave her off, "You're fine, Angel, it's getting pretty close to ten and we still haven't had anything to eat. How about we concentrate on that for a little bit, we've got plenty of time to talk." You reply, drawing a grateful smile from the mechanic.

"That sounds good to me." She replies shortly, before turning her attention to her meal. After the first few bites she manages to slow down enough to start up your conversation again, "Alright, so I've been wondering ever since the whole thing on the Deucalion, how exactly did you learn to shoot so well?"

Looking up from your meal, you take a few more seconds to swallow before replying, "Well, my Dad came from Texas..."

Before you can get any further than that Angelicia interrupts you, "Okay, mystery solved, I get another question." She shoots back with a disarming grin, "How about where your Mom thinks you got your 'roguish charm' as you put it?"
[4/5]
>>
>>34154404
A confident grin spreads across your face at the question shortly before you launch into your explanation, pausing every now and then to eat your dinner. The rest of your conversation continues similarly, launching questions back and forth between each other, and by the time both of you have finished your meals it's nearing ten-thirty and you've both had your fair share of alcohol.

As Angelicia finishes telling the story about her first time flying a black hawk, you lean back in your seat and offer her smile...to be honest you could probably stay here for a few more hours talking with her. The night has been amusing, at the very least, though, while it may just be the alcohol talking, you'd like to think that it's been a little more than that. Still, it is getting late, and it probably wouldn't hurt at all to start heading back to the hotel, and judging by the lull in your conversation, it seems like your friend probably wouldn't be opposed to heading out either.

So, what do you want to do?
>Stay here and talk with Angelicia for a while longer, no need to break up a good time for petty things like 'sleep' right?

Sitting just a little further back in your seat, you let out a long sigh before smiling across the table at Angelicia, "Well, I don't know about you, Angel, but I had a lot of fun tonight. It definitely beats sitting back in the hotel room reading medical texts, at any rate." You tell her, grinning just a littler more as she rolls her eyes at that.

"Gee, it's great to know that I'm at least more fun than reading textbooks. Obviously my company is absolutely riveting." The mechanic shoots back at you, a teasing smile of her own on her face, "Well...for the record, I had fun too. Not sure I could ever compare it to reading TM manuals on black hawks, but maybe next time."

You chuckle at the barb, but don't bother to acknowledge it beyond that, deciding instead to stand up and stretch, wobbling just a little bit as you do so, "Either way, I'm glad you had fun, I think I'm gonna head back towards the hotel now though." You say while pushing in your chair, "Granted, I'm not really all that tired, but it's probably best if I don't push it, what with the meeting and all tomorrow."

Angelicia nods in understanding, pushing herself away from the table as well, though you notice that she manages to display just a little more mastery of her balance than you do as she does so. "Yeah, you're probably right. Still, we should be alright, after all he said his rep wasn't going to get there until sometime in the afternoon, we've got plenty of time to sober up."

You nod in agreement with her before starting to dig into your back pocket for your wallet, only to have your server shake her head quickly as she suddenly appears by your side, "Your bill is already paid for, Mister Yarrick." She tells you rapidly, even as she starts grabbing up your empty plates and glasses.

Blinking in a small amount of confusion you nod, "Well, yeah, but what about the ti-"

Before you can even finish your question she shakes her head again, "That's paid for as well, Mister Yarrick, quite generously in fact. Thank you for coming, and please come again." She tells you curtly.

Both you and Angelicia watch as the server disappears into the crowd, before you shrug, "Well, I guess that's that, then." You mutter before turning to your friend, you ready to get out of here?

The mechanic nods in response, gently looping her arm around yours, surprising you just a little, before leading you towards the exit. As the two of you come out onto the busy street you quickly realize that, while she may have had an ulterior motive as well, the link between you is quite helpful as the two of you stumble a couple of times on your way to the landing pad.

Finally the two of you manage to make your way to an unoccupied air-taxi, both of you unable to resist laughter as you pile into the car in a tangled mess of limbs before drunkenly punching in the address to your hotel. As soon as you finish telling the car where to go you let your head fall back against the seat until another small giggle from your friend leaning up against you draws your attention, "What's so funny?"

A mischievous look shines in Angelicia's eyes as she grins up at you from your shoulder. "Nothing really, I'm just thinking about what the others would say if they saw us like this." She whispers to you, despite the fact that the two of you are completely alone in the car.

You crane your neck to look down at her as you consider the thought yourself, feeling her uneven hair rub against your cheek as you do so, it doesn't take long for you to understand exactly why she finds it so amusing. "Abi would probably try to kill you if she saw us." You mutter with a grin.

The punk mechanic lets out a short snort, "Please, I like Abi, but she doesn't have the balls, besides even if she did, she'd be trying to kill you too. After all, you're the one she's after, not me." She shoots back, returning your grin as she does so, "I think you could probably take her though...if she tied a hand behind her back."

You eye your friend skeptically at her taunt before blowing out a short breath, "Yeah right, are you sure you aren't thinking of Freida? Or maybe yourself? Tell me, Angel, are you secretly plotting to kill me with one hand behind your back?" You ask, feigning a deep suspicion as you look down at her.

"Who, me?" She asks innocently as she shifts her body to press her front against your own chest, effectively distracting you as you feel her lean in towards your ear, "Hun, if I wanted to kill you it'd be as easy as this." She purrs into your ear, making your heart race as you desperately try to formulate a response, luckily for you, though your friend continues on, "Of course, then I'd have to find a new medic, and I'm pretty sure that Lizzie would be the one to kill me if she ever found out about that." She finishes, leaving a ghost-like trail of breath over your skin as she pulls back to offer you a taunting grin.

You take a shuddering breath as your hands find their way of their own accord to her hips, though you shoot the most confident grin you can back at her in response before shaking your head, "Nah, she'd just get Tobias to do it for her, he's the one with the scarf, remember?"

The mechanic chuckles at your response, though she nods, "That's true..." She mutters, before her eyes suddenly light up in excitement, as if she'd remembered something, "You know, you never did tell me how you managed to get scarf you're so proud of."

>>34155674
Your grip on her tightens a little as your smile turns into a full-blown smirk, "You're right, I didn't, did I?" You reply, as if suddenly remembering it yourself, drawing a small pout from Angelicia in response, though before she can push the subject the taxi comes to a sudden halt on the hotel's landing pad, jostling the both of you somewhat and tearing you completely from whatever moment you may have been having. "Well, looks like this is our stop." You say, grinning tauntingly at her as the doors on either side of the car lift up to allow you to exit.

The punkish mechanic lets out a deep sigh of disappointment at your statement before following in scooting out of the air-car, "Aww, but I was just about to steal all of your secrets." She mutters petulantly, leading you to roll your eyes as you wrap an arm around her, much like she did to you before you left the strip club.

"Come on, Angel, let's get you back up to your room, maybe you can steal the epic tale of Doc Yarrick's scarf some other time." You tell her mockingly, before stepping off the pad and starting on your way through the hotel.

Thankfully neither of your hotel rooms are on particularly high floors, and you manage to reach Angelicia's within just a few minutes of stepping into the building. As the two of you stand outside of her room, your friend's hands playing nervously with her keycard, you can't help but feel just a little nervous yourself, though you tell yourself that there's absolutely no reason for it.

Despite your denials, the tension between the two of you is thick enough to cut with a knife, and as you lean towards her, the kiss that you had originally intended to be short turns significantly more wild, before both of you finally pull away, breathing heavily. "That, uh...well, that was good." You mutter, somewhat stupidly, though from the satisfied smirk on your friend's face it appears that she doesn't exactly mind.

"It was." She replies shortly, her smirk slowly turning more nervous again as she notices you starting to pull away to get ready to leave. "You know..." She mutters, her bottom lip catching between her teeth as she takes a somewhat shaky breath, "You, uh....don't REALLY have to leave if you don't want to." She tells you, an excited and nervous blush crossing her face, as well as yours.

You feel your heartbeat, which you had just finally managed to steady after your kiss, soar once again at her suggestion. It's obvious what she's saying, and you are more than just a little tempted by her offer. That said, if you're not sure that you want to do this, then it may be best to politely decline, after all both of you have had several drinks and you do have a business meeting tomorrow, you're sure she would understand. Regardless if you do choose to do this, then you're pretty sure that no matter what kind of relationship you end up having with your friend, it's not ever going to be quite the same as it was before...though given the evening the two of you just shared, that ship may have already sailed.

So, what do you want to do?

Your heart absolutely races as you lean in closer to her, bringing your lips up to her ear, "Well...what exactly did you have in mind, Angel?" You breath into her ear, practically feeling the shiver travel through her body as you do so, though rather than immediately answer your question, she grabs your shoulders in a tight grip and pulls your face back to hers, crashing your lips together once again in yet another passionate kiss, before pulling away from you again, "How about I show you?" She replies breathlessly, excitement burning clearly in her eyes as she pulls you into her room and lets the door slam shut behind the two of you.

As the two of you fall into a passionate bliss, you decide that while you weren't entirely sure about how things were going to go when you got to the strip club tonight, it definitely turned into one hell of a night to remember.

Thanks for running hawktail~

Alrighty, I'll stick around for a few questions, if there are any, but first I feel that I should probably clarify something.

You are not chained down to Angelicia. Your relationship has changed significantly, and you're entirely capable of developing it further or letting it degrade, if you so choose, but she's not the only one that's interested in you, and you don't have to be interested in her exclusively if you don't want to be, though if you don't tread carefully there then you can get into some pretty sketchy situations regarding your relationships which probably isn't a particularly great idea when you're relying on some of those people to watch your back in a firefight.

Now, that said, I hope I might have cleared up any doubts, and if there are those of you that are no longer interested in following the quest, I am disappointed but I understand entirely. Alrighty, now to whatever questions you may have of me, assuming they're answered before I drift off into dreamland.

>>34156788
It is exceedingly unlikely, to the point of being almost impossible.
No, probably not.
>>
I'm probably going to go to bed now, but I would like to say that while I did enjoy writing the quest, it took a left turn in the strip club when I expected it to take a right, and then it floored the gas and just kept on going. There were a couple of semi-important scenes that didn't happen, but that's alright because they don't necessarily need to happen in the club and, in fact, may even work out better outside of it, seeing as how time should allow the news of your employment to travel a little further.

Feel free to leave more questions if you want, I doubt that the thread will still be alive by the time I wake up, but even if it's not I'll do my best to answer them either through twitter or in the next thread. Also, I'm going to try and run a thread later tonight, but I won't promise that, as I've got stuff to do...if it doesn't happen then this may very well be the last thread for a little while, simply because I'm going to be busy moving to a new apartment so I can get back into school, and that apartment doesn't currently have internet. Hopefully that will be rectified by the end of the month.
