Welcome, this is a misson thread for the PACYOA:Teamwork Edition series.

“Welcome to the Siberian wilderness, ladies and gentlemen. We got lucky, the snow ended about four hours ago around here, so we’ve got a clear path… not that it would really stop our suits, environmental controls and all, but it’s nice.”

You all were dropped off a few miles out and had to hike to your ‘starting’ positions. Normally this would be a fairly brutal request, but again, power armor. Gotta love it.

“Alright… get to your starting positions and get ready. Monotreeme’s idea was a bit ridiculous for command, but it was granted anyway, they rather spend the fuel and scrap from rockets instead of have more dead pilots here, our distractions will be going in about 30 minutes from now…

…Oh, and, don’t mind the tracks, yes I know they’re everywhere and they look a lot like suits. The drones are on our side…”

“You can thank me for preparing you guys some fun stuff.” Red Queen chimed in. “The delay between stuff is terrible from having to piggy back along to get reception, but it’s enough for me to get access to the base’s camera feeds and all. You’ve got those fortresses, and it seems like theres some smaller guards both patrolling the base, and also standing outside…” she remarked.

While you’re a fair distance away, you can tell: Just like the Australian base, it’s basically walled off with chain link fences. The only real cover around here are those buildings… three giant warehouses and a few smaller installations. The warehouses wasn’t exactly examinable, nor the inside of the bases. Also, those new yellow blips seem to be medium sized suits, or heavies. She didn't seem to say.

“Everyone get ready at your spots and just sit tight till those missiles and stuff get here, then we zerg rush the hell out of them! Or, something along those lines.” she remarked to the team. “Your objectives are to take out those anti-air batteries, find my master, and in general eliminate threats around here I guess.” Red Queen finished towards the team.

>Pick a numbered starting location to advance in when you sign in.
>All the starting spots are somewhat concealed by the forests, but either way the enemy suits seem to both be on alert, but not firing till you go into the open.

"Swear to god stating the mission objectives was my job..." Zipline remarked rather dully. "Anyway, I didn't even bother installing the hotkeys to you all today. Where you're going, you probably won't need it." she simply mused.

>Take 10 is not in effect for this mission.
Basic actions (moving, communicating, observation) will all be success only, so basic actions will happen successfully almost always. There will be three major categories for non-basic actions, DEXY, COMBAT, and TECH. You can only perform ONE TYPE OF ADVANCED ACTION per turn. Rolling DEXY for dodge is NOT an 'advanced action' cost or use unless it is stated otherwise.

Basic actions include just moving around not caring about stealth, releasing out drones for activation, activating camouflage(not the stealth roll), and reloading(Hah, who does that anymore...)

DEXY refers to actions such as melee or dodge rolls, and other checks towards maneuverability, agility, and so on. DEXY uses a 'closest to 1' roll on a D100.

COMBAT refers to the act of shooting ranged attacks (NOT melee attacks), plain and simple. COMBAT uses a 'closest to 100' roll on a D100.

TECH refers to anything else really, mostly it's using or fixing your suit's systems. Tech uses a 'closest to 50' roll on a D100.

>Mission will begin in about 10-15 minutes.

Silver stretches as he prepares himself. Calibrating his blade, he opens a comm link to base, saying "Command, will be deploying behind enemy lines. And no... I wont go offgrid this time I promise." "Alright it's time... Queen, you're up."

"FINALLY! Zerg rush is go!" And with that remark, everywhere behind you all there seemed to be a huge... clattering. A few moments later, a huge swarm of drones from pretty much every side started charging through the forest, armed with either nothing but claws, basic guns, or some sort of electric arc weapon.
As they got to the clearing, a rather distinct sound of a lot of gunfire, many machine guns and a few explosive weapons started ringing out, the drones seeming to return fire as they headed the charge and took the brunt of the attack for the team.

There also was a rather distinct sound of whirring metal, before some shots rang out from the outer Fortresses, particle beams blasting the missile reinforcements out of the sky... before the middle fortress shot out one gigantic shot, giving off a sort of electrical, and explosive sound and look to the blast, visible to all teams, and damn it looks like that would hurt.

"That's our cue, get in there before that middle fortress reloads, I don't think ANYONE wants to try their luck against something like that, not to mention those drones probably won't last long on their own either" she called to the team. "...And try not to wake up whatever might be inside of those warehouses, we learned that was a bad idea after minesweeper..."

Nearest targets? You flat out obliterate a straight line through the drone forces, the enemies, and taking out both the bottom left and top-middle fortress units in ONE SINGLE SHOT...

>>34185388
One of the scout drones almost immediately gets shot down by some stray bulletfire, but the other comes online and is low enough of a threat for them to not seem to care. It gets a decent view inside the base, there seems to be a handful of mediums heading towards the outside to help fighting, and a few lights going along to back them up too. The big hulking fortress with the super-gun however, seems about halfway done reloading. The drone's eyes then zoom in way too close, and on some snow, damn hawkeye. [Tech fail, Tech success, Tech fail]
[Tech Success x2] Your hawkeye and radar come online, most the info you can tell with them are already known unfortunatly. Your radar seems to be fully unable to discern anything in the buildings though.

>>34185496
Your shots ring towards the leftmost fortress, almost all of them hitting their mark. While it's still active, you can tell, you certainly did deal some damage there.

Meanwhile, the remaining Fortresses aren't none to happy at this attack. If any of them had a clear line of fire towards White, they'd probably take it, but since they don't they open fire on the rest of the team (except Viper who was already marked by one.)

Your systems give a little "Ding!" As they are now operational again. If you wait another turn to charge, it'll probably save you from having to burn more day's worth in power. On the other hand, you could probably fire now, the left-most fortress is in a clear line of fire without friendly suits (plenty of drones) in the path if you did that.

>>34185827
You duck and weave evasively... and not evasively enough, taking a direct hit from the particle beam. The damage is... decently heavy, but your suit shakes it off easy enough, on your HUD you see a little alert saying how suit control weapons are dead, a medium tech could fix that but right now it might be better to take some shots at the enemy.

>>34185833
>You fell over because you were that clumsy, dem 100's man.
You barely manage to dodge most the laser, the blast scraping against your shield and slightly singing your suit, but past some more or less superficial damage you're fine. For the record, sheilds don't need a dex roll.

>>34185848
Stark's fire ends up blazing about, clearing out the right side's set of suits fairly easy enough, and only a few of your allied drones were burnt in the crossfire too. This kind of pisses off the fortress that blasted at your team, as it aims to you and seems to be preparing another shot.

>>34185866
>Engi is Tech + Combat, so no, you have nothign for dex.
The shot blasts right onto Tim's suit. It deals some damage, leaving a hole open to the carrier storage, but it isn't enough to stop your suit. Editi is right, you're in back so your actual suit can take the brunt of the hit anyway.

>Ammo's a bit ambiguous, though just keep in mind that if you fire those grenades off too often(read: Probably every turn, even slower than that) you'll run into an instance where you'll find you have no ammo.
You dodge the particle blast with ease, before shooting a suit control, off, and then a few metalstorm shots. The first one ends up blasting your suit control in mid air, wreaking it, but it lands some rather solid hits on the fortress, specifically blasting off a particle cannon from it's system, as it returns fire with some lighter machine gun fire and aims the particle cannon at your suit. The small arms fire once again just plinks off your armor, and it still seems to be recharging from the first shot.

>>34185921
You don't exactly sneak that stealthfully honestly, but everything seems too pre-occupied to really care, just stay clear of the drones and small units and you probably won't get hit by crossfire.

>>34185997
The scavenger drone climbs out of that little hole, and gets to work patching it up. There's not a whole lot it can do without scrap, but at the least it'll keep any grenades or the like from flying into the storage and dealing damage from the inside. Meanwhile, the heavy drones end up missing their marks, and the mediums are taking fire but still advance up to the heavy fortress. It's close to done reloading... and aims in the direction of Dorf's suit. Fuck.

>>34185953
Your suit, like most the others, takes a direct hit, though it still is kicking your machine gun seems to have ended up half-fried by this shot, also needing a medium tech roll to fix. While damaged, your suit still seems fully functional past that.

[Miss, Miss, Miss, Hit, Near Crit Miss, Hit, Miss, Where the fuck was this aimed at, miss hit.]
...You might want to recalibrate your targeting systems, as most of those rail rifles go wide. The flames burn up the nearby enemies, you nearly take off Calshot's head with one shot accidentally but it doesn't, the fortress Monotreeme has been opening fire on takes a missile or seven and the hulking fortress has been hit. And everyone else gets to see a HUGE storm of bullets and missiles fly practically everywhere, the pulse rifle just blasting wildly into the air by the looks of things.

>>34186150
The arrow plinks through and scorches the fortress's hide, as it turns it's gun to Silver Knight immidiately and takes it's shot. [Medium Dex to dodge]

>>34186252

Right now that I don't have a gaping hole in my suit I send the scav unit to gather scrap for repairs, then send the second one out to gather scrap for drone creation or repairs. Those mediums have to be close to combat zone so the heaves will fire on those. the scout should be close so it will camo and try to infiltrate a building to find the vip (the closest building to 3). I don't know if the mediums are in melee range but I know if that weapon goes off it'll be bad news so the one with a ion cannon fires at the t4. I'm also going to send out one light drone to help with the mediums

So thats two techs, two combats, a tech, one combat, and a melee if the medium is in range. The light has two weapons so another two combat rolls, and because I have so much power, evasion maneuvers to avoid damage.

Tommy: "Boys that big one is ready to fire..."
Editi: "Damage if that weapon fires will be catastrophic, advise immediate fire support!"

The quite pissed Medusa ends up firing off weapons, a bit wildly but blasting away at the fortresses, most of the shots failing to hit but a few hits plink off and deal damage. The grenade is more effective, blasting on the suit...

>>34186622
...To which Stark then covers it in fire. It doesn't seem to be stopping, but it fires off... blindly, the particle cannon missing horribly. As it turns out, explosions and fire are good at blocking line of sight, as well as any heat-based lock ons.

>>34186610
Your hawkeye seems to go dead, you're left blind... but on the bright side, you access the damaged enemy suit... there's not a whole lot on here, unfortunately. Your suit quickly informs you how your spyware is about to transfer a virus program over to your suit, before it automatically disconnects you. It may be best to try getting this information inside one of the buildings, probably not a warehouse but who knows.

>>34186641
Your suit doesn't succeed the dodge, and that grenade ends up utterly obliterated by that shot... the results aren't pretty. Your suit quickly displays you took some MASSIVE damage from the hit, before going offline from EMP. An easy tech check can get basic systems back online, but it'll take a medium success or more to get the suit moving again.

>>34186638
...Fortunatly, it doesn't have time to do much more. The white's cannons blast off on this super-fortress, and on top of those rockets from before... well, you can't exactly SEE it due to how bright that laser is, but you certainly hear the crushing and bending and some melting of metal, before he is done... the super fortress isn't exactly 'obliterated', but it sure as hell is NOT working anymore. None of the shit it had is salvagable either...

OOC: I thought the Middle fortress was still up. Ingore some of my calls then.

I'm sending my scav drones to collect scrap and preform repairs (while Editi gives stealthed orders to collect weapons and store them). Also sending the mediums to chase after the fleeing fortress. Also a tech roll for both sonar and radar to detect.

Tommy:"I don't know about you but I'm as friendly as can be."
Editi:" Give me a moment and I'll scan for clearance."

That poor final fortress trying to desperately fly away has been shot down. There aren't any other small/mediums left, the drones are just kind of wandering inside the base now that they've completed their job.

Grumbling at the officious tone, Nameless growls and slams a boot into one of the consoles, Deathfire snarling in response. While wanton, uncontrolled destruction is all well and good, he was beginning to be slightly irked by the recent inaccuracy of the guns, especially his prized rail rifles.

As the hulking armor moves into the warehouse, Nameless busies himself with unvestigating his targeting systems, keeping an ear out for further explanations from the VIP.

You see... what pretty much looks to be mostly a scrap-metal figure, and a man in... a rather odd suit, actually. It's rather thin, yet it's got rather powerful sorts of jets by the looks of it. Strange. The night vision started flaring up slowly, seems he was turning on the lights and they warm up slow. Once everyone was in (and if they didn't, I'll probably need a post specifically saying where outside, otherwise I assume you all get in) he gave a bit of a bow atop of the suit, one light flickering on quickly and acting more or less as a spotlight. "Welcome, armor corps or otherwise affiliated suits... I must first apologize for the need to save me and rid the tumblr suits from here... and for the other troubles I've caused you all." he said.

...Ivan, and hell, anyone else who was from falling down? You recognize that's the same model of suit that the Stealth-team was seen in when they had to re-fit suits, albit with a bit more gear and tech by the looks of it. Seems he's been quite a few places.

I did not expect that they might actually try to find the information the 'normal' way, and take over out computers in the area for that data." he simply stated.

"Uh... master? Should I be worried about those energy signatures starting up in warehouses A and C?" Red queen worriedly asked.

"...To put it simply, while my original goal was simply research and reverse engineering of the Vannai's goals, before the truth was more widespread I had development done towards weapons of our own using their technology." he said with a sigh. "...That gun that central unit in this base was using was only the tip of the iceburg for this." he stated, the lights now brightening up to show what he's atop of... A crudely seeming to be put together metal 'engine' like thing of sorts. Wires and tubes seemed to link off from a few segments, and there was clearly a door into the suit, or out of perhaps.

"Mmmmmaster, uh, they might be moving in about a minute or four..."

"...If you're wondering what those are, I'll say it now. They're beyond your 'fortress' classification of suits, though technically one of them isn't a singular suit. At this facility, it was also developing a weapon of it's own, but in the end it was deemed too dangerous to perhaps field lest the enemy obtained it, as well as the fact that you lot took care of the unit's intended targets in Vancouver, so the blueprints and design was finished though. And that's what is in Warehouse A." he stated simply. "In warehouse C... is a modified monstrosity that some idiot researcher thought would be a good idea to make, no longer does it use corpses of tormented and brainwashed people thankfully, but it is still mostly just as effective."

"...And as for why they have these suits in production here, it's because they've infected our computers and systems here. I've made sure that none of this would get out, and I've confirmed for myself none of these systems have nanites, but I doubt that it will be an isolated event if they escape. And even if not, god help stopping them without a super weapon of our own... which is why I made this." he said, sitting and slapping on the scrap-object below.

>>

At the mention of Gattai Stark started to get a little restless. He knew there was a reason he was saving it.
>>
>>34187996
"Well, this suit here... if you can call it one, is a hub connector of sorts. There are... admitably many, many flaws to this suit, although it's intentional, all of these designs I added intentional flaws towards so the Vannai would not have a perfect copy." he remarked. "Although, this one mostly is because it was human built and made... simply put, it will allow for both greater numbers to combine and utilize their weaponry... and for you fortress-classes to add yourselves in to the machinery." he added finally.

"Master! They're moving!" "As stated, wait and stall, they need time to set up!"

Command had taken away the black-hole inducing WMGs. And for good reason, two of the WMGs seem to malfunction a bit and sputter, blowing out over half of his guns, the remaining three fire out and hit the giant monstrosity's beams with it's own, negating the attack on the team narrowly before the leg portion of the gattai dodged.

Mono's quick attempts to dodge works out for the team, narrowly evading the cannon's blast, as they attempt to hack into the other system. At first, it seemed like it wouldn't work, but after a bit they were in... this one seems pretty fucking alien in construction and typing, but a bit of code here and there, and it's eyes that started glowing a bit go dim again.

blasting away and doing all they can, the gattai is kept busy swatting at the lights and defending from attacks, too much so to properly ready itself...

>>34189551
Three of those guns come back online, all the guns about ready to fire, the last one just stubornly wanting to sleep, it's tired after shooting down three fortresses today.

Also, you don't get any work done towards powering up the suit much better, but now that you're there you can clearly watch the suit's power go down. It seems to drop every action you guys take, as well as just bleed it by existing. Perhaps one of the two can be mitagated, but that'd be taking a lot of your time (If you roll for 'improving' either, you can only do one tech roll).

>>34189643
You hack at the suit, disengaging one of the cannon hand's locks as it flys wild, and you dodge the WMG, both striking the mecha-gattai monster and it gives a scream that those from minesweeper will recognize. The suit still has a lock, and you try to dodge...

Welp, that was bad. You dodged the WMG fire from it's chest, and that unlocked cannon, but that dodge got you right into the line of fire for it's other cannon with no escape, blasting at the suit.

Limb pieces: FUCK that hurt, your suits are giving you warnings left and right, if it wasn't for being all combined and mitigating damage and the like, that might've been enough to destroy you completely even.

Internal suits: While you didn't take much of a hit... christ, that was bad. Fyhlen can tell you just how bad: You guys just lost 5 days of power in that one hit alone. Down to 34, no 33.
>>34189652

Well, getting shot by a T4 experimental gun sucks. And hurts... so as you're pissed off, you end up firing back at the damn thing, specifically five blasts from the rail rifle raining down and severing off the entire arm that hit you guys, and the suit itself does not look like it's feeling that good from that hit.

>>34189774
Dorf's suit must not've been fully fixed, as the remaining guns all shoot out... wildly. They end up raining in a cascade of beams, at best glancing the cannon suit.

>>34189809
No dice. It would be already hard to do one at a time, doing multiple is both impossible, plus there are quite a few things you don't even understand, formulas and the like translated by your AI but still... so mind bogglingly complex. Especially int he middle of the fight.

>>34189751
The symphony of missiles closes in and blasts at the suit over all, a cloud of explosions and smoke form around it. Normally that would give a suit cover and it'd be harder to hit... but it's such a big and apparently slow target, you're sure it'll be fine.

>>34190322
You end up righting a few things, specifically making the suits start doing the brunt-work towards linking up to the hub, and each other. The suit's not bleeding any power out anymore, but you're still losing power for every action.

>>34190316
Hellion takes control of the combination and swiftly maneuvers the surprise shot by the suit, which seems... kind of out of options now, as it stumbles somewhat back from it's own weapon's recoil, and... well no. Not helpless. It's charging the WMG up in it's chest again.

>This should not kill it, but speaking from a GM statndpoint you guys already are past any chance of this thing winning, you dodged it's last potentially fatal attack.
With a mighty swing, the team's gattai swings the Mecha-gattai down at it, it's tentacles severing mid swing as it crashes into the other super-fortress and effectively shatters and smashes itslef on it, the enemy super fortress being flung back in a wreakage of metal, it's WMG fireing off wildly into the sky and further obliterating the remains of the monstrosity....

...To this though, Silver's, along with some thers such as White and Calshot's suits, depower, as the suit gives a warning to the 'still active' suits that it is now out of power, and to disengage the gattai.

I can still run my drones right? right??? Still I'm alive. That's good. I'll put my suit in low power mode so at least I can run my drones. I won't gain any power, but at least I can keep working. Tommy will also pop out his avatar and walk up to the dr while extending his hand.

Tommy:"Hey doc. You're not a bad guy if you can let me live my life's dream of being in a giant mech. Thanks. If you ever stop buy the armor corps stoy by and I'll buy you a beer."
>>
>>34191292
>Except anyone with a capacitor. Even recharging at half speed, they make back more power than they use as long as it's daytime. We'll be in trouble when night falls, though.
>>

"Maybe Dr.Frankentumblr here just picked up corpses and wreckages around battlefields"
>>
>>34191365
"Trust me to fight them? No, I'm leaving you all to do that. You can trust that I will try to do whatever I can to find and make you all what I can, instead, as well as the rest of humanity that may not have suits of their own." He said in a rather matter of fact way.

>>34191344
"Not enough to probably fulfil what your suits require. Why don't you just shut down for an hour or two, if even that, your suits recharge on their own you know." he simply replied.

>>34191382
"Here? No, they didn't dare something like that. My Australian branch however, was more than willing to attempt such actions, going so far as raiding Tumblr Armor suits themselves... admitably, it's where quite a lot of my American sect's suits came from, and #002 herself as well." he added.

>>34191432
"That's actually why I headed here originally... By then they were already fallen and starting to make my creations. So I went and built you all this one before they finished, and gambled that you would arrive in time."

>>34191463
"I'll keep that in mind."

Redneck wanders off, far more interested in the Siberian Scenery and the aftermath of their titanic struggle, then the smart take coming out of the other's pie holes.

Kinda pretty actually, though he would also love Appalachia.

"So Stark...now what?"
>>
>>34191514
Teeth clamped together from the cold, Private could only nod. He then stumbled back to Shell and climbed back inside, ready to move to an extraction zone and find relief from the day's events.

"Right... at any rate, all threats there seem neutralized. Don't stay out too late, we never did get clearance to go in from the Russian government, I'm sure they won't find us or really mind... but uh, just a heads up." Zipline said with a sigh.

>MISSION COMPLETE! Continue/ask questions to Veyser as you see fit.

ROLL THE CREDITS!!!

Now the real question remains, the all important question... WHAT LOOT DO WE GET?

Was I able to grab something, or even better get my own weapon(a t4 Tesla beam maybe)?
>>
>>34191668
"Ah mission complete."
"Now what?"
>>
>>34191668
"Hey, can I have Zipline sticker to put on my shield?"
>>
>>34191621
"Recover."
Even a robot dragon needs a break after that.

"Glad to hear it. I'll look forward to receiving the files from you, unless they're on the computers here and they're still intact. For now though," I turn to survey the wreckage of the colossal super-gattai and defeated Tumblr Armor units. "It's time to find intact power core components for study and analysis."

>Unsure if this requires a roll, but if it does, here it is. ±5 Tech.
>I plan on gathering only non-damaged cores or components thereof, carefully deconstructing anything found at a later date. Exchanging this data with Dr. Veyser will hopefully lead to a better understanding of the fundamental principles behind power retention, discharge, and recharge. Capacitors in particular or of most interest.

15 points.

"...Why do you want a sticker of me?" Zipline questioned.

>>34191966
You messily pull some out something, before you quickly pull your suit back. AO-5 nanites leak out a bit. Right... Best to leave t as is.
>>
>>34191966
>Curse my mediocre rolls.
>>
>>34192118
"Who doesn't want a sticker of you, Zippy."
>>
>>34192118
"Hey maybe I could get one of those stickers as well?" Another laugh, although by this time it was clear the exhaustion had set in.
>>
>>34192118
"W-well, because... I need something that reminds me of... of orders. yeah, that. obeying orders"
>>
>>34192118

Tommy:"Now I want one!."
Editi:"Are you saying I'm not enough?"
>>
>>34192261

Oh man I got enough points to get memory palace with super light drones.

I can't wait until I'm in a real mission so I can actually get a real gun.

"...Swear to god..." Zipline simply muttered on her end of the comms... someone at Armor Corps probably will do that for you though, now that you think of it.

You put together... a cheaply made and poorly crafted metal-scrap sculpture.

"Guys, perhaps we should leave recovery operations to the team dedicated to it? Like Zipline said, we don't have clearance from the Russians to be here.

After directing my scavenger to reclaim my shot down scout drones and return, I signal to the dropship, "Ready to extract when you are, Zipline."
>>
>>34192835
You rip out a lot of computers and stuff... most of it is probably not actually going to work.

It really would be a good idea to leave it to the clean up crews to do this job you guys.

>>34192951
"I know I know. Dropships are on their way..."
>Read: They'll show up when the thread sages.

Yah that's best. I'll take my drones and scavs and what scrap they have and leave.

OOC: Fun game. I'll have to make sure I play again.

"Right. we're also running low on juice... wonder if news of this little show will ever go past government. well what's left of it. probably they don't want to make public the fact they had fucking Omega and Ultima Weapon hiding in their backyard"
