So you sit down next to the wall, waiting for her to join you. It takes just a second, then your big blue haired cuddle bug is against you, this time curled up. You can’t see her face, it’s pointed at the ground, but as your arms wrap around her, you feel her tremble.

You walk back slowly, careful not to disturb her. You get some odd looks, but you ignore them, you don’t care. Making it back to the house, you think she’s still asleep so you head up back to her room. It also moon-lights as yours when you aren’t with someone else, so you know your way around despite the darkness which comes in handy since you can’t turn on the lights.

Setting her down softly, you lean in and kiss her forehead.

“I know it’s late,” you say quietly to the softly snoring girl, “But I’m glad that I met you on your birthday Tatsuko, I hope it was a good one.”

As you move to take a step away, you feel her hand reach out and grip your arm softly.

Looking down, you see a smile on her, one that you’re much more used to seeing than whatever it was that came before.

“Thank you,” she whispers, “Dai-suki.”

“Dai-suki, Tatsuko,” you whisper back to her, leaning in to give her anouther kiss on the forehead, “Dai-suki.”
