You are otto schulte, a twelve year old girl on her way to destiny - you are a student of the scholia progenium on besvir, and a prospect to become one of the selected officials to one day lead the great imperial armies in battle, if you survive. Little is know of your past - you only know what your uncle(whom you've got no blood relation to) told you: They where charged with your care before you where old enough to crawl. For as long as you can remember you've lived amongst the stars onboard shiftships traveling the interstellar void of the immaterium.

You've arrived at the scholia progenium of which you where assigned, unfortunately so have Nikkobar the big oaf - a bully of whom you meet just before coming to the scholia, and his gang of misfits! Not all is bad, you've also meet the more friendly planetborn Angelina whom the planet mold seems to have left alright. There is also the "twins" to worry about, and how to survive the practicals, and as ever the ongoing mission to rid the world of your accursed first name "otto" - a administratum fuck up that left you with a boys name.

Your story is only just beginning.

Last week we meet a sister of battle, spoke to some new friends and located bolty: The Bringer of death again.

General Roll rules:

Lowest of first three rolls for things the character is skilled at doing.
Median of first three rolls for things the character is "capable" at.
Highest of first three rolls for things the character is utterly shit at.

Rolls are 1d100

You have to "beat" your stats, which stat depending on the task at hand(Pushing a stone - strength, while doing the split agility) these rolls carry modifiers with them - a simple task gains a + 50 while a hard task gets you a -50, if a bonus+your base stats ever exceed 100 you auto-win, you always have to roll in combat. Stats are modified by talents.

Cont post explained:If there is a post marked at the end with "cont" its because your QM is lazy, and can't type fast - or because he wants to give you the option to jump into the current events, or offer opinions, if none are offered he'll continue as normal

It had for all intents and purposes been a normal day. Which is to say, it was very much like yesterday - and no doubt would be very similar to the day that followed, there had been no great shift in the cosmic order of things: The universe spun its eternal dance upon the sky much like it had done for millena past - and would continue to do for minllenia to come. In this eternal vals of stars and void Besvir - a tiny rock covered in a thin layer of mold and decay traveled around its local star as it had done for since time immorial - and would continue to do long after the small creatures that crawled across its sufrace had left, for these tiny creatures however: Today was not an ordinary day, today was emperors day and that meant - for a particular girl just slowly waking up from the chimes of her alarm, everything was about to change.

You awoke about four minutes ago from the jarring sound of the alarm, Another day. The old room you´d grown accustomed to looked just like you left it before traveling the lands of dreams, exhacusted you´d left the Mechanicus shrine and spent the rest of the day in afternoon classes being taught basic feild packing - it amazed you how planetborns needed to be taught how to pack their bags, on starships efficent use of space was simply a fact of life. Yawning you stratch the nape of your neck, you´d slept in the old dirty long night-robes that your aunt made for you - it flowed down just bellow your knees leaving your feets exposed, the old brown slightly faded color reminded you off home more then anything else ever could.

Outside it was quiet - it took a moment for your sleep-addled mind to remember the date, it was the tenth again: Emperors day, you would be expected to visit church later today and pray, still - this meant you´d be left for untill the sun set to your own devices.
Today was suppose to be for quiet reflecting, but in the end it meant most of the schoolia would simply take the day off - and the servitors would be giving all the classrooms a proper scrubbing and maintaining.

Yawning again you look at the clock - seven hours to sundown and the masses starting, seven hours of otto-time.

You briefly concider remaining where you are, the soft sheets feel wounderus beneth you - and simply sinking into the bed to drift away seems like it would be the simplest thing in the world. You almost do however untill someone running down the corridor cuts you out of your cloud castle, grumbling something about sound-proofed blast doors you sit up again, the cover flowing around you and partially on the floor - as you stand up and correct the straps of your robe you run a hand through your messy hair - feeling the greese inside you release that cleaning on emperors day is probably a must. Trudding into the shower room from across you smile as you look at the personal cleaning unit asigned to you - a personal shower, before you´d never even concidered such a thing existed, on starships you showered in massive holding bays using the heated engine fluid - hundred at a time, you miss it slightly as you slip out of your clothes and into the already warm stream, there was a sense of community to it, but then again - you are without your aunt here, so that might be why.

Once you´ve dried off you head back out into the room - tossing your night robes over the un-made bed and turn to hunt for your clothes again, the heavy clothes fall around you again and after some tightening to get it right you feel the much welcome heat on your skin again after the cool trip from the shower, clothed once again you lean on the back of your heels while thinking of what do to - breakfast could wait for now you decided, a curious tought hits you however: Would the Tech Priest be expecting you to work on emperors day? It was after all a day of prayer - and he wanted you to help him maintaine the boltgun. You toss a stray taught into finding Angelina before shrugging it off and heading out into the courtyard - what little of it you could see.

Outside the sky had opened up its fury on the unsuspecting world. You ran towards the shrine.

As a sidenote: Due to REAL LIFE I´ll be running to about 04.00 GMT+1 tonight, as in 8 hours from now

The rain pelted you as you dashed through the courtyard - a few indistinct clouds in the distance behind the veil of the heavy rain the only suggestion others had braved the fury the Emperor had unleashed on besvir for his names day - perhaps a reminder of his power. Still, you thought while running - how did a planet keep all this water anyway? You knew planets where big, but this was ridiculous. The mad dash through the rain gets you to The Tower before long - the tall administratum building tower before you as you push the activation key of the door, the sound of heavy duty machinery roars to life as the doors wind open, cold and chilled you hurry inside - welcoming the smell of the air-scrubbers that maintained the mostly sealed environment inside. It trip to the inner sanctum - and indeed the workspace of your Tech Priest senior is quick - like usual you find him bent over some piece of heavy duty machinery displayed in front of him, combi-tool attending. He does not look up at you as he speaks.

"Your core temperature is lower then usual" - his metal voice carrying over the room despite the ever present sound of the cognitators. "Why are you here Schulte?" you smile slightly as he used your last name, despite it no doubt simply being protocol for him.

You fold your hands over your chest in the sign of the cog - the old practiced motion more familiar then the Aquila to anyone who´s lived on a starship, bowing your head in the same motion. The old Priests nods at you in acknowledgment of your greeting before his whirling optical implants refocus on the task in front of him, you tilt your head, inspecting the machine for a split second - it appears to be an arm of some sort - a large mechanical claw, three or four times the size of your own hand at its end, you suspect there once was more to it however then rests on the table. "I came to present myself for work, and to see what you where working on today" - The steady form of the Tech Adept continues to work over the large claw, and a moment drags by before his raspy voice calls over the room to you again. "You will not have to work today Schulte, I have no need for your services until tomorrow when I get a shipment of bolts that require sorting - we shall look over your gun then, as for my work. It is the same as always: Maintaining the Machine spirits." - his mono-tone voice makes it impossible to judge his emotions, but you would assume he´s not upset about your visit at least.

You observe the Tech-Priest for a moment more, lingering and drawing in the air of the shrine - the sounds, the taste of iron in the air. Shrugging you turn to leave again, running a hand over the dirty wall - you sort of wanted to just say hello to the Priest after all, he´s the closet thing you´ve got to a voidborn on this planet. Once the rain hits you outside again you begin to rush across the courtyard, your view disrubted only by the looming statue of The Emperor - you can only assume the statue is the same, in the murky haze of dawn and the rain its hard to see anything - the sounds of the world drowned in a rush of water - you almost miss when something large thunder past you - barely stepping out of line in time as the large vechicle thunders past - its lights off, from what you can make out it seems to be a transport of some sort - it reminds you of the "chimera" that took you to the practical in the woods.

Rushing the final way to the mess hall you stop outside - the "transport" looming nearby. What was it doing here anyway?

You shudder slightly in the rain as you feel curiosity bubbling up, just what where those tanks doing here? Casually - trying to look like you´ve got nothing to hide you "wander" over to the site of the tank - which is to say, you crotch down and make a mad dash for it, perhaps the rain giving you coverage is what ends up hiding you - or the fact nobody seemed to be interested in guarding the vehicles - for indeed, you spot two more after this one, large squat things with tracks instead of wheels - the primary one is for you of most interest (being that its the closet one, and the rain does start to get you rather chilled) its top seems to be covered in large crates held together by some wire - a net of some sort, planetborns have no automated things for transport? You guess it makes sense they don´t have a massive conveyer belt like starships, to much uneven ground. Regardless, you might as well see what they are guarding now that you are here you muse while sneaking closer. Stepping up on the ladder hanging from its side you accend towards the boxes secured tight - heavy laden metal ones by the looks of things, a massive icon of a skull with wings and two snakes coiling around a stick is embedded into the lid. Your reveries are cut short however by the sound of voices, you spot two figures approaching the tank, they don´t seem to have spotted you yet however you notice - the two of them still talking to each other... adults tend to yell at you when they spot you, your uncles words ringing in your head "Remember: Don´t be places you are not suppose to be, they are off-limit for a reason" feeling a bit guilty you cover the options.

You dash for cover, or well - rather you jump of the tank and run towards the door, slipping and sliding as much as running while covering the wet ground towards the door - the two guards notice you - you hear the rise of voices behind you and two low voices calling for you to stop - however, a saving grace appear in a large group of students heading towards the mess hall, you unite with them and before long the now welcome embrace of the crowd gets you pushing and shoving into the low building. A sign on the wall states that the breakfast consists of "Warmed Krim and grox rends" - what ever it is, you feel your belly rumbling. The rest of your trip inside is rather uneventful, if slightly annoying - you get at least two elbows in your side before you manage to aquire a seat - and taste some of the food. The salty tang helping to make up for the rude way you got in - outside the rain continues, but you can´t see the tanks. Wrong angle it would seem. Regardless you think back to the symbol while stuffing your face, where had you seen it before?

You stuff another piece of the sliced meat into your mouth, savoring the way the flavors blend into a mush across your tounge - the salt, the texture all mixes into a pleasant swirl that forces you to close your eyes for a moment and simply take it in - planet food never cease to amaze you, once the food have been dealt with however you decide to look into the crowd to see if you spot anyone you recognize - a few familiar faces graces the humble gathering, but nobody you´d know the name off, the mess hall is large however - and you expect there to be perhaps just shy of two hundred people in it, in this room of it anyway, so you could be missing something. You casually stand up from the table, and walk off - disposing your plate and joining in the quite small gathering of people in the narrow corridor heading out - happy to not have to dig your way through the bodies of your fellow students while leaving the mess hall you fish up the data slate, the machine spirit hums in your hand while you commit the design of the symbol to memory - your books gave you nothing either as you scanned them, you know someone that might know however - Angelina was a "lady" as it where and seemed to know a lot of things, braving the rainstorm again you try to think where she´d be until you remembered something she´d said the day before about visiting the "green house" - that tiny little house-of-glass between the primary and secondary building. Trying your best not to fall on your face while dashing across the wet ground you make your way towards the plant breeding grounds.

Sliding open the door inside - the sound of a thousand impacts filling the poorly-lit rather murky greenhouse giving off an strangely relaxing sound reminding you of gas-pipes expanding under heat or a air-scrubber that just been filled with a new filter. Inside you are greeting by rows and rows of plants in a myriad of containers - moving amongst them, slightly wet and muddy is Angelina, she looks up at you with a surprised look on her face "Oh, Schulte - I did not expect you to actually show up! You nod towards the plants "Whats a Ty'lands anyway?" Angelina practically begins to beam as she tells you to grab a coat and begin help her with re-potting them, all the while telling you about the interesting qualities about this one plant - or that one type of mold. You listen intently for awhile before the simple overload of data gets to much for you - the work however is rather easy - "Ty'lands" as it where are used in the making of potent posion - the seemingly harmless plant is lethal if ingested, turning your belly into mush and causing your muscles to lock in place. (You become slightly more causious with the plants after learning that fact) - still the two of you have a good time while repotting and before you know it an hour have passed and the last blue little plant is in a larger pot again. "How come you get to do this anyway Angelina?" you ask while taking the time to wash your hands in the nearby sink. "Oh, I told one of the sisters I knew a lot about plants and she got me a key telling me to help out - its nice." You nod in agreement, this kind of work suits her, she´s managed to pot at least the double amount of yourself.

"So.. Angelina - about those boxes" you state while sitting down - looking out into the rain past the translucent walls "Yeah, what about them Schulte?" "Want to try and hunt them down" you ask, turning with a impish smile to the taller girl, the look of surprise on her face evident "Oh come on, it will be fun!" "Otto, what if we get caught?" -"Come on now, its Emperors day and we´ve finely got a day off, lets do some exploring, I am just curious" - "That is what I am afraid of..." Angelina says while shaking her head - the two of you however soon gather your wits and return to the place you found the tanks, only to be disappointed over their disappearance "See? Not here anymore, lets go inside - rain is cold as the void!", you where just about to nod in agreement when you notice something on the ground - tucked into the wall of the mess hall - the sky now brighter, but still hid behind a heavy set of clouds (and rain) its easier to see, pressed up against the wall is a open box - one of the ones from the tanks.

Approaching with Angelina you look inside - layers of protecting foam-like blocks rests inside, you flip through them finding nothing until at the bottom, a vial stands out. You pick it up bemused.

"Schulte, put that back - what if someone see us!" Angelina hisses in protest.

The rest of the day seems to pass by rather quickly - to quickly if you´d have a say yourself, your free day is spent together with Angelina and her room mate playing a card game - you ended up winning a few times towards the end but you suspect that the other two let you win, you vowed silently while exiting her room to practice for it later. You soon however, find yourself heading towards the gathering hall in the primary house - through the rain and past the massive stairs in front of the building - through the corridors before finding yourself in the gilded hall once more - the large chandeliers and brass golden decorations much like you remember them - far above the roof depicting stories of ancient past. You take a seat next to Angelina before settling in to listen to the priest.

>We are now at a critical junction: Chapter 1 is about to be finished.
>Thank you all for sticking with me for twenty threads.

>What do we do now?

>A: Let Otto continue her scholia time. (XP reward: 800, talents can be picked) (We will return approximately 4 months later)
>B: Finish something during Emperors day before moving on (specify)

>C: Others

We can most likely convince the Tech priest to teach us more after the 4 months since we will have been "working" all that time.

Ranged:
1. Basic Throw Training 400XP: You´ve spent some time praticing the art of throwing, Otto now no longer have a penetly to use daggers/similar as a throw weapon and only have a -10 penelty to all throws of items rather then the usual -30

2. Basic Las Training 400XP: Otto have become familiar with las weapons of diffrent kinds she no longer treats las weapons as unfamiliar - (She no longer suffers a -20 penelty when weiling them in combat she may also reload any las based weapon without suffering a -50 penelty)

3. (Requires: Basic throw and/or Basic las) Dodge this! 400XP: While not good for your storage of Ammo, when faced with a fast moving target aiming might be detremental - Otto have learned the abillity to "spray and pray" to a masterfull degree, handling the recoil of the weapon, when using a ranged weapon Schulte can now spend a turn attempting a pinning action, forcing opponents into cover, without a penetly.

Commissariat Training:

1. Rudementary High Gothic 600 XP: Otto knows some simple phrases in high-gotic, she can introduce herself, and knows a few words here and there, she understands however, more then she can speak.

2. A voice that carries: Otto have learned ways to project her voice better and no longer suffers a penetly to talking/giving instructions in an area concidered "rowdy or loud"

3. Weapons of the emperor: Having spent time with the Mechanicus Otto have learned of the importance of maintining her kit and gear - Otto now knows how to perform basic rites of appesment to her gear and no longer suffers a penetly for prolonged usage of her weapons/gear without a Tech Adept. (Prolonged: 2+ weeks)

>I´d rather not shit up the board with a pointless thread
OI

You shut up with that nonsense, the board holds 150 threads at a time, and yours are far from pointless so no more of that talk.

Woops - all talents in Commissariat are at 600, sorry.

Close Combat Training:

1. Ambush 400XP: Otto have learned simple things about stealth and camoflauge during her training at the Scholia, how to strike best from cover and the dead of night.
When attacking an ususpected enemy Otto always crits - she also reduces moving silently from hard to capable.

2. Go for the eyes 400XP: Dirty, but efficent Otto is now capable of aiming for vital areas in close combat (not just stab to the head!)
Now more lethal and less of a clueless child flayling widly she adds +1 to any damage roll in melee and unlocks the abillity to trigger Crits.

3. Melee training 400XP: Otto now is capable of handling most melee weapons with a blade at their most basic she no longer treats bladed weapons as unfamiliar.

Total XP Pool: 900XP

Man, I am more tired then I first assumed - right, sorry about that crap write up. Tell me if anything is unclear.

Talents will be based upon votes over the next 25 minutes, talents will then be transfered to character sheet - which will be avaliable come next session (still trying to get graphics right)

so we're voting on which ones to pick now?

>2. Basic Las Training 400XP
I'll vote to save the rest of the XP so we can afford some commissariat training and another ranged/CQC talent next time we get XP
>>
Rolled 56 (1d100)

>>34543344
1. Ambush
2. Melee training.

800xp well spent. Our adventures around school are much safer, and we won't be helpless if caught off guard.
>>
>>34543297
>. Weapons of the emperor

Is a must when you consider that we work with the Tech priest on things.

Basic Las Training or Ambush is what I would pick next.
>>
>>34543519
I like this and I would say Las Training as it most likely leads to Bolter training.
>>
>>34543344
2. Basic Las Training
and
1. Ambush
>>
>>34543843
Okay.

I would actually be perfectly fine with this and we can pick up the Weapons of the Emperor next time.

Basic Las Training & Ambush have been mastered.

Otto have leveled up! \o/

>It is now 04.20 GMT+1 and our time for the evening is at and end

>Sage is great now that the thread is dead.

>We're stopping here since its a good place to do so narrtivly

>So I died again, hoping not to do that again.

>We got some story progression tonight, here hoping that next time will be as enjoyable!

>Next time will open Chapter 1 properly now that we are out of the preloge - it will contain a recap and be designed to be easy to jump into.

>Would love som feedback - what do you like/dislike about Commissar Quest?

>I´d like to hear peoples opinions on the new roll system.

>On that note: Tonight I experimented with using pictures to set the mood rather then the random going-into-my-folder approch, I also used some music - opinions?

>Like always I'll be around for awhile as I unwind for bed answering questions about commissar quest and life in general.

>We are now archived http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/34534080/ go give it a nudge if you want.

Glad you have risen from death yet again Commissar!

How is everything?

How does it feel to have to Skill tree done?

How does it feel to be moving on to another chapter? Guess I can't ask what what you have planned?

As always before I forget thanks for the thread!
>>
>>34544301
Are you back for good?
>>
>>34544384
>>34544416
Glad to be back - summers can be strange times, I hope to be back permanently now but I might still be flakey next week due to moving again - but you know.

Skill tree is nice to finely have done - hoping people find it more usefull and interactive - building otto should be up to you guys after all.

As for next chapter well... It will involve more actual training to be a commissar - characters have been introduced and storylines have been set - the next chapter will deal primary with setting you up to become a commissar - you will leave besvir by the end of it, so in say 20 or so threads naturally that means it will involve more time skips and puberity

>Puberty
