A bright light spreads the stark outline of your form over your companions. Long arms, jagged shoulders and a trident shaped head frames their shocks faces. Gyro and Dasher move to grab the shaking Rewire and comatose junky while Arclight grabs the energon converter. To your side Copper all but kicks the Decepticons to get them up and moving and the five NAILs who stayed with you are seeking cover around the computer room. They hide under desks and behind large terminals that stick from the walls.

You squint behind, out through the windows of the skytower. There is a large dark mass flying outside, a large searchligh slung under it. You can hear the faint drone of its engines through the walls. Through the doorway, out into the hall, you see other beams of light passing through other doors.

Looks like more of Cetus' gunships have come looking for you since you ignored his commands.

"All of you get up and calm down." You growl.

Trundling over to you Copper asks. "So what kinda oily discharge will this be?"

Snarling, you give a half shrug. Red energy arcs along your fanged shoulders.

Gyro walks up to the two of you with the junky in her arms.

"Shouldn't we start running?" She asks, shifting the weight of the burned out wreck of a 'Bot.

A glance shows you that the other NAILs have moved to the exit, along with Dasher leading Rewire by the hand. Arclight walks up to you along with the 'Cons. Drive-By has Dust clinging to his back.

"Let's avoid them for now and get moving. We have a deadline."

The group moves through the skytower, heading down level by level. You come across Quarry and the NAILs with him two levels down and they fall in behind you.

All the while searchlights probe the dark tower.

When you reach the ground floor the group begins moving through the warehouse riddled wharf, keeping close to walls and overhangs.

The gunships mill about above.

Not too far away you hear the sound of heavy blaster fire and explosions. Whatever Cetus' ship was targeting seemed to be putting up a good fight.

You reach a road with a sign stating this is L section. The merchants couldn't be too far away.

The sounds of fighting are close now.

You press your back up against a wall and signal a halt. Nodding to Copper, the old campaigner takes point and moves ahead.

You cross a road and it gives you a good view of whats going on.

You see a large figure, rendered a silhouette by the fire surrounding it, firing two pairs of arm mounted rifles up at the wedge shaped ship. It is big, easily taller than one of the gunship Cybertronians that advance on it on foot, but without the hulking upper body. As you watch the large cannon mounted on its shoulder fires and annihilates one of the circling agents.

"Ah got contacts." Coppers' voice distracts you from the scene. "Th'purple, glowy kind."

With a snarl you say, "We need to avoid all hostiles. Lets go around."

"Righ-o. Head 'bout a thousand meters left then."

Waving to the group you signal for them to transform and move out.

Riding on top of Arclight, you keep a vigil for any trouble as you all circle around the warehouses and a couple of skytowers. Here and there you see vagrants ducking into dark doorways and down alleys.

Once you come across one that has been torn to shreds.

You eventually meet up with Copper at the base of another skytower.

He waves at you and chuckles. "Enjoying th'ride while ah slog through enemy territory?"

"Any trouble?" You ask.

"Terrorcons, ah think. Looked messed up and had dark shards o' crystal stickin' out o'em. Didn't draw their attention."

You nod. The merchants had said something about Terrorcons. They would be a hindrance.

"How much farther?" Quarry asks you while in his bulbous van alt.

"Shouldn't be to much farther." Replies Gyro. She has the junky stuffed into her front seats, his head and legs hanging from the windows on either side.

"Which is why ah stopped here." Copper says smugly. "We can go down through th'lower level o' th'tower an' find our mercantile friends."

"I've had it with sub-levels and tunnels. We're staying above ground."

"What? Up here where we're all moving targets?" Quarry asks. Transforming, he marches up to you. "They want YOU don't they? Why are will following you when all this heat is coming down on us because of you?" He points at the ship floating in the sky. "If that thing turns on us we're done for! We should head under ground where it's safe."

Narrowing your optics at him you say. "Yeah, cause it was so safe for you last time you went off on your own."

"That was your fault too!" He roars. "The 'Cons were after YOU, not us."

"We've been over this. We're getting out of here. Then splitting up." You grit your teeth and feel the tingle of red energon dancing across your hull.

"I doubt we'll reach the ship with you jinxing us." He snaps back.

"You know what's underground? Terrorcons. You know what you can't do all that effectively underground?" You lean in close to Quarry, your red optics and predatory features a stark contrast to his blocky helmet and protruding chin. "Run from Terrorcons."

He pushes forward and the two of you are now forehead to forehead. You see him grit his teeth as crimson electricity dances over him.

"We're almost there. A little further and you wont have to deal with me anymore. I'll stay out of your way on the ship and you stay outta mine." You growl.

"If anyone here dies, it is on you." He says the steps back to transform.

"Tell you what, if any trouble comes our way feel free to run ahead." You say.

Leaving the shadow of the skytower and moving on once more, the group crosses two more roads when a pair of vagrants racing by in their rusted alts scares everyone.

Even more frightening is the Terrorcon chasing them.

A twisted figure of nightmare, the Terrorcon was clearly big in life. In death it is now stooped low, jagged purple energon crystals sprout from its hull. More disturbingly is its righ arm, which seems to be another undead Cybertronian grafted wholesale to its shoulder, its legs acting as a pair of large fingers.

Not wanting to get bogged down the group races away from the abomination. Your flight aided by Copper blasting the Terrorcons' knee out.

With Gyro receiving directions from the merchants you finally reach the ships location. Looking like any other warehouse, building LX-32 nonetheless has impressive security. The door is reinforced armoured steel with a complex digital lock. You would guess that the rest of the building was similarly armoured.

Not that it would keep you out if you really wanted in.

There was a problem though, as Cogsworth explained from the warehouse across the road from it. Surrounding the building was a group of Terrorcons, along with one big one. Seems they were trying to tear their way in to get at whatever power source was inside.

"My bodyguard and I are no where near armed enough to take them on." Cogsworth, a short NAIL coloured silver and blue says. He has sapphires embedded in his helmet and silver cogs clicking on his chestplate. He gesticulates his hands about in a way you were familiar with, the not quite pointing and attention grabbing sweeps of a salesman. "But we are sure with all of you we could overpower them quite quickly."

Standing behind him is a large, round Cyberstronian. His body was plain grey except for yellow and black chevrons on his forearms and a silver cog medallion on his chestplate. He didn't give you his name, or speak at all.

"Do we really want to risk a fire fight with those things?" Gyro asks.

Sitting on a crate, her legs swinging, Dasher says, "We could try leading them away."

"We'll lead them away." You say.

Dasher smiles in delight and hopes off the crate, only for the smile to fade when you correct yourself.

"I'll lead them away."

"Oh come on! You gotta let me come I'm the fastest one here!" She wines.

You shake your head so fast it's a blur. "Not while I'm full of red energon you're not." You look to the merchant. "How long wil it take to open those doors?"

"Oh, half a minute. For the first set. Another minute for the second. They are... more complex."

You nod. More than one set of security measures was typical.

Clapping your hands together you say, "Alright, so I go out there and get their attention. You will get everyone inside and keep the door open for me."

"An' if more o' those freaks show up?" Copper asks with a raised brow and slight smirk.

"We'll burn that bridge when we cross it."

At the door leading out to the road you slowly lean out and get a look. There are seven of them milling about on the dusty road, with the big one throwing itself against the armoured door.

You grumble quietly and take the medkit you had been carrying out from your back compartment. Opening it and activating one of the tubes you allow the nanobots to repair some of your damaged hull.

>HP- 58/72

You blink and realize that your vision is now less blurry and you are able to focus your senses more. Everything still has a red tint though.

"You really going out there on your own?" Dasher says from your side.

"Yep." You say while closing the kit.

"And I can't come?"

"Nope." You pass the kit back and lightly shove her back towards the group. "Make sure whoever needs this the most gets it." You may still be damaged, but so is everyone else.

Striding out into the road you cross half the distance between you and the Terrorcons then transform. A low, rumbling growl rises from your throat and red energy crackles around in your maw as you surge forward on undulating tentacles.

Amongst them in a flash, the Terrorcons don't even react to your presence and you get a better look at them. Their hulls are dark, like the energon flowing through them has burned the colour out. Violet crystals of energon emerge from crack while bright purple oil leaks from joints. Each had a vacant, hungry stare in their optics.

You doubt the Terrorcon even knows what hits him. Grabbing the shambling horror you lift him up and take hold of his arms and legs. Then you bite down on his mid section and pull, tearing him apart and devouring a large piece of his infected hull.

You toss the severed halves aside and bellow at the rest. They turn their empty gazes to you and you prepare to run.

Then a chill runs through you.

A gurgling, sickening feeling begins to build in your gullet.

You were in Praxus at the time, engaged in your hobby of sticking your olfactory receptors where they didn't belong.

The news casts had been swamped with reports of arson, robbery and acts of terrorism. Research facilities had been destroyed. Archives pillaged.Storage bunkers obliterated.

What few people on knew was that Senators were also turning up dead.

Even fewer knew it was all related.

You had interrogated the survivors of the attacks that you could get your hands on. Most were silent, scared. Some were raging in fear. You had only been to two of the crime scenes and they had been appalling.

It was as if someone had actively desecrated them, crated horrifying monuments to carnage.

Following leads you found your way into a meeting with a Senator who was afraid for her life.

The things she told you about the darker dealings of the Senate had made your hull go cold. The Institute. Cells of Terrorists funded by other Senators.

Then she mentioned a name

Scylla

>(continued)

She had always been the most social of the four of you. The only one who actively tried to bring you all together.

Chipper and cheerful to an extreme, but coy. Always avoiding the questions you and Hydra peppered her with. You had always known she was hiding something.

Assassin.

That was what the Senator had said.

Then three days ago that Senator disappeared.

Your excellent investigative abilities, and a nagging thought about who to look for, lead you hear.

A dark penthouse on the top floor of the largest tower in Praxus. The shutters were all closed. Candles, frivolous shows of wealth, lined the room in by the thousand. The walls were covered in strange symbols that did not seem to look right. The were made with inner energon.

"Scylla?" You called. When you were young you had liked to believe it had been forceful, authoritative. In the thousands of years you spent in depression you realized your voice had wavered. If only slightly.

Nothing came at first. You took a few steps through the entry hall, then quickly moved onto the main chamber. You passed dataslates and memory chips as you went. They littered the floor like sand.

In the main chamber was horror. The Senator, her top half anyway, was lashed to the ornate crystal chandelier. Her hull had been completely removed and energon still dripped from her.

You heard something then. the faintest of sighs.

"Enough of this slag Scylla! Come out."

She could be anywhere you knew. She could move through walls, floors and ceilings like they were air.

"Dispatch this is Sentry Kracken, I am in Vodrek Heights. I need ba-" You didn't get to finish. A fanged maw clamped onto your foot and whipped you across the room. You tumbled end over end, until you crashed into a wall then landed on a sealed case.

Moving quickly you transformed. Your own maw opened and roared at the two figures that entered. They were wolves, all chrome and matte black. One was pulling itself out of the floor, the other striding out of the wall.

The return your roar with harsh barks, like cannon fire.

Then one began speaking in a soft, melodic voice.

"First of all you will eat all the bodies.

The wolves do not stop their advance. The other one says, "Forward you crush those going backward. Voracious flames upon the earth."

Then, before they reach striking distance, they both sink into they floor.

You wait, poised to strike.

Tracking the sound of the voice you manage to slam your limbs down and launch yourself sideways as one of the wolves flies through the floor and into the ceiling. The second sails out from the wall that had been behind you and paces slowly around.

"Swallow the trees the lakes and all the valleys.
Crush the moon, and drink the rivers flowing." She says. You can now see that her optics, once deep blue, were a vivid violet.

"I don't want to fight you." You said.

She growls and her other half trots up next to her. As they come side to side they begin to merge, at first becoming a two headed hound, then her body extends and slims down. The limbs fold inward and you find yourself looking at a massive serpent. It rears back, ready to strike.

You activate your comm again and manage to blurt "NEED BACKUP NOW!" before she lunges again.

"SCYLLA! SLAG IT! I don't want to lose the only sibling I actually like! But you've gone to far..." You turn from the hole. Then back. There, inside is four baleful eyes.

"Is there a chance you face the void inside? Winds of doom will blow your pride away" Said six nightmarish voices. Following that was half a dozen energy blasts that tore the walls apart and blew several of your tentacles away.

You teleported down. And down.

You fled till you reached a floor where a number of Sentries were rushing up. At there head was Ultra Magnus, Landmine, and your mentor Ironstar.

You stayed long enough for the group to level the upper floors. Long enough to see the twisted abomination that was Scyllas' turbo mode.

After that Ultra Magnus arrested you, slapped you with a number of infractions, then released you on Ironstars' orders

Cetus had been furious when he heard and made all kinds of accusations against you that he just as quickly apologized for. Hydra had asked why you couldn't handle it yourself.

It was roughly then you left Cybertron to do a tour of the outer worlds. A vacation, Ironstar had called it.

The memory fades and slowly the world shrinks again. It gets far, far away, so far it becomes a speck. Then your vision becomes lined with a dark teal. It continues to move, like you are falling away from it.

The teal lines form a grid that also grows smaller and more distant. The grid curves in places, taking shape as something vast.

A great hole that is both an eye and a maw gazes at you in hunger.

Then it too fades.

>Stasis Lock Released

You come awake with a start. It is cold.

Slowly looking around you realize you are in a CR chamber, submerged in the cold nanotech fluid. A small window shows you a dark room beyond.

You chronometer states that you have been in stasis for eight years.

And so ends Transformers Quest 15

Next thread should be up Saturday around noon. Are you ready for UPGRADES?!

As always questions, comments, concerns, and critique welcome.

>Are you ready for UPGRADES?!
I dunno, it's only been a month since you told us to start thinking about them. Seems like you're rushing it a bit.
>>
>>34597089
Oh.

Oh hell..

...we didn't kill Copper, did we? Cause that woulda sucked...
>>
>>34597089
>eight years.
Dammit guys, all we had to do was shoot and run. No one ever listens to me.
>>
>>34597089
>eight years.
I wonder what has happened after that time, thanks for the thread OP
>>
>>34597089
Would the story have been significantly different if we had chosen some other method of dealing with the terrorcons?
>>
>>34597130
or made that save

The next thread would basically be completely dedicated to discussing the upgrades and how to spend what exp you guys get. We'll go over rule and possibilities and go over the list before finalizing it in an actual quest thread next week.

I may do a little comedy oneshot about Steve the Vehicon, Starscreams #1 fanbot in the background of it for fun.

>>34597130
Oh hell yes. There would have been zombie smack downs, a nice chat with Blancorvus about the nature of responsibility, more brotherly bonding with Cetus, antics with foppish Cogsworth and the reason Gyro doesn't like Wreckers.

All this could still happen, but would need setting up again.

I was actually pretty damn sure you guys wouldn't go that route since we were vomiting plasma beams from eating normal stuff. Aaaaaand I almost decided to make it a courage roll, but i had already decided that dark energon would attack a characters' weakest stat as one of its effects. technically we should have rolled INT cause of alt mode but there was a two point difference so oh well
>>
>>34597235
At least do the Cetus thing. He seems like a swell guy.
>>
>>34597235
What would have happened if we made that save?
>>
>>34597235
>I was actually pretty damn sure you guys wouldn't go that route since we were vomiting plasma beams from eating normal stuff.

>eating stuff gives us laser breath
>expecting this to make us less likely to eat stuff
>>
>>34597280
He makes a good point.
>>
>>34597235
I actually thought eating dark energon would be good for us, you know with the whole 'probably a unicronian' thing we have going on.

You're Welcome!
>>34597272
You would have vomited some kind of horribly volatile red/dark energon mix on the Terrorcons, turning them into melty fast zombies that would promptly explode.
>>34597280
>>34597286
>>34597294
I am not a clever man. Or a gambler.
>>
>>34597235
I get the feeling that at least some form of our upgrade will deal with getting to eat things better.
>>
>>34597235
> Intelligence roll
That makes no damn sense. Given what that shit was doing to us nothing but endurance seems appropriate.
>>
>>34597484
Yeah, telechan has beaten it over our heads enough that we need both an endurance upgrade and some skill that we can use for resistance rolls.
>>
we need some sort of iron stomach upgrade.
>>
>>34597582
The real question is: How do we deal with this trauma?

Kracken, a cop of x hundred thousand years, who many people have called a monster, beast, insane psychopath, and all-around menace to society, just proved everyone right.

If his first question isn't: "How many did I kill," spoken in some dead, purely robotic tone (yes, I get the pun, didn't have a better word) I'll be surprised. Hell, he might even start believing all them haters.
>>
>>34597647
wut

he went into stasis lock, not berserk frenzy
>>
>>34597647
Add-on: It might be beneficial to have a timelapse for a thread like this. We just fade into the background, reading from whatever library we can while the word progresses around us, emerging only so we can put this knowledge to use with our experience to make various upgrades to ourselves with Cetus or someone else helping us. Eventually, by the end of the thread, some other crisis arrises so that we simply HAVE to start being a cop again. We can have a whole, "I'm retired now," talk, in the true-to-life noir cop fashion.

>>34597672
He ate dark energon, and became infected, while high on red energon. The way I interpret it was that he went berserk and had to be put down.
>>
>>34597693
Yeah, you're not reading what was actually written, then.
>>
>>34597672
Well the was some wild flailing that ended badly for the terrorcons but it seems that stopped when our friends showed up.
>>
>>34597373
You know, you really should've included some sort of warning about dark energon being instantly deadly before taking people's write-ins to eat something. I think they might've changed their minds.
>>
>>34597698
>>34597702
We were being shot at, and not by terrorcons.
>>
>>34597814
>not by terrorcons
Says who? Two got smashed by our tentacles and then we were in the middle of a bunch of them.
>>
>>34597827
We certainly didn't stop beating on things once they were gone.
>>
>>34597839
Again, says who. You're trying to force this narrative you've cooked up onto the rest of us, but it doesn't fit what was actually presented.
>>
>>34597872
You're trying to force the narrative that everything went pretty well, all things considered. That doesn't fit either.
>>
>>34597886
Except that's what was written. It was specifically called out that we flailed around and killed two terrorcons. Everything after that just has us being a passive observer as we die.
>>
>>34597905
Maybe we were a passive observer...but does that mean our body was just lying there doing nothing?

If so, why the impacts?
>>
>>34597920
Terrorcons beating and shooting at us. Are you really this retarded?
>>
>>34597929
We'll see.
>>
>>34597929
There were only three of them, they were dead at that point.

>>34597920
Clearly we were still acting erratically and were obviously dangerous to be near, so we got blasted the duck down. By the time they approached us we had gone too far into our rapidly developing breakdown to be a danger anymore. However long that would have taken, I'm sure they would have held back until then.
>>
>>34597977
Except there was a powersource inside the warehouse which all the other infected were after. We had the bonus of red energon.

Why wouldn't we bust in there ourselves?
>>
>>34597977
>At the door leading out to the road you slowly lean out and get a look. There are seven of them milling about on the dusty road, with the big one throwing itself against the armoured door.

You niggers need to learn how to read.
>>
>>34597977
> duck
Duck you too, phone

>>34597996
Ah. Read more carefully, rather.
