The very last thing you remember is not the terrible dread as the airplane went down. Some sort of engine trouble? you really couldn't care less as the view changed from the surface of the clouds into a spiral of doom while your plane approached the ground.

Funny how time seems to slow down, and the mind fixates on the oddest things at times like those.

The very last thing you remember is your lucky dice flying off your pocket in the middle of all the spinning and bouncing around, and how it got stuck on someone's mashed potato meal against the window.

It was a 20. A natural 20.

As expected of your lucky dice.
>>
>>34621740
That was then. This is now.

There's a sensation of being squished and pushed. A helplessness and still a sense of purpose and then suddenly a bright light at the end of a tunnel!

No, it doesn't seems to be heaven, or hell, nor do you see your family and friends waiting for you.

You can't see much of anything, really. There's this fog around your eyes and ... you can feel yourself being lifted gently by enormous, gentle hands. And there's voices around. Three or maybe four...?

"XX XXXX XX?"
"XX XXX XXXX XX X XX"
"X XXX XXXXX XX X XXX X!!"

And then there's this sensation of warmth and love, and you feel a heartbeat right next to you, and something soft and warm is pressed against your lips.

As if it was the most natural thing, you open your mouth so suck on it.

Warm. Tasty. It is a flavour you knew. It is a flavor you know.

And then you fall asleep.

***

"Why isin't he crying?"
"Why should he? he's a boy, right?"
"Babies always cry."
"Not my son, he doesn't"

***

What happened? did you survive the accident? where are you? is this a hospital?

You can't move. Are you paralyzed?!
Oh God you are paralyzed, aren't you!?

No, wait... there we go... you can't see quite right but... yeah that's your arm. You are moving your arm. Your eyes are having trouble looking around... everything looks blurry and sort of liquid.
>>
Well this seems interesting.
>>
>>34621845
It takes you a few days to fully understand what happened. Or rather, to accept it.

You are a baby now. You can sometimes feel strong hands picking you up, and sometimes its soft hands. The soft hands usually mean food.

Yes, you are sucking on your mother's breast. It feels warm and completely natural.

A few weeks pass by. Your eyes are firmer now. Your field of view is much clearer.

Your dad looks the rugged type. Tall, wide shoulders, clean shave. He's actually pretty good looking. Hopefully you inherited his looks. He has dark black hair, kept short.

Your mom is really a beauty. She has bright, clear gold hair and bright blue eyes. Good work, dad!

Their clothings look very old fashioned, like what you'd see in a western movie. The house has walls of wood and stone.

Are you poor? but there's a maid. A pretty girl that barely reaches up to your dad's chest. She's wearing a long maid uniform, with a fluffy white hat tat covers her ears. She has a very girlish figure.

Your family can't be poor if they have a maid, right?

Looking at the petite maid, you chocked on your mom's milk when she takes off her hat for a moment.

Pointy!

She has pointy ears, and not just "sort of pointy". No! these are properly pointy ears, like those of an elf in the RPGs you loved!

Could it be!?
>>
>>34621999

A few months later. You are sure.

This is a fantasy world, an RPG-like world! definitively. And furthermore, you somehow have the memories of your previous life. If there was such a thing as critical success for reincarnations, you sure hit it! As expected of your lucky dice, indeed!

Not only are you reborn with the memories of your past life, you were reborn into a fantasy world, just the way all those games, manga and /tg/ threads liked to talk about!

Wait... if there's elves, there must be magic, right? Oh God you wish you could cross your fingers as you hope for it, but they're much too clumsy for that right now.

Mom: "XX XXXX XX XX X"
Dad: "XX XXX X X XX XX XX"

***
Mom: "Hey, look, he's smiling!"
Dad: "He sure looks happy, hehehe"
***

Well, for now, first things first. You really need to learn the language.

Just as you are thinking that, the petite elf maid leaves the room. Your dad makes sure she's gone and closes the door, then moves over and kisses your mom.

Oh, they sure are a young couple, uh?

Wait, dad, why are you taking me away, what is this I don't even...!

Oh, he placed you on your crib.. and then went over to your mom and...

They sure are a young couple, uh?

Well, you do your best to ignore them and they "ah ah!" lovey dovey sounds.

***
A few months have passed, and now you understand their words. It surely helps to learn new languages, being immersed in them.

Really, it helps a lot. All those people that went out of the country as exchange students, they sure knew what they were doing.

Your dad's name is Cedric, and your mom is Linda.

The maid's name is Elli. Tho you are sure that must be a short version of her name.

As you stare out of your crib, a mosquito zooms into the room. Ugh, couldn't you have been reborn in world without mosquitos? well, can't really ask for more, really.

Just as you are thinking that, the pest has to come and bite you.

Ugh! you swat it away, but it just doesn't wants to go away.

Goddamn fucking cunt of a bug! you hate this little winged fucker!

Suddenly, mom and dad wake up when out of their baby's crib a (tiny) blast of fire comes up and leaves a black mark on the roof.

You just used magic. Yes, you.

You are fainting out of sheer exhaustion, but you had never been this happy in this or your previous life.

Fuck yeah

Who's a mage? you're the mage!

Taste my fireballs, you fucking pest!

"What in...?" -your dad gets to see the small fireball as it hits the roof
"What is it, love?" -your mom is waking up because your dad jumped up
"There was fire! right over Eldric's crib, look!" -he points up to the scorch mark on the ceiling.
"Uh...? fire?"

Your parents lift your sleeping form and look at you thoroughly, making sure you are unhurt.

The collowing morning, you are pumped up as fuck. You used magic, you are sure of it!
>>
>>34622292
Fuck yeah!
Who's the best wizard!
>>
>>34622292

"Do you think he got your gift?" -your dad asks over breakfast
"He could have, but he's just much too young to use any sort of magic. It takes a mature mind to channel, you know?"
"Eh, that's my son."
"Love, really! you can't just say "Eh, that's my son". It could be dangerous if a baby really COULD use magic, you know?"
"It was a tiny fireball. Daddy can take little Eldric's blast, can't he? can't he?" -he caresses your tummy

Your mom sighs, and looks at you with worry.

As it turns out, talking is a lot harder than you'd think. It seems your throat can't make any proper words yet.
But you used magic, so that's fine.
You can't crawl, so you depend on your parent's or Elli carrying you around.
But you used magic, so that's fine.

Then you notice... there's something blinking on the upper left corner of your field of view. No matter how you try to follow it with your eyes, it stays on the upper left corner of your field of view.

You wonder about it, and when you try to swat it off, your little fingers pass over it and...

You start practicing magic all the time.

"That's my son!" -your dad seems extremely proud of you
"Dear, really, maybe we should..." -your mom is worried

It isin't quite an argument, but your parents talk about you a lot. It usually ends in sex, tho, and your mom relents. Good job, Cedric!

So, under your dad's proud gaze, you are encouraged to use as much magic as you can.

Your dad isin't always in the house, tho.

Well, it seems obvious, your dad probably works at something, so he can't be home all day.

Your mom lives worried about you, tho. She sits out on the fresh grass with you and sings and cuddles with you. She frowns a little whenever you use magic, but as days become weeks and weeks become months without you setting anyone on fire, she seems much calmer about things.

The first time you used a fireball to kill a mosquito, you fainted. But the second time you were able to use two fireballs. Then after that, four, then eight...

12, 20, 30....

It looks like, the more you practice it, the easier it becomes. Your level hasn't changed, tho.

(The maid) Elli is clearly afraid of you, however.

Finally, you manage to make proper sounds...

I think that a sufficiently high-level wizard or cleric would be able to figure out the truth. If that happens (likely, since our parents are retired adventurers), I think we should go with we were always their son but were gifted with the memories of another life, or that the son and us agreed to merge and we're both their son and some guy from another world.

It feels like it would break our mother's (and father's) heart to learn that her son never even had a chance.

***

As it turns out, your dad and mom are former adventurers, who retired when you appeared into the picture.
You'd like to know their levels, but can't find a way to do so.

Hearing them, however, it seems clear that Cedric, your dad, was a holy knight in the service of a knightly order, and your mother was a sorceress.

After retiring, they moved to the countryside, and your dad is acting as the local constable/town guard/sheriff, in charge of keeping the wandering murder hobos in check, as well as defending the townsfolk against monsters and bandits.

Your dad seems to be good at his job.

Time goes on, and you keep growing. You no longer get tired of using fireball anymore.

As you approach your 3rd year, you are already running all over the house.

There's hardly any books in the house, but then again, if this really is a RPGish world, that doesnt surprise you.

Elli cries out the first time she sees you sitting in front of the chimmey with an open book on your lap, but after a while, she calms down when you studiously flip and stare at the pages.

It is the winter of your third year.

Your mom and dad are cuddling together on the couch while you run around in the room.

Your dad has a holy book from the Faith of Steel, and your mom has a journal where she keeps her notes from back when she was at the magical university of Eopolis.

Elli was quite afraid of you at first, but as you grew up, she warmed up to you. Spending the day with the petite elf girl, she tells you about how the village took her in after your father rescued her from bandits that devastated he r small nomad tribe.

She seems to be quite love-struck with your dad, but it looks perfectly innocent. Truly, Elli is the definition of a innocent maiden.

Sometimes, she bathes with you when your mom goes out with your dad to help him and she has to take care of you instead.

She has a very attractive figure, but doesnt seems to feel anything from your looks.

She teaches you about plants and animals on those days, and before you know it, your status has changed.

Scion: Choosen by the Gods, you can have more than 2 classes
Exp Gain increased by 50%
Small boost to all attributes
Scion does not count for purposes of Exp distribution

Wizard: You can use elemental (offensive) magic.
Small boost to intelligence
Small boost to MP

Noble: The realm has a long tradition of heroes who are then elevated to the status of Nobles. Since you come from such a bloodline, this class replaces Warrior for you.
Small boost to Strength
Small boost to HP
Small boost to Charisma

Passive: Can use all types of armor and shields

Ranger: Wise in the ways of nature, the rangers are just as much at home in the wilderness as they are in civilized lands.

Small boost to Strength
Small boost to Dexterity

Active: Stealth
Passive: Can use all Ranged weapons

Knight: Heavily armored front line fighters, there's nothing as awe-inspiring as a knight in shining armor, ramming against a dragon atop a mighty steed, spear at the ready.

Large boost to Strength
Small boost to charisma

Active: Summon Steed
Passive: Half damage from area attacks

When you reach 5 years old, your dad starts taking you along with him. He sits you on his shoulders as he walks around town showing his genius child.

The town looks like your typical fantasy-ish village. Just a few houses, a smithy, an inn, a general supplies store, and plenty of farms around it.

There is also a large stone tower that turns out to be the watchpost/fortress of the town. This is where your dad spends his time when he is not patrolling or fighting off monsters.

As your dad places you on the floor, you take a look around. There are all sorts of weapons hanging on the walls (a bit too high for you to reach), and your dad is okay with letting you play around the tower.

"Eldric, what are you...?" -Cedric notices you oulling a chair towards the wall- "Oh, want me to teach you how to use that?"
"Ah, yes please"

Your dad picks a small, 1-handed repeating xbow. It has catridges with bolts, and you handle it with a small lever.

He goes out with you and sets some practice targets next to the tower's base.

"Alright son, you handle this like this..." -Cedric teaches you about your small weapon.

Perhaps it's because he's a first time parent and you act so mature all the time, but your dad talks to you normally, rather than how one would talk to a child.

"If you can be responsible with your fireballs, I'm sure you can be responsible with this." -he says with confidence. "But just in case, you DO know you are absolutely NOT allowed to shoot anyone, right?"
"Yes dad"
"Alright. You have these catridges and have fun, but don't let other kids play with it, and don't wander off too far, alright?"
"Yes dad"

Your father goes back inside the tower.

/tg/ seems to be surprisingly responsible.

You apologize and go back inside after collecting the bolts.

Your dad is writing some documents, and when you go in, he picks you up and sits you on his lap.
As it turns out, he's trading letters with his family in the capital. He's very respectful, and you eventually realize he's writing to his father.

It seems your grandfather wants him to go back home and resume his work in the order. He was alright with him taking a leave of absence while your mom was pregnant and you were a toddler, but now that you are five, he wants his son back.

Your dad replies that he is perfectly happy where he is, and that it is better for you to grow up with as wide a space to run and play in as possible, insteaf of the groomed hallways of the family keep.

He also writes about your magical prowess with quite the bit of pride, as well as about your maturity and intelligence.

Once he is done with the letter, he takes you off to patrol with him.

For the first time, you see a party screen. Your dad's portrait, his hp bar, mp bar, class and levels appear when you look into it.

Cedric Lightbringer
29 years old Human Male
Level 34 Paladin, Level 54 Noble

He sits you on his shoulders, and walks off after locking the tower.

"You don't use a shield, right?"
"That's right. I'd rather not get hit than getting hit and taking it."
"And you aren't using armor."
"Ah...well... it's spiky at the shoulders so I wouldn't be able to carry you like this if I did."
"Oh"

Your dad is carrying a claymore on his back and a long dagger on his belt.

You carefully play with 1 (one) point. It looks like you can remove it, and need to confirm your changes before they are made permanent. In this manner, you learn that:

Attributes do not seem to have an upper limit
Abilities can only go up to 100, taking both base and bonus points into consideration. For example, your dad has
1h weapons 54
And you can set it as high as
1h weapons 54+46

Your dad introduces you to the villagers and farmers, and then stops by a small shrine next to a clear-looking, quick river. There's a shrine on the side of it, next to the small stone bridge that crosses it.

It was a nice, quiet day.

"Don't worry dad, I will take care of mom, Elli and Athena. You take care of yourself, alright!?"
"Alright" -your dad smiles as he ruffles your hair. "Come on, there's something else I need to show you before we go."

Your dad takes you on patrol as usual. He eplains to the village elder that he has to go, so they will have to organize a militia to patrol the town while he's gone. They could and should call for your mom if things look bad.

Once he's spoken to the elder, he takes you to the tower again.

"I said there was something else. That wasn't quite true... there's two things. The first one is this..."

He explains to you how it will probably take at least a couple of years for him to come back, so he won't be with you for your tenth birthday, and his family tradition is that the father gives his son a gift at that time, so he's going to give you your gift now.

He moves a stone that had been loose in the tower wall, making a hidden compartment. He takes out a longsword and kneels down so his eyes are even with yours when he gives it to you.

"This is our family's sword, son. My father gave it to me, as his dad gave it to him, and so on from before we can remember."
"Is it a magical sword?" -you ask him as you see the obvious quality and shine of the blade
"Yes, but... honestly I don't know what powers it has... I want it to keep you safe. You use it to keep your mom and your sister safe as well, understood?"
"Why don't you use it? that way it will keep you safe"
"I'm more of the two handed type myself. And I think my dad wouldnt forgive me if I didint give it to you before leaving."

Active Skills: ???? ???? ????
Passive Skills: Recovers HP equal to damage dealt

It has three unknown skills. They are all active skills

"Now, don't ever let go of that sword, son" -he also hands you the sword sheat.

It is a little too large for you to use on your waist, so he fixes it so you can carry it on your back.

"There we go. Now for the second thing. You remember that shrine by the bridge, at the edge of town?"
"Yes dad"
"Never forget to pay your respects whenever you pass by. And never, ever spill blood near the river. Do you hear me?"
"Yes dad."
"Alright, c´mon"

He takes you around the town a last time, telling you about every single villager, as well as a massive, blind olf bear that lives in a cavern north of town. The old beast hunts mice and rabbits and anything dumb enough to make noise around it, but won't bother you if you stay quiet.

A few days later, your dad leaves.
He is wearing his silver armor, and summoned his mount, a large, massive black warhorse with plated armor.

"I am going"
"Be safe" -your mother kisses him

Your dad pats your head gently and leaves.

Another year passes. Your mom and you help the militia keep the town safe in the meanwhile.

Your dad sends letters regularly, but some arrive and some do not.
He says that the alquians are having trouble moving their warmachines across the hills of the southern border, and that he has taken command of the 7th platoon of heavy knights.

That the elves of the Yellowoods are joining the army, interested in keeping the alquians from reaching the woods.

That the alquians have hired bands of demihumans to harass the supply lines from the east, but that the dwaves of the Skyridge mountains are clearing them out.

One day, they stop arriving altogether.. Then the refugees start showing up.

It looks like the alquians finally got their warmachines in position, and began laying siege to the eiren holds and fortresses, succeeding all across the border. The cillagers from the southern lands are fleeing north, towards the capital.

During this time, your mother has clung to you and Athena for mental support. She has taught you magic every day.

When orders come from the south to evacuate the town, your mother is devastated. Surely your dad would never let the enemy get this close to you and your sister.

She is torn between fleeing to the capital, and seek shelter with your father's family, or going west, back to the magic university, where she was offered a position as lecturer and teacher.

You are focused enough that you don't notice the alquian scout group until they are on the other side of the bridge.

You are all that stands between them and the town.

Well, alright
To be fully honest, I started thinking about this as a series of short stories I was writing as a gift for a friend. He's a chemical engineer. Funny enough, he liked the idea and made himself in Rolemaster.
His RL skills alone took 3 levels. I told him /tg/ would call him OP
Can make gunpowder
Can assemble, maintain and operate nuclear reactors. Is what he was doing when I met him
But maybe a medic or at least a medicine student would be just as useful?
I don't really have a preference one way or another. What do you guys want?

I really hate this kind of attitude.

Anyway, I'd be fine with chemical engineer. Chemicals are the basis of metallurgy, which is needed to be a mechanical engineer.
If you don't have the needed alloys and elements, then you can't get the higher tier stuff anyway.
>>
>>34628544

Level 3 Wizard, Level 3 Scion, Level 1 Noble (off), Level 3 Ranger, Level 3 Knight, Level 1 Healer (off)

Want to turn some off and some on?
>>34628575
right, but i was talking about the mount is stronger the more knight and/or paladin levels we have, so it would be very fragile. Sure, it can take us to town, but if it gets hit, its going down in two hits right now

Anyway, most people seem to want to go to the bear, so im typing that, hold on

Well, it's not like it's baseless. You can't blame people for having it.
>>
>>34628645
You stare at their leader. He stares back at you and shouts for the orcs to grab you!

You have a fair headstart and you know the terrain, so you have little trouble staying ahead of them as you run into the bear's cave.

Thankfully, it's winter, so the bear is sleeping. You know the cave well enough, so as soon as the orcs go into the cave after you, you run in, take a left, slip past the sleeping bear and climb up through a hole.

Once outside, you throw a small fireball into the cave, and the roar that follows tells you that the large cave bear is quite awake now.

The cries will haunt you for days afterwards.

The alquian soldier spots you and tries to chase you climbing after you, but you manage to miss him.

As you approach the town, you shout the alarm and the villagers arm themselves with the weapons in the tower.

Your mom organizes the archers with her on top of the tower while the rest of the villagers lie in wait within the buildings.

The volley of fireballs and arrows that welcomes the soldier us more than enough to take him down.quickly, and the villagers begin packing their belongings to leave town.

You talk with your mom. She wasn't noble born, so while your father's family would LOVE to have you and your sister with them, they wouldn't be as happy with them. And it would be hard to explain why Elli is with you, so in the end, your mother decides to accept the position at the magic university.

A few days later, your mom buys a wagon and horse to help carry your family comfortably towards the east.

You help Elli pack things up, while the rest of the townsfolk prepare to leave in their own ways. The petite elf is obviously saddened to leave, but she's determined to stay with your family.

The next time you stop at the shrine to pay your respects, you explain that your family is leaving because of the war, that the enemy soldiers may arrive soon, and about how you hope that Cedric will return safe and sound.

By the time you lift your eyes, you see two rings glowing on top of the shrine.

Ring of Knowledge
Passive: Holding this ring between your fingers and looking through its hole at an item will reveal any active magical properties that it may have.

Ring of Souls. Active: ???

You pick the ring of knowledge and look at this one through it.

Active: Once after every sunrise, you can summon a small sprite to help you. The faery remains until you dismiss it or it is attacked, which causes it to dissapear until it is summoned again.

As you pick each ring in turn and place them back over the small shrine, you feel that you are not alone.

Next time we tinker with classes we should turn Healer back on and push for Thaumaturge to go with Knight; if you guys want to counterbalance that, we can bench Ranger until we need stealth again.

Looking at the sword through it, you can now read its activated abilities

Ljósbera
Mithril 1-handed longsword
Active Skill: Switch between HP Recovery or MP recovery on hit
Active Skill: (Ignite) Ljósbera is covered in flames and deals extra fire damage until commanded to turn off. This ability also causes it to shed light in a 60" radius. Special passive: Allies who can see Ljósbera in flames receive a large bonus to magical and physical damage
Active Skill: (Mage Killer) 1 time after every sinrise, Ljósbera can project a field of magical silence 60" across itself. Spellchanting is impossible within this area. This effect lasts until dismissed.
Passive Skills: Recovers HP equal to damage dealt

The Whistle of the Lady
This is actually a magical amulet. Blowing on it produces a clear and beautiful sound, but it does not have any magical effects.
Passive: You can breathe underwater
Passive: You can walk on water

But remember that the Mount we get from Knight is dependent on Knight levels for durability.
We should level it as well to make sure our mount can handle what we put it through.
How about turning Ranger and Knight on and off in cycles so that we level one then the other?

Man, we'd better be going up against some big-time antagonists if that's our kit.

That sounds hilariously powerful, especially once we get a party.
>>
>>34630827
Eh...that could work, I suppose. Depending on the mission that's ahead of us, or if we get separated from our allies? A stealth/wood-based mission, we'll take up Ranger. In a group or large battle, we'll have Knight at the ready.
>>
>>34630774
Thank the spirit and promise we'll come back someday.
Then hurry back to our family as we head west.

Turn on noble
Turn off Knight
Turn off Ranger

Keep in mind we weren't supposed to get it for 5 more years, most of our family don't know its abilities, and our stats themselves are still terribly low in comparison.

Alright.
Anyway, I think I should stop the thread for today. Need to actually eat something, its 7 hours after lunch time.
Will archive the thread and come back to munch here so I can answer questions and such.
Back in like 12 minutes or so.

We should keep Ranger and Knight turned on during this journey, though. They will let us scout for our mom and forage for supplies with Elli.

>>

1h repeating crossbow.
>>
>>34631814
Yeah, but the sword's, like, an artifact
What I don't get is why we're bothering with 2h; even if we find some great ones, surely we can give them to a party member. Divine+Elemental magic & 1h+ranged with a side of stealth & toughness is about as thin as I'm comfortable spreading our skills around.
>>
>>34631773
Im going with a % system
Attributes add themselves as a bonus to something. For example Intelligence 30 adds +30% to Intelligence related skill checks.

solve a puzzle?
Difficulty very easy 90% or less. Would be 120%
Easy is 60% or less would be 90%
Normal is 30
Hard is 10% would be 40%
Very hard is 5% would be 35%

Skills will unlock special abilities every 10 points
1h weapon 10 = disarm
1h weapon 20 = riposte
1h weapon 30 = dual wielding
etc

Elemental magic... well its different. Every 10 points you choose between
Deal 20% more damage
Affect areas 20% larger
Affect more an extra target
Reach 50" further
>>
The one thing im unsure on right now, it's... when we kill a monster, want it to be left there, the whole monster, or want it to "poof!" and leave you a drop item? the second option would be funnier

Kill mangy wolf
Obtain 1 wolf pelt, 1 wolf eye. or 1 wold tooth

Of course that also involves that you can do stuff with that "loot"
>>
>railroaded into being a boy ;_;
>>
>>34632148
what's wrong, /tg/? don't you wanna be the little boy?
>>
>>34632071
Better. Instead of listing a corpse, list components.
>Wolf Heart, wolf bones, wolf meat, wolf pelts, wolf eyes, wolf skull, wolf teet, etc.
>>
Anyway, I think it would be funnier if there was "loo". You know, more old-fashioned RPG mechanics.

Also thinking towards the future, any requests for bro and/or love interest?

Go with Ellizabeth, the elf maid who is sort of your childhood friend?

Meet a cute redheaded wizard/noble girl at the academy?

A tomboyish monk/villager (can change her classes later, of course) girl?

A wolfgirl, catgirl, others?
>>

>>
>>34632071
Yeah, loot please
>>
>>34632334
What, are you the native american of /tg/? you want to use all parts of the animal?

Having said that, I was thinking that we could have professions like cook and hunter if we went that route

Cook would allow us to turn stuff looted off animals into food with Cooking, and give us a extra % to critical hits vs animals and beasts, as well as rare food drops

Hunter would give us the ability to set magical traps, extra % of damage against animals and beasts, and raise our chance to get rare armor/weapons components

Just something I was thinking about but havent decided on, yet
>>
>>34632526
Heart for divine/druidic hunting ritual, meat for eatins, skull for badassery, teeth for fashion, pelt for badass wolf cloak, etc.
>>
>>34632580
>skull for badassery

>Minor codpiece of badassery
>+1 crotch armor
>+1 intimidate
>circumstantial -2 health
>Plenty of men wear the skulls of their slain enemies as warning to their future foes, only a few crazy enough to wear them on their crotch. Gives you an edge to impress your foes however if one gets close and slams the skull shut on your junk it's going to hurt.
>>
>>34632580
Oh, this is a fragment of the story I said (way up on the thread) that gave me the idea for this quest thread. Its something im writing for a friend

I am now a lvl 31 Warrior, ñvñ 31 Scion, lvl 30 Healer, lvl 1 Cook.

Just a few minutes ago, I poached some eggs off a bird's nest, and after filling the wok with water, hard-boiled them over the campsite.
It sounds like a very simple thing, but Lyann was quite impressed.

Apparently, the eggs (and flesh) of most birds are poisonous, so hard-boiled eggs are not part of anyone's menu in this world.

From what I have seen in this world so far, people don't have a custom of using fire to cook.
Don't misunderstand me. They do use smoke a lot.
A bit too much for my taste, really.

After she told me that, just to be safe, I used Cleanse II on them before handing one to her.
Better safe than sorry, after all.

“Hot hot!” -she was having trouble holding it, so I grabbed it and left it on the grass, then rubbed and kissed her fingers a little bit.

Yes, it was exaggerated, but I love how every bit of my Lyann tastes, so I wasn't going to miss the chance.

Then I had her use a bit of cloth to grab the egg, and taught her how to peel it.

Anyway, it seems to be one of those jobs normally unlocked by fulfilling certain prerequisites, but the gods gave it to me in recognizance of my contribution to the field.
Sort of an honorary degree, I guess?
But, how kind, the gods.
>>
>>34632773

Still, Cook, uh? I can't imagine it being a particularly strong job in battle.

Cook level 1
Passive skills are +1% critical chance against animals and beasts, +1% increased chance of finding rare food drops.
Active skills ...Cooking
No surprises there.

Well, if it is 1% per level, it would indeed be useful at higher levels.
I do not know what the base chance to find a rare food drop is, exactly, but we have yet to see any at all, so +1% feels like it may actually give it a chance to happen.

It would be nice to get it as high as 5% to get a one-in-twenty chance, so I am keeping it as an active job for now.

Incidentally, as soon as I grabbed another egg with the intention to cook it, its weight changed slightly, and just as I suspected, it had become a hard-boiled egg.

It seems that as long as I have the ingredients, the Cook job lets me skip the preparation process and turns them into the complete dish.

That is almost certainly a big part of why there is so little variety to this world's cooking.
The kindness of the gods may have backfired a little, there.

But if that's so, then I definitively want to unlock “Tailor” and make some clothes for my Lyann.
Such as sexy and fashionable underwear.

But seriously, I really miss the clothes from my old world.
Wool clothes are itchy, and fur starts rotting and smells bad if you aren't really careful with it, and even tho I've gotten used to it by now, I really miss my world's underwear, jeans and shirts.

Yes, Cook it's definitively a job that I already love, but I must attain Tailor at any cost.
I wonder if I have my priorities wrong, or if I'm just spoiled.

>>34632745
needs to be a boar skull so it has fangs pointing to the enemy

A guy goes to an RPG world and gets slavegirls to fill his party slots with. He gets "rare monster cards" sometimes, and can see his stats and those of other peoples because he choose the skill "Appraise" at character creation.

Also, I have had to improve my googlespeak to read these. Goddamnit

Nope
But you get used to it.
I did, anyway
Here's some tips
For some reason, Google sometimes mixes the I, you, him, he and she. So use common sense there
And it loves translating Sherrie as Sharuria, Shererieem Seerie... etc. Just whenever you think it probably means Cherry, it means cherry.

Is there an ETA on the next thread?
