"You must help me, Cerberus!"

You refuse.

"Hear me out at the very least!"

Whatever Angel wants is probably stupid. You're in your cozy home, seated at the kitchen table. The ever-audaciously dressed Fallen Angel is seated across from you. Chief and Claire are busying themselves making snacks for the occasion, leaving you to deal with a frantic Angel all by yourself.

Today is just like yesterday, tomorrow will be just like today. Your roommates take you for granted.

There is a small card on the table in front of you. You haven't bothered reading it yet, but it looks to be a fairly standard business card. You can see the phone number in a bold font, and there's a silly logo on it. Earlier today, Angel burst into your home and slapped the card on the table. She hasn't explained much, only that she needs help dealing with it. Something about this smells bad, so you decide to ask for more information.

"Very well, Cerberus. I suppose I must begin at the beginning. Ten thousand years ago, when my previous incarnation fell from grace..."

The relevant facts, please.

"...Well, my academy is doing some small drives to get new students in. Scrolls and ballads, and all sorts of soliciting on street corners. The headmistress requested that I make a television appearance, as I am the top student. It was simply to be a short broadcast on local stations but..."

She nervously points to the card.

"After it aired, this awful, creepy man approached me! He told me that he's been collecting girls just like myself! A kidnapper gave me his card! He must be some kind of supervillain!"

You pick up the card and read it. Tobias Granshaw. Talent Scout, Producer, Entertainment Agent.

There was a TV appearance? You're curious as to how that went. Did Angel go spewing her backstory and personal setting to the entirety of the island?

"I did not! And it isn't a setting!" She retrieves a smartphone from her bag, "Give me a moment."

Angel slides the phone over to you. There's a small fit of static, and then the scene opens up to show Angel standing in front of her Catholic school, in her regular uniform. There's not one trace of her outrageous outfit, and she didn't even color her eyes this time.

"H-Hello!" She seems stiff and nervous. Perhaps she's bad in front of cameras? Whatever the case is, she's shifting her weight back and forth, favoring her left leg then her right. Her nervous habit is making her long hair sway gently highlighting her graceful figure. It's such a shame she's doing it by accident.

The next minute and a half shows Angel walking through the corridors and explaining the various clubs and features of Mary Magdalene's School for Upcoming Young Ladies. Though it clearly isn't her intention, almost every awkward move she makes emphasizes her erotic body in some way: a closeup of her drinking from a water fountain, running across the track, bending over to pick up trash and so on. You imagine that this is what caught the talent scout's eye. The only part which doesn't make sense is the fact that the staff at Mary Magdalene's is 100% composed of Catholic Sisters. Why would they ask her to do so many clearly suggestive things?
>>
>>34627138
"What is this softcore pornography?", Claire takes the phone from you and throws it back to Angel, "Did the Holstein ask you to review her latest exhibitionist venture?"

"It is not porn! I am not a cow! Listen, there is a man targeting me, Claire. Aren't you worried?"

"There are men targeting you every time you so much as breathe," Claire crosses her arms, "Am I to be worried any time someone is distracted by your excess fat?"

"Oh! Whatever, Claire! Cerberus, did you reach a conclusion?"

Would you really do something so lewd to someone as pure as Angel?
>>
You lay it on Angel in as direct a manner as possible. This guy probably isn't any kind of supervillain. He's just an agent looking for new girls to produce, and he probably caught that broadcast on accident. You think that he's really just interested in marketing Angel's body for things like swimwear or maybe a gravure shoot. She can probably safely ignore him unless she's interested in show-business.

"Show-business? You think I could make it?"

You didn't say that.

"Yes, do not get ahead of yourself. However scandalous your appearance may be, you still lack the dignity and grace that a proper star needs."

"A star!?"

Angel snatches up the card and holds it over her head with glee. Realizing that you're staring at her, she calms down and addresses you in her usual holier-than-thou voice.

"I thank you for your advice, Cerberus. While I am still concerned about this Fiend's true nature, I realize that he has many treasures that I may yet obtain. I must bid you farewell for now, my fellow walker in darkness!"

Angel dashes away, intent on finding her new life. Claire takes a seat next to you as Chief walks in from the kitchen with a tray of cookies.

"That girl is heading for heartbreak, is she not?"

Yes, she is, Claire.

--

"I was hired! I'm going to be an idol!"

What?

Angel invited the three of you out to lunch, eager to tell you the good news.

"I..Idol?" Chief drops her fork, letting her ketchup soaked meatloaf fall to the plate, "But you promised me you wouldn't push your cover after you started your magical girl act."

"It is not an act! I am both the Fallen Angel, protector of this city, and now I shall be an idol in my private life. God's blessings upon me are almost too kind."

"I agree with the Chief. You are risking discovery simply because you wish to put yourself on display. How shameful..."

"Oh ho ho!" She cackles, putting a hand to her mouth, "You two are simply jealous of my shining beauty. It is natural that others seek to gaze upon my form and hear my heavenly voice. Unlike you, I am the epitome of a desirable woman. Now then, if you will excuse me, I must prepare for my début. I am to be part of the Star of New Zanzibar beauty contest, which I will no doubt win!""

"Angel, you're being selfish and rude! Now see here-"

"See? See what?" Angel gets defensive. Looks like she was really invested in the idea of being famous,"I'm sorry, I looked right over your head, Chief. Or maybe I just didn't want to see your deathly pallor. You should probably look into some tanning lotion."

Chief looks down and trembles, but Claire slaps her hand on the table.

"This is going to your head, Angel. You should apologize to the Chief."

"Nothing has gone to my head. I'm just finally being recognized for my beauty, where as you have been ignored. After all, you may have a nice body, Claire, but what man wants a woman who can't smile? It's no wonder Cerberus hasn't lain with you."

If they're that upset about Angel being in this stupid beauty contest, can't they just enter as well? You think both of them are good looking girls, so they should have an easy time at least getting into the top ten or something like that. Neither of the girls look up at you, but you can feel their menacing aura recede somewhat.

"You think we would do well, Wild Card?" Chief mumbles and pushes the food on her plate around.

Sure, Chief and Claire are two of the prettiest girls you know. You take pains to not bring up how you only know a handful of girls anyway.

"If...if Darling wants to see me on stage, then I have no choice but to compete."

You never said you wanted to see her on stage. You just think she would do well. Chief and Claire get up with a start, knocking their chairs over in the process.

"It's decided! We will compete in this Star of New Zanzibar pageant and teach Angel some humility!"

"Yes. Let us go to its registration office immediately."

--

"What?! We need a sponsor?"

The receptionist is taken aback, and she tries her best to keep smiling politely. She explains that the entry fee is actually quite steep, and so it's almost impossible to enter without a sponsor of some kind, preferably several. She goes on to point out that most talent agencies work with many such sponsors, which is one of the services they provide.

"If it is money you need..." Claire pulls out a sheet of paper, then folds it behind behind her back. You can see it begin to transmute into a fat stack of cash, but Chief quickly interrupts her.

"We'll do this legitimately, Claire. There's no need for you to generate personal funds. I'm sure there's a talent agency willing to take us on!"

Somehow you doubt that.

You sigh and pull out your wallet. The bank card you've been using to make all your purchases for nearly a decade now is practically stuffed with cash. All those welfare checks that go nowhere and your extremely inexpensive lifestyle has led you to have quite a bit of cash you're sitting on. It will break your bank, but you have enough to sponsor them this one time. Just to get them to calm down, after all. You can't have them being grumpy forever. The receptionist is startled, but accepts your money and hands you several forms to fill out. Chief and Claire take their entry applications and fill out the relative information faster than you thought was humanly possible, while you struggle with filling out your sponsor form.

You manage to fill the blanks with most of your personal and home information, but you struggle with trying to think of a name for the 'agency' you represent. At first, you think about just leaving it blank, but Chief pops over your shoulder.

"Thinking of what to call yourself? Why not something beautiful and elegant...White Rose productions?"

You don't think...

"How pretentious," Claire interrupts, "Why not something cute like Heartstopper Agency?"

That's more ominous than cute, Claire. The receptionist coughs, and you feel like she's grown tired of your presence. You quickly write something down on the paper and turn it in. The threee of you leave the office, with the two girls practically skipping out.

Come now DXR, there's a fine line between teasing the girls and just being mean. Besides, calling Claire a bitch is what Seven's here for.

>>
>>34631463
You're forgetting vampire lore 101. Vampires can turn into wolves. This makes vampires a kind of werewolf. A werewolf is a mix of human and wolf. Dogs are a different kind of mix between human and wolf.

Chief is a vampire. QED Chief is a female dog.
>>
>>34631542
Solid logic
>>
>>34631542
Try it on the chief and see her response.

That said. I like Wild Car Talent better.

I'm inordinately proud of this.

>>34631658
It's one of the classic vampire powers. Hell, it's even in Dracula.
>>
>>34631796
Then the modern vampire hates werewolf meme is just a new invention?
>>
>>34631906
Yes.

But for that matter, modern vampires are also a new invention.
>>
>>34632051
Please don't tell me twilight or An Interview with a Vampire created it.
>>
>>34631906
Well, I'm pretty sure a more knowledgeable anon will correct me, but I'm pretty sure vampirism is something like a metaphor for psychopathy and lycanthropy for schizophrenia... And now that I think of it I don't know of any classic myths where the two ever actually interact. So who knows.

Just don't think any story in which a werewolf has been domesticated has any reflection in the old stories. Wolves, rabid or healthy, are always wild (hence "Wild" Card).
>>
>>34631906
Kind of. Werewolves and vampires have the same origins in medieval superstitions about evil animals, namely bats and wolves. People thought they were agents of Satan, so people with connections to those animals were the same. Vampires came to emphasize the seductive and alluring night terrors, while werewolves became the destroying ones.

Same idea that animal-like humans are monsters. So yeah it's a new idea, because they were one and the same originally.
>>
"Oh really? Isn't that a bit conceited?"

You just tried to think of something snappy. You don't have any mind for this kind of stuff.

"Well, if Darling likes it, then I will support it as well."

--

"So," Chief begins, "The contest will take place over the course of a week. During that week, the contestants will go through various competitions. These competitions will reduce the contestant pool from one-hundred and twenty seven all the way down to ten on the final day of the competition. Those final ten will have one last contest, based on a culmination of all subjects."

Sounds fairly standard.

"Yes," Claire picks up where Chief left off, "However, we have run into an issue."

And that is?

"Neither of us have any idea how to compete in one of these. We assumed that a beauty contest simply entailed standing in front of a crowd and being judged. We were not prepared for an extended contest, based on singing, dancing, and various other skills and talents. We will need to prepare costumes, acts, props..."

Claire and Chief start chattering to each other, trying to figure out how to best raise their appeal. You check out the flier that Chief was reading from. Sure enough, most of the rules are what she said. Basically, you need to make large appeals to the audience throughout the majority of the contest, since they act as the primary judges. You can see why Angel's idol career is going to use this as a launching point.

Well, you said you'd help out, so you try to think of some ideas.

>They should get their names out early, start getting that public appeal. Lots of public events.
>They should practice in private. Become the dark horses that leave an impact on the scene.
>There's always cheating.
>Something else.

Sorry for the delay. I got sidetracked really badly.
>>
>>34632219
And the idea one could transform into the other represent how the seductive could easily be destructive?
>>
>>34632100
Course not. Bram Stoker's Dracula codified vampires. What Interview did that Twilight also did was recodify and repackage the vampire for modern popular consumption.

Actually not sure about werewolves.
>>
>>34632254
>>They should practice in private. Become the dark horses that leave an impact on the scene.
They aren't planning on making a real name for themselves, they just need that short lived attention
>>
>>34632269
That actually makes a lot of sense.
>>
>>34632100
Well, modern vampires came with Bram Stoker (who was "inspired" by works of his time to create his own original vampire lore pls don't steal), then modern modern vampires came with Dark Shadows, which is around the time vampires became romantic figures. Anne Rice popularized that a few years later.
>>
>>34632254
>>They should practice in private. Become the dark horses that leave an impact on the scene.
I just wanna see angel flip the fuck out when they turn up, at this point.

>>34632260
Yep.

>>34632254
Make them the dark horse. They can't compete against Angel on her own turf, especially since Angel has a head start woth her fanclub.

Also, can we visit Yugo? I suspect if we package this as an example of Overed/human integration we can get some official support in this.
>>
>>34632100
Well, I'm not sure if Anne Rice started the how madero take on vampires, but she definitely mainstreamed it.

As for Twilight, I haven't read them but I got roped into watching the first film during a cousin's birthday years ago. Sparkling vampires...massive guilt complexes...I'm just glad that seems to have been the end of an arc and that the pendulum is swinging back toward the monstrous interpretation.
>>

Random idea!

Talents
>Chief is really Victorian, so see if she has any skill with painting (if not, lace the paint with her blood before the competition so she can cheat a bit)
>Claire is a superior markswoman. See if we can have a shooting gallery set up for her that she can run throw (make sure she's comfortable running - and maybe doing some tumbling - in heels)

Dance
>Chief, either some classic ballet or ballroom type display
>Claire, something very modern where she has an excuse to put on a light show

Swimsuits
>Make sure Chief is wearing a bikini instead of some highly conservative one piece
>Make sure Claire is wearing at least a bikini

Costume/persona ideas
>Claire needs a pair of glasses to sell a no-nonsense librarian/assassin persona (will explain lake of smiling

>>
>>34632801
Frills, everything Chief wears should be properly frilly, especially her swimsuit.

Though Chief has a pretty good shot at this, she's noted at being exceptionally charismatic so if we make sure she's looking good and can do all the talent portions then she should be alright.
>>
>>34632873
Can she sing?

I bet she can't sing.

We will do a lip dub.
>>
You think it would be best for them to keep themselves a secret for now. Maybe they can play the underdog or the dark horse when they get out there. But they also seriously need to practice. You've never heard them sing and to tell the truth, you're a little scared of that. Not to mention that both of them seem to have a rather stunted sense of style in most cases, favoring their uniforms or horribly outdated clothing. You have your work cut out for you if you're going to help them win this.

Funny. You've already forgotten why you were doing this.

"I suppose you're right, darling. It would be best if we kept ourselves hidden away for the time being. We cannot afford to let Angel discover us so early."

"What will we do, Wild Card? I haven't the foggiest about how to progress."

You're not sure yourself. You think, for now, it would be best to talk with some more experienced women and find some place to practice that Angel won't be spying on. After all, this is supposed to be a surprise.

--

"You're doing what?"

Yugo folds his hands and leans forward. A curious expression crosses his face, and you can't tell if he's about to laugh or shout. You explain to him everything that's going on and he sits back in his chair.

"...The Chief still has the authority. If this is what she wants to do, I can't stop her. So what did you want from me?"

You think you might need some of his support going forward. Just a few extra hands to help out with everything. Yugo frowns and runs a hand through his unkempt hair.

"Okay, but on a few conditions. One: You must prevent any Renegade powers from being used. Two: You should use this as an event to further Overed and Normal coexistence. Three: Someone better be wearing a bikini."

...Fine.

"Great. You said you also wanted to borrow one of our agents? Who was it again?"

Claire's a bit harder, because she could probably pull off any costume. Maybe make that her theme? Ever-changing idol, every man's dream, just for him?

Fuck no. Angel wins the appeal portion hands down, we need to win (or at least take second place) in this contest to recoup the entrance fees. So we're winning the talent portion.

Angel may have huge tracts of land, but who knows, maybe that's not what the judges are looking for.

Claire is utterly going to stomp the talent portion. She's a Neumann, she can pick up skills in minutes.

"It's been a while, boy!"

Lunatic High drags you along, keeping you in a headlock as she swerves towards your house. She still reeks of alcohol, and her cheeks are rosy pink. Her unfocused eyes are bright and full of excitement as she starts questioning you about daily life.

"I see!" she sounds genuinely interested, "So everything's going great! I was worried, boy, cause you just don't seem like you have a sack sometimes. But you did screw her, right? I mean the girl's probably going nuts!"

"Claire, boy. My baby sister! Every time I see her she's like a starving woman. Please tell me you finally gave her a good spanking, if you know what I mean."

You have spanked her, but you haven't put anything inside her.

"Oh come on, boy," Luna frowns, "Don't be such a chicken. I don't know what you heard but it's really not that hard to make a girl feel good. Claire's really sensitive anyway, so she'll probably lose it the moment you-"

"Instructor Luna," Claire throws open the door and embraces her mentor, "I missed you."

"Same here, Claire...hey, did you grow?"

Claire steps back and puts a hand to her breast.

Claire can cover herself with holograms, she can always hide them.

Her actual inspiration is Speeding Bullets from the Double Cross rulebook, but Kaga is her best fit fot apperance and personality. Not clothes though.

Although if there's a cosplay section we know what she's doing!

Way to use inches anon when she said cm in her bust size.

>>
>>34635048
Since we are fully on the Claire express at this point, my headcanon Claire has a medium sized bust, and I'll refuse to change this regardless of the facts.
>>
>>34635102
She's barely over five feet tall.
>>
>>34635103

I have no idea as to what's going on... Does this quest have an archive?

To be fair, DXR's tendency to pair off or retire our other potential waifus makes it kind if hard to do anything but get on the Claire train.

You lead them inside and call for Chief. Since you now have what passes for an expert on feminine appeal around here, you want to hear what Chief's plans are for the future. She's always been a good strategist, and it's likely that she's formulated a sure plan for victory by this point. Chief meekly pokes her head around the corner at your call, then slowly shuffles towards the rest of you. Her head is hung low, and she bites her lip.

She doesn't have a plan, does she?

"It pains me to say this, but you are right. I have been reviewing some preliminary reports on Angel's performance, based on insider information. Quite frankly, she's being described as a prodigy. An idol that only comes along once a generation. We," she looks away, "We don't stand a chance."

You question where these reports came from, but you'll take her word for now. So she doesn't have a plan. What is she banking on, then?

"We'll...we'll just have to win through something besides sex appeal. Angel's greatest weakness is her social ineptitude! We shall simply strive to be more charming than she is."

"Marvelous," Claire claps, "I will win them over with my motherly appeal."

Chief takes a look at Claire's face, then takes a seat--completely crestfallen.

"We've already lost."

>Try to rally her spirit. They have other charm points.
>Sex appeal? Lunatic knows how to deal with that.
>The only solution is to win with talent.
>Something else.

>DXR's tendency to pair off or retire our other potential waifus

Claire and the Chief need some more motivation to want to win. I suggest offering a reward of some sort.

This. I heard flat chests are in these days.

>>34635451
I'll third this. Also, let them choose their reward.

>>34635271

If one of Claire or Chief wins, reward them both?

Well. I want to go with this.

This may cause people to literally be killed as collateral though.

>>34635546
Maybe, but it provides them with an extra incentive to win.
>>
>>34635549
>Whatever they want
Claire wants the D though. Half the quest revolves around ignoring this fact.

>>34635566
I would say have two tiers of rewards. One for making it to the top ten and another for winning.

>>34635628
>>34635642
Maybe I'm being a bit too coy. Claire will ask that Captain fuck her. Hard and long. Publicly. Until her insides literally memorize the shape of his penis. Not just once, but once in every position in the kama sutra, and then a few only made possible by their Overed nature. She will invite Chief to join the debauchery. It will continue until she is pregnant, and they will continue to couple as soon as the pregnancy stabilizes.

We could deflect that easily by expanding the relationship in a smaller way.

What, where did all that fighting spirit go? You didn't think Chief was one to give up just because things looked a little difficult. She's got that diehard attitude.

"I really don't think that will win against Angel's unnatural sexiness. That girl," Chief chews on her thumbnail,"Is unfair."

You tell her that she has plenty of her own charm points, like how unusually...fair, she is. And that she's so...petite. Chief gives you an upset look, but she seems to buy it for now. Claire, however, pulls at your sleeve. As you turn around, you see her point to herself.

"What about me, darling? I want to hear you lust after my body too."

You weren't lusting. Anyway Claire has...Claire has...a cute ponytail. You know Claire has many other parts of her that are more than just cute, but when put on the spot like this, you can't force yourself to look at her directly. Claire just nods and runs her fingers through her hair.

"I see. My hair is attractive to you."

That's not what you...you give up and sigh. Before you can say anything else, Lunatic grabs you by the shoulders and calls out to the girls.

"How's this for motivation, gals? What do you say that our boy here agrees to take you out on the town if you place, and if you win...well, let's just say he's yours to command for a night."

Your protest is caught in your throat as Lunatic slaps you on the back. By the time you catch your breath, both of the girls are just a few inches away from you.

"I hope you're prepared, Wild Card! I will be expecting nothing less than the ideal of gentlemanly behavior!"

"I wonder if I can order you to order me, darling..."

You're not agreeing to this! No way in hell!
>>

>>34635367
Azure got friendzoned, Luna is still in the quest. You're making shit up. Harem route is the only route.
>>
>>34636998
Harem is worst. It's just a way for bad writers to remove any aspects of conflict in romance and say "and then they lived happily ever after, the end".

>>
>>34637037

Romantic conflict is useless drama in a comedy. Harems are perfectly in tune with the mood of the quest.
