My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. Though I'd like to think that my upbringing was pretty normal, my parents got a really good job offer last year that would force them to move to the opposite end of the country... and that was the end of my "normal childhood." And after reading that weird book that my best friend Mina had sent to my house, I myself can't even be called "normal" anymore.

Charlotte's visit to my house went wrong from the start, what with my sister acting weird and then letting it slip that our parents already knew about my sexual preference... the entire thing was just a huge embarrassing mess.

At least the food was good.

Just before she left, I invited Charlotte up to my room to show her around, and she ended up, umm... -reacting- to the catnip that I have growing on my windowsill.

But at least she came to her senses before anything really happened.

I don't think I can get back up, it feels like my legs are made of jelly. Dammit, this entire thing... Charlotte just JUMPED ME! And now this shirt's collar is all stretched out and my hair is messed up and I can still taste...

...and if she hadn't stopped, then...

...then...

"Ngaaaaaaah..."

With a loud groan, I fall over on the floor and curl up into the fetal position. I'm all confused right now and Charlotte probably hates herself and Allison thinks that we're ALREADY having-

"What, I really am sorry for that!" Allison replies. "You're always nice enough to not butt in when I have a guy over so I feel extra shitty for messing up your chance..."
"It wasn't like that!" I shout. "Just- damn it..."

Grabbing onto the doorknob for support, I pull myself back to my feet and let out a long sigh.

"Is there something that I should know about?" Allison's voice and expression suddenly get serious. Because if Charlotte was trying to force herself on you, you need to tell me that shit right now so I can do something about it.

If our powers relate at all to actual physics (which they probably don't because it's all psychic sun wizardry anyway) we could conserve a bit of power by trying to stick to red light for general purposes that don't care what color our illumination is, since it's the lowest-energy color in the visible spectrum.

Unless it takes more effort to create non-white light because our power is Sun-related and the sun's light spans a whole bunch of spectra and isolating one part of one spectrum requires more effort than it saves.

"Ooh, so THAT'S how you met?" Allison asks.
"Well there was the stuff with the cat when I first met her, but we didn't start really hanging out until I got mine..."
"I see," she nods. "So your girlfriend can make flashy lights too? Do you two make rainbows toge-OW!"

I am not apologizing for that.

"No, Charlotte can talk to animals," I sigh. "And that's why, uh..." I look down at my stretched-out shirt that's doing a really crappy job at covering my bra.

Charlotte's bra...

"...well she can talk to animals and mimic their abilities and stuff and she smelled the catnip in my room and that's what got her all frisky," I say in one breath.
"Oh, so THAT'S why..." Allison nods. "So you're growing your very own Spanish Fly to use on your lady friend, huh? You know, they also make catnip shampoo, I can get you some if you want..."

"I don't need you help for that, thank you very much," I say, rolling my eyes. "But yeah, she got really horny all of a sudden and that's when you walked in on us so, uh... thanks," I mumble.

Yes I've had to resist the urge to jump Charlotte myself earlier today, but that was still WAY too sudden for my comfort.

"Bur that's enough lesbian jokes," I say. "There's like... a ton of organizations that're involved with this Branch stuff. Mafia and psychos and Church people... all kinds, and we'll BOTH be in danger if you go around blabbing about this stuff to everyone, okay?"
"...yeah, I guess it would make sense to keep this all hush-hush," Allison sighs. "Still sucks though, we could've been rich if we went on TV with this stuff."

>talk with her about a thing
>tell her goodnight, it's been a long day
>>
>>34783671
Not a valid reason. If we wanted her to be careful of creepy mafia, just tell her we met one the other day and to be careful. Specifically telling her about the book serves no purpose and creates an added risk, not to mention breaking our friends' trust in us.

See, you're saying words, and I know what the words mean, but in the context of us trying to keep secrets from the magic mafia, the magic secret police, and the magic cabal of evil wizards, I fail to see how that fact is at all relevant.

If you don't want people to know something, you don't tell people about it. Allison doesn't need to know, because her knowing doesn't benefit us, or her, or anyone on our side, in any way whatsoever. It might get her killed though, as needlessly blabbing need-to-know information to people who don't need to know often does.

"That's enough of that, it's been a LONG day and I'm tired," I say as I turn towards the stairwell. "Don't tell anyone about anything that I just told you, okay? Not our parents, not your friends, not that creepy Kevin guy..."
"Aww, I can't even tell Kevin? He won't do anything bad with the information..."
"ALLISON," I snap at her because why the hell is she being so stupid.

Low, but non-zero I guess.

There aren't any big windows where our cell phone has been out of our possession, the only one I can think of being gym class.

Obviously we shouldn't review our itemized list of secrets over the phone, but in that regard it's just as possible that someone has bugged any given room we happen to be standing in at any given time, or is lurking outside the door/window listening to the conversation, or is using a previously unknown clairvoyance branch to spy on us remotely, or there just so happens to be another Blind Spot user in town.

"Remember when I flipped out and tried to kill that triangle guy?" I ask. "That's because my other personality took over."

"Really," I say. "Her boss got whoever did that to Andy to put a thing on her too that'd make some kind of horrible thing happen to her if she tried to hurt me."

Even though he's a sick pervert who was checking out my butt, I guess I should be grateful for that.

"I still don't trust him," Mina replies. "Or this werewolf girl, or any of them. Evil fucks, I hope they all burn in Hell."
"MINA."
"What?"
"You said you had some good news?" I ask. "How about you tell me about it to take your mind off those assholes?"
"It's nothing big," she sighs. "It's just that I was walking home today and stopped by a corner store where I saw one of those LED flashlight things."

I dunno why that would be considered "good" news.

"The thing's bright as hell and blinded me for a little while when I shone it in my face, so I thought that maybe it'd come in handy for you to use at night. Like as a flashlight laser or something."

YES. FLASHLIGHT LASERS. HYPERBEAMS.
>>

We can't make hard light, though.

it'd be more like a laser, even if it wasn't solid if someone came running at you with a lightsaber and shooting lasers you wouldn't stay to see if it was real

"Huh, that would've come in handy today," I say, remembering how long it took to charge up that moonlight beam that I wrecked Luiza's eyes with. "Thanks for looking out for me, Mina."
"Yeah, no problem," Mina sighs. "I bought a red one that matches your glasses so I'll give it to you the next time I see you."

Well we have school tomorrow so that'd be the easiest time to give it to me...

"What, you're skipping school tomorrow?" I ask. "You're not feeling good?"
"I'm not sick or anything," Mina sighs, "it's just that today's been shit and I don't know if I feel like dealing with more of that tomorrow."
"...oh. Yeah, I understand how you feel."

And I can tell that she probably wants to be left alone right now.

"I don't wanna hold you up forever, so I guess I'll talk to you later," I say.
"Yeah, sure," Mina replies. "Take care of yourself."
"You too."

With that, I hang up my phone and lie down on my bed for a little while. This is the first time that I've really been able to relax since I was playing with Milla earlier... I really hope that Charlotte's going alright.

...

......

.........

............crap, I'm starting to doze off.

Not wanting to sleep in my clothes (even though this shirt's probably ruined now that the collar's all messed up), I take off my shirt and toss it in a corner, then empty my pockets and do the same with them.

"...time to say goodbye to these, too..." I say as I look at myself in the mirror. Fancy lingerie is nice and all, but this bra doesn't really fit all that well since Charlotte's boobs are bigger than mime and I've also been wearing this for two days straight now so yeah.

BZZT BZZT BZZT BZZT

"Hm?"

That's my phone...

I know she's literate, she can do it if she tries.

Well...half the point of texting is to abbreviate stuff more than the military and in almost as confusing a manner.

A few seconds later, I get a response.

"Thank goodness, I thought you were mad at me! Just call me whenever you want to come over, I'll be waiting!" it reads.
"k ill c u l8r <3 <3 <3"

After sending that message, I (finally) take off these frilly things and throw on my giant T-shirt pajamas, then set my alarm for the morning. And just as I'm getting into bed, my phone goes off again.

"Charlotte again?" I say out loud as I look at my phone. "...nope, it's Theresa."

Might be something important, so I check it right away.

"The cape is FINISHED! :>" it reads.
"...dammit, Theresa..." I mutter under my breath.

Nope, not going to bother answering that. And so, I reset my alarm, pull myself under the covers, put my glasses on my nightstand, and go to sleep. Or at least I try to, but my mind's too occupied with other things.

That is it for this thread.
Though board errors made the start time WAY TOO FUCKING LATE, this one was still fun.

Beccause of said delayed posting, I'll also be running False Dendrite on Thursday night.

And now for a very short question time if you had anything to ask.
>>
>>34785660

I'll try to get around to watching it.

It's more of a case of it being a classic. It's like a sci-fi fan asking who captain Kirk is.

>>
>>34785732
Mostly just the nosepiece, but that's easy enough to bend back into shape. Plastic frames...I've had a lens pop out once doing that and it took some doing to get the damn thing back in and switched back to metal frames shortly thereafter.
