Finally, it stands before you. The Wish Granter. It's... beautiful. An arc of unearthly rock standing in the center of the room, a heavenly white light glowing from between it.

Taking a few uncertain steps forwards, you kneel down before the artefact of your dreams, and make the wish you've been so eager to make. "I wish... I could meet Giltinė!"

The light in the arc intensifies, blinding you. The world around you fades to white, until it's gone entirely. You're left standing in a white nothingness, with a little blond girl in an exosuit skipping towards you.
"Hihi!" She's waving happily at you, a broad smile on her face. Her expression makes your heart melt.
"I'm Giltinė! Did you have some questions for me or my friends?"

"It's... really you, Giltinė?"

A bubbly laugh, another girl speaks up from behind you. "Hahaha. Yep, she's the real deal! Come on then, let's hear it! What did ya want from us?"

>Now's your chance! Pose your questions to any character of your choice!

The tiny bringer of death's eyes light up. "Nibbler? Oh, I bet he was with all those other fluffy friends helping me out."
She frowns a little, looking worried. "I wonder if he's okay. And I haven't seen Mickey in aaaages!"

>Nibbler is alive and well.
>Mickey and his friends are surviving in the Zone, though they have moved away from Skadovsk.

She frowns. "Mercenaries? Mercen... Oh! Those guys! I don't know," she pouts. "But I hope those meanies got what was coming to them!"

>They didn't. They got contracted out for a few more operations a little deeper into the Zone. Despite losing a few men, they mostly returned in good health and with a lot of loot. Most of them collected enough money to retire wealthy men.

"Uhh, sort of I guess? I remember her telling me some stuff. It was all really confusing. She said something about attempts to touch the "noosphere", to change people. And some other stuff about gaining superpowers and making supersoldiers for the coming war. I think she said I was the best result they'd had so far or something but that doesn't make sense at all! I mean, I'm not a supersoldier! But then apparently Dave decided to mess everything up and ruined their experiments. He helped Papa break me out and run away. I don't remember any of that though so I don't know if I believe her."

>Much of STALKER life has been largely unaffected, just as it was largely unaffected by any of the events of any of the STALKER games. Besides things like Yanov being blown up and Duty being decimated.
>Beard's business sky-rocketed during the time of Loli's patronage, and he earned enough to keep the boat floating without issues for a long, long time. He doesn't have any particular dreams for himself besides keeping that spot of neutrality, so he's going to stick to that.
>The Yanov Station is currently being rebuilt. Despite the horrors, Hawaiian is among those looking to re-establish a base there. Life in the Zone goes on.
>Duty will never recover from the losses they sustained under Loli's attentions. Between the mass casualties at Yanov, the loss of their HQ and the casualties suffered when Dave used them as a delay tactic, they simply did not have the fighting strength necessary to keep Freedom at bay any longer. With the shift in power, Freedom used the opportunity to wipe Duty from the Zone.
>With Duty no longer a thorn in their side, Freedom went on to attempt to secure much of the Zone. All the information gained was fed to the Scientists and artefact traffic to the outside world increased dramatically.

>After the fiasco that was the GRU's ordered assault into the heart of the Zone, all further operations into the Zone have been suspended indefinitely. The loss of a battalion-sized strike force is not something easily forgotten.
>>
>>34786972
>The CC still existed. Dave's contribution was in sabotaging the experiment that was underway when the CC was attempting to interact with the Noosphere. He did so as part of a distraction plan in order to be able to destroy the entire facility before anyone could stop him. Unfortunately, he did not expect the Zone to be the result. He spent the better part of a decade trying to correct his mistake, with the assistance of the CC, Monolith and Duty.
>>
>>34786767
I can't think of any questions right now, but I do want to say thank you, for running the quest and sticking with it, and giving it a good ending, one it deserved, many other quests don't even get half as much as what you've given us with this, so well done and thank you.

Stepping carefully into the room, you attention is drawn immediately to the huge arc of unearthly rock standing in the center of the room, a heavenly white light glowing from between its supports.
Before it, a corpse kneels as if in prayer, hands clasped together.
Vasa steps forwards to check it out while Ice and Viktor cover her. "Weird. Looks like malnutrition. This guy just sat here and starved to death?"

Kris passes her, walking up towards the light. You keep pace behind her while Dave hangs back near the door, intently inspecting the brickwork of the collapsing wall.

Viktor calls out, "d'you think it works?"

Vasa shrugs, "dunno, but this corpse makes me suspicious."

Kris looks uneasy. Ice sighs. "Well, there's only one way to find out. Everyone stand back."

He steps up to the arc, taking a deep breath and steeling himself. He looks around at you all, first to you, then Vasa and Viktor, briefly at Dave, then settling on Kris before he looks back again.

Without looking back, he points at Dave behind him and screams at the top of his lungs: "I WISH HE HAD TASTE BUDS IN HIS ASSHOLE!"

Dave stares curiously at Ice. Nothing happens.
"Uh... guess it doesn't work then."

>[X]Alternate Scene: Duty Trial

The guards finally summon you from your cell, marching you through the base. Interestingly, there's a gathering of people from all over the Zone watching you be marched to your trial. You get a mixture of calls, some people cheering for you and wishing you luck. Others call you a witch, murderer and a monster.
Your guards guide you through the crowd, making sure to keep them at bay until you're safely inside the "courtroom". It surprises you how close they've actually manage to make it, being as it was once just a storage warehouse as far as you can tell. There's a collection of chairs set out for an audience, with a row of chairs against the front right wall currently occupied by a mixed collection of Freedom and Duty members with a few loners and bandits in there too.

You're sat down in a chair in front of a long desk, behind which three men in armor sit studying you. After a moment, the one in the middle speaks.
"Who will be speaking for the defendant?"

The man who'd spoken to you before, claiming to be your 'lawyer', whatever that is, opens his mouth. But before he can say anything, you hear a loud bark from the back of the room.
All eyes turn to see Doggy striding into the room.
"Very well. The mutant shall be speaking for the defense."

"WHAT? No! Objection, Your Honor! That's a do-"

"Overruled. She is charged with consorting with mutants, she can be defended by a mutant."

"It's okay," you reassure the old man. "Doggy can handle this."

He turns to you, an angry look on his face. "You think this is a game? They're going to try to kill you here! You need a serious defense!"

"No I don't think it's a game," you say with a pout. "I just trust Doggy. He wouldn't let me down!"

He throws his hands up in the air. "Whatever. I'm out." He storms out the courtroom. Doggy wanders up to you and licks your face. You giggle, trying to pull him down and make him be sensible.

"Your Honor," the man in the seat across from yours stands up. "As my first piece of evidence, I would like to present this mutant, known as "Doggy". That any person should be able to tame a beast should very obviously show where the truth of their being lies."

Doggy barks twice and growls a little. "Objection sustained. The lawyer cannot be used as evidence against the defendant."

The man grumbles, then moves on. "Very well then. As my first witness, I would like to call out the only other known human to own a mutant as a pet. The loner Noah."

The familiar figure of the reclusive man who saved Doggy walks into the room, his lady-dog friend at his side.
Spying her, Doggy immediately jumps up from beside your chair and rushes over to her, yapping and barking happily. When she responds in kind, they start to circle, sniffing each other.
Then she drops down onto the floor and Doggy starts humping her wildly.

"Uhhh... Giltinė would you please restrain your lawyer?"

You try... but Doggy's having none of it. Not until he's finished having his way. He dismounts the she-dog, and the both of them return to their proper places.

By the time everyone settles down, the man who you're trying to argue your innocence against is standing a little blank. "I... no more questions, your Honor."

Your judge pauses. "Yeah, let's bring the next witness."

Doggy barks, his tongue lolling.

[Following comes a trial some 4 or 5 events deep in which every character Loli had interacted with comes forward to be questioned on whether Loli should live or die. For each, the prosecutor asks them leading questions that make you look like an evil monster. Doggy barks aggressively each time but the Duty judge denies his protests. Finally-]

"That was the last one? Alright, let's get this over with... members of the jury, if you'd like to move to the next room to consider your verdict."

They look to each other, pass a few nods. They don't even bother to get out of their seats. The man on the end stands up. "The jury finds the defendant guilty of all charges."

The judge nods. "Very well. Sentence is death." He slams his fist down on the table. "Take her away."

Behind you, a man in yellow and green clothes sighs, reaching for a radio he's left switched on in his jacket pocket. "Death sentence. Get us out of here."

For a moment, nothing happens. Then the wall explodes.

You've finally secured the SAM site. Vasa is checking out the back with Viktor and Ice while Loli sits twiddling her thumbs behind you.
"Hey, Kriss-neechan. What are we even doing? What's so special about this thing? What does it even do?" She limply kicks the old machine.

You consider how best to answer her. You're not even sure yourself. This one... it's a weird instruction, but your contact left all the details you need on your PDA. Apparently they're worried it's going to be used by someone in the future. Who the heck would use this thing, and for what? It's in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the Zone!

"This..." you pause to focus on what you're doing for a second, "is a radar tracking and fire control station. This looks around and tries to find planes to shoot at. If it finds one, and the operator tells it to fire at it, it wires the signal over to that truck over there," you wave in the direction, "which then fires the missile on its back to go kill the plane."

"Oooh. That makes sense. So, why are we fiddling with it? We don't want to kill any planes."

"No, we don't," you confirm. "But a friend of mine is worried that someone might try to... he's asked me to make sure it never hap-"

You stop talking to concentrate once more. Damnit, what is this?
The usual network commands aren't working and it's blocking you!
You try some of the other methods mentioned in the PDA data pack for how to get around any locks...
They don't work. What the hell?

You keep at it, but... it's like someone's already beaten you to it and... Wait, there we go! You're in!
You were right, someone's already been here. You can see the traces they've left. And you can see-
What?

Wait what?

The order has already been locked in. You can't unlock it. None of the codes are working.

"Kris-neechan? What's wrong? You're making a scary face!"

"WHO WOULD DO THIS?" You scream unintentionally.

"What?! Do what?" Loli takes a step away from you, looking worried.

"Someone's... someone's set it in to fire. But... this doesn't make any sense! It's set to launch without checking IFF at a really specific time, in July two years from now! They've set it to fire at a specific plane signature as well. Only something above... but this size, that's a passenger liner! Why would someone shoot a passenger liner two years from now?!"

From the corner of your eye, you can see Dave smirking to himself as he watches you.
"What? You think this is funny?"

"Hnnnn~ Not at, all. Think of all, those deaths iff it should launch!" He grins amusedly.

Jesus Christ, this is actually over? Good show Kaleun! Just stopping by to thank you for running this quest! It was entertaining while it lasted. Loli grew up too fast.

I dropped a bit around thread 40 but, what the hell is this about Vasa being pregnant? Did I miss canon smut? I thought Vasa was the lesbian of the two and only Kris was banging guys while still being surrounded by the cruelest shit in the world.
>>
>>34816236
they are both lesbian for eachother, even if Kris had a hard time giving up on the D
she just convinced Vasa to try (she did it with Viktor while recovering) and well, shit happens
>>
>>34816312
>Convinced Vasa to try
That sounds wonky as shit, you know that right?
>>
>>34816349
He's not lying though. Why are you hating on my master plan? It worked, didn't it?
>>
>>34816236
There's canon smut Kaleun wrote months ago; I think he linked it on his Twitter.
Kris agreed to give Vasa a chance if Vasa took the D, hence Vasa got a scene with Viktor.
It was her first time and she gave it up to him for Kris.

On the bright side, Kris and Vasa finally hooked up in the final session. It was doki doki as fuck.
>>
>>34816878
Kris doesn't deserve Vasa.

>>34816878

I imagine grownup loli would be a better love than Kris though.
Such a shame she will forever remain as death loli, but at the same time it's good.
>>
>>34817144
Everybody knows that. We got them together partially because people fucking love lesbians, but mostly because people fucking love Vasa and wanted to make her happy regardless of the price. Ironically, Kris was essentially treated as a tool by us as much as she treated us as a tool. Just different objectives.
>>
>>34817242
>grownup loli
Not happening. Ever.

Also Vasa and Loli are nearly complete opposites. Why would you think they fit together in any way?
>>
I don't remember if it was answered before, but what was Kiyiya's deal? Was he created like Loli? Why could he survive gunshots like nothing? What was Kris's history with him?
>>
>>34817425
now that you mention it...
>>
>>34817425
I think he was just pretty fucking good at his thing and probably stocked up on artifacts and good gear. He definitely couldn't have come from the same experiments as Loli, he's way too old. Even if her batch was one of the last, the gap is just too great.

He apparently did like her though, which is kind of cute.

It's more than likely for my memory to fail, but I think Vasa was like, a slave of sorts to him. But don't quote me on this, as I said, my memory is weak and fails often.

>>34817527
>I think he was just pretty fucking good at his thing and probably stocked up on artifacts and good gear.
That is more than likely. He would have to stock up on artifacts pretty hardcore, though.
>>
>>34818272
I don't recall Vasa being a slave to him, but I do recall that he wanted to rape one or more of our party.
>>
>>34818272
>but I think Vasa was like, a slave of sorts to him.

I can't even imagine where you're getting that from. Closest thing is that he did imply to Loli that he would do things to Vasa that Loli probably didn't understand anyway. But then he kind of didn't get the chance and Vasa is blissfully unaware.
>>
>>34818272
Some of the artifacts are really fucking potent in LSQ. In the ending, Dave's healing artifact turned Loli from Swiss cheese to combat ready in just a few moments.
>>
>>34818937
it probably also turned her into a living lightbulb with all the rads, but shh

>>
>>34817341
You didn't see that onee-chan/imouto thing going on? We even used that trick she taught us to beat Dave.
>>
>>34828670
Sure I did. I originally suggested trying that we should try to get her to train us to force an emotional bond. But after all that, it was still pretty clear that the two of them have very conflicting personalities. Loli is reckless, socially aggressive, and adventurous contrasted to Vasa being cautious, shy, and just wanting a quiet life (innawoods?) so to me the most positive and natural end for them is to retain a sisterly relationship where Loli will drop by between adventures to share some of the crazy adventures that don't exist in the quiet life Vasa wants, and Vasa conversely providing some brief calm and stability for her to return to. Essentially she'd be THAT sister/aunt who always has cool new gifts and the best stories and always arrives uninvited but not unwelcome.
>>
>>34815759
Thats how Doges do anyway, isnt it?
>>
>>34829133
Well, with things going as they are, maybe Vasa will be able to sit in Xcom Hq with her baby, keeping the place tidy (because even clandestine international organisations need maintenance) and helping out in different ways, providing it more of a home aspect between missions whilst Loli is out in the sky ranger with her new disposable freinds.

Which means we are going to have to roll really well come the base invasions

So...

Can I safely assume that's not Sparkly, Snuggly, Dyna or Tillo?
>>
>[X]Deleted Scene: Crow Trade Master

You slip back into cover behind the small rock, gunfire tearing into the earth around you. On your right, Vasa is calling out that she's pinned. Ice echoes the same from your left. Kris is still flat on her face in the ditch a little way ahead.
The Monolith machine guns aren't going to let up. One of them pauses for a few moments to reload, but the other two keep firing. They're taking it in turns!
"They'll run out of ammo soon enough," Viktor calls over to you. "Just hold tight!"

You would agree, but from the corner of your eye, you notice movement. Another group of fighters are moving onto your side! You're going to get caught between them!

You look around frantically, trying to find any way to get out of the situation. There is none. Maybe this is it. Maybe this is the end, you think to yourself. Then suddenly, a big black shape descends from the sky to land on top of you in a flutter of beaten wings and old black feathers.
It's the Zone crow! You'd recognize him anywhere!
"What are you doing here?!" you ask him in shock.
He squawks at you in response, almost seeming indignant. Then he pokes at your pack expectantly, where you've been keeping the little blue sparky artefact that Kris pulled from the anti-tank railgun from before.

[ ]Shoo him away, this is no time for games!
[X]Give him the artefact.

Struggling somewhat to access your pouches without getting shot, you roll over and let the crow take the shiny bauble that has so far proved of little use to you. He pulls the thing out of your pocket, caws in what you assume is a noise of thanks, then flutters up into the air, barely managing to avoid getting shot as he flaps away from the fight.

A long few moments pass, punctuated by the continued roar of gunfire. "What. Seriously!? That's all you wanted! THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A TRADE YOU MANGY LITTLE-"

A small crow darts out low from between the trees behind you, shooting over your head flying as fast as it can. It's holding something in its beak. Yes! It's bringing you something useful after-
it flies right past without dropping the item for you. Instead, it drops the thing just as it passes over the machine gun position. It missed you and gave it to the WRONG PEOPLE!
"OH COME ON!"
Suddenly, all three Monolith gunners stop firing, looking down at the thing that just got dropped.

A heartbeat passes.
Then they're engulfed by an explosion.

Would the whole psionic thing have been a thing in the quest if we'd done some things differently such as not declaring war on crazy doctors, or were we never meant to do anything about it?
>>
>>34836731
The hooks were being set down pretty early on that something was up with Loli. Pretty much everyone wanted to find out something about her.

I had some intentions of making the whole thing a sort of mystery thing with the goal being to find out what was going on. But pretty much no-one wanted to chase the idea.
>>
>>34836766
That's odd. I remember a fair bit of interest on the subject, but I don't remember any opportunities to learn more other than creepy scientists and the same military that wasn't being very friendly. What else was there?

>>
>>34843209
