LAST EPISODE: You had tea with guests.
- - -

“Never thought this place would actually be used to make dumplings again.” Star says as she kneads a mass of dough.

“Well, I never thought the Reject Zone would look like this.” You say as you mix up the pork filling.

Rei’s ‘Plan’ turned out to be a bit more complicated than you thought it was going to be. Yurei claims that all she did was told Rei to ‘train her best people’ so that they could have their own protection.

Rei’s response was to move ALL of PAGAN into the Reject Zone and turn EVERYONE under her command into an impromptu militia.

Weirdly, it’s gone better than you’d think it could have gone. Predominantly because Rei’s word is law to PAGAN, and she’s been keeping her people in line.

So far, the plan the four of you have come up with is to train everyone on the use of slime, and just Rei and a few of her ‘elite guard’ will get proton pack training. You have doubts, but a hostile yokai or yurei going up against someone that’s armed and trained is going to have a lot more trouble than a regular civilian.

Sato is beside himself with happiness. He’s been in the work shop with a bunch of PAGANs, putting together slime blowers, new packs, and a host of other gadgets and dangerous items.
>>
>>34796705
Akira is also happy, having turned into a drill instructor, he actually got up on his horse and barks orders to his ‘new recruits’ as he trots up and down the line. Rei’s gotten into it as well, commanding her people to listen to Akira, and making sure that they’re whipped into shape.

Yurei’s helping Akira or Rei, of course; and the Vagabonds are staying out of the way.

Star has been holding classes on lore and demonstrating the proper ways to identify, and deal with different kinds of yokai and yurei.

The rest of the Reject Zone has been rather welcoming to the 50-or-so people descending upon the small neighborhood. Mostly because all of them are bringing in lots of money and are spending it.

Rini and her warren are happy to have the extra help in preparing the Sanctuary. With their help, it looks like the place will be finished a little before the Conjunction happens. They’re already bringing in people to be interviewed and screened. It’s mostly other non-aggressive or herbivore Henge; some inugami that have personalities like over excited puppies; some calm, lumbering nuppeppos; and child-like zashiki warashi. Pleasant yokai that just want a place to live. It also looks like a bunch of the PAGANs are thinking about moving into the Sanctuary as well. Rini’s offering cheap rent for people who help. Half of PAGAN is squatting in the Sanctuary already. You’re pretty sure Rei’s got her eyes set on one of the ‘penthouse’ suites.

Kali and Gramps stay out of the way. They get a little fame for being vampires, but the fact that they’re Chinese makes people want to keep their distance.
>>
>>34796722
Sachiko is pissed. Mostly because, ‘out of the goodness of her heart’ (and the fact that she’s charging rent) there are more than a few tents pitched on her temple grounds. It’s starting to look like that homeless camp that Kayako’s mother’s temple turned into. Still, she’s happy that money is coming into the zone, and that she’s got plenty of new targ-assitants she can practice her archery on.

You’ve been helping out where you can. Right now, you’re making some dumplings, an army marches on its stomach…provided that they’re willing to pay for it.

There’s a knock on the door. Sana goes to answer it. Your beleaguered secretary has been turned into a logistics officer, she’s pretty good at it. Also, you admit she looks very cute when she wears her reading glasses.

“Daisuke, it’s your sister.” Sana says.

You set aside the mixing bowl and go to greet Kaede with a hug.

“Hey K.” You say.

“Hey D.” She says as she squeezes you back. She looks MUCH happier now.

“Thought you were staying at Kuzu’s apartment?” You ask.

“Kuzu found her husband, so she’s moving into her house and stopped paying rent.” Kaede says as she follow you back to the kitchen. “She says that she needs to focus on her upcoming family, but will call me first when she wants a babysitter.” She grins. “She says that she’d like me to be their live-in nanny, to help her raise her newest litter, and to complete my language training.”
>>
>>34796742
“She’s…not teaching you anything weird, is she?” You ask.

Kaede shakes her head. “Just languages. Anyway, I called Sachiko earlier, and she says I can stay with her. What’s with all the people?”

“We’re building an army, long story.” You say.

“Okay, oh…” Kaede points at you. “The nurse with the big…bandages, she saw me get off the train.”

“Reika?” You ask.

“Yeah, she said that if you had a moment she’d like you to come by and talk to her.” Kaede says. “Ooh, are you making dumplings? Can I help?”

“Sure.” Star says. “Take over mixing the meat from your lazy brother.”

Kaede takes over your job, and leaves you to plan on what to do for the day.

And that is what saddens me, I had hoped we wouldn't be willing to compromise and accept evil and forever put shame on ourselves as Ghostbusters and human beings to achieve our goals, no matter how noble they seem.

"I'm going over to the clinic." You say.

"Alright, give Reika our best." Star says.

You walk through the streets of the Reject Zone, which are looking much nicer these days, and head to the clinic.

Nurse Reika is there, cleaning up after another patient. She sees you and gives you a smile and a bow.

"Oh my, you came so quickly! Thank you!" She says.

Reika is one of the nicest people you've known since you've gotten here. Also, she's a brilliant medical professional. If she wasn't a woman, she'd be a doctor in one of the bigger hospitals.

Maybe she'd still be there if it weren't for her huge bandages.

That's not hyperbole. Reika has a large bandage on the left side of her face.

Although, yes, Reika has the largest pair of breasts you've seen on anyone. However, she wears a proper uniform and conservative clothing, all the time. The only cleavage that appears in her clinic are from the geodes she collects

According to Star, Reika was attacked once. She fought back, but the asshole had a knife. He stuck it in her mouth and ripped the side of her face open. Then the doctors did a crappy job, or it didn't heal right. So she either has a massive skin flap, or a hole in her face. She doesn't have the money for plastic surgery, so she left her old position and moved to the Zone.

Oh, and you learned the hard way that Reika is really sensitive about it. You made a 'why so serious' joke in her earshot once, she ran away crying. Then Star punched you.

"You wanted to see me, Reika?" You ask.

"Yes, please sit." She says softly, as she gestures to a table. "I'll go make some tea."

"Sorry about bringing in so many new people." You say. "It's...complicated."

"It's alright. I'm happy to see our neighborhood so alive again." She gives you a smile.

Reika serves the tea, along with some crackers. Then she sits down across from you.

"I...need your help." She says.

"Sure." You say. "But there's no need for all this formality. You've done more than enough for us, that you'd just have to call."

"It's not ghostbuster help...well...it is, but it's also help I need from you." She says. "You have medical training, correct?"

"A little." You say. "I never got further than a classroom. Then...you know..."

"My, my." She shakes her head. "Anyway, a...dear friend of mine is sick, and he needs treatment." She nods. "Also, I think he might possibly not be human."

You blink and then nod. "Okay." You say. "So you want me to come help you? It might be better if you get Star. She's the lore expert."

"This gentleman...he doesn't..." She sighs. "He feels that it's fine for a woman to sew up cuts, or removes...objects. However, for an actual medical diagnosis, that kind of healing is only supposed to be done by a man."

You get a sinking feeling in your stomach. "Umm, what kind of work is this person in?"

Reika looks to the side and down. "Shipping and procurement. They're all very polite gentlemen, and they're always very kind to me. As thanks for my services, they've been very polite to the residents here."

"So...you're a doctor for the Y-"

"Very polite gentlemen." Reika says.

"Okay, what makes you think that they're not human?" You ask.

"Some of the members of this organization have absurdly high body temperatures, or odd skin conditions, or have unknown blood types." She nods. "I...always just dismissed it as knowledge outside of my own, but with your business' arrival, things now make more sense."

"Uh, huh." You say.

"So, would you help me with this? I would be very grateful." Reika says.

> Umm, okay. I'm in. I really hope I don't regret this.

There's a lot to consider, and wiping her hands clean of the Yakuza may be safer.

Or are you referring to the "wash her feet" phrase? It's a Japanese saying to refer to a person retiring from crime and going legit.

You sigh. "Okay," you nod. "I'm in. Just let me get the tablet with all of our lore on it. Also, it'll maybe have some protocol...because....yeah."

"Oh my. When did you get a tablet?" Reika asks.

"Ever since we took in some kids with a nice sponsor." You say. "Long story."

Reika smiles as the both of you get up from the table. "You always seem to have no shortage of long stories. Thank you." She puts a hand gently on your shoulder and blushes a little. "I can't tell you how much of a help you've been to this neighborhood. You've very noble."

You go back to get the lore tablet. The others are there, and you fill them in briefly.

"You think these guys might be related to those Oni we met?" Sato says.

"Maybe," You say. "Either way, it's worth having them in our debt, and I'm not letting them have any reason to be upset with Reika."

"Well, remember," Akira says. "Things go sour, you just call us and we'll bring down the hammer on these guys. We've got numbers now!"

"Numbers we'd like to keep!" Star says. "But call us anyway, or...do you want any of us to come along? Just in case?"

You nod. "I know, but it just makes me nervous."

"You think you're going to need to bring equipment? I mean more than just goggles and a PKE Meter." Star asks. "A full pack, just a slime blower, a disruptor/solidifier, or any of the other gadgets we have?"

"I'm taking a PKE meter and goggles?" You say.

"Yeah, to confirm if they're inhuman or not." Star says. "Think man, think! Just because you've got Reika swooning over you doesn't mean you can let ALL the blood drain from your brain!"

I just realized how to solve Yurei's ghostly communication issues, we just need to build ourselves a Banana 9000 ghost translation device which should let her bypass her natural ghostly inabaility to speak.

http://ghostbusters.wikia.com/wiki/Banana_9000

Tell Sato if he has time and parts to spare to check the GB catalog of equipment if he can build one, as a gift for Yurei for being so helpful with Rei.

Hot simmering damn, I finally caught a Ghostbusters: Japan thread!

...I really don't know what to vote on. Too excited.

But as I've been cruising through the archives, some things have leapt out at me that we haven't looked into or thought about very much, like:

1. Star's weird, vague, dubious past
2. Why the GRORIOUS NIHON ICHIBAN villain is using a blatantly foreign ritual
3. Why the binding effect of the three confirmations was used (another far-more-commonly Western thing) by same villain
4. [Nurse Reika was also on this list but I guess not anymore]

Lastly:
Ghostmaster, this quest is the coolest shit ever (It about ties with Maverick Hunter Quest, for me). Thank you so much for running it, and I look forward to the rest.

"Give me a slime blower and the solidifier/desubstansiator." You say.

You head back to Reika's with a suitcase that has the Solidifier, and a backpack with a slime tank and a sprayer (Converted hose nozzle, with fan, jet, and shower modes).

"Goodness." Reika says as she sees the equipment. "So much?"

"You never know." You say as you load the equipment into Reika's car. "Just so you know, I...umm...I might be deferring to you. A lot. Regarding the medical part."

Reika smiles and nods. "Of course, I understand. Doctors have done that before. Apparently it's stressful, and they forget things."

"Don't sell yourself short," You say as you get in. "You're great Reika. Never be ashamed to stand up and announce that to the world. Be proud."

Reika blushes again. "You're very kind Daisuke."

The drive is surprisingly slow. Or maybe you're just become used to Akira's driving, that someone who drives like a sane human being seems slow to you.

You're a little pleased that you end up stopped at a nightclub. You aren't sure why. Maybe it's because it fits with your expectations on what's going to happen.

Reika parks in an alley and gets out, collecting her equipment, and you yours. She goes to a side door and knocks on it. It opens and a man steps out. His suspicious face breaks into a smile.

"Miss! Good to see you." He looks at you. "And this is...?"

"Hello, Toshi. This is Dr. Harutora." Reika says. "I will be assisting him."

"Okay." He motions you both inside, apparently this is the kitchen of the club. "Stuff on the counter, arms spread please."

You comply with the commands. The doorman spends longer with you than he does with Reika.

Another man is also in the kitchen, he calmly goes through all of the equipment. "A bit more than usual, Miss." He says. He frowns when he takes out the slime blower and the Solidifier.

"What are these?" He asks you.

You look at Reika. She clears her throat. "Special equipment. Diagnostic. The doctor said that it would be better to bring things we maybe didn't need, than to need a thing we didn't have."

The man tilts the solidifier one way, and then the other. Then he shrugs and puts the Salad spinner/egg beater/GB tech mash up back into the case.

"And this?" He holds up the slime tank.

"Antibiotic gel." Reika says.

He nods and puts everything back. Then he points at you. "You be nice to Miss Reika. Got it Doc? She's a saint."

"Oh my. Touji, please." Reika says. "How is your leg?"

"Much better, Miss." He says. "Come this way."

Touji and Toshi lead you through the empty nightclub, up to the second story and into the back rooms.

Then past the back rooms and into the offices, and then even past them. You have to be in the building that's behind the nightclub. One of those places that doesn't quite have any exits on the ground floor.

They take you to a small, empty room. There's a single bulb over head, and a cement floor with a drain in it.

"You'll need to wait here." Toshi says. "Anything we can get for you, Miss? Coffee, water?"

"Thank you Toshi, but no." Reika says.

"Okay Doc," Touji says to you. "First off, you only get to ask medical questions. You don't ask for names, you don't remember names, and you don't remember faces. You don't hear anything, and you do as good a job as Miss Reika does."

You nod.

Touji nods back. "Okay. We'll be back when he's ready for you."

The men leave and close and lock the door behind them.

Reika is looking at the ground. "I am so sorry. But they said that they needed a Doctor. I couldn't show up with a Ghostbuster."

> It's okay Reika. Just be ready to keep talking for me.

We're good enough to perform emergency surgery on a non-human lifeform and have them survive.
Sure, we didn't get our medical license, but that doesn't mean that we're completely bereft of medical training.
We're in the same category as Dr. Zed.

Maybe they already do know everything, and we're just being tested in how far we would take things to protect Florence Nightingale. Voting to maintain course.

Well, whatever, impersonating a doctor isn't that bad I suppose and nothing wrong with doing criminal work for criminals especially if it helps us. Let's just not get killed or this guy killed and hope in the end the GB has some new allies.
>>
>>34800637
Look, as a Ghostbuster and a person with medical training, we're the best qualified to be diagnosing a paranormal entity, aside from a medically trained youkai or a doctor shaman.
>>
>>34800374
Changing my vote >>34800325 to this.
>>
>>34800682
There are other paranormal scientists and groups out there you know, and had we come in and stated we are a ghostbuster and managed to let us treat them we could have accomplished the same thing.

This would have been a job for Egon, but yeah I'd say we're the next best thing here in Tokyo concerning GB. I'm not sure if anyone in our team has an especial affinity to paranormal biology, we mostly just refer to the manual or precedence.
>>
>>34800743
That said, there is probably a chance they wouldn't let us treat or get near them knowing we are a ghostbuster, but it isn't a total chance and if we made it work it would have been especially in our favor.

We still do have the card given by the Oni, we just left it at the base unfortunately.
>>
You sigh. "The person in question is going to figure it out on his own. And you know what? I AM a doctor. AND I am a Ghostbuster. Just because one is the job that pays the bills doesn't mean I don't have the training of the other. That's our story, and that's what we're sticking with."

Reika nods. "Okay."

There's a few more minutes of awkward waiting, and then the door opens and Touji and Toshi are there.

"He's ready for you." Touji says.

The pair lead you down the hall and into a plush looking bedroom. It's dominated by a western style bed, and a man is lying in it.

He's gigantic. Easily seven feet tall, and you already can tell from the bed that he's going to be taller without the glamour. He's built like a brick wall, broad shoulders, probably a body fat percentage in the 0-4% range, and predatory eyes.

"Miss Reika." He says, slowly sitting himself up in his bed. "You are here with a doctor."

"Yes." Reika says, dropping to her hands and knees as she bows.

You do the same.

"Leave us." The man says, and Touji and Toshi both leave. "What's your name?" He asks.

"Harutora Daisuke." You say.

"I know that name." He says. "The scandal."

You nod. "Yes."

"You were expelled."

You nod. "Yes."

"You still have training as a doctor."

"Yes." You say.

"Reika. This is who you bring to me?" He asks. His tone is...not hostile, but he's not completely pleased.

"I...I...I wanted...oh my...I..." Reika is stammering and wilting before this man's gaze.

"Don't blame Reika!" You say. "I g-"

"Silence." The white-haired man says. He looks at you. You can tell that he is not impressed with what he sees.

He presses a button on a remote and Touji and Toshi walk into the room.

"Send them away." The man says.

"Sir?" Touji says.

"Find someone else. Reika was unable to find a doctor of caliber. She looked for someone with loyalty." He closes his eyes. "Understandable, but insufficient. Return them. We will not be using Reika further."

"Sir?" Reika says.

"Do we give them any compensation for their time?" Touji asks. You can tell that he's not talking about the good time.

The man shakes his head. "Inability is not incompetence. Loyalty is a valid quality. Contact one of the others. We are done."

Reika has tears dripping down her face.

Touji comes up to you and puts a hand on your shoulder. "Follow me, please."

"Very well, but another doctor might not be able to understand your...lineage...if what Reika has told me is correct." You say as you stand up.

"Wait." The man says. Touji pauses. "Explain."

"I've worked with people with...unusual lineages and there were two gentlemen...two Oni...who have witnessed my work." You say. "That's why Reika came to me."

The Man closes his eyes and nods. "I see. Reika, how did you know?"

"Blood types I've never seen before, base temperatures that were abnormal, and...the time at the harbor." Reika says. "I don't deny what I see. Please...forgive me."

The man waves a hand at the two men. They nod and leave.

"You are weak." He says to you. "You come to me with knowledge arcane, and intelligence that is rare. Reika chooses well, and you waste time by defending when you should be attacking and showing your strength." He snorts in derision. "I take back my words. Reika is not insufficient. YOU are."

You feel your fists tightening.

The man smiles. "I know your type too well. Self-rightgeous men who hold to their ideals blindly, who hold their precious people close to them, treating them like objects instead of people. You'd gladly take a thousand lashes for Reika's sake, and every one of the scars you would bear as a martyr and proof of your 'devotion' to Reika. You don't want friends. You want worshippers."

He shakes his head. "Also, you're a fool. A stupid fool at that. It's no wonder you left death and ruin in your wake."

"What do you mean?" You ask through gritted teeth.

"I don't employ Oni. Fool." The man says. "They work for a different organization. You think all yokai work under one roof? Idiot."

"Do you want my help, or not?" You ask.

"Reika's going to do most of the work. You're just her resource." The man scoffs. "You're weak. I do not deal with weakness."

He looks at Reika. "But you are not foolish. I will give YOU a chance, woman. ONE chance."

Reika is shaking with fear as she nods. "Thank you."

Your equipment works like a charm, and you are DAMN good it does, because this guy is a very special case.

You aren't 100% sure, but he's both a yokai and a yurei at the same time.

At least, he has a physical form, and a spectral one, and both of them are doozies.

The physical form is of an eight foot tall man, with blue skin and arcane tattoos. He's covered with scars from battle and he's pretty much a walking death machine. His skin is slightly scaly and hardened, and your PKE database pings on tell-tale signs of regeneration abilities, possession abilities, and he can probably throw fireballs, lighting, the works. He's the living embodiment of a final boss in a video game.

But his spectral form is even worse, because you know what he is from that.

His spectral/astral/PKE/Whatever form is that of an eight headed snake.

You are in a room with an earthly avatar of Orochi.

And for some reason, his human body is dying.

How the fuck does that happen?

"Well? Did you get anything?" Reika asks.

You see the snake smile on his bed. He knows you know, and he's enjoying every moment of your discomfort. Fucker.

You exhale. "He's a powerful creature known as orochi. His body is perfect. Literally. His body has the physical properties of a human in their most ideal form, and then some. It should extend to his innards as well."

"And yet, you can't move." Reika says. "Is it due to pain, or unresponsiveness?"

"I can move, but my limbs are slow and sluggish." He says.

"But is there any pain?" Reika asks.

The man makes a disgusted sound. "I am beyond pain. I do not feel it."

"He wouldn't react to it." You say. "A being like his would 'feel' pain and react to in instinctually, but...it might not cause a pain response."

"So, you COULD be suffering pain symptoms and other discomforts, but because you're so strong, you instinctually ignore them." Reika says. She smiles. "That's it."

"You've got this." You say. "I know you do."

"So...how can we tell which it is?" You ask.

"We can guess. I mean...it's most likely fever...but I'm not sure about the neurological damage." She sighs. "If I could knock his body temporarily out of it's stasis, I would be able to tell."

"Could we do that?" You ask.

"If you introduce something hostile to his system, briefly. Or induce a new trauma. Yes, but well...we'd be hurting you deliberately, and I'm worried that if we knock you off balance, you could fall and not get up."

Rather than making Orochi's spirit half physical, wouldn't making his flesh half into ethereal work to make his regeneration work better?

So hit his physical body with the Destabilizer, and by being completely Yurei, whatever physical ailment he has will be fixed by his spiritual regeneration.
Then we can return his human part back into physical form with the Stabilizer.

As the ancients say "that which is what it is, would like to remain what it is". Or something like that.

His physical body would be more attuned to being physical while his ethereal body would be more attuned to being ethereal, and each would naturally be easier to return to their original form than the other.
>>
>>34803330
Hopefully we can enact this action
>>

Well hopefully this was enough for Reika to figure out what the problem was, either because Orochi is such a negative jackass slime is physically painful, or it makes him feel good enough to allow a better read on what his deal is.
>>
>>34803113
The slime hisses and bubbles and Orochi's eyes slam open and he grits his teeth and clenches his fist.

"You...will pay for that...mortal..." Orochi says. "Taking advantage of a weak man and making him suffer?"

He grins.

"I approve." His eyes narrow. "But I will NOT forget this."

"Bring it on you sack of scales." You say. "My people have beaten GODS. You're just a sec-"

"Poison!" Reika says.

"What?" "What?" You and Orochi say at once.

"You've been poisoned." Reika says. "That's what's causing the fever...well...more like your poisoned organs are causing you to HAVE a fever."

"What." Orochi says again.

"Well, after I saw how your body reacted to the slime, it was similar in..." She catches herself before she goes too deep into medical jargon. "You've been poisoned. Your kidneys are all swollen and inflamed. Your body is sluggish and unresponsive because it's desperately doing everything it can to keep you alive. You're dehydrated, and I bet your last stools have been watery."

"Someone. Poisoned. Me." Orochi says.

Reika nods. "With something very very nasty. All signs are pointing to ricin."

"Ricin?" You say. "Isn't that like a gas?"

Reika shakes her head. "Gas, formula, solid, it has multiple vectors. Judging by his swollen kidneys, liver, and spleen I'm guessing that you swallowed it."

"What's the cure?" Orochi says. "Charcoal? Vomiting? Fluids?"

Reika frowns. "Ricin goes into your very cells. At this stage..." She shakes her head. "Your body has been irrevocably corrupted."

Orochi nods. "So, they turned my body against me. They act like cowards, and then...this..."

"Do you know who did this?" You ask.

"I have suspicions." He nods. "Weaklings and fools are different from cowards, and I know of only one person who both is a cowards and who would DARE to poison ME."

"I'm..." You stop and then look at him. "You're an ass, but you don't deserve this."

Orochi smiles at you. "There. That's honest." He nods. "You two may go."

We can still try the Destabilization-Restabilization method.
There's no guarantee of success, but it may work to get rid of the poison since it won't be converted into a form that would harm an ecto-plasmic form.

It's an all-or-nothing procedure; Orochi should appreciate the audacity of it.
>>

>>34803669
> "Your body has been irrevocably corrupted."
Ah, but she's wrong.

If it were a HUMAN body there would be nothing we can do.

However, in this case, there is something we can.

>>34803721
It isn't about removing the poison, that's too late for that. It's how the poison itself fucks up the very cell structure at the microscopic level.

However, by temporarily turning his body INTO a ghost that removes the norma laws of biology entirely, giving him the chance to manipulate and repair his cells as well as toss out anything thta might have harmed him as a living being.
>>
>>34803669
>only one person who both is a cowards and who would DARE to poison ME."

"I don't know." You say, but you're also thinking.

"Don't you have your magical technology toys? Can't they fix him?" Reika asks.

"They aren't..." You sigh. "No. Maybe. I don't know. You said it yourself, anyone else would be dead. Multiple times over."

"Well, isn't he partly a ghost? How can a ghost get sick? They don't even have cells!" Reika asks.

"Well, no. He has a..." You stop. That...that could work. It also could NOT work...but...

You go to the Solidifier/Destabilizer and check the tablet.

Okay. In theory, it could work. Maybe.

You'd have to completely destabilize Orochi's human body into a PKE form. Then Orochi himself would have to 'refocus' himself. Basically, purge his being of everything alien to it, leaving only his will, presence, and self. A pure PKE state. Then you can use the solidifier and that would restore his human form. Then presumably his own body's properties would do the rest, and voila. He is healed.

The list of things that can go wrong with that is astronomical. It ranges from his body completely evaporating, to Reika and you being found in a room with a dead yakuza boss, to Orochi manifesting in his eight headed form and suddenly the Conjunction doesn't MATTER any more.

So there's a lot of room for error.

That being said, Orochi's body isn't going to die any time soon. Honestly, there's a good chance he could regenerate and heal himself over time. He's pleased with you and Reika, and maybe you should call it a day before something worse happens.

There's a bright light, a LOUD male scream, and then a THUD, as you are lifted up off the ground, and thrust against the wall hard enough to make an impact mark.

All of this is done by a large hand that is around your neck...which belongs to a very large, very angry, and very nude, Orochi.

His eyes are glowing bright red too.

The door flings open and Touji and Toshi are there. "We heard a yelllooo-oh." He says.

"I am fine." Orochi says in a very calm and pleasant voice, still holding you by the neck. "Please escort the doctor back down stairs, and pay her...with a bonus." He turns and smiles at a quivering Reika. "You have my thanks, Miss. I complement you on your skill and judgement. You have made a friend of me today. Is that understood, men?"

"Yes, sir." Touji says. "Come this way, Miss."

Reika and the two goons leave and close the door, leaving you alone with Orochi, who is still holding you...and is still very naked.

"Do. You know. How much. That hurt?" Orochi asks. "I have destroyed entire family names of those who caused me HALF that much agony." He leans in to look at your face. "And I suppose you make the assumption that I am to be grateful? To thank you, and abase myself before the Old Man?" He drops you to the ground, where you collapse and gasp for air. You get a lung full and then Orochi plants a foot on your chest and pushes down just enough to make it hurt. "No. No, you will receive no reward. No alliance. No thanks. Not you, not your organization, and certainly not that forgotten god you call a Patron. Reika gets it all."

He smiles. "And a sick little part of you is pleased about that. You helped Reika's fortune turn...doesn't it feel good?"

"However, I will tell you this." Orochi says. "The fox hired us to move multiple shipping crates to the docks and then submerge them. The crates were filled with human bones and the insides covered with spells. She's going to summon a Gasha-dokuro on the night of the final Conjunction. Even by their standards, it will be gigantic." He snarls. "Then I assume she poisoned me, to keep me out of the way."

"So, I will give you this as a promise, fool." Orochi says. "I will not interfere. That night may be one of death and destruction, and you can be ASSURED that I will take my vengeance upon that Fox. But it will not be on that night. I am NO ONE'S pawn. My plans are MINE and my actions are MINE." He presses down a little harder. "I do hope that you die valiantly on that night, to satisfy your own desires."

He steps off of you. "Now get out of my sight, Fool. Take your toys, and go bathe in Reika's worship." He walks to the bathroom. "If we meet again, I will crush your heart in my jaws."

You grab your equipment and head for the door. The goons are there, and they politely escort you to the exit by the alley. They thank you for helping the boss, and wish you well.

You throw the equipment into the trunk of the car, and get into the passenger seat. Still fuming at Orochi's words.

It's interrupted by Reika hugging you. "Oh thank you thank you thank you!" She says. "That was amazing what you did!" She beams at you. "You're a miracle worker. I couldn't have done that without you." She squeezes your hand tightly.

She realizes that she's holding your hand and lets go. "Oh my." She says blushing, "My my..." She takes a deep breath. "Umm...it's gotten a little late. Do...do you want to go have dinner? Together?"

She gives you THAT smile. "So I can thank you for your help?"

She looks at you with a look of adoration, exhilaration...and worship.

> Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.

> Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.
>>
>>34804967
I'm more pissed that not pushing it right at the beginning is enough for GM to fuck us all up the ass this whole session even though we did everything else right.

That's kind of a great "Fuck You" for playing. "You get nothing, congrats. Enjoy reading as I kick the ass of your character to rub it in."
>>
>>34805077
>He steps off of you. "Now get out of my sight, Fool. Take your toys, and go bathe in Reika's worship." He walks to the bathroom. "If we meet again, I will crush your heart in my jaws."
We don't even get to snap back? No 'If we meet again, you'll go the way of gozer?"
What the fuck? Why is Daisuke suddenly a fucking pussy.
>>
>>34805077
There's no way to win here.

Either we take advantage or her admiration, or we be more of a self-flagellating hero type.
>>
>>34805079
Anon, it's a multi-post. Look what Ghostmaster JUST posted.
>>
>>34805077
> Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.
You're tired and you rather have no weight on your chest when you sleep tonight.
>>
>>34805115
Or we admit to ourselves that Orochi's moral compass may be a TAD flawed, not succumb to his taunts, and move the fuck on with our lives.
>>
>>34805117
I stand by it. We still got fucking nothing. He literally told us nothing fucking important, kicked our ass some more, and then tossed us out.
And Daisuke took it. I'm surprised he didn't fucking bend over and ask for more. With all the ass fucking the GM is giving us for ONE FUCKING SAFE PLAY at the beginning.
>>
>>34805106

Presumably because then he decides to make good on the threat now and kill us horribly.

We have no equipment, no allies, and no game plan. It would be utter suicide against someone of Orochi's caliber.
>>
>>34805077

> Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.

There isn't really an option out of this that is perfect...but you know what?

Fuck him. Yes, we have other motivations other than what we always state. Yes, we can be calculating.

But you know what? That's part of being human. Everyone does it and part of being human is deciding when is right to be calculating and when is right to feel and act on it.
>>
>>34805068
>The other part is where we view people as expendable
Most of them are with few exceptions
>and want our actions to be validated by others, our ego to be stroked by their affirmations that we were right.
Sometimes? Usually we just justify our actions to ourselves
>On top of that, we use those that are close to us as objects to reaffirm our emotional need to be seen as a protector.
This is truth.

But really then how should we have gone about this to where we'd be having a Yakuza ally? Because honestly, I could care less about Reika's affections or sucess if that were the case.
>>
>>34805077
> Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.
>>
>>34805057
Odin is a god of battle and death, he'd be a TERRIBLE guardian. His whole 'see the future' thing was solely to win or at least not LOSE Ragnarok.
Thor is the member of the pantheon who is an active protector of mankind and he's also your all-around god: healing, law, fertility, protection....
>>34805077
>Uhh...thank you, ver much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.
Not only would I, personally, be uncomfortable taking that offer, our heart belongs to a lady named 'S###'
>>
>>34805136
We have a Posi-Slime Sprayer and enough time to wait for backup. At the very least we'd end up neutral because Orochi would know the other ghost busters would bust his ass harder then Susano-O did.
>>
>>34804793
....I thought he was beyond pain.
>>
>>34805135
>told us nothing important
I dunno, knowing about a giant skeleton-monster that's going to come out of the water is a pretty big deal, no bones about it.
Thank you, I'm here all week
>>
>>34805077
>Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.
Fuck his words and fuck him. We're not going to set ourselves by his standards. He paints us in the worst possible light, but for all the bad he hates us for, there is also good. Never forget that we are never just what others say we are.
>>
>>34805135
Except that would only show we're not weak, but would still show us as a fool who controls those around him for his own aggrandizement.
>>
>>34805077
>Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.
I'm already outvoted, so… Hey, if we're gonna die in the end, let's sire as many offspring possible.
>>
>>34805175
I'm pretty sure that was the huge thing in Sachiko's nightmare.

So we'd be taking out part of the final boss.
>>
>>34805175
Oh no, a giant skeleton. I'm so scared.
>>
>>34805157

Because our little tank of posi-slime is going to help us while facing the Orochi.

lolno, he would just shrug it off then kill us horribly, and then kill our buddies horribly because they'd be rushing here with zero idea how Orochi fights and no preparation at all. Surprisingly enough, we actually need prep time to take on people like Orochi.
>>
>>34805135
No, Ghostmaster is a pretty cool dude, it's just that Orochi's an asshole. We had a choice of either him striking out against the Kitsune who's doing all of this, or benefits for Reika + finding out about the ultra-Stay-Puft skeleton.

Which is better, anon?
>>
BUT WHAT IF BY TRYING TO PLEASE HIM BY NOT GOING ON A DATE WITH REIKA IS EXACTLY FALLING INTO HIS TRAP AND MAKING US LOOK LIKE PUSHOVERS?
>>
>>34805077
>Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.
But don't have sex with her on the first date.

Second base is fine.
>>
>>34805185
Who gives a fuck, it'd at least leave a better taste in the mouth then spending time in this whole thread where our succeed or fail was determined by the FIRST FUCKING CHOICE.
At least end in a neutral position, not Orochi ass raping us.
>>
>>34805077

> Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.

We should really put Orochi's words aside. I mean, I'm pretty sure that he's a complete asshole himself and views people the same way.

A few of the barbs stuck but I don't think that's all there is to us.
>>
>>34805203
HIM STRIKING AT THE KITSUNE, YOU FUCKING RETARD!
>>
>>34805196
A giant indestructable, INVISIBLE skeleton that bites the heads off people like animal crackers.
>>
>>34805213
>Orochi trying to bait us for helping Reika
>He clearly favors Sana
>>
>>34805077
>yeah

But let's be classy about it.
>>
>>34805203
Not him, but being backed by the Yakuza and Orochi is something to sorely be desired.

Plus that implicitly means he'd actively help us in the fight with information
>>
>>34805077
>Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.
She's a smart woman, and we did help her out.

Are we going to assume that we're so spectacular that our majesty is preventing her from making good decisions, and we must isolate ourselves to stop people from fawning at us?
>>
>>34805196
>Oh no, a giant skeleton.
It's a giant skeleton that's also invisible and indestructible. At least 15 meters tall, and this one is supposed to be bigger.

So think an invisible, indestructible, silent Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man that also deafens you by causing loud ringing in your ears.
>>
>>34805200
The posi-slime burned him pretty damn good, and Daisuke is pretty weasle-y when he wants to be. We have a good chance.
>>
>>34805077
>Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.

Maybe ask if she wants to grab something to eat with the rest of the crew.
>>
>>34805255
Sounds like something Central would chew through every other week. Maybe not us though.
>>
>>34805258

Yeah, while he was half-dead from poison.

How valiant of us.
>>
>>34805077
>> Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone.
This shit makes me want to hit Reika, GM. Was that your goal? Because damn I have a really strong desire to smack the shit out of her for this.
>>
>>34805274
Really valiance, honor, all this other immaterial shit being thrown into this has fucked us over sideways.

I had hoped it'd be like the Oni who valued business, we do them a service and we see a return from it.
>>
>>34805288
I agree that it's a dick move to have the whole encounter colored by one start, but I don't see any reason to take it out on Reika.
>>
>>34805288
>Because damn I have a really strong desire to smack the shit out of her for this.
Why? Because she's honestly thankful that we didn't get her killed by a Yakuza boss?
That by going along with her, and helping, she doesn't have to worry about the yakuza anymore?

Or that things are turning out just like Orochi said they would?
>>
>>34805316
It seems like for whatever reason she might actually like Orochi?
>>
>>34805307
Or maybe we should just wait until the very end of the thread before we start passing judgement.
>>
>>34805307
>>34805316
More that this is her fault and if she ever needs our help again she can go elsewhere.
It's also a bit of my real life bile filtering in because damn if I don't feel like this has been wasted time.
>>
>>34805255

Considering that it's supposed to be at least fifteen times the size of the average PERSON, it's more likely that it's going to be at least 25 meters tall....for the average skeleton.

This one promises to be a big boy.
>>
>>34805077
>Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.
She's honestly being thankful here.
>>
>>34805255
And drinks your blood by biting off your head.
>>
>>34805340
Now we won't have to fight an invisible kaiju.

That's good.
>>
>>34805077
>Yeah...yeah, sure. That sounds really nice.
Might as well get something out of this.
>>
>>34805370
But we'll be doing it without the backing of Orochi, that's bad.

I don't blame Reika though because she wasn't awares of our previous dealings with Yakuza.
>>
>>34805370
And yet if we hadn't gotten screwed over and this hadn't been colored by the first option we would have gotten that AND Orochi's help.
Getting the goddamn boobyprize while the GM wastes your time writing about your character getting metiphorically ass raped and taking it is a pretty piss poor reward.
>>
>>34805340
>this is her fault and if she ever needs our help again she can go elsewhere.
Alright, so if someone isn't of use to us, or inconvenience us in any way, then you want to kick them to the curb.
Going full attack on the first option would only make us a brave fool and that still wouldn't have given us Orochi's help.
>>
>>34805400
Honestly, I don't think Orochi was going to help regardless.

He's even more of a villain than Tamamo-no-Mae.
>>
>>34805400
Dat boobyprize is always worth it mang, and information is a great thing to get away with too.
>>
"Could that old legend, the one about Susano, ACTUALLY be about saving face? Do the games have it right? Were you actually beat by Little Miss Sunshine?"
>>
>>34805412
That just makes me wish he was even on our side even more. Imagine having a competent villain at our back? We'd have Tamamo beat all the sooner.

But you can't get everything I suppose, no game is perfect.
>>
>>34805410
The more I think about it, the more that I believe Daisuke ruined some sort of criminal enterprise Orochi's Avatar had with his breaking of the scandal and it's backlash.

Hell, several of the 'suicides' may have been murders to cover up his involvement.

And just think about it, he just told us about the skeleton. It must really rankle that we saved his life.
>>
>>34805412
Yeah, I'd settle for him being neutral or at least not allied with Tamamo.
>>
>>34805370
That just means we have to slime the Gundam they have and then beat it to death with its Giant Robot Fists.
>>
>>34805438
She poisoned him and he didn't even know it.

That was just her easiest method of taking him out.

>>34805410
If it prevents us getting threads that feel like a waste of time, then yes. Completely.
>>
>>34805400
>this hadn't been colored by the first option we would have gotten that AND Orochi's help.
What part of what Orochi has said indicates that he would have helped us at all if we had been on the offense from the get-go?
He has two problems with us, why would not showing evidence of one suddenly make him ignore the other?
Do you have any iota of backing to show that he would have considered allying with us, a fool as he calls us?

He stopped calling us weak, but he still calls us a fool, and that he will not be used by anyone.
>>
>>34805457
And she bamboozled the PCOC and half the exorcists from Japan right from under our nose and literally in front of our face a few threads ago next to Yasuo.

Still, muscle is muscle, and it'd of been nice to have some criminals who know how to fight on our side.
>>
Slime it enough, get some eighties music goin'... and we got our own 'Statue of Liberty'.
>>
>>34805477
I think he's saying that if we didn't try and white-knight Reika, Orochi would have looked at us more favorably.
>>
>>34805474
>that feel like a waste of time
Then many threads must feel like a waste of time to you, even though things actually get done.
>>
>>34805477
The first part, where he said we use people and we're the worse kind of person and all that.
>>
>>34805498
Not really. This was the first one that out and out felt like a waste of time. Like I said before, there's alot of real life bile seeping in because of how much like a bitch Daisuke was reading.
It'd be more palatable if it ended up more neutral.
>>
All these interpretations... I never got a single impression that Orochi was going to actually help us at all. Where do people get the impression if we made the right choices he would actually ally with us?
>>
>>34805516
That's only because you can't handle the criticism that Daisuke, and by extension you (since you help to make his choices), had to take.
>>
>>34805524
The same reason we want to try to beat the apocalypse even if the odds are completely in our favor or it seems impossible at times.
>>
>>34805535
*against our favor
>>
>>34805516
Eh, first we sprayed him with ectoplasm, and then we followed it up by reversing his polarity.

Just because we failed to follow up with a snarky comeback when he was strangling us doesn't mean we're a bitch.

Hell, Orochi himself called us brave, albeit foolish as well.
>>
>>34805531
Sure. Doesn't mean that Daisuke should have taken it sitting down.
Spit up some blood, tell him that he can try. At least have some fucking balls.
>>
>>34805524
I kind of hoped, yeah. But Orochi, a big bad-guy in Japanese folklore, telling us to fuck off isn't going to get my goat, honestly.
I mean he's not going to help the good guys, he doesn't stop being a fucking asshole just because we stopped him being sick.
>>
>>34805546
Sure it does. Because it means when the enemy is overwhelmingly stronger, we're going to sit there and take it and then limp out with our tail between our legs when they let us.
>>
>>34805547
Really though, would that have profitted us?
Daisuke thinks in terms of the greater good and maximum profit (both for the greater good and his own) whenever possible.

If being snarky wasn't in our favor or giving any benefits, he wouldn't do it.
>>
"Uhh...thank you, very much...but no. Let's just...go back to the Zone." You say. "We can get dinner at Miyagi's if you want, listen to Sato tell his tall tales to the PAGANs."

"Oh that sounds lovely." Reika says.

You drive home. Reika is quietly happy, and you are fuming at how much of an immense ass Orochi was.

Also, you're trying to figure out how the hell you're going to be able to stop the Furisode Kimono from burning Tokyo to the ground, AND stop a giant invisible skeleton, AND take on Oiwa, all at the same time.

Okay, maybe the PAGANs can take on the fire dress, and the four of you could probably take on the skeleton...but could you take the thing out in time for you to go over and deal with Oiwa?

You'd also need something with power, something that could match that creature, so that it doesn't just stomp you. Literally. Maybe you can get your hands on a fire truck and modify it. There's plans in the database.

"Ugh, stupid traffic." Reika groans. "It always gets bad around here, tourists." She huffs.

"I didn't know this was a tourist spot." You say, finally coming back to reality.

"It was ever since they moved that back here and set it up." She sighs. "Still, it is cool."

"What is? Oh." You stop as you see it.

Your answer to the skeleton problem, or at least A answer.

All 20 meters of it...give or take.

And there's precedent! Oh boy, is there precedent.

A wonderful symbol. A symbol of strength, goodness, and might.

Of COURSE it would come to the defense of Japan...if you just can give it a little help.

You gaze at the state of the RX-78 Gundam.

And smile.

END EPISODE 34
>>
>>34805562
Sure it would have profitted us. It'd let Orochi know if he tried anything we'd put his balls in a vice and then give him a nice ride to the containment unit.

>You gaze at the state of the RX-78 Gundam.
Congrats, GhostMaster. You have literally made everyone erect.

>>
>>34805563
How'd we know about the Furisode Kimono?

Like we weren't sure that was what it was last time, and don't know about the Fire.

Also I guess I figured we'd get some diving equipment and dispel the skeleton before it could get started.

After he killed us.
This isn't the Ghostbusters animated series where due to syndication pressure they can't have anyone die on-screen.

Just because we take down the leader of a Yakuza gang doesn't mean that the organization is somehow defeated.
In fact, they take pride in avenging the death of a leader by mercilessly killing everyone associated with the assassin.
If we were to bust Orochi, his gumi would simply come to the Factory and kill everyone there. Or do you really think that we'd be able to hold out against a human organization hell-bent on killing us?

That's a lot of area to cover, and there may already be magical protections.

Besides, having the Gundam on our side, a symbol of science and technology as it smashes whatever youkai are around, would still be a good rallying image for us to have.

We might. If we had a Giant Robot.

I'm sorry I'm fixated on the idea of beating the shit out a Giant Skeleton with a Giant Robot.

We can handle taking out god level kitsune trying to take over the world, we can handle a human organization.

>>34805720
>is the Supernatural Yakuza a separate entity from the actual human Yakuza?
From what we've seen, there are mixed gumi's, and they extend into both criminal worlds.

The Oni we dealt with had mundane guns that would be more useful against humans than youkai, and Orochi's goons are both humans and youkai.
>>
>>34805732

Possible, especially if they've been under the sway of his effects for so long. It could have a big effect on their psyche if such an event were to occur.

You guys actually did get a bigger reward than you think you did. I apologize for not making it clearer.

Orochi has said that Reika was a 'Friend of Orochi' which means that she gets actual protection. She's no longer working for them in exchange for them not extorting protection money from the zone.

That means that the Zone is now considered to be Protected by Orochi. (With the exception of the Dumpling Factory because you guys are...well...you.)

Only Mae has to muscle to go up against Orochi. No one else would DARE risk pissing him off, and making trouble on HIS territory, particularly the neighborhood of the person who saved his life? Mae could threaten people with death, and they'd still turn her down.

You've gotten the Reject Zone Class S protection.

Why is this even a question?

I suspect there may have been a bit too much cultural differance for that to come through.
>>
>>34806027
Zeta Gundam.
>>
>>34806027
Tetsujin-28
>>
>>34806027
Laputa Robot.
>>
>>34806004
So wait, does that mean that Sachiko no longer has to pay anyone off either, because no one, human or yokai, dares fuck with Orochi's turf?
>>
Okay, we need to figure out how to arm the thing, get a proton beam installed into the beam rifle.
>>
>>34806142
There's still the police.
>>
You know, if the Titanic could arrive in New York's harbor, we could try to get the Yamato.
Sure, it sunk on a suicide mission. But that's the kind of self-sacrifice and adherence to duty that Japan absolutely adores.

As a member of the Imperial Family, Rei COULD order the Yamato and its crew to fight on her behalf.
We could also see what happens if she signs an Imperial Edict recalling all available Imperial Japanese Army and Navy troops and ships back to Tokyo to defend the Home Island.
>>
>>34806109
I know it's a westernization, but I can't stop hearing it in my head.
>Gigantor
>Gigantor
>Gigaaaaaaaaaannnntoooooooor
>>
>>34806151
With enough slime and energy, the thing WILL be armed with whatever it is meant to be armed.

Lady Liberties torched burned on the day Vigo was defeated, so we'll be seeing Beam Rifles.

>>34806157
...that's just crazy enough to work.
>>
>>34806151
It's already designed to have a fusion reactor.
We could build a proton pack into the beam rifle, and a couple packs in the body so that we can replace the head vulcans with neutrino wands.
>>
>>34806153
I think they count as people who don't want to fuck with Orochi.
>>
>>34806004
>No one else would DARE risk pissing him off, and making trouble on HIS territory
Just as long as he knows that if he steps out of line, we'll put his balls in a vice.
We used an egg beater wrapped in christmas lights to heal him, we sure as hell can build an espresso machine covered in yard lights with a sprinkler on top to take his powers away.
>>
>>34806157
>Yamato class Battleship
>460 mm guns

Please anon I can only get so hard.
>>
>>34806190
The thing is that's not true.

He might very well be the original kaiju, and even Susanoo himself needed to get Orochi drunk first.
>>
>>34806190
That goes both ways. There would be retribution from his human subordinates as well as webs of debts and alliances from purely human yakuza gumi.
We would only be able to last so long before we were killed.
>>
Do you think we can play the original series theme song on everything we find? To get the emotion power from everyone who grew up watching that show and sees the thing moving.
>>
>>34806255
>We would only be able to last so long before we were killed.
That's never stopped a ghostbuster before. Not that we plan to take him out anytime soon.

With the destruction of an Organizer they would probably experience a severe wave of dismay and confusion and be in a moment of weakness, if we could find a way to take out the rest of their agents during this timeframe that'd be a surefire way to defeat them.
>>
>>34806230
We'd figure out a way. We're ghostbusters, this is the shit we live on.

>>34806255
Eh, I dunno. People have pointed out reasons we'd last pretty long, and I doubt many people would mess with someone who could take down Orochi.
>>
>>34806190
>we'll put his balls in a vice.
Stuff your bravado.
He has the resources to go after Kaede and Kuzu does not have the power to stop him if we make this a matter of face and yakuza honor.
That not including the fact that he could simply have the factory bombed, us sniped from a distance, or any number of methods to have us killed.
>>
>>34806275
>if we could find a way to take out the rest of their agents during this timeframe that'd be a surefire way to defeat them.
The only way to stop a criminal organization is with another rival criminal organization.

>>
>>34806295
Stuff your cowardness.
If he gets out of line, we'll drop his ass. Same as we're going to do to Mae, same as the original Busters did to Gozer and Shandor.
>>
>>34806320
And then we'll smile and take it when the government tells us to roll over, just like the original Ghostbusters did.
>>
>>34806327
Aren't we fighting the government right now?
>>
>>34806327
Yeah, but that only lasts until the second movie when the government realizes that they were wrong and need the Ghostbusters.
>>
>>34805453
Posi slime the interior of the Gundam. Hook up a Steel Battalion controller. Start pumping some TM revolution.
>>
>>34806327
Don't mess with the IRS, nobody messes with the IRS
>>
>>34806295
Ghostbusters have faced worse odds and more powerful enemies.
>>
>>34806358
We need to hook up some sort of proton based laser sword too.
>>
>Taking control of a cherished anime icon.
>Gather the energy from living beings.

We be makin' a walking Spirit Bomb.
>>
>>34806437
Hopefully we won't need to have the PAGAN militia spend five minutes distracting the target while we charge it up.
>>
>>34806422
I'm not sure about laser swords, but Ghosts can't pass through lead so maybe a giant lead blade might work.
>>
>>34806340
The PCOC does not have jurisdiction to order the Ghostbusters because we are not contracted by the city of Tokyo or by the national Diet of Japan.
They can fine us, however.
And we're only fighting against one part of the government; they still have the right to shut us down if they feel we are a menace.

Then we have to explain to Janine how we let a franchise fail.
>>
>>34806457
Doesn't even have to be the Spirit Bomb; If we gather up enough energy we might be able to pull off a Kamehameha, or a DESTRUCTO-DISC.
>>
>>34806537
>Then we have to explain to Janine how we let a franchise fail.
We did what needed to be done.
>>
>>34806365
>nobody messes with the IRS
Janine doesn't.
Not even the Joker wants to fight the IRS. Batman, Superman, the entire Justice League he's fine against. But mention the IRS and he'll be hiding under his bed.

>Your answer to the skeleton problem, or at least A answer. All 20 meters of it...give or take. And there's precedent! Oh boy, is there precedent. A wonderful symbol. A symbol of strength, goodness, and might.Of COURSE it would come to the defense of Japan...if you just can give it a little help. You gaze at the state of the RX-78 Gundam. And smile.

Incidentally, don't forget to archive.
>>
>>34806662
I can trust the one anon who's been really good at keeping up with that, right?
>>
>>34806683
Maybe not this time.

I'm gonna wait until it hits page 9.
>>
It just got archived as Episode 34. We're good.

"Reika asks us for help with an unusual patient of hers, a 'polite gentleman' who wants a male doctor to diagnose him. A good impression is not made."
>>
>Dammit, I archived a few seconds too late.
"We find something Good. Something Pure. Something that brings out the Best, in all of us. Oh, and we put a big snake through detox"
