You've been down on your luck recently.

Your friends have been down on their luck too. Even though it's been ten years since the last Fomor wars, the place where you were all born and grew up never really recovered much. Not that it was any good to begin with: you had the misfortune to be in the middle of nobodycaresistan, with all the great and wonderful places in the kingdom of Rune you had to be born in the middle of nowhere.

And thank goodness for Nao's missionaries or nobody would have schooled you either and you'd just be an illiterate dirt farmer, still wondering why the sun rises from the East and why it's important to have indoor plumbing.

But still, life was tough. You were poor, most of you had little in the way of parents and close relatives due to the levy during the war and other unfortunate happenings, but most importantly you were, and still are, too ambitious. Too ambitious to spend your lives tilling the soil and scrape by, but at the same time devoid of other opportunities.

You and your clique of close friends are on a ship heading to the Shadow Marches, on the eastern continent. They were almost completely destroyed during the past war, but there's a serious reconstruction effort going on, a real Reconquista, and apparently it's going damn well, so here's your chance to bandwagon.

You were even let on board free of charge, there's so much request for everything that some ship captains have their pockets so full of money they allow some extra passengers free of charge, just because they feel so damn good. Plus, it's just five of you, it's not that big of a deal.

You're particularly excited because this might be the chance to finally use your talents for good. In this you've been luckier than your fellows: either because of some innate talent, steely determination or just pure chance you have had the chance to work on a calling none of them have. You are, in fact...

And your hidden talent is, in fact, something most people don't know of. You don't really remember when you started hearing the voices, but you know enough about divine powers that when something whispers inside your head and seems to be mostly right about your life and its events, it's probably a divine entity.

Or you're crazy but sane enough to realize it. Or just very lucky. Which is where you pull out the other part of theology: scientifically demonstrable powers. Yours aren't... Not exactly lacking, but finnicky. It's like the clerics of Ehekatl, the goddess of luck, that just loiter around and pretend to be cats and yet somehow things work out for them.

You've been very excited and satisfied ever since you convinced your friends to hop aboard a ship and travel east across the Crystal Sea. You know you have to go there. You know you will receive another visit when you do. You can't wait to set your foot on solid ground and fall asleep somewhere; your dreams is the best place to receive visits from the agents of your god. Or goddess. It's represented as a goddess but you kind of suspect it's mostly for ease of reference.

But no more distractions, you have things to do.

... Or not, actually. You are scheduled to arrive at the coastal town of Reboldeux before sunset, but it's still early morning and there's little to do. There are very few other passengers you could bother, or you could stay with your friends.

Well, you have time to kill anyways, so...

The ship you're on, the Argent Skimmer, is relatively small, at least compared to those that left the port of Izulde. It's obviously a merchant vessel, about the size of a corvette, carrying mostly spices and cloth. The first, you can tell because of the stinging and varied scents that linger all over your appointed sleeping place, that has little more than a couple cots. For all five of you.

But hey, free passage, no complaints, right?

The second, you can tell because you were present when they checked the goods before loading them. Other ships, much larger than this one, left the port carrying heavy loads of wood and stone, fit for construction. You know the Shadow Marches are a tropical place, but you didn't expect this to mean they had little to no construction materials on the premises.

Other than the (few) sailors aboard, there's a few more guests on the ship. Two of them you can hear talking very loudly in a strict and nearly incomprehensible dialect right on the bridge: a centaur girl and a very old-looking centaur which you assume is her grandfather or something, mostly because you hear her say "gramps" a lot, amongst the gibberish that comes from them.

One is a tall man with bright clothes and a colourful turban on his head, who looks exactly like a merchant from Alberta. He seems to be bored out of his skull and you're pretty sure he's not part of the ship's crew or he'd probably have better accommodations than being with the rest of the cargo.

And then there's a short girl with wavy black hair, eyes way too wide to not look even just a bit crazy and, worst of all, the somewhat pointed ears of someone whose parent mated with an elf. And as everyone knows, elves are crazy and devoid of common sense, something that even half-breeds seem to inherit. She's humming something under her breath as she watches the waves, small animal skulls adorning her hair and black clothes.

You decide to go and talk to the half-elf that wears skulls and may be talking to herself. I mean what can possibly go wrong.

Perceptive like her elven parent, you see her pointed ear visibly perk up as you approach, stimulated by the vibrations in the air or some other kind of elf bullshit. She turns towards you with the bright smile of someone who was waiting for nothing but some stranger to come and talk to her.

"Hello!", her voice is a little rasping and high-pitched at the same but also clearly cheerful and less annoying than other voices you've been subjected to. Her skin has a light tan, or maybe she was just born that way: from what little you can see of her black robe with gold embroideries (gold as in colour, she clearly isn't that rich) and skull decorations, you think she hails from the far West, or maybe even from the kingdoms of the Lich-Sorcerers.

"Pretty ride we're having, eh? Eh? The waves are so cool, the way they splash against our hull. It's because we're so waterdynamic, I can tell. It's the sound they make".

She bends over a bit to peek over the railing, clearly pleased with what she sees. "Are you going to the Shadow Marches too? I am! I'm so excited! We're going to arrive today aren't we? It's today! And not tomorrow! That alone makes it twice as good!".

She then stares at you, chuckling with a very happy yet somewhat dumb expression, and the wideness of her eyes is further enhanced by how relatively small her blue irises are. The light blue eyeshadow she wears doesn't help, making them look even larger and out there than they already are. "My name is Tahenohan, who are you?".

>Yeah, who are you?

"Lillith", you tell her your name, you're not sure if shaking hands is common in whatever place it is she comes from but she doesn't even offer her hand so you assume she's fine with just hearing your name.

"Lilith, eh?".

"Lillith", you correct her.

"Lilith?".

"Lillith, two ls".

"... Lirith?".

"So you're Tahenohan", you give up. It's a common mistake to think your name only has one l which you still have no idea why people keep making, but she's on an entirely new level. At least she doesn't seem to be skitterish or wary in front of you. From what you gather, there's supposed to be less tieflings than elves in the world but for some reason it's a lot easier to meet the former than the latter.

It's especially odd because demon parents are very rare simply because demons, like all outsiders, simply cannot come to this world without exceptional circumstances, which are, about 99% of the time some wizard summoning them. Sure, fine, tieflings sometimes have tiefling babies even when mating with humans but it's uncommon and the demonic blood tends to run dry fast.

But this is beyond the point.

"What are you doing here Tahenohan? Hitching a ride too?".

"Yes! I want to see the new world, the Shadow Marches. I've never been in a tropic before", she skips lightly in place, looking down at the waves as she talks, "I heard they vanquished a gnoll army that was threatening the expedition. I wonder if they kept the skeletons".

She caresses the skulls adorning her hair. They're obviously animal because otherwise they would be poor fits for hairpins, but they're still oddly human-looking, "And you? What are you looking for there? Fame? Fortune? Dessert? I hear cocoa comes from there!".

"I'm looking for adventure", you tell her, "My god also wills it, so it's a win-win scenario".

"Eh? Really?", she looks surprised and happy for you at the same time, "How lucky of you! Oooh, I wish I had a god telling me I'm a good girl too!", she skips in place, hands on her face to try and hold the glee and envy. She however skips on asking you which god.

In the meantime you can't help but keep hearing the saltuarily comprehensible gibberish coming from the two centaurs on the other side of the bridge. You only catch vague hints of their conversation and you think the girl is trying to explain something about navigation to her grandfather, and failing, but you have a half-elf to focus on right now.

"So", she continues, looking up at you with an expecting glance. She's a full head shorter than you, but then again everyone always told you you're kind of tall for a girl, "Are you travelling alone?".

"No, I'm with friends", you smile; for someone like you, close friends and family are pretty much the same thing and you're more than just a little confident that all of your lives will look brighter as soon as you arrive, "They're resting below deck right now".

You idly wonder if Zillis is feeling better, she woke up to throw up out of the hatch, and Lucas has returned to being a worrywart since then. He used to be your "party leader", this Lucas fellow, but he's been rather crestfallen lately and you've taken a much more prominent role in pushing everyone onwards lately. You're not worried about Zillis, she's a tough girl and a bit of sickness is nothing to be concerned of.

Besides, you're pretty sure it's not sea sickness, everyone knows she's pregnant with Lucas' child, which turned him into a serious worrywart ever since.

"Oh, have you ever adventured before? Like, dungeon crawling? Stealing treasures from monsters?", Tahenohan asks with starry eyes.

"No, but I want to. I heard it's something difficult, you need several dozens pieces of gold just to buy the basic equipment, and then you need a fighter, a rogue, a magic-user and a cleric. Or just three clerics and a wizard", you keep staring at the half-elf hoping that she will interject to tell you how this dungeon crawling business is supposed to work. You've been receiving conflicting information on the topic and a bit of help would be cool.

Unfortunately, you're talking to someone who had an elf amongst her parents.

"Eeeeeh? Well it's not that difficult, it just depends on which dungeon you crawl into. Oh, but those where you actually have to crawl into aren't good. Too little space, too many snakes and scorpions", she nods sagely as if she's talking from personal experience, "Also not enough skulls. You need to go somewhere where lots of people die, that means it's a good place! And it's full of skulls! And skeletons!".

She throws her arms up as she gestures far and wide, about skeletons, "One day I want to make a throne out of skulls, and then I'll sit on it and have someone wash my feet as I receive adorers and worshippers!", she claims with the glee of a girl sitting on a cushion talking about the boys she likes.

Crazy as she might be, you suspect she does have a certain degree of experience with adventuring. Unlike you and your friends and that time where you were so desperate you resorted to banditry. It was pretty shameful but at least that woman took pity on you and gave you enough money to reach Izulde and board this ship.

How do real bandits survive? I mean you can't tell adventurers and kickass warriors from the common folk when they don't try to show off, it's like playing the Yuno roulette. Blindfolded.

And well, regardless of how her half-breed brain works, this Tahenohan might actually be a useful fellow...

"So, what is it that you do for a living?", you ask the cheerful half-elf.

"I can use magic!", she claims with no small amount of pride.

This actually explains a lot.

Divine powers come from interceding with a god, they don' really come from the cleric, which is just in the middle, although to the vast majority of people the difference is purely academic. Magic, proper magic, the sort that happens when someone manipulates the winds of magic, is difficult to learn and even more difficult to master. Not just that, but it makes the magic user much more exposed to the effects of the Ether wind, the ninth wind that comes from nowhere and goes nowhere, and is also responsible for oddities, mutations and unpredictability in general.

So she's not just a half-elf but a half-elf wizard. You're amazed the ship hasn't sunk or isn't being carried by a school of skeleton carps. Yet.

"Oh, magic? Well what's-".

"Necromancy, to be specific", she adds before you could even think of asking. Although necromancy is not illegal (the whole magic deal is extremely poorly regulated, law-wise) you've hardly ever heard good things about it. Then again, she's clearly a westerner, hailing from a land full of barbarians, blood cults and liches, necromancy is probably just ordinary stuff there.

The cult of your goddess(?), Ishtar, is also said to have originated from the west. It did spread out, but mostly amongst monsters, and you're way too humanoid to count as "monster" in the eyes of academics. Then again, you're sort of inured to this level of racism.

"I'm sure my friends would be thrilled to meet you", you tell her, "Would you like to come along? They're nice people and all as excited as you to arrive".

"Eh? Is it okay?", it takes little to nothing to actually pique her interest. If her lone humming from before and the fact she's alone is of any indication, she probably doesn't have many friends to begin with.

"Yes, you assure her".

You lead your new friend below deck, where she merrily follows along. With the corner of your eye you see that she seems to have a clear interest in the tip of your tail, following it with a cat-like predatory stare; you idly wonder if she's going to try and slap or bite it as you cross the maze of tightly-packed and well-bolted crates that are being transported.

The scent of spice takes the place of that of saltwater, just as strong and sudden. As you walk past, white pepper takes the place of mint, then of rosemary, then of curry. The small room next to an extremely spartan toilet is where you and your friends sleep, and it's where the curry smell is strongest, although you got used to it by now.

You see Lucas sitting on a cot with Zillis, keeping a jacket around her shoulders and holding her; he's been there since you woke up despite the amount of times she insisted that she was fine, and as everyone but Lucas suspected, it was just a case of morning sickness and she does look a lot better already.

Lucas is a rather ordinary-looking man, slender, with brown hair and the kind of face that makes him always look a little younger than he actually is. Zillis is a woman of rather average, nondescript frame with gray, shoulder-length wavy hair and a lot more determination than her current situation might suggest.

Reiram, a rather large fellow and one of the most peaceful and kind people you know, is sleeping in the other cot, way too small for his size. You don't see Mires around, then again it's hard for her to stay in one place for any appreciable length of time.

Zillis looks up at you with the thankful face of someone who needed a distraction. "Oh, Lillith, back already? If it's for me I assure you I'm *fine*", she insists while glancing at Lucas, who of course doesn't get the message.

The half-elf is about to poke her head into the room. Are you going to trust her enough to let her handle herself?

Yes, Zillis is pregnant with Lucas' child. It's relatively recent so it's not showing on her, but they've been a couple for a while and it was just a matter of time.

You clap your hands to get the couple's attention. You don't even bother trying to wake Reiram up, it'd be a waste of effort, and he'll just pretty much accept everything you tell him when anyways so it's fine.

"Everyone, meet Tahenohan. She's going to the Shadow Marches like us and she's an experienced adventurer".

"Hello!", she waves her hand with vigour, nearly ecstatic at the idea of meeting other people. Her pointed ears don't escape either of the couple's notice, but they got used to being pretty much your family, that ought to count for making them open-minded.

"Hello Tahenkhan", Zillis mispronounces her name, such is her hurry to jump on any excuse to get up and walk around a little. Tahenohan doesn't even bother correcting her, "I'm Zillis, pleased to meet you. This one here is Lucas, the one in the corner is Reiram. Please forgive him, he actually needs rest, this room is a bit small to let us all sleep at the same time".

It's only part true. The real problem is that Reiram does sleep like a rock. Or a boulder, considering his size. Even physical prodding might fail to wake him up if you tried.

"Ah, he-hello", Lucas tries to compose herself, especially after Zillis forcibly removes the jacket he insisted keeping on her shoulders. He was a lot more assertive before, it's almost a pity to see him like this.

"Eh? So you're Lirith's friends?", the half-elf sounds very excited. And nobody seems to be able to get names right in this room, but that's a lot less important, "Oooh, this is so cool! I've never been in such a large party before!".

"Party?", Zillis frowns, looking at you. You give her a curt nod and she understands it's better not think too hard about what she says.

While you're chatting amiably, you hear a call from above deck. You don't understand it at first, but it gets repeated a few more times by the other sailors: "Earth!".

Sounds like you're about to arrive. Finally.

You're still not in a port, so why bother? You also don't have anything to prepare, really.

For all you know, neither is any of the above. You've all picked up various skills but nothing exceptional; as far as you know you're the only one with a modicum of special ability, and you're not even quite sure what it is yourself or how to use it, except that it will all become clearer when you arrive.

Zillis decides that a crazy half-elf is better than her excessively sticky partner and just smiles, "We still haven't decided. So that makes you a magic-user, right?".

"Yes, I'm a necromancer!", she candidly admits, "Although I couldn't bring enough bones to raise skeletons. People don't like when I carry them around in the open".

You see Zillis' frozen smile and suspect she's already regretting meeting the half-elf.

"... Skeletons, eh?".

"I love skeletons".

The conversation grinds to an embarrassed silence almost immediately.

"So how did you become a necromancer?", you ask to break the ice.

"Eh? Well, it's a bit of a long story. It all happened after the conqueror king had fought against the ruler of Solamnia and burned the grand cathedral of Mithra to the ground. Back then, I was still little more than a scavenger trying to escape from the kingdoms of the Lich-Sorcerers and I wasn't going to let the greatest pillage in the history of Voronia stop me from earning myself a better life...".

"I have then been taken under the wing of a cool old man, Afzal the thrice-risen, who said I had The Spark. And he was right! I was so lucky I was born with the right thingamajings to just cast magic without having to go through the harder, more boring processes".

You stop and think as Tahenohan recounts her tail; you don't know much about how magic works, but you're aware that people with innate magical abilities are extremely rare, and their inborn talents are nearly useless without training, practice and conditioning. Most other people that want to learn magic have two options: either they try and attend a school of magic and familiarize themselves with it through magical devices, or make pacts with demons, earning themselves a familiar that teaches them how to use their newly bestowed powers.

This half-elf seemed to belong to the luckiest camp. Good for her.

"But... Do you raise the dead?", Lucas asks, interrupting her with a hint of worry in her voice.

"Yes!", she smiles with the pride of someone who did something to be very proud of, "Mostly skeletons. I love skeletons! Bones are cool, and hard, and smooth, and crunchy, and they taste good too!".

"I'm not sure we can just disembark in Reboldeux and start raising skeletons, though", Zillis, the voice of reason. Good thing she exists.

"Mh. You're right", even the half-elf has to stop and reconsider, "I don't think they keep skeletons around, just in case of emergency reanimation".

"But why necromancy in particular?", you ask.

"I like skeletons".

And what can you object to such a gleeful and sincere expression?

>"That's great, but don't try and raise them until I tell you it's okay"
>"That's great, but don't you have other magic, just in case?"
>"That's great, but what else can you do?"

>"What do you think, Lucas?"
>>
"So, what do you think of her?", you ask your friends with an inviting smile.

"Well I-"
"Welcome aboard, Tahenohan", Zillis steps in front of Lucas and shakes the half-elf's hand, "I'm sure you'll be a great boon to our company".

"Wow! Can I really stay?".

"But of course! You seem to have a lot of life experience, after all".

"Ha ha ha, I'm just forty-four. Forty... Forty-five? Forty...", she stops and tries to count on her fingers, raising and lowering them in an arcane pattern until she just gives up and smiles again, "Forty-four".

That's twice as old as your friends at the very least, and she probably looks younger. Fucking half-elves.

"We're not in the best of our conditions", Zillis admits but bearing a confident smile, "And I admit we've been a little desperate in the past, but you have plenty of marketable abilities. Tell you what, do you need helpers and assistants? We can gladly work for you".

"H-hey, Zillis! Wait", Lucas gathers his courage to try and make her lover reconsider, "We just met her! I mean she's good and... Very good", he flashes her an embarrassed smile to try and placate her, albeit the half-elf doesn't seem to have perceived any offense, "But are you sure we shouldn't-".

"Beggars can't be choosers, darling. Or did you forget we need to make money?".

She smiles at him with a look full of love... To an outside observer that can't read the atmosphere. Lucas is forced to sigh and agree; even in his better, more assertive days, he still couldn't face Zillis when she's this set. The girl can be as stubborn as a dwarf out to get his socks from beneath the foot of a wyvern.

"Do you have any other magic, by the way?", you ask.

"Mh... I have some of those so-called utility spells that I need for necromancy", she pauses, then smiles, "Oh! And I can repair living things too. A bit. As long as it's not too complicated".

Could it be because of the time? I'm sincerely new to all this, I practically started blind and it's actually getting late for me, so I'll be wrapping up soon.

Anyways, writing...
>>
>>34870660
Might be. I just found the quest myself at any rate. Might be the kinda schizophrenic feel of the quest: first I thought it was a magical girl quest because of your name, then generic fantasy, then we're suddenly a futa tiefling. I mean, I'm not complaining but it makes a difference in how many people who'd like this quest will actually check it out, especially with some dumb votes early on making them think it's gonna get trolled to death.
>>
>>34870660
Don't worry, Magical Princess, just get a fucking trip.
>>
"I think Zillis has a point. We didn't know what we'd do in Reboldeux in the first place", you smile and tentatively caress Tahenohan's hair, "Now at least we have a plan".

The half-elf reacts positively and smiles with the altruistic happiness that can only come from knowing you're being of use to someone else, "Oh please! I'm going to blush! You're going to make my face turn red!".

"Though I have to wonder...", you muse, frowning a little as you stare at the half-elf, "How do you make money with necromancy?".

Zillis and Lucas both freeze at the realization that neither of them gave the matter the thought it deserved. The problem is, so does Tahenohan. For a short while, only Reiram's snoring breaks the awkward silence.

"I... Uh... Can mend bones? People usually pay for that".

"Can you do that for the living, too?", you ask.

"Yeah, it usually works".

Although you don't like the sound of that "usually", you have to admit it's something. You actually have no idea what magic users do for a living other than... Well, magic, you guess. There's few of them and the few that develop significant powers are invariably oddballs, so it's probably adventuring and murdering monsters to steal their treasures, something that could be a bit outside of your possibilities right now.

That is, unless you just happen to stumble upon a fighter and a rogue; you guess you could count as a cleric yourself, so that would make for an adventuring party, right? Or maybe you need two more clerics? You're not sure who to trust on that.

You look at Zillis, who shrugs with an expression that reads "good enough". You look at Lucas, and he decides to agree as well. Like his lover said moments ago, beggars can't be choosers.

"By the way", you then ask the half-elf, "Can you teach me magic?".

I probably shouldn't have given a choice that open that early. That was really a blunder of mine. Still, I personally don't think having a futa protagonist means the quest can't be taken "seriously", unless I just fuck up more. I mean, it's supposed to be laid back in the first place.

Tahenohan stares at you with a somewhat dull, if happy, expression while Lucas and Zillis stare at you like you've gone crazy. Admittedly, having someone with elven ancestry teach you anything is tantamount to asking a frothing from the mouth insane dude to teach you embroidery.

Hopefully all this "elves are crazy and have no common sense" thing is a bit blown out of proportions, or at least half-elves get off better than that.

"You don't look like you have The Spark", she claims after staring at your chest for a while. Even if you wanted to, you sincerely can't get your hopes up, it was pretty clear she was trying to stare into your heart. "I could try and teach you to animate skeletons though. You can help me with the preparations and, if you're very good, maybe you'll just... Learn to do magic?".

She doesn't sound sure herself. Another thing you know about magic is that, while magic schools do exist, there is no agreed upon method of teaching said craft. And none of those experimented seem to work reliably. You may be able to learn magic if you do as she says, or maybe not, and she likely has no idea how to teach you in the first place.

Still, if you wish to, why not try? I mean you've already agreed to get your friends to help a half-elf necromancer you just met to set up a shop of sorts and make money in a place you've never been before. Also, you're currently broke, what could you possibly lose?

Looking out of the hatch, you see that the coastline is growing closer and closer. It's going to be time for disembarking soon.

Completely virgin to QMing. Sorry that it's showing so hard. And god the 2000 characters limit is a nightmare to me.

Though it's probably a good thing, I'm known for being a very slow starter and having an excessively flowery and long-winded style, learning to be brief and to the point can't do me anything but good.

>"Do you have contacts in Reboldeux, Tahenohan?"
Let's find this out first. Then:
>"What were you planning on doing when you arrived here, Tahenohan?"

So is the morning sickness and related issues just making Zillis very annoyed and grumpy at Lucas or is she usually this...non-loving?

Also we need to make a nickname for Tahenohan quickly, it's gonna be a pain to write. Just Tahe maybe?
>>
>>34871172
You've grown up together with Lucas and Zillis. They've always been like this, pretty much. Zillis is just being a bit cold because she's a little prideful and doesn't want to be followed around like a baby. Lucas is suddenly treating her like she's made of brittle glass just because she's pregnant. This pisses her off.

It's nothing serious at all, they'll sort it out. I mean what's a couple without fights.
>>
>>34871117

>>
>>34871117
>"Do you have contacts in Reboldeux, Tahenohan?"
>"Where should we go from here, Zillis?"
She seems the smarter person around.
>>
"By the way... Tah", you're not sure how to shorten her name, but as long as she doesn't complain it's probably fine, right? You stroke her hair before and she looked happy, after all, "Is there anyone you know in Reboldeux? Or someone that's waiting for you?".

"What's a Reboldeux?".

Oh dear.

Reboldeux is the only town that survived the Fomor war that thrashed the Shadow Marches so hard the landscape itself changed. It did by virtue of being just too far from the conflict, pretty much. Right now it's the only port facing the Crystal Sea and it's seeing an unprecedented traffic of people, goods and building materials. It's likely to be full of the brim like it's a perpetual festival when you arrive.

But you can't muster the strength to explain this to what is supposed to be your employer. You see Lucas facepalming behind her and can't really blame him.

"... Nevermind. What were you planning to do when you arrived?", you try to change topic, surely she's capable of planning.

"Mh... I'm not sure. I think I can make some money by selling the trinkets I brought with me", and she searches for something beneath her robes, pulling out a black and red leather bag, the leather itself belonging to an exotic animal you can't identify and that is probably worth a good coin on its own. She pulls the strings open to reveal... A disordered collection of junk, bone talismans and- wow, something was shining, maybe she even has a gemstone or two in there, you can't really tell with the speed at which she's rummaging.

"And then we can open up a shop of some sort?", you suggest.

Tahenohan looks up with a smile, "Yes! Yeah, that sounds good!".

You look at Zillis for confirmation and she nods, "Making some quick coin will be good for us. We need some breathing room, I can either help you or work for a common room at an inn so we at least have a place to sleep. Once we have the basics on, we can start actually planning for our future".

Things are looking better already.

Thank you for bearing with me in my first awkward attempt at running a quest.

It's got pretty late for me, but I think this is a good moment to stop.

If you would like to eventually continue this laid-back adventure where not much might happen, I have set up a twitter account, @MagicalMarquise, where I will post the date for our next session.

Unfortunately I work irregular hours and don't have much advance warning about my free time. Indicatively speaking, we should be able to run next friday, starting between 21:00 and 22:00 GMT+1 and running until I drop asleep. Still, watch the twitter just to be sure.

I'll stick around a bit before going to bed. Any questions, impressions, criticisms, insults and whatnot? And before you ask no, I'm sorry, I won't be drawfagging, I'm so bad at it I make real artists have accidents when I try. I'm not even kidding.
>>
>>34871779
Alright, will you get added to the directory? Would be convenient.

Your writing seems pretty solid, especially making characters feel entertaining and interesting, as well as being very technically good. As was mentioned, you probably shot yourself in the foot a little by first having chargen and then accepting the futa MC, but it shouldn't be a big long-term problem (hopefully). I liked it quite a bit at least, thanks for running!
>>
>>34871779
Thanks for running, it was fun. Do you have any plans or ideas for what'll happen or running on impulse? Not like, big bad, final showdown mapped out, just do you have a plot hook or something prepared in Reboldeux or not? Either is fine, would just be nice to know which direction the quest'll go.

Also you realize anons are totally gonna waifu the shit out of that Necromancer right? Half-Elf, tanned, peppy, never stood a chance.

Yes, I did fuck up chargen big time. Fortunately, I didn't plan it to be tremendously important right now, and I wanted to first see if there was any interest or if this got anywhere before adding layers of complexity such as actual stats and stuff.

Still, maybe I'm too laid back, but I'm personally not worried about the futa MC. If people will want to get lewd later on, it will matter; if they don't, it'll just be a note on the character. I mean eh, there's weirder stuff in the world, and at least your girldick isn't trying to eat people.

How do I go around getting added to the quest directory, anyways? I don't know if I mentioned it already but I really did come in blind.

Anon, I'm a virgin QM, but even I know that if I rrn a quest on /tg/ I have to expect rampant waifuing.

And yes, I actually do have something planned out. Not much, since until today I had no idea what would happen at all, but I do have some plans.

Also this quest is actually loosely connected to a tabletop game I'm running, so it's going to be fun seeing what kind of material I can dig up, or how my setting gets fleshed out
>>
>>34871957
Just post your twitter in QTG. Directory-anon might not be around right now though, but if you post it there someone will probably tell him to add you when he does show

I've found using quests to try out settings or brainstorm plot for tabletop games can work quite well, so good luck on that. Hopefully you'll keep running for a while.

Have you read a lot of quests then?

A friend of mine ran Exalted Quest right on this board. I've been lamenting my lack of ludicrous amounts of continuous free time for a while and wondered if I could ever try and running something on my own.

Today I happened to be home alone with no available friends to hang out with on sunday (it will hardly happen again, unfortunately for this quest) so I went "fuck it, now or never", and I tried.

I remember I also read an old Strike Witches quest, the one with the pilot protagonist, and liked it a lot. Unfortunately I have a hard time following even just one quest entirely, let alone contributing, but there are some that I do like.
>>
>>34872249
Oh, I enjoyed Exalted Quest. Well, either way, I'm sure you'll pick things up as you go along.
>>
>>34872239
I know I like to give my players a lot of freedom and try to be open to lots of things, but even if I absolutely don't mind futa and stuff, this isn't CoC: The Quest. Whatever length you will end up deciding for our dickgirl, it will have to be something reasonable so that it can slip in the background when not needed.

Also, don't expect me to actually write porn. I'm sorry, it's just not my thing.I won't get mad if someone else wants to, though. Freedom to do derivative works and all that
>>
>>34872249
You know Exalted QM?

Neat.
>>
>>34872483
That's okay, anons are usually happy just waifuing and making up the details in their heads anyway.

are you archiving? I could give it a shot I guess but I've never tried before either, and am shit at descriptions.
>>
>>34872483
>Whatever length you will end up deciding for our dickgirl, it will have to be something reasonable so that it can slip in the background when not needed.
So, lets say that She's a foot long and it retracts totally when Lillith isn't aroused
>>
>>34872483
Many anons don't even care for the porn. They just want to self-insert into a relationship to make up for their crushing loneliness. Fade-to-blacks usually work well enough.
>>
>>34872483
Just veto it as 'normal-sized' honestly, whether it's 4 or 8 inches isn't very important at all.
>>
>>34872638
This, fade to black.

I see it's archived so I'll go sleep. Thanks for the thread!
