Opening; Pegasus Fantasy!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqKCXeGW54Q
>You better watch it!

Today we run:
>The City of Light (XI)= Opening Hand!

With a valiant step your team enters the museum. Even now you still think that your mismatched group is a strange one. Truly whatever fate brought the son of the War God- Eden, the stoic homunculus- Versa, the alchemist of justice- Vivianca, and finally you. Kouga of Black Pegasus, together is truly a bizarre one.

But honestly, if it means meeting your partners again, you really don’t mind a fate like yours, because you feel truly blessed to have made the friends you have.

Looking back to when you used to live in that dark and damp cave, you feel you have come really far.

That’s why your heart grows heavy the moment you truly step into the Louvre.

The entrance to the museum has not changed. The same works of art adorn the white regal walls of the establishment, ancient statues, old paintings and modern works from all over the work mix together to paint a vivid picture of the creativity that has always possessed since time immemorial.

If you look to your left, even the same exhibition hall that holds the Grimoire remains the same.

No, what is worries you is not this place,it’s what will happen, it’s what you will start right now. With each step you take inside the museum, you feel a noose tightening around your neck and your feet become stiffened.

If you do this, there is no going back, you have to retrieve the Grimoire to save the city or die trying… and that’s the problem, you are honestly worried about BT and Eden… and even about Vivi. How weird, you honestly never fought with someone you really cared about, and now merely thinking about what might happen… feels terrifying.

It feels like a heavy weight that can easily crush your heart, but you know you can’t run away. You are a Saint, someone as Vivi likes to say that fights for justice.

In the end, you can’t turn back… so what do you do?
>Go meet your contact, the Curator in the Museum.
>Change of plans, blitz the grimoire and steal it.
>Is that someone you know? Why is Al here?

WISE UP: CITY OF LIGHT (again)

Just a friendly reminder, in this city of light the demons and the darkness they represent shall not be tolerated, that’s why you will not be able to contact that friend of yours Child of Man. So instead, we, who represents the will of the God of Light and Order, will take over this duty momentarily and help you.

Child of Man, if you find yourself lost or with a inquiry during your remaining time in the city, please do not hesitate to ask, for I promise to answer. Remember that as a servant of my most glorious lord, my tongue is only allowed to speak the truth and only the truth, I hope you grow to understand the value of that virtue of ours.

>Signed, the Foundation.

PS: With my greatest lamentations, I must announce that I will be forced to terminate my services towards your person, soon. It appears that soon our respective paths will become incompatible. Sadly, it seems that you are deeply set in your path, Child of Man. I truly hope you find salvation in it.
>>
WISE UP: The Weapons of my Enemies/ Holy Relics.

The Keys of Exorcism, the Holy Cross that banishes Evil, the Shield of the Faithful, the Answers to all Prayers, these items go by many names but in the end these items all do the same thing, they crush those who dare oppose my enemy, the God of Order.

It looks like you might be involved with the Holy Church soon, so I feel it might help you to go over the basics on how to deal with them, starting with their main weapons of all agents of the church, the holy relics they wield.

These weapons may look line normal swords or spears, but in reality are talismans imbued with the light of the god they represent, and serve as an extension of his will, and enforce his law and order upon the world when they are used. Not only that, but these holy relics have special properties that negate regeneration, bypass defenses, heal the injured, and some can even exorcise curses and magic.

Needless to say, they are the greatest bane of demons like me, but you also have to be careful. Even if you can try to emulate using the light, Kouga, you shall always be a child of darkness, and the holy relics will always have a dangerous effect on you.

Please keep that in mind if you face one of the servants of my enemy.

>Signed, Silber, who is running around the underworld because the Old Man is missing.

“Okay, guys let’s look for the curator.” From what you understand the curator’s office is not that far from the northern entrance and the hall with the Grimoire, which is good, but to say that this placement is not suspicious would be a terrible lie.

So you easily find the old wooden door to the small office with no problems. The office is located under a cramp hole under a staircase, discretely parted from the halls that would get congested with tourists in the summer.

Outside the office you could see ancient masks, imitation of Egyptian hieroglyphs and all other random stuff that would fit more in a history museum rather than in this one, but you like it. After all you are use to the smell of old things.

But there is something else you notice, down the western hall (and not near the grimoire, you note), you see Al talking with the man you saw yesterday, that Leonard Bradley. Now that you are noticing him, you can smell the thick scent of ash that clings to that man, and now your head hurts.

While you know you have to talk to the curator here, you are also curious about what Al is doing in the museum, and why he would be talking to someone like Leonard, maybe Al likes the smell of cinder and ash? You think you remember the two talked yesterday… so maybe it’s nothing and they just became friends?

But… you feel that Leonard might be involved in this, and leaving Al with him worries you. So what do you do, Saint of Black Pegasus?

>Ignore AL for now, go meet the Curator.
>Take a detour, everyone should go and greet Al and Leo.

While meeting the curator is important, you feel that you shouldn’t just leave Al with that Leonard. For some reason you don’t feel you can trust the man who smells like ash, and honestly, you would feel like greeting Al again.

“Guys, can we take a small detour? I want to meet someone.” You just turn around instantly and go rush out of the dark corner the curator’s office and run down the hallway towards your gentlemanly friend.

Your team is forced to run behind you, and while you feel bad about this, you know you can’t just leave Alfred alone with someone from the church.

Really who knows what this guy could do to Al.

“If you want to travel around, you might want to come and join me, missionary work is not that bad, and you get to travel all around the world and meet people, so what do you say?” No weird cult talk, no malevolent speeches… who knew, the mysterious ash-smelling man is just talking about something normal.

“A-“ Al starts to talk, but then his eyes meet’s yours, and the gentlemanly Alfred smiles at you, “Oh, nice to see you Kouga, what are you doing here?”

Leonard just waves his hand at you meekly, barely acknowledging your existence, and you do your best to ignore Eden’s glare as your friends catch up.

So what do you do? You feel you want to get Al away from this guy, but… that would be a horrible waste of time.
>Just greet and go, you can trust Al to take care of himself.
>Talk to Al, maybe you can distract him a bit until Leonard goes away.
>Ask Al to join you, he can meet the Curator with you.

Seeing your friends arriving behind you, Al quickly moves to greet them and engages them in conversation. If there is one thing to admire about your new gentlemanly friend, is how charismatic he is.

Al is so good, that he even manages to get Versa to smile and Eden to meekly answer his questions. Maybe you should take some time off and sit with Al one day, maybe he could teach you how to be as charismatic or something.
>You want to become a gentleman too.

But for the moment you take the opportunity to get closer to Leonard, ignore the thick smell of ash that permeates the man, and ask him a simple question, “What are you doing here?”

Now that you take the time to notice, the man looks tired, bags are formed under his eyes, and his hair looks pasty and dirty, and his posture is al lazy and unguarded, but still the man musters some of his remaining energy, and somehow manages to respond to you, “Ah.. I already told you, I am still waiting for my friend, that woman has never been very punctual, so I have to keep waiting. Knowing her, she will come here or at least, send someone.”

His friend, Leonard told you the story of his old friend, the one who eventually became a monster because of his hate… and thinking about it, you are sure that Leonard is not here to forgive that friend, right? But you don’t have time to waste on this man who smells like smoke, you simply thank him, and turn back to talk to Al for a few moments.

You try to ask what Al is doing here, but the gentleman dodges your questions with an “I am sightseeing,” and just wastes time with talking about random stuff your friends. Eventually a quarter of an hour passes, but you still don’t manage to distract Al enough so you can take him away to safety and Leonard hasn’t left.
>>
So what do you do?
>Talk to Leonard some more, ask him why he can’t just call that old friend. (Beside the murder thing.)
>Ask Al to join you and meet the Curator.
>Ask Al to tell you seriously what he is doing here? Why is he talking with Leonard Bradley?
>Ask Al to leave the Museum… he shouldn’t get involved.

“Al could you give me a moment? I want to talk about something important.” Without waiting for an answer, you quickly pull Al around a corner, away from Leonard’s eyes and ears. Alfred looks at you confusedly, but even now, you feel that the gentleman before you is giving you his full attention.

The strength of his eyes on you feel almost oppressive, but even so… “Al, do me a favor and leave the museum... because there is a charming lady in dan-“ Al’s grave face tells you he is not buying that one, and yeah it’s stupid so you quickly try to explain. There are evil spirits, there is a cute girl that wants to meet him, something, anything, you try everyone but you simply can’t convince your friend to leave this place.

You feel pathetic. You feel almost like crying. Why can't he just believe you, does he want to die?

Even though Alfred is giving you his undivided attention, you fully know the gentleman is not getting you, “Al, just trust me, you need to get out of here, that Leo-“You have to make him understand, but it’s just so hard.

Even if Al is someone so charming, he doesn’t understand you, he doesn’t know about Saints or why you are here. That’s why you don’t feel surprised when, the taller man simply places his hand on your shoulders and stop you.

In that moment the air around Al changes slightly, and suddenly you are reminded of the first time you met Harbinger. Just like the golden bull you met several years ago, right now Al’s aura is shining gold, shinning with a majesty and splendor that just captivates and overwhelms you.

It’s not that you have never noticed it before, but this is the first time you are bearing the sheer weight of it. To his allies it might be a sign to trust in him, but to those who oppose him, it’s the sign that this man will crush them mercilessly, and right now, his cold eyes are set on you, judging your every move.

“Kouga,” Al’s voice is soft, but even you understands that right now your friend is being serious, deadly serious. “I didn’t want to bring this up right now, but… I have noticed that for some reason you truly dislike Mr. Bradley… no it’s not a mere dislike, from the moment you got near him, your body tensed, and it was almost like you were expecting Mr. Bradley to attack you, Kouga.”

There is nothing you can say to deny this, in short Al is on the mark about how you feel about Mr. Ash and Fire, “I don’t know why you feel this way, but honestly I believe you are overeating, and how you are treating my friend is a tad disrespectful. Kouga, I am sure you know this, but Mr. Bradley is not…” Al doesn’t understand, someone like him doesn’t understand.

“Wait, that’s not true! You don’t understand that man is…” The problem is that you don’t know yourself, you really can’t explain it in a way that Al can get it. “That man is simply dangerous, Al. Just… believe me.”

You feel like crying, and seeing that Al’s judging stare relents a bit, “I want to believe you Kouga, but right now I don’t get you, so… tell me, why you think that someone like Leonard Bradley might be dangerous?” Why... is this even about Leonard? You feel like you are concentrating on the wrong thing, but honestly, what you can tell Al. You really can’t tell him that Demons might invade the city, can you?

What should you do?
>Ask Al to just believe you, there is something going on here, something that you can’t tell him about.
>Tell him that Mr. Bradley smells like ash and fire, he smells like blood.
>Tell him Leonard is a member of the church, the church is evil.
>Tell the truth, you just ‘feel’ he is bad news.
>Just ask Al to come with you, you can explain later.
>Tell Al the truth, this city might become a Demon Central.

Tip: Kouga’s Arcana is the Moon, just like his subconscious processes allow him to make intuitive leaps of logic that give him useful info, they don’t help him explain himself too well to others. Sure if you want to make puns, just suggest them. But I was referring to how Kouga's Arcana affects his thought process and life. He still hasn't learned to deal with the Moon that his Mask. Being connected to the world around you is wonderful, but at the same time it means being disconnected from those around you.

“Al, you should leave because… because…” To you it’s hard to explain this in concrete words, you know that Leonard is bad news, but it’s not just the smell or the fact that he is a part of the church, there is something else, someone you can’t name… but all you have is, “I know this sounds weird, but… Al, he smells like ash… like ash and blood, and that… that scares me.”

It hurts to admit that, it hurts to admit that that man unsettles you. Something about Leonard Bradley puts every nerve on you on fire, and you just can’t ignore the man.

“Kouga, I also noticed that, but Leonard is a doctor Kouga, he works to deal with Plagues in Asi-“You already know that Al probably has a good explanation for everything, but you don’t care, you know the truth… and in the end, that might be the only thing you truly have.

“The truth is… Al, the truth is… this city is going to be used as the grounds for a ritual that will open a gate to the underworld. If I don’t do something… this city will be filled with Demons.” Saying this is hard for you, all your life Medea has drilled into you to keep normal people outside these things, but Al… Al, if you fail Al would be hurt, and he deserves to know. So you explain everything regarding the problem in Paris. You explain about the Book, the ley lines and your current mission to save the city.

You tell Al everything, “I am a Saint, a Saint that fights for the Love and Peace of the World. I am Kouga of Black Pegasus, and that’s why I want you to believe me.”

Hearing that confession… the man who calls himself Alfred pauses for a moment, and then simply smiles, and pats you on your head. “I see, I am not sure what to make out of this, but for now… Kouga, I want to believe you.” Al already understands the strength it took for this boy to just tell him everything.
>>
Trusting a stranger sometimes is the hardest thing to do, he knows it from his days of youth. Right now Kouga is probably feeling confused and lost, and what the boy needs right now is to have someone simply trust him.

Just like a long time ago, that zany old man with that white beard also trusted him to face his destiny.

That is the just thing to do, right?

“Okay, Kouga, for now I will believe in you, so what do you want me to do? Is there some way I can help you?” Al rests his hand on your head, and softly pets you, and even though it’s a bit annoying (you are a Saint, damnit!), you don’t hate it. “You have shown great trust in me, telling me all of this, so the just thing to do, is trust you back.” To Kogua this is important, that’s why Al is willing to accept this, even if he might not understand what all of this means.

Hearing Al trust you, it makes you feel kinda nice. (A witch lives in deception, a witch is one who lies and betrays./ The fight of a Saint is a hidden one, we protect the world from the things that exist outside it, that is why we have no need to involve ourselves in outside matters, Kouga.”)

But now that Al trusts you on this, what do you think he should do?
>He should get outside the city. He is safer that way.
>He should come with you. You want him where you can see him.
>He should distract Leonard. You need the time.

“Al, I feel you should leave the museum, and the city. I am… I am not sure if I will be able to handle everything, so if you leave, you might escape if anything happens.” If someone as nice as Al got killed because you failed in your duty, you would never forgive yourself.

All your life Master Integra has always told you that you were a Saint, someone who protects the weak from harm and danger… and right now you think you are understanding what that truly means.

You are not fighting just to defeat evil, and not even to protect your friends, no, you are fighting to protect the innocent people in this city, and that includes Al too.
That’s why you can’t fail, no… that’s why you will never fail.

Al takes a moment to read your eyes, and simply understands, “I guess it’s shameful to turn tail and run away, but if you think I should, then I will do as you say and leave.” Al gives you a sad smile as he ruffles your hair a bit. “It shames me to have to rely on you to fight for me, Kouga, so when this is over, let’s meet again, okay.”

You simply nod, and smile back Alfred. “Okay, let’s drink some coffee and talk next time.” He shouldn’t feel bad, after all, Saints exist for this reason.

“Sure, it’s a promise, Kouga. Then, go finish this fast, because I want to drink some coffee today with you, Pegasus Saint.” Al cheers up a bit, and turns around and quickly greets your friends and Leonard (he has to be polite you suppose…) and simply moves to withdraw cooly.

So as you see Al leave through the northern entrance, you feel a heavy weight leave your heart.

Now if something starts in the museum, you at least know that Al won’t get involved. (Not that you should do anything here, with all the innocent civilians.)
So now all you have to do is meet the Curator and then everything will start.

Not any different than before, but right now you really feel that this will work.

It has to work.

As Alfred leaves the museum, he can’t help think back on the young Saint he you left behind… and what Kouga just told him. This whole mess with the Hellgate and the massive distortion in the land, those factors surely explain why he felt the need to come to this city when he awoke recently.

“I promised Kouga, that I would leave… but I never said when, right?” If Kouga ever finds out, Alfred hopes the boy forgives him, because after hearing everything the witch said, Alfred feels the simple need to investigate.

So silently and furtively, Alfred reaches into his coat, and reaches for something only he knows is there. Its body might be so cold and dead that it no longer shines with the light of all wishes and miracles, but the knight doesn’t care, just like Kouga said, Miracles are something you obtain with your own hands.

That's why even if it might be dead to the world and everyone else, Alfred considers the sword he feels in his hand to be his greatest treasure, a miracle waiting to be born.

“So that’s why, if you can no longer shine with victory and glory, then I will help you shine my old friend, so… would you fight by my side once again, Excalibur Coldbrand?” In his hands, the holy sword shined once again, not with the miracles granted by the world or the Goddess, but the miracle born from Alfred’s own heart.

He might not be in his best condition, but the old king still has something to do in this city, and now he won’t rest until he finds the truth.

That is his justice.

Well in his defense, his personal history is still a sore spot for him, plus he honestly feels it won't help you too much. It's similarly as to why Silber never bothers to talk about his CHAOS philosophy, he feels it won't help you.

Or more like, he respect your freedom enough to believe that you can form your own path and understanding on your own. You don't need to someone else to tell you what to believe... part of what it means to be free is to decide what you want to do on your own.

In the end the strength of your beliefs will decide if that path is right.

I was not saying that it was wrong of him, I was just pointing it out and saying that it's a reason for my choice since I'm curious
also it's funy how his atitude towards Kouga reflect his CHAOS philosophy as chaos values freedom hightly so if Kouga is strong enough to follow his own path he should be alowded to

That's only part of it, it also helps that Silber has had time to reflect on his philosophies... and compared to the impulsive brat he was back during his ordeals, the current Silber is a more mature devil. It made him more moderate, which allows him to talk about something like angels and not get too biased and mad.

Well, going to sleep, if others are interested, please vote for the interlude you want. Please don't force me to roll for it at home.

That being said, I still find it funny the one that is the most informative wasn't voted for.
